United Kingdom is the country where William Shakespeare born in April 1564. William
Shakespeare was a lot inspired by the wars of his time period. William Shakespeare used tragic
drama and historical drama to came up with Julius Caesar William Shakespeare published Julius
Caesar during the 1623 s. William Shakespeare wrote Julius Caesar based on true events that
happened during Roman Empire era. The play is named Julius Caesar and it s based on true
events from the Roman History. Julius Caesar is somewhat focusing on leadership of Rome. In
Julius Caesar, leadership makes people betray their friends. Julius Caesar also is extremely
focusing on the betrayal of Brutus to his friend Julius Caesar. In Julius Caesar, William
Shakespeare uses detail to reveal theme.
Betrayal. One of the themes in Julius Caesar is betrayal between the group that killed Julius
Caesar and Julius Caesar. For example, Julius Caesar speaks this quote to Antony saying Yond
Cassius has a lean and hungry look;/ He thinks too much: such men are dangerous (Shakespeare).
This explains how Julius Caesar thought that Cassius was doing something bad. This was
significant because Cassius started to form a group of conspirators to betray Julius Caesar, and
Julius Caesar knew that Cassius could do something bad against him, he did not do something
about it because he thought Cassius was his friend, and then Cassius created the group of
conspirators to betray Julius Caesar. The article named Julius Caesar wrote A successful political
and military leader, Caesar returns to Rome triumphantly after defeating the forces of Pompey, but
his shrewdness and grandiosity earn the enmity of the prominent nobleman Cassius, who begins
plotting against Caesar (Julius Caesar). This quote explains why and how Cassius wanted to
betray Julius Caesar. This is significant because Cassius made people think that they needed to kill
Caesar because Caesar was a dangerous leader for Rome, and then Cassius convinces people to join
to the group of conspirators to

Ethnic Cleansing in Sudan Essay
Ethnic Cleansing in Sudan
The government of Sudan is responsible for ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity in
Darfur, which is located on Sudan s western border with Chad (. The Sudanese government, along
with the Arab Janjaweed militias they arm and support, have attacked the civilians of the African
Fur, Masalit and Zaghawa ethnic groups. These attacks involved massacres, summary executions of
civilians, burnings of towns and villages, and the forceful depopulation of Fur, Masalit and
Zaghawa land. The militia, Muslim like the African groups, have destroyed many religious artifacts
including the desecrated Qorans that belong to their enemies (Human Rights Watch, 2004, p. 5).
The Sudanese government is breaching at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The outcomes of this mission will not be known for a period of time but it is reported on the
17th of May ?a WFP hired truck driver was robbed, beaten and subsequently hospitalized? (UN
estimates?, 2004, para. 6) and ?internally displaced persons (IDPs) who accept food aid (from
WFP) were subject to Janjaweed militia predatory attacks?. (UN estimates?, 2004, para. 9)
Although expected, these actions show that there is still a long way to go before there is peace.
An immediate ceasefire between the two groups would prevent any further breaches of Article 3 of
the UDHR. The Sudanese government and Janjaweed militia must stop the ethnic cleansing in
Darfur. The UN mission stationed there must then assess the safety of the civilians. If civilian
safety is at risk, UN member states should look into providing military assistance.
The Janjaweed militia must be stopped for there to be an end to breaches of Article 5 of the
UDHR. There are one million IDPs in various camps and settlements in Darfur and most are
partly controlled by the Janjaweed (UN estimates?, 2004, para. 3). If the Janjaweed are still
armed and dangerous the civilians at these camps will still be abused. There are two ways the
Janjaweed can be stopped: by overwhelming them militaristically or cutting the Sudanese
government funding and support. The latter option would probably result in the fewest loss of
lives. This option, however, would only work if both the UN and the people of

The Continuous Cycle of War Ever since the days of Mesopotamia from the agricultural revolution,
war has been a constant and important part of human life. Over time though, humans have evolved
and gotten stronger and smarter which lead to more competition. War from its beginning, has
consistently stemmed from the innate sense of evolutionary survival and subsequent competition,
thus securing it s inevitable perpetuation. The only thing that every person has in common is that
they want to survive. Humans are always fighting. This shows how even though the monster had
not done anything inherently wrong, they are afraid because they just want to survive and the

Religions differing has caused many conflicts throughout history. The feeling of attachment to
tribalism and fake patriotism under the umbrella of religion is stronger and more apparent than
respect for human rights and pluralism (Mhamed 2). When people are tied so greatly to their
religion, they will be willing to throw away their morals and do whatever they deem is right for
their beliefs, leading to constant wars. different tribal and so called patriotic groups resort to
religion to gain legacy and popularity (Mhamad 2). Religion is even just a way to unite people to
war such as saying they are doing something in the name of their deity Both survival and
competition, consequently have caused continuous wars throughout human history. Humans are
always fighting since the beginning of time. Wherever there is an enemy, animate or inanimate,
there must be a victory. You must prevail at the front, no matter how high the cost at home
(Wilson 1). There will always be war for these reasons. Nationalism is one of the key examples
coming from this quote and it is said for a very good reason. group versus group competition was
a principal driving force that made us what we are. In prehistory, group selection lifted the
hominids that became territorial carnivores to heights of solidarity, to genius, to enterprise and to
fear (Wilson 1). Competition was necessary and it will until the end of humans. It has caused war

Ethical, Moral And Moral Theory
The ethical reflections taught in this course, have generated awareness in to our own ethical
reasoning allowing us to focus morality on our own lives. The ethical pluralism that is referred to
by the title of our text helps to examine the various aspects of our own ethical moral theory. Ethical
moral theory dominates our lives on a daily basis. Determining actions we consider being right or
wrong depending on the availability of the situation. But, as situations vary, so does the reasoning
behind activities. Although each individual has his/her own mindset and beliefs, the ethical moral
standards which create the baseline of our own morality, differs with our individual teachings.
The pluralistic approach conveyed through Hinman s text, describes various viewpoints of moral
theory. Although these theories change with the dependence of the individual, there are basic
principles that are accompanied by all. Many of these behaviors, although innocent at times, may
have lasting effects on the moral righteousness in our culture. In culture, there are regular questions
focusing the topic of judgement with ethical relativism, as discussed in Hinman s text.
Judgement according to the Webster s Dictionary is the ability to make considered decisions or
come to sensible conclusions. For the application of our own reflection, this definition will work.
The theory of ethical relativism illustrates judgement of our own ethical or moral values may be
judged by others who differ in

