Woman´s Right on Abortions
Personal Choices Women s reproductive rights have been endangered from early history. A woman s
job included housework and child birth. Around 1920, women started receiving their choices and
rights. In the 21st century, women are looked at with fairness and receive equal opportunities, but
there is one right being stripped from women: the choice of using birth control and aborting
pregnancy. Society frowns upon aborting a fetus in the womb, but it fails to realize the circumstantial
standing each woman is placed in and should accept the decision a woman decides for her future
whether it is to use birth control or abort her pregnancy. Women today may have more choices but it
has not always been this way. Women of the past often didn t get much a choice about their sexuality
(Bringle). However by 1950s, a pill to prevent pregnancy was created. Though this contraception was
created, it was hard to get. A birth control advocate, Margaret Sanger, attacked legislative restrictions
on birth control , informed many women the uses and positive aspects of using contraception, and
encouraged doctors to give contraception guidance by opening the first birth control clinic in New
York in 1916 (Bringle). Even after the widespread information of birth control, the accessibility of it
today is low. This pill is a necessity for women in today s world and should be made more accessible.
To use contraception, a doctor has to prescribe it and this prescription is rarely covered by

The Abiding Presence Of God In The Gospel Of Matthew
The Gospel of Matthew is an ancient biography. It discusses the generation of Jesus, worshipping his
life and referring to his teachings as the good news. This Gospel summons readers to seek God s
Kingdom, to follow Jesus so that they can experience wonderful things, and to act on His words,
understand them and teach others like He taught us. The Gospel of Matthew consists of eight themes:
The Abiding Presence of God, Jesus as the Son of God, The Teaching of Jesus, Discipleship,
Interpretation and Scripture, Binding and Loosing, Worship and Doubt, Faith and Understanding, and
Hostility Towards Jewish Leaders. God is omnipresent, meaning that he is in attendance everywhere at
the same time. Matthew s Gospel exhibits interest in the ways that God is present on Earth. The
Gospel of Matthew answers the question, Where is God? , usually asked by many struggling believers
or by those who are generally curious. The answer that Matthew provides is divided into three
presentations. The first being that God is present in Jesus, meaning that when Jesus was brought into
this world, He had opened up a passage so that God can fully enter our world and actually be with us .
In fact, the main point of this theme is that Matthew accepts those who worship Jesus and deems it
appropriate because, in a sense, worshiping Jesus counts as worshiping God, who is present in Jesus.
This point was proposed for the people who lived before Jesus crucifixion. However, after Easter, the
question then

The Tragedy Of The Titanic Disaster
On the night of April 14, 1912 the world was struck with disaster as the RMS Titanic collided with an
iceberg and sunk into the sea. Only 31.6% survived the disaster. In order to understand what factors
lead to the highest chances of survival, this project uses a Titanic passenger database and decision
trees in order to classify survivors into two groups, survived and perished. Then using this
information, rank the most important factors regarding the likelihood of survival. From our
experiments we found that the most important factor in surviving the Titanic disaster was title and that
a decision tree that created around that variable as its highest level decision had a correct classification
rate of 79.425%

Additionally, the database also provides the class that the passenger was in, their ticket number, their
cabin number, ticket price, and where they embarked. From this information, we hope to understand
what factors played and role in survival and which were the most important.
The rest of this paper proceeds as follows: In section 2, this paper discusses the creation of a decision
tree. Section 3 describes to experimentation on the Titanic dataset. Section 4 gives the results of the
comparison and the conclusions from the project.
2 Creating a Decision Tree
We decided that the best to answer these questions would be to create a decision tree in order to
classify which passengers into two categories survived and perished. By creating a decision tree that
was able to classify most of the passengers statuses correctly, we know which of the factors were the
most important due to the fact that the most important factors would be located at the top of the tree.
The factors located on lower levels of the tree are less important, due to the fact that they are the
deciding factor for survival for a smaller group of people.
To create a decision tree, we begin by cleaning the data that we receive from the database. First, we
remove the names of the passengers, due to the fact that we can more easily refer to them by their
passenger ids. We also remove the information connected to cabin number, due

Analyse The Importance Of Communication In Groups
In group one, the main component that seems to be working the best for everyone is our
communication method. We developed a group message, primarily because texting is easily accessible
for all four of us and definitely a common form of communication we are all used to. Moreover,
Google Docs is also working well, I will share documents and open access for everyone to edit. This
seems to work efficiently because we are all extremely busy and can work on the documents on our
own time or at the scheduled meeting time. Moreover, everyone in the member has open access to
every document and can express their own thoughts regarding the writing. So far in our group there
has not been a significant problem which has emerged. Thus far, everyone has completed

I Admire The Little Rock Nine Analysis
I admire the Little Rock nine because of them standing for what they believe in and refused to let
white people to control their future. After the Little Rock nine felt the courts had approved for
segregation. The nine students had to endure prejudice going to school while attending school and
after school. However eight of the nine students were determined to not allow the white citizen in
Arkansas to control their rights. Elizabeth was a brave to stand alone for what she believes in. Her
obtaining her education was important to her and the other eight students. All nine of these students
were straight A students and was used to dealing with discrimination living in the South. Looking at
the socialization chart the white kids was thought don t

Asian Culture and Healthcare
I have found the Asian culture on heal care to be very interesting. It is not just about too many white
body blood cells in your blood stream. It is more about balance. They believe the mind and body
working together, in harmony and a balanced state. They use a practice called Ying and yang which is
hot and cold. The use of natural plants for treatment of illness is common practice in Asian culture.
Good nutrition plays a big part is their health. A diet mostly fish and vegetables is the healthy choice
in their culture. Some of the practices for therapy include acupuncture, and coin rolling. The belief
that anything is excess is bad and is one of the ways the Asian culture remain balanced and healthy.
Acupuncture focuses on points on the body to activate natural healing and to balance the body. The
practice of acupuncture covers 306 fixed points of the body. The practitioner uses nine needles placed
in specific point on the body to release yin (cold) or yang (heat) and create a balance between the two.
The treatment can range from cancer, arthritis, or the common cold but, is mainly used for treatment
of pain relief. There is also qi and chi which is the flow of energy throughout the body which is
something like yin and yang it is all about a balance in the body for healing and good health. Too
much on one will create an unbalance in the energy flow in the body and will require treatment of the
use of yin and yang principles.

