1. Question 7
Looking back at your preliminary
task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it
to the full product?
2. Research & Planning
• One thing which I have learnt,
from the preliminary task to
the main task, is my time
management. In order for my
work to be all in by the
deadline, I had planned out
what I was going to do each
day, compared to the
preliminary task where I didn’t
plan in depth. By doing this, it
helped me to meet my
deadlines and organising my
work in an effective way.
• A second thing which I have
learnt from the preliminary
task to the main task is image
quantity. For the preliminary
task, I only took one or two
photos, whereas in the main
task, I had to take more to
ensure that if one image wasn’t
clear or I didn’t like the
placement, I had an
alternative to ensure that my
work could be completed. By
doing this, it meant I was able
to complete my work on time,
by having the correct images
when needed.
3. Construction
• One thing which I have learnt from the preliminary task
to the main task is the amount of time spent that I
needed to spend on it. Compared to the preliminary task,
I spent a lot more time on my product to ensure that the
final product would be of high quality by making sure
that the masthead was in the right place, for example, or
having the correct filter over an image. By doing this, it
meant that the final product would be of high quality,
and that it would look as though it is part of real media,
ensuring that I could get the highest grade possible.
4. Secondly, another thing which I have learnt from
the progression of the preliminary task and the
main task (in the construction side) is the editing
skills that were needed. Compared to the
preliminary task, I didn’t need to use a lot of skills
to operate Photoshop because the front cover, as
you can see, isn’t very detailed. Whereas, on the
main task of the construction, more editing skills
needed to be used, to ensure that the final outcome
would be a high quality. By this, I needed to ensure
that my previous skills were upgraded, which lead
to the front cover, contents page and the double
page spread are of a high quality.

5. Evaluation
• One thing which I have learnt from
the preliminary task to the main
task is the amount of software’s that
needed to be used to evaluate my
product. In the preliminary task, I
had used one software for my
evaluation, which is Microsoft
Word. However, for the main task, I
had used seven different software’s,
from Moovly to Prezi. By doing this,
I have progressed by using a variety
of software, instead of using one,
and I have showed initiative because
I have found more interesting ways
of showcasing my work.