Essay about Understanding Depression
The term depression is widely misused in today s society. All human beings experience periods
in life where they are sad for a relatively short period of time, which is considered normal. Those
who experience sadness for extended periods may be suffering from depression. Two terms used to
reference the classifications of depression, are Major Depressive Disorder, and Dysthymia.
Individual diagnosis of these classifications is dependent on the length of time, and severity of
symptoms experienced by the individual. The causes for these depressive states can be due to
genetics or the insufficient production of neurotransmitters, which provide the brain with the data
necessary to regulate one s psychological well being. Two examples... Show more content on

Approaching their senior year in High school, they began to discuss what colleges they would

they both had visions of seeing the world and wanted to attend the University of Kentucky (UK),
Located in Boiling Green. Their imaginations ran wild with what life would be like in the big

Main Sources Of Cost Data
POSSIBLE SOURCES OF COST DATA
We are requested to assist the building with creating a method of construction cost data for client
throughout the pre contract. The task of data collection is a difficult procedure and can be include
to wide variations. Based upon our experience as quantity surveyors we chose to develop a cost data
collection method. Our define construction line items and quantities for relativity building types.
The method that provides the best opportunity for cost data collection was noted as the Bills of
Quantity method. This method appears to have advantages over the other methods but yet even
with the Bills of Quantity method some potential pitfalls exist.
A Bill of Quantity is basically a listing by trade of certain construction components that make up
the total project. The project may be a building. The Bill of Quantity documents quantities for
each element of the building type such as cubic meters of concrete foundations or square meters
of roofing material. Bill of Quantity is used frequently to assist in developing tenders or bids for
projects. The Bill of Quantity will be provided by the quantity surveyor. Once the quantity of
concrete footing is known a unit price to cover for material, labor and equipment is applied to
develop the cost of each line item or component. The total project is basically include of all the
individual line items.

Reaction Paper On ECG Waveform
BioMedical Matlab Thesis ECG WaveformJessica Garcia,
BioMedical MatLab,Thesis Final Prof. Jonathan Ibera 11 9 17
An ECG, or electrocardiogram, is a waveform generated by the natural sinus rhythm of the heart. It
is an electrical representation of the heart beat in form of what is known as a PQRST Complex. The
physical generation of this sinusoidal heart rhythm waveform is generated by the expansion and
contraction of the four different chambers of the heart that work collectively to pump blood
through the human body.
The biomedical piece of equipment used to measure this electrical activity of the heart is an
Electro Cardiogram machine, also widely known as an ECG. This electrical signal is acquired by
electrodes placed on the human body. On screen, the heart rate appears in form of a wave in which
each pulse and different peaks if the waveform, known as the PQRST waveform, represents a small
amount of an electrical signal.
These signals have different peaks, which are representations of different levels of electrical
intensity, are detected by the electrodes that then transmit the energy to a sensor that helps the
processor measure the actual value of this peak. Below is a representation of the heart rate
waveform and its named peaks.
Upon analysis of these waveforms collected by medical professional, they are able to tell many
things. They are able to analyze and assess regular heart rhythms as well as any other abnormal

Juxtaposition In Crime And Punishment
In Fyodor Dostoyevsky s, Crime and Punishment, the conclusion of the novel plays an important
role in resolving and reconciling a multitude of conflicts within the characters. For Dostoyevsky,
the resolution of the story plays a significant purpose not only in resolving the various crimes
committed, but additionally acting as a moral reassessment for the characters that helps the
audience reflect upon their own morals as well. Accordingly, through Dostoyevsky s portrayal of
the troubling abuses committed by the characters due to their lack of regard for the law, a large
portion of the novelemphasizes the concept of a universal morality that should be intrinsic to
humanity. Through the analysis of the repercussions of Raskolnikov s crimes, Svidrigailov s
crimes, and the juxtaposition between them,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Giorgio De Chirico s Art
Giorgio De Chirico s art can be viewed one that evolved tremendously over time. However, his
artwork portrayed a number of characteristics and traits that differentiated them from the works of
other artists in his time. This is probably why his art remains a puzzling factor to many from the
20th Century to date. A wide use themes and concepts can be seen in a number of his works. He
has played a huge role in shaping the surrealist works of art.
As mentioned, Giorgio De Chirico s art differed immensely from those of artists at the time. As a
result of this difference, he appeared to be left out and his work segregated especially by the
French arts men and fellow surrealists. His art was characterized by symbolic objects. His
manikins, for example were spotted without upper body parts or faces. They appeared bizarre.
Mostly, his paintings comprised of natural inspirations. Even if he painted a building, the aspect
of nature was seen in the outcome. Additionally, he used color so as to put emphasis of particular
objects. He would use contrasting colors in his mannequins and would place them in odd sizes and
relationships so as to create juxtaposition. An example of this can be seen in The Disquieting
Muses, one of his works of art.
Enigma is one of his most widely used themes. It can be seen his use of ordinary life objects and
figures. These figures have been used in a context that does not appear ordinarily familiar. They all
appear in a position or element that has been

The novel Robinson Crusoe is a story of man s shipwreck on a deserted island and his subsequent
adventures (Learnify). The novel is based on the story of the Scottish crewman Alexander

Europe allowed him to write imaginative plot. This story has been translated and read by many

