Cultural Diffusion Essay
Writing an essay on cultural diffusion can be both intriguing and challenging. At its core, the
topic delves into the complex interplay of cultures, exploring how ideas, customs, and
technologies spread and interact across different societies. While the concept itself is fascinating,
crafting a comprehensive essay requires thorough research, critical analysis, and a nuanced
understanding of various cultural dynamics.
One of the primary challenges lies in navigating the vast amount of information available.
Cultural diffusion is a broad and multifaceted phenomenon, encompassing historical,
anthropological, sociological, and even economic perspectives. To write a compelling essay, one
must sift through diverse sources, ranging from academic journals and books to cultural artifacts
and contemporary media.
Moreover, capturing the nuances of cultural exchange demands sensitivity and cultural
competence. It's essential to avoid oversimplification or cultural appropriation while discussing
the diffusion process. Instead, the essay should strive to present a balanced portrayal of how
cultural elements spread, adapt, and influence one another, acknowledging both the benefits and
challenges that arise from such interactions.
Furthermore, addressing the complexities of cultural diffusion requires a coherent structure and
clear argumentation. Organizing the essay around key themes or case studies can help provide
focus and coherence to the discussion. However, synthesizing diverse perspectives and weaving
them into a cohesive narrative can be demanding, requiring analytical rigor and effective
communication skills.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on cultural diffusion presents significant challenges, it also
offers a rewarding opportunity to explore the rich tapestry of human interaction and exchange.
By engaging with this topic thoughtfully and critically, one can gain valuable insights into the
dynamic nature of cultures and the ways they shape our world.

Women In Medieval Time Period
The medieval britain time period was the start of the noticeability for women.
Women were beginning to rise in control in this time period. They were gaining
more respect and honor than previous time periods, whereas women were only
known to keep the house and children. However, women were also known for their
seductiveness in this time period. They also were more loved for their virtues
rather than their prettiness. Women in the medieval time period were being put in
more higher places and were being on more power. In the medieval time period
women were increasingly becoming more noticed as well as being put in high
places. Before the twelfth century there was no place for women to reign as
queens. Only after the death of a king did a queen hold the royal chair for but a
brief time until either a husband was suitable for the royal crown or a son who
was not old enough yet reached the appropriate age to rule in government with his
mother. However, there were three daughters of kings Alfonso VI of Castile,
Baldwin II of Jerusalem, and Henry I of England forced the problem of female
succession after failure of male heirs to be acknowledged. Urraca utilized full
authority instantly after Alfonso VI s death. She was unquestionably the ruler of the
royal chair in her own right for a time. Melisende never ruled the royal chair
completely on her own, however, her husband Count Fulk of Anjou was not formally
affiliated with her at first during the time of Baldwin II was still
What Practices Can Help Retain These Mature Workers (...
Discussion Questions 1.What practices will help retain these mature workers
(Veterans and Baby Boomers)? The Society for Human Resource Management
article discusses the challenge many companies face of finding qualified workers
and the importance of engaging and retaining mature workers to help meet that
challenge. A recent Gallup poll found that Traditionalists and Baby Boomers are
actually more engaged while at work than their younger counter parts Gen x and
Gen Y (Gallup, 2013). While their engagement percentage is higher, we shouldn t
get too encouraged by that; it is still a shockingly low number: 42% of
Traditionalists and 32% of Baby Boomers (Gallup, 2013). That means the
remaining 58% and 68% respectively could either decide to retire or could be
adding more value. Many mature employees would stay with their companies
longer if there were more flexible retirement plans (Gibaldi, n.d.). These
employees, especially Boomers, are still driven to contribute and offer their
expertise, but also want time to spend with their families, pursue their interests,
and travel (Gibaldi, n.d.). Most of those mature employees that want to continue to
work, prefer to do so on a part time basis (Tacchino, 2013). There are a variety of
ways to allow wisdom workers to phase their retirement (Gornick, 2005): Allow
them to work part time hours; Reduce their work schedule from 5 days to 2 or 3;
Hire them as contractors to assist on special projects; Limit their work
The Movie Rudy
Everyone who have succeeded in life faced obstacles and criticisms at some point
throughout the process. The movie, Rudy, was no difference. It was an American
sports film directed by Daniel Anspaugh in 1993. It was based on a true story of
Daniel Rudy Ruetigger who had always dreamt of playing football at the University
of Notre Dame. Through Rudy s life, he had always been told that pursuing his
dream of playing in the Notre Dame football team would only cause him
disappointment. However, evident through the entire movie, Rudy s full desire
helped him to overcome any struggles that came into his way. He faced all the
challenges that he encountered and achieved his goal. Determination and
perseverance led in to Rudy s success in despite... Show more content on

Being able to get in the university was one thing, achieveing his goal to be part of
the football team was much more. Therefore, he always made sure that he gave his
one hundred and twenty percent during training in football even though he kept on
getting trampled. His hard work paid off when he got the good news, he was
accepted as one of the players for the Notre Dame football team. The team saw
Rudy s passion and tenacity that inspired them their coach called this an
extraordinary heart. However, it came to the point that he gave up and quitted in
frustration because Coach Dan Devine, who was their new coach never let him
address, even once. Though, with his heart to heart talk with Fortune, the man who
helped him to get a job, he was enlightened. Fortune told him that he was also once
a player but he quitted and regretted it every day. He said to Rudy, In this life time
you don t have to prove nothing to nobody except yourself. At the end, Rudy came
back and was able to play during the fourth quarter. The Notre Dame football team
won and, finally Rudy and his family could not get any happier. In the movie, Rudy,
it was shown how people should never give up no matter how hard the struggles
are. Just as what Rudy did, he never gave up even he was having a hard time with
his family not supporting him , his low academic grades and the discrimination from
his coach. With his passion and perseverance, Rudy succeeded and became the last
player who has been carried off the stadium since
Mtv Networks And The Middle East
Abstract
Since 1981, MTV Networks (MTVN) has developed a reputation for its ability to
provide localized content without compromising the MTV culture. However, the
company faced challenges in late 2007 with its launch of MTV Arabia in the Middle
East, making it one of the biggest launches in channel history. While the market in the
Middle East offered MTV with lucrative business opportunities, the networks
controversial content could potentially backfire in the conservative environment
prevalent in the region. On the other hand, too much localization to suit the tastes of
the region could dilute MTV s global brand.
This paper will discuss MTVN s challenges, strategy and effectiveness in expanding
in the Middle East.
Introduction
With a growing gross domestic product (GDP) of Arabia, suggesting a lucrative
market, MTVN joined forces with the largest media group in the UAE, Arabia
Media Group, to launch the Arabic version of MTV as MTV Arabia in 2007.
MTVN would be set to compete with approximately 370 other 24 hour free satellite
channels in the growing market of $3 billion.
Before launching, MTV needed to understand the cultural profile of the Arab world
one that consists of over 20 countries stretching from Morocco, across Northern
Africa, to the Persian Gulf. These countries are religiously and ethnically diverse with
a multitude of ethnic, religious and linguistic groups. To be an Arab is a cultural trait
rather than a racial one and Arab history and culture are based
Argumentative Essay On Baroque Music
Baroque Music The word Baroque was derived from the word barroco, which is used
to mean the period in which western region widely used music especially in the
nineteenth century to express how the European artist practiced the art. When the
historical happenings of the music in well explored, the critics who applied the
musical knowledge made it look strange and majorly sounded exaggerated.
Furthermore, ornamentals were initially used during the era of Bash and Handel.
After the brand of music had shed the connotations that were derogatory, baroques
became one of the mot simplest and convenient in the brand and one of the richest
term, which in the diverse period was included the musical history. Additionally,
despite producing the music... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accordingly, the composers can start imagining about the inspiration the work of
music has done as well as the starting point of the artwork. Throughout the Baroque
era, the composers of the music earned a living through just writing the songs and
were fortunate to be included in the payroll thus perform the religious and political
works that they were presented with during the time. The needs of the institution in
which the work was done dictated entirely which type of music that would be written
by the composers. When the Baroque music has been fully used will dictate the way
the history of the music can be perceived by the people and how gently they would
be used to influence the belief of the majority of the people and how important they
are to the society.
Characteristics of Baroque Music The dramatic and rhetoric composition of the
music gave the possibilities of generating new interests and the creation of a variety
of sounds during the Baroque period. Some of the major characteristics of the
Baroque music were;

Isolation and Identification of Thermophilic Fungi
We isolated thirty thermophilic fungi with ability to grow at 45 В°C on medium
containing wheat bran and casein as carbon sources and produced proteases in both
SSF and SmF (data not shown). The fungus strain F.2.1.4 presented the highest
protease activity and was sub jected to taxonomic characterization.
Analyses of macro and micro morphological characteristics accommodated the isolate
F.2.1.4 in the genus Myceliophthora due to the presence of spreading colonies with
dense aerial mycelium and blastic conidia often borne in ampulliform swellings (Van
Oorschot, 1980). Particularly, this isolate produced pulverulent pale mycelium,
obovoid conida measuring 5.65 7.91 x 3.39 4.52 Ојm as well as conidia walls finely

Alkaline proteases have many applications in the industry such as laundry detergents,
leather processing, brewing, food and pharmaceutical industries therefore the
alkalophilic properties exhibited by proteases from Myceliophthora sp. in SSF are an
important aspect to be explored.
The maximum activity for both crude enzymes was 50ВєC but the crude enzyme
from SSF maintained 95% of the maximum activity at 60ВєC while for the protease
from SmF the activity was 79% (Figure 3b). This property is consistent with the
dates reported for extracellular enzymes from thermophiilic fungi. Similar results
were reported for proteases from Thermoascus aurantiacus var levisporus (55oC)
(Marcy et al., 1984). Proteases from thermophilic Scytalidium (Hasbay and Г–gel,
2002) and from thermotolerant Aspergillus fumigatus (Santos et al., 1996) showed
optima activities at 45 oC.
Since the protease activity was higher in crude enzyme solution from SSF and addi
tionally, it showed alkaline optimum pH and activity at higher temperature range (50
65 ВєC), it was used for the immobilization procedure.
Entrapment of the protease in calcium alginate beads
Among the quantities of sodium alginate (2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 % (w/v)) and CaCl2
concentrations (0.04, 0.06, 0.08, 0.1 M), the best condition for immobilization of the
protease was 2.5 % alginate and 0.08 mM CaCl2 (data not shown), obtaining 2 mm
(average diameter) beads.
The immobilized enzyme was reevaluated
Essay on Understanding Work Duties in Business
Management
There are many different fields in the business world. Business Management is the
largest field in the corporate world. It takes responsibility, skill and determination to
form a successful business of any type. There are numerous areas within a business
that need the skills of management. Control of expenses, payroll, time management,
and to initially raise capital to start a business all are areas in which management
has to play an important role. Any businesses main objective is to gain a profit. A
profit is the amount of money a business earns after all of it debts are paid. The
field of management is essential to organize the business in such a way that a profit
is made. The business start up is the most important piece of... Show more content on

