This position paper is presented to: Richter Park School District. It argues in favor of additions to
the district facilities, policies, and/or procedures to infuse technology into the programs at Richter
Park High School with the primary focus of creating access to the internet to connect the school to
the students, parents, and community. The purpose of this paper is to argue for changes in the
district facilities, policies, and/or procedures for internetaccess to the Richter Park School for
students, parents, and community. It is clear that in today s schools, internet access is perceived as

According to By Rainie and Hitlin (2005), there is agreement among teens and their parents about
the role that the internet plays in teens education. Eighty six percent of teens, and 88% of online
teens, believe that the internet helps teenagers to do better in school. Eighty percent of parents and
83% of parents of online teens agreed with that proposition . Wright (n.d) shares that the Internet
contains a wealth of knowledge that is available instantly upon any search. Because of this, the
Internet has superseded libraries as a source for information gathering and research. Many teachers
will now ask students to visit specific websites to study from home, and online encyclopedias
provide masses of knowledge on almost every topic imaginable. The variety of sources allows
students to pursue subjects in much greater detail rather than being limited to whatever the teacher
sends home .
It has been discovered through research that 71.7% of the students have access outside of Richter
Park and 28.3% do not have access, 40.6% of the students who qualify for free lunch have access to
computer technology outside of Richter Park High School as compared to 86.7% access for the
students who do not qualify, and 51.7% of ELL students have access to computer technology
outside of Richter Park High

Egyptian Cuisine During The Arab Republic Of Egypt
The unique Egyptian cuisine has been influenced throughout history, particularly by its neighbors
from the Middle East. Those contries that have influenced include Persians (modern day Iraqis),
Greeks, Romans (modern day Italians), Arabs, and Ottomans (from modern day Turkey) first
influenced Egyptian cuisine thousands of years ago. More recently, the foods of other Arabic
people in the Middle Eastsuch as the Lebanese, Palestinians, Syrians, as well as some foods from
Europe, have affected the Egyptian diet.
Rice and bread remain staple foods, and molokhiyya(a spinach like vegetable) and ful mudammas
(cooked, creamy fava beans), a national dish.
The Arab Republic of Egypt is located in the northeastern region of the African continent,
bordering both the Mediterranean and Red Seas. The climate is extremely dry and most of the
country receives less than one inch of rainfall each year. The widespread lack of rainfall makes it
extremely difficult to grow crops. Egypt has no forests and only 2 percent of the land is arable.
The Nile River, the longest river in the world, runs north and south through eastern Egypt and
empties into the Mediterranean Sea. Approximately 95 percent of the country s population lives
alongside the Nile River. This is why the Egyptian cuisine is so high in fish.
Egypt had one of the longest histories of any modern country, arising in the tenth millennium BC as
one of the world s first nation states. Ancient Egypt had some of the earliest

Research Paper On St. Augustine Of Hippo
St. Augustine of Hippo, who is a well known saint in the Catholic Church and around the world,
is looked up to as a person who has gone through many hardships but in the end found his way to
God. Before his conversion to Christianity, Augustine was a man swollen with pride, who sinned
for the fun of it. While living his short lived sinful life, his mother begged a priest to talk to him
so he could persuade him to relieve his bad habits. The priest told his mother that he will find out
for himself through his reading how wrong the beliefs are, and how profoundly irreverent

Troylynn Case Study
On Monday July 17th I was approached by TroyLynn Craft about the upcoming entry level
interview questions Captain Browne and I had been working on. She began with saying it was her
opinion that our questions contained too many follow up questions , and that she thought it would
confuse our candidates. I suggested we sit, and read through each of them together to address her
concerns. At the onset of our meeting, I read through all the questions and determined we only had
three follow up questions, but we adjusted them none the less. TroyLynn had issue with questions
number two, three, and eight. One specifically addresses the diverse communities we serve, and
our diverse work force (#8). She said, this is not a diverse department, I... Show more content on

She went to look up the definition of diversity on her desktop, and I stated, The intent of the
question is to determine if the candidate understands diversity, and more importantly whether
they can speak to delivering service to our customers equitably . TroyLynn then preceded to look
up the word equitably in front of me just as she had the word diversity. It wasn t clear whether
she was looking it up to confirm its definition for me or herself. Rather than make an issue over
the finite details of the question, I suggested taking out the part she had issue with, and we did.
The question now reads: Clackamas fire serves a diverse community; if hired how do you plan
to champion that? I asked TroyLynn some qualifying questions after the edits were made. Why
don t you think we are a diverse fire department? She replied: The only African Americans we
have are not on the line, and the one we had as a volunteer took a job with Portland because he
would be more comfortable there . She went on to say; well, we have Oscar but he identifies as
white, but we do have two in our new academy . I asked; Are we currently doing anything to fix
our lack of diversity ? She mentioned our new application process was in an

Internet Addiction By Greg Beato
Internet addiction has become a huge problem in today s society. In Greg Beato s article, he
discusses the growing phenomena of internet addiction disorder. The writer explains that more
and more people are becoming addicted to the internet. For example, he tells of a teenager in
Ohio, who shot and killed his mom and injured his dad because they took away his Xbox. He tells
how it is stated that five to ten percent of the 52 million internetusers were addicted. The author is
telling us that the internet has become very addictive in our everyday society. My reaction to what I
just read is that I agree with the writer. Beato writes about the growing phenomena of internet
addictiondisorder. I think that because technology has made people live so much easier, that it has
made people unable to properly act right in real life situations without it. I realize that the writer is
trying to inform others about what is going on around them. I believe that the internet has become
very addictive in everyday society. I feel that I can identify with what the author is saying. I feel
like I can identify because I can t go anytime without getting on my laptop. I basically stay on my

The Process Of Becoming A Writer
Becoming a writer is difficult. But if you use specific steps and strategies you can write a great
essay. Using your voice can help you come up with the purpose of an essay. And it can also help
you in the writing process letting you brainstorm, plan and have strong body paragraphs so your
essay will end up excellent.
Using your voice, helps you come up with the purpose of an essay. When using your voice what
you have to say is in your perspective meaning it ll be different from the others. For instance, a
writer is writing, and the purpose of the essay is to share an opinion so the writer would gather

Geography In David Foster s Life
In this chapter, Foster explains how geography is more than just hills, streams, and grasslands it
brings history along with it, and has the ability to shape a character s actions and personality. In
addition, he alludes to the Russians; a people whose toughness and tenacity in defending their
homeland matched the merciless elements (Foster 173), in order to show how the geography, or
place, a person lives in can affect their overall being. Foster claims that geography can also define
or even develop character(Foster 175); he says that traveling back to your real home can help you
discover your true self, because that is where your loved ones are; that is where you grew up; that
is where you know each tree and each stream; and that is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, when Victor first returns to his home, he is comforted by the familiarness of it:
...the delight I took in again beholding thy streams, thy mountains, and, more than all, thy lovely
lake! (Shelly 67). He knows the geography of his homeland; it is where he grew up, and it is
where he will finally see his loved ones again. However, he knows why he is really there it is for
the terrible murder of his younger brother, William. When unable to enter the town, Victor
decides to visit the woods where William was killed. As he approaches the woods, it begins to
rain slowly, and as he gets closer the rain becomes more vicious. When he arrives he exclaims,
William, dear angel! this is thy funeral, this thy dirge! (Shelly 68). A flash of lightning reveals
the silhouette of the ghastly murderer, his own creation, glooming in the midst of trees. This
place now holds the memory of this forever for Victor, these are the woods where his brother
died, and if he is ever to see these woods again, the memory will come rushing back with them.

