Laertes Poison In Hamlet
The image is of a bottle of poison with skull and crossbones on it. This connects with the character
Laertes, as he used poison in his attempt at revenge. The reason for the revenge is that Hamlet
killed Polonius and Laertes wants to avenge his father s wrongful death. Laertes challenges Hamlet
to a fencing match, which would most likely not be lethal, but he dips the end of his blade in
poison. During the match Laertes stabs Hamletwith the poisoned blade. Hamlet picks up the blade
soon after he is stabbed and uses it on Laertes. This leads to both of their deaths, but they do not
die angry at each other as Laertes asks for forgiveness and tells Hamlet that Claudius is tell blame.
This allows Hamlet to avenge he own father s death before

Here I got an opportunity to work on my interest area of Robotic Process Automation, Data
Analytics and Machine learning, an area where data play a key role. Here I acquainted with how a
superior enterprise application should have structured and exhaustive data collection capabilities to
support the enterprise in various ways, e.g. finding process improvement areas, arriving/ predicting
future sales goals, optimization of resource usage and many more. I can tell my keenness to grasp
this part at this time.
It reminds me of the day when I received my high school certificate and ought to elect subjects
for my 10+2 (Senior Secondary). As I have secured equally decent marks in both Biology and
Math, accordingly I had two options for 10+2 major, either Biology for medical and related
streams or Math for engineering and related streams. The day was Sunday and as usual, I was
scanning through a morning newspaper, customarily, Sunday newspaper used to have additional
supplementary pages that consist of articles on diverse topics in current affairs. Suddenly I spotted
an article titled Computers: World s Smartest Machines . While article comprised wonderful insight
on the progress of computing technology and its capabilities, it broached few futuristic ideas like by
using Artificial Intelligence a computer will be able to do tasks that require smart human like
judgments. Moreover, they can be an effective and convenient tool in research,

Sacrifice In The Hunger Games
What is sacrifice? If you type that question into google the first definition you read is, An act of
slaughtering an animal or person or surrendering a possession as an offering to God or to a
divine or supernatural figure. What do you identify sacrifice to be, How would you define it?
This is a two part hidden question posed by Suzanne Collins to her readers as well as Katniss
Everdeen in the book The Hunger Games where the daunting future of North America, known as
Panem, is divided into 12 districts and governed by the Capitol. Every year they select 24 innocent
tributes ages 12 18, 2 from each district to fight to the death on a TV show called the Hunger
Games. Throughout the book Katniss Everdeen, the main character, makes many sacrifices,... Show

As Rue is doing this Katniss speaks to Rue, I d have thought, in District Eleven, you d have a bit
more to eat than us. You know, since you grow the food (Collins 202). Katniss has always
struggled to provide food and thinks since district eleven is agriculture they get more food. Rue
replies Oh, no, we re not allowed to eat the crops. She continues They whip you and make everyone
else watch (Collins 202). Rue communicates to Katniss that even though they grow it, they can t eat
it because it goes to the Capitol. After this conversation Katniss recognizes that other people
sacrifice pain, such as whipping in order to get more food and survive. Far along in the games
Katniss and Peeta are hiding in a cave so Peeta can rest and heal from his wounds that he
received from Cato a career tribute, when Peeta and Katniss get on the subject of food
sacrificing. Peeta mentions that a lot of the food his family gets is, Too expensive for my family
to eat. Unless it s gone very stale. Of course, practically everything we eat is stale (Collins 309).
Peeta is explaining that even though they are shopkeepers they struggle to afford food as well,
just like anyone else in the district. It s after this remark that Katniss s previous idea, assuming
the shopkeepers lived a soft life, is proved untrue. She realizes the districts altogether sacrifice to
live and provide food for their families not matter their prestige in life. This causes Katniss to
reflect back on her conception of sacrifice starts to truly

Summary Of Income Inequality
In the article where Michael Shermer has his commentary, the skeptical side of income inequality
is discussed. The article is very unique because it is a bunch of critics that respond to Michael
Shermer s claim that the U.S. is still the land of equal opportunity. Many scholars criticize Shermer
s skepticism that the income inequality is not as large as people perceive it to be in the United States
. In one case, Shermer responds to a critic and he highlights how the rich and poor are not that far
apart, emphasizing how many economists believe that poverty can be reduced to 0% by 2100,
some believing even by 2050. Shermer concludes his response to the critic by signing off saying
that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation predicted poverty... Show more content on

The significance of income inequality has a major effect on the wellbeing of the social and
economic makeup of the United States. It is not just an impulse, but a civic duty for every citizen of
the country to partake in enacting their opinion. As Jean Jacques Rousseau, the renowned French
philosopher whose enlightened thinking influenced many of the Founding Fathers of the United
States put it, The very right to vote imposes on me the duty to instruct myself in public affair,
however little influence my voice may have in them. The uniqueness of the extraordinary
government of the United States resides in the fact that its citizens partake in having an impact that
best suits their interests. After considering the facts and numerous perspectives on whether a large
income inequality distribution is positive or negative, you think back on your construction
experience. Was what you witnessed that one day at your construction job in the nearby building
an actual fact or was what you witnessed a hallucination of an oasis in your mind from the

Rap and Moral character
In the article Rap and Moral Character by Susan Dwyer, the subject of concern is the
consequences of listening to rap music and the effect it has on moral character. The author argues
that rap music contribute to the corruption of moral character, it is misogynistic, promotes
violence and street crime. In this paper I will examine the author s claims, use of key concepts,
and her reasoning. By doing so, I will be able to demonstrate that Dwyer s thesis is unjust and
unsupported. In what follows, I will analyze the claims to show that the author s arguments are
irrelevant and lack sufficient evidence to support her thesis. Secondly, I will examine the author s
reasoning to point out fallacious reasoning and lastly I will evaluate her use of... Show more content

He raises awareness through his music and by speaking in public. K aane is an advocate for
women and children that are affected by this matter. He has raised thousands of dollars to
support this cause. Rap music can send out positive messages about equality and change. The
author has committed a few fallacious arguments in the article. One of the fallacies that stood out
to me was the fallacy of presumption. It was stated as; people that choose to listen to and watch
such material on a regular basis are saying something about their own moral character, about what
they value, about who they are. Seeking out such material is like seeking out and choosing to
watch portrayals of atrocities, such as rapes and violence. This argument is invalid and unsound.
The author is in the wrong for making such statement. Rap music is just like country and rock
music. People enjoy listening to different types of music for various reasons, one of which can be
for entertainment purposes. Listening to and watching rap music does not determine a person s
moral character and who they are as a person. In contrast the author can take the position to defend
that the argument raised is valid and sound. People who enjoy listening to and watching such
degrading videos, crass material, and violence are saying something about their character and what
they value as a person. The author s use of key concepts

Milk Curd Mass Lab Report
Title
Which type of milk produced the greatest amount of curd mass?
Purpose
The purpose of this lab was to determine which type of milk produced the greatest amount of curd
mass.
Background InformationWhat is milk curd? Milk curd is a secondary result of the effects of acid
and enzymes on milk proteins and lipids. When acid is added to milk, this causes the milk to
separate into curds and whey (Suleiman).
Cow s milk is made up of 87% water and 13% solids; these solids include minerals, lactose, fats,
and proteins. Chemically, these milk proteins are made up of the two main proteins: casein and
whey. 3.4% of milk solids contain these two main proteins ( The Chemistry of Milk ). The specific
milk protein casein makes up 80% of this composition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Type of Milk vs. Curd Mass lab, it was found that Fairlife Ultra Filtered Milk produced the
most amount of curd mass. Because this dairy company Fairlife reconstitutes the composition of
the milk after it is pasteurized, this creates a higher ratio of protein to other milk components.
The Fairlife Ultra Filtered Milk produced on average 5.6 grams of curd mass. The Whole milk,
which was the control, produced on average 3.4 grams of curd mass. Whenever there is a higher
amount of protein present in any type of milk, these proteins will denature when mixed with acid
and much more curd will be present. This lead to the greatest amount of curd mass in Fairlife Ultra
Filtered Milk in comparison to the whole milk, lactose free milk, and organic milk.

