Multiple Choice, Binary Choice And Matching Questions Essay
Multiple Choice, Binary Choice, and Matching Questions
My greatest strength in writing multiple choice, binary choice, and matching questions is creating
scenarios for the multiple choice. I enjoyed writing these scenarios by making up stories that are
related to the content. I was also good at keeping track of what we have and what we needed to do.
Another strength I had was in creating binary choice question because there is only one right answer.
My greatest weakness was coming up with good alternate choices for the multiple choice. I had a
hard time with this because the ones that I came up with were either too obvious, not
homogeneous, or too similar. Another weakness I had was creating matching because I found it
hard to make them all homogeneous. They were also hard to make because we had to come up
with different responses that were similar in order for the premises not to stand out.
My contribution to the multiple choice, binary choice, and matching questions was that I created
many of multiple choice questions this was because I enjoyed writing the scenarios. I also wrote
some of the binary questions. I also contributed to the group by helping and collaborating on the
matching. I also help by keeping track of what we had in terms of number of different types of
questions and the number of learning objectives.
I would rate myself a ten out of a ten on my contribution to the multiple choice, binary, matching
questions because I did my share of crating the number

Objectivism And Individualism In Ayn Rand s Anthem
What would it be like if we lost all sense of being an individual? Doing everything for the sake of
the people around us? Imagine a world that is so highly collectivized that the word I has been
banned. Objectivism is a system of philosophy created by Ayn Rand, a Russian American novelist.
It has four main principles: objective reality, absolute reason, individualism, and laissez faire
capitalism. The concept of objective reality is where the name Objectivism originated. Basically, it
means that outside our own personal perceptions, there is one true reality happening. Objectively,
there are things going on in the world whether or not a person is there to see them. Objectivism s

himself from society. Equality 7 2521 then discovers the lightbulb, which causes him to go into

Much to his surprise, they threaten to destroy it and he is sent to The Palace of Corrective

Negative Impact Of Globalization
Globalization is the interaction of people due to the growth of international flow of different types
of global markets such as business, finances, international and domestic trades, information
technology, investments, and different ideas and cultures. Many people fear the impact of the
economy and society because it is harmful to every citizen around the world. Globalization
influences cultural exchange since it has been increasing annually. But this is not necessarily a
good thing, people fear this can cause loss of culture. Globalization very common nowadays, it has
started to become beneficial in the economy especially to the wealthy people. Globalization is

Another reason why jobs are decreasing is because of the advantage that the technology have
over us, the more advance the technology, the less workers they need. For example, in Factories
everything was mostly done and created by citizens of a nation, since technology is so advance,
factories now have more of automation system which means everything is done automatically,
this has caused decrease in jobs now that automation is very popular. This also can affect the
household because some families will be in financial crises due to unemployment. They are and
will be higher rates of divorces and family instability. Globalization has a huge and very stressful
impact on companies and business. Globalization has made a competitive environment for them.
The competition is due to different type of reasons but mainly due to cost and price and
technology adaptation. When company and businesses competition increase, it makes other
companies or businesses lower their prices. Also, one effect of globalization is expanding the
businesses. Companies, businesses and customers always want to have quick services and in a
more efficient way then before. They expect low prices and high quality. For example, McDonald
s. This company had its downfall, but it has been one of the most admire companies globally. It has
expanded throughout the world and it represents some of the cultures and community around it.
McDonald s is consistent with its prices and quick

Food During The Elizabeth Era
During Queen Elizabeth s reign, she was served many types of food; However, one of her most
favorite dishes was meat. She described meat as a tender dinner dish. Queen Elizabeth also was
more of a quick bite type queen. She watch performers perform and takes small bites of food as she
watched. Queen Elizabeth liked meat for different occasions, such as big events that were going on
in the kingdom. The seasoning on the meat, I m thinking, was one of the toppings that caught her

Light Is A Form Of Energy And Composed Of Different...
Light is a form of energy and composed of different wavelengths. When the light exposed to an
object, the light could be reflected at the surface of the object (specular or diffuse), and it could
be absorbed or scattered within the object, or it could refract or totally transmitted through the
object44, 45. The wavelengths (colors) that are reflected, refracted or transmitted are perceived by
receptor cells (i.e. rods and cones) in the eye and recognized by the brain as a specific color. The
wavelengths of visible lightrange from approximately 400 to 700 nm45, 46. The wavelengths that
are transmitted, refracted or reflected create the color that is perceived and till about the
translucency level of the material. If all light is transmitted, the material will appear completely
transparent. If all light is absorbed, the material will appear completely opaque, and the color black
is perceived. However, if some of the wavelengths of visible light are absorbed and others reflected,
refracted, or transmitted, the color that is perceived corresponds to the wavelengths that are
reflected, refracted, or transmitted, and the level of translucency is depend on the amount of the
light that transmitted through the material9, 44 46. Moreover, the reflection of the light depends
on the surface texture of the restoration. Thus, a smooth surface increases the specular reflectance,
in which the angulation of light reflection is equal to the angle of the light source. This reveals

Apple also has an advantage on their low production cost because of its economies of scale and
these are the main reasons that contribute to Apple Company dominance in the market with respect
to new market entrants.
Another force, which is the threats of rivals doesn t affect Apple much and Apple Company is not
too concerned about these threats. When Apple first introduced the IPod and Iphone products, their
company rose to the top of the market immediately and it made them the top leader of the mobile
electronic market.
Apple Company has created a strong brand name which represents quality and classy products.
The brand has also built up customer loyalty throughout these years and they gained a lot of trust
from their product users. Apple eventually leads when it comes to quality because their product
such as MacBook recorded only 17.4% failure rate which is actually lower than a lot of their
competitors. Besides that, Apple also stayed two years ahead of its competitors. They designed and
worked on products that are launched today two years ago such as the Iphone 6 which is launched

