2. Our Customer
Jimmy is a user of Stock Exchange Alexa skill, which is the
current skill to get stock information based on a personalized
portfolio. He has left a review for the skill, “I'd really love this
skill to work (which is the only reason it got 2 stars vice
zero). Unfortunately, it will currently drive you to
frustration trying to enter even the smallest list of stocks
verbally. App simply doesn't understand no matter how
many times one repeats a stock symbol. Would be great if
one could just enter the list manually on a website...” He is
noticeably irritated by the current options and needs a new way
to get his stock information. He does not need to actively trade
the stocks with this skill, but merely needs “passive”
information similar to a news Flash Briefing similar to CNN or
CNBC.
3. Our Customer (cont.)

Exchange, is difficult to use and not

See He sees other Alexa skills, like CNN and
CNBC, that do a similar function for news
already
Feel He feels frustrated that the skill he uses
currently hasn’t worked after repeated
attempts
Does He gets information about his stocks from
Yahoo Finance since the Alexa sk
4. Use Case
As a casual investor, I want to get personalized stock

8. “Alexa, remove Google from my
portfolio”
“Google (GOOG) has been removed from your portfolio”
11. Hypothesis
● Hoping people prefer to retrieve stock info from Alexa instead
of their phone
● We want to learn if people are willing to receive
financial/brokerage information from Alexa
● This is important for how personal assistants are used going
forward
