E. Value: Patience
III. Methodology/Procedure
Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity
A. Preliminary Activities
“Good morning class”
“Let us pray first, Anyone who wants to lead the prayer?”
“Ms. Secretary, May I know who are absent for today?
“It seems our classroom is well cleaned today, Good work Class”
B. Preparatory activities
1. Checking of assignment:
Do we have an assignment class? Everyone please
exchange notebooks and check your classmate
assignments.
Please submit your checked assignments in front.
2. Review of past lessons:
“Good morning Sir”
(One student will lead the prayer)
(The secretary will stand and tell who are the absentee for
today)
“Thank you sir”
“Yes sir……(exchanging notebooks and checking their
classmate assignments)
Submitting…….
“Now last time we discussed about what?
“Is there any question about our past lesson? If none lets us
proceed to our next lesson”
3. Motivation
(Post on the board picture of different growth stages of chicken)
Today class we shall have an activity. I will divide you into three
groups and I will give each group this object to post below each
picture, I want you to guess which picture they belong. Just
remember that each objects represents the amount of nutrients
needed by the chicken and after posting I want one student from
each group to explain why did they post it under the picture of
their choice.
Ok let us begin….
Times up now lets hear it from Group 1
Now lets hear it from Group 2
Now lets hear it from Group 3
Ok class good work
“Class those pictures on the board, Can anyone describe the
picture?”
That is correct! But why do they have different amount of
nutrients beside themas they grow?
“Very good Class. Any questions
Now we go to lesson proper…..
“Sir last time we discussed about the history of Poultry raising
in the Philippines.”
“None sir.”
(Student groups and collaborate and post the objects)
(Group 1 student explains)
(Group 2 student explains)
(Group 3 student explains)
“Sir it is a picture of a chicken at different growth stages with
different amount of nutrients beside them.”
“Sir because as chicken grows, their bodies have different
required amount of nutrients same as babies to adults”
None sir.
C. Lesson Proper
Class what do you know about feed formulation?( Call a student)
Good. Now there are things to consider in feed formulation
1. Input
a. Guidelines in feed formulation
1. Nutrient requirements
“Why do we need to know the
nutrient requirement of the broilers
in formulating a feed?”(call a
student).
2. Age of broilers
“Why do we need to know the age of
broiler in formulating a feed?”(call a
student)
3. Economical
Why do we need to know the cost of
materials needed in formulating
broiler feeds?”(call a student)
4. Availability of materials
Why do we need to know the
availability of the feed ingredients in
formulating Broiler feed?”(call a
student)
Sir it is combining feed ingredients into single mixture to
satisfy nutrient requirement of an animal.
“ Sir, it is because we needed to know the proper amount of
nutrient needed by the chicken at a particular stage of growth
for its body to function properly.”
“ Sir, it is because we need to determine if the feed we will
formulate is suited for the age of the chicken
“Sir it is because our goal in formulating feeds is to make high
quality feeds using low cost ingredients.(MURANG GAWIN
NGUNIT MASUSTANSIYANG KAININ)
“Sir we cannot formulate feeds if the feed ingredients we
needed are seasonal or not available in the market”
2. Modelling/ Guided practice
“Using table 1.We will formulate a broiler starter feed
using trial and error method……..”

3. Checking for understanding
“Is our feed formulated meet the required nutrient
standard for the broiler starter?”
“Is our feed formulated cost efficient if a commercial
starter feed cost is 1700 pesos per 100 kg ”
4. Independent practice
Lets divide you into two groups
I want you to formulate a broiler finisher feed using the trial and
error method. Show how much will it cost as compared to 1400
pesos commercial broiler finisher feed.
Ok seems we have an answer, let hear it from group 3.
“Is your feed formulated meet the required nutrient

IV. Evaluation
A. Identification
1. ____________These are the amount of nutrients needed for the body to perform its functions.
2. ____________This are proteins, vitamins, minerals, fats, fiber etc.
3. ____________It is the quantifying feedingredients to combine into a single mixture to satisfy nutrient
requirement of an animal.
4. ____________It is used to formulate feeds using two or more different feedingredients and nutrient
required by the broilers.
5. ____________It is the amount of nutrient present in a feedingredient after chemical analysis.