The Recovery Room
From the birth of the recovery room in the 1940s to the postanesthesia care unit (PACU) of the
21th century, the look and function of this unit have been in a constant state of evolution.
Throughout the six past decades, surgical procedures have become more extensive and
complicated and thus require more specially prepared nursing staff and equipment for the care of
the patient (Odom Forren, 2013). The PACU of today is an intensive care specialty that provides
care to wide range surgical patients. Many of these patients have more than one chronic condition,
such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes mellitus, chronic pain, and chronic heart
problems. In order to provide safe patient care, the PACU nurseneeds to develop the ability to blend
expert clinical knowledge that is based on experience, education, and collegial sharing with caring
practices that comes from within and from being a nurse (Odom Forren, 2013).
For many years, critical care experience was a must have requirement prior to working in the
PACU. The PACU was staffed with experienced intensive care unit (ICU) nurses with different
backgrounds and a solid nursing knowledge base. Nowadays, many of these nurses are retiring or
taking different paths in their careers forcing the PACU managers to revise hiring requirements and
open the PACU doors to non ICU and new graduate nurses. In order to assist the new graduate

The Fall Of The Republic And Fall
Main Article
When articles are written about the fall of the Republic and the fall of democracy, the blame is
often attributed to one man: Julius Caesar. However, a figure that tends to be overlooked in
popular history held the consulship over fifty years prior to the Republic s inevitable fall was
named Gaius Marius. Coming from an obscure Volscian town in the territory of Arpinum, sixty
miles south east of Rome, Plutarch wrote of Marius coming from poor origins and rising to the
consulship as an archetypal rags to riches story. This is nothing more than dramatic flair, since in
reality he came from a good municipal family who were members of the local aristocracy, with the
contemporary view characterising them as powerful nobles in their native town.
Upon being elected consul in 107 BC, Marius was presented with the chance to cement his legacy.
Accordingly, he began to reform the military. Before leaving for Africa, to finish off Jugurtha, he
changed the traditional way of recruitment. Previously, Roman citizens were recruited on the basis
of their property qualification: Scullard writes that the rule was that the army should be recruited
only from men enrolled in the five classes. Instead, Marius appealed to the proletarii, who were
men that lacked the necessary property qualification. This wasn t any great innovation, as property
qualifications had already been reduced. He simply completed the next logical step. But the results
of this reform were

Superman And Me Sherman Alexiie Analysis
The expectations that others place on us help us form our own expectation of ourselves, we can
also choose to form our own goals. Granted that, Sherman Alexie had written a story about how
he was inspired to become a writer. Beginning with learning to read on his own, then taking a
stand against his society s beliefs. For that reason, Sherman has encouraged other native American
children to be more ambitious. In fact, on Superman and Me Sherman has proven, the ability to
learn is not fixed, that it can be changed with someone s efforts alone. Because he doesn t believe
failure is a permanent state. Sherman was a 3 year old, Spokane Indian boy living with his family
on the Spokane reservation in eastern Washington. A simple curious boy, growing up in a poor
household, even for the Washington state standards. Sherman mentions We were poor by most
standards, but one of my parents usually managed to п¬Ѓnd some minimum wage job or another,
which made us middle class by reservation standards. I had a brother and three sisters. We lived
on a combination of irregular paychecks. hope. fear and government surplus food. His
surrounding environment didn t dampen his eager to be more than what is expected. His father
attended catholic school outside from the reservation willingly, although it was a taboo in his
culture. Sherman describes his father to be a book lover or avid reader. He would use extra

How do you perceive to claim an education without receiving one? Rich uses the dictionary to
define the word claim, which means to take as the rightful owner; to assert in the face of
possible contradiction and then to receive is ВЁto come into possession of; to act as receptacle
container for; to accept as authoritative or trueВЁ (608). Claiming your education to me is going

Hoplites Into Democracy Analysis
In his 1996 work titled Hoplites into Democrats: The Changing Ideology of Athenian Infantry,
Victor Hanson analyzes the timeline of the Athenian government as it transitions into a democracy
and the effect this transition had on their warfare culture. Throughout the article, Hanson refers to
the seventh and sixth century BC as the normative polis before democracywhen the government was
timocratical and Athens was an early agrarian polis; and then continues his article to emphasize the
fifth and fourth centuries BC during the political reforms and the emergence of democracy as the
main form of government. Hanson mentions the tensions that arose between landowners and non

With continuous war and battles being fought, the Athenian farmers gained profits because of
greater opportunity for theft (301). Hanson pulls from the fragmented works of an anonymous
Oxyrhynchus Historian to support his plundering claim. The historian writes that the Athenian
countryside was the most lavishly furnished in Greece (300). Hanson draws to the conclusion that
Attic farmers in the fifth century BC often took rural property from conquered subjects and then re
employed it on their own farms (301). With money being the new standard of privilege, as stated
earlier, farmers utilized the lavish material items they plundered to gain economic status within
their culture. Another policy that Attic farmers enjoyed under democracy was the introduction of
pay for hoplite military service... sometime around the mid fifth century BC (301). Hanson notes
that Athenian farmers were discovering the attractions democracy had to offer (301) since
compensation was nonexistent during agrarian warfare because it was a necessity to fight to save
the farm. The burden of battle shifted between the old regime, where the agrarian community faced
battle alone, and the new regime, where the burden was on the entire polis to fight for each other s
land (301). As generations continued, a new kind of self interested Athenian hoplite became
prevalent due to their

Having lived in two different cities for some years gives me an insight to what the difference
between the life in a big city and countryside are all about.
The city of New York is significantly different from the city of Winston Salem in North Carolina.
Some of their dissimilarities can be seen in lifestyle, transportation, job availability and crime rate.
The life style and enthusiasm in Winston Salem is slow pace. Some days, mostly on weekends,

different cultures and ethnicity. Life in Winston Salem is boring because you do not have a wild

