The Problem?
Bad Governance has significantly affected economic growth and
development in Nigeria, leading to an outburst in corruption, poverty and
depletion in the standard of life for the majority poor masses.
Where and when it occurs?
This problem is occurring in the Nigerian Government/public offices.
The problem occurs during every government’s tenure, as it has been
transferred over the years from one government to the next.
Who is affected?
The Majority Poor Nigerians and low income earners.
The boundaries of this problem?
This problem does not include Non-Nigerian citizens residing in Nigeria.
What will make a solution successful?
A successful solution would lead to an improvement in the Nigerian
economy, strengthen the constitution, reduce corruption, improve
standard of life for citizens, and create opportunities for diplomatic ties.
Who or what can stop implementation of the solution?
Leaders/Lawmakers who fail to ensure strict adherence to laws are the
primary barrier to implementing the solution.
E-Government
Platforms
Implementing comprehensive
e-government platforms can
enhance transparency,
accountability, and efficiency in
governance. This includes
developing secure online portals for
citizens to access government
services, submit complaints, and
monitor the progress of public
projects.
A SMART Solution
Blockchain for
Transparency
Leveraging blockchain technology
can enhance transparency and
traceability in key sectors such as
procurement, disbursement, land
management, and public finance.
A SMART Solution
Project
Management
tracker
A project management tracker
specifically designed for government
projects can help enhance
transparency, accountability, and
efficiency in managing public
initiatives.
A centralized dashboard providing
an overview of ongoing projects,
their status, and key milestones will
allow stakeholders to have real-time
progress report.
A SMART Solution
As a citizen of Nigeria, I seek
transparency, better system of
government, better opportunities
and youth inclusion in national
matters.

Acceptance Criteria
Nigerian citizens should have access
to track and monitor government
processes such as procurement,
disbursement, land management,
project lifecycle and public finance
distribution.
Img Source: Unspash.com
Conduct an initial assessment or
baseline measurement to establish
a starting point for comparison.
Engage with users and stakeholders
to gather feedback on their
experience with the implemented
solution.
To test the effectiveness of the
solution, specific Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs) that reflect the
desired outcomes are defined and
measured. These KPIs may be
related to efficiency, transparency,
citizen engagement, or any other
relevant aspect of governance.
What to Measure? How to Measure?
This is an important problem to solve because of the magnitude of its
impact. It affects a large population of over 100 million people.
Why is Bad Governance a Problem to solve?

Blockchain has the potential to
revolutionize governance by
providing a secure, transparent, and
decentralized system. It can reduce
corruption, enhance accountability,
streamline processes, and ultimately
empower citizens to actively
participate in governance processes.
Why Blockchain
will make an
important
difference in
governance
Chukwuma was born into a
world filled with dreams and
aspirations. He possessed an
insatiable thirst for knowledge
and an indomitable spirit.
Today, Chukwuma is a 24 year old,
unemployed-University graduate
living in Imo State, Nigeria.
Img Source: Unspash.com
Chukwuma dreamt of becoming a doctor, a beacon of hope for his
community, and a catalyst for positive change. However, unknown to
him, the seeds of misfortune were sown due to the detrimental
effects of bad governance.
As he grew older, he witnessed the harsh realities of a society marred
by corruption, inadequate infrastructure, and a failing education
system. Basic amenities like clean water, electricity, and access to
quality healthcare were luxuries far beyond his reach.
The lack of transparency and accountability in governance left
Chukwuma and his community vulnerable to exploitation and poverty.
In the face of adversity, Chukwuma's spirit refused to be broken. He
discovered a community organization that believed in the
transformative power of education, he got enrolled in a scholarship
and mentorship program. Chukwuma's story underscores the urgent
need for change. His struggles epitomize the countless lives affected
by bad governance in Nigeria and beyond. let us strive for a future
where dreams are not crushed but nurtured, where every citizen has
an equal opportunity to thrive, and where bad governance becomes a
relic of the past.
Thank you.
