Consensus decision making aims to (1) achieve full participation and mutual understanding by encouraging all members to share ideas, (2) integrate everybody's perspectives and needs to discover the best possible decision, and (3) ensure everyone agrees to support the decision and is willing to implement it. The consensus process involves surveying issues from different perspectives, searching for alternatives, building understanding, and crafting inclusive solutions that serve the group's interests. When consensus cannot be reached, alternatives include deferring the decision, allowing a subgroup to decide, escalating it up the chain of command, or changing the decision method.

90 %
One decides:
*People do what they are told
*At meetings people passively listen
Group discussion:
* Person in charge need to be convinced
* Focus on the person i charge
Less communication between people
Compromise:
* Every member gives up an important interest to get a decision that partialy meet a need
* Nobody get their first choice
* Focus on trade-offs
No creative search for a new way
Majority vote
* Focus on winning the undecided center
* Options of minority disregarded
