CIC Seed Farm of Pelwehera,
– Located 02 km away from Dambulla
– A total land extent of 634 acres
– Considered as the best managed farm in the
country
– Provide all input needs of the farmer with an
advisory service
Ex:-Seed & planting material, Fertilizer, Agro
Chemicals and other home garden equipment

6. Plant Nursery
• Maintained by farm to raise planting material for
fruit, vegetable, forest, coconut, medicinal plants
• Activities undertaken at the Plant Nursery
– Tissue culture plant production (tissue culture
plants were cleaned and potted)
– Planting material production (Applied Fertilizer
,Hardening of fruits plants and repotted )
– Coconut seedling production
– Office ( Studying about accounts and record
keeping)

• Regional Economic Project
• Program on local Big Onion seed production in the
Maha season
• Activities undertaken at the Big Onion Seed Production
Project
– Mother Bulb Stores Complex (suitable mother bulbs
were selected)
– Big Onion Nursery ( seeds were sowed and Land
preparation)
– Big Onion Field ( Land Preparation, Fertilizing and
mother bulbs were cultivated )

• There are about 150 Acre of land in the farm under
micro irrigated banana crops
• Activities undertaken at the Banana Plantation
– Harvesting (Harvesting is done hand by hand)
– Study about other management practices

• There are 56 staff members in the account and
administration division
• All the documentations and deals are handling by
this unit
• Activities undertaken at the Account and
Administration
– Human Resource management Section( Salary
and wage unit –ETF forms of Employees were
filled)
– Petty cash unit (Daily sales were recorded and
invoices were kept at number order )

• Learn about some divisional operations in the
organization
• Actively involved in some activities with staff
members
• Develop some soft skills such as communication
• Building inter-personal relationships
• Adjusting to organizational cultures
• Gained general knowledge and skills required to
become an agribusiness entrepreneur
