In an age of sharing, increasing efficiency, and access over ownership, we’re in a new era where business is being restructured from the inside out, fueled by technology and a cultural shift toward decentralized models. The way that people interact and transact is changing. While the new sharing economy is currently being built on top of old models, there are ways that we can align incentives with value, creating more egalitarian structures. I will talk about a few of the ways I see this happening and talk about my research on the ground with the practical side of understanding the providers and participants in the sharing economy through writing It’s a Shareable Life.