Cervix Research Paper
Health screening Cervix
Dr Aisha Bhaiyat
In countries such as Canada and the UK, women are routinely invited to have cervical screening. The
aim of these screening programs is to prevent cervical cancer. Such screening programs do not exist in
Kuwait. However, cervical screening is available. So why do I recommend that all women over the
age of 20 should consider having cervical screening?
Cervical cancer is a disease that mainly affects women in their 30 s and 40 s. Occasionally, it can
affect those that are older or younger. Most importantly, this is a cancer that is preventable. Unlike
many other cancer screenings, cervical screening looks for changes in the cells that may lead to cancer
and not for the actual cancer itself. Cervical cancer is one of very few cancers that can be detected and
stopped before it even begins. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A hole, known as the cervical canal, passes through the cervix. This allows menstrual flow out and
sperm into, the uterus. This can also open very wide during birth. The cervix is coated in a skin like
covering, whose cells are collected using a small plastic brush during a cervical smear test. These cells
are then looked at under a microscope for early changes that may lead to cervical cancer if ignored or
left untreated. An abnormal test does not mean that there is cancer of the cervix; it in fact means that
through treatment, cancer of the cervix can be prevented from occurring. Some women can find
cervical screening to be uncomfortable, but it shouldn t be

Theoretical Framework of the Study
As seen in the previous literature, much of the empirical research in the last twenty years has focused
on documenting the positive student outcomes associated with service learning. Despite this focus,
only few studies have also explored the role individual characteristics play in participation in such
outcomes. Susan Jones (2002), for example, finds that the student s ability to actively participate in all
aspects of her/his service learning experience depends on the intersection of the student s own
background. . . , developmental readiness for such a learning experience, and the privileging
conditions that put a college student in a community service organization as a volunteer in the first
place (p. 13). Accordingly, different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In her conceptualization of student resistance to service learning through the critical developmental
lens, Jones also considers the critical whiteness theory. Frankenberg (1993) describes Whiteness as
multidimensional: First, whiteness is a location of structural advantage, of race privilege. Second, it is
a standpoint and place from which white people look at ourselves, at others, and at society. Third,
whiteness refers to a set of cultural practices that are usually unmarked and unnamed (p. 1). Although
whiteness has intangible systems of oppression, inequality, and unearned advantage that are not
necessary seen, heard, or felt; they reproduce and support the idea that being white is the ideal racial
identity. Butin (2005) examines the dynamics of whiteness and the extent to which student resistance
is conceptualized as occurring due to dominant students rejection of the exposure and analysis of these
same hidden and/or explicit social, cultural, and academic structures and practices of the school that
privilege and sustains white, middle class norms (p. 117). As such, addressing the dynamics of social
inequalities through readings, classroom discussions, and community service visits may confront
students with their conditions of privilege, as well as with new epistemologies that do not necessarily
resonate with students previous knowledge of the world. These

The Forgotten Dead By William D. Carrigan And Clive Webb
Forgotten Dead by authors William D. Carrigan and Clive Webb, delivered a collective narration of
the numerous lynching crimes against Mexican people in the southern west states of the United States.
Their purpose was to describe that extend of mob violations against the minority groups of people in
the United States. By, arguing how many of these racial crimes were prejudice to eliminate the
potential competition for territory, and gold mines economy that were potentially able to provide the
envy position that Anglo people were afraid to loose. They wanted to figure out, who these forgotten
dead Mexicans were at the time, and what types of crimes they committed to face such cruelty death
in the hands of the mob Anglo groups. They uncovered the grand extend of violent scenes that Anglo
vigilantes members of mob groups organized the banishment of many Mexican in what they had
considered part of their territory at the time. They were Anglo racial mobs that created freighted
violence of lynching, decapitation, gun downs, mutilation, burnings, and many more crimes that not
only were committed to Mexican but other minority groups residing in former Mexican territories.
Perhaps Mexican population was not the only target to these mob lynching groups, they demonstrated
how many African Americans, Chileans, and Chinese also were brutally killed, but the evidence given
still portray the big difference of hate against these other races. The authors also explained well the

Essay about Matching Dell
MATCHING DELL CASE ANALYSIS
This analysis describes the case of computer and peripherals industry especially the successful
management of Dell Computer Corporation which grew twice as fast as its major rivals like Compaq,
Gateway, Hewlett Packard and IBM. The main reason for the success of Dell was their Direct Model
of selling computers which eliminated all traditional channels like distributors, resellers and retailers.
Traditionally all its competitors like IBM, HP, and Compaq etc. used reseller, retailers and distributors
to sell their computers to end users. IBM was the first company to launch its PC in 1981 and soon held
42% of the market. But the growth of IBM proved to be short ... Show more content on

Another important aspect of the logistics strategy adopted by Dell was that suppliers were encouraged
to locate warehouses and production facilities close to its assembly operations to ensure smooth flow
of materials across the value chain. This ensured that its value chain was capable enough to handle the
largest of orders in smallest possible time frame. Through this value chain the company was able to
introduce a wide range of products. All the above stated resources and capabilities decreased operating
costs with enhanced customer service and thus helped maintain substantial profit margins through
relatively low inventory and capital expenditures in comparison to the revenues. Thus if we talk in
terms of the strategy triangle we can say that Dell had the resources and capabilities such as highly
integrated sales forces, efficient supplier relations, a able leadership in Michael Dell, cross functional
excellence and outstanding corporate culture, which eventually led the company to achieve its core
strategy of direct distribution and selling and hence maintain a relatively high growth rate. I would
also like to mention that to improve its systems and processes, Dell hired management experience
from other companies like Motorola, Apple computer and Intel who focused especially on operations
and manufacturing and thus focused on return on invested

other Pacific and Asian targets. For a time Japan was master of the central and western Pacific and

Surprise Attack on Pearl Harbour In late 1941 more than 75 U.S. warships including battleships,
cruisers, destroyers, submarines, and auxiliaries were based at this Gibraltar of the Pacific. All U.S.
aircraft carriers were elsewhere. On November 26 a Japanese task force, consisting of 6 carriers, 2
battleships, 3 cruisers, and several destroyers and tankers under command of Vice Adm. Chuichi
Nagumo, departed in secret from the Kuril Islands. Observing radio silence, it reached a launching
point at 6 AM, December 7. At 7:50 AM, the first wave of Japanese planes struck Pearl Harbour,
bombarding airfields and battleships moored at the concrete quays. A second wave followed. The
surprise attack was over before 10 AM. The results were devastating; 18 U.S. ships were hit, and more
than 200 aircraft destroyed or damaged. The battleship Arizona was a total wreck; the West Virginia
and California were sunk; and the Nevada was heavily damaged. Approximately 2,400 Americans
were killed, 1,300 wounded, and 1,000 missing. Japanese losses were fewer than 100 casualties, 29
planes, and 5 midget submarines. The Japanese scored a brilliant tactical victory, apparently crippling
U.S. naval power in the Pacific. The attack was, however, a colossal political and psychological
blunder, for it mobilised U.S. public opinion against the Japanese and served as the catalyst that
brought the United States into the war. December 7, 1941, said President Franklin D.