Slavery During The United States
It seems as though slavery has always been etched into our history since the beginning of time.
The first recordings of slaves are from the Biblical times. From the Babylonian s, 18th century
BC; to the abolishment of slavery in the United States, 1865; people across the world endured the
hardships of slavery. People of all races were enslaved, from the Jews to the African American
people. The Jewish people suffered a great deal from the Holocaust, according to, the Detroit
News, Germany has agreed to pay the Jewish survivors $89 billion in reparations

(infoplease.com). Although this was a step in the right direction, African Americans were still
discriminated against, beaten and separated from the whites.
Many leaders came about during these times in order to lead the African American people out of
racism and to establish equal rights for themselves. Many well known activists such as W.E.B
DuBois, Booker T. Washington, Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X all paved the way for African
Americans and their advancement. But it was not until the Civil Rights Movement, led by Martin
Luther King, Jr, that made major strides for the African American people.
The Civil Rights Movement, ...is the courage and tenacity people showed in their own communities
in their determination to attack segregation and exclusion from the political process. (The African
American Odyssey, pg 596.) The Civil Rights focused on peaceful protests, and non violent acts.
The March on Washington held great significance. Many people believe the Civil Rights movement
was a success, but there were also some people who believed the Civil Rights failed the African

The Normal Heart Rate Of A Daphnia Magna
Introduction The purpose of this lab was to determine the normal heart rate of a Daphnia Magna
and decipher the different effects that various substances had on it. A Daphnia Magna is a
species of water fleas and can be located in the Northern United Sates against the coastline of the
Atlantic in rocky pools. The water flea s habitat consists of rivers and streams, temporary pools,
lakes and ponds, and brackish water. The Daphnia Magna range from two to five millimeters in
length and are shaped like a kidney bean (Elenbaas, Molly). Relating to this lab experiment we
learned in class that the normal heart rateis measured anywhere between 60 and 100 beats per
minute (BPM). If your resting BPM is measured at a level above the number 100 it is known as
Tachycardia. This term indicates that your heart level has exceeded the normal range. Also if
your heart rate is indicated below 60 then it is called Bradycardia, which means the heart is
beating slower than normal. When your heart rate is affected by a substance in the body it is
called a Chronotropic agent. When the heart rate decreases because of a substance or chemical it
is called a negative Chronotropic and when it is affected oppositely by increasing it is known as a
positive Chronotropic agent. In this experiment we added many different substances to the slide on
which the water flea was placed to calculate the increase or decrease in its heart rate due to the
ingredients in the substances. The first substance used was

The Ethical Dilemma Of Global Urbanization Essay
Abstract
A brief summary of this writing s content would showcase the ethical dilemma of global
urbanization, especially as it relates to China; while providing examples of specific problems
therein (namely environmental), and concluding that the ethical thing to do (consequentialism
utilitarianism), would be to use as many clean/green energy alternatives (mitigating coal use) to fuel
developing economic urban sprawls in the near future. Keywords: Urbanization, Urban Sprawl,
Coal, Nuclear, China, Development, Economics
Urbanization in the future of our ever expanding and developing world brings with it many ethical
issues concerning decisions regarding potential population increases, energy resource needs, and
environmental impacts, that seem to increase exponentially as mankind advances globally. The
evidence of increasing urbanization is easy to find in in many metropolitan areas, and in news
articles outlining the plans of nations to create jobs infrastructure, in order to stimulate economies
and strengthen their societies. The case is made most evident in East Asian countries currently
undergoing something akin to a moderate upheaval in terms of their societal economic emergence,
namely: China India; two counties famed in recent times due to their rapid economic development.
And although both countries are undergoing rapid development, it would seem that China
especially has the most potential for large scale and modern urban sprawl, while simultaneously

Theodore Roosevelt Personality
Mister Theodore Roosevelt, a man of reputation and influence, dominion and power, superiority
and supremacy. No man embodied Manifest Destiny so exactly: winning a war, becoming a hero
and taking our country s powers to international borders. From Governor of New York, the
Presidential Seat, and beyond, Mister Theodore Rooseveltchanged from an average American to the
President of the United Statesof America, and finally to a status of legendary inspiration. His
actions paved a path for aspirants and nobodies alike, to do something and become phenomenal
beings in their own right!
Mister Theodore Roosevelt participated in the Spanish American War, which took place in Cuba.
He managed the 1st regiment of the United States Volunteer Cavalry, popularly known as the Rough
Riders. Furthermore, He succeeded in leading his regiment through battle and in capturing vantage
points, effectively pronouncing him as a hero and a source of trust.
Later in the Oval Office, Mister Theodore Roosevelt found himself against a union of striking coal
miners. From that position, Presidents usually sent the Army to quell and subdue any
demonstrators. Contrarily, Mister Theodore Roosevelt innovatively allowed for meeting and
negotiating with the strike s leaders, which, however, failed to disband the strike. Concordantly,
Mister Theodore Roosevelt called in for the Army, seized operations of the coal mine, and resumed
the efficiency of the mine. Doomed to perish if they did not change themselves

International Monetary Fund Argentina Project And Its...
The International Monetary Fund Argentina Project and its problems and outcomes
One project of the International Monetary Fund was a series of loans given to the country of
Argentina in the 1990s through 2001. In the 1990s many investors and brokers looked to Argentina
for investments as they rated its economy as one of the world s strongest (Blustein, 2003, Aug 3). It
was at this time that Argentina first started to follow the International Monetary Fund formula for
economic stabilization in development including reducing budget in balance of payment deficits,
raising interest rates, reducing inflation, privatizing state assets, and reducing trade barriers and
regulation on capital flows in and out of the country (Paddock, 2002, p. 158). These policies
helped reduce the hyper inflationary levels that Argentina had reached during the 1980s. This
positive outlook may have prevented a needed change in the economic policies when the effects of
the Mexican peso crisis in 1995 placed Argentina s economy in a brief recession. It wasn t until
1998 that Argentine policymakers discussed the country s finances with a senior official of the
International Monetary Fund who sounded the alarm that the country might be headed for an Asian
style melt down. However despite the warning significant economic changes were not made, in part
due to the confidence that money could be easily acquired from the International Monetary Fund
(Blustein, 2003, Aug 3). In 1999 the financial

Emily Grierson Narrator
In A Rose for Emily, William Faulkner uses the narrator to describe Emily Grierson s long standing
title in the community, provide background information about Emily, and also to encompass the

notorious Emily Grierson. In the town of Jefferson, simply saying the name Grierson guaranteed to
make all ears within hearing range perk up in an effort to gather new information about the

