Bagian intro “ who doesn’t like popcorn” (sambil nunjukin a bowl of popcorn)
We believe on equality, we believe in how every human in this planet has rights to be limitless, break trough the boudaries. Including the disabled. However.
To strengthen our vision, we decided to visit the potential institution for our project implementation which is Balai Rehabilitasi Sosial Penyandang Cacat Cibabat - Cimahi. The numbers of inhabitants of this institution reaches 100, with women population of 40 with age rangers from 15 to 30 from all across west java.
BRSPC has many facilities, they have practice rooms and workshop room, beside those facilities, BRSPC also has gardens to develop their horticultures extracurricular, where disabled students can learn to plant and harvest fruit and vegetable goods, including corns. They also developed the cooking club, where they can learn to make over their foods into more attractive products.
We believe, this rehabilitation centre will be capable to produce goods from the product and rooms for facilities to trained the disabled person.
From there, we learnt the issues that lies regarding current socio-economic condition of the disabled. High reliability on employers
and lacking of entrepreneurial spirit and skills The institution develop their potential on basic industrial skills such as mechanics, make up artistry, sewing, handicraft, and electronics
The other cases occurring is the business of the alumnae only reach certain point until it become stagnant due to the lacking in expansion.
Beside the capital problem, what they lack is business skill and knowledge. the skill that they learned is can’t really be applied in the current business market. Today, most of the disabled person graduates entrepreneur are still making IDR 300,000/months in average, which is still extremely under labor minimum wage.
Meanwhile, Inspired by the liveliness of agricultural industry in West Java, and the enthusiasm of the institutions inhabitant for cooking, we are seeing an
opportunity for products in food and beverage market. West Java produces more than 1 million tons of corn annually. With corn-related industry having
such potential to grow, we see how small part of the industry is contributed from popcorn type of products