Derivative Is A Complex Subject Of Calculus
Derivative is a complex subject of calculus. In calculus, derivative is a key term developed by both
Newton and Leibniz. With function f (t), the first derivative is defined asf^ (t)= df/dt= lim┬(h→0)⁡
〖(f(t) f(t h))/h〗. There is also a second derivative known as second order derivative. The second
order derivative is defined: f^ (t)= (d^2 f)/(dt^2 )= lim┬(h→0)⁡
〖(f^ (t) f^ (t h))/h〗

〖1/h {(f(t) f(t h))/h (f(t h) f(t 2h))/h}〗
=lim┬(h→0)⁡
〖(f(t) 2f(t h)+f(t 2h))/h^2 〗
(Podlubny, 1998). The general idea of derivative has been for several times as the topic has been

However, early mathematicians solved these questions with what later became known as derivative.
Derivative has developed or created the ideas of extrema, tangent, and limit (Anderson, Katz, and
Wilson, 2004). Derivative contributed towards the mathematical world from an early stage to the
development of other rules. Derivative was mentioned early in the 1660 s to develop new methods and
rules. Many of the methods known today and that have been developed over the years all derived
because of the use of derivative. Derivative supports the evidence of many proofs such as extreme,
tangent, and limit. Newton and Leibniz both saw derivative in a different way. Newton and Leibniz
both created calculus separately, as in Newton and Leibniz were not working together for the creation
of calculus. They both created or invented calculus by the development of derivative. For example, in
the first step of creating calculus, Newton and Leibniz took the idea and concepts of derivative and
integral. The general concepts of derivative and integral came from the methods for finding tangents,
extrema, and area. The general concept of derivative and integral came from the methods of finding
other solutions. Another invention they came across while inventing calculus was the notation to solve
the concepts of derivative and

Controversial Views in Kate Chopin s The Awakening Essay
The Controversial Views in Kate Chopin s The Awakening Kate Chopin s The Awakening is truly a
novel that stands out from the rest. From the moment it was published, it has been caused women to
examine their beliefs. The fact that The Awakening was shunned when first published, yet now taught
in classrooms across the country is proof that The Awakening is full of rebellious and controversial
ideas. One of the main themes explored in The Awakening is that of a woman s place in society. In
that time period, a woman was considered in some ways to be property of a man (Mahin 2). This is
shown repeatedly in The Awakening, through the many relationships between the characters. As with
many ideas throughout the book, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edna s unconventional ideas about her place in the society that she lived in is proof of the rebellious
nature of The Awakening. There are many other areas of Edna s story while illustrate the rebellious
ideas that she represents. For example, her view of religion is very controversial for that time period.
Throughout the story, we can see that Edna had no tolerance for the religious practices that were held
so dear to the rest of society (Klein 3). It is not surprising that Edna refuses to worship any higher
power, since we have also seen that she refuses to hold even her family to any higher regard (Klein 4).
Additionally, Edna s attitude towards art builds on the unconventional themes of the story (Klein 6).
Edna is told by Mademoiselle Reisz that o be an artist... you must possess the courageous soul... the
brave soul. The soul that dares and defies (Chopin 115). This seems indicative of the very soul that
Edna strives to possess in the story. Her quest to become an artist seems tied to her quest to break from
the conventions of society because of this definition. Edna s reverence for art and the values that it
seems to be connected with make her personality even more unconventional in the terms of the society
that she lived in. Even more importantly, it was Edna s own

Drug Addiction
A drug addiction is an ongoing need to use drugs. It is also called substance dependence, because the
person may depend on drugs to continue functioning normally. Like any addiction, it involves a

A person usually become addicted to specific kinds of drugs, the use of which may or may not be

William Paley And David Hume
Intelligent by Design
Written by Alexander Staggs Vargas One of the most prominent philosophical arguments that remains
today is the debate on the existence of God or an Intelligent Designer. This debate dates back a time of
many Gods and deities during the era of Socrates, Plato and their students, including Aristotle. This
discussion will focus on the differing works of authors William Paley and David Hume and I will
argue that there is an Intelligent Designer for our universe. William Paley believes in the existence of
God and that through his watchmaker analogy in Natural Theology he can prove that there is an
Intelligent Designer. David Hume addresses William Paley s argument in Dialogues Concerning
Natural Religion and argues Paley s analogy is weak since Hume believes we cannot analogize earthly
things from things we cannot understand. In this paper, I will address these teleological arguments. To
begin, we need to understand Paley s teleological argument that we are products of an Intelligent
Designer. He argues that: 1) Human artifacts are products of intelligent design and we have a purpose;
2) The universe resembles these human artifacts; 3) Due to the similarities, it is probable that the
universe is also a product of intelligent design; 4) However, the universe is vastly more complex and
gigantic than a human artifact; and, 5) Therefore, it is most logical that a powerful and vastly
intelligent designer created the universe. Paley s teleological

German Aggression Dbq Essay
It is heavily debated that the display of German aggression inevitably contributed to the outbreak of
general European tensions, and war in 1914. The use of strategies such as the Anglo German Naval
Race, as stated in Joll s source, highlighted the aggression by Germany prior to war. Moreover, this
type of tactic also demonstrated the desire and hunger Germany obtained for continental power,
another factor towards European tensions. The sources in question both support and contest the set
statement, to an extent. Sources 1 and 3 by Corrigan and Joll, respectively, argue how Germany s use
of tactics agitated European powers, thus causing war. However, Source 2 by Turner disagrees with
the statement, arguing how other European powers were to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Joll contrasts with Turner, arguing how the German strategy of aggression via the arms race led to
general war; Arms race, in which all major powers were involved contributed to the sense that war
was bound to come, sooner rather than later . The quote implies that the use of the Arms Race was a
major factor towards the inevitable war, also highlighting the aggression of Germany. Additonally, the
source indicates the turbulent effect of the arms race on the nation; it caused serious financial
difficulties for all governments involved . This demonstrates the severe impact of German aggression
and how it had some severe flaws, despite hoping that the race would make for peace rather than war .
A prime example of the consequences of German aggression was the July Crisis in 1914. The crisis
led to severe consequences between Germany and other nations. The unconditional support by
Germany for Austria Hungary aka blank cheque led to an increase in the chances of armed conflict
and higher chances of war occurring. Overall, this is evident that Germany s involvement in other
nations conflict only spurred the chances of war. In support of Joll, Corrigan and Fischer also
highlight how German aggression was creating war. Moreover, the historians also concluded how
Germany were adamant that the war would create two things in German favour power via annexation
and armament. However, Joll highlights the

The Factors Influencing The Adoption Of The United States
In your own words, describe some of the factors that contributed to the adoption of the .05 level of
statistical significance (see Kazdin, Chapter 16). One factor was Fisher referring to it in his 1925
book. Cowels and Davis (2016) stated that this may have been the first time the .05 level was referred
to as statistical significance. Therefore, this may have been the most important contribution for the
universal adoption of the .05 level, specifically. That being said, there were multiple contributions by
previous researchers who also deserve credit for the evolution of statistical significance at the .05
level. Therefore, Fisher cannot be credited as the sole inventor of this concept. He can be credited as
the first individual who recorded the .05 level and starting a trend that is universally practiced today.
Another factor was the development of the law of frequency errors. In the 17th century, Huygens
published work about reasoning strategies for dice games and other games of chance. A subsequent
publication from De Moivre was published into three editions during the 18th century. De Moivre s
works were said to be highly influential to the scientific field since it generated the bell shaped curve
(Cowels Davis, 2016). Soon thereafter, Laplace and Gauss applied distribution principles, previously
used for gambling, to the scientific field. The development of the law of frequency errors and then the
transfer to the scientific field can be credited, then, as a

Through my present and previous positions with the federal government, I accumulate many years of
experience in developing and writing official and internal documents for different purposes such as
correspondences, reports or memorandum. To illustrate this experience, I am providing the following
example:
In my previous position as Senior Advisor with the Commissioner of Lobbying, I wrote briefing notes
and reports on a frequent basis. An important element of my job was to provide documentation to the
director and senior management about outreach activities I was delivering to stakeholders. The
purpose of writing briefing notes was to summarize the objectives of every outreach sessions and to
inform them about specific follow ups to stakeholders requests. The first step was to compile the
results of the research I have initiated on the stakeholders and their business area, by adding short
paragraphs to keep a concise writing style. After finishing the writing part, I reviewed the document to
ensure that all aspects are covered and that every key point previously discussed were detailed.
Finally, I made sure to avoid grammatically or vocabulary errors in the finalized document and also to
avoid the use of ambiguous words or expression that might lead to confusion or misinterpretation. To