Similarities Between I Have A Dream And A Raisin In The Sun
A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry has many similarities to the Martin Luther King, Jr. I
Have a Dream speech. Some similarities in both the speech and the book are that there are
promises that are not fulfilled, they are both trying to achieve the American Dream, they both
care about the future of their children, and they both have dealt with obstacles in their quest for
freedom. In the speech it states ...America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check
which has come back marked insufficient funds . (King). King is saying that all of them have
had promises made to them that have not been fulfilled and how the Negro population has been
lied to by America saying that all are created equal and that anything is possible which is not true
to them. This connects to A Raisin in the Sun because in the story the Youngers do not have the
same opportunities as white people. Walter has to work as a chauffeur for white people and he
has bigger dreams than doing this for a job. This is the only opportunity available to him that
enables him to provide for the needs of his family though. This would be possible if people were
treated equally. In both pieces of writing, they have an American Dream that they are trying to
achieve. King wants all men to be treated equally as they have been created equally. He says I
say to you tomorrow, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I
still have a dream. It s a dream deeply rooted in the

Marital Expectations In Edna Pontellier s The Awakening
The pressures and expectations of society can be truly grueling; at times it may seem there is
only one way to escape these pressures. The Awakening follows the transformation of a simple
and obedient housewife, Edna, into a self actualized, empowered woman or so it seems. In an
epiphany, Edna realizes the only way for her to truly escape the oppression she feels from
society and her husband, is to commit suicide. At the beginning of the novel Edna is afraid of
water, at the end, it is her escape. Edna realizes that her biggest fear of overcoming society s
expectations is inescapable and these expectations literally and metaphorically drown her.
However, it is unclear if Edna actually made this choice made for herself or if society chose it...

Edna s life completely lacked passion: passion for her husband, passion to be a mother, or even
passion towards her art. Edna lacks the internal motherly instincts expected of a woman, She
was fond of her children in an uneven, impulsive way. She would sometimes gather them
passionately to her heart; she would sometimes forget them. The year before they had spent part
of the summer with their grandmother Pontellier in Iberville. Feeling secure regarding their
happiness and welfare, she did not miss them except with an occasional intense longing. Their
absence was a sort of relief, though she did not admit this, even to herself. It seemed to free her
of a responsibility which she had blindly assumed and for which Fate had not fitted her (Chopin
18). Edna refuses to become the property of her husband even though obedience was expected,
You have been a very, very foolish boy, wasting your time dreaming of impossible things when
you speak of Mr. Pontellier setting me free! I am no longer one of Mr. Pontellier s possessions to
dispose of or not. I give myself where I choose. If he were to say, Here, Robert, take her and be
happy; she is yours, I should laugh at you both (Chopin 108). This is ironic because at this time
according to Louisiana law, women were, in fact, their husband s property. Edna s husband tried
to control Edna s choices and behavior. The oppression Edna feels from her marriage is
symbolically represented through the parrot at the beginning of the novel. The parrot is caged,
showing Edna s imprisonment in her own marriage. The parrot also shrieks and curses at Mr.
Pontellier after he scolds Edna, showing what Edna wishes she had the power to do, retaliate
(Chopin 1). This symbolic representation is present throughout the novel in showing Edna s
imprisonment in her own life. The bird s shrieking shows how Edna wishes she could stand up for

Piano Concert Review
On April 12, 2016 I attended Susan Davis and Dr. Robert Wells Bach, Rach and Blues piano
selections from Baroque period to the modern Blues Era. This was great experience for me
because it was my first time attending a concert that was being played on the piano throughout the
entire concert. It was also a great experience because I gotten the chance to see my musicprofessor

to see my music professor (Mrs. Davis) play an entire piece. This concert gave inspiration to go
after my once and now childhood dreams of playing the piano. I just love to hear the melody of
the piano because its gives the music a new sound with a deeper meaning. Mrs. Davis s class
really gave insight on the baroque which help me understand the era being tribute to in the
performances. Each baroque and blues section had two selections that was being played. The two

Controversy arose in the when a pair of experts, together with Melinek and Dr. Michael Graham,
told reporters that Brown s wounds were in line with Wilson s rationalization of events, but
Melinek later told reporters that her words had been to a certain extent been misconstrued. She
said that she had judged the forensic proof in the official autopsy report and the officers
statements were totally consistent. Given that the report showed the wound to Brown s right arm
was close by and in line to the barrel of the officer s gun when it discharged, it may mean he had
was reaching for the gun.
To make herself clearer, she said that the teen reaching out for the gun is not the only explanation
for the officer to shot. It is the officer who said that he was going for the gun and the right arm
wound supports that. She admitted to having limited information on that report and confirmed it
may also be consistent with other circumstances. This shows that for justice to be serviced the
witnesses needs to talk to the grand jury while the jury listens to all the unprejudiced testimony and
contrast those statements to the physical evidence.
The autopsy found the fatal shots came from a downward action into the top of the teens head. All
except one of the gunshots, seemed to have struck him in the front of his body, consistent to what
the witnesses said, and he had been facing the

Automobile Pollution Essay
Automobiles Consuming Fossil Fuels and Pollution in America
Why do Americans buy so many products knowing they are causing pollution? That may be
because they enjoy shopping. Every product causes some sort of pollution. For instance,
automobiles cause a great amount of pollution. The sad part is that the mass production of
automobiles has been growing larger every year, ever since the Model T Fords came out.
Between 1908 and 1927, Ford produced about 15 million Model T cars, which is on average 790
thousand cars produced every year. Today, the company sells about 2.5 million automobiles
annually. In other words, Ford produces over 3 times as many automobiles today. Over production
and consumption of automobiles induces the consumption of fossil fuels. Consuming gasoline to
run cars was the idea of over a century ago. With the quantity of the production of cars today, it is
not efficient to use the same old method to run cars. Water and oxygen are most vital for humans. If
we pollute all of the water and air in the world, extinction will be our only option. Americans should
eliminate the excessive consumption of automobiles because it leads to overconsumption of fossil
fuels, which causes pollution. Three common types of pollution are air pollution, water pollution,
and noise pollution.
In the past century, cars and trucks have turned from objects of desire into a person s basic needs.
After factories, automobiles are the biggest air polluters of America. Air pollution is a

The Importance Of Building A Monument
Although building a statue or memorial seems simple you think of something you want to build or
memorialize, you choose a location, you design it, and then of course, you build it. However, the
actual process proves to be more controversial and painstaking. The difficulties when it comes to
building a statue or monument should arise prior to building the actual monument. The most
critical stages of development are throughout the design and planning process. This is due to the
many factors that have to go into consideration when designing a monument the overall purpose of
the monument, the design of the monument, and choosing the right location and position of the
monument all while considering ways to strengthen the aura and draw in more visitors. The main
purpose of a monument is by far the factor that should receive the utmost consideration and
development. This is because the other stages of development and design revolve around the
purpose of the monument. Before you can decide what a monument will look like, you must know
what you want to accomplish with the monument along with the feelings you wish to inspire in
visitors. For example, if you wanted to portray a soldier s courage and strength through a statue,
you may not want to build a 5 foot tall, flimsy aluminum statue of a smiling soldier with open arms,
ready to embrace a hug. The significance of a monumental purpose was highlighted in Christine
Musser s Preserving Memory: National Holocaust Memorial Museum

These three texts develop awareness in the responder of the power of attitudes, the ignorance and
fear behind racism and how pervasive racial tension has been from one generation to another.
To kill a mockingbird investigates the racial tension in Maycomb by analysing features of
attitudes towards Negroes that date back many generations. The meaning of the title To Kill a
Mockingbird itself evokes the idea of racism that Lee wants to portray to the composer. Throughout
the book, Tom Robinson is symbolised as the most important mockingbird an innocent who has
been injured or destroyed. He is the mockingbird who helps his accuser in her chores and is killed
due to the deep seated attitudes towards African Americans present in the southern states of
America. Mr. Underwood compares his death to the the senseless slaughter of songbirds .
Lee also explores the systems which were present in those times that allowed for the racism to
continue throughout the society. Judicial systems, political system, social system was structured
for racism, segregation and discrimination. The Social system in Maycomb revolves around the
fact that the Negroes despite their admirable qualities lie at the bottom of a social hierarchy which
is headed by the Finches, followed by the townspeople who are in front of the ignorant farmers like
the Cunningham s who are in turn of a higher class than the white trash people like the Ewells. This