The narrator seems to be ever present through the town and knows as much as, if not more than,
the other men and women in the community. This is first depicted when Emily begins to see a
man, Then we said, She will persuade him yet, because Homer himself had remarked he liked
men, and it was known that he drank with the younger men in the Elks Club that he was not a
marrying man. (224). Another instance is when the narrator said, Already we knew that there
was one room in that region above stairs which no one had seen in forty years, and it would have
to be forced. They waited until Miss Emily was decently in the ground before they opened it,
(226) but the narrator never explains how this was known. William Faulkner used the narrator as
an almost omniscient voice, for the narrator knows what everyone else in the town has seen and
thought about Emily; however, Faulkner keeps Emily s thoughts private in order to preserve her
enigmatic character. Another benefit provided to the narrator was the fact that he/she was not
given a gender or set identity. Then some of the ladies began to say that it was a disgrace to the
town and a bad example to the young people. The men did not want to interfere... (224) By keeping
the narrator unclassified, Faulkner was able to incorporate the narrator with

Trust In The Odyssey
Trust is an incredible trait to have. Some may say that without trust the world wouldn t go around.
But what exactly is trust? Merriam Webster defines trust as one in which confidence is placed (
Trust ). Confidence is a whole big impact that goes along with the feeling of trust. Being a
trustworthy person means that people can rely on you for things. Trustcan lead to a lot of danger
also. If trust is broken, There can be a lot of lack of communication because someone might not
trust you with some things. Trust might not come as just vocally trust. When you are asked to do
something a certain way, you are trusted you will get it done in that way. Trust is a very important
thing in everyday life.
Trust and confidence are not the same thing. Yes you can have confidence in someone but trust is
more. Confidence is more of a self worth trait. You can find confidence when out on the
basketball court free throw line. In order to score and shoot you have to have confidence in
yourself to do so. Confidence can also be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Role Of Men In The Odyssey
There are no Gods, no kings, only men. Gods do not have power over men because men have
free will and can choose to defy the deity. Men have been known to manipulate the beliefs in God
for their own benefit. By the definition of a God, the God should have complete control over
everything, but men are able to make their own choices and even have to potential to make the
Gods mad. Men having freewill directly contradicts the idea that Gods have complete control over
everything. Men even bend and twist the words of said Gods into their own rhetoric in which they
create the illusion of a Godand it s power. In creating their own God, men can intimidate the
populous and pretend their deity is all mighty, such as Scientology does with Lord Xenu,... Show

Activities like blasphemy, robbery, murder and mutilation still occur and there is nothing
anyone can do about it. Such as in the Odyssey when Odysseus blinds the Cyclops, the son of
Poseidon. Poseidon is powerless and can do nothing to help his son, even though his legends
claim that he is omnipotent. In today s world, there is massive shootings and bombings; every
time it happens people are told to pray. Pray for the ones who lost their love ones in such a
dangerous attack, pray for the country so they may be able to recuperate, but if praying really
did work these kinds of activities would seize to happen, this goes to show that Gods have no
power over the events of men, and if they do, they don t care to use it. Praying to a supposed
deity is the worst thing a man could do, doing nothing is one thing, but talking to an all powerful
God and asking them for help is not only psychotic, but offensive to the suffers. If a person really
wants to help, sitting on their ass and talking to the air won t help anyone, if they really want to
help, they ll donate money, go to said country and help take care of the injured, or even donate
blood and organs, but speaking to someone who obviously isn t listening is a lost cause. If Gods
really wanted men to believe in them, they d somehow demonstrate their power, instead of letting

By the same token, 71 percent of respondents believe that drinking and driving is more

they are smaller sized people they will be way more intoxicated than a heavier person, because
heavier people can dilute alcohol faster. However, if a person is drinking and driving and if the
police catch them, they have to use the breathalyzer and if they blow a 0.8 or more they will be

The Development Of Data Warehouse Essay
3. Traditional ETL process
3.1 Traditional ETL During ETL process, data from many sources will be extracted and integrated
into data warehouse periodically. Extraction is a process to identified and retrieve all relevant data
from the sources. The role of transformation is to cleansing the data and integrated different schema
to defined schema in data warehouse. Meanwhile, loading is a process to physically move the data
from operational system to data warehouse.
3.1.1 ETL Concept
It is necessary to define ETL scope by analyzing each target table (its dimension and facts) at the
beginning of ETL architecture process. It is necessary to fetch the behavior of each target table;
where its source is and what kind of business process that depend on it.
3.1.1.1. Metadata
In the early development of data warehouse, integration is formed by making specific ETL
program for the structure of source database and data warehouse database. As the time passed
by, it is found that those specific ETL programs essentially are doing the same process. Many
block programs are reusable for another ETL process. At this point, ETL tools that can do
automated data integration to data warehouse are developed. To put it briefly, metadata is data
about data. Specially, metadata ETL is data about ETL process. Defining metadata ETL is
necessary to build ETL program with high reusability

Cause And Effect Of Bullying In School
Dr.Martin Luther King Jr states that In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies but
the silence of our friends this quote develops the idea that friends standing up and speaking up for
the victim is more valuable than silence in the moment and they re comfort when no one else is
present. Bullyingin school affects the students as it may cause distractions or long term problems
among children. Depending on how bystanders respond, they can either contribute to the
problem or the solution when it comes to the initial conflict. Some people genuinely do not
know what to do to help, others fear the bully will seek them out next as a target. To really help
in a bullying encounter you have to know what responsibility you have in the situation.
Bystanders may not think they are in the wrong for leaving the conflict alone but really they are
just as much part of the problem as the bully themselves. The barriers to intervening are both real
and powerful for young people. For youths it is a very real possibility that doing the proper thing
for someone else will equate to doing the wrong thing for their own social status. When bystanders
intervene they can stop bullying within 10 seconds over 50% of the time (bscsd.org bystanders).
To empower kids to speak up and stand up they must be taught how to effectively assess the
situation at hand and recognize if it is safe to say something themselves or better inform and adult
about it. As well as teaching them from

The Importance Of Racial Inequality
Social inequality is a recurring problem throughout, not only the country, but the world. There are
all kinds of inequalities throughout the world, and without any person or thing creating
awarenesses this will induce more pandemonium. With that being said, in order to terminate
racial inequality, people that are capable of bringing awareness to it need to start producing
familiarity locally because it will suddenly erupt onto a more global impact. When analyzing
how starting to bring awareness to social inequities and raise awareness at a local level can turn
global and change the world, one who explores the specifics of racial discrimination can aware
others about the dangers and results of this certain inequality. Politics, professional athletes
protesting, and media discrimination are ways people have been making local awareness a global
reality. In the end, with more and more awareness, more and more people will help end inequalities
throughout the world. To begin, awareness of global issues within politics happen all of the time;
therefore, bringing awareness to racial inequality within politics will spread globally and change the
world. Racial discrimination occurring inside of the American government is between Donald
Trump and the Mexican culture. The most emphasized facts Trump stated throughout his campaign
and carried through his presidency is to build a wall on the border of the United States and Mexico,
keeping all illegal immigrants out of the country.