Dramatic Irony In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter
Nathaniel Hawthorne was born July 4th, 1804 in Salem, Massachusetts, an area still steepled with
the Puritanical religion. As previously stated, Nathaniel Hawthorne was the grandson to two we ll
know Puritan preachers, one who trailed and condemned people during the Salem Witch Trials.
Hawthorne was raised by his mother, a single widow, and by a household full of women. Trying to
escape this side of the family, Hawthorne added the w to his name as to avoid being considered
related to the Hathornes before him, as if trying to avoid the shame and negative connotations
coming with the name. Hawthorne wrote The Scarlet Letterin 1850 after being fired from his job in
the Salems Customs House, forced to write as a living. Many people were outraged after reading
the novel as it criticized Puritanical religion, which Hawthorne hadn t noticed until afterwards,
and brought to light these hypocritical things people didn t want to see. Many people disliked
Hawthorne as he criticized women writers harshly and in general didn t like the way some women
lived their life such as his feminist friend Margaret Fuller. It also confused people as he criticized
these women yet seemed to sympathize with Hester in the novel. Hawthorne seems to be a huge
fan of irony in this novel as almost every chapter includes dramatic irony, which is when the
audience understands what is happening but the characters don t. He uses dramatic irony having to
do with religion, due to the fact that this is the

In the past, terrorist attacks have always awakened politicians to adjust their laws and regulations in

Beethoven Music in the Clockwork Orange

Music History: Beethoven
An Interpretation of Beethoven s Music in the Film A Clockwork Orange A Clockwork Orange is
the story of a young and disturbed man who, in order to avoid his prison sentence, subjects himself
to a controversial new treatment to correct his unlawful behavior. Stanley Kubrick, the film s
creator, uses Beethoven s music to penetrate the complexity of the main character s actions and
emotions. Beethoven s music acts as his salvation, providing him with pleasure and relief from the
violent lifestyle he created, but in the end it becomes the force that tears him apart. The main
character, Alex, and his gang of four, Dim, George, and Pete, spend their nights drinking
psychedelic milk ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The treatment conditioned Alex to become physically sick when hearing Beethoven s music since it
was present during the entire procedure. As the music continues to torture him, the symphony
brings Alex to his lowest point nearing death as he jumps out of the window in an attempt to
escape the music and his agony. As a criminal, Beethoven s music provided him with sensation
and fascination, but as A Clockwork Orange, it is now his breaking force. A Clockwork orange
refers to a mechanical piece of fruit. Alex is now unable to make his own decisions, he appears
normal on the outside, but is really mechanical and machine like inside. During the Ludovic
treatment, Alex watches extremely violent films. During the first few days he has no problems
watching the films, even somewhat enjoying them. As the days continue he realizes that the
accompanying music is Beethoven s ninth symphony, fourth movement. He tells the doctors that
it is a crime to use Beethoven s music for such hatred, but he is told it s for his own good. The
combination of the violence and the music deeply tortures and changes Alex. The doctors are
directly ignoring the intent and greatness of the music. The symphony is a celebration of life yet
the doctors have paired the music with videos of some of the most terrible events in history, with
the peak of the piece accompanied by footage of Nazi s. The music further elevates the tragedy and
scale of these

Doctor Relationship In Awakenings
I could have torn the child apart in my own fury and enjoyed it. It was a pleasure to attack her
(Williams 59). These are the thoughts in a doctor s conscious while trying to make a diagnosis on a
sick and defiant child. During the patient doctor relationship patients hold physicians to higher
standards than other occupations. They do not expect them to have vulgar thoughts towards clients
and make mistakes like everyone does in other jobs. In William Carlos Williams s The Doctor
Stories and the film Awakenings the patient doctor relationship as well as the life lessons learned by
doctors from patients are presented. Although with new technology and medicinediminishing the
doctor patient relationship there is a lot to learn from the life lessons the doctors get when
interacting with patients in the hardest part of their lives. The doctor patient relationship in the
Awakenings with the patents that have encephalitis is very weak when Dr. Sayer arrives at the

Gardening, Civil Disobedience, And Self Reliance
Dreams and Individuality Imagine having endless opportunities to be great and change the

Senco Electronics Company (Senco) is a U.S. based manufacturer seeking to evaluate moving its
assembly plant to China. Senco is evaluating the cost of operations when transporting via

for this Case Study are $823,000 for maritime and $800,000 for air with a projected annual
demand of 2.5 million pounds from the new facility. Additionally, the Case Study proposes a

Loneliness, Sorrow, And Companionship In The Wife s Lament
Loneliness, Sorrow, and Companionship in ВЁThe Wife s LamentВЁ
The Wife s Lament is about loneliness, sorrow and companionship. ВЁThe Wife s LamentВЁ,
translated by Richard Hamer, describes the feelings of a woman who is grieving about the absence
of her lord or husband. The poem is a written as a woman s song. The woman is frustrated that she
is separated from her lover and that she is unable to mend her situation. We can see loneliness
and grief reflected in the poem because the woman talks about hardships. It is a sad poem; she
feels lonely and vulnerable because she is no longer in touch with her lord. This woman should
deal with her grief, face it, and move forward to make her life better.
In The Wife s Lament, the woman longs for companionship from her husband. Her husband, who
is not named in this poem, goes to sea leaving her in a friendless exile (10). It is noted that her
lord s kinsmen plotted secretly (11), wanting to separate them for a long time. The plot to send
her away put her in a position where it would forever keep them apart. She has never been
through a loss this excruciating. The woman feels that she is alone since she has few dear loyal
friends. (17). She turns to her husband s people for advice, but they have their own plans as to ...

of her impending doom and ultimate death. As she lay in bed dying in what her mind may be a

that disturbance to the moment to the stillness in the air just before the storm. Dickinson in my

He is trying to tell us that we are more that the information recorded in our files.
The Snow Man, is a very elegantly written piece about how we tend to take life for advantage and

Stevens tries to teach us to find beauty in everything, no matter how horribly a situation may be,

stuck in this phase of our lives and are unable to move on. It s simply a waste of our time here on