How Baseball Survived the Great Depression Essays
Baseball remains today one of America s most popular sports, and furthermore, baseball is one of
America s most successful forms of entertainment. As a result, Baseball is an economic being of its
own. However, the sustainability of any professional sport organization depends directly on its
economic capabilities. For example, in Baseball, all revenue is a product of the fans reaction to
ticket prices, advertisements, television contracts, etc. During the devastating Great Depressionin
1929, the fans of baseball experienced fiscal suffering. The appeal of baseball declined as more and
more people were trying to make enough money to live. There was a significant drop in attention,

Radio broadcasting contributed to the survival of baseball in two ways. First, radio broadcast
kept people who could not afford tickets interested in the game. Second, radio broadcasting
brought in new fans that lived far away or never could afford to attend games. Therefore, radio
broadcasting was a popular and ingenious contribution to the survival of baseball during the
great depression. In addition, the farm system was created and refined during the great
depression. The farm system was a way to cut down the expensive sums of money spent on
buying new players. Lauren Vorel, who is a baseball historian, describes the farm system by
saying, The farm system allowed major league teams to develop ballplayers in the minor league
teams and draft them up to the majors, instead of having to complete expensive trades with other
major league teams for developed ball players. Because of the farm system, baseball clubs saved
money while still having valuable players. The farm system was prosperous, and many teams
began to have success from implementing the farm system. For example, the White Sox s team
was composed of many players who came from their farm system. Because the White Sox did not
trade or purchase players during this time, they saved a lot of money. There are many more
examples of the farm system s success, and it is still used today. Therefore, the farm system was

The Culture Of National Culture
What is Culture?
Essentially, culture is the set of values, beliefs, rules, and institutions held by a group of people
(Wild and Wild 2016, p.70). Oftentimes, culture is thought of in terms of National Culture. National
Culture is sustained and encouraged by nation states through the construction of monuments,
museums and other buildings, which protect the heritages of significant events and people (Wild
and Wild 2016, p.70). They also play a role in ensuring business decisions preserve cultural
treasures, such as in the case of heritage listed sites or buildings (Wild and Wild 2016, p.70).
National Culture consists of six dimensions, which represent independent preferences that
distinguish countries from each other ( Dimensions Geert ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Culture is made up of a number of building blocks, which provide a much fuller understanding
than what is distinctly national (Wild and Wild 2016, p.73). These components are: aesthetics,
values and attitudes, manners and customs, social structure, religion, personal communication,
education and, physical and material environments (Wild and Wild 2016, p.73). Values are
ideas and beliefs to which people have an emotional attachment; they affect work ethic and
materialism (Wild and Wild 2016, p.74). Attitudes are influenced by underlying values and are
positive or negative reactions towards ideas or objects (Wild and Wild 2016, p.74). Attitudes are
more flexible than values and often change over time as people mature and have different
experiences. Aesthetics are what a culture considers good taste in the arts. It includes the use of
colour, symbols and materials (Wild and Wild 2016, p.74). Manners involve what are considered
appropriate ways of dressing, speaking, and behaving in a certain culture (Wild and Wild 2016,
p.75). It is of particular importance when conducting international business. Customs are specific
patterns of behaviour in particular circumstances, which have been passed down through the
generations of a culture (Wild and Wild 2016, p.75). Customs may either be from folk culture or
from popular culture (Wild and Wild 2016, p.75). Social Structure represents the primary

Cubism Art
Structural Frame A.Investigate the two main phases of cubism: Analytical and Synthetic After
1909, Picasso and Braque began a more systematic study of structure, which we know as Analytical
Cubism . In this period, they removed bright colors from their compositions, favouring
monochromatic earth tones so that they could focus on the structure. The paintings of this period
look as if they have deconstructed objects and rearranged them on the canvas. One goal of this is to
depict different viewpoints all at once. After the artists had grown tired of the Analytical period,
they began to develop what is known as the Synthetic period. Picasso and Braque continue to
introduce new and controversial changes with the introduction of collaged... Show more content on

Within his complexity came out a brilliant artist that was widely considered the most influential
painter of the 20th century. Pollock began to study painting in 1929 at the Art Students League,
in New York, under the Regionalist painter Thomas Hart Benton. During the 1930s he was being
influenced also by the Mexican muralist painters and by certain aspects of Surrealism. By the
mid 1940s he was painting in a completely abstract manner, and the `drip and splash style for
which he is best known emerged with some abruptness in 1947. Instead of using the traditional
easel he moved his canvas to the floor and poured and dripped his paint from a can; instead of
using brushes he manipulated it with `sticks, trowels or knives sometimes he would use a mixture
of `sand, broken glass or other foreign matter . This manner of Action painting was common with
Surrealist theories of automatism. Clement Greenberg emerged on the American art scene at a
time when it was still relatively small and critics belonged to the insular world of the artists
themselves. Among them was an obscure painter named Jackson Pollock, who was earning very
little money. Clement Greenberg, was the art critic who propelled the career of Jackson Pollock
and helped to establish Abstract Expressionism as a major artistic movement Greenberg began to

Effects Of Atlantic Slave Trade
The Atlantic slave trade was and is enormously significant. The slave trade was only one part of
the international network that shaped the world between 1450 and 1750. Not only did Europeans
break into the Indian Ocean spice trade, but American silver allowed greater participation in the
commerce of East Asia. Another big key was that fur trapping and trading changed commerce as
well as the natural environment. Europeans wanted commercial connections with Asia.
Christopher Columbus and Vasco da Gama both sought for a route to Asia. Motivation above all
was the desire for the spices in Asia, although other Eastern products were also sought after.
European civilizations just recovered from the Black Death. The national monarchies were
learning ways to govern more efficiently and effectively. During this time some cities were
becoming international trade centers. The Indian Ocean commerce was very rich and diverse. But
the Portuguese did not have goods of a quality that was any effective competition. So the
portuguese took to the sea lanes. Portuguese ships were more maneuverable than other ships, and
they also carried cannons. They established fortified bases at very key locations such as Mombasa,

other functions). He reported that one of his workers Mr. Q, was in possession of a backpack
that he found unattended in the men s locker room. According to Mr. Q, he opened the bag out of
curiosity to find out if there is a name or any identification so that he can return it to the owner.
Mr. Q noticed an empty or dummy pipe bomb container inside the backpack. The supervisor
requested a patrol car and officer to be sent to the location. Officer A, was the first on the scene and
upon investigation and interview with the witness/worker determined that the package was a dud

situation was that, it could either be an expensive prank or a dry run for a future attack.