International Franchising
Abstract
This paper is concerned with evaluating the structure, history, cultural aspects, leading businesses,
and the future of international franchising. Franchising has become an increasingly popular market
entry mode, and the use of franchise systems for expansion into international markets is expected to
continue and perhaps intensify. (Arthur Anderson, 1996) These business franchises appear as hotel
chains, fast food restaurants, and many others. The first section examines the definition of
franchising by giving an overview of franchising from an international perspective. The historical
section traces this form of business ownership from its beginnings in the Middle Ages to the current
trend in international expansion. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Over the course of time, the regulations governing franchises became a part of European Common
Law. Throughout the centuries the franchising concept has evolved as the economies of the nations
of the world have evolved. During the early 1800s in Germany, certain major ale brewers granted
franchises to certain taverns, giving those taverns the exclusive right to sell their ale. This marked
the beginning of the concept of franchising as we know it today. In 1851, the Singer Sewing
Company became the forerunners of modern franchising agreements through the contracts that it
would associate with its franchising activities. In the 1880s, cities began to grant monopoly
franchises to street car companies and utilities for water, sewerage, gas, and later, electricity.
Another stage in the evolution of franchising came around the turn of the 20th century when oil
refinery companies and the automobile manufacturers began to grant the right to sell their products.
Business format franchising, which is the dominant mode of franchising today, came onto the
economic scene after World War II with the return of the millions of U.S. servicemen and women
causing the subsequent baby boom. Franchising became the ideal business model for the rapid
expansion of the hotel/motel and fast food industries. International franchising started its
beginnings in the early 1960 s. However, the explosion of the 1960s and 70s saw many forms of
abuse in the

First Hand Portrait A breeze quietly swept by. I opened my eyes and looked up into the cloudless

Racial Diversity In Schools
While racial diversity in schools has been stressed by many scholars, its importance has been
excessively recognized by society. Therefore, it would make sense that individuals who are most
qualified would reach their maximum potential, yet many students across the country are
discriminated based on their ethnicity because diversity is needed in the classroom. Even though
diversity spreads ideas and cultures, should the issue of the lack of diversity be the main concern of
schools? The common argument that diversity in schools would be beneficial is tenuously held
because of the many reasons that continue to prove that diversity in schools is a miniscule factor in
the improvement of education. Although diversity in schools will allow students to socialize with
others of different races, the absence of diversity will allow equally qualified students of different
races to excel, allow foreign students to retain their cultural identity, and prevent the social
alienation of races in cliques.
When applying to colleges, can we say that the fear racial groups such as Asian Americans have
when bubbling in what ethnicity they are is justified? Colleges have been pushed to include
diversity in their campuses, and while this provides more opportunities for minorities, it lessens the
acceptance rate for Asians tremendously. In 1996, California banned state universities from
considering race and ethnicity in admissions decisions and Princeton professor Thomas Espenshade

How Is Rembrandt Portrayed In The Portrait Of A Musician
The man portrayed in Rembrandt s Portrait of a Musician (1633)
There are some art works about which there are ongoing discussions. One of those art works is
Portrait of a Musician , or Man with a Sheet of Music (1633), presumably by Rembrandt (1606
1669). While some scholars believe the man portrayed in this portrait to be the German musician
and composer Heinrich SchГјtz, other theories about the identity of this man exist, too. One of
those theories, suggesting that the man portrayed is actually Constatijn Huygens, seems the most
convincing. The theory that the man portrayed in the portrait is Heinrich SchГјtz (1585 1672), a
German composer, was first suggested in 1937 by Bruno Maerker (Brook and Oja). He compared
three known portraits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, the argumentation would only be reliable if the painter of the portrait is truly
Rembrandt. In 1969, H. Gerson, a well known Rembrandt scholar, expressed his doubt that
Rembrandt painted the portrait, suggested that Rembrandt s pupil Jacob Backer painted the portrait
instead, and based his argument on details in the painting he believed showed that Rembrandt did
not paint it, for example the way how the painting of the hands was performed (Brook and Oja).
He is not the only scholar who has doubts. In his letter reacting to Hevesy s publication in 1936,
J.S. Held suggests that the music scroll must have been added later (Held). However, the
legitimacy of the portrait has been generally accepted. The website of the National Gallery of Art in
Washington, where the portrait is currently located, states Rembrandt van Rijn as artist (National

Social Justice In Amazing Grace

treatment, discrimination, and suffering. They have a right to good education, And a right to

The Sixties And The End Of Collapsing
In terms of the amount of political upheaval that took place, the 1960s is probably the most
fascinating decade post World War II to study historically. To understand how the country was
almost at the brink of collapsing, one must survey one of the prominent political actors during the
decade: the student movement. According to William H. Chafe in The Unfinished Journey, the
student movement emerged from the feeling that President John F. Kennedys insistent call for the
young to fulfill America s unfulfilled promises was a mandate for action. Yet, the conclusions made
about the student movement in the 1960s are still contested today. David Steigerwald, author of
The Sixties and the End to Modern America scrutinizes the student... Show more content on

While Chafe s use of the Port Huron Statement is more so a summary of the attitudes of the student
movement, Steigerwald offers a critique of the student movement s ambitions. Steigerwald does not
deny that the Port Huron Statement was bold, stating that its critiques of U.S. Cold Warforeign
policy were both realistic and prescient and that the ideals presented in the statement were meant as
an antidote to the ills of bureaucratized society. Personal fulfillment was to be realized through civic
participation . However, Steigerwald argues that the deepest flaw of the student movement was that
it could encourage mere rebelliousness masquerading as radicalism, a phony radicalism that saw
politics as a vehicle for exhibitionism and self assertion rather than change . Steigerwald s critique
questions whether the student movement actually aimed to challenge the apparent status quo of the
American political landscape. Steigerwald s critique is in accordance with the larger historical
critique of the counterculture movement of the 1960s that the movement did not make the impact
that it intended to make. Chafe joins with Steigerwald on the critical

Alcohol Abuse Effects
Overcoming the Negative Effects of Alcoholism with Ibogaine Treatment
Many people, including alcoholics, are not fully aware of the devastation caused by alcohol abuse.
Not only does alcohol have an impact on physical health, it causes a host of problems from a mental
and emotional standpoint. This addiction is not only harmful to the body, it tears families apart,
leads to job loss, and often causes isolation for the person who drinks.

The problem in treating alcoholism is that many methods fail. An innovative treatment called
Ibogaine is available for people who suffer from alcohol abuse and full blown alcoholism.
Ibogaine is an active alkaloid that comes from an isolated root of the Tabernanthe iboga plant
native to Central West Africa. Interestingly, the Bwiti African tribe has used this alkaloid for
thousands of years for its powerful healing abilities but also in rite of passage ceremonies.
During the 1960s, this active alkaloid was found to help stop withdrawal symptoms associated with
both opiates and heroin. Since that time, it has been a vital treatment for all types of addictions.
Commonly referred to as the waking dream , an individual remains awake throughout the duration
of the 12 to 24 hour Ibogaine experience. For optimal results, Ibogaine is administered at the peak
of withdrawal symptoms, thereby treating both physical and psychological addiction.
With the Ibogaine experience, withdrawal symptoms are dramatically alleviated. Although how the
process works is a mystery to experts, it is known that this alkaloid refreshes and resets the brain s
receptors. Severely damaged levels of dopamine and serotonin caused by addiction return to normal