One type of cost is called fixed cost. This type of cost is the expense of a business
that does not change and are always constant in a business. When money is made,
debts are the first initiative to be paid off. Fixed costs include rent, wages to
employees, and equipment needed to produce you good and or service. In for
example a Flower shop, the fixed costs would be the rent on the building, the
payment of the delivery vans, and employee salaries. The other type of costs is
called variable cost. This type of cost is one that is ever changing. Again in a
Flower shop the variable costs would be a dozen roses. One week a dozen roses
may cost the flower shop five dollars to buy them and then they sell them for forty
five dollars. Then the next week the price of the roses my rise by five dollars now
costing the flower shop ten so in order for the florist to make the same amount of
money as last week he needs to increase his price to the consumer with the increase
on price he is paying. The basic main idea of cost is to keep it as low as possible to
gain the highest profits. Determining the profit of a business is another major part
of management. Profit is the total income that you receive after paying all of your
debts. All debts include for example rent, wages, and interest. A general formula to
calculate profit is P = R C. This says when total revenue is subtracted from
My Memories That Changed My Mind
One of the memories that is more permeate in my mind is when my father had to
travel to China for business intentions. I remember when he leaves the country, but
not more than when he arrived home. Usually, when he came back home, he
usually bring with him some gifts for me and my mother, and he never forgets to
bring me my favorite gift which I still love when he give away to me. I like to call it
as the GodВґs dessert because of its curious shape of production, intense flavor, and
delightful meaning. Thinking in this product makes me want to have some of it. The
first impression people might have when they see this dessert is that it might be an
expensive and luxurious product because of its embellished packaging. It can be
identified by the cute design of the box due to the fact that on the left of the box there
is a sumptuous ribbon that its background color is a combination between dark
cinnamon and lightly caramel, furthermore, the ribbon has the brandВґs name
sketched all around it. The theme color of the whole box is pearly white what
makes the letters of the brand, written on the top of the box, stand out in a bright
gold. Moreover, bellow the ribbon there is a little description in French about the
glamorous product and next to it a small window made of transparent plastic where
the small pieces of the product are shown to the public. The most interesting thing
comes after its purchase. I start feeling the anxiety when it is time to open this fancy
box because as
Palm Oil Growth And Sustainability
Palm Oil Growth in Peru Slows as Land Suitability and Sustainability Take Top
Priority
Palm is a tree crop suited to cultivation in climatic conditions similar to those of the
tropical rainforest. From 1999 to 2009, global production more than doubled. Thirty
years ago, palm oil accounted for less than 2 percent but now accounts for 37
percent of vegetable oil consumption worldwide, and palm has displaced soy as the
world s most important vegetable oil. Palm oil is used as a biofuel, for cooking, and in
a wide range of other items, including food products, cosmetics, soaps and detergents.
Malaysia and Indonesia produce 85 percent of the world s palm oil. Expansion in
these two countries is expected to diminish by 2022, however, as land suitable for
additional palm oil production dwindles. As an alternative, developers are looking to
other regions for expansion, including Latin America. Estimates suggest that Peru has
the second largest area potentially suitable for increased oil palm production within
this region.
Area Expansion
In 2003, the Peruvian government announced that the production of biofuels,
including palm oil, would be a priority. Before 2006, palm expansion in Peru was
slow and occurred mainly on already cleared land (mostly pastures and secondary
growth forests, as opposed to old growth forests.) Between 2006 and 2010, however,
area doubled, and about 70 percent of all new palm plantations during this time were
established by old growth clearing.

Ww2 Continuation
World War II was a continuation of World War I.
One could make the argument WW 2 was a continuation of WW1. World War 2
occurred twenty years after World War 1. WW 1 left causes leading to WW 2, like,
Treaty of Versailles and the search for thorough ideas, such as Fascism, communism
and militarism. It was due to the terrible conditions of different countries after the
wars. I think that World War II was a continuation of World War I
.
Many people can say that these two wars are the same, and that World War II was a
continuation of World War I. World War I had a foundation built of imperialism,
militarism, and nationalism. This war took place overseas in Europe. World War I
took flight once the Archduke Ferdinand was assassinated in Bosnia. Bosnia Wanted
to be independent from Austria. There were two groups in this war, there was the
Central Powers (Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Italy) and the Allied Forces
(France, Russia, and Great Britain), and But the United States was trying to stay
neutral. Even though we were trying to stay neutral we could not do that after several
events took place. 1917 the United States entered the war. By November 11, ... Show

Militarism is the belief that preparation for war provides moral training and is the
best safeguard of peace and national interest. The first nation to do this was
Germany. A perfect example of this was the main cause of World War II for me,
which was Hitler. Hitler built a political army (the Nazi s); they abused and killed
millions of Jews. The first acts of the war was in 1939, Germany and the Soviet
Union invaded Poland. The U.S was trying to stay out of this as well, but sooner or
later they entered the war. Not much later the war was ended and the Germans had
lost as Hitler escaped and fled into
The Romantic Tale Of Two Star Crossed Lovers
This film focuses on the romantic tale of two star crossed lovers who become tangled
in a dangerous dilemma, of course, all while singing catchy show tunes. However,
underlying most of the romantic overtures and happenings is something fundamental:
the desire for sex. In the film, this need can be easily explored and satisfied through
prostitution. By exploring both sides of the prostitution dynamic (the prostitute and
the client), the motivations for engaging in this business will emerge as unique and
different for each side. To help prime the later discussion of the individual
influences, it would be useful to understand the history from which prostitution
emerges and the manner in which the nature of the work is portrayed in the film.
Prostitution is defined as the act or practice of engaging in sexual activity for
money or its equivalent (as cited in Salmon, 2008). This practice goes back
thousands of years and was present in many cultures, however, it was around the
Middle Ages when the Church s attitude shifted towards perceiving the act as evil
(Salmon, 2008). Though it was seen as an evil, it was kept around because of its
perceived utility towards helping young unmarried men and was subsequently housed
in brothels (Salmon, 2008). This is the environment we find the characters of the
film, a 1900 Paris brothel located in the district of Montmartre. The notion that
prostitution is regarded as a social ill in this environment is supported by the warning

When dawn broke over the Tamorian plains, Larah awoke alone. Both Riasean and

He is gone, he stated in a sharp tone. Left about a couple of hours ago. We talked,
very briefly.
Which way was he headed? she asked.
South, he replied, Or so he said.

Riasean chuckled. Would you?
She looked earnestly at him. No.

But this was was uncommon, as most buildings ranged from decrepit to inhabitable.
Larah wondered if all city dwellers had to live in such dilapidated conditions.
Riasean did not appear to share her impression. Instead, a half smile crept upon his
features.
Then she smelled it. Of what exactly she could not tell perhaps horse manure, rotting
garbage, sweat or some other noxious combination. Like a dirty blanket, the stench
hung in the air, invading the senses in an unavoidable and persistent manner. She
pulled the loose flap of her hood over her nose and mouth in a feeble attempt to keep
it out of her lungs.
I will take you to the Black Boar Tavern, near the river; it s about the only decent
place to stay in the city, Riasean stated. His eyes slowly panned about, a studied
gaze now gracing his features. Larah nodded between gulps of air.
As they neared the river, the sun rose to its noon perch mixing heat into the
aromatic stew through which they rode. Several times Larah eyes watered and she
coughed. Even so, she derived a small bit of comfort from Riasean also having to
cover his face. The few people they passed hid in the shadows or huddled in
doorways. A few glanced up curiously but then ducked into alleys. Several times they
had to backtrack, either because of crowds or debris blocking the street.
Eventually, they reached the river, framed by buildings fronting it, small quays and

Restorative Nostalgia In The Post-Russian Fashion Analysis
Fashion has always been trapped in a love affair with the past. As designers seek a
muse in their local cultures, backpedaling into a nation s history for inspiration has
become a key rhetoric in the fashion industry. For many leading labels certain time
frames and sociopolitical atmospheres prove to play a role in the creative and
economic process of the world of fashion, and the eclectic nature of fashion design
demonstrate a confluence between nation, nostalgia, and fashion (Best, 2017).
Seeking the transhistorical reconstruction of a past time, the concept of restorative
nostalgia finds itself interconnected in the realm of fashion creativity. Focussing on
the modern construction of the Russian nation, this paper will address the role of
restorative nostalgia in the Russian fashion industry, how designers use nostalgia as a
creative tool in fashion and the phenomena of the post Soviet aesthetic, as well as the
capacity of rootless Soviet nostalgia among Russias youth and its impact on the
consumption of post Soviet fashions today.
Often resulting from the frustration Russia experienced after the fall of the Soviet
Union, nostalgia for a USSR past reminds us of the important changes that followed
Soviet dissolution, including the elimination in Russia of widespread political and
socioeconomic regulation of society. But echoes of the Soviet past, including
crackdowns on dissent, now seem more pronounced (White, 2010). As post Soviet
Russia, through time and western

The Canadian Progressive Rock Band Rush
Books, movies, paintings, music, and other types of art are connected in various
ways, but one connection seems to stand out. All art mediums are constructed in a
way that disallows a median to be reached regarding one s opinion from another. If a
group of people favors one thing, another group most likely exists that has the
opposite, or conflicting opinion. 2112, read Twenty one twelve, is a 7 part conceptual
album by the Canadian progressive rock band Rush, illustrates this conflict in its
main plot. Regardless of its vivid storytelling and impactful instrumentals that glues
everything together, it is evident that each listener will break apart in terms of their
personal opinions.