Theme Of Light In Pablo Neruda
The Use of Light in Pablo Neruda s The Light Wraps You (II), In My Sky at Twilight (XVI) and
Thinking, Tangling Shadows (XVII):
Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair
For the most part, life revolves around light. Certain tasks are done in the light, while others are not.
Light comes in many forms, as seen through Pablo Neruda s Twenty Love Poems and a Song of
Despair. Throughout the poetry collection, Neruda uses light imagery to portray the themes of love,
happiness, sadness, heartache, hopelessness, darkness, destruction, negativity, and life which can
compel the reader to ponder over the poetry. Neruda creates light images to portray the themes
through references of lamps, twilight/night, shadows and fire in the poems The Light Wraps You (II),
In My Sky at Twilight (XVI) and Thinking, Tangling Shadows (XVII).
Lamps are used in Neruda s poems to symbolize life, as well as light. Neruda writes in poem XVII,
burying lamps, (4) and burying lamps in the deep solitude (30) which can be an allusion to the Pagan
tradition of burying most often unlit lamps with the deceased to provide a light in the next world after
death (Wikipedia, 2017). However, this can also refer to the idea of burying light creating darkness or
hope. The themes of life and sadness are presented in the two poems which help the reader understand
the themes. Another example of lamps being used to create light imagery is in poem XVI on line 5:

The Effect Of Breastfeeding On Ovarian And Breast Cancer...
Introduction
Since some years, there has been fundamental shift in infant nutrition research due to increasing
evidence that the role of early nutrition during this vital period of life has deep biological effects and
has an important consequence both in long and short term health (Fewtrell 2007).
The research that has been done in this area offers strong evidence that human milk feeding decreases
the severity and incidence of a vast range of infectious diseases (Garner 1997). There are many
benefits of breastfeeding reduces the ovarian and breast cancer risks and a reduction in other types of
systemic health such as obesity, overweight, asthma and morbidity. In this way breastfeeding also
becomes one of the main causes of benefits for the mothers (Horta 2013).
In their report, WHO also recommends the exclusive breastfeeding until the infant is six months old.
They further, recommend that the children should consume breastfeeding complemented with food
intake until they are two years old (Horta 2013).
Formula fed vs. Breastfed
The evidence that is present regarding the infant feeding as a risk factor for dental caries in
inconsistent in many ways. The risk regarding dental caries is closely related to carbohydrate content
in breast milk besides the factors that decide the length of contact between the erupted dentition and
the breast milk (Danielsson 2009).
In contrast to formula, breast milk contains breast specific Lactobacilli and other substances that

Slang And Its Effect On Everyday Life Essay
The use of slang in my life today is very evident. My roommates and I always talk slang during the
day and the night. I don t use slang very much in text messages or emails partly because I don t feel
the need and I am normally emailing professors and staff members who expect me to respect them by
writing with proper English. Most of the time my roommates and I use slang when we are just
messing or playing around. Therefore, the use of slang in my classroom will be mainly for educational
purposes and limited because of the focus on standard English and the negative view it may put upon
the child. There is no doubt that people use slang almost every day. These people might be just using it
for fun and mocking others, while some may use it to protest the use of standard English. The book,
How English Works, by Curzan and Adams talks about how slang is used in everyday life and thrives
in places that involve pop music, athletics, narcotics, and other various factors (Curzan and Adams,
2012). I feel that Curzan and Adams are right on point when they say slang thrives on these main
ideas. For example, my roommates listen to music that has slang involved in it. My roommates and I
normally sing to some of the songs while they are playing or even after they are done playing and use
slang without consciously knowing because it is in a song. Normally these songs get stuck in our
heads and we end up singing the lyrics out loud using slang almost every day. Most of the songs that

Tow Truck Research Paper
A tow truck is a special emergency vehicle designed to tow or pull disabled vehicles out of the
roadway to a safer location. It is also commonly used to confiscate illegally parked vehicles. Most tow
trucks are based on a medium truck or heavy duty pickup chassis.
There are three main types of tow trucks in use today: hook and chain, axle cradling, and flatbed. The
hook and chain is the oldest type of tow truck; it uses chains around the towed vehicle. The axle
cradling type features a large metal yoke that is fitted under the front wheels; a hydraulic hoist then
lifts the front end of the vehicle so it can be towed. The flatbed type of tow truck has a bed at the back
of the truck that can be hydraulically moved to ground level. This then

Do You Agree with Conflict Theory
Have you ever noticed a divide in society between the privileged and who s who are not? Such as
someone who is rich versus someone who is poor. This is what we call Conflict theory. How conflict
theory is applied to our everyday lives can be seen through many different ideas brought about by
these conflict theorists. Whether or not I agree or disagree with this theory, will be determined by the
factors and situations that conflict theory has to show. Karl Marx, a philosopher, journalist, and
revolutionary socialist, is considered the father of conflict theory. He pointed out the continuous
competition for power between different classes in society and how the powerful groups exploit those

their influence in the making of social decisions, and their ability to impose values, will also be greater
than those of the lower classes (McShane, Williams 129 130). If you are on the bottom and you don t
like something that is going on with people in power, you could have a revolution or stage a riot.
Anytime you are dealing with the situation where people are fighting over the use of land or who s
going to have what status or privilege, we are then seeing things through the eyes of a conflict theorist.
Money is a big part of this. Being a member of an aristocracy or a powerful group is part of this. So in
addition, we also see minority groups in conflict with the dominant groups. We see exploitation and
domestic violence between men and women and sometimes children. There are numerous perspectives
of conflict theory on the law. Most of the conflict theorists talk about the law as a way of maintain
inequality. That the law is there to advance the interests of people in power, usually people with
money. There are also conflict theories that argue about morality or moral entrepreneurs, people that
use the criminal law to impose their morality on other people despite the fact that it is not widely held
belief and an example would be things like prostitution or other vices that are widely utilized by large

The Factory became a center for pop and would be pop stars. It attracted a wide variety of glamorous
people and an assortment of characters in the art and performing worlds. Although many of Warhol s
films, such as Sleep (1963), Eat (1963), and Empire (1965), were lengthy depictions of the most
mundane activity or object, some of his works anticipated future film themes or ridiculed certain
subjects. Lonesome Cowboys (1968) treated homosexuality when it was taboo as a subject for
commercial films and, at the same time, challenged the cowboy myth of courageous, macho riders of
the range. With such works as Flesh (1968) and Trash (1970), Warhol focused on sexual themes.

