LinkedIn Publisher Toolkit: Getting Started
Using data from +250M members and content from +1.6M publishers, LinkedIn surfaces the
news and insights professionals need to be great at what they do. Here’s how publishers can
leverage LinkedIn to distribute their content and drive traffic/engagement back to their site:
1. Add InShare. All the news features on LinkedIn – the home page module, Pulse, Channels
and email updates – are powered by what members are sharing on the network. Without the
share plugin, your content is invisible to the algorithms that parse and distribute the right
headlines to the right professionals. Make it easy for your readers to share content by placing
InShare above the fold across your site, like Business Insider:
To add InShare, check out the plugin generator on our developer site.
2. Give us your RSS feeds. Pulse offers easy access to the best sources of professional news
and insight. Add your RSS feed on Pulse so LinkedIn members can consume your content across
desktop, Android and iOS; in return, you’ll get referral traffic and an analytics dashboard for inapp engagement with your content. Entrepreneur, The Motley Fool, Fast Company and Quartz
are on Pulse:
To add your feed on Pulse, contact publisher@linkedin.com.
3. Set up a Company Page. Use Status Updates to share the best professional content with your
followers, and measure how effectively you're reaching your audience with our analytics tools.
Updates can be published through a number of social media tools like Hootsuite and Spredfast.
TechCrunch shares content through their Company Page:
