3. OBJECTIVES
GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
At the end of the class student will be able to understand about
the Blood pressure and able to practice in the theory and
clinical.
4. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the class student will
be able to:
- Define Blood pressure.
- Explain the purpose of blood pressure
- Identify the site measuring the blood pressure
- Discuss the factors affecting blood pressure
5. DEFINITION
Systolic pressure: Its is the highest degree of pressure exerted
by the blood against the walls of the blood vessels during the
ventricular systole.

Diastolic pressure: It is the lowest pressure that occurs when
the heart is in its resting period just before the contraction of
the left ventricular.
7. PURPOSE
- To obtain baseline data for diagnosis and treatment.
- To compare with subsequent changes that may occur during
care of patient.
- To assist in evaluating status of patients blood volume. Cardiac
output and vascular system.