The conversation between Anonymous, and the priest during IV. Presentation ,
separates light from dark. Anonymous, after discovering a guitar that the Elder race
of man left, speaks out to share his opinions. I can t believe you re saying / These

By 1811, Miguel Hidalgo and Ignacio Allende were left with no moves against the
Spanish army. The Mexican army had won victories at Guanajuato and Monte de
las Cruces but were still being chased around Mexico by the royalist army.
Occupying the city of Guadalajara, Hidalgo and Allende would hold their ground at
the Calderon Bridge. Hidalgos army had grown to some 80,000 thanks to the Grito
de Dolores. Even though some of the better trained and armed soldiers had defected,
most fighters were poor peasants and Indians armed with machetes, axes, knives and
clubs. Most couldn t even communicate with one another because they spoke
different languages, yet they still defeated the better trained royalist army. Hidalgo
and Allende made a good team... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By 1813, the Spanish had organized a response to the Mexican army. A general by
the name of Felix Calleja, who defeated Hidalgo at the Battle of Calderon Bridge

battle at Valladolid and were forced to put on
Lucent Technologies Supply Chain Of Asia
Lucent Technologies supply chain in Asia had many issues back in1996 and once it
became independent from AT T; some of which were long lead times, high cost, high
inventories, poor technical support for local Asian operations and its customers. This
was a consequence of the historical supply of Asia from the United States. The
establishment of local Asian facilities was only as an entry mean to the Asian market.
Even though the facilities provided some high level assembly and test, the supply
chain was organized and centered on the U.S. leading to the problems mentioned
earlier. A change was required and thus a supply chain redesign was completed in
1996, providing more Asian content. The change had a successful payback; however,
developing changes in the marketplace, in suppliers, and in the manufacturing
environment suggested that the supply chain was no longer optimal. At the start,
forming the four joint ventures in Asia (Taiwan, Indonesia, China, and India) was
only an entry vehicle for Lucent into the Asian market and not part of a
manufacturing strategy. Nevertheless, Lucent had its share in the Asian market, was
able to manage its business there successfully, and did not have much of challenges.
They were the market leader in the U.S. for switching systems, and their flagship
product the 5ESSВ® Switch was the most reliable and widely used switching system

Laura
In The Glass Menagerie, Laura Winfield is like a fragile piece of glass, like many
of her glass animals in her collection. The whole play is based around a
dysfunctional family and their challenges adapting to life. Laura, with her physical
and mental disabilities, isn t able to survive in the world, so she isolates herself. She
makes a whole worldto herself inside the apartment filled with her symbolic glass
figurine collection. (Her unicorn, in particular.) There is one time, in particular,
when she seems to be improving. This is the scene where Jim O Connor visits and
she is finally coming out of her shell and likes being around him. The scene sticks
out to the others because Laura never possessed the capacity to much consider a

Jim made her feel comfortable and accepted her as she was. The man that she had
always pined over was becoming a reality. Unlike her mother and brother, she is
finally living in the present. She opens up to him and shares her most secluded
thoughts about a glass unicorn and what it means to her. Jim is silent as she talks
about her collection. She discusses how this is her most loved piece since it is not
at all like the horse in the collection . Jim comments must feel sort of lonesome it
being the only horse with a horn. Laura comments Well, he doesn t complain about
it. He stays on the shelf with some horses that don t have horns and all of them
seem to get along nicely together. This is the reason that Laura cherishes this
piece, she can relate that it is different to the other horses. Similarly as she is not at
all like every other young lady. This remark appears to be exceptionally weird
originating from Laura it is practically clever. Comical comments are not
predictable with her character. It is now that Laura rolls out a transitory
improvement. Jim makes her feel so comfortable, he ask her to dance and even
gives her a kiss. His intentions were to give her the confidence she needs to
function in the outside world. This, unfortunately, all comes crashing down,
because it is revealed that he is engaged. After helping her to build her confidence,
it only brings her false hopes and draws back to her fantasy world of the glass
menagerie. Her heart is broken like the horn of her unicorn. She gives it to Jim
because she understand that, liker her, will never be the same as he came into her
Essay on Farmland Industries Inc.
Introduction
Today, when we hear the slogans quot;better farming, better food, quot; or quot;proud
to be farmer owned quot; one company comes to mind, Farmland Industries. We may
think of this of this fortune 500 company as a leading agricultural powerhouse, which
it is, however, it was not always that way.
Background
Farmland Industries Inc. was founded by Howard A. Cowden, who was born and
raised in Southwestern Missouri. Cowden started young in the cooperative business
by working for the Missouri Farmers Association (MFA). However; in
October of 1927, he had resigned from the position of secretary for the MFA and

Examples Of Verbal Irony In Romeo And Juliet
In act 5 of Romeo and Juliet, there were several examples of both verbal and
situational irony. The first example was found in scene 1 when Balthasar brought
Romeo news about Juliet. Romeo first asks How doth my lady? Is my father well?
/How doth my Juliet? That I ask again, /For nothing can be ill if she be well.
(5.1.15 17). Then Balthasar responds with Then she is well and nothing can be ill.
(5.1.18). The verbal irony is that Juliet is as well as she can ever be even though she
is dead. Because she is dead, she cannot deal with tragedy or illness again, so she is
technically as well as possible. Another example of verbal irony is seen again after
Romeo purchases poison from the apothecary. Romeo refers to the poison as
cordial when he says Come, cordial and not poison, go with me /To Juliet s grave,
for there must I use thee. (5.2.90 91). A cordial is a sweet liqueur or medicine, and
the irony in this line is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While talking to Friar John, Friar Lawrence says, Who bare my letter, then, to
Romeo? (5.3.13). Friar John then responds with I could not send it here it is again
/Nor get a messenger to bring it thee, /So fearful were they of infection. (5.3.14 16).
This is an example of situational irony because the Friar expected Romeo to
receive the letter and ironically the opposite occurred, and the message never even
made its way to him. Later in the scene, after Romeo kisses Juliet and drinks his
potion, Juliet wakes up. She addresses the Friar by saying O comfortable friar,
where is my lord? /I do remember well where I should be, /And there I am. Where
is my Romeo? (5.3.153 155). Juliet is expecting that everything will be okay and that
she will be reunited with Romeo, but the opposite actually occurs. Juliet sees Romeo
lying on the ground after he drinks the potion, and she stabs herself out of
Cons Of Eugenics
The idea that one can improve the human race by careful selection of those who
mate and produce offspring is called eugenics. It is better understood as the process
of selective breeding can improve human society. The term eugenics is from the
greek, meaning well born . The idea of eugenics is to have a society be abundant with
many wanted traits, during a movement called the melting pot where people tried to
solve their problems with the use of technology. Inquiries into HumanFaculty and Its
Development, is the book in which Sir Francis Galton first mentioned the term
eugenics. In the book he says that humans believe that humans were disrupting
evolution in maintaining the weak and sickly through social welfare programs, mental

The way eugenics will be used is by correcting genetic problems in embryos. Soon
enough a parent will be able to find out the accurate view of their child s genes,
allowing any defects to be seen. If the child seems perfectly healthy no changes
will be made. On the other hand if a problem is spotted the parents may choose to
go through with gene therapy, also known as eugenics. This process will not only
be able to identify health problems, but also personality traits. It allows the baby to
be deigned to the parents desire. There are many pros and cons to this concept,
which is a reason why there are questions to whether the situation can be resolved
or not. One of the greatest benefits of eugenics is the possibility of fighting
illnesses and curing types of cancer. The chances of cancer or genetic illnesses is
when the persons genes are altered and the traits are passed on to their children. A
way to prevent genetic illness is when the doctor injects an artificial human
chromosome into the fertilized egg, which will cause the child to cancel the
effects of the illness as the child grows. A result of this would be that people will
be able to live longer and healthier lives. By using this method, there is a possibility
to creating the perfect child as it can possibly alter the behavioral and physical traits
as well. Although there are positive effects there can also be many drawbacks. In a
way eugenics can be compared to
Fasting Feasting By Anita Desai
Anita Desai s novel Fasting, Feasting, is a two part novel set in the 20th century.
The first part is situated in India, while the second is situated in Western
Massachusetts, in the United States. Desai focuses very seriously on the theme of
gender and social roles, particularly referring to female characters. The author
reveals that America s society, in those days, placed gender expectations to its
members, especially regarding to female beauty. The written task intends to show
how and why American women are represented through the character of Mrs
Patton. This is the reason why, in this essay I will analyse the first prescribed
question, How and why is a social group represented in a particular way? , of the
topic Power and Privilege . In the text, Mrs. Patton is the sister of Mrs. O Henry, the
wife of Mr. Patton and the mother of Rod and Melanie. Also, she is the one who
invites Arun to stay with her and her familyin Western Massachusetts. Desai
presented her character in order to portray the stereotypical women of America....

this point it is explicit that women living in America are fascinated with hazardous
grades of thinness and over tanning, which are the ideals of female beauty. It is
revealed that Mrs Patton seeks to keep herself cheerful with the shopping and her sun

also a concern to her children. It is shown that they both deal with the obsession of
thinness, however, they struggle to maintain skinny in different ways. Rod is always

Sexualized Teen Magazines
2.5.1.2Sexualized Teen Magazines Conjointly, teen magazines have gained much
popularity amongst youngsters by providing them with a plethora of information
about romantic relationships, fashion trends, friendships and sex related topics
(Joshi, 2012). Explicit details on sexual activities and the losing of virginity were
often discussed in such magazines (Kopacz, 2006). An analysis of the top four teen
magazines has established that dating and sex were prominent features of the
articles published (Kaiser Family Foundation cited in Johnson, 2015). For example,
sexual wanting occurred in magazines like Seventeen, CosmoGirl!, United States
Edition and Teen and encouraged girls to look more sexually attractive for boys
(Joshi, 2012). On the other hand, male youths were found to be actively looking for
sexual contents from magazines like Playgirl or Playboy, Men s Health and Men s
Fitness which subsequently had an increased influence on their romantic and pre
coital sexual behaviours (Bleakley et al. 2011). Thus, adolescents ... Show more

INFLUENZA Essay
INFLUENZA
Introduction
One can claim that influenza is an infection that has victimized people from just
about every generation that we have known. The term Influenza comes from the
Latin word influentia , first used by the Italians in the 1600 s. It is a highly
contagious infection particulary of the respiratory tract. In addition to us humans,
influenza can occur in pigs, horses, and several other mammals as well as in certain
wild and birds. It can also jump from specie to specie as observed in late 1997
when influenza from chickens was having its effects on people in Hong Kong.
Because influenza is highly contagious and spreads easily, it has appeared in our
history many a times as epidemics. Influenza is caused by an ... Show more content