A Short Note On The Global Ecology Center

The Global Ecology Center
Lihao Wang,
May 19
The word sustainable is very popular recent years. Many countries are trying to reduce the carbon
emission. They tried controlling the smoke of the car. They tried controlling the use of the electric
and recycle everything they can use again. However, the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of
buildings is more than either the transportation or industrial sectors. According to US Green
Building Council s research,In 2004, total emissions from residential and commercial buildings
were 2236 million metric tons of CO2, or 39% of total US. Also, buildings consume 70% of the
electricity load in the US.(USGBC) A building called Global Ecology Center reduced 72%
reduction in carbon emissions and 50% in embodied carbon for building materials. Global
Ecology Center is located in Stanford, and it was chosen as an AIA Committee on the
Environment Top Ten Green Project for 2007. The capacity is 10,900 ft2. It completed in March
2004. Global Ecology Center combined with laboratories and offices. It owned by and occupied
by Carnegie Institution of Washington, Corporation.(nonprofit) All told, the GEC achieved a 72
percent savings over a 2001 California Title 24 compliant building, the strictest energy code in
the nation, for a modest capital cost premium paid back between two and five years. In short, this

mere historical narration and recreates the polyphonic experiences of varying groups of people in
Nigeriabefore and after the Civil War. She employs temporal distortion in her narrative, distorting
time in order to illustrate the intertwining effects of the past and present, immersing deep into the

insatiable desire to learn and read leads him to subconsciously memorize, re read and recite texts

between Ugwu and Douglas who were both exploited as slaves during the colonial era. Ugwu
becomes so immersed in western culture that he finds difficulty in adapting to his former
traditional lifestyle when he visits home. He finds the food unpalatable and is disgusted by his

Yet, despite being in direct contact with western ideas, Ugwu is still unable to completely free

Odenigbo and Olanna shrug the dibia off as ludicrous old fashioned thinking, Ugwu is completely

Google, Its Mission, And Its Business Model Essay
Briefly describe Google, its mission, and its business model.
Google was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Bin. Founders Page and Bin met at
Stanford University in 1995. By 1996 they built a search engine (initially called BackRub) that
used links to determine the importance of individual web pages. Google Inc. was born in 1998,
when Sun co founder Andy Bechtolsheim wrote a check for $100,000 to that entity which until
then didn t exist. Since the start, they ve focused on providing the best user experience possible.
Google is a web search engine owned by Google Inc. Google the most used search engine on the
World Wide Web handling billions of customers every day. Google Search provides several
features beyond searching for words. These include time zones, stock quotes, maps, weather
forecasts, and sports scores. Google s mission is to organize the world s material and make it
reachable and useful. Google founders are into building a business model based on a way of
monetizing an activity for which we had been only too happy to stop paying. It is this
monetization of dangling value that enables a business to sustain itself, compete for market share,
and grow. They found a way to be a sole provider of something else in value chain that met its
consumer needs. Google generated about $21 billion in revenue last year. The other side of Google
s hugely successful business plan is innovation.

Great Depression Impact
The Impact of the Great Depression The Great Depression was a very influential era in
American history, affecting many future generations. One of the most prevalent impacts it had
on society was the extreme poverty that swept across the nation, affecting both people in cities
and in the country. The main cause for this poverty was the mass loss of jobs among the middle
class. Millions lost their jobs and consequently their homes. Families lived out of tents and cars
in shanty towns or Hoovervilles. In these camps, many people didn t have their basic human
needs met, children and adults alike starved. They lived in clothes that were caked in dirt and
tattered, too small for growing children and too cold for the frail elderly. Government relief
programs attempted to help but offered little support to the now impoverished families of the
millions that lost everything. The spread of poverty began with the loss of jobs. Companies
could no longer afford to keep their employees and many Americans were laid off as businesses
went under. Once someone lost their job, it was near impossible to find a new one. Some
government programs attempted to provide jobs for people, but they only had a limited number of

Assimilation Is The Process Of Assimilation
Acculturation is the process of adaptation migrants may undergo upon the relocation to a new

important subject because in today s world immigration is a common occurrence, since people
migrate for employment, family and a variety of other reasons. Therefore it is essential to
understand the elements that help or hinder an immigrant s acculturation to their new environment.
If it is in fact possible to discover these factors, it may even be possible to help make the process of

The participants of this study were Russian immigrants living in Finland and Israel. The findings
show integration and adaptation are positively related to length of time spent in the immigrant s

context and more specifically time affects acculturation. The sample size used in this study was
relatively small and the authors also recommend alternative methods of testing the level of
acculturation in the participants. The article, well being in cross cultural transitions, examines the
effect of acculturation and contact difference on immigrant health (Cassidy, Haslam, Ramos

acculturation preferences are not met by their new community. The results show that there are
negative implications for individuals if their contact preferences and actual contact with their new
community differed. An important limitation of this study was that it could not isolate the contact
variable, meaning it did not control for amount of contact immigrants had with their new
communities. The article, assessing acculturation over time, studies Chinese and Korean American

Le An Objective For Prohibition
Abstract: Lean is a conspicuous theory and application which expects the use of a wide range of
assets for any reason, other than the production of significant worth for the end client to be

Do Mistakes Lead To New Discoveries
Do mistakes lead to new discoveries? I believe yes! Sometimes they don t lead to new
discoveries but most the time they do. Think about when you were in middle school or
something, you got a question wrong on a test, you can now understand how to do it if you do
corrections, you learned or discovered how to solve it correctly instead of getting it wrong every
time. In the first story it talks about how Frank Calvert wants to make discoveries in Ancient Troy,

D Day During The World War II
There are a lot of days throughout the landing on Normandy on June 6th, 1944, to get the
Germans out of Paris, which then lead to pushing them out of France in late August 1944. D day
was a significant day because it helped end World War Two . It was the day that had started the
chain effect to ending World war Two, an example of this is on December 16, 1945, the Battle
of the Bulge. This was when the last of Germany s troops went 50 mile across the Allies defences
creating what is known as a bulge. There are some main targets and effects of d day and some of
those are, it helped the soviets not fight alone against Nazi Germany. It spread the Germans army
thin because they had to face fronts on the East and West side of them, just like in... Show more

But now that Adolf Hitler Germany s chancellor has Poland, Hitler will break that pact in 1941.
This was when Hitler had organized a blitzkrieg on the Soviet Union . That Blitzkrieg was
codenamed Operation Barbarossa. On the day June 22, 1941 Adolf Hitler organized and launched
operation barbarossa, he had set the soldiers to the Eastern side of Russia. This was one of the
largest military operation in history. It concluded more than three million Axis troops, and around
three thousand and five hundred tanks. On the first day the Germans had gone nearly fifty miles
into Russia. The Soviets weren t looking so good they had two hundred fifty thousand men that
were lost when the Germans encircled and either killed or enslaved the Soviet soldiers near the end
of June in Minskin Belarus near Poland. Also around september one hundred eighty thousand were
captured at Smolensk and meanwhile five hundred thousand casualties in the Battle of Kiev. The
Soviets with the non aggression pact broken they looked for the help of the Allies.
Now organizing the Western front was hard that it looked. There was verise obstacles and worries
to overcome. Some of obstacles and struggles are that when President Roosevelt, Winston
Churchill the leader of England at the time had to plan and think about even little things like the
moon. The moon played in this because of the tides. If the tide was to high many of the landing
ships would hit land mines. It also wasn t good if the tide was to