Discrimination Against Black Males
Finding myself in a place I wasn t supposed to be became the catalyst for realizing the danger I was
in from simply being a young black male.
Sometimes something as simple as hanging out with friends ends in almost losing your life. I had
grown up around kids from wealthy backgrounds, lived in an area with little to no crime, and been
raised like any other kid. I wasn t completely oblivious to the fact that i was black, in fact my
parents reminded me often that i wasn t the same as the kids I went to school with. Despite being
told that I was different, I ignored it, I ignored everything and had the delusion that because of my
personal background I was untouchable. When my friends and I decided to go trespass at a school

problem well before we are treated as people. I carry these view with me every day and from that
point on they have defined my every action. I think twice before doing most things because
having this skin color is a challenge, the world tries to see everything that I do as wrong and
they try to make me a statistic. The incident taught me that I will always look threatening no
matter what I m doing or where I m doing it. It taught me to be cautious, and not to fall into the

Becoming A Lawyer Essay
Unlike many on my classmates I am studying to become a lawyer. The legal field has remained
firmly set in the past. Most legal documents need to be delivered in person to the court. The old
nature of the legal system has been slow to change of time some states like Georgia refuse to
implement online system that allow a professional to submit documents online. Even the trusts
and will are found as paper copies in a binder or stapled. The private nature of most practices in
the legal field require that most actions are done through paperwork. The paperwork written to
the extent that there could be hundreds of pages per case. To understand the information in a
case lawyers will be required to physically read each page of the documents. Many of the
practices also involve in an in person basis where the lawyer and the client would have to talk
face to face conversations. To set myself ahead of my competition I decided to take up a Business
Administration which allow me to start a business background which will help if I want to enter
into business/corporate law. Some work in the legal field have advanced through the use of

Informative Essay On Windshields
The Drive shared, It wasn t until the late 1920s that safety glass, windshields, were introduced.
After the 1920s windshields quickly became a common safety feature in vehicles. Chris Loberg,
owner of Loberg s Auto Glass and Repair, is the man behind the profession of replacing and
installing windshields since 2003, it s 2016 now. While the safety and advertising in 2003 and
2016 are similar, there are also so many technology changes that made installing auto glasssafer and
making advertising a little more challenging. In 2003 Chris Loberg started Loberg s Auto Glass

Motherless Princesses In Disney Films
Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Jasmine
from Aladdin, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and even Elsa and Anna from Frozen all have one
thing in common: They are motherless. This presentation will explore Disney s motherless
princesses and how women are represented in the films. Not only are the mothers absent but when
there is a mother figure in place she is cruel and evil. To understand exactly why this is so
prevalent in many Disney films, this work will build upon the works of Ann Hall and Mardia
Bishop, Marjorie Worthington, and Lynda Haas. Thus, it appears Disney movies have removed
mothers and replaced them with evil or uncaring mother figures. Also, multiple sources contend that

widely discussed, and all eras of princess films are consistent in their erasure of a mother figure.

Motivation in Industrial/Organizational Psychology
Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology is devoted to the study of employee behavior in the
workplace and understanding the issues facing organizations and employees in today s complex
and ever changing environment. Motivation refers to the set of forces that influence people to
choose various behaviors among several alternatives available to them. An organization depends on
the ability of management to provide a positive, fostering and motivating environment for its
employees in order to increase profits, productivity and lower turnover rates of its employees. The
purpose of this paper is to discuss and compare six academic journal articles and explore the
behavior, job, and need based theories of motivation that can aid management in motivating and
understanding their employees. Finding that delicate balance to can sometimes be elusive so
effectively learning how to motivate by understanding, controlling and influencing factors to
manipulate behavior and choices that are available to employees can produce the desired outcome.
Behavior based motivation such as Equity Theory, Expectancy Theory and Reinforcement Theories
are built on the premise that employee behavior is directly linked to the consequences of their
actions. Equity theory tries to define the measurement and the satisfaction relationship of

Role of Children s Television in the Global Marketplace...
Abstract
It was not long ago that there was wide agreement among broadcasters, scholars, educators and
parents concerning the ultimate goal of children s television programming: to educate. Today, it
would be difficult to find even two people to agree on such terms. Popular opinion would lead us to
believe that broadcasters now seek to exploit the youngest members of their audience turning them
into life long viewers (and consumers). Scholars and educators woefully condemn television for the
dumbing down of America. Parents, no longer present during all television viewing hours, may not
even be aware of what their children are watching. When we add an international perspective into
the mix, we inevitably invite phrases such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first (and most common) is Open Sesame. In this format, the opening and closing segments of
the show are made locally, but the rest of the program is compiled from material produced by the
United States and leased to the foreign country.2 The second method (and the one most commonly
touted by CTW ambassadors) is co production. In this method, foreign nations play a larger role in
the compilation of footage for the show: some is produced locally, some is from the United States.
As of 1988, there were 15 co productions worldwide, and that number has remained quite constant
since that time.3 The U.S. version uses little, if any, foreign material.4
CTW remains a not for profit U.S. corporation with a 1994 operations reserve fund of $34 million
and an endowment of $71 million.5. Foreign franchisers of Sesame Street are restricted by an
agreement with CTW that does not permit the program to be aired with commercials. All profit
comes, in turn, from toy sales and is immediately turned over and utilized by the extensive research
design system that is unique to CTW and Sesame Street. 6
It is, in fact, the CTW research system that has drawn the most criticism from the global front. The
system implements two types of testing: formative and summative. Formative tests are those

The Ugliness Of Human Nature In Wuthering Heights
Human beings can be truly deranged creatures. Often times they are seen as elevating and putting
themselves on a pedestal. They will treat people who are not the same as them as they are garbage
and worthless. Although it is not their fault to simply put it, it is human nature. More specifically
the ugliness of human nature. The complex characters in Wuthering Heightsare guilty of this. Their
circumstances drive them to do unthinkable things which unfortunately have drastic outcomes.
Emily Bronte s Wuthering Heights is a beautifully written novel that shows the ugliness of human
nature as seen through the depiction of toxic relationships, displaying revenge and vengeance in the
differentiation of social class.
The ugliness of human nature is undoubtedly shown through toxic relationships in Wuthering
Heights. They toxicity can be shown through almost every character relationship. The bain of
toxic relationships can be shown right in the beginning of the novel with Hindley and
Heathcliff. They immediately get off on the wrong foot all because one of them chooses to let
their ugliness take over. Hindley is extremely jealous of Heathcliff, ...and is subject to Hindley s
jealousy almost right away (Galt). His jealousy sparks from the fact that his father seems to
favour Heathcliff over him. This does Heathcliff no favours as it causes Hindley to be cruel and
brutal towards him. Infact, on several occasions Hindley can be found almost abusing Heathcliff,
Take my colt, Gipsy, then! said young Earnshaw. And I pray that he may break your neck: take
him, and he damned, you beggarly interloper! and wheedle my father out of all he has. (Bronte 4)
and Off dog! cried Hindley, threatening him with an iron weight used for weighing potatoes and
hay. (Bronte 45). The abuse and hatred that Heathcliff receives from such a young age cause him
to give the same treatment in the other relationships in his life. In Heathcliff s relationship with
Isabella he can be seen showing the same abuse towards her, Heathcliff seized, and thrust Isabella
from the room; and returned muttering I have no pity! I have no pity! The more the worms writhe,
the more I yearn to crush out their entrails! It is a moral teething; and grind