Business Skills For A New Home
The job requirements are straight forward and do not ask for much. Some of the duties consists of
promoting property through ads, open houses and listing services. Advertising is key to attract
potential buyers and spread your business name around. Advising clients on prices of homes,
current market conditions and other market information also come into play. Taking prospective
buyers to view properties and persuading them to consider investing in a new home. As well as
bringing together negotiations between the buyerand seller. These are just a few things that the real
estate business will ask for.
I believe I have all the personal characteristics and skills needed to be a sales agent or broker. I plan

brokers are self employed. This means they have to maintain a functional business without
wasting money and losing valuable time. Great business skills come in handy when you run

reaction time. Problem solving skills aren t going to be frequently used but nevertheless, you
can never over prepare for the worst. Organizations skills can help have your work space clean

A patent is a twenty year exclusive monopoly on the right to make, use and sell a qualifying
invention. This legal monopoly is considered a reward for the time and effort expended in creating
the invention. In return, the invention must be described in detail to the Patent Office, which
publishes the information, thus increasing the amount of technological knowledge available to the
public. To obtain a U.S. patent, an inventor must apply to the Patent Office and demonstrate that the
invention is new (as compared to prior technology), useful, and nonobvious. An invention is
nonobvious if it is more than a trivial, obvious next step in the advance of the technology. Software
patents can be extremely powerful economic tools. They can protect features of a program that
cannot be protected under copyright or trade secret law. For example, patents can be obtained for
ideas, systems, methods, algorithms, and functions embodied in a software product: editing
functions, user interface features, compiling techniques, operating system techniques, program
algorithms, menu arrangements, display presentations or arrangements, and program language
translation methods. Since patent rights are exclusive, anyone making, using or selling the

Prohibition Of Marijuana, Heroin, And Other Drugs
It is also possible that drug users are irrational decision makers and might not understand the
adverse long term effects and addictive properties. Prohibition should reduce demand through legal
penalties; however, since not all drug users are rational choice makers, demand can increase by
creating a forbidden fruit effect. The consequences of increased use add to the complexity and costs
of enforcement on both drugusers and the general population. Drug users, trying to avoid the legal
consequences of their use, often times interact with non users in ways that are harmful and costly.
Additionally, non users are also impacted by increased taxes to pay for the enforcement, by
regulations to check for drugs that take time and are inconvenient, and by becoming innocent
bystanders that can get caught in the middle of attempted arrests, often with deadly affects.
The long federal experiment in prohibition of marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and other drugs has given
us unprecedented crime and corruption combined with a manifest failure to stop the use of drugs or
reduce their availability to children. The factor that determines the amount of violence created by
prohibition is the level of enforcement. There are two main reasons for this. One, black markets
only form when the enforcement is very strict and, two, increasingly strict enforcement leads to
violence both in making arrests and as competing suppliers seek to capture market share. The
violence not only impacts those

Pmf Job Fair Essay
After attending the PMF Job fair on Monday, I ve learned more information about the process
that I thought would be helpful to pass along. The purpose of the Presidential Management
Fellowship is to recruit candidates for jobs that are traditionally harder to fill and provide them
with the training needed to become a leader in that role. Although the agency would have to pay
a $7,000 fee and also fund 160 hours of training within the 2 years of the fellowship, this is an
opportunity for the agency to recruit qualified staff at a fraction of the cost. Regular positions
are often converted into PMF positions to fill agencies needs by the designated Human

of this two year fellowship, if I receive favorable scores on my performance review, I move up to a
GS 11/12. At the end of the fellowship, if I continue to do well on evaluations I advance to a GS
12/13. Usually, PMF s are converted to permeant or term positions however this up to the

Dollar General Case
Be that as it may, developing an ideal healthcare system will call for requisite transformational
changes in authenticating the ideological construct of both the primary care and primary medical.
In view of the previous studies and comments posted by profound scholars in the nursing
mainstream, primary care and primary medical has been in the forefront in championing for
transformational changes towards ensuring capacity building and boosting the lifestyle of the
humanity. In a strong sense, establishing an extensive healthcare system would ensure that there is
an excellent relationship between the medics and the patients. This perception would ensure that
the two parties in question develops a connection through a system of shared values and common
objectives.
Hence, restructuring the primary care and primary medical would enhance quality of the services
offered in the healthcare sector and also boost the reward performance for most health care
professionals. Based on the country s health care system, establishing an exclusive transformational

The mouthwash market can be segmented into three groups, based on the frequency of use:
1.heavy users: use the product once per day or more and constitute 40% of the market; heavy users
most likely want the basic features of a mouthwash that allow for their basic oral hygiene; their

they want the most benefit for the amount that they are spending on the product and price is
probably an important consideration in their purchasing decision.

heavy users, the medium users use the product consistently and are seeking the basic benefits of a
mouthwash as a part of their hygiene habits; they are concerned with the price of the product since
they buy it relatively frequently, and will most likely purchase a product that provides the most
value for their money.

provides standardized information on quality, cost, and network providers, which helps people and
small business to select the health plan of choice (2013). Since North Carolina did not meet the

Therapeutic Aspects Of Photodynamic Therapy
The therapeutic properties of light have a long history. The ancient Indians discovered, in 1,000
BCE that light therapy, in addition to psoralens, a plant compound, could cure vitiligo (Barr, H. et
al., 2002). In the early 20th century, Niels Finsen s and his wife s treatment of lupus vulgaris with
ultra violet lightnotably earned them the Nobel Price (Barr, H. et al., 2002). A more modern
application of light s theraputic properties is photodynamic therapy. Photodynamic therapy destroys
tumours through the use of a photosensitizer, oxygen, and light in a wavelength specific to the
photosensitizer (Brown Ibbotson, 2009, p. 251; Barr, Kendall, Reyes Goddard Stone, 2002, p. 136).
First, the photosensitizer is administered (Brown Ibbotson,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is used in the detection of cancers, the targeting os photosensitisers, and for monitoring the
response to therapy (Celli et al., 2010). The same photosensitisers that are used in photodynamic
therapy can be used to outline cancerous tumours, especially useful for resections (Celli et al.,
2010). Photodynamic therapy works best when photosensitisers are targeted to tumours to avoid
side effects. The fluorescence of photosensitisers can be used to monitor their accumulation in
tissues (Celli et al., 2010). The fluorescent properties of photosensitisers mean that they can be
used for therapy and imaging and the same time (Celli et al., 2010). Before photodynamic therapy
can take place, the tumour must be assessed (Celli et al., 2010). Other information, such as
vascular patterns, which can be discerned from imaging, are useful for planning treatment (Celli
et al., 2010). Fluorescent imaging can also help in determining placement of fibres for light
delivery (Celli et al., 2010). One of the most successful uses of fluorescent imaging with
photodynamic therapy is in the treatment of macular degeneration (Celli et al., 2010). The
compound fluorescein is used to detect leaky areas in blood vessels, which are the targets for
photodynamic therapy (Celli et al., 2010). Fluorescent imaging is also used to monitor the dose
response to photodynamic therapy (Celli et al., 2010). Fluorescence has been used to determine the