Bathypelagic organisms are mostly black, red or transparent, rendering them essentially
invisible in the weak biological light. Because they do not go anywhere, streamlining has either
not evolved or has disappeared. 2.3 The Bathypelagic Zone In the bathypelagic zone, most
organisms 4 are unable to undertake vertical daily migrations because below a certain depth the
pressure is too great and the swim bladder is unable to function gas cannot be produced. Most of
these fish lack swim bladders or, like orange roughy, have bladders that are filled with wax.
Sharks do not have swim bladders but are able to move vertically. To plane up and down they
rely on strong swimming and the buoyancy provided by their oily livers (oil is less dense than
water). This zone is located at a depth of 1000 to 4000 metres. The only source of light is from
bioluminescence, as no sunlight can reach these depths. The pressure is enormous; at 5800 psi
(pounds per square inch) it is almost 400 times the pressure at sea level (14.7 psi). 2.4 The
abyssopelagic zone This zone extends from 4000 to 6000 metres deep. 5The water temperature is
so cold that it is near freezing, and there is no light at all. Very few creatures can be found in these

Give Me Liberty, By Eric Foner
The worst part about a new semester is purchasing new textbooks. And most of the time, the
required textbook does not even get opened. Growing up from the beginning of our education, we
were taught that all the information that one needs to know about a certain subject is in the
textbook. However, a textbook is written by an author, who can give a very different interpretation
on history. Since the textbook is under their publishment, they have the right to include or exclude
certain things. Referring back to my early education, there are many things that I remember being
taught in class but as my education level grew broader, I learned more about certain things in
history that was not taught to me threw the textbook. The textbook can definitely twist the story up
if you re not given all the facts of the matter. In Judith Rollins... Show more content on

Comparing the writing style of Rollins , her article places more emphasis on certain matters.
Rollins addresses and answers her own questions throughout the article. Asking the readers, how
can a movement reformist and assimilationist at its essence be linked to weakening of the
capitalist dominance of the world (Rollins, 61). Questions like this are not brought up for
discussion in Foner s, Give Me Liberty. Eric Foner does not challenge history within his writing. It
is more of a stating the facts piece, different from Rollins Part of a Whole . When reading from the
excerpt, The Changing Black Movement , Foner states, Even at its moment of triumph, the civil
rights movement confronted a crisis as it sought to move from access to schools, public
accommodations, and the voting booth to the economic divide... (Foner, 999). This introductory
sentence does not challenge anything about the history of the Civil Rights Movement as Rollins
article does. Proving that her account places more emphasis and dispute to

I Taste A Liquor Never Brewed
I Taste a Liquor Never Brewed Emily Dickinson was born on December 10, 1830, in Amherst,
Massachusetts, she left school as a teenager. She remained her entire life in Amherst, in her family
s house. She never married although, in some of her well known poems she mentioned that she is
getting married and spending wild nights with her lover. Also, she suffered from epilepsy disease
and that is why she never left her familys house for many years except few times to consult a doctor
for her illness.
Emily Dickinson adores nature. No, truly, she adores nature so much that she prescribes it. I taste a
liquor never brewed is a poem from numerous nature themed poems in Dickinson s group of works.
One thing that makes this poem unique is the insidiousness

Re reading the post that I shared, the one that came in from Detroit via The Guardian, Pimp My
Bike, I thought about the city of Baton Rouge. In the article from Detroit the author pointed out the
diversified group of participants at the rides that they put on, and how much fun was had by all. In
my travels around Baton Rouge I, have noted the diversity of the cycling community in our fair
city. Of those who use a bike daily, I have noted that there are those who obviously have little
choice but to use a bike or walk for transportation. There are those who use a bike in conjunction
with public transit to get around. There are also those who choose to ride a bike for transportation
because it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a bike out there for anyone and everyone that wants to get out there and have some fun,
get a little exercise, and fresh air. There is no rule that says that you should become an all day,
everyday cyclist. Being a weekend rider or leisure cyclist is great fun, you have a hobby, you are
getting some exercise and having a good time at it. Commuting to work or school is not
something that everyone can do. Those of us who are fortunate, enough to be able to do so,
know how lucky we are. Bike riding is a privilege. Those of us who ride, and are involved in the
advocacy movement are more than aware of how it is a precarious situation. On the one hand,
we have those who would support us in power to make the decisions that will make it easier and
safer to walk and ride a bike in Baton Rouge. On the other hand, there are those who think that
bikes are for kids and should be kept off the streets period. If you ask most police officers what
the laws are about bicycles and the roads you would probably find out that a lot of them don t
know. Do bikes belong on the roads or the sidewalks? In truth, bikes are breaking the law by
riding on the sidewalks, yet the police do not enforce this law. That it is a good thing because
there are places in Baton Rouge where riding a bike in traffic, on the street is the equivalent of
having a death

Recreational Vehicle Industry Analysis
The Recreational Vehicle Industry
MGT 698
5 October 2011
For most people, the recreational vehicle (RV) industry is a large subject to wrap their heads
around due to the rather vast array of products associated with the term recreational vehicle . When
conducting web searches for information regarding the recreational vehicle industry I found it a
little bit overwhelming in that it contained everything from a Ski Doo Grand Touring luxury snow
machine to a 27 Peterbilt 379X with a custom 53 Elite tri axle car hauler/conversion apartment
sleeper. To narrow, and better define, this industry the definition of recreational vehicle will be a
motorized or towable vehicle that incorporates living spaces and home like amenities.