Essay on The Decline of British Military Innovation
World War I was perhaps the greatest catalyst for military innovation in modern history. The speed
in which the doctrinal, technical and tactical changes were developed and implemented was
astounding. At the end of World War I, Britain was at the forefront of doctrinal and technological
innovation in the field of armor and aircraft warfare. The factors which caused Britain to lose their
innovative edge in these areas prior to World War II was the 10 year rule policy, operational
attitude of the British Army, and an emphasis on land based aviation. At the conclusion of World
War I, Britain had the largest navyin the world, a brand new Royal Air Force(RAF) and an army that
had extended its technical, tactical and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ten year policy was used by the British Government to continually decrease defense spending
until the policy was ended in 1932. The second factor that stifled the innovation of the British
military is the operational attitude of the military leadership. The British military failed to study
the lessons learned from World War I until 1932. This failure to study the battles of the war in a
timely manner resulted in the development of inferior doctrine and training concepts. If the lessons
would have been learned earlier than 1932, substantial changes could have been made to the
British doctrine and professional military education system prior to 1932. The structural,
leadership and cultural changes to the British Army after World War I contributed to a pervasive
disinterest in innovation. The ideas and attitudes of the military leadership remained those of the
prewar army. Those who seemed to be innovators were outcast and the leadership of the British
Army did not take their ideas seriously. Between 1923 and 1928, the British Army conducted
numerous field exercises to determine the proper use of mechanized or armored forces. Although
some shortfalls were identified in these maneuvers, the overall potential of armored forces was
evident. These tests identified the tactical advantages of firepower and maneuver of armored forces
and the considerable logistical and

Natural Gas Research Paper
Introduction What separates natural gas from other fuel types is that it can be used in power
generation, industrial, commercial, transportation and residential while producing approximately
half of the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions than its largest competitor coal. An abundant amount of
natural gas available within the borders of the United States opens many opportunities including the
chance become more energy independent. As natural gasbecomes further available in the world
technology will continue to compete for ways to eliminate the use of coaland other fossil fuels.

Luckily for the industry with the backing of the government comes a lot of money to perfect the
uses for it. Already states are putting money towards new plants, refurbishing old coal plants
into natural gas plants, and even making upgrades to be able to mix the two products since coal
is still being delivered for the fore seeable future. Already on the road today there are fleets that
utilize the efficiency of natural gas while lowering their carbon footprint, technologies such as
natural gas fueled transportation, houses that can run all appliances more efficiently (i.e.
fireplaces, dryers, stoves, water heaters), and devices to more efficiently extract the energy source
are just a few of the advantages that we can already see. As time advances the technology that this
fuel source will affect will continue to improve and reach new heights unimaginable to us today.

The Pros And Cons Of Federalists And Republicans
After Washington s historic term as president, he warned in his farewell address to the American
citizens against political parties and foreign affairs and encouraged them to unify as one republic.
Despite Washington s advice to the nation, political parties and foreign affairs were yet established
that divided the nation into two opposing factions: Federalists and Republicans. The Federalists, led
mainly by Alexander Hamilton, were the citizens who favored the Constitution. Anti Federalists, on
the other hand, were the citizens who opposed the ratification of the Constitution and sided with
Jefferson to form the Democratic Republican Party. While Federalists envisioned America with a
strong, complex, and centralized government, Republicans wanted America to remain a small
federal government where states and local governments held the majority of the power.
Many of the Federalist plans were centered around the idea of a strong, centralized government
that was effective and organized in the way it ran. Those who were Federalists, generally, were
people of professions and advocates of commercial interest. Alexander Hamilton, who led the
Federalist Party, wanted to pay off the national debt by establishing a national bank, restoring trade
with Britain, and encouraging American manufacturing through government tariffs in order to
improve the economy after the American Revolution. Hamilton believed that a strong and cohesive
government would allow these plans to work effectively

The Social Network Is A Product Of Our Time Essay
The social network is a product of our time and a timely comment on how we live now.
At the end of David Fincher s film, The Social Network, Sean Parker sums up the progress of
today s society we lived on farms, then we lived on cities, and now we are going to live on the
internet . Narrated through parallel story lines; the process of creating Facebook and the resulting
lawsuits between Zuckerberg and Saverin and the Winklevoss Twins and Diva Nirendera. The film
re tells the story of the birth of Facebook, created by Mark Zuckerberg and his associates, Eduardo
Saverin and Sean Parker. The idea of human interest is explored throughout, in the lasting
consequences that jealousy, greed and betrayal has on relationships. Through this Fincher provides
a critique of how today s society connects. The realism of the film, created thorough costuming,
dialogue and lighting accentuates the need for real relationships, messy and vulnerable though they
are, compared to disconnected virtual ones which lack warmth and authenticity. Fincher provokes
the audience to question their own lives and asks if a society that lives on the internet is a good
direction to head.
The opening scenes of the film introduce Mark Zuckerberg, the most enigmatic character in the film
who comes to symbolise the disconnection that society has come to associate with generation Y.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Citizenship
According to Weber, in the political sense, citizenship indicated membership in the state. Each
citizen, regardless of his or her category, had certain political rights and privileges. Weber said that
the concept of citizenship was unfamiliar in India, the Middle East (the Islamic regions) and China.
This is due to the fact that these societies lacked autonomy because of the water problem and had
magical barriers (Citizenshipand Orientalism Lecture, February 9). These barriers existed between
clans and tribes as well as families. There were several advantages and disadvantages of
citizenship. An advantage was that citizens had the right to seek specific jobs; a disadvantage was
that some legal requirements were forgotten about. A city... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The occidental cities are known to be more rationalized, secularized, and modernized while the
oriental cities are commonly perceived as the irrational, religious, and traditional ones
(Citizenship and Orientalism Lecture, February 9). There were two reasons why development
took place only in the occident. The first one was the peculiar character of the organization of
defense. Water and irrigation problems were linked to discrepancies in the cultural change of
certain societies. As a result, kingdoms basically rose because of water and irrigation systems. In
Asia, the ruler used military monopoly to establish his power. The second reason is that the orient
was associated with ideas and institutions related to magic, according to Weber. The cathedral and
Eucharist were symbols of the unity of the city, however, the Jews were forbidden from praying in
that cathedral; they were also not allowed to form kibbutzim movements. Later on, in the Western
countries, the first aspect was that the prophecy phenomenon among the Jews destroyed the magic,

Essay about B2B v. B2C Supply Chains
B2B v. B2C Supply Chains
Introduction In the age of technology business has come a long way and evolved tremendously.
It used to be that brick and mortar was the only way to open and run a business. However, the
internet has changed all of that now businesses can use technology to reach customers and other
businesses all over the world. This has caused a great surge in the world wide economy. In 2003
Business to Business (B2B) commerce tipped the scales at $1.41 Trillion. This is in comparison to
Business to Consumer (B2C) that was $90.1 Billion (Naraine, R.2003). All of these purchases need
to get transported and that is where businesses supply chains come in play. Contrary to popular

However, these are just the tip of the iceberg. B2C eCommerce now has matured and includes a
myriad of online services. These services can/ do include online banking, travel services, online
auctions, health information, real estate as well as some less reputable sites (Patton, S., 2001).
B2B vs. B2C Supply Chain The B2B and B2C supply chains might appear to be similar however,
that assumption can not be further from the truth. The main difference between the two is the
amount of channels a product must flow through before reaching the end user. With B2B there are
less total channels however they are greater in size when to compared to the greater amount of
smaller channels with B2C. (Marketing Profs, 2005) For example: A new car manufactureris
looking for tires to put on their new line of cars. They would deal directly with a tire
manufacturer to get their product. The channels would simply be from the car manufacturer tire
manufacturer raw supplies dealers. Now let s look at an individual looking to book a flight and
hotel in Las Vegas. The chain would be as follows, individual online store airline airline staff hotel
hotel staff. The next difference comes with technology and that is integration, B2B needs to be
integrated to their business partners software for smooth resupply , billing, etc. This is an