The Causes of Muscoskeletal Pain
Summary From the mid 1980 s to present, the wealth of technology and automation has began to
take a toll on public health the work and home environments are inundated with technologies that
require little to no physical activity such as long commutes, the use of personal computers,
television and video games. Today more people work in offices, have longer work hours and are
physically inactive. This new environment produces unhealthy and non functional people and
increased incidence of injury. Past mandatory activities such as physically educated ar being cut
from schools, consequently people are less active and are no longer spending as much of their
free time engaged in physical activity. In 1985 the international obesity task force deemed the
presidence of obesity an epidemic. Today approx one third of adults are estimated to be obese, this
carries over to the adolescent population with 18 percent of adulenance and teenagers considered
overweight. When working with todays typical client and athletes health and fitness professionals
must take special consideration when designing exercise programmes. An integrated approach
should be used to create a safe programme that consider the functional capacity for each individual
person. They must address factor such as; appropriate forms of flexibility, increasing strength a
neuromuscular control and training in different types of environments. These are the bases for
using corrective exercise and the Nasm s corrective exercise

NFL Salary Cap-Healthy Case Study
Business matters will never be an easy process to keep things functioning in a positive direction.
Whether risk taking approaches spark trickle down effects or upward gains, he who steers the

pinching pennies will always save you a buck or two, but when it comes down to paying top
employees, the Benjamin Franklin s will always be up the ladder. In the NFL, one of the key
aspects for an organization is to shape up their salary cap for the betterment of sharing the wealth

Good Relationships At Gallup Organization
How valuable are good relationships in my organizational?
According to the Gallup Organization, people who have a best friend at work are seven times
more likely to be engaged in their jobs. And it doesn t have to be a best friend: Gallup found that
people who simply had a good friend in the workplace are more likely to be satisfied (Mind Tools
Ltd, 1996 2016). I can remember when I came aboard as Assistant Director in our organization,
one of my mentor s strongest words were, get to know people and let them know who you are.
First of all, there were a few I did not care to get to know, but for business purposes it was
important. My company purchased a new washer and dryer, but the person installed it, forget to
remove the screws that held down the drum inside the washer. The two devices were stacked on
top of each other. I ran the washer without taking out the screws and the dryer that was on top,
had fell onto the floor. Well, someone took a picture of the incident causing me to almost get fired.

value in building relationships. As an assistant director, if don t communicate people will forget

Wilsons Disease
Introduction
Wilson s disease is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder, where copper is unable to be
absorbed properly in the body and accumulates in tissue. This condition is known to have
neurological and psychiatric symptoms, due to lesions associated with copper build up in the
central nervous system, along with being associated with liver disease. It is related to a malfunction
in the Wilson disease protein gene on the 13th chromosome; a copper transporting P type ATPase
also known as ATP7B protein. I recently discovered that this disease runs in my family; both my
mother and father are carriers, and unfortunately my sister is affected by Wilson s Disease. I find
this interesting because the disease is so abnormally rare that the gene ... Show more content on

The Japanese did not respond. Later that day the U.S. received and decoded 13 out of 14
messages from Japan. These messages led the U.S. to believe that Japan was on the verge of
attacking somewhere in Southeast Asia. On December 7, the U.S. received the final part of the
Japanese message that all diplomatic relations were to be severed. Another message was
intercepted about an hour later. Due to delays the message could not be forwarded to Pearl

The Effects Of Alcohol And Drug Abuse On Criminal Activities
Discussion: Whilst many theorists have differing views on whether or not alcohol and drug
abuse is related to criminal activities, there are however a variety of preventative and
intervention methods known commonly as harm reduction . This theory aims to assist in society
s responses in how we intervene when it comes to drug abusers as well as how the use of drug
taking harms society itself. Such designed strategies aim to reduce and eventually stop substance
abuse. Harm reduction methods can come in the form of intervention programmes (such as
rehabilitation programmes), or access to health clinics and support groups that include needle
exchange services for drug injectors and these aim to lessen the after effects that are linked with
substance abuse and criminal activities. According to Newcombe, R. (1992), Harm Reduction can
be defined as a term that defines policies, programmes, services and actions that work to reduce
the health, social and economic harm , as well as to reduce the harms to individuals, communities
and society . Many local and international organisations can attest to and be evidence of the
usefulness of the harm reduction theories (each having their own or similar approaches). Some of
these organisations include Drugscope a popular UK charity, NTA National Treatment Agency (for
Substance Misuse), and also CCSA The Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse. The CCSA has a 4
step approach in how to deal with reducing harm for drug misusers and society.

The Burden Of Proof Is The Duty Of A Party
Introduction
The burden of proof is the duty of a party in a trial to produce the evidence that will shift the
conclusion away from the default position, to that party s own position. In a legal dispute, one
party is initially presumed to be correct and gets the benefit of the doubt, while the other side
bears the burden of proof. When a party bearing the burden of proof meets their burden, the
burden of proof switches to the other side. Burdens may be of different kinds for each party, in
different phases of litigation. (Wikipedia, 2017) For all cases, it is the responsibility of the
prosecution to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty and vice versa for the
defense. To start, the prosecution gave their argument:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The applicable code of the prosecution was to prove beyond reasonable doubt rather than just
speculation on the case and learning about what the actual presented evidence consists of.
The reason the O.J. Simpson s case is pivotal in the crimes in the United States of America is the
necessity of the prosecution to prove a case beyond reasonable doubt; the standard that no other
logical explanation can be derived from the facts except that the defendant committed the crime,
thereby overcoming the presumption that a person is innocent until proven guilty (Beyond a
Reasonable Doubt, 2008). Despite being a first degree murder case and a prima facie case, OJ
Simpson s was acquitted. The case came with a high public awareness concerning the prevalence
of domestic violence and difference. Also in the case of Casey; there was an expectation of
conviction due to the first evidence was given by the prosecution.
Opening Statements
The defense attorney was more convincing as compared to the prosecution. The attorney directs the
jury to seek what transpired and not to base their position on investigation directed to one person
only. He points out that the defense had a desperate investigation full of speculation and guessing.

Handmaids Tale Analysis
The Handmaid s Tale, a film based on Margaret Atwood s book depicts a dystopia, where
pollution and radiation have rendered innumerable women sterile, and the birthrates of North
America have plummeted to dangerously low levels. To make matters worse, the nation s
plummeting birth rates are blamed on its women. The United States, now renamed the Republic
of Gilead, retains power the use of piousness, purges, and violence. A Puritan theocracy, the
Republic of Gilead, with its religious trappings and rigid class, gender, and racial castes is built
around the singular desire to control reproduction. Despite this, the republic is inhabited by
characters who would not seem out of place in today s society. They plant flowers in the yard,
live in suburban houses, drink whiskey in the den and follow a far off a war on the television.
The film leaves the conditions of the war and the society vague, but this is not a political tale,
like Fahrenheit 451, but rather a feminist one. As such, the film, isolates, exaggerates and
dramatizes the systems in which women are the handmaidens of today s society in general and
men in particular. In the Republic of Gilead, children are seen as lawful possessions of wealthy,
powerful couples like the Commander and his wife. As such, women called handmaids have been
reduced to two basic functions, breeding and buying groceries. Moreover, since women are
prohibited to vote, write or read, the grocery store labels all of the products