Of the 900 companies involved in this industry only the top 20 manufacturers hold 80% of the
total market which includes approximately $10 billion in sales. The major manufacturers all
produce numerous models of both motorhomes and travel trailers and utilize easily
reconfigurable production assembly lines with relatively small production runs per model.
Dealer orders are the catalyst to reconfigure assembly lines and produce individual models. In
2008 and 2009 orders and sales were low, but like a lot of other industries 2010 saw a very robust
growth spurt totaling 46.2% over the previous two years. Total shipments were reported at
243,000 units which encompassed a retail value increase of 69.5%, more than $8.7 billion.
Even further, Richard Curtain has predicted through analysis conducted by his economic
research team at the University of Michigan that RV shipments will increase 7.4% in 2011 over
the previous year. This is due to the customer base that this market is able to bring to the table.
Not long ago the customer base was strictly wealthier, retired couples over the age of 55 years old
but the current customer profile has ownership of RV s spread across all tiers of age with the
highest percentile being in the range of 35 54 year old couples with an average of three vehicles
and an average household income of $70,000. As quoted on a popular RV ing

Business Line Model Of Nordstrom
Strength The diverse business line model that Nordstrom applies gives them a competitive edge
over their competitors. Unlike many of their competitors, Nordstrom operates in several retail
categories such as: clothing, furniture, bedding, footwear, beauty products, jewelry, house wear and
cafes (Nordstrom Inc, n.d). Operating in multi retail categories gives consumers an incentive to
shop at their shop, over the competitors because the consumer can satisfy all their specific needs
and wants in one store instead of having to visit several. The divergent product line also broadens
Nordstroms target market by offering different products that attract new market segments and reach
the different demographic and purchasing needs of each consumer. Nordstrom s wide product
range helped them to increase their Total Revenue in the 3 quarter 2014 by 8.88 % year on year,
while most of its competitors have experienced contraction in revenues by 0.17 % (CSI Market,
2014) . As Nordstrom continues to constantly add in new products or line extensions to their
product mix, they can expect to maintain a steady growth and competitive advantage over their
competitors. Nordstrom has quickly become one of The United States best high end fashion

Analysis Of Craig Mullaney s Novel The Unforgiving Minute
One of the most interesting and fascinating aspects of the Army is learning about the experiences
of the individuals that drive the organization. Due to the nature of the organization, the members
of the United States Army come from all walks of life, all with unique backgrounds and
experiences. Consequentially, the Army is a highly versatile and diverse organization that can
accomplish almost any mission. Similarly, the leadership training and education of Craig
Mullaney received at West Point, Ranger School, and Oxford were designed to provide him with
the necessary knowledge and experience to overcome his challenges he faced in Afghanistan.
Essentially, these institutions honed his internal qualities such as hard work and dedication to
enable him to lead soldiers. The name of Mullaney s novel, The Unforgiving Minute, describes a
unique situation: a point in time when a decision or action must be taken to overcome a difficult
scenario, specifically a scenario where either decision leads to a negative outcome. Based on the
novel, the unforgiving minute Mullaney faced was when his convoy was ambushed and he lost a
soldier. Essentially, the decision he made was to have his dismounted squad assault an enemy
position which resulted in an engagement where his soldier was fatally wounded. Yet if he had not
ordered this assault, the same enemy position was waiting to detonate a large IED on the mounted
convoy; an event which would have possibly lead to a large number of

Danger Of Symbolic Events Essay
The Dangers of Symbolic Events or Holidays in the United States
Any gathering of people can be a potential target for someone or some group. This is nothing new
however. It has as happened for centuries and will continue to happen. The definition of terrorism is
to use violence and threats to intimidate or to coerce others, particularly for political purposes.
Staying home huddled in fear is not an option. If you are forced to change, because of a threat then
you have been coerced, and you now have lost a certain amount of freedom, but then again survival
is the objective.
The so called lone wolf attack is the hardest one to guard against, because a person can have
intentions that are not disclosed to anyone, and if they are, it is usually to sympathizers that only
encourage the behavior and not deter it. In some cases, there is no trail to pick up, so ... Show more

Becoming drunk in public makes you a target for literally anyone, because you may think you can
deter someone but you cannot.
Soft targets are typically those not guarded well or at all, and so they make easy targets. Attackers
do not want to be fired upon. They do not want anything to slow or to stop their carnage, so they
will choose targets that they suspect or know will not be guarded well, such as malls, outdoor
markets, parades, parties, and any gathering in a public place.
If you have to leave in a hurry do you know which way to go and if the first avenue is blocked do
you have an alternative route mapped in your head. This is the world we all live in today, and we
all have to pay attention to what is happening in our immediate area, and around the world so we
can do threat assessments.
Enjoy life, enjoy celebrations but always have an eye to the trees, to the shadows and always have
an escape route mapped out in your head. Consider the what ifs at all