ROMEO AND JULIET: PERSUASIVE LITERARY ESSAY EVALUATION
ROUGH COPY #2
TOPIC: What is the impact of Shakespeare s use of sonnets in Romeo and Juliet?
Edits done in red by: Sarah Homsi
Some people believe that destiny is solely a figment of one s imagination; that humans truly
control their future based on the decisions they take. However, others believe that one s life is
already mapped out for them and that there is no stopping the path in life that God has planned of
them. One of the most common forms of conveying love, sonnets, regularly affect how one sees
the world. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Shakespeare s utilization of
sonnets impacts upon the reader a feeling of destiny and fate for the love story of Romeo ... Show

In the very first sonnet of the play, the Prologue, there is a sense of fate created when it
specifically states the tragic events of the love story that will follow. In the second quatrain of
the sonnet, it states, a pair of star cross d lovers take their lives. (Prologue. 6). The prologue is
already providing the audience with the tragic ending of the play, something that is usually kept
a secret for the purpose of keeping the audience in suspense. The decision of including the
ending of the play in the sonnet gives the sense of the unavoidable destiny of Romeo and Juliet,
since the audience knows no matter what decisions Juliet and Romeo take, their fate will remain
the same. Subsequent to this, in the third quatrain of the sonnet, it says, the fearful passage of
their death mark d love. (Prologue. 9). No matter what decisions or choices Romeo and Juliet
make, the audience already knows their deadly fate: that a pair of lovers are doomed to death
because of their deep affection for each other. Shakespeare s method of introducing the play was to
use a sonnet in the Prologue, which thus created a sense of

The Hour Shifts For Nurses
Introduction
For the past 20 years, 12 hour shifts for nurses have been the norm. For hospitals and other medical
facilities, scheduling two 12 hour shifts is much more time efficient than scheduling three 8 hour
shifts, and less time is spent handing off patients (Trinkoff, et al., 2011, p. 1). Ideally, more time is
spent focusing on patient care. According to a 2012 brochure from the Department of Veteran
Affairs, VA nurses are able to pick between having a 12 hour shift, or a shorter shift (Become a
Nurse, p. 7), yet most nurses choose to work 12 hour shifts regardless of that choice. Is this choice

52). If nurses are working longer shifts, are they still able to demonstrate any of the carative factors
in Watson s Theory? Would a nurse be able to demonstrate the caring moment with a patient if the
nurse is on the twelveth hour of the shift?
Proposal
The objective, for hospitals should be to switch from 12 hour shifts to 8 hour shifts over the next 5
years. During the transitional years, limit the consecutive days that a nurse may work while
working 12 hour shifts. Studies show that when nurses work 12 hour shifts more than 2 days in a
row, they are more likely to suffer from burn out (Wisetborisut, Angkurawaranon, Jiraporncharoen,
Uaphanthasath, Wiwantanadate, 2014, p. 279). If a hospital does decide to keep 12 hour shifts,
design schedules so that there are no more than 2 consecutive days in which a nurse is working 12
hour shifts. Hospitals should also make it mandatory to take the next day off after working a 16
hour shift. Another alternative would be after working one 16 hour shift, have the nurse take
mandatory time off for no less than sixteen hours following the 16 hour shift. This way the nurse
has the opportunity to get an adequate amount of rest before having to come in and work another
shift.
There are several reasons why the nurse should want to move to a shorter shift. First is the benefit
of being able to deliver better

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Living Abroad
It is without doubt that for some people, going to a foreign country can be quite the shock. Before
I experienced living abroad, I was adamant that I too would experience a culture shock. What
happened was totally the opposite.
I spend my last year of my bachelor studies living in Belgium, Ghent. I received a scholarship, so I
did not have to work to support myself. Instedad I focused on my studies and of course on the
adventure. You see, cultureshock is not something you catch, like the flu or the common cold; it s
not something you get when you set foot on the airport, it s a feeling and it is not always there. If
I was in a more exotic place than Europe, I believe I would have had a minor culture shock, but
having to write about a culture shock I experienced during my stay in a European country is simply
impossible.

The Stock Market Crash Of 1929, By Brenda Lange
On October 29, 1929, America experienced the most calamitous stock market crash in its history.
Although some tried to prevent the crash from getting worse, the fear and panic that so many
Americans felt, caused them to make a horrible situation even worse. The 1929 stock market crash
affected America in several ways, causing America to go from a time of prosperity, to a time of
strife, leading Americans to lose billions of dollars and also leading to an increase in homelessness
and unemployment rates, leaving America devastated.
Before the market crash, many people were happy and optimistic about the future. Brenda Lange,
author of The Stock Market Crash of 1929, wrote that the time before the crash was a time of
optimism and hope, and the future looked promising. (Lange 12), referring to how people had
nothing to worry about. With a majority of people believing that nothing bad would happen, the
small signs of the future crash went unnoticed, leading to a mass panic when the market first went