Leonardo And Eyck Similarities
The Renaissance was from the late fourteenth century to the late sixteenth century. The word
Renaissance means rebirth in French. In this period of the arts, the paintings dramatically
improved. The individuals changed from flat two dimensional people to three dimensional, life like
figures. During the Renaissance, there were many artists including Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo
, and Jan van Eyck.
Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian painter who lived from 1452 to 1519. Although generally
known as a painter, Leonardo was also a superb inventor. He designed a rectangular parachute,
crafted a silver lyre, and sketched rapid firing cannons. Surprisingly, he recorded over five
thousand pages of notes from many different topics including anatomy and flight. Because he took
such a great interest in learning and experiments, Leonardo did not complete many paintings.
Sadly, he completed less than twenty works. His most famous painting was the Mona Lisa.
Toward the end of his life, Leonardo da Vinci later traveled to converse with French King Francis
I, and da Vinci died there at the age of sixty seven.
Michelangelo also was an Italian artist. He lived from 1475 to 1564. Because he preferred to
work alone, Michelangelo refused to have apprentices. Although one of his most famous works is
the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, he preferred to sculpt. At age 23, ... Show more content on

including the dog and the shoes. The dog represents fidelity and the cast off shoes allude to holy
ground. Jan van Eyck payed attention to the miniscule details in his Renaissance

This must be done fairly. There are different types of dismissal: Fair dismissal Unfair dismissal
Constructive dismissal Wrongful dismissal
A dismissal is fair or unfair depending on: the employers reason for it and how they act during the
dismissal process.
Constructive dismissal is when an employee resigns due to a breach in employment contract. An
employee could claim constructive dismissal if: Their wages are cut without agreement Unlawful
demotion If the employer has allowed the employee to be harassed, bullied or discriminated
against If the employee s workload has been unfairly increased There has been a change in the
employee s location of workplace at short notice If the employer makes the employee work in

A constructive dismissal isn t necessarily unfair, but it would be difficult for the employer to show
that a breach of contract was fair.
A constructive dismissal might lead to a claim for wrongful dismissal.
Wrongful dismissal is where the terms of an employee s contract are broken in the dismissal