One of the themes in Julius Caesar is betrayal between the group that killed Julius Caesar and Julius Caesar. For example, Julius Caesar speaks this quote to Antony saying Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look;/ He thinks too much: such men are dangerous (Shakespeare). This explains how Julius Caesar thought that Cassius was doing something bad. This was significant because Cassius started to form a group of conspirators to betray Julius Caesar, and Julius Caesar knew that Cassius could do something bad against him, he did not do something about it because he thought Cassius was his friend, and then Cassius created the group of conspirators to betray Julius Caesar. The article named Julius Caesar wrote A successful political and military leader, Caesar returns to Rome triumphantly after defeating the forces of Pompey, but his shrewdness and grandiosity earn the enmity of the prominent nobleman Cassius, who begins plotting against Caesar (Julius Caesar). This quote explains why and how Cassius wanted to betray Julius Caesar. • 4. Ethnic Cleansing in Sudan Essay Ethnic Cleansing in Sudan The government of Sudan is responsible for ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity in Darfur, which is located on Sudan s western border with Chad (. The Sudanese government, along with the Arab Janjaweed militias they arm and support, have attacked the civilians of the African Fur, Masalit and Zaghawa ethnic groups. These attacks involved massacres, summary executions of civilians, burnings of towns and villages, and the forceful depopulation of Fur, Masalit and Zaghawa land. The militia, Muslim like the African groups, have destroyed many religious artifacts including the desecrated Qorans that belong to their enemies (Human Rights Watch, 2004, p. 5). The outcomes of this mission will not be known for a period of time but it is reported on the 17th of May ?a WFP hired truck driver was robbed, beaten and subsequently hospitalized? (UN estimates?, 2004, para. 6) and ?internally displaced persons (IDPs) who accept food aid (from WFP) were subject to Janjaweed militia predatory attacks?. (UN estimates?, 2004, para. 9) Although expected, these actions show that there is still a long way to go before there is peace. An immediate ceasefire between the two groups would prevent any further breaches of Article 3 of the UDHR. The Sudanese government and Janjaweed militia must stop the ethnic cleansing in Darfur. The UN mission stationed there must then assess the safety of the civilians. If civilian safety is at risk, UN member states should look into providing military assistance. The Janjaweed militia must be stopped for there to be an end to breaches of Article 5 of the UDHR. There are one million IDPs in various camps and settlements in Darfur and most are partly controlled by the Janjaweed (UN estimates?, 2004, para. 3). If the Janjaweed are still armed and dangerous the civilians at these camps will still be abused. There are two ways the Janjaweed can be stopped: by overwhelming them militaristically or cutting the Sudanese government funding and support. The latter option would probably result in the fewest loss of lives. This option, however, would only work if both the UN and the people of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Drew Mingione Ms. Speirs English 10H A4 April 27, 2017 The Continuous Cycle of War Ever since the days of Mesopotamia from the agricultural revolution, war has been a constant and important part of human life. Over time though, humans have evolved and gotten stronger and smarter which lead to more competition. War from its beginning, has consistently stemmed from the innate sense of evolutionary survival and subsequent competition, thus securing it s inevitable perpetuation. The only thing that every person has in common is that they want to survive. Humans are always fighting. This shows how even though the monster had not done anything inherently wrong, they are afraid because they just want to survive and the monster looks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Religions differing has caused many conflicts throughout history. The feeling of attachment to tribalism and fake patriotism under the umbrella of religion is stronger and more apparent than respect for human rights and pluralism (Mhamed 2). When people are tied so greatly to their religion, they will be willing to throw away their morals and do whatever they deem is right for their beliefs, leading to constant wars. different tribal and so called patriotic groups resort to religion to gain legacy and popularity (Mhamad 2). Religion is even just a way to unite people to war such as saying they are doing something in the name of their deity Both survival and competition, consequently have caused continuous wars throughout human history. Humans are always fighting since the beginning of time. Wherever there is an enemy, animate or inanimate, there must be a victory. You must prevail at the front, no matter how high the cost at home (Wilson 1). There will always be war for these reasons. Nationalism is one of the key examples coming from this quote and it is said for a very good reason. group versus group competition was a principal driving force that made us what we are. In prehistory, group selection lifted the hominids that became territorial carnivores to heights of solidarity, to genius, to enterprise and to fear (Wilson 1). Competition was necessary and it will until the end of humans. It has caused war but it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Ethical, Moral And Moral Theory The ethical reflections taught in this course, have generated awareness in to our own ethical reasoning allowing us to focus morality on our own lives. The ethical pluralism that is referred to by the title of our text helps to examine the various aspects of our own ethical moral theory. Ethical moral theory dominates our lives on a daily basis. Determining actions we consider being right or wrong depending on the availability of the situation. But, as situations vary, so does the reasoning behind activities. Although each individual has his/her own mindset and beliefs, the ethical moral standards which create the baseline of our own morality, differs with our individual teachings. The pluralistic approach conveyed through Hinman s text, describes various viewpoints of moral theory. Although these theories change with the dependence of the individual, there are basic principles that are accompanied by all. Many of these behaviors, although innocent at times, may have lasting effects on the moral righteousness in our culture. In culture, there are regular questions focusing the topic of judgement with ethical relativism, as discussed in Hinman s text. Judgement according to the Webster s Dictionary is the ability to make considered decisions or come to sensible conclusions. For the application of our own reflection, this definition will work. The theory of ethical relativism illustrates judgement of our own ethical or moral values may be judged by others who differ in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Reaction Paper On ECG Waveform BioMedical Matlab Thesis ECG WaveformJessica Garcia, BioMedical MatLab,Thesis Final Prof. Jonathan Ibera 11 9 17 An ECG, or electrocardiogram, is a waveform generated by the natural sinus rhythm of the heart. It is an electrical representation of the heart beat in form of what is known as a PQRST Complex. The physical generation of this sinusoidal heart rhythm waveform is generated by the expansion and contraction of the four different chambers of the heart that work collectively to pump blood through the human body. The biomedical piece of equipment used to measure this electrical activity of the heart is an Electro Cardiogram machine, also widely known as an ECG. This electrical signal is acquired by electrodes placed on the human body. On screen, the heart rate appears in form of a wave in which each pulse and different peaks if the waveform, known as the PQRST waveform, represents a small amount of an electrical signal. These signals have different peaks, which are representations of different levels of electrical intensity, are detected by the electrodes that then transmit the energy to a sensor that helps the processor measure the actual value of this peak. Below is a representation of the heart rate waveform and its named peaks. Upon analysis of these waveforms collected by medical professional, they are able to tell many things. They are able to analyze and assess regular heart rhythms as well as any other abnormal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Juxtaposition In Crime And Punishment In Fyodor Dostoyevsky s, Crime and Punishment, the conclusion of the novel plays an important role in resolving and reconciling a multitude of conflicts within the characters. For Dostoyevsky, the resolution of the story plays a significant purpose not only in resolving the various crimes committed, but additionally acting as a moral reassessment for the characters that helps the audience reflect upon their own morals as well. Accordingly, through Dostoyevsky s portrayal of the troubling abuses committed by the characters due to their lack of regard for the law, a large portion of the novelemphasizes the concept of a universal morality that should be intrinsic to humanity. • 16. Giorgio De Chirico s Art Giorgio De Chirico s art can be viewed one that evolved tremendously over time. However, his artwork portrayed a number of characteristics and traits that differentiated them from the works of other artists in his time. This is probably why his art remains a puzzling factor to many from the 20th Century to date. A wide use themes and concepts can be seen in a number of his works. He has played a huge role in shaping the surrealist works of art. As mentioned, Giorgio De Chirico s art differed immensely from those of artists at the time. As a result of this difference, he appeared to be left out and his work segregated especially by the French arts men and fellow surrealists. His art was characterized by symbolic objects. His manikins, for example were spotted without upper body parts or faces. They appeared bizarre. Mostly, his paintings comprised of natural inspirations. Even if he painted a building, the aspect of nature was seen in the outcome. Additionally, he used color so as to put emphasis of particular objects. He would use contrasting colors in his mannequins and would place them in odd sizes and relationships so as to create juxtaposition. An example of this can be seen in The Disquieting Muses, one of his works of art. Enigma is one of his most widely used themes. It can be seen his use of ordinary life objects and figures. These figures have been used in a context that does not appear ordinarily familiar. They all appear in a position or element that has been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Dramatic Irony In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter Nathaniel Hawthorne was born July 4th, 1804 in Salem, Massachusetts, an area still steepled with the Puritanical religion. As previously stated, Nathaniel Hawthorne was the grandson to two we ll know Puritan preachers, one who trailed and condemned people during the Salem Witch Trials. Hawthorne was raised by his mother, a single widow, and by a household full of women. Trying to escape this side of the family, Hawthorne added the w to his name as to avoid being considered related to the Hathornes before him, as if trying to avoid the shame and negative connotations coming with the name. Hawthorne wrote The Scarlet Letterin 1850 after being fired from his job in the Salems Customs House, forced to write as a living. Many people were outraged after reading the novel as it criticized Puritanical religion, which Hawthorne hadn t noticed until afterwards, and brought to light these hypocritical things people didn t want to see. Many people disliked Hawthorne as he criticized women writers harshly and in general didn t like the way some women lived their life such as his feminist friend Margaret Fuller. It also confused people as he criticized these women yet seemed to sympathize with Hester in the novel. Hawthorne seems to be a huge fan of irony in this novel as almost every chapter includes dramatic irony, which is when the audience understands what is happening but the characters don t. He uses dramatic irony having to do with religion, due to the fact that this is the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The sample size used in this study was relatively small and the authors also recommend alternative methods of testing the level of acculturation in the participants. The article, well being in cross cultural transitions, examines the effect of acculturation and contact difference on immigrant health (Cassidy, Haslam, Ramos Reicher, 2015). The study hypothesizes that immigrant s well being will be compromised if acculturation preferences are not met by their new community. The results show that there are negative implications for individuals if their contact preferences and actual contact with their new community differed. An important limitation of this study was that it could not isolate the contact variable, meaning it did not control for amount of contact immigrants had with their new communities. The article, assessing acculturation over time, studies Chinese and Korean American college students (Garcini, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Think about when you were in middle school or something, you got a question wrong on a test, you can now understand how to do it if you do corrections, you learned or discovered how to solve it correctly instead of getting it wrong every time. In the first story it talks about how Frank Calvert wants to make discoveries in Ancient Troy, but doesn t have all the funds to do it so he pairs with someone else named Heinrich Schliemann and they made a dig site where they believed Ancient Troy was. Eventually Calvert had to rely on Schliemann to fund it all and so Schliemann did the dig site his way. Unfortunately Schliemann s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