Dengue Fever And Dengue Syndrome
Dengue is a type of vector borne viral disease, transmitted by the Aedes mosquitoes. Dengue has
four antigenically different virus stereotypes (DENV 1 4), (though there was a report in 2013 that
identified a fifth stereotype) (Guzman Harris, 2015) (Dengue, 2016) (Normile, 2013). It is
estimated that there are 50 million new cases of dengue fevereach year worldwide. A portion of
these cases can develop into sever infections, namely dengue hemorrhagic feverand dengue shock
syndrome, these sever infections are also associated with increased mortality rates. Approximately
12,000 deaths each year are contributed to dengue, and of these deaths the victims are mainly
children (Bouzid et. al. 2014).
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines global climatechange as a large scale change in
climate patterns over the years, which includes changes in rainfall and temperature related
greenhouse effects, where radiation gets trapped beneath the atmosphere. The average global
temperature is predicted to rise 2.0 4.5ЛљC by the year 2100, which would have significant impact
on vector borne diseases. The temperature range for dengue is between 14 В°C and 40 В°C. With
a 2 В°C increase in temperature the extrinsic incubation period of dengue will be shortened and
more infected mosquitoes will be available for a longer period of time. Mosquitoes will also bite
more frequently because of dehydration and thus further increase man mosquito contact (WHO,
2014)

laws. Abortion is the termination of a fetus from the womb before it is able to survive
independently. Abortion has been a hot topic for quite a long time and has affected many lives of
women in every socioeconomic situation throughout human history. Until 1880, women in the
United States were using abortionas a device for population control From then on, abortion was
only legal if the woman s life was in danger. After, women were going to drastic, dangerous
measures to have illegal abortions that, usually, resulted in hospital visits because of the damage it
did to their own health. As time went on, groupings of the population started helping... Show more

Though it plays a part in it, Alia Hyod wrote an article, Birth Control and Abortion , to demonstrate
the hypocracy of Planned Parenthood s article, 5 Ways to Prevent Abortion , because half of
Planned Parenthood s health center funds is from providing abortions. Hyod states pregnant
women who come to Planned Parenthood for counseling, almost 98% have abortions. Two
percent receive prenatal care. Less than half of one percent are referred for adoption (4 6). Birth
control is not absolute. According to Hyod, Planned Parenthood estimates that 2 9% of pill users
will get pregnant in any given year and 15 24% of condom users will still wind up with an
unplanned pregnancy (15). In the article, Abby Johnson, a director of Planned Parenthood, admits
that she became pregnant three times while using a contraceptive(17). Also, in the article, Planned
Parenthood states that the only absolute contraceptive is abstinence(16). Hyod shares Ann Freuri s
comment on birth control at a debate in 2008 saying, We live in a society where we know
contraception fails. In the real world, out of women who are using the pill well, about 8 in every
100 will get pregnant in the course of a year... (12). Women need to know the truth about
contraceptives and think more carefully before the have intercourse; and there needs to programs
that will support and help women with their extenuating circumstances instead of recommending
them for an abortion

Franz Joseph Haydn
Franz Joseph Haydn was an Austrian composer of the Classical Era. Apart from being considered
as one of the most influential and significant composers of the Western classical music, he was
also known as one of the three composers part of First Viennese School composers, which also
included Mozart and Beethoven. He composed The PianoSonata in E flat major, Hob. XVI:49, and
dedicated it to Mrs. Maria Anna Edle von Genzinger. This piece is rather representative of works
written in his late period since it is one of his last piano sonatas. Composed for the fortepiano,
this piece can be described as incorporating the Viennese keyboard style, as well as, many other
musical ideas gathered by Hadyn in England. The sonata is divided into 3 movements: Allegro,
Adagio e cantabile and Finale: Tempo di Minuet. He opened his first movement with a theme in a
question and answer style that evokes a dialogue. In this movement, the sense of humour and
seriousness expressed at the same time, makes the contrast more distinct. It also reflects the
introspection and determination. The second movement is in the ternary form (ABA) and it has a
singing style. It is in B flat major with highly decorated thematic material, and the lyrical phrasing
makes the piece tranquil and peaceful. The theme is repeated in a more expressive manner and as
it progresses to the middle of the movement, it becomes contrasting. Touches of the tonic minor add
a melancholic feel to it, causing the mood to become dark.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Essay about Todd Gitlin Summary on Media
Michael S. Earl Ms. Welch Eng 111 4177 Essay 2 10 March 2011 Gitlin s View Todd Gitlin is a
notable author born in New York City. He attended the University of California at Berkeley,
where he received a PhD in sociology and was heavily involved in the Students for a Democratic
Society group. Gitlin is now a professor at New York University where he teaches culture,
journalism, and sociology. Gitlin s selection, Supersaturation, or, The Media Torrent and

We have become immune to true feelings for individual images and stories, and thrive on the
idea of the next gossip that will follow. In this selection of the book, Gitlin discusses a
seventeenth century Dutch painter by the name of Vermeer. Vermeer was known for being able
to fr[ee]ze instants, but instants that spoke of the relative constancy of the world in which his
subjects lived (Gitlin 558). People collected Vermeer s paintings for display throughout their
homes. Gitlin sees Vermeer as the seventeenth century version of the media. In that time, the
images painted were relative to the people s era and private world. In today s world Vermeer
would be the equivalent to a celebrity photographer or movie director. If Vermeer, or any other
artist of his time, were to see today s households, they would find that the once private space
inside the home is now much more dominated by images of the outside world than what would
have been possible in the 1600 s. As mentioned in Gitlin s research, statistics show that, watching
TV is the dominant leisure activity of Americans, consuming 40 percent of the average person s
free time as a primary activity [when people give television there undivided attention] (Gitlin 560).
Even the wealthier parts of poor worlds have access to some sort of media. It would take someone
from a third world country to be stunned by the fact that our lives are constantly portrayed through

Alcatraz as a Tourist Attraction Essay
It s 1934, prohibition is the law, and organized crime is booming. You ve been convicted of tax
evasion and have spent the last couple years at the Atlanta U.S. Penitentiary. With several thousand
dollars stuffed in the hollow handle of your tennis racket, and a warden in your pocket, you ve
been living lifelike a king. But all that s about to come to and end, you find yourself standing on
Pier 41, Fisherman s Warf, San Francisco bay. It s early morning and the fog obscures your
view. As it starts to lift and recede into the ocean, it takes along with it all forms of courage and
hope that still remain within you. All that s left is the view before you, twenty two acres of solid
granite surrounded by a fast moving sea of icy waters.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The weather on the island is cold and windy most to the time, and, with exception to the other
tourist, the feeling you get while there is one of bitterness and despair. So how has this island
managed to survive this long? It has survived through the interest of the people that do not inhabit
it. It has survived because of tourism.
So how has Alcatraz transformed from one of the most feared prisons of its time, to one of San
Francisco s most popular tourist attractions? I feel this question demands an answer because no
other prison in U.S. history has ever been so popular for so many different reasons. It started as a
U.S. Army fort, then became a high security prison, was then the inspiration to the Indian
Movement, and ended its career to this day as a popular tourist attraction. I feel that the fears and
stories that have escaped from the island during the time it was a federal prison, have heightened
people s curiosity about what it was like to be a prisoner of The Rock. Each day more and more
people venture to Pier 41, they buy their ticket aboard the Old Blue, and start their adventure to the
island of the unknown. Experience the infamous Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary (Blue Gold Fleet,
2001). This is one of the many advertisements the Blue Gold Fleet offer to tourist in hopes of
attracting business. And after waiting in line for over an hour just to get tickets, I don t think they

Arguments For Scottish Independence
On September 18th, 2014 the people of Scotland voted to stay within the United Kingdom by a
55.5% vote of the 84.6% turnout (Scotland s Future, 2013). Although a large turnout by voting
standards, the marginal lead of the winning vote was slim. A main argument for Scottish
independence was to keep tax, economic, and social security decisions in the hands of the people
whom it affected, the Scottish people themselves; rather than the Westminster Government who
determined those factors for the whole of the United Kingdom(Scotlands Future, 2014). If Scotland
was to become independent from the United Kingdom, it would be proposed that they would

