These are 4 agreements you should make with yourself to be successful in all areas of life. They may seem simple, but they are necessary. Each agreement is something that we have heard at some point in life, but I have given a new meaning and spin to them.
1. 4 agreements for success
What is agreement?
Agreement is harmony or accordance in opinion or feeling; a position or result of agreeing or
the absence of incompatibility between two things; consistency.
I like that second definition more. There are 4 agreements you can make with yourself in order
to have the mindset and blueprint for success. In this post, I will go over these and explain how
each agreement is key to your success.
Agreement #1: Be impeccable with my word
This one is very simple, but simple doesn't mean easy. We have to get into a habit of using our
words like they are binding us to a written contract. Only agree to do things you know you can
come through on and when you do make an agreement, follow through on it. Little do we know
that we are actually binding ourselves to a contract with our words energetically? Breaking
many of these can affect our success and potential earnings because we need people to come
through for us. Also use our words so they are uplifting people. Even if you aren't wishing
somebody ill will, don't assume with your words that something might be less than good with
somebody. Everything you say, do, and think is a boomerang. It doesn't always come back to us
looking the same, but it does come back.
AgreeŵeŶt #Ϯ: DoŶ’t take aŶythiŶg persoŶally
Believe me when I say that even though I write about these things, I am still walking this
journey myself. Out of the 4, this agreement is the one I'm having to do the most work on.
When you take something personally it becomes personal and a part of you. Trust me when I
say, it wasn't personal before. Did you know that somebody can intend for something to be
personal, but it doesn't have to become a part of you or your reality if you don't make it so?
2. Yeah, but bottom line is some of the greatest leaders and successful people were amazing at
being able to shrug things off. People like Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Franklin D. Roosevelt,
and Henry Ford. Shrugging off the negative puts you in alignment for a relationship with that
person that may benefit you in the long run or even very soon after the incident.
AgreeŵeŶt #ϯ: DoŶ’t ŵake assuŵptioŶs
Haǀe LJou eǀer heard the phrase, doŶ’t assuŵe, it ŵakes aŶ ass out of LJou aŶd ŵe? That is so
true. It will never change. You will find out more surprising things about yourself, others, and
how events turn out when you release assumptions. Releasing assumptions means you can be
open to more possibilities than you can imagine. If you do decide to assume, then assume the
BEST of people, events, and situations. That way, you are just putting out positivity and your
assumed intention of it turning out positive will come back in some way, shape, or form.
Agreeing to not make assumptions allows all possible answers to flow to you, so it's better to
just not assume and see what happens.
Agreement #4: Always do your best!
You should be always giving your best effort. We hear this a lot growing up, but did you know
that your best can change? You are at different levels throughout the daLJ, so doŶ’t put LJourself
doǁŶ if LJou ĐaŶ’t giǀe ϭϬϬ%. Here it is iŵportaŶt to kŶoǁ LJour peak perforŵaŶĐe leǀel. For
edžaŵple ŵLJ peak tiŵe is 7:ϯϬaŵ to 9:ϯϬaŵ aŶd that’s ǁheŶ I do ŵLJ iŶĐoŵe produĐiŶg
activities. I am at 100% at that time. On the other hand my best at 6pm might be only 50%. It
just depeŶds. DoiŶg LJour ďest doesŶ’t ŵeaŶ alǁaLJs perforŵiŶg at ϭϬϬ%. DoiŶg LJour ďest is
giving all that you have at that moment. Whatever percentage of you that you have to give,
then give it. Make aŶ agreeŵeŶt to giǀe it LJour all. That’s it. Lift LJourself up if LJou oŶlLJ had
15.5% to give! Because you gave all you had!
