2. Yann Tiersen (born 23 June 1970) is a French
musician. His musical career is split between
studio albums, collaborations and film
soundtracks with a distinctive sound that is
always involved. It can be recognized by its use
of a large variety of instruments; primarily the
guitar, synthesizer or violin together with
instruments like the melodical, xylophone, toy
piano, harpsichord, accordion and typewriter.
His most famous soundtrack for the film Amélie
was primarily made up of tracks taken from his
first four studio albums.
3. Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain is a romantic
comedy film directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. The
film tells the story of a shy waitress, played by
Audrey Tautou, who decides to change the lives of
those around her for the better, while struggling with
her own isolation. Amélie won Best Film at the
European Film Awards; it won four César Awards
(including Best Film and Best Director), two BAFTA
Awards (including Best Original Screenplay), and
was nominated for five Academy Awards.