Some voters did not understand where Parliament would get their funding, they had distrust in
the First Minister s argument, and their own risk assessment on whether it was worth it or not.
The main consensus for their reason of voting No was that they were united together 300 years
previously and should stay united. There was also a lack of understanding in the reasons for
independence. The demographics of the vote showed that millennials of the sixteen to
seventeen age range voted for the independence of Scotland, 71%. The voting in ages between
eighteen and fifty four was almost a fifty fifty split in the demographic ranges. However when it
came to the age group of sixty five and older, a large 73% voted No. Scottish born residents weren t
the only ones allowed to vote. Anyone who resided in Scotland over the age of sixteen was
allowed to vote, which is where approximately 400,000 votes from people of England, Wales, and
Northern Ireland came from. The almost 800,000 Scottish people who lived in the United Kingdom
but not in Scotland however, did not get to vote on the issue of independence in 2014 (Black Q A

How Is Hedda Gabler Unsympathetic
In the late 1800s, George Bernard Shaw said to Elizabeth Robbins, You were sympathetically
unsympathetic, which was the exact solution in the central difficulty of playing Hedda. A character
this is sympathetically unsympathetic is not easy to play, as the two are opposites that must still

The Rood
The Dream of The Rood: lines 94 120 The Dream of The Rood is a religious poem written in the
time of the Anglo Saxons. It is unknown who the author is as well as the date in which the poem
was written. The poem first appeared in a late tenth century Old English manuscript consisting of
poems and sermons. The poem may have come before the actual manuscript. Parts of the poem
were carved in a stone crossat some time after its construction early in the eighth century. This
speech occurs in lines 94 to 120. Before this selected passage the poem is opened with the
Dreamers visions of the Cross, also known as the Rood, which lays out the poems plot. In the
poem the person that is telling the story is a dreamer who, while admiring, the cross notices... Show

This refers to the point of the whole poem which is redemption. To be able to reach the point of
being redeemed the passage says, who bears the best/ sign on his breast (line 117). This line is
saying that whoever whole heartedly believes in Christ and appreciates what he did for the
people they can obtain eternal life therefore being redeemed. This passage gives a major theme
for the whole poem. It tells what Christ did for the sins of people who did not even care for
Him. The beginning of the poem is about the beginning of someone s spiritual life where they
are just being introduced to Christ and the end being redeemed. This passage is the part in the
poem that connects the beginning with the end. For people uncertain in what they believe about
Christ this passage can give someone the act of being redeemed as it did for the Dreamer at the
end of the poem. LANGUAGE: This passage is written in prose form. There is a change of
diction in this passage of the poem. Throughout the poem the diction has changed, in this passage
it is using more influential words as a preacher would use in a sermon. The formal element of
diction used in this passage shows the importance of what is being told. It reveals in the whole
passage that the Cross is just a symbol that represents what is most important

Dangers Of Tanning Beds
Being the daughter of woman who has had both basal cell and squamous cell skin cancer, I am
biased in my belief that tanning beds cause skin cancer. As a teenager, I never used the services of a
tanning salon, because my mother and my dermatologist succeeded in terrifying me about the
dangers of tanning beds. Not surprisingly the article I found, Congressional Investigation Finds
Tanning Salons Lie About Health Risks to Patrons , confirmed my beliefs. The article summarizes a
study that was completed by the U.S House and Energy Committee, which revealed that 90% of the
300 tanning salons that were researched by the committee had denied the inherent risks associated
with tanning beds. In addition, the author of the article, Mikaela Conley, compares and contrasts
the causation between skin cancerand tanning beds between professionals who have conflicting
interests.

my beliefs. This claim did make me question the validity of the link between tanning beds and skin
cancer. However, when Lee suggested that dermatologists are monopolizing the tanning industry, he
provided evidence that suggested dermatologists have been drastically decreasing their use of
phototherapy. As a result, I believe that increased awareness has led most dermatologists to look for

The Role Of Prosody Of Oral English
Brown (1992) explains that from the view of understanding ordinary spoken English, the failure to
move outside the basic elements of prosody of oral English must be observed as catastrophic for
any learner who wants to manage with the native English position. (Brown, 1992) He further,
writes that when a learner is only exposed to articulate English, he will trust on audio signals,
which he will be denied when he meets the Standard English of native speakers. (Brown, 1992) By
stating this, Brown meant that singular sounds or tones are affected by the surrounding language,
and are often said differently from what an English learner who depends on dictionary would
expect. For this, Brown (1992) states that for effective communicationin English language, listening
are significantly enhanced by learningvia elucidation and satisfactory practice of how the words and
sounds transform according to the prosodic impact of the speaker s intents. Focus on English
pronunciation directions, thus, should be to give leaners the prosodic basis within which the
sounds or tones are structured. (Brown, 1992) Instructions should focus on the ways in which

She notes that the role of prosody in language segmentation is to choose whether adjacent units of a
communication fit to the same or different phonological unit. (Mora,2008) It also aids in location
of words, clauses or phrases in a speech. That before a child acquires and comprehends grammar or
utterances they hear, they must first be able to locate linguistically relevant units in the speech, and
thus, prosody helps in the segmentation process of prosodic changes like pausing, pitch resetting
that may occur at linguistic boundaries. (Mora,

Analysis Of Seven Staircases Of Growth Strategies
Analysis of Seven Staircases to Growth
The distinctive seven staircases of growth strategies have been adopted by many successful
companies, such as Walt Disney, Gillette, Johnson Johnson, Home Depot, and many more. While
one single strategy may not yield a significant growth effect, implementing them concurrently and
consecutively can provide a powerful roadmap for near term and long term growth (Baghai, Coley,
White, 1996). Below is an analysis of Raytheon s seven staircases to continuous growth.
1.Maximizing existing customers:
Raytheon s primary customers are defense, other government, as well as commercial customers in
both domestic and international markets. The principal U.S. government customer includes the

This is how the customer validates the bidders qualifications, and at the same time it s a mean for

3.Innovation of products and services
Innovation is an important factor to enhance and differentiate Raytheon s offerings from those of
the competitors. The company s success depends on its ability to develop new and innovative
products and technologies in responding to the customer s critical needs. Brown (1991) pointed out
that Innovation can be a powerful method of securing a sustainable competitive advantage in both
growing and mature markets (p. 196). Although technological innovation is the most recognizable
type, it s worth noting that innovation can come from anywhere and anyone in the organization.
For Raytheon, there s an innovation center at every major Raytheon s sites to encourage new and
innovative ideas from any employees, any functions, or grade levels.
4.Innovation of the value delivery system
Generally, the delivery system for government contracts is regulated by the Federal Acquisition
Regulations (FAR), which sets forth policies, procedures and requirements for the acquisition of
goods and services by the U.S. government. During the bidding process, innovation of the value
delivery system is difficult to achieve as the defense contract

Argumentative Essay On Child Forced Marriage
Every two minutes a child is married. Approximately 15 million girls are married before they
reach the age of 18. Child marriage is often the end product of a girl s education, economic
prospects, constrained social engagement and increased health risks including physical, emotional
and sexual violence. The subjugation of women and girls takes many forms. One of the most
common, unquestioned, and lasting is the practice of child forced marriage. The practice of Child
forced marriage, is the control of women and girls lives by families and communities, particularly
the control of their sexual and reproductive lives.
Poverty has long been established as the reason for Child forced marriage. But if poverty is to
blame, why are boys not marrying as early as girls? Why are girls the victims of child marriage and
exploitation?
The social and cultural construction of womanhood and the emphasis on female subservience to
male dominance determines if, when and who girls marry, as well as the conditions of marital life
for these unwilling girls and women: including health dangers linked with early pregnancy, lower
educational accomplishments for girls who marry earlier, a higher occurrence of spousal violence,
and an amplified probability of poverty.
Decisions about reproduction are the most important and lie changing an individual can make, and
determine other parts of a person s life, including their living arrangements, their access to
resources, and their roles inside the

