The Path To Revolution Every revolution begins with one person questioning the status quo: • Is this working? • Is the system delivering what it promises? • Is there a better way? However, that's assuming
the most favorable returns so it's decided to increase it to $18,000 just to be sure – after all you can never save too much, right? You return a year later for your annual review and discover that although your portfolio performed well with respect to market benchmark returns, it's not achieved the growth initially projected. An adjusted strategy is recommended and various technical statistics and simulation scenarios are produced in support of the recommendation. Is this working for you? No. But if you question any aspect – • the tedious data gathering for no apparent useful purpose • the near indecipherable technical jargon and statistical modeling • the pressure to risk more and sacrifice more to 'stay ahead of the game' • the lack of reasoned discussion about your life goals and what you really want from your investment strategy – you're told that this is just 'the way it is', and to 'leave it in our hands'. This experience is replicated in the offices of countless financial advisors, with you paying for the privilege.
