About the Course
Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contracts, referred
to as turnkey contracts are an increasingly popular method for
procuring construction works, and are the most common mechanism
for procuring large-scale infrastructure projects.
EPC contracts promise a number of advantages, such as certainty
largely by shifting risk away from the Owner and onto the Contractor.
This risk shift, together with the certainty which EPC contracts bring,
makes this form of contract attractive to lenders and sponsors, and it is
the pre-eminent form of construction contract in many jurisdictions.
EPC Contracts: Design, Procurement and Construction Risk
Management is a two-day practical course that introduces participants
to EPC Contracts, explains how they can be effectively negotiated,
and how risks associated with them can be managed. Effective EPC
contract negotiation, risk management and administration can ensure
project success, speed of performance, and reduce risks and costs
throughout the project’s life cycle. This course explores vital issues
on EPC contracts from the perspective of both the project owner and
the contractor.
Hands on, practical approach

and practical examples to discuss. Real life EPC cases and problems
will be explored in an interactive, hands-on way. The information
gained in this course will be of immediate application to anyone
working in the EPC environment. The workshop provides a practical
opportunity to explore EPC contracts together with a knowledgeable