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to By Rainie and Hitlin (2005), there is agreement among teens and their parents about the role that the internet plays in teens education. Eighty six percent of teens, and 88% of online teens, believe that the internet helps teenagers to do better in school. Eighty percent of parents and 83% of parents of online teens agreed with that proposition . Wright (n.d) shares that the Internet contains a wealth of knowledge that is available instantly upon any search. Because of this, the Internet has superseded libraries as a source for information gathering and research. Many teachers will now ask students to visit specific websites to study from home, and online encyclopedias provide masses of knowledge on almost every topic imaginable. The variety of sources allows students to pursue subjects in much greater detail rather than being limited to whatever the teacher sends home . It has been discovered through research that 71.7% of the students have access outside of Richter Park and 28.3% do not have access, 40.6% of the students who qualify for free lunch have access to computer technology outside of Richter Park High School as compared to 86.7% access for the students who do not qualify, and 51.7% of ELL students have access to computer technology outside of Richter Park High ... • 3. Egyptian Cuisine During The Arab Republic Of Egypt The unique Egyptian cuisine has been influenced throughout history, particularly by its neighbors from the Middle East. Those contries that have influenced include Persians (modern day Iraqis), Greeks, Romans (modern day Italians), Arabs, and Ottomans (from modern day Turkey) first influenced Egyptian cuisine thousands of years ago. More recently, the foods of other Arabic people in the Middle Eastsuch as the Lebanese, Palestinians, Syrians, as well as some foods from Europe, have affected the Egyptian diet. Rice and bread remain staple foods, and molokhiyya(a spinach like vegetable) and ful mudammas (cooked, creamy fava beans), a national dish. The Arab Republic of Egypt is located in the northeastern region of the African continent, bordering both the Mediterranean and Red Seas. The climate is extremely dry and most of the country receives less than one inch of rainfall each year. The widespread lack of rainfall makes it extremely difficult to grow crops. Egypt has no forests and only 2 percent of the land is arable. The Nile River, the longest river in the world, runs north and south through eastern Egypt and empties into the Mediterranean Sea. Approximately 95 percent of the country s population lives alongside the Nile River. This is why the Egyptian cuisine is so high in fish. Egypt had one of the longest histories of any modern country, arising in the tenth millennium BC as one of the world s first nation states. Ancient Egypt had some of the earliest ... Research Paper On St. Augustine Of Hippo St. Augustine of Hippo, who is a well known saint in the Catholic Church and around the world, is looked up to as a person who has gone through many hardships but in the end found his way to God. Before his conversion to Christianity, Augustine was a man swollen with pride, who sinned for the fun of it. • 6. Troylynn Case Study On Monday July 17th I was approached by TroyLynn Craft about the upcoming entry level interview questions Captain Browne and I had been working on. She began with saying it was her opinion that our questions contained too many follow up questions , and that she thought it would confuse our candidates. I suggested we sit, and read through each of them together to address her concerns. At the onset of our meeting, I read through all the questions and determined we only had three follow up questions, but we adjusted them none the less. TroyLynn had issue with questions number two, three, and eight. One specifically addresses the diverse communities we serve, and our diverse work force (#8). She said, this is not a diverse department, I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... TroyLynn then preceded to look up the word equitably in front of me just as she had the word diversity. It wasn t clear whether she was looking it up to confirm its definition for me or herself. Rather than make an issue over the finite details of the question, I suggested taking out the part she had issue with, and we did. The question now reads: Clackamas fire serves a diverse community; if hired how do you plan to champion that? I asked TroyLynn some qualifying questions after the edits were made. Why don t you think we are a diverse fire department? She replied: The only African Americans we have are not on the line, and the one we had as a volunteer took a job with Portland because he would be more comfortable there . The writer explains that more and more people are becoming addicted to the internet. For example, he tells of a teenager in Ohio, who shot and killed his mom and injured his dad because they took away his Xbox. He tells how it is stated that five to ten percent of the 52 million internetusers were addicted. The author is telling us that the internet has become very addictive in our everyday society. My reaction to what I just read is that I agree with the writer. Beato writes about the growing phenomena of internet addictiondisorder. I think that because technology has made people live so much easier, that it has made people unable to properly act right in real life situations without it. I realize that the writer is trying to inform others about what is going on around them. I believe that the internet has become very addictive in everyday society. I feel that I can identify with what the author is saying. I feel like I can identify because I can t go anytime without getting on my laptop. I basically stay on my ... • 10. Geography In David Foster s Life In this chapter, Foster explains how geography is more than just hills, streams, and grasslands it brings history along with it, and has the ability to shape a character s actions and personality. In addition, he alludes to the Russians; a people whose toughness and tenacity in defending their homeland matched the merciless elements (Foster 173), in order to show how the geography, or place, a person lives in can affect their overall being. Foster claims that geography can also define or even develop character(Foster 175); he says that traveling back to your real home can help you discover your true self, because that is where your loved ones are; that is where you grew up; that is where you know each tree and each stream; and that is... However, he knows why he is really there it is for the terrible murder of his younger brother, William. When unable to enter the town, Victor decides to visit the woods where William was killed. As he approaches the woods, it begins to rain slowly, and as he gets closer the rain becomes more vicious. When he arrives he exclaims, William, dear angel! this is thy funeral, this thy dirge! This place now holds the memory of this forever for Victor, these are the woods where his brother died, and if he is ever to see these woods again, the memory will come rushing back with them. Not only is this his brother s death bed, but it is also where he discovers that his creation is the cause of the terrible tragedy. And what a more fitting place to have this memory? • 11. Similarities Between I Have A Dream And A Raisin In The Sun A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry has many similarities to the Martin Luther King, Jr. I Have a Dream speech. Some similarities in both the speech and the book are that there are promises that are not fulfilled, they are both trying to achieve the American Dream, they both care about the future of their children, and they both have dealt with obstacles in their quest for freedom. In the speech it states ...America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked insufficient funds . (King). King is saying that all of them have had promises made to them that have not been fulfilled and how the Negro population has been lied to by America saying that all are created equal and that anything is possible which is not true to them. This connects to A Raisin in the Sun because in the story the Youngers do not have the same opportunities as white people. Walter has to work as a chauffeur for white people and he has bigger dreams than doing this for a job. This is the only opportunity available to him that enables him to provide for the needs of his family though. This would be possible if people were treated equally. • 12. Marital Expectations In Edna Pontellier s The Awakening The pressures and expectations of society can be truly grueling; at times it may seem there is only one way to escape these pressures. The Awakening follows the transformation of a simple and obedient housewife, Edna, into a self actualized, empowered woman or so it seems. In an epiphany, Edna realizes the only way for her to truly escape the oppression she feels from society and her husband, is to commit suicide. At the beginning of the novel Edna is afraid of water, at the end, it is her escape. Edna realizes that her biggest fear of overcoming society s expectations is inescapable and these expectations literally and metaphorically drown her. However, it is unclear if Edna actually made this choice made for herself or if society chose it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Edna s life completely lacked passion: passion for her husband, passion to be a mother, or even passion towards her art. Edna lacks the internal motherly instincts expected of a woman, She was fond of her children in an uneven, impulsive way. She would sometimes gather them passionately to her heart; she would sometimes forget them. The year before they had spent part of the summer with their grandmother Pontellier in Iberville. Feeling secure regarding their happiness and welfare, she did not miss them except with an occasional intense longing. Their absence was a sort of relief, though she did not admit this, even to herself. It seemed to free her of a responsibility which she had blindly assumed and for which Fate had not fitted her (Chopin 18). Edna refuses to become the property of her husband even though obedience was expected, You have been a very, very foolish boy, wasting your time dreaming of impossible things when you speak of Mr. Pontellier setting me free! I am no longer one of Mr. Pontellier s possessions to dispose of or not. I give myself where I choose. If he were to say, Here, Robert, take her and be happy; she is yours, I should laugh at you both (Chopin 108). This is ironic because at this time according to Louisiana