Hemagglutinin is very important for the virus to bind to animal cells, for example, a
human red blood cell. This causes agglutination which is the clumping of the red
blood cells. Tests based on this simple clumping of the red blood cells is useful to
determine if one has influenza. The neuraminidase is used to cut off the viruses
hemagglutinin receptors when new viruses are produced and start budding off. It also
degrades the mucosal surfaces of the lungs and the throat to prevent being ejected.
This hampers the ability of the antibodies of getting into the lungs.
Spreading Multiplication
As soon as the virus is in the body, it uses the hemagglutinin to bind to the cell
surface. The membranes of the virus and the cell fuse togather and the capsid that
contains the single stranded RNA is released into the cytoplasm. The protein coat of
the virus dissassembles and then starts making viral proteins and viral RNA
copies. The new virus proteins are put togather near the cell membrane and then
bud off from the membrance. Influenza has a rapid onset and pronounced
symptoms. After the influenza virus invades a person s body, an incubation period
of one to two days passes before symptoms appear. For most people flu symptoms
begin to subside after two to three days and disappear in seven to ten days. However,
symptoms like coughing and fatigue may persist for two
Construction Of An Underground Network Of Tunnels
Introduction
In the 1850s over 400,000 tonnes of waste and sewage was being discharged into
the River Thames each day. By 1858 the stench from the raw sewage around and
within the Thames was named the Great Stink . It was a Civil Engineer named
Joseph Bazalgette who proposed a plan of the creation of an underground network of
tunnels, to put an end to the polluted river. His engineering feat has been improved
and extended vastly but the Victorian Sewers still stand as London s primary sewer
system. The sewers were designed to be a combined system meaning rainwater and
waste were transported in the same manner. Bazalgette designed Combined Sewage
Overflow (CSO) points along the Thames. The CSO s discharged the sewage and
rainwater into the Thames after substantial rainfall, this prevented flooding the
streets and houses. When designing the sewers, population increase was taken into
consideration. (16) The underground system and factories were designed to treat
and transfer sewage of up to double the population that was present when
construction began. However the population of London almost quadrupled from
2.35 Million in 1850 (19) to 8.17 million in 2011(7). This drastic increase meant
that the sewers were overloaded. The CSO s were overflowing with only 2mm of
rainfall and on average discharging into the Thames around twice a week. The head
of Thames Water Phil stride, said Currently, 32 million cubic metres of storm sewage
overflows from London s Victorian sewers into
Essay about Infection Control
Nosocomial infections refers to infections acquired during hospitalization, with
symptoms usually occurring within forty eight hours after admission. The origin of
nosocomial infections can be attributed to the following: Bacterial flora already
present in the patient; Microorganisms from the environment through transmission
from: carriers colonized at admission, admitted to wards without undergoing
surveillance, isolation or eradication of the germ(s); patients who have developed the
infection but who have not been isolated;contact with contaminated objects and

The increase in infection related health activity is the result of a gradual increase
in specific risk factors such as antibiotic pressure and the greater complexity of
patients conditions. Despite their strong impact, both socially and economically,
the surveillance systems and programs currently deployed for the prevention of
nosocomial infections are quite dishomogeneous and, in many situations, do not
exist at all. There are two main discriminating factors in this critical situation. The
first relates to the chronic lack of funds for a serious policy of prevention,
particularly in terms of an effective screening process. The second concerns the
lack of accurate knowledge and widespread awareness on the part of health care
operators who are apparently unable to see the problem, in its complexity, as a
factor that impacts on all health care processes, be that at regional or hospital level.
Another crucial element to consider is the emergence of bacterial strains resistant to
antibiotics, given the widespread use of these drugs as a prophylactic or a
therapeutic regimen. Main Body i) How MRSA relates to the disease symptoms Non
specific resistance, to an invading organism, or pathogen, is a defence mechanism the
body employs to protect itself from attack (Tortora and Grabowski 1996).

Examples Of Ethical Organ Donor
All it takes is one checkmark in a box and eight lives could be saved. According to
the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, one organ donor can save up to
eight lives. Currently about 123,000 people are waiting for an organ transplant and
every ten minutes a new name is added to the waiting list. On average, seventy nine
people receive organdonations daily; however, about twenty two people die each
day because of the shortage of organ donors. Donating organs is a lot more than a
check in the box, it could change the way a person lives their life forever. Not to
mention, organ donors do save lives. Even though, there are practiced unethical organ
donor procedures that occur and there is the possibility of a procedure going wrong,

humans trying to take control over the world and protect themselves and limit their
vulnerability to the outside forces. The need of early human society is the same
everywhere. This need of protection eventually evolves down the road to the need
for freedom and escape from pain. The development of central governments would
lead to the formation of divine kings and empires. This growth would unify the
different goals and the needs of the people. However, it would also have a huge

The Yield Spread Of A Corporate Bond And A
Comparable...
2. Literature review
The yield spread is defined as the difference between the yield on a corporate bond
and a comparable government bond. Prior to a study done by Merton (1974) yield
spreads were considered to be mainly driven by expected default losses on corporate
bonds, tax premiums and risk premiums (Radier et al, 2015). However, Merton
(1974) and more recent research has shown that factors such as equity volatility,
liquidity, interest rate levels and the slope of the treasury term structure are also
significant factors in determining changes in the yield spread (Radier et al, 2013;
Lepone Wong, 2009; Peter Grandes, 2007; Collin Dufresne, Goldstein Martin, 2001).
2.1 Equity Volatility
One of the three factors which Merton (1974) found to be a significant determinant
of the yield spread was the probability of default as indicated by the firm specific
equity volatility on the stock market. Merton (1974) predicted a positive relationship
between equity volatility and the yield spread. According to Merton (1974), a short
put option on the equity of a company is equivalent to a corporate bond issued by that
company. This means that any individual corporate bond yield should have a positive
relationship with the equity value of the firm (Jubinski Lipton, 2012).
Radier et al (2015); Hibbert et al (2011); Campbell Taksler (2004) all find evidence
supporting Merton (1974) s prediction of a positive relationship. Radier et al (2015)
is the only one of these studies
Range Of Motion
Range of motion refers to the full potential movement of a joint. This movement
typically comprises the range of flexion and extension along a particular axis.
Limited range of motion is caused by a decline in a joints ability to move like it
should. This is caused by pain, swelling, or stiffness in the jointarea. A goniometer is
a tool that is used by therapists to measure the range of motion of a joint in a client s
body. This is done by the therapist placing the center of the goniometer on the joint
that is being evaluated. Next, the therapist aligns the main arm of the goniometer
with the trunk of the client s body while moving the measuring arm with the client s
arm or leg as they flex or extend their limb.

Recording a client s range of motion is a good way to keep track of what stage of
the recovery process the client may be in. Many times a client will go to an

are available for testing range of motion and other therapy related tests. I learned a

The Pros And Cons Of Adoption
What is Where
Intending to reduce the number of unregistered oversea adoptions for South Korean
children, the fairly recent passing of the Special Adoption Law succeeded with its
intention, bringing an unfortunate by product. The law, a legal framework for
adoption, states that the mothers of the children must wait the length of seven days
before sending their babies into the system. The adoptions must be registered in court
and the births must be as well. It defines oversea adoption as a last resort, only to
occur when the family of the child is unable to care for them of if the child is not
adopted domestically (Jones 2015, para.11). It is a compromise that reads fine;

The Importance Of Residential Schools
The main aim of all the was somehow same as to spread their tradition. The
missionary aim of the Christian tradition was to circulate their tradition all over the
world. They took many steps to spread their tradition. Residential schools is one of
the main example of their mission. Aboriginal people always tried to educate their
children about their tradition and culture. They used to play small dramas in front of
their children so that they gain the knowledge from those dramas. Moreover elder
people of their community taught them about the culture every day.
Christian just want to spread their own culture. They established the residential
schools and told the aboriginal people that these schools are opened to educate their
children and to civilize them and their whole community as well. But this was not the
main motive behind the establishment of this school. They separated the aboriginal
people from their parents and from the culture and community so that they were
totally separated from their culture. It becomes easy for them to educate the
aboriginal people about their culture, tradition, language etc. aboriginal children were
told to replace their traditional clothes with the Christian clothes. They were also told

Pros And Cons Of Niccolo Machiavelli
There is one name that is synonyms with diabolical, cunning, scheming and
unscrupulous politics, Machiavelli. Niccolo Machiavelli was a brilliant intellect of
the Italian Renaissance. He was a Diplomat and Soldier contrasted with a historian,
poet, and dramatist, which are reflected in his writing. He was a patriotic person that
wanted secure Italy, especially Florence, against all enemies and he understood that
many decisions need to make that will produce the best results. Born to Florentine
nobility in 1400; His early career was as a conducting diplomatic mission for
Florence to other Italian cities, France, and Germany. As a diplomat and soldiers,
he was privy to may atrocities and actions that had both positive and negative
results depending on the situation and how they were implemented. Niccolo
Machiavelli aimed The Prince to show how to build up a principality capable of
expelling foreign interest and restoring the independence of Italy. It was a vivid
portrayal of politics in that day and age. It was originally released in 1513 but was
not widely published and distributed until 1532, five years after Niccolo
Machiavelli death. It has both been praised and criticized at various points in
history on the pros and cons of this thesis of political tactics. William Shakespeare
even used Machiavel to emphasize in Henry VI, how evil GLOUCESTER was:
I can add colors to the chameleon, Change spaces with Proteus for advantages, And
set the murderous Machiavel to school
Many counter views have been published over the years. One of the most
comprehensive was the Anti Machiavelli. An 18th century essay by Frederick the
Great, King of Prussia and patron of Voltaire, stated: Machiavel s advice if
followed uncritically be a prince, may lead to real tragedies in the real world .
Richard Christie and Florence L Geis even developed and named a psychological
test to reflect an aspect of a person s character, the Machiavelli test ( MACH IV:
Machiavellianism Test ). This is to test for one of the Dark Triad Personality , the
others being narcissism and psychopathy. The Oxford English Dictionary described
Machiavellian as duplicitous interpersonal style, a cynical disregard for morality, and

