Here are some specific strategies you can use to take that fear and turn it into freedom, financial

1. Do the scariest thing on your to do list the first thing in the morning

Death. Something that no one wants to think about much less encounter. Yet we all must come face to
face with death in some way or another. The whole process of losing a loved one and taking care of
the remains made me wonder why we honor the dead the way we do. Why do we bury them or burn
them? What dictates that religion, environment, culture? What is the point of doing anything at all for
the dead? To honor their memory or ease the pain for those left behind? Death in the ancient world
held a deeper meaning than it does today, in the ancient world they look out for your soul and the
journey it is about to embark upon. Our traditions today are merely warped versions from these
ancient traditions. As I examined some of the ancient texts from different cultures, I found something
very surprising, even across different cultures the dead were tended the same way. You would never
notice these similarities, because the rites and meanings are so different, leading me to the conclusion
it wasn t all culture. Environment plays a small role but it was insignificant, in comparison to religion.
Religion or the lack thereof was what made these death rites so different and distinctive. Religion
affects the practices and different rituals surrounding how the dead are laid to rest in the ancient world
as we see in Beowulf, the Iliad, and the Bhagavad Gita. If I say Viking, immediately the image of a
blonde haired pillager comes to mind, and if I say Viking funeral, you think of a ship

While cycling along a farm to market road in southeastern Texas Monday, Mike McGhee was struck
by a vehicle, breaking his shoulder, mangling his bike and cracking his guitar. Actually I m in pretty

O. Henry s short story, A Retrieved Reformation, shows a man s journey through rehabilitation. In the
story, Jimmy Valentine is in jail for robbery. He is then allowed to leave in hope he has finally learned
from his past mistakes, and will stop robbing people to get what he desires. When Jimmy leaves, he
robs many more banks, but does not get caught. Jimmy then goes to a small town so the cops will not
be able to find him, and the town has a train station for him to make a quick getaway. When Jimmy
first arrives to the town, he sees a woman named Annabel Adams and everything changes. He knows
she will not like him if he keeps acting like his old self. Therefore, he decides he will finally change
for the better. He changes his name to Ralph Spencer and starts acting different. This short story
demonstrates change and how you affect people every day whether you realize it or not. At the
beginning of the coming of age story, when Jimmy gets let out of jail, we see how Jimmy has not
changed and he had went back to his old ways. To show this, the author explains multiple robberies
that happened within weeks of each other. Then, Ben Price, the detective trying to find who has been
robbing the banks, realized it was Jimmy Valentine who was back to his old ways. To show this, the

Bordo, Bordo writes an analysis on the male body in advertising. Bordo discusses how in the society
of advertising and fashion the male body isn t really seen as a symbol of arousal compared to the
female body. She continues saying how the naked or half naked female body is seen as an object of
mainstream consumption (p.299), while the male boy is just beginning to be a commercial
representation (p.299) object. She also talks about how the percentage of people viewing these

The sources help to show how looking thin and muscular or fit is the popular trend. She explains that
advertisements and movies have changed to fit the trend and that she wishes the male body would
look more natural rather than a sex object. In Bordo s opinion the male body should be less sexual and
more natural. Although this is a plausible argument I believe that men in the ads should continue to