law, women were, in fact, their husband s property. Edna s husband tried to control Edna s choices and behavior. The oppression Edna feels from her marriage is symbolically represented through the parrot at the beginning of the novel. The parrot is caged, showing Edna s imprisonment in her own marriage. The parrot also shrieks and curses at Mr. Pontellier after he scolds Edna, showing what Edna wishes she had the power to do, retaliate (Chopin 1). This symbolic representation is present throughout the novel in showing Edna s imprisonment in her own life. The bird s shrieking shows how Edna wishes she could stand up for ... • 15. Automobile Pollution Essay Automobiles Consuming Fossil Fuels and Pollution in America Why do Americans buy so many products knowing they are causing pollution? That may be because they enjoy shopping. Every product causes some sort of pollution. For instance, automobiles cause a great amount of pollution. The sad part is that the mass production of automobiles has been growing larger every year, ever since the Model T Fords came out. Between 1908 and 1927, Ford produced about 15 million Model T cars, which is on average 790 thousand cars produced every year. Today, the company sells about 2.5 million automobiles annually. In other words, Ford produces over 3 times as many automobiles today. Over production and consumption of automobiles induces the consumption of fossil fuels. Consuming gasoline to run cars was the idea of over a century ago. With the quantity of the production of cars today, it is not efficient to use the same old method to run cars. Water and oxygen are most vital for humans. If we pollute all of the water and air in the world, extinction will be our only option. Americans should eliminate the excessive consumption of automobiles because it leads to overconsumption of fossil fuels, which causes pollution. Three common types of pollution are air pollution, water pollution, and noise pollution. In the past century, cars and trucks have turned from objects of desire into a person s basic needs. After factories, automobiles are the biggest air polluters of America. Air pollution is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. The Importance Of Building A Monument Although building a statue or memorial seems simple you think of something you want to build or memorialize, you choose a location, you design it, and then of course, you build it. However, the actual process proves to be more controversial and painstaking. The difficulties when it comes to building a statue or monument should arise prior to building the actual monument. The most critical stages of development are throughout the design and planning process. This is due to the many factors that have to go into consideration when designing a monument the overall purpose of the monument, the design of the monument, and choosing the right location and position of the monument all while considering ways to strengthen the aura and draw in more visitors. The main purpose of a monument is by far the factor that should receive the utmost consideration and development. This is because the other stages of development and design revolve around the purpose of the monument. Before you can decide what a monument will look like, you must know what you want to accomplish with the monument along with the feelings you wish to inspire in visitors. For example, if you wanted to portray a soldier s courage and strength through a statue, you may not want to build a 5 foot tall, flimsy aluminum statue of a smiling soldier with open arms, ready to embrace a hug. The significance of a monumental purpose was highlighted in Christine Musser s Preserving Memory: National Holocaust Memorial Museum ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Popular opinion would lead us to believe that broadcasters now seek to exploit the youngest members of their audience turning them into life long viewers (and consumers). They will treat people who are not the same as them as they are garbage and worthless. Although it is not their fault to simply put it, it is human nature. More specifically the ugliness of human nature. The complex characters in Wuthering Heightsare guilty of this. Their circumstances drive them to do unthinkable things which unfortunately have drastic outcomes. Emily Bronte s Wuthering Heights is a beautifully written novel that shows the ugliness of human nature as seen through the depiction of toxic relationships, displaying revenge and vengeance in the differentiation of social class. The ugliness of human nature is undoubtedly shown through toxic relationships in Wuthering Heights. They toxicity can be shown through almost every character relationship. This failure to study the battles of the war in a timely manner resulted in the development of inferior doctrine and training concepts. If the lessons would have been learned earlier than 1932, substantial changes could have been made to the British doctrine and professional military education system prior to 1932. The structural, leadership and cultural changes to the British Army after World War I contributed to a pervasive disinterest in innovation. Perturbation of O GlcNAcylation through Thiamet G, an OGA inhibitor, was assessed using a well established VSV G eGFP reporter assay Citations. The trafficking of a temperature sensitive VSV G eGFP mutant that is transported by COPII from the ER to the Golgi at the permissive temperature can be evaluated by the development of characteristic juxanuclear punctate fluorescence (Golgi) from diffuse/reticular fluorescence (ER) over time. The Pros And Cons Of Federalists And Republicans After Washington s historic term as president, he warned in his farewell address to the American citizens against political parties and foreign affairs and encouraged them to unify as one republic. Despite Washington s advice to the nation, political parties and foreign affairs were yet established that divided the nation into two opposing factions: Federalists and Republicans. The Federalists, led mainly by Alexander Hamilton, were the citizens who favored the Constitution. Anti Federalists, on the other hand, were the citizens who opposed the ratification of the Constitution and sided with Jefferson to form the Democratic Republican Party. While Federalists envisioned America with a strong, complex, and centralized government, Republicans wanted America to remain a small federal government where states and local governments held the majority of the power. Many of the Federalist plans were centered around the idea of a strong, centralized government that was effective and organized in the way it ran. Those who were Federalists, generally, were people of professions and advocates of commercial interest. Alexander Hamilton, who led the Federalist Party, wanted to pay off the national debt by establishing a national bank, restoring trade with Britain, and encouraging American manufacturing through government tariffs in order to improve the economy after the American Revolution. Narrated through parallel story lines; the process of creating Facebook and the resulting lawsuits between Zuckerberg and Saverin and the Winklevoss Twins and Diva Nirendera. Each citizen, regardless of his or her category, had certain political rights and privileges. This is due to the fact that these societies lacked autonomy because of the water problem and had magical barriers (Citizenshipand Orientalism Lecture, February 9). Water and irrigation problems were linked to discrepancies in the cultural change of certain societies. As a result, kingdoms basically rose because of water and irrigation systems. In Asia, the ruler used military monopoly to establish his power. The second reason is that the orient was associated with ideas and institutions related to magic, according to Weber. B2B vs. B2C Supply Chain The B2B and B2C supply chains might appear to be similar however, that assumption can not be further from the truth. The main difference between the two is the amount of channels a product must flow through before reaching the end user. Dengue has four antigenically different virus stereotypes (DENV 1 4), (though there was a report in 2013 that identified a fifth stereotype) (Guzman Harris, 2015) (Dengue, 2016) (Normile, 2013). It is estimated that there are 50 million new cases of dengue fevereach year worldwide. A portion of these cases can develop into sever infections, namely dengue hemorrhagic feverand dengue shock syndrome, these sever infections are also associated with increased mortality rates. Approximately 12,000 deaths each year are contributed to dengue, and of these deaths the victims are mainly children (Bouzid et. al. 2014). The World Health Organization (WHO) defines global climatechange as a large scale change in climate patterns over the years, which includes changes in rainfall and temperature related greenhouse effects, where radiation gets trapped beneath the atmosphere. The average global temperature is predicted to rise 2.0 4.5ЛљC by the year 2100, which would have significant impact on vector borne diseases. The temperature range for dengue is between 14 В°C and 40 В°C. With a 2 В°C increase in temperature the extrinsic incubation period of dengue will be shortened and more infected mosquitoes will be available for a longer period of time. Apart from being considered as one of the most influential and significant composers of the Western classical music, he was also known as one of the three composers part of First Viennese School composers, which also included Mozart and Beethoven. He composed The PianoSonata in E flat major, Hob. XVI:49, and dedicated it to Mrs. Maria Anna Edle von Genzinger. This piece is rather representative of works written in his late period since it is one of his last piano sonatas. Composed for the fortepiano, this piece can be described as incorporating the Viennese keyboard style, as well as, many other musical ideas gathered by Hadyn in England. The sonata is divided into 3 movements: Allegro, Adagio e cantabile and Finale: Tempo di Minuet. He opened his first movement with a theme in a question and answer style that evokes a dialogue. In this movement, the sense of humour and seriousness expressed at the same time, makes the contrast more distinct. It also reflects the introspection and determination. The second movement is in the ternary form (ABA) and it has a singing style. It is in B flat major with highly decorated thematic material, and the lyrical phrasing makes the piece tranquil and peaceful. The theme is repeated in a more expressive manner and as it progresses to the middle of the movement, it becomes contrasting.