And Morton became lord of misrule, and maintained (as it were) a school of Atheism (127).
Everything that the Puritans stood for, Morton was boldly going against. But the following events that
Morton orchestrated are what really pushed the Puritans over the edge. Firstly, Morton erected a
Maypole for a May Day celebration. This Maypole was in the words of Morton, a lamentable
spectacle to the precise Separatists that lived at New Plymouth. They termed it an idol; yea, they
called it the Calf of Horeb and stood at defiance with the place (141). However, Morton made no
apologies and his group gathered around the pole to drink and sing songs that included lyrics such as,
Drink and be merry, merry, merry boys; /...To cure the heart oppressed with grief, / And of good
liquors is the chief. /Then drink (141). In Morton s writing it is clear that he just wanted to have a
good time.
While the Maypole incident was offensive to the Puritans, Morton s next offense was outright
condemnable. As Bradford described,

to sexual offending, including treatment, supervision, and management practices for this population.
There is a long history of rape and rape culture. Over the years history has changed the definition of

definition of rape is nonconsensual sexual intercourse that is committed by physical force, threat of

Comparison Of An Hour And A Pair Of Silk Stockings
Both A Pair of Silk Stockings and The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, were written from a third

There is one similarity that sticks out, both protagonists are selfish. There is really strong symbolism

Protocols For The Communication Protocol
IPV 6
ABSTRACT:
We have many protocols for the communication. Among them if we take communication protocol
which is related to internet, the popular and which is using today is IPV 4. In this paper we are going
to discuss about the later version IPV6.
INTRODUCTION:
Internet protocol is a communication protocol which provides location and identification of computers
on networks and routes traffic across the internet. IPV6 is the latest version of internet protocol. It was
developed by internet engineering task force, when they are dealing with the IPV4 exhaustion
problem. Every device in this world which is connected to the internet is assigned IP address for
identification and its location. With rapid growth of technology, it became evident that we need more
addresses for connecting various new devices in the future. In 1990s, Internet engineering task force
has introduced IPV 6 to accommodate more addresses. IPV 4 uses only 32 bit addresses but IPV 6
addresses uses 128 bit addresses.
Internet protocol version 4 is the first publicly used protocol. It was developed by the defense
advanced research projects agency. It is a United States defense department agency, after that they
have shifted towards internet and is developing many technologies. Address exhaustion is not an
initial problem concern because it is a testing of DARPA s networking concepts. Amid the first decade
of operation of the Internet, by the late 1980s, it got to be evident that systems must be produced

This period, An Age of Reason, An Age of Passion, had a dual nature rational, responsive to reason,
but also anti rational, responsive to emotion.

Taste became a value above morality (Stewart et. al., 156). Rococo main themes focused on leisure,
love, and fashion. These themes and the dramatic verve of Rubens gave way to the lyrical tone of
Rubens great followers, Jean Antoine Watteau (1684 1721), Frangois Boucher (1703 1770), and Jean
Honor6 Fragonard (1732 1804), the outstanding masters of three generations of Rococo painting in
France (Stewart et al., 156).
When it comes to Fragonard and his paintings, I have to mention that he is one of my favorite painters.
Paintings like The Swing (1766), A Young Girl Reading (1776), The Study (1769), The Lover
Crowned (1771 73), The Meeting (1771 73) and so many more hold a special magic for me. Every
time I look at his paintings, it is like looking at a magic world. It is more like a dream world, or like an
old fashioned story that never loses its charm for a child s ears. Because of
Fragonard s talent, I can also listen to his magic stories: a stolen kiss, a flirtation giggle, the sound of

From this period, although not a Rococo artist, we have to mention Jean Baptiste Chardin (1699
1779). While his contemporaries painted their high style works of the upstairs aristocratic life,
Chardin painted the downstairs (Stewart et. al., 160): kitchen or pantry copper pots, earthenware jugs,
and raw food.

Summary Of Ban Zhao s Lessons For Women
In Lessons for Women, Ban Zhao discusses what she believes are the qualifications for an ideal
woman, ideal man, and also an ideal marriage. Lessons for Women reflect Confucian attitudes by
stressing the importance of humility, obedience, and performing your role in society. Ban Zhao
believes an ideal woman should always do what is right and never boast about it. If a woman makes a
mistake she believes they should accept it and not deny it. Ban Zhao believes a woman should have
four qualifications. They are womanly virtue, womanly words, womanly bearing, and womanly work.

woman should avoid vulgar language. Ban Zhao says an ideal woman should keep the

Evolution Of The Commerce Clause Analysis
Bryan Tam
Professor Joseph Margulies
GOVT 3001
Evolution of the Interpretation of the Commerce Clause by the US Supreme Court
From the birth of the Constitution of the United States in 1787 to the Supreme Court cases of the 21st
century, the interpretation of the Commerce Clause has been a great source of controversy in the
Supreme Court. Simply put, the Commerce Clause grants power to Congress to regulate Commerce
with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes . When interpreted
leniently, the Commerce Clause can give vast powers to Congress to regulate interstate commerce and
any action leading up to it. In Wickard v Filburn, a very lenient interpretation of the clause gave
Congress the power to regulate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dagenhart, a father of two boys who would have lost their jobs if this act was upheld, challenged this
act and this case was brought to the Supreme Court to be judged .
The Court ruled in favour of Dagenhart, firstly arguing that the power to regulate interstate commerce
does not include the power to prohibit interstate commerce. The Court also contended that the act does
not aim to regulate transportation among the states, but instead aims to regulate child labour in mining
and manufacturing within the states. Furthermore, the Court argued that manufacturing and mining are
not commerce even if they were to be shipped or used in interstate commerce. Thus, the act was out of
Congress power to regulate interstate commerce .
A dissent by Chief Justice Holmes however argued that the power to regulate included the power to
prohibit whatever Congress saw fit to. He then proceeded to list several historical examples where
Congress was allowed to prohibit the interstate trade of several products. It should be noted that this
case was later overturned by United States v Darby Lumber Company

Auden Vs Ginsberg
Literature has a lengthy history of odds and ends that get categorized by critics as unworthy of
widespread study, yet some are the most brilliant statements of their time. W. H. Auden s book length
poem The Age of Anxiety won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1948. It, along with Allen Ginsberg s
poem Howl, are diamonds that are often disregarded by literary critics and the public as worthless
rough. Each piece was a major breakthrough in its time. Auden and Ginsberg both attempted to define
the period of time and turmoil that they lived in as members of the other in their respective societies.
Both make booming battle cries for a generation, fit well into places of deserved canonical respect,
and receive influence from political and personal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Its worth is hotly debated. W. B. Yeats and T. S. Eliot were contemporaries of Auden s, and being a
part of that legendary group is close to an automatic deservance of being a canonical poet. Alternate
views from critics either list him as the worst of the three, yet others argue strongly that Auden was
the greatest poet of the entire 20th century for what he could do with words and form. Content in the
book length poem speak volumes of the talent that the American immigrant had. He created something
that is hotly debated as both a failure and his greatest accomplishment, and uncertainty in making that
decision make it all the more worthy to be in the canon. His uncertainty is the only real part of the
poem as Auden s character laments that The less I feel/The more I mind (commentary mag). The best
works are pieces that make one think about their worth. Characters that seem to mean little actually
have a lot to say with what they do as well as their words. Little happens, but the characters actions
comment on major themes of the human being. Halting speeches and words take the reader inside of
the mind as frailties become clear. What this poem has to say is vastly important once one gets past
the errors in form. Psychological and social problems are concerns that Age of Anxiety covers. Verse
should be neither too free nor too formed, as human experience is also neither: breath and

Jury System
The Jury System
CLU 3M1
By: Khalil Meghji
The jury system has been used for thousands of years to fairly determine innocence or guilt in a trial.
Although not utilized as much as in the past it is still used for most criminal and some civil cases. This
leads to an unjust legal system full of bias. The jury system was first seen in use by the ancient Greeks
thousands of years ago[1]. Though the system was the fairest way to produce a verdict, it cannot apply
today because society has endured a change which taints the foundation of a fair trial by jury. Juries
are much more open to tampering by interested parties through which can be undetected by the ...