  • 2. Laertes Poison In Hamlet The image is of a bottle of poison with skull and crossbones on it. This connects with the character Laertes, as he used poison in his attempt at revenge. The reason for the revenge is that Hamlet killed Polonius and Laertes wants to avenge his father s wrongful death. Laertes challenges Hamlet to a fencing match, which would most likely not be lethal, but he dips the end of his blade in poison. During the match Laertes stabs Hamletwith the poisoned blade. Hamlet picks up the blade soon after he is stabbed and uses it on Laertes. This leads to both of their deaths, but they do not die angry at each other as Laertes asks for forgiveness and tells Hamlet that Claudius is tell blame. This is a two part hidden question posed by Suzanne Collins to her readers as well as Katniss Everdeen in the book The Hunger Games where the daunting future of North America, known as Panem, is divided into 12 districts and governed by the Capitol. The article is very unique because it is a bunch of critics that respond to Michael Shermer s claim that the U.S. is still the land of equal opportunity. Many scholars criticize Shermer s skepticism that the income inequality is not as large as people perceive it to be in the United States . In one case, Shermer responds to a critic and he highlights how the rich and poor are not that far apart, emphasizing how many economists believe that poverty can be reduced to 0% by 2100, some believing even by 2050. Shermer concludes his response to the critic by signing off saying that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation predicted poverty... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The significance of income inequality has a major effect on the wellbeing of the social and economic makeup of the United States. It is not just an impulse, but a civic duty for every citizen of the country to partake in enacting their opinion. As Jean Jacques Rousseau, the renowned French philosopher whose enlightened thinking influenced many of the Founding Fathers of the United States put it, The very right to vote imposes on me the duty to instruct myself in public affair, however little influence my voice may have in them. The uniqueness of the extraordinary government of the United States resides in the fact that its citizens partake in having an impact that best suits their interests. After considering the facts and numerous perspectives on whether a large income inequality distribution is positive or negative, you think back on your construction experience. The author argues that rap music contribute to the corruption of moral character, it is misogynistic, promotes violence and street crime. In this paper I will examine the author s claims, use of key concepts, and her reasoning. By doing so, I will be able to demonstrate that Dwyer s thesis is unjust and unsupported. He raises awareness through his music and by speaking in public. K aane is an advocate for women and children that are affected by this matter. He has raised thousands of dollars to support this cause. Rap music can send out positive messages about equality and change. The author has committed a few fallacious arguments in the article. One of the fallacies that stood out to me was the fallacy of presumption. It was stated as; people that choose to listen to and watch such material on a regular basis are saying something about their own moral character, about what they value, about who they are. Seeking out such material is like seeking out and choosing to watch portrayals of atrocities, such as rapes and violence. This argument is invalid and unsound. The author is in the wrong for making such statement. Rap music is just like country and rock music. People enjoy listening to different types of music for various reasons, one of which can be for entertainment purposes. Listening to and watching rap music does not determine a person s moral character and who they are as a person. In contrast the author can take the position to defend that the argument raised is valid and sound. • 7. Milk Curd Mass Lab Report Title Which type of milk produced the greatest amount of curd mass? Purpose The purpose of this lab was to determine which type of milk produced the greatest amount of curd mass. Background InformationWhat is milk curd? Milk curd is a secondary result of the effects of acid and enzymes on milk proteins and lipids. When acid is added to milk, this causes the milk to separate into curds and whey (Suleiman). Cow s milk is made up of 87% water and 13% solids; these solids include minerals, lactose, fats, and proteins. Chemically, these milk proteins are made up of the two main proteins: casein and whey. 3.4% of milk solids contain these two main proteins ( The Chemistry of Milk ). The specific milk protein casein makes up 80% of this composition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the Type of Milk vs. Curd Mass lab, it was found that Fairlife Ultra Filtered Milk produced the most amount of curd mass. Because this dairy company Fairlife reconstitutes the composition of the milk after it is pasteurized, this creates a higher ratio of protein to other milk components. The Fairlife Ultra Filtered Milk produced on average 5.6 grams of curd mass. The Whole milk, which was the control, produced on average 3.4 grams of curd mass. Whenever there is a higher amount of protein present in any type of milk, these proteins will denature when mixed with acid and much more curd will be present. This lead to the greatest amount of curd mass in Fairlife Ultra Filtered Milk in comparison to the whole milk, lactose free milk, and organic milk. Works Cited Doucette, Kristin. • 9. The Normal Heart Rate Of A Daphnia Magna Introduction The purpose of this lab was to determine the normal heart rate of a Daphnia Magna and decipher the different effects that various substances had on it. A Daphnia Magna is a species of water fleas and can be located in the Northern United Sates against the coastline of the Atlantic in rocky pools. The water flea s habitat consists of rivers and streams, temporary pools, lakes and ponds, and brackish water. The Daphnia Magna range from two to five millimeters in length and are shaped like a kidney bean (Elenbaas, Molly). Relating to this lab experiment we learned in class that the normal heart rateis measured anywhere between 60 and 100 beats per minute (BPM). If your resting BPM is measured at a level above the number 100 it is known as Tachycardia. This term indicates that your heart level has exceeded the normal range. Also if your heart rate is indicated below 60 then it is called Bradycardia, which means the heart is beating slower than normal. When your heart rate is affected by a substance in the body it is called a Chronotropic agent. When the heart rate decreases because of a substance or chemical it is called a negative Chronotropic and when it is affected oppositely by increasing it is known as a positive Chronotropic agent. In this experiment we added many different substances to the slide on which the water flea was placed to calculate the increase or decrease in its heart rate due to the ingredients in the substances. The evidence of increasing urbanization is easy to find in in many metropolitan areas, and in news articles outlining the plans of nations to create jobs infrastructure, in order to stimulate economies and strengthen their societies. The case is made most evident in East Asian countries currently undergoing something akin to a moderate upheaval in terms of their societal economic emergence, namely: China India; two counties famed in recent times due to their rapid economic development. And although both countries are undergoing rapid development, it would seem that China especially has the most potential for large scale and modern urban sprawl, while simultaneously ... The International Monetary Fund Argentina Project and its problems and outcomes One project of the International Monetary Fund was a series of loans given to the country of Argentina in the 1990s through 2001. In the 1990s many investors and brokers looked to Argentina for investments as they rated its economy as one of the world s strongest (Blustein, 2003, Aug 3). It was at this time that Argentina first started to follow the International Monetary Fund formula for economic stabilization in development including reducing budget in balance of payment deficits, raising interest rates, reducing inflation, privatizing state assets, and reducing trade barriers and regulation on capital flows in and out of the country (Paddock, 2002, p. 158). These policies helped reduce the hyper inflationary levels that Argentina had reached during the 1980s. This positive outlook may have prevented a needed change in the economic policies when the effects of the Mexican peso crisis in 1995 placed Argentina s economy in a brief recession. It wasn t until 1998 that Argentine policymakers discussed the country s finances with a senior official of the International Monetary Fund who sounded the alarm that the country might be headed for an Asian style melt down. However despite the warning significant economic changes were not made, in part due to the confidence that money could be easily acquired from the International Monetary Fund (Blustein, 2003, Aug 3). In the town of Jefferson, simply saying the name Grierson guaranteed to make all ears within hearing range perk up in an effort to gather new information about the monumental recluse. Throughout the centuries the franchising concept has evolved as the economies of the nations of the world have evolved. During the early 1800s in Germany, certain major ale brewers granted franchises to certain taverns, giving those taverns the exclusive right to sell their ale. This marked the beginning of the concept of franchising as we know it today. In 1851, the Singer Sewing Company became the forerunners of modern franchising agreements through the contracts that it would associate with its franchising activities. In the 1880s, cities began to grant monopoly franchises to street car companies and utilities for water, sewerage, gas, and later, electricity. Another stage in the evolution of franchising came around the turn of the 20th century when oil refinery companies and the automobile manufacturers began to grant the right to sell their products. Therefore, it would make sense that individuals who are most qualified would reach their maximum potential, yet many students across the country are discriminated based on their ethnicity because diversity is needed in the classroom. Even though diversity spreads ideas and cultures, should the issue of the lack of diversity be the main concern of schools? The common argument that diversity in schools would be beneficial is tenuously held because of the many reasons that continue to prove that diversity in schools is a miniscule factor in the improvement of education. Although diversity in schools will allow students to socialize with others of different races, the absence of diversity will allow equally qualified students of different races to excel, allow foreign students to retain their cultural identity, and prevent the social alienation of races in cliques. • 31. Prohibition Of Marijuana, Heroin, And Other Drugs It is also possible that drug users are irrational decision makers and might not understand the adverse long term effects and addictive properties. Prohibition should reduce demand through legal penalties; however, since not all drug users are rational choice makers, demand can increase by creating a forbidden fruit effect. The consequences of increased use add to the complexity and costs of enforcement on both drugusers and the general population. Drug users, trying to avoid the legal consequences of their use, often times interact with non users in ways that are harmful and costly. Additionally, non users are also impacted by increased taxes to pay for the enforcement, by regulations to check for drugs that take time and are inconvenient, and by becoming innocent bystanders that can get caught in the middle of attempted arrests, often with deadly affects. The long federal experiment in prohibition of marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and other drugs has given us unprecedented crime and corruption combined with a manifest failure to stop the use of drugs or reduce their availability to children. The factor that determines the amount of violence created by prohibition is the level of enforcement. There are two main reasons for this. One, black markets only form when the enforcement is very strict and, two, increasingly strict enforcement leads to violence both in making arrests and as competing suppliers seek to capture market share. The violence not only impacts those ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Pmf Job Fair Essay After attending the PMF Job fair on Monday, I ve learned more information about the process that I thought would be helpful to pass along. The purpose of the Presidential Management Fellowship is to recruit candidates for jobs that are traditionally harder to fill and provide them with the training needed to become a leader in that role. Although the agency would have to pay a $7,000 fee and also fund 160 hours of training within the 2 years of the fellowship, this is an opportunity for the agency to recruit qualified staff at a fraction of the cost. Regular positions are often converted into PMF positions to fill agencies needs by the designated Human resources Manger. For example, you are trying to fill the position we discussed at the GS 12/13 level but it may be difficult to recruit someone who is highly qualified. You could hire a PMF with experience like mine at a GS 9/11 level and train them for the position. At the end of the first year of this two year fellowship, if I receive favorable scores on my performance review, I move up to a GS 11/12. At the end of the fellowship, if I continue to do well on evaluations I advance to a GS 12/13. Dollar General Case Be that as it may, developing an ideal healthcare system will call for requisite transformational changes in authenticating the ideological construct of both the primary care and primary medical. In view of the previous studies and comments posted by profound scholars in the nursing mainstream, primary care and primary medical has been in the forefront in championing for transformational changes towards ensuring capacity building and boosting the lifestyle of the humanity. In a strong sense, establishing an extensive healthcare system would ensure that there is an excellent relationship between the medics and the patients. This perception would ensure that the two parties in question develops a connection through a system of shared values and common objectives. The ancient Indians discovered, in 1,000 BCE that light therapy, in addition to psoralens, a plant compound, could cure vitiligo (Barr, H. et al., 2002). In the early 20th century, Niels Finsen s and his wife s treatment of lupus vulgaris with ultra violet lightnotably earned them the Nobel Price (Barr, H. et al., 2002). A more modern application of light s theraputic properties is photodynamic therapy. Photodynamic therapy destroys tumours through the use of a photosensitizer, oxygen, and light in a wavelength specific to the photosensitizer (Brown Ibbotson, 2009, p. 251; Barr, Kendall, Reyes Goddard Stone, 2002, p. 136). The Effects Of Alcohol And Drug Abuse On Criminal Activities Discussion: Whilst many theorists have differing views on whether or not alcohol and drug abuse is related to criminal activities, there are however a variety of preventative and intervention methods known commonly as harm reduction . This theory aims to assist in society s responses in how we intervene when it comes to drug abusers as well as how the use of drug taking harms society itself. Such designed strategies aim to reduce and eventually stop substance abuse. Harm reduction methods can come in the form of intervention programmes (such as rehabilitation programmes), or access to health clinics and support groups that include needle exchange services for drug injectors and these aim to lessen the after effects that are linked with substance abuse and criminal activities. According to Newcombe, R. The applicable code of the prosecution was to prove beyond reasonable doubt rather than just speculation on the case and learning about what the actual presented evidence consists of. The reason the O.J. Simpson s case is pivotal in the crimes in the United States of America is the necessity of the prosecution to prove a case beyond reasonable doubt; the standard that no other logical explanation can be derived from the facts except that the defendant committed the crime, thereby overcoming the presumption that a person is innocent until proven guilty (Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, 2008). Despite being a first degree murder case and a prima facie case, OJ Simpson s was acquitted. The case came with a high public awareness concerning the prevalence of domestic violence and difference.
