2. Lokxion Foundation’s Vision
Lokxion Foundation showcases and celebrates life in
the townships surrounding Stellenbosch through
Sport and Performing Arts. Our vision is to create
opportunities to discover talent amongst township
youth and to give them a platform to grow. We
believe that through sport and the performing arts
vulnerable young people are given essential life skills
– self - confidence, leadership opportunities, respect
for themselves and their peers, positive and healthy
life choices and, ultimately, a sense of purpose.
Lokxion = Xhosa slang word derived from English “location” or Afrikaans “lokasie”
referring to townships in South Africa.
4. Kayamandi Arts & Cultural Festival
(KACF)
KACF OBJECTIVES
• To provide platform (superior competition) for talent, both
undiscovered and matured to showcase their talent. Presenting
performing arts and sport of the highest possible standard to the
widest possible audience
• To provide a platform for social cohesion in Stellenbosch (have all
race participating through arts)
• To effectively manage the financial resources to ensure KACF
longevity (Self – sustainability).
• To create beneficial partnerships with arts universities & schools in
the Western Cape, local businesses, agencies, and governmental
entities.
• Create Kayamandi as tourism destination – promoting “Township to
Township Tourism”

The main event will be an Evening Event, a series of
probing question and answer sessions with the
finalists followed by the traditional catwalk parade,
will be accompanied by performances of African
dance, music and entertainment. The finalists will be
judges on 3 categories.
