The previous photos are a few of the photos that I had taken for the media product. They
are an example of how I have represented a particular social group as the models that I
have used start at the age 16-22 this age range is roughly the age group that is most
interested in this genre, therefore using these models allows this to target the audience
better.
Including content in my magazine which includes well known artists within the genre
rap/hip-hop these elements allows people to understand who this magazine is targeted
for. This mainly includes a main feature who is well known within the genre, using
someone who is well known within this genre is one way of representing a social group
and then engaging that target audience in as the target audience will most likely listen to
the person whom is the main features music and therefore would want to buy this
magazine. For my magazine I have created a rapper called ‘F.I.A’ creating him the status
of ‘THE WORLDS MOST FAMOUS RAPPER’ (which it states on the front cover) if this
were real life he would be known by the majority of the audience who enjoy this genre of
music, in doing so, this helps to identify the genre of music. The model himself represents
the social group, by elements such as, he is of a younger age, the way he is clothed, the
poses he is doing, all of these elements fits inside this group and therefore reflects the
genre.