This can alter the impact of evidence or testimony and the juror cannot make an informed decision.
The jury is not familiar with the law which can lead to confusion about different legal terms, what
evidence is considered circumstantial and how to exclude that from their decision after seeing it in
court. A jury comprised of the general public are also much more open to being influenced by how a
lawyer presents their case and not by evidence. Since the jury does not have any knowledge of
forensics they can be influenced by expert witnesses put on the stand by both the defense and the
prosecution which are completely contradictory.
The jury system has been used for thousands of years however, there are more logical and economical
methods to judge innocence or guilt fairly. While the jury system is not only taxing on the government
s resources it is also very difficult for the juror s. A juror in Canada is not compensated for trials under
10 days, if a trial runs from 11 49 days they get forty dollars a day, after 49 days the juror s receive
one hundred dollars per day[6]. To put a working citizen in the position of losing up to ten days pay to
serve in jury duty is very difficult. Being put into jury duty potentially carries other costs such as
childcare and transportation which is not covered by the government.
The jury system has been in use for thousands of years and has produced many fair verdicts. This
system in

  • 2. Woman´s Right on Abortions Personal Choices Women s reproductive rights have been endangered from early history. A woman s job included housework and child birth. Around 1920, women started receiving their choices and rights. In the 21st century, women are looked at with fairness and receive equal opportunities, but there is one right being stripped from women: the choice of using birth control and aborting pregnancy. Society frowns upon aborting a fetus in the womb, but it fails to realize the circumstantial standing each woman is placed in and should accept the decision a woman decides for her future whether it is to use birth control or abort her pregnancy. Women today may have more choices but it has not always been this way. Women of the past often didn t get much a choice about their sexuality (Bringle). However by 1950s, a pill to prevent pregnancy was created. Though this contraception was created, it was hard to get. A birth control advocate, Margaret Sanger, attacked legislative restrictions on birth control , informed many women the uses and positive aspects of using contraception, and encouraged doctors to give contraception guidance by opening the first birth control clinic in New York in 1916 (Bringle). Even after the widespread information of birth control, the accessibility of it today is low. This pill is a necessity for women in today s world and should be made more accessible. To use contraception, a doctor has to prescribe it and this prescription is rarely covered by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Abiding Presence Of God In The Gospel Of Matthew The Gospel of Matthew is an ancient biography. It discusses the generation of Jesus, worshipping his life and referring to his teachings as the good news. This Gospel summons readers to seek God s Kingdom, to follow Jesus so that they can experience wonderful things, and to act on His words, understand them and teach others like He taught us. The Gospel of Matthew consists of eight themes: The Abiding Presence of God, Jesus as the Son of God, The Teaching of Jesus, Discipleship, Interpretation and Scripture, Binding and Loosing, Worship and Doubt, Faith and Understanding, and Hostility Towards Jewish Leaders. God is omnipresent, meaning that he is in attendance everywhere at the same time. Matthew s Gospel exhibits interest in the ways that God is present on Earth. The Gospel of Matthew answers the question, Where is God? , usually asked by many struggling believers or by those who are generally curious. The answer that Matthew provides is divided into three presentations. The first being that God is present in Jesus, meaning that when Jesus was brought into this world, He had opened up a passage so that God can fully enter our world and actually be with us . In fact, the main point of this theme is that Matthew accepts those who worship Jesus and deems it appropriate because, in a sense, worshiping Jesus counts as worshiping God, who is present in Jesus. This point was proposed for the people who lived before Jesus crucifixion. However, after Easter, the question then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Tragedy Of The Titanic Disaster On the night of April 14, 1912 the world was struck with disaster as the RMS Titanic collided with an iceberg and sunk into the sea. Only 31.6% survived the disaster. In order to understand what factors lead to the highest chances of survival, this project uses a Titanic passenger database and decision trees in order to classify survivors into two groups, survived and perished. Then using this information, rank the most important factors regarding the likelihood of survival. From our experiments we found that the most important factor in surviving the Titanic disaster was title and that a decision tree that created around that variable as its highest level decision had a correct classification rate of 79.425% 1 Introduction On the night ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, the database also provides the class that the passenger was in, their ticket number, their cabin number, ticket price, and where they embarked. From this information, we hope to understand what factors played and role in survival and which were the most important. The rest of this paper proceeds as follows: In section 2, this paper discusses the creation of a decision tree. Section 3 describes to experimentation on the Titanic dataset. Section 4 gives the results of the comparison and the conclusions from the project. 2 Creating a Decision Tree We decided that the best to answer these questions would be to create a decision tree in order to classify which passengers into two categories survived and perished. By creating a decision tree that was able to classify most of the passengers statuses correctly, we know which of the factors were the most important due to the fact that the most important factors would be located at the top of the tree. The factors located on lower levels of the tree are less important, due to the fact that they are the deciding factor for survival for a smaller group of people. To create a decision tree, we begin by cleaning the data that we receive from the database. First, we remove the names of the passengers, due to the fact that we can more easily refer to them by their passenger ids. We also remove the information connected to cabin number, due ... It is more about balance. They believe the mind and body working together, in harmony and a balanced state. They use a practice called Ying and yang which is hot and cold. The use of natural plants for treatment of illness is common practice in Asian culture. Good nutrition plays a big part is their health. A diet mostly fish and vegetables is the healthy choice in their culture. Some of the practices for therapy include acupuncture, and coin rolling. Acupuncture focuses on points on the body to activate natural healing and to balance the body. The practice of acupuncture covers 306 fixed points of the body. The practitioner uses nine needles placed in specific point on the body to release yin (cold) or yang (heat) and create a balance between the two. The treatment can range from cancer, arthritis, or the common cold but, is mainly used for treatment of pain relief. There is also qi and chi which is the flow of energy throughout the body which is something like yin and yang it is all about a balance in the body for healing and good health. The aim of these screening programs is to prevent cervical cancer. Such screening programs do not exist in Kuwait. However, cervical screening is available. So why do I recommend that all women over the age of 20 should consider having cervical screening? Cervical cancer is a disease that mainly affects women in their 30 s and 40 s. Occasionally, it can affect those that are older or younger. Most importantly, this is a cancer that is preventable. Theoretical Framework of the Study As seen in the previous literature, much of the empirical research in the last twenty years has focused on documenting the positive student outcomes associated with service learning. Despite this focus, only few studies have also explored the role individual characteristics play in participation in such outcomes. Susan Jones (2002), for example, finds that the student s ability to actively participate in all aspects of her/his service learning experience depends on the intersection of the student s own background. . . , developmental readiness for such a learning experience, and the privileging conditions that put a college student in a community service organization as a volunteer in the first place (p. 13). Accordingly, different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In her conceptualization of student resistance to service learning through the critical developmental lens, Jones also considers the critical whiteness theory. Frankenberg (1993) describes Whiteness as multidimensional: First, whiteness is a location of structural advantage, of race privilege. Second, it is a standpoint and place from which white people look at ourselves, at