A Explanation Of The Problem Of Homelessness
Explanation of the Variables
Homelessness is a temporary problem that people fall into when they cannot afford to pay their
rent or mortgage, or when their home becomes unsafe or unstable. Other factors, such as job loss,
health and psychological disabilities can accelerate people s slide into poverty, and for some,
eventual homelessness. The lack of housing, access to healthcare, and supportive services, then act
as others barriers that keep individuals from moving into a home.
There are a variety of different factors that can affect someone and potentially cause them to become
impoverished. These factors include: substance abuse (drugs or alcohol), mental illness, domestic
violence, job loss, eviction, army, natural disaster, no medical insurance, death of family member,
and health problems. We chose these factors because they are the leading causes of homelessness in
both men and women.
Explanation of the Hypothesis
Women s and men s homelessness is equally important in today s society, but women are often
overlooked. Our hypothesis is stating that women are not equally represented in terms of
homelessness.
Explanation of Research Methods
When planning a sociological study it is not easy to determine the most effective way to evaluate
the situation. With this study we determined that surveys and factual representations of
homelessness would be most effective for our quantitative research. Quantitative research is defined
as, The use of sampling techniques (such as

being a redhead are incredible. For starters, I never have to worry about the effects of the sun
because I am intelligent and make sure to lather myself with the highest grade of SPF sunblock
there is. My preference is Banana Boat for Men SPF 30, but anything lower than that is
unacceptable. The second benefit of my beautiful hair is all the compliments I receive from
older ladies that see me for the first time. It is almost guaranteed that when I am introduced to a
lady who appears to be a grandmother, the first thing out of her mouth is, Oh My Goodness! I
love your hair! So I feel pretty special when that happens. No other hair color can boast that like
we can. Another great benefit of being a redhead is that people automatically assume that you
are a comedian. You can say something and people will think it is the funniest thing on the
planet. People look at redheads and laugh all the time. I like to think they are laughing with us
and not at us though. But this puts a lot of pressure on us because we have to provide the world
with comedy or else it will fall into oblivion perhaps. Probably not, but it is nice getting
recognition from people that we have a sense of humor. The last benefit is the holidays that we
get. If you are a ginger and don t know about National Kiss a GInger day, then you have been
missing out. One day in the whole year where someone kisses you because you have red hair.
How incredible is that? A free kiss because you were born with red hair. In my opinion this is one
of the greatest benefits of being a ginger. In the end people may laugh at us or with us, but they
will never truly get to feel the absolute joy it is to be a redhead everyday of the

Rectus Femoris
The rectus femoris is one of the four muscles in the quadriceps group of the body and is located in
the anterior aspect of the thigh. As a bi articular structure that crosses both the hip and knee joints,
it functions to actively flex the hip and extend the knee. Thus when stretched, the rectus femoris
may constrain concurrent hip extensionand kneeflexion. However, if the rectus femoris were to
constrain neither of the two actions, the length of the muscle is established as passively sufficient.
The two tests that give answer to whether the rectus femoris muscle is passively sufficient is based
upon the comparisons between hip extension with knee flexed vs. extended, and/or knee flexion
with hip flexed vs. extended. However, note that either test will provide the same results.... Show

To examine whether or not the rectus femoris is passively sufficient, we can observe the PRoM
of the hip or knee. Thus, make sure the re positioning of the second joint is accomplished by a
load applied by methods other than the subject s activation of muscles such as gravity or external
force generators (e.g., other people). When the hip is extended, meaning the trunk and thigh are
parallel, it is said to be in 0 degrees of flexion and any extension beyond this point must be
recorded as negative. Nevertheless, as long as an examiner follows the same generalized method,
he or she is able to use either joint spanned by the muscle to achieve the same

The Problems of Northern Ireland Essay
The Problems of Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is part of Ireland which is the most western part in Europe. It is a small place
with a population of 1.5 million and is no larger than Yorkshire. It has been the centre of media
attention because of a conflict between the people of the province. Many people have been killed
there and in the years 1968 1994 over three thousand died. Northern Ireland is ruled by the British
parliament in London where as the republic of Ireland has its own government and parliament in
Dublin.

SDLP and Sinn Fein are both political however Sinn Fein back up revolutionary violence and work
of the IRA. The IRA use force to oppose British presence in Ireland and have killed many British
soldiers and Northern Ireland police officers. The IRA is illegal.
Overall what cause so much conflict in Ireland are the different groups fighting for unionist and
nationalist views. They all believe that they are right and it seems that they won t quit until others
believe it. All groups for nationalist views want the same thing like unionist groups they all want
the same thing to but are going different ways about it. There are political parties, terrorist groups,
religious groups and historical links battling for unionist and nationalist views. It causes a lot of
suspicion and violence and there is not just one fight to be solved but many.
Northern Ireland Coursework
Question 2A
In this piece of coursework I will be looking at two events that have been particularly important in
shaping the views of the protestant community in Northern Ireland. The two events I have chosen
to look at are the Catholic rebellions 1641 1649 and the Battle of Boyne in 1690.
English and Scottish people were sent to live in Ireland by Elizabeth

Amy Snatched Research Paper
So I saw Trainwreck with Amy Schumer a few years ago and much like everyone else I thought
it was pretty good. Fortunately, I think people are finally waking up to the fact that Amy
Schumer is a one trick pony and that trick has gotten really old really fast. After she blamed Alt
Right trolls for her comedy special flopping a couple of months back it will interesting to hear the
excuse for this critical flop Snatched. Schumer plays an emotionally immature woman pushing 40
(stop me if you have heard that before) who needs to find a person to go to Ecuador with after her
boyfriend dumps her. When no one who wants to be seen with her, she is stuck taking her mother
and hijinks ensue. Amy Schumersimply isn t as funny as she thinks she is, no

Vodafone New Zealand s New Office Space Model
Office space is often a business s second largest cost after payroll, and is one area where
companies can make substantial savings. By challenging the traditional criteria around spatial
design and allocation, you can radically improve the value of your buildings for your business and
create a workplace that supports your company s culture and people.
By adopting this model, VodafoneNew Zealand was able to:
Reduce facilities operating costs by around 25%
Reduce staff downtime by 6%
Accommodate 1,360 people in a space traditionally designed for 900, saving lease costs of $2.2m
per annum and fit out costs of $11m
Align its property cycle (ordinarily 10 20 years) to its business cycle (less than 3 years), therefore
aligning its facilities with ongoing developments in the workplace.
This whitepaper examines why other businesses may wish to consider rethinking their physical
space and staff working styles within that space. It looks at hjow technology can be used as a key
enabler to provide an environment that supports the way a business and its people want to work,
and demonstrates how a business can save up to 25% of its building facilities costs (by reducing
electricity, cleaning and rent) in the process.
The Vodafone New Zealandvision for v.nue was to create flexible and collaborative ways of
working that would increase productivity and enable the business to quantify its proposition around
leveraging mobility.

