Fairy tale construct has a constant plot involving a damsel in distress , under a spell or curse , rescued by the handsome prince charming , who does so by overcoming an evil force (triumph of good over evil) resulting in their “happily ever after”. The support characters are usually the hapless but well-meaning father/parents, helpful and miraculous supporter - a helper who aids the hero/protagonist – usually a non-human character (eg. Fairy godmother , dwarves , horses/animals).