others, and at society. Third, whiteness refers to a set of cultural practices that are usually unmarked and unnamed (p. 1). Although whiteness has intangible systems of oppression, inequality, and unearned advantage that are not necessary seen, heard, or felt; they reproduce and support the idea that being white is the ideal racial identity. Butin (2005) examines the dynamics of whiteness and the extent to which student resistance is conceptualized as occurring due to dominant students rejection of the exposure and analysis of these same hidden and/or explicit social, cultural, and academic structures and practices of the school that privilege and sustains white, middle class norms (p. 117). As such, addressing the dynamics of social inequalities through readings, classroom discussions, and community service visits may confront students with their conditions of privilege, as well as with new epistemologies that do not necessarily resonate with students previous knowledge of the world. Essay about Matching Dell MATCHING DELL CASE ANALYSIS This analysis describes the case of computer and peripherals industry especially the successful management of Dell Computer Corporation which grew twice as fast as its major rivals like Compaq, Gateway, Hewlett Packard and IBM. The main reason for the success of Dell was their Direct Model of selling computers which eliminated all traditional channels like distributors, resellers and retailers. Traditionally all its competitors like IBM, HP, and Compaq etc. used reseller, retailers and distributors to sell their computers to end users. IBM was the first company to launch its PC in 1981 and soon held 42% of the market. But the growth of IBM proved to be short ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another important aspect of the logistics strategy adopted by Dell was that suppliers were encouraged to locate warehouses and production facilities close to its assembly operations to ensure smooth flow of materials across the value chain. Through this value chain the company was able to introduce a wide range of products. All the above stated resources and capabilities decreased operating costs with enhanced customer service and thus helped maintain substantial profit margins through relatively low inventory and capital expenditures in comparison to the revenues. Thus if we talk in terms of the strategy triangle we can say that Dell had the resources and capabilities such as highly integrated sales forces, efficient supplier relations, a able leadership in Michael Dell, cross functional excellence and outstanding corporate culture, which eventually led the company to achieve its core strategy of direct distribution and selling and hence maintain a relatively high growth rate. Surprise Attack on Pearl Harbour In late 1941 more than 75 U.S. warships including battleships, cruisers, destroyers, submarines, and auxiliaries were based at this Gibraltar of the Pacific. All U.S. aircraft carriers were elsewhere. On November 26 a Japanese task force, consisting of 6 carriers, 2 battleships, 3 cruisers, and several destroyers and tankers under command of Vice Adm. Chuichi Nagumo, departed in secret from the Kuril Islands. Observing radio silence, it reached a launching point at 6 AM, December 7. At 7:50 AM, the first wave of Japanese planes struck Pearl Harbour, bombarding airfields and battleships moored at the concrete quays. A second wave followed. The surprise attack was over before 10 AM. The results were devastating; 18 U.S. ships were hit, and more than 200 aircraft destroyed or damaged. The battleship Arizona was a total wreck; the West Virginia and California were sunk; and the Nevada was heavily damaged. Approximately 2,400 Americans were killed, 1,300 wounded, and 1,000 missing. Japanese losses were fewer than 100 casualties, 29 planes, and 5 midget submarines. The Japanese scored a brilliant tactical victory, apparently crippling U.S. naval power in the Pacific. With function f (t), the first derivative is defined asf^ (t)= df/dt= lim┬(h→0)⁡ 〖(f(t) f(t h))/h〗. There is also a second derivative known as second order derivative. One of the main themes explored in The Awakening is that of a woman s place in society. In that time period, a woman was considered in some ways to be property of a man (Mahin 2). • 21. William Paley And David Hume Intelligent by Design Written by Alexander Staggs Vargas One of the most prominent philosophical arguments that remains today is the debate on the existence of God or an Intelligent Designer. This debate dates back a time of many Gods and deities during the era of Socrates, Plato and their students, including Aristotle. This discussion will focus on the differing works of authors William Paley and David Hume and I will argue that there is an Intelligent Designer for our universe. William Paley believes in the existence of God and that through his watchmaker analogy in Natural Theology he can prove that there is an Intelligent Designer. David Hume addresses William Paley s argument in Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion and argues Paley s analogy is weak since Hume believes we cannot analogize earthly things from things we cannot understand. In this paper, I will address these teleological arguments. To begin, we need to understand Paley s teleological argument that we are products of an Intelligent Designer. He argues that: 1) Human artifacts are products of intelligent design and we have a purpose; 2) The universe resembles these human artifacts; 3) Due to the similarities, it is probable that the universe is also a product of intelligent design; 4) However, the universe is vastly more complex and gigantic than a human artifact; and, 5) Therefore, it is most logical that a powerful and vastly intelligent designer created the universe. • 23. German Aggression Dbq Essay It is heavily debated that the display of German aggression inevitably contributed to the outbreak of general European tensions, and war in 1914. The use of strategies such as the Anglo German Naval Race, as stated in Joll s source, highlighted the aggression by Germany prior to war. Moreover, this type of tactic also demonstrated the desire and hunger Germany obtained for continental power, another factor towards European tensions. The sources in question both support and contest the set statement, to an extent. Sources 1 and 3 by Corrigan and Joll, respectively, argue how Germany s use of tactics agitated European powers, thus causing war. Joll contrasts with Turner, arguing how the German strategy of aggression via the arms race led to general war; Arms race, in which all major powers were involved contributed to the sense that war was bound to come, sooner rather than later . The quote implies that the use of the Arms Race was a major factor towards the inevitable war, also highlighting the aggression of Germany. Additonally, the source indicates the turbulent effect of the arms race on the nation; it caused serious financial difficulties for all governments involved . This demonstrates the severe impact of German aggression and how it had some severe flaws, despite hoping that the race would make for peace rather than war . A prime example of the consequences of German aggression was the July Crisis in 1914. The crisis led to severe consequences between Germany and other nations. The unconditional support by Germany for Austria Hungary aka blank cheque led to an increase in the chances of armed conflict and higher chances of war occurring. Overall, this is evident that Germany s involvement in other nations conflict only spurred the chances of war. In support of Joll, Corrigan and Fischer also highlight how German aggression was creating war. Moreover, the historians also concluded how Germany were adamant that the war would create two things in German favour power via annexation and armament. However, Joll highlights the ... • 24. The Factors Influencing The Adoption Of The United States In your own words, describe some of the factors that contributed to the adoption of the .05 level of statistical significance (see Kazdin, Chapter 16). One factor was Fisher referring to it in his 1925 book. Cowels and Davis (2016) stated that this may have been the first time the .05 level was referred to as statistical significance. Therefore, this may have been the most important contribution for the universal adoption of the .05 level, specifically. That being said, there were multiple contributions by previous researchers who also deserve credit for the evolution of statistical significance at the .05 level. Therefore, Fisher cannot be credited as the sole inventor of this concept. He can be credited as the first individual who recorded the .05 level and starting a trend that is universally practiced today. Another factor was the development of the law of frequency errors. In the 17th century, Huygens published work about reasoning strategies for dice games and other games of chance. A subsequent publication from De Moivre was published into three editions during the 18th century. De Moivre s works were said to be highly influential to the scientific field since it generated the bell shaped curve (Cowels Davis, 2016). Soon thereafter, Laplace and Gauss applied distribution principles, previously used for gambling, to the scientific field. The development of the law of frequency errors and then the transfer to the scientific field can be credited, then, as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Theme