identified from cash flow The first issue with mobile Phone Repair Service s cash flow forecast
is that it has negative closing and opening balance from march to June and this means that the
business has short cash in this time of the year. It also proves that it a seasonal business.
Recommendation Mobile Phone Repair Service could consider bank overdraft to be able to

are easy and quick arrange, it provides good cash flow backup with the minimum Struggle. The
advantage of bank overdraft is the interest is only paid on amounts borrowed also it s flexible for

Essay on American Constitution
Denzel Ngo William Davis Political Science 101 20 April 2011 Term paper The significance of the
fact that the Nevada Constitution is lengthier than the U.S. Constitution is insurance for the state.
The Constitution assures the states of its problems and its issues. The Nevada Constitution was
approved on the first Wednesday of September 1864. In the state of Nevada, the significant fact that
lengthens our Constitution from the U.S. Constitution is the gaming Constitution. The gaming
Constitution needs to be addressed when congress or any other political parties speak about

gambling. In almost every hotel in Nevada, slot... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These cities are important to the state of Nevada because of the income they generate from the
gaming industry. The Nevada economy runs through the taxes on gambling. Unregulated gaming
was common place in the early Nevada mining towns but outlawed in 1909 as part of a nation wide
anti gaming crusade. Nevada re legalized gaming on March 19, 1931, with approval from the
legislature. Re outlawing gaming has never been seriously considered since the industry has
become Nevada s primary source of revenue today. The U.S. Constitution is significant in its own
way because it has been around longer than the Nevada Constitution. The rules of the land Nevada
sits on were founded through the U.S. Constitution. The Constitution of the U.S. established a
government that has been in operation longer than any other government in the world. While
features of the governments of England, The Netherlands, and Denmark have operated for a longer
period, their forms of government have totally changed. The U.S. established the Constitution based
on governments from European countries. Comparing the U.S. and the Nevada Constitution, the
Constitution with the most protection towards individual s rights is the U.S. Constitution. The U.S.

Foundations of Political Thought Essays
Aristotle and Socrates and Plato s beliefs have similarities mainly evident in their denouncement
of democracy for the state. The views of Socrates expressed and written by his pupil Plato are
vastly philosophical in nature and he promotes the idea of questioning life to achieve insight. The
philosophers who possess the absolute truth are the best equipped to rule society according to Plato
and his Allegory of the Cave. Conversely, Aristotletakes a more political scienceapproach of
discussing and analyzing various constitutions to determine the best form of government, where the
rational beings in a society are the natural rulers. Aristotle promotes the idea of rule based on law
rather than simple superiority. The differences in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Politics, 83)
Through this view, Aristotle expresses his distrust of a total democracy that is parallel to the ideas
of his mentors. Plato attacks democracy and describes the disbursement of political freedom to the
masses as an intoxication of wine, claiming that a democratic city gets drunk on too much unmixed
freedom (The Republic, 220). Plato details the filtration of this drunkenness from society
disobeying rulers trickling down to the son disrespecting the father and eventually equal rights in
relations between the sexes (The Republic, 221). Plato and Aristotle share this skepticism of
democracy.
The limitation of freedom, liberty, and equality not only with regards to mistrust of democracy
but also in terms of denial of citizenship and justification of slavery are commonalities in the
teachings of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. Plato accepts slavery throughout The Republic,
because he often deems whole groups of people unworthy of freedom. Aristotle s justifies slavery
through the characteristic of rationality; he claims that there is a condition of natural slavery
where when one being is rational and the other is not, there is a natural master slave relationship
(Politics, 2). For if something is capable of rational foresight, it is a natural ruler and master,
whereas whatever can use its body to labor is ruled and is a natural slave

Benefits Of Working A Four Day Work Week
The idea of only working a four day work week sounds appealing to most people and I don t
blame them for liking the idea. The idea brings upon great benefits like, saving money on
commuting costs, companies will save money on operating expenses, and many more things
that can catch your attention. It all looks great on paper or when you hear it on a television
special showing how people are enjoying life in countries that have adapted this work ideology.
For many of us that do work a full time job, working an eight hour day is tough as it is. When
asked to stay for a an hour , usually you re not going to be as productive or carry a high morale as
you did in the previous dreaded 8 hours of work. It s hard to imagine being able to enjoy doing
that for four consecutive days a week working a ten hour workday. Like many things they seem
great on paper, but only time and results tell the dark truth of a doomed idea. Recession makes
people think about how money is spent and how certain budgets can be managed. The four day
work week in Oakland County which is right outside of Detroit, MI was a plan in reaction to
rising gas prices. About 450 employees signed on to this idea to avoid a pay cut, they were also
saving money on not having to commute a day out of the week to work which is an
environmental benefit also. Oakland was not the only place to try out this idea. 17,000 state
employees in Utah were scheduled to work a trial program which consisted of them only working

Frederick Lee Shuttlesworth Essay
Frederick Lee Shuttlesworth was born on March 18, 1922 in Mount Meigs, Alabama. Born into a
large family, Shuttlesworth moved to Birmingham Alabama as a young child. A black man
graduating from high school in the South during the 1940s and 50s was a rarity. Not only did
Shuttlesworth graduate from high school but he was the valedictorian. High school was just the
first step in Frederick s education. Shuttlesworth became inspired to pursue a life in the church and
looked to further his education by earning his B.A from Selma University in 1951. In 1952 while
earning is B.S at Alabama State College Shuttleswoth began preaching at local churches in the city