Good Debt
Before you take out a loan, you should understand the difference between good debt
and bad debt. Although many people think this is about the kind of credit product
chosen, it is more accurate to think of it as being about the way the money gets used
and the reasons for seeking the loan.
Consumer Debt
Investopedia says consumer debts are Debts that are owed as a result of
purchasing goods that are consumable and/or do not appreciate. This is stuff like
spending on clothes you do not really need or paying for fancy restaurant meals

Mortgages, student loans and business loans are routinely classified as good debts
because they are routinely assumed to be debt that will pay for itself. But this is not
always the case. The housing market is pretty crazy these days and student loans are

You need to understand what you are getting into.
There is no simple formula for deciding which loans are good and which are bad.
Context matters and there can be many factors in life to consider before concluding
that a particular loan is a good idea for you at this time in your life.
You need to not only know the larger landscape of your life, you need to know

you from yourself.

committing the murders. In the line, We all got up to dance / Oh, but we never got
the chance, the writer could be speaking about how the Beatles wrote songs meant
for listening and not dancing. Throughout this verse, the writer talks about, players. I
believe that here he is most likely referring to the many protesters around this time.
He says, sweet perfume, (57) most likely to refer to the use of tear gas against
protestors. He seems to believe that the government is corrupt when he says, Cause
the players tried to take the field (61). Here he means that the protestors tried to create
change but the government would not allow them to make the changes. McLean
continues his allusions to events happening around him and in the past, and he again
ends the verse with his constantly repeated line, The day the music died.
The next verse seems to focus on the events that happened at Altamont in 1969. The
flower children gathered at Altamont, 300,000 strong, in a frenzy of drugs, alcohol
and escalating violence (Fann). McLean is pointing out here that the ideas of the
counterculture are obviously not going to
India s Goals for Conservation
Goal 1 Promote Conservation of Biological Diversity of Ecosystems, Habitats and
Biomes
India s count of the Protected Area Network (PAN) has increased especially post
the Programme of Work on PAs by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD)
in 2004, by a 15 percent. Almost all state owned forests and other important
ecosystems which are outside the PAN were also under some kind of broad based
conservation planning. Fourteen more potential sites were considered to get
designated as Biosphere Reserves. Apart from the Wetlands, Coral reefs and
Mangrove Conservation areas, research and development activities are also being
supported for their management. So far out of the 115 wetlands in India, 25 have
been recognised as Ramsar sites and 6 more are being pushed forward in
consideration for the same. Initiatives for Lake Conservation the MoEF has been
implementing the National Lake Conservation Plan (NLCP) since 2001 for
conservation of polluted and degraded urban/semi urban lakes, leading 10 lake
rejuvenation in terms of improvement in water quality and biodiversity. Forty two
lakes in 12 states have been covered under the plan so far and also under River
Conservation a National River Conservation Plan (NRCP), launched by the MoEF in
1993 has been under implementation in 160 towns along the polluted stretches of 34
rivers spread over 20 states. Since Community Conserved Areas (CCA s) and the
Sacred Groves have been traditionally an important part of a community
My Reflection Of Nature
The main way the readings, reflections, and discussions with classmates has
contributed to my understanding of how to incorporate nature is the variety of
perceptions. I really enjoyed how every individual in the class had their own take
on an issue and a way to connect it to nature. For example, there were at least three
people who decided to focus on the issue of loss and grief for the assignment that
was shared over the camping trip. Even though the topic was discussed by three
people, each person used a different part of nature to depict their unique metaphor.
Another way completing the classwork with peers has contributed to my
understanding of how to incorporate nature is that the information from peers has
displayed to me incorporating nature does not need to be difficult.
Since the beginning of the semester, I was worried about how I would incorporate
nature into the location I am currently at for practicum. Due to the fact that I am a
student, I have to record, which limits my ability to take clients outside. Also,
there is an issue with confidentiality as soon as I walk out the door with one of my
clients. There are a large number of what if s , for example, what if the client and I
bump into the client s peers. These thoughts made adding nature into my practicum
site seem impossible and I was worried about how I was going to role play with a
partner on how to get clients outside.
However, the readings, reflections, as well as class discussions calmed my
Letter From Birmingham City Jail Rhetorical Analysis
Martin Luther King Jr. was an African American Baptist minister who became the
most well known civil rights activist and leader. King Jr. strongly believed in
peaceful protest, choosing to use silent rebellion in favor of violence. During a trip
to Birmingham, Alabama in 1963, for a Christian Leadership Conference, King
was jailed during a peaceful protest for the treatment of blacks. While in jail, King
wrote a letter to fellow clergymen. In his Letter from Birmingham City Jail , Martin
Luther King Jr. used several techniques to appeal to and effectively persuade the
white clergymen he was writing to regarding segregation. King clearly displays the
peacefulness of his protest, the unfairness of unjustified prejudice against blacks,
and reveals examples of brutality against blacks. The primary method King uses in
his letter is the clear demonstration of how peaceful his approach to this issue truly
is. King makes sure to include the words nonviolent and peaceful several times
throughout his letter to ensure that the readers of the letter understand that his
campaign is just that. He also mentions the four basic steps of any nonviolent
campaign, 1) collection of the facts to determine whether injustices are alive; 2)
negotiation; 3) self purification; and 4) direct action (3). King includes the steps of
his campaign in his letter to plainly reveal that it excludes any and all violence or
brutality. He also uses these steps to show that whether or not his fellow
Soccer s Influence On Social Life
I began playing soccer at the age of five years old when I moved to North Carolina.
I joined my first team the same year I started kindergarten and I have not stopped
playing the beautiful game since that day. Soccer has always played an important
role in my life by shaping my social life and my personality.
Soccer has practically controlled my social life for as long as I can remember. It
started with the friends I made playing on a St. Mark little league team in
kindergarten and first grade. Playing for the JETS with people like Matthew Sarno
and Alec Karam who became my best friends and have stuck with me all the way
through high school. Not only them, but many other people I have played with for
many years have become some of my closest
Two Women in Proverbs 9 Essay
Two Women in Proverbs 9 Proverbs has always been one of the most renowned
and loved books of the Bible. According to the prologue, it was written to teach
shrewdness to the simple, knowledge and prudence to the young (1.4), and to let
the wise also hear and gain in learning, and the discerning acquire skill (1.5). It is
primarily addressed to young men, as the author makes frequent references to my
son throughout. The purpose of this book was to help prepare young men for
leadership and life. A proverb, which serves the purpose of drawing a comparison
between two forms of behavior to teach moral wisdom, explicitly fulfills its role in
particularly chapter 9 of Proverbs. In light of this father to son instruction, the... Show

The reward of the assiduous will far exceed that of the indolent in the long run.
Lady Wisdom and Lady Folly not only own their own homes, but they are situated
at the highest places in the town (9.3, 9.14). Because both women dwell at the
promontories of their respective cities, they are able to look out and gain a
perspective that is much broader than those who are standing on level ground.
They have the advantage of being able to observe other people and what they are
doing. By being able to observe others every move, their neighbors are at their most
vulnerable state without even being aware of it themselves. Lady Folly uses her
advantageous location to remember the weaknesses of others that she catches and
files them in her memory storage for later use. While Lady Folly uses young men s
weaknesses by using them against them solely for her own gain, Lady Wisdom
selflessly uses her high promontory for the benefit of others. She uses the information
she learns, to teach others their mistakes and to help them in any way she can. The
speaker is portraying the importance of leadership that instead of being consumed
with their own selves, the young men must also be able to pinpoint others strengths
and weaknesses to help them, not to use against them. The next similarity that these
women share is that they both call out to people, inviting them over to their
respective houses. Lady Folly calls

Organizational behaviors are the actions and attitudes of individuals and groups
toward one another and toward the organization as a whole, and its effect on the
organization s functioning and performance. Organizational studies comprise the
study of organizations form multiple perspectives, methods, and levels of analysis.
Many factors come into play whenever people interact in organizations. Modern
organizational studies have attempted to understand and model these factors.

Communication is the lifeline of all business without effective communication failure
is sure to occur. The organization I worked for was all about communication both
verbal and non verbal. Different business situations and different employee needs
demand the use of multiple communication modes to drive the message home
effectively. By the company, having an understanding of the benefits of various types
of organizational communication it help our management team communicate more
effectively.
Our upper management communicates through nonverbal communication, which
is through emails, text and fax. That can be effective to some because the emails
may not be for all employee s , the text messages can be used to get a message to a
person or persons rapidly and a fax can send information to you that you can get
later if you don t have time to respond right away. As a company overall we saved
money by communicating more through nonverbal communication than we would
have verbally. Money saved by not driving from location to location to speak to a
manager, employee, or corporate office. In that aspect, you saved on gas as well as
wear and tear on company vehicles.
This would be a positive for all anytime you can save to the bottom line of your
organization. There were times verbal communication, was used as well especially
within the lower level of management. Which is
Analysis Of What Dreams May Come
What Dreams May Come Vincent Ward s What Dreams May Come breathed
brilliant life into the tragic story of a family pulled apart by death and the journey
one man makes through heaven and even hell to save his soul mate, based from
the book, What Dreams May Come by Richard Matheson. This movie is boldly
beautiful and a rollercoaster of feelings that brings you to the emotional edge but
sadly doesn t quite get us all the way over. In the beginning of the movies, events
occur rather quickly. Chris and Annie, unbelievably effective and heartbreakingly
performed by Robin Williams and Annabella Sciorra, meet as there boats collide into
each other on a lake; from there the two fall in love, become married and have two
children. The children... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His idea in this particular story is that heaven is built in a state of uncertainty. Those
who are there see and experience that things and people that they wish to see or do.
The meaning behind thus, is that Heaven is becoming who you want to be (Ebert).
As Albert says in the film Hell is a place for those who don t know they are dead.
Souls who do not accept death or unable to comprehend it are those who end up in
hell. In the movie, as Chris travels the road to hell, he sees that the road is paved
with faces who are bitter and damned. Along the way he also hears the voice of his
father who is played by german director Werner Herzog (Ebert).
Even though the film ends in the common obligatory happily ever after fashion to
which doesn t appeal to the rest of the movie, it is nevertheless a fantastic film. It is
truly a wonderful work of art that translates the book in accurate proportions, which
seems to be rare in the hollywood industry. Like other works of Ward s the film ends
with Chris and Anne seeking their destiny. The cathedral in the ending scene, similar
to the other awing images in the film, is breathtaking, however it is upside down. The
film wonderfully explores the ideas of destiny, death, human perception, man s
wisdom and nature. The digital artwork and incredibly touching performances;