Of Light In Pablo Neruda The Use of Light in Pablo Neruda s The Light Wraps You (II), In My Sky at Twilight (XVI) and Thinking, Tangling Shadows (XVII): Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair For the most part, life revolves around light. Certain tasks are done in the light, while others are not. Light comes in many forms, as seen through Pablo Neruda s Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair. Throughout the poetry collection, Neruda uses light imagery to portray the themes of love, happiness, sadness, heartache, hopelessness, darkness, destruction, negativity, and life which can compel the reader to ponder over the poetry. Neruda creates light images to portray the themes through references of lamps, twilight/night, shadows and fire in the poems The Light Wraps You (II), In My Sky at Twilight (XVI) and Thinking, Tangling Shadows (XVII). Lamps are used in Neruda s poems to symbolize life, as well as light. Neruda writes in poem XVII, burying lamps, (4) and burying lamps in the deep solitude (30) which can be an allusion to the Pagan tradition of burying most often unlit lamps with the deceased to provide a light in the next world after death (Wikipedia, 2017). However, this can also refer to the idea of burying light creating darkness or hope. The themes of life and sadness are presented in the two poems which help the reader understand the themes. Introduction Since some years, there has been fundamental shift in infant nutrition research due to increasing evidence that the role of early nutrition during this vital period of life has deep biological effects and has an important consequence both in long and short term health (Fewtrell 2007). The research that has been done in this area offers strong evidence that human milk feeding decreases the severity and incidence of a vast range of infectious diseases (Garner 1997). I don t use slang very much in text messages or emails partly because I don t feel the need and I am normally emailing professors and staff members who expect me to respect them by writing with proper English. Most of the time my roommates and I use slang when we are just messing or playing around. Therefore, the use of slang in my classroom will be mainly for educational purposes and limited because of the focus on standard English and the negative view it may put upon the child. There is no doubt that people use slang almost every day. These people might be just using it for fun and mocking others, while some may use it to protest the use of standard English. The book, How English Works, by Curzan and Adams talks about how slang is used in everyday life and thrives in places that involve pop music, athletics, narcotics, and other various factors (Curzan and Adams, 2012). I feel that Curzan and Adams are right on point when they say slang thrives on these main ideas. For example, my roommates listen to music that has slang involved in it. My roommates and I normally sing to some of the songs while they are playing or even after they are done playing and use slang without consciously knowing because it is in a song. • 45. Evolution Of The Commerce Clause Analysis Bryan Tam Professor Joseph Margulies GOVT 3001 Evolution of the Interpretation of the Commerce Clause by the US Supreme Court From the birth of the Constitution of the United States in 1787 to the Supreme Court cases of the 21st century, the interpretation of the Commerce Clause has been a great source of controversy in the Supreme Court. Simply put, the Commerce Clause grants power to Congress to regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes . When interpreted leniently, the Commerce Clause can give vast powers to Congress to regulate interstate commerce and any action leading up to it. In Wickard v Filburn, a very lenient interpretation of the clause gave Congress the power to regulate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dagenhart, a father of two boys who would have lost their jobs if this act was upheld, challenged this act and this case was brought to the Supreme Court to be judged . The Court ruled in favour of Dagenhart, firstly arguing that the power to regulate interstate commerce does not include the power to prohibit interstate commerce. The Court also contended that the act does not aim to regulate transportation among the states, but instead aims to regulate child labour in mining and manufacturing within the states. Furthermore, the Court argued that manufacturing and mining are not commerce even if they were to be shipped or used in interstate commerce. Thus, the act was out of Congress power to regulate interstate commerce . A dissent by Chief Justice Holmes however argued that the power to regulate included the power to prohibit whatever Congress saw fit to. He then proceeded to list several historical examples where Congress was allowed to prohibit the interstate trade of several products. It should be noted that this case was later overturned by United States v Darby Lumber Company ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Auden Vs Ginsberg Literature has a lengthy history of odds and ends that get categorized by critics as unworthy of widespread study, yet some are the most brilliant statements of their time. W. H. Auden s book length poem The Age of Anxiety won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1948. It, along with Allen Ginsberg s poem Howl, are diamonds that are often disregarded by literary critics and the public as worthless rough. Each piece was a major breakthrough in its time. Auden and Ginsberg both attempted to define the period of time and turmoil that they lived in as members of the other in their respective societies. Both make booming battle cries for a generation, fit well into places of deserved canonical respect, and receive influence from political and personal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Its worth is hotly debated. W. B. Yeats and T. S. Eliot were contemporaries of Auden s, and being a part of that legendary group is close to an automatic deservance of being a canonical poet. Alternate views from critics either list him as the worst of the three, yet others argue strongly that Auden was the greatest poet of the entire 20th century for what he could do with words and form. Content in the book length poem speak volumes of the talent that the American immigrant had. He created something that is hotly debated as both a failure and his greatest accomplishment, and uncertainty in making that decision make it all the more worthy to be in the canon. His uncertainty is the only real part of the poem as Auden s character laments that The less I feel/The more I mind (commentary mag). The best works are pieces that make one think about their worth. Characters that seem to mean little actually have a lot to say with what they do as well as their words. Little happens, but the characters actions comment on major themes of the human being. Halting speeches and words take the reader inside of the mind as frailties become clear. What this poem has to say is vastly important once one gets past the errors in form. Psychological and social problems are concerns that Age of Anxiety covers. Verse should be neither too free nor too formed, as human experience is also neither: breath and ... • 47. Jury System The Jury System CLU 3M1 By: Khalil Meghji The jury system has been used for thousands of years to fairly determine innocence or guilt in a trial. Although not utilized as much as in the past it is still used for most criminal and some civil cases. This leads to an unjust legal system full of bias. The jury system was first seen in use by the ancient Greeks thousands of years ago[1]. Though the system was the fairest way to produce a verdict, it cannot apply today because society has endured a change which taints the foundation of a fair trial by jury. Juries are much more open to tampering by interested parties through which can be undetected by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can alter the impact of evidence or testimony and the juror cannot make an informed decision. The jury is not familiar with the law which can lead to confusion about different legal terms, what evidence is considered circumstantial and how to exclude that from their decision after seeing it in court. A jury comprised of the general public are also much more open to being influenced by how a lawyer presents their case and not by evidence. Since the jury does not have any knowledge of forensics they can be influenced by expert witnesses put on the stand by both the defense and the prosecution which are completely contradictory. The jury system has been used for thousands of years however, there are more logical and economical methods to judge innocence or guilt fairly. While the jury system is not only taxing on the government s resources it is also very difficult for the juror s. A juror in Canada is not compensated for trials under 10 days, if a trial runs from 11 49 days they get forty dollars a day, after 49 days the juror s receive one hundred dollars per day[6]. To put a working citizen in the position of losing up to ten days pay to serve in jury duty is very difficult. Being put into jury duty potentially carries other costs such as childcare and transportation which is not covered by the government. The jury system has been in use for thousands of years and has produced many fair verdicts. This system in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