Detailed lesson plan in Animal Production

  • 1. Detailed Lesson Plan In Animal Production Grade 7-TLE C.Climaco I. Objectives At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to: A. Identify the basic concepts in feed formulation B. Make computation of feed formulation using Trial and Error Method C. Formulate their own poultry feeds using available feed materials within their community. II. Subject Matter A Topic: Poultry Feed Formulation using Trial and Error Method B. Materials: calculator, samples of feed ingredients, pen , visual aids, bondpaper C. Reference: a. Student textbook: TLE 7 b. Teacher’s reference: Poultry, Swine, and Goat Production Author: Jesse Dagoon c. Curriculum guide: k-12 curriculum guide TLE Agriculture/Fishery-Animal Production LO2-Performing Estimation and Basic Calculation D. Skills needed: Observing, Communicating, Analyzing, Creating E. Value: Patience III. Methodology/Procedure Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity A. Preliminary Activities “Good morning class” “Let us pray first, Anyone who wants to lead the prayer?” “Ms. Secretary, May I know who are absent for today? “It seems our classroom is well cleaned today, Good work Class” B. Preparatory activities 1. Checking of assignment: Do we have an assignment class? Everyone please exchange notebooks and check your classmate assignments. Please submit your checked assignments in front. 2. Review of past lessons: “Good morning Sir” (One student will lead the prayer) (The secretary will stand and tell who are the absentee for today) “Thank you sir” “Yes sir……(exchanging notebooks and checking their classmate assignments) Submitting…….
  • 2. “Now last time we discussed about what? “Is there any question about our past lesson? If none lets us proceed to our next lesson” 3. Motivation (Post on the board picture of different growth stages of chicken) Today class we shall have an activity. I will divide you into three groups and I will give each group this object to post below each picture, I want you to guess which picture they belong. Just remember that each objects represents the amount of nutrients needed by the chicken and after posting I want one student from each group to explain why did they post it under the picture of their choice. Ok let us begin…. Times up now lets hear it from Group 1 Now lets hear it from Group 2 Now lets hear it from Group 3 Ok class good work “Class those pictures on the board, Can anyone describe the picture?” That is correct! But why do they have different amount of nutrients beside themas they grow? “Very good Class. Any questions Now we go to lesson proper….. “Sir last time we discussed about the history of Poultry raising in the Philippines.” “None sir.” (Student groups and collaborate and post the objects) (Group 1 student explains) (Group 2 student explains) (Group 3 student explains) “Sir it is a picture of a chicken at different growth stages with different amount of nutrients beside them.” “Sir because as chicken grows, their bodies have different required amount of nutrients same as babies to adults” None sir.
  • 3. C. Lesson Proper Class what do you know about feed formulation?( Call a student) Good. Now there are things to consider in feed formulation 1. Input a. Guidelines in feed formulation 1. Nutrient requirements “Why do we need to know the nutrient requirement of the broilers in formulating a feed?”(call a student). 2. Age of broilers “Why do we need to know the age of broiler in formulating a feed?”(call a student) 3. Economical Why do we need to know the cost of materials needed in formulating broiler feeds?”(call a student) 4. Availability of materials Why do we need to know the availability of the feed ingredients in formulating Broiler feed?”(call a student) Sir it is combining feed ingredients into single mixture to satisfy nutrient requirement of an animal. “ Sir, it is because we needed to know the proper amount of nutrient needed by the chicken at a particular stage of growth for its body to function properly.” “ Sir, it is because we need to determine if the feed we will formulate is suited for the age of the chicken “Sir it is because our goal in formulating feeds is to make high quality feeds using low cost ingredients.(MURANG GAWIN NGUNIT MASUSTANSIYANG KAININ) “Sir we cannot formulate feeds if the feed ingredients we needed are seasonal or not available in the market”

  • 5. 2. Modelling/ Guided practice “Using table 1.We will formulate a broiler starter feed using trial and error method……..” starter feedstuff Protei n Conten t Inclusion or amount of feedstuff(kg) Protein content per inclusion Cost per kilo total cost Yellow corn (grind) 7.8 30 2.3 11 330 Broken rice 7.5 20 1.5 12 240 Fishmeal 49.4 19 9.4 20 380 Rice bran D1 12.4 20 2.5 10 200 Copra meal 20.2 11 2.2 10 110 total 100 18 1260 3. Checking for understanding “Is our feed formulated meet the required nutrient standard for the broiler starter?” “Is our feed formulated cost efficient if a commercial starter feed cost is 1700 pesos per 100 kg ” 4. Independent practice Lets divide you into two groups I want you to formulate a broiler finisher feed using the trial and error method. Show how much will it cost as compared to 1400 pesos commercial broiler finisher feed. Ok seems we have an answer, let hear it from group 3. “Is your feed formulated meet the required nutrient (students are watching as the teacher demonstrates) finisher feedstuff Protein Content Incluscion or amount of feedstuff(kg ) Protein content per incluscion Cost per kilo total cost Yellow corn (grind) 7.8 30 2.3 11 330 Broken rice 7.5 22 1.7 12 264 Fishme al 49.4 17 8.4 20 340 Rice bran D1 12.4 21 2.6 10 210 Copra meal 20.2 10 2.0 10 100 total 100 17 1244 Yes sir, since a broiler starter requires 18 percent Protein Yes sir since our formulated feeds is only 1260 pesos/100kg as compared to commercial starter feed with 1700 pesos /100kg
  • 6. IV. Evaluation A. Identification 1. ____________These are the amount of nutrients needed for the body to perform its functions. 2. ____________This are proteins, vitamins, minerals, fats, fiber etc. 3. ____________It is the quantifying feedingredients to combine into a single mixture to satisfy nutrient requirement of an animal. 4. ____________It is used to formulate feeds using two or more different feedingredients and nutrient required by the broilers. 5. ____________It is the amount of nutrient present in a feedingredient after chemical analysis.