The search results were somehow limited. It was apparent that my search was not
providing me with relevant data, so I then changed my keyword to handwashing
where I found 3,087 Literature Search Paper 3 articles. Again, the search was very
limited. Realizing the need to narrow the search, I then used the CINAHL Subject
Headings as a component for my search. Subject Heading Search Keeping note that
the keyword retrieval left me with 3,087 articles, I then used CINAHL Headings
for my search. The CINAHL Heading search allows the search of literature with
certain terms desired in the references. By typing hand washing under the
CINAHL Heading and browsed, I was given terms that were related to hand
washing. The terms were ranked based on the relevancy of importance related to
the subject. Handwashing was the first term found and by clicking on its link, I was
taken to a term detailed screen. Listed was handwashing under the Tree View terms,
which are hierarchy groupings of subject headings. The subheadings were also found
here. I chose handwashing and infection control. By clicking on the subheadings and
the Explode link, I then gained access to articles that contained terms about
handwashing or infection control. The Explode link is thought of as an operators of

Different Security Policies And Guideline And How They
Are...
In this report I will be talking about different security policies and guideline and
how they are needed in an organisation. The first one I will be talking about will be
the disaster recovery policy, what this policy is basically about is that the
organization will have so kind of plan or strategy put in place for things like natural
disasters for example floods, fire, earthquake and things like theft and major human
error that can cause major data loss, which and ultimately impact the organization
securityand the functions the organization provides. What this disaster recoverypolicy
might have in it is if a natural disaster or a virus enters the organization one police
can be to basically move all the data to an off site location... Show more content on
Helpwriting.net ...
This disaster recovery will have major benefits as if things happen it will not affect
the organisation that much but if a disaster recovery plan is not but in place it
could shut down the business. The advantages of the disaster recovery policy is
that it reduce the loss of data because the organisation back up there data early so if
a disaster occurs no data will be lost. Another thing is an organisation can use an
offsite place to back up data. The disadvantages of the disaster recovery plan policy
is that when the organisation is having daily backups it is costing the company a lot
of money to have them in place , as it will always need someone to look and
maintain this recovery plan. Another disadvantage is that when the backups are
happening it can ultimately slow down the system and affect the employees work as
it will take more time to do their tasks.
The next policy I will be talking about I will be explaining is code of conduct this
is a very important guideline in an organization that all the workers has to obliged to
the guideline, to try and improve the organization security, there are many policies
put in place by the organization so the employees follow the code of conduct
guideline one policy is installation this policy is about that employees can t install
software on the organization s computer, they are not allowed to install it
My Pharmacy Career
My time spent interning at the UVM hospital pharmacy has helped me grow with
the career I want to pursue. Going into the class I was interested in healthcare that
would provide a comfortable living for myself. During my job shadow I learned
how being a teammate is very important the being a pharmacist. The team consists
of doctors, nurses, technicians and the patients. The comradery of each other helps
with the job. This is helpful for me because I want to be in a career I am
comfortable with. I have been playing multiple team sports since I could walk. It s
part of my life to understand how a team works. The time spent talking to the
pharmacists in the chemotherapy wing helped by understand where I want to be in
the pharmacycareer. Retail is for the person that has social skills and economical
skills along with the skills of being organized. Working at a hospital is more
working behind the scenes . It possesses similar skills but the environment to
applying them is different. It has helped me determine that I want to get my MBA
throughout sometime in my career. I heard that some people got their MBA as
they got their doctor of pharmacy but that is very ambitious. I think that I want to
get my doctor of pharmacy and then wherever I am working might be able to pay for
my education to get an MBA. I like how there are always a job for pharmacist, also
jobs anywhere. That helps because I don t want to be restricted to a career where I
can only work in certain parts of the
Analysis Of Les Miserables
Les Miserables is by far one of my favorite stories/ movies. There are so many
underlying views though out. The original author of Les Miserables was Victor
Hugo. Victor Hugo himself is a very interesting gentleman that lived in a very
complicated time period with lots of political issues, which I believe come out in this
movie.
Jean Valjean, is who Hugo chose as the hero of Les Miserables ultimately. However,
in the beginning it starts out by portraying him as a bad guy and someone who
focuses on his hate. His hate is directed at Inspector Javert, the officer who sentences
him to his prison term, which was hard labor. Jean Valjean s hatred for him, the
inspector, and his vengeance tends to only fester throughout the movie.
Once paroled, Jean Valjean discovers the bishop of Digne along his path. The
bishop takes him in and gives him a place to stay along food. Jean Valjean decides
to steal the bishops silverware. When the bishop discovers that Jean Valjean has
stolen his silver he shows him mercy and tells him kindly, Jean Valjean, my brother,
you no longer belong to what is evil, but to what is good. I have bought your soul to
save it from black thoughts and the spirit of perdition, and I give it to God . This
explains the importance of forgiveness and ultimately helps Jean Valjean understand
that taking vengeance upon Javert, the inspector that sentenced him to hard labor, is
not the answer.
The movie shows Jean Valjean s life from a sinner basically being redeemed by
The Tragedy Of Antigone By William Shakespeare
In life, we tend to see things in a black and white manner; good vs. bad. However,
there is often a gray area that goes unexplored. Antigone manages to venture into
this gray area through a complicated conflict of values. Kreon, the ruler of Thebes,
has declared the leader of a rebellion against the state must not be buried. This
conflicts with the leaders sister, Antigone, as she feels compelled to bury him.
This conflict of values was expressed by German philosopher Hegel when he said
At the center of Antigone we find not a tragic hero but a tragic collision. However,
the conflict is not between good and evil but between one sided positions each of
which embodies some good. The result of this gray area is the creation of two
separate themes, government vs. family, and man vs. the gods. Antigone represents
both family and the gods due to her fierce loyalty to each, while Kreon represents
government and man. Neither side is necessarily wrong, but it is the stubbornness
and pride within them that leads to tragedy. On the surface, Kreon is a villain. He is
unbending and kills a woman whose crime was loving her brother. However, further
analysis reveals it is not so simple. Kreon is not inherently evil; it is instead his
character flaws that create the perception he is a villain. Throughout the play he
stresses practical judgment, unbeknownst to the irony within his own words. Kreon
believes by sentencing Antigone to death he is asserting himself, and that it is
important
Disadvantages Of Medicinal Plants
In recent decades there has been increased public interest in prevention, control and
treatment of diseases by medicinal plants. However, providing the required resources
from wild growing species couldn t always meet the demand. Anthropogenic
interferences with natural habitats and ecosystems, and threats posed by humans to
comply the demand make many medicinal plants endangered. Cultivation of
medicinal plants to provide needed plantmaterials is one of the strategies to conserve
the plants and avoid depletion of wild resources. Furthermore, using cultivated
plants material instead of wild collected ones has some other advantages such as
precise control of growing condition, harvesting at right time, and reduction the
possibility of adulteration. However, it should be considered chemical constituents
may vary between cultivars and wild grown ones by type or amount and then their
biologic effects may differ from each other. Several studies have compared cultivated
and wild grown species especially from the point of view of essential oilcomposition
and then similarities and differences between samples have been reported (1 6). As an

Extraction and fractionation
The dried powdered fruits (250g) also were subjected to extraction using methanol
(5Г—1.5L) at room temperature. The resulting total extracts were concentrated under
vacuum by means of a rotary evaporator at 40ВєC, the resultant concentrated extracts
were lyophilized by freeze dryer at 40ВєC for 24h (Lyotrap Ultra, LTE Scientific
Ltd., Oldham, UK). A portion of dried extracts were fractionated using solid liquid
fractionation method with appropriate volumes of petroleum ether and ethylacetate.

Cultural Diffusion Essay

  • 1. Cultural Diffusion Essay Writing an essay on cultural diffusion can be both intriguing and challenging. At its core, the topic delves into the complex interplay of cultures, exploring how ideas, customs, and technologies spread and interact across different societies. While the concept itself is fascinating, crafting a comprehensive essay requires thorough research, critical analysis, and a nuanced understanding of various cultural dynamics. One of the primary challenges lies in navigating the vast amount of information available. Cultural diffusion is a broad and multifaceted phenomenon, encompassing historical, anthropological, sociological, and even economic perspectives. To write a compelling essay, one must sift through diverse sources, ranging from academic journals and books to cultural artifacts and contemporary media. Moreover, capturing the nuances of cultural exchange demands sensitivity and cultural competence. It's essential to avoid oversimplification or cultural appropriation while discussing the diffusion process. Instead, the essay should strive to present a balanced portrayal of how cultural elements spread, adapt, and influence one another, acknowledging both the benefits and challenges that arise from such interactions. Furthermore, addressing the complexities of cultural diffusion requires a coherent structure and clear argumentation. Organizing the essay around key themes or case studies can help provide focus and coherence to the discussion. However, synthesizing diverse perspectives and weaving them into a cohesive narrative can be demanding, requiring analytical rigor and effective communication skills. In conclusion, while writing an essay on cultural diffusion presents significant challenges, it also offers a rewarding opportunity to explore the rich tapestry of human interaction and exchange. By engaging with this topic thoughtfully and critically, one can gain valuable insights into the dynamic nature of cultures and the ways they shape our world. • 2. Women In Medieval Time Period The medieval britain time period was the start of the noticeability for women. Women were beginning to rise in control in this time period. They were gaining more respect and honor than previous time periods, whereas women were only known to keep the house and children. However, women were also known for their seductiveness in this time period. They also were more loved for their virtues rather than their prettiness. Women in the medieval time period were being put in more higher places and were being on more power. In the medieval time period women were increasingly becoming more noticed as well as being put in high places. Before the twelfth century there was no place for women to reign as queens. Only after the death of a king did a queen hold the royal chair for but a brief time until either a husband was suitable for the royal crown or a son who was not old enough yet reached the appropriate age to rule in government with his mother. However, there were three daughters of kings Alfonso VI of Castile, Baldwin II of Jerusalem, and Henry I of England forced the problem of female succession after failure of male heirs to be acknowledged. Urraca utilized full authority instantly after Alfonso VI s death. She was unquestionably the ruler of the royal chair in her own right for a time. Melisende never ruled the royal chair completely on her own, however, her husband Count Fulk of Anjou was not formally affiliated with her at first during the time of Baldwin II was still
  • 3. What Practices Can Help Retain These Mature Workers (... Discussion Questions 1.What practices will help retain these mature workers (Veterans and Baby Boomers)? The Society for Human Resource Management article discusses the challenge many companies face of finding qualified workers and the importance of engaging and retaining mature workers to help meet that challenge. A recent Gallup poll found that Traditionalists and Baby Boomers are actually more engaged while at work than their younger counter parts Gen x and Gen Y (Gallup, 2013). While their engagement percentage is higher, we shouldn t get too encouraged by that; it is still a shockingly low number: 42% of Traditionalists and 32% of Baby Boomers (Gallup, 2013). That means the remaining 58% and 68% respectively could either decide to retire or could be adding more value. Many mature employees would stay with their companies longer if there were more flexible retirement plans (Gibaldi, n.d.). These employees, especially Boomers, are still driven to contribute and offer their expertise, but also want time to spend with their families, pursue their interests, and travel (Gibaldi, n.d.). Most of those mature employees that want to continue to work, prefer to do so on a part time basis (Tacchino, 2013). There are a variety of ways to allow wisdom workers to phase their retirement (Gornick, 2005): Allow them to work part time hours; Reduce their work schedule from 5 days to 2 or 3; Hire them as contractors to assist on special projects; Limit their work

