Mulch films are conducive to the sustainable development of agricultural
systems and ensure growth by preventing water loss and protecting the
essential nutrients. Plastic mulch films are used to give the new seedlings a
head start; the mulch helps reduce evaporation and conserve moisture,
increases soil temperature, and keeps control on the weeds.
WHAT IS MULCH FILM?

 Silver/Black Mulch
It maintain soil temperature because
they are highly reflective. Due to silver
surface, it also controls insects by 30 to
40%. Silver Black mulch is used by
Majority of farmers.
 White/Black Mulch
It is primarily used for a "cooling" effect. It has
dual properties: light reflection and weed
control since a layer of white is co-extruded
over the black.
 Black/ Black or Black Mulch
It Absorbs most visible and Solar
ultraviolet rays and helps to increase the
temperature of soil ,conserves moisture
and controls soil borne diseases.
 Transparent or Solarization Mulch
It increases soil temperature and allows rapid
root growth. It works best for warming up the

 Red/Black Mulch
It warms soil and conserves moisture. It

 Yellow/Black Mulch

UNIQUENESS OF WHITE BLACK MULCH?
• White and black plastic mulch is great for cooler
temperature crops
• Lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli and other cool loving crops
thrive in this dual-color mulch.
• White plastic faces upward, keeping soil temperature
down while increasing the amount of light available to the
plant. The black plastic underside allows less light to
reach the ground, which helps to control weeds.
• The coextruded white-on-black mulch can result in a
decrease in soil temperature up to 12°, even as it reflects
light back into the plant canopy
• Especially between March – June the increased light
availability promotes faster growth and larger yields adds

TYPES OF GROW BAGS?
“HDPE” (High Density Polyethylene)
HDPE has minimal branching of its’ polymer
chains. Because it is denser it is more rigid
and less permeable than the LDPE. The HDPE
bags has better tensile strength but is not as
flexible as LDPE bags.
“LDPE” (Low Density Polyethylene)
LDPE has the most excessive branching. This
causes the low density to have a less compact
molecular structure which is what makes it less
dense. The LDPE bags are more flexible but with
less tensile strength.