D Day During The World War II There are a lot of days throughout the landing on Normandy on June 6th, 1944, to get the Germans out of Paris, which then lead to pushing them out of France in late August 1944. D day was a significant day because it helped end World War Two . It was the day that had started the chain effect to ending World war Two, an example of this is on December 16, 1945, the Battle of the Bulge. This was when the last of Germany s troops went 50 mile across the Allies defences creating what is known as a bulge. Growing up from the beginning of our education, we were taught that all the information that one needs to know about a certain subject is in the textbook. However, a textbook is written by an author, who can give a very different interpretation on history. Since the textbook is under their publishment, they have the right to include or exclude certain things. Referring back to my early education, there are many things that I remember being taught in class but as my education level grew broader, I learned more about certain things in history that was not taught to me threw the textbook. The textbook can definitely twist the story up if you re not given all the facts of the matter. In Judith Rollins... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Questions like this are not brought up for discussion in Foner s, Give Me Liberty. Eric Foner does not challenge history within his writing. The major manufacturers all produce numerous models of both motorhomes and travel trailers and utilize easily reconfigurable production assembly lines with relatively small production runs per model. Dealer orders are the catalyst to reconfigure assembly lines and produce individual models. In 2008 and 2009 orders and sales were low, but like a lot of other industries 2010 saw a very robust growth spurt totaling 46.2% over the previous two years. Total shipments were reported at 243,000 units which encompassed a retail value increase of 69.5%, more than $8.7 billion. Even further, Richard Curtain has predicted through analysis conducted by his economic research team at the University of Michigan that RV shipments will increase 7.4% in 2011 over the previous year. This is due to the customer base that this market is able to bring to the table. Analysis Of Craig Mullaney s Novel The Unforgiving Minute One of the most interesting and fascinating aspects of the Army is learning about the experiences of the individuals that drive the organization. Due to the nature of the organization, the members of the United States Army come from all walks of life, all with unique backgrounds and experiences. Consequentially, the Army is a highly versatile and diverse organization that can accomplish almost any mission. Similarly, the leadership training and education of Craig Mullaney received at West Point, Ranger School, and Oxford were designed to provide him with the necessary knowledge and experience to overcome his challenges he faced in Afghanistan. Essentially, these institutions honed his internal qualities such as hard work and dedication to enable him to lead soldiers. The name of Mullaney s novel, The Unforgiving Minute, describes a unique situation: a point in time when a decision or action must be taken to overcome a difficult scenario, specifically a scenario where either decision leads to a negative outcome. Based on the novel, the unforgiving minute Mullaney faced was when his convoy was ambushed and he lost a soldier. Essentially, the decision he made was to have his dismounted squad assault an enemy position which resulted in an engagement where his soldier was fatally wounded. Yet if he had not ordered this assault, the same enemy position was waiting to detonate a large IED on the mounted convoy; an event which would have possibly lead to a large number of ... If you are forced to change, because of a threat then you have been coerced, and you now have lost a certain amount of freedom, but then again survival is the objective.