It was an American sports film directed by Daniel Anspaugh in 1993. It was based on a true story of Daniel Rudy Ruetigger who had always dreamt of playing football at the University of Notre Dame. Through Rudy s life, he had always been told that pursuing his dream of playing in the Notre Dame football team would only cause him disappointment. However, evident through the entire movie, Rudy s full desire helped him to overcome any struggles that came into his way. He faced all the challenges that he encountered and achieved his goal. Being able to get in the university was one thing, achieveing his goal to be part of the football team was much more. Therefore, he always made sure that he gave his one hundred and twenty percent during training in football even though he kept on getting trampled. His hard work paid off when he got the good news, he was accepted as one of the players for the Notre Dame football team. The team saw Rudy s passion and tenacity that inspired them their coach called this an extraordinary heart. However, it came to the point that he gave up and quitted in frustration because Coach Dan Devine, who was their new coach never let him address, even once. Though, with his heart to heart talk with Fortune, the man who helped him to get a job, he was enlightened. Fortune told him that he was also once a player but he quitted and regretted it every day. He said to Rudy, In this life time you don t have to prove nothing to nobody except yourself. At the end, Rudy came back and was able to play during the fourth quarter. The Notre Dame football team won and, finally Rudy and his family could not get any happier. In the movie, Rudy, it was shown how people should never give up no matter how hard the struggles are. Just as what Rudy did, he never gave up even he was having a hard time with his family not supporting him , his low academic grades and the discrimination from his coach. With his passion and perseverance, Rudy succeeded and became the last player who has been carried off the stadium since
  • 5. Mtv Networks And The Middle East Abstract Since 1981, MTV Networks (MTVN) has developed a reputation for its ability to provide localized content without compromising the MTV culture. However, the company faced challenges in late 2007 with its launch of MTV Arabia in the Middle East, making it one of the biggest launches in channel history. While the market in the Middle East offered MTV with lucrative business opportunities, the networks controversial content could potentially backfire in the conservative environment prevalent in the region. On the other hand, too much localization to suit the tastes of the region could dilute MTV s global brand. This paper will discuss MTVN s challenges, strategy and effectiveness in expanding in the Middle East. Introduction With a growing gross domestic product (GDP) of Arabia, suggesting a lucrative market, MTVN joined forces with the largest media group in the UAE, Arabia Media Group, to launch the Arabic version of MTV as MTV Arabia in 2007. MTVN would be set to compete with approximately 370 other 24 hour free satellite channels in the growing market of $3 billion. Before launching, MTV needed to understand the cultural profile of the Arab world one that consists of over 20 countries stretching from Morocco, across Northern Africa, to the Persian Gulf. These countries are religiously and ethnically diverse with a multitude of ethnic, religious and linguistic groups. To be an Arab is a cultural trait rather than a racial one and Arab history and culture are based
  • 6. Argumentative Essay On Baroque Music Baroque Music The word Baroque was derived from the word barroco, which is used to mean the period in which western region widely used music especially in the nineteenth century to express how the European artist practiced the art. When the historical happenings of the music in well explored, the critics who applied the musical knowledge made it look strange and majorly sounded exaggerated. Furthermore, ornamentals were initially used during the era of Bash and Handel. After the brand of music had shed the connotations that were derogatory, baroques became one of the mot simplest and convenient in the brand and one of the richest term, which in the diverse period was included the musical history. The needs of the institution in which the work was done dictated entirely which type of music that would be written by the composers. Isolation and Identification of Thermophilic Fungi We isolated thirty thermophilic fungi with ability to grow at 45 В°C on medium containing wheat bran and casein as carbon sources and produced proteases in both SSF and SmF (data not shown). The fungus strain F.2.1.4 presented the highest protease activity and was sub jected to taxonomic characterization. Analyses of macro and micro morphological characteristics accommodated the isolate F.2.1.4 in the genus Myceliophthora due to the presence of spreading colonies with dense aerial mycelium and blastic conidia often borne in ampulliform swellings (Van Oorschot, 1980). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alkaline proteases have many applications in the industry such as laundry detergents, leather processing, brewing, food and pharmaceutical industries therefore the alkalophilic properties exhibited by proteases from Myceliophthora sp. in SSF are an important aspect to be explored. The maximum activity for both crude enzymes was 50ВєC but the crude enzyme from SSF maintained 95% of the maximum activity at 60ВєC while for the protease from SmF the activity was 79% (Figure 3b). This property is consistent with the dates reported for extracellular enzymes from thermophiilic fungi. Similar results were reported for proteases from Thermoascus aurantiacus var levisporus (55oC) (Marcy et al., 1984). Proteases from thermophilic Scytalidium (Hasbay and Г–gel, 2002) and from thermotolerant Aspergillus fumigatus (Santos et al., 1996) showed optima activities at 45 oC. Since the protease activity was higher in crude enzyme solution from SSF and addi tionally, it showed alkaline optimum pH and activity at higher temperature range (50 65 ВєC), it was used for the immobilization procedure. Entrapment of the protease in calcium alginate beads Among the quantities of sodium alginate (2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 % (w/v)) and CaCl2 concentrations (0.04, 0.06, 0.08, 0.1 M), the best condition for immobilization of the protease was 2.5 % alginate and 0.08 mM CaCl2 (data not shown), obtaining 2 mm (average diameter) beads. One type of cost is called fixed cost. This type of cost is the expense of a business that does not change and are always constant in a business. When money is made, debts are the first initiative to be paid off. Fixed costs include rent, wages to employees, and equipment needed to produce you good and or service. In for example a Flower shop, the fixed costs would be the rent on the building, the payment of the delivery vans, and employee salaries. The other type of costs is called variable cost. This type of cost is one that is ever changing. Again in a Flower shop the variable costs would be a dozen roses. One week a dozen roses may cost the flower shop five dollars to buy them and then they sell them for forty five dollars. Then the next week the price of the roses my rise by five dollars now costing the flower shop ten so in order for the florist to make the same amount of money as last week he needs to increase his price to the consumer with the increase on price he is paying. The basic main idea of cost is to keep it as low as possible to gain the highest profits. Determining the profit of a business is another major part of management. Profit is the total income that you receive after paying all of your debts. All debts include for example rent, wages, and interest. A general formula to calculate profit is P = R C. This says when total revenue is subtracted from

I remember when he leaves the country, but not more than when he arrived home. Usually, when he came back home, he usually bring with him some gifts for me and my mother, and he never forgets to bring me my favorite gift which I still love when he give away to me. I like to call it as the GodВґs dessert because of its curious shape of production, intense flavor, and delightful meaning. Thinking in this product makes me want to have some of it. The first impression people might have when they see this dessert is that it might be an expensive and luxurious product because of its embellished packaging. It can be identified by the cute design of the box due to the fact that on the left of the box there is a sumptuous ribbon that its background color is a combination between dark cinnamon and lightly caramel, furthermore, the ribbon has the brandВґs name sketched all around it. The theme color of the whole box is pearly white what makes the letters of the brand, written on the top of the box, stand out in a bright gold. Moreover, bellow the ribbon there is a little description in French about the glamorous product and next to it a small window made of transparent plastic where the small pieces of the product are shown to the public. The most interesting thing comes after its purchase. I start feeling the anxiety when it is time to open this fancy box because as
  • 10. Palm Oil Growth And Sustainability Palm Oil Growth in Peru Slows as Land Suitability and Sustainability Take Top Priority Palm is a tree crop suited to cultivation in climatic conditions similar to those of the tropical rainforest. From 1999 to 2009, global production more than doubled. Thirty years ago, palm oil accounted for less than 2 percent but now accounts for 37 percent of vegetable oil consumption worldwide, and palm has displaced soy as the world s most important vegetable oil. Palm oil is used as a biofuel, for cooking, and in a wide range of other items, including food products, cosmetics, soaps and detergents. Malaysia and Indonesia produce 85 percent of the world s palm oil. Expansion in these two countries is expected to diminish by 2022, however, as land suitable for additional palm oil production dwindles. As an alternative, developers are looking to other regions for expansion, including Latin America. Estimates suggest that Peru has the second largest area potentially suitable for increased oil palm production within this region. Area Expansion In 2003, the Peruvian government announced that the production of biofuels, including palm oil, would be a priority. Before 2006, palm expansion in Peru was slow and occurred mainly on already cleared land (mostly pastures and secondary growth forests, as opposed to old growth forests.) Between 2006 and 2010, however, area doubled, and about 70 percent of all new palm plantations during this time were established by old growth clearing.