Board of Education ruling proved to be the spark that inspired Shuttlesworth to speak out racism in
the South. Shuttlesworth used the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights (ACMHR) to
sue the city of Birmingham when they refused to hire black police officers. Shuttlesworth and the
ACMHR eventually went on to attack and challenge all of Birmingham s segregation laws. This led
to the first attempt on his life when unknown persons blew up his house. His life was threatened,
but his courage stood fast. The very next day Shuttlesworth led a group of people that attempted to
integrate Birmingham s buses. Shuttlesworth s crusade to end segregation grew even stronger when
he helped cofound the Southern Leadership Conference on Transportation and Nonviolent
Integration. He wasn t the only great leader at this conference; both Martin Luther King Jr. and
Bayard Rustin were present as well, earning the nickname the Big Three. It was here where the
commitment to a non violent civil rights movement was reinforced. Shortly after the conference
concluded Shuttlesworth attempted to enroll his children in an all white school in Birmingham.
With no police in sight, Shuttlesworth was beat to within an inch of his life and his wife was
stabbed. Shuttlesworth had somehow survived a second attempt on his life. However when his
home was once again bombed Shuttlesworth was forced to move to Cincinnati, Ohio where he
became the leader of the Revelation Baptist Church. Cincinnati provided temporary safety for both

The Theme Of Fear In Hide And Seek
The poems Hide and Seek , Remember and Do not go gentle into that good night have all displayed
the theme of fear at its best, using various techniques to achieve their desired effect. Hide and Seek
deals with the fear and nervousness an innocent young boy could experience as he first steps out
into the potentially dangerous, unrestful society, using a simple childhood game to highlight the
stark differences between childhood and adulthood. On the other hand, Remember copes with the
torment and anxietyRossetti encounters of being potentially forgotten by her lover after death,
although she had given in to her view and instead wishes a better life for her partner, born out of a
deep and devoted love for him. Do not go gentle , however,... Show more content on

Case Study Of The Barings Bank
How Nick Leeson Destroyed the Barings Bank
Introduction
How did a trader in Singapore directly cause the collapse of the 230 year old merchant bank in
England? Nick Leeson was the head of Barings Futures Singapore (BFS) which is one of the
subsidiary companies of Barings Group. In 1995, His unauthorized trading activities made Barings
completely went bankrupt. This is the biggest financial scandal of last century. By interpreting the
Barings case and the COSO framework which contains five components of internal control system,
we would have an idea of why Barings became insolvent and how to improve in designing,
performing and evaluating internal control for the company.

duty to fully understand their businesses, strength, weakness, threats and opportunities of the
company. Thirdly, for building an effective and efficient control system, clear and restricted
segregation of duties is a significant and basic step. The lack of separation of responsibilities may
lead to catastrophic consequence that is harmful for everyone within the group. Moreover,
communication is a critical part of business and management. Effective communication brings win

Feminism In The Novel Herland
There are many different ways one may view a utopian society. While looking back in a historical
context of feminism, we may see feminism through a political aspect in a utopian society. The
connection between feminism and utopianism could be drastic if viewing in a historical context
because of the want of a perfect world which would include the equality of women. When reviewing
the novel Herland written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, the author demonstrates her strong views on
feminismthroughout the novel in many different ways. Gilman addresses genderroles throughout her
novel to express her own views of feminism in the late first wave of the feminist movement. To
understand the novel Herland in a historical context one must understand the challenges women
have faced in the mid 1800 s including the aspects of motherhood, marriage and not having the
opportunity to work.
Motherhood has changed throughout the world especially in today s time. In the 20th century
women tend to juggle many different aspects besides motherhood such as a job, school and their
own responsibilities. In the novel Herland the men in the novel express motherhood differently
than the basic norms. The women in the novel are not only expressed as doing the normal duties
of a mother such as cooking, cleaning and taking care of the children. In fact the women in the
novel are shown doing jobs a man would do. In the novel Gilman created her own utopian society
where females were superior and the roles

