Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) - Simply days after the militant team the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria said
they got rid of hundreds of Syrians, dozens of Iraqi Christian households are now running away the
ISIS-controlled city of Mosul, wanting to stay away from a comparable destiny.
On Friday, the al Qaeda splinter team provided an ultimatum to Iraqi Christians staying in Mosul -
by Sunday at twelve noon (5 a.m. ET), they should convert to Islam, pay a great or face "death by the
saber."
A total of 52 Christian family members left the city of Mosul
early Sunday morning, with an armed group restricting
some of them from taking anything however the clothes on
their backs.
"They informed us, 'You to leave every one of your money,
gold, fashion jewelry and go out with only the garments on
you,'" Wadie Salim told CNN.