WW 1 left causes leading to WW 2, like, Treaty of Versailles and the search for thorough ideas, such as Fascism, communism and militarism. It was due to the terrible conditions of different countries after the wars. I think that World War II was a continuation of World War I . Many people can say that these two wars are the same, and that World War II was a continuation of World War I. World War I had a foundation built of imperialism, militarism, and nationalism. This war took place overseas in Europe. World War I took flight once the Archduke Ferdinand was assassinated in Bosnia. Bosnia Wanted to be independent from Austria. There were two groups in this war, there was the Central Powers (Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Italy) and the Allied Forces (France, Russia, and Great Britain), and But the United States was trying to stay neutral. • 14. The Romantic Tale Of Two Star Crossed Lovers This film focuses on the romantic tale of two star crossed lovers who become tangled in a dangerous dilemma, of course, all while singing catchy show tunes. However, underlying most of the romantic overtures and happenings is something fundamental: the desire for sex. In the film, this need can be easily explored and satisfied through prostitution. By exploring both sides of the prostitution dynamic (the prostitute and the client), the motivations for engaging in this business will emerge as unique and different for each side. To help prime the later discussion of the individual influences, it would be useful to understand the history from which prostitution emerges and the manner in which the nature of the work is portrayed in the film. Prostitution is defined as the act or practice of engaging in sexual activity for money or its equivalent (as cited in Salmon, 2008). This practice goes back thousands of years and was present in many cultures, however, it was around the Middle Ages when the Church s attitude shifted towards perceiving the act as evil (Salmon, 2008). Though it was seen as an evil, it was kept around because of its perceived utility towards helping young unmarried men and was subsequently housed in brothels (Salmon, 2008). This is the environment we find the characters of the film, a 1900 Paris brothel located in the district of Montmartre. The notion that prostitution is regarded as a social ill in this environment is supported by the warning

Like a dirty blanket, the stench hung in the air, invading the senses in an unavoidable and persistent manner. She pulled the loose flap of her hood over her nose and mouth in a feeble attempt to keep it out of her lungs. As designers seek a muse in their local cultures, backpedaling into a nation s history for inspiration has become a key rhetoric in the fashion industry. For many leading labels certain time frames and sociopolitical atmospheres prove to play a role in the creative and economic process of the world of fashion, and the eclectic nature of fashion design demonstrate a confluence between nation, nostalgia, and fashion (Best, 2017). Seeking the transhistorical reconstruction of a past time, the concept of restorative nostalgia finds itself interconnected in the realm of fashion creativity. Focussing on the modern construction of the Russian nation, this paper will address the role of restorative nostalgia in the Russian fashion industry, how designers use nostalgia as a creative tool in fashion and the phenomena of the post Soviet aesthetic, as well as the capacity of rootless Soviet nostalgia among Russias youth and its impact on the consumption of post Soviet fashions today. Often resulting from the frustration Russia experienced after the fall of the Soviet Union, nostalgia for a USSR past reminds us of the important changes that followed Soviet dissolution, including the elimination in Russia of widespread political and socioeconomic regulation of society. But echoes of the Soviet past, including crackdowns on dissent, now seem more pronounced (White, 2010). As post Soviet Russia, through time and western

Lucent Technologies Supply Chain Of Asia Lucent Technologies supply chain in Asia had many issues back in1996 and once it became independent from AT T; some of which were long lead times, high cost, high inventories, poor technical support for local Asian operations and its customers. This was a consequence of the historical supply of Asia from the United States. The establishment of local Asian facilities was only as an entry mean to the Asian market. Even though the facilities provided some high level assembly and test, the supply chain was organized and centered on the U.S. leading to the problems mentioned earlier. A change was required and thus a supply chain redesign was completed in 1996, providing more Asian content. The change had a successful payback; however, developing changes in the marketplace, in suppliers, and in the manufacturing environment suggested that the supply chain was no longer optimal. At the start, forming the four joint ventures in Asia (Taiwan, Indonesia, China, and India) was only an entry vehicle for Lucent into the Asian market and not part of a manufacturing strategy. Nevertheless, Lucent had its share in the Asian market, was able to manage its business there successfully, and did not have much of challenges. The first example was found in scene 1 when Balthasar brought Romeo news about Juliet. Romeo first asks How doth my lady? Is my father well? /How doth my Juliet? That I ask again, /For nothing can be ill if she be well. (5.1.15 17). Then Balthasar responds with Then she is well and nothing can be ill. (5.1.18). The verbal irony is that Juliet is as well as she can ever be even though she is dead. Because she is dead, she cannot deal with tragedy or illness again, so she is technically as well as possible. Another example of verbal irony is seen again after Romeo purchases poison from the apothecary. A way to prevent genetic illness is when the doctor injects an artificial human chromosome into the fertilized egg, which will cause the child to cancel the effects of the illness as the child grows. By 1858 the stench from the raw sewage around and within the Thames was named the Great Stink . It was a Civil Engineer named Joseph Bazalgette who proposed a plan of the creation of an underground network of tunnels, to put an end to the polluted river. His engineering feat has been improved and extended vastly but the Victorian Sewers still stand as London s primary sewer system. The sewers were designed to be a combined system meaning rainwater and waste were transported in the same manner. Bazalgette designed Combined Sewage Overflow (CSO) points along the Thames. The CSO s discharged the sewage and rainwater into the Thames after substantial rainfall, this prevented flooding the streets and houses. When designing the sewers, population increase was taken into consideration. (16) The underground system and factories were designed to treat and transfer sewage of up to double the population that was present when construction began. However the population of London almost quadrupled from 2.35 Million in 1850 (19) to 8.17 million in 2011(7). This drastic increase meant that the sewers were overloaded. Despite their strong impact, both socially and economically, the surveillance systems and programs currently deployed for the prevention of nosocomial infections are quite dishomogeneous and, in many situations, do not exist at all. There are two main discriminating factors in this critical situation. The first relates to the chronic lack of funds for a serious policy of prevention, particularly in terms of an effective screening process. The second concerns the lack of accurate knowledge and widespread awareness on the part of health care operators who are apparently unable to see the problem, in its complexity, as a factor that impacts on all health care processes, be that at regional or hospital level. • 33. The Yield Spread Of A Corporate Bond And A Comparable... 2. Literature review The yield spread is defined as the difference between the yield on a corporate bond and a comparable government bond. Prior to a study done by Merton (1974) yield spreads were considered to be mainly driven by expected default losses on corporate bonds, tax premiums and risk premiums (Radier et al, 2015). However, Merton (1974) and more recent research has shown that factors such as equity volatility, liquidity, interest rate levels and the slope of the treasury term structure are also significant factors in determining changes in the yield spread (Radier et al, 2013; Lepone Wong, 2009; Peter Grandes, 2007; Collin Dufresne, Goldstein Martin, 2001). 2.1 Equity Volatility One of the three factors which Merton (1974) found to be a significant determinant of the yield spread was the probability of default as indicated by the firm specific equity volatility on the stock market. Merton (1974) predicted a positive relationship between equity volatility and the yield spread. According to Merton (1974), a short put option on the equity of a company is equivalent to a corporate bond issued by that company. This means that any individual corporate bond yield should have a positive relationship with the equity value of the firm (Jubinski Lipton, 2012). Radier et al (2015); Hibbert et al (2011); Campbell Taksler (2004) all find evidence supporting Merton (1974) s prediction of a positive relationship. The Pros And Cons Of Adoption What is Where Intending to reduce the number of unregistered oversea adoptions for South Korean children, the fairly recent passing of the Special Adoption Law succeeded with its intention, bringing an unfortunate by product. The law, a legal framework for adoption, states that the mothers of the children must wait the length of seven days before sending their babies into the system. The adoptions must be registered in court and the births must be as well. It defines oversea adoption as a last resort, only to occur when the family of the child is unable to care for them of if the child is not adopted domestically (Jones 2015, para.11). It is a compromise that reads fine; however with the passing of the law, an unexpected after effect was produced: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Their argument is that the country is to be brought in line with the international adoption standards which require birth registration, as anonymous adoption compromised the rights of children (Boroweic 2013, para.8). When a person does not have a birth registration, they do not legally exist and therefore can be subjected to human trafficking and/or be illegally sold (McDonald 2015, para. 8). [Transition word] the Child Protection System was abandoned by the government, saying it was the responsibility of local government. As quoted by a Ministry of Health and Welfare official, Starting in 2005, child social welfare projects that had been supported from the national budgets were turned over to local governments to be run autonomously (Hyo Jin 2013, para. 19). The missionary aim of the Christian tradition was to circulate their tradition all over the world. They took many steps to spread their tradition. Residential schools is one of the main example of their mission. Aboriginal people always tried to educate their children about their tradition and culture. They used to play small dramas in front of their children so that they gain the knowledge from those dramas. Moreover elder people of their community taught them about the culture every day. Christian just want to spread their own culture. They established the residential schools and told the aboriginal people that these schools are opened to educate their children and to civilize them and their whole community as well. But this was not the main motive behind the establishment of this school. They separated the aboriginal people from their parents and from the culture and community so that they were totally separated from their culture. Although many people think this is about the kind of credit product chosen, it is more accurate to think of it as being about the way the money gets used and the reasons for seeking the loan. • 41. My Reflection Of Nature The main way the readings, reflections, and discussions with classmates has contributed to my understanding of how to incorporate nature is the variety of perceptions. I really enjoyed how every individual in the class had their own take on an issue and a way to connect it to nature. For example, there were at least three people who decided to focus on the issue of loss and grief for the assignment that was shared over the camping trip. Even though the topic was discussed by three people, each person used a different part of nature to depict their unique metaphor. Another way completing the classwork with peers has contributed to my understanding of how to incorporate nature is that the information from peers has displayed to me incorporating nature does not need to be difficult. Since the beginning of the semester, I was worried about how I would incorporate nature into the location I am currently at for practicum. Due to the fact that I am a student, I have to record, which limits my ability to take clients outside. Also, there is an issue with confidentiality as soon as I walk out the door with one of my clients. There are a large number of what if s , for example, what if the client and I bump into the client s peers. These thoughts made adding nature into my practicum site seem impossible and I was worried about how I was going to role play with a partner on how to get clients outside. However, the readings, reflections, as well as class discussions calmed my

King Jr. strongly believed in peaceful protest, choosing to use silent rebellion in favor of violence. During a trip to Birmingham, Alabama in 1963, for a Christian Leadership Conference, King was jailed during a peaceful protest for the treatment of blacks. While in jail, King wrote a letter to fellow clergymen. In his Letter from Birmingham City Jail , Martin Luther King Jr. used several techniques to appeal to and effectively persuade the white clergymen he was writing to regarding segregation. King clearly displays the peacefulness of his protest, the unfairness of unjustified prejudice against blacks, and reveals examples of brutality against blacks. The primary method King uses in his letter is the clear demonstration of how peaceful his approach to this issue truly is. King makes sure to include the words nonviolent and peaceful several times throughout his letter to ensure that the readers of the letter understand that his