  • 2. Multiple Choice, Binary Choice And Matching Questions Essay Multiple Choice, Binary Choice, and Matching Questions My greatest strength in writing multiple choice, binary choice, and matching questions is creating scenarios for the multiple choice. I enjoyed writing these scenarios by making up stories that are related to the content. I was also good at keeping track of what we have and what we needed to do. Another strength I had was in creating binary choice question because there is only one right answer. My greatest weakness was coming up with good alternate choices for the multiple choice. I had a hard time with this because the ones that I came up with were either too obvious, not homogeneous, or too similar. Another weakness I had was creating matching because I found it hard to make them all homogeneous. They were also hard to make because we had to come up with different responses that were similar in order for the premises not to stand out. My contribution to the multiple choice, binary choice, and matching questions was that I created many of multiple choice questions this was because I enjoyed writing the scenarios. I also wrote some of the binary questions. I also contributed to the group by helping and collaborating on the matching. I also help by keeping track of what we had in terms of number of different types of questions and the number of learning objectives. I would rate myself a ten out of a ten on my contribution to the multiple choice, binary, matching questions because I did my share of crating the number ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Objectivism And Individualism In Ayn Rand s Anthem What would it be like if we lost all sense of being an individual? Doing everything for the sake of the people around us? Imagine a world that is so highly collectivized that the word I has been banned. Objectivism is a system of philosophy created by Ayn Rand, a Russian American novelist. It has four main principles: objective reality, absolute reason, individualism, and laissez faire capitalism. The concept of objective reality is where the name Objectivism originated. Basically, it means that outside our own personal perceptions, there is one true reality happening. Objectively, there are things going on in the world whether or not a person is there to see them. Objectivism s answer to if a tree falls in the forest and nobody s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the light exposed to an object, the light could be reflected at the surface of the object (specular or diffuse), and it could be absorbed or scattered within the object, or it could refract or totally transmitted through the object44, 45. The wavelengths (colors) that are reflected, refracted or transmitted are perceived by receptor cells (i.e. rods and cones) in the eye and recognized by the brain as a specific color. The wavelengths of visible lightrange from approximately 400 to 700 nm45, 46. The wavelengths that are transmitted, refracted or reflected create the color that is perceived and till about the translucency level of the material. If all light is transmitted, the material will appear completely transparent. If all light is absorbed, the material will appear completely opaque, and the color black is perceived. However, if some of the wavelengths of visible light are absorbed and others reflected, refracted, or transmitted, the color that is perceived corresponds to the wavelengths that are reflected, refracted, or transmitted, and the level of translucency is depend on the amount of the light that transmitted through the material9, 44 46. • 11. The Fall Of The Republic And Fall Main Article When articles are written about the fall of the Republic and the fall of democracy, the blame is often attributed to one man: Julius Caesar. However, a figure that tends to be overlooked in popular history held the consulship over fifty years prior to the Republic s inevitable fall was named Gaius Marius. Coming from an obscure Volscian town in the territory of Arpinum, sixty miles south east of Rome, Plutarch wrote of Marius coming from poor origins and rising to the consulship as an archetypal rags to riches story. This is nothing more than dramatic flair, since in reality he came from a good municipal family who were members of the local aristocracy, with the contemporary view characterising them as powerful nobles in their native town. Upon being elected consul in 107 BC, Marius was presented with the chance to cement his legacy. Accordingly, he began to reform the military. Before leaving for Africa, to finish off Jugurtha, he changed the traditional way of recruitment. Previously, Roman citizens were recruited on the basis of their property qualification: Scullard writes that the rule was that the army should be recruited only from men enrolled in the five classes. Instead, Marius appealed to the proletarii, who were men that lacked the necessary property qualification. This wasn t any great innovation, as property qualifications had already been reduced. He simply completed the next logical step. But the results of this reform were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For that reason, Sherman has encouraged other native American children to be more ambitious. In fact, on Superman and Me Sherman has proven, the ability to learn is not fixed, that it can be changed with someone s efforts alone. Because he doesn t believe failure is a permanent state. Sherman was a 3 year old, Spokane Indian boy living with his family on the Spokane reservation in eastern Washington. A simple curious boy, growing up in a poor household, even for the Washington state standards. Sherman mentions We were poor by most standards, but one of my parents usually managed to п¬Ѓnd some minimum wage job or another, which made us middle class by reservation standards. Hoplites Into Democracy Analysis In his 1996 work titled Hoplites into Democrats: The Changing Ideology of Athenian Infantry, Victor Hanson analyzes the timeline of the Athenian government as it transitions into a democracy and the effect this transition had on their warfare culture. Throughout the article, Hanson refers to the seventh and sixth century BC as the normative polis before democracywhen the government was timocratical and Athens was an early agrarian polis; and then continues his article to emphasize the fifth and fourth centuries BC during the political reforms and the emergence of democracy as the main form of government. With continuous war and battles being fought, the Athenian farmers gained profits because of greater opportunity for theft (301). Hanson pulls from the fragmented works of an anonymous Oxyrhynchus Historian to support his plundering claim. The historian writes that the Athenian countryside was the most lavishly furnished in Greece (300). Hanson draws to the conclusion that Attic farmers in the fifth century BC often took rural property from conquered subjects and then re employed it on their own farms (301). With money being the new standard of privilege, as stated earlier, farmers utilized the lavish material items they plundered to gain economic status within their culture. Another policy that Attic farmers enjoyed under democracy was the introduction of pay for hoplite military service... sometime around the mid fifth century BC (301). Hanson notes that Athenian farmers were discovering the attractions democracy had to offer (301) since compensation was nonexistent during agrarian warfare because it was a necessity to fight to save the farm. The burden of battle shifted between the old regime, where the agrarian community faced battle alone, and the new regime, where the burden was on the entire polis to fight for each other s land (301). In addition, the farm system was created and refined during the great depression. The farm system was a way to cut down the expensive sums of money spent on buying new players. Lauren Vorel, who is a baseball historian, describes the farm system by saying, The farm system allowed major league teams to develop ballplayers in the minor league teams and draft them up to the majors, instead of having to complete expensive trades with other major league teams for developed ball players. Because of the farm system, baseball clubs saved money while still having valuable players. The farm system was prosperous, and many teams began to have success from implementing the farm system. Another big key was that fur trapping and trading changed commerce as well as the natural environment. Europeans wanted commercial connections with Asia. Would a nurse be able to demonstrate the caring moment with a patient if the nurse is on the twelveth hour of the shift? Proposal The objective, for hospitals should be to switch from 12 hour shifts to 8 hour shifts over the next 5 years. During the transitional years, limit the consecutive days that a nurse may work while working 12 hour shifts. Studies show that when nurses work 12 hour shifts more than 2 days in a row, they are more likely to suffer from burn out (Wisetborisut, Angkurawaranon, Jiraporncharoen, Uaphanthasath, Wiwantanadate, 2014, p. 279). If a hospital does decide to keep 12 hour shifts, design schedules so that there are no more than 2 consecutive days in which a nurse is working 12 hour shifts. Hospitals should also make it mandatory to take the next day off after working a 16 hour shift. Another alternative would be after working one 16 hour shift, have the nurse take mandatory time off for no less than sixteen hours following the 16 hour shift. Other factors, such as job loss, health and psychological disabilities can accelerate people s slide into poverty, and for some, eventual homelessness. The lack of housing, access to healthcare, and supportive services, then act as others barriers that keep individuals from moving into a home. There are a variety of different factors that can affect someone and potentially cause them to become impoverished. These factors include: substance abuse (drugs or alcohol), mental illness, domestic violence, job loss, eviction, army, natural disaster, no medical insurance, death of family member, and health problems. We chose these factors because they are the leading causes of homelessness in both men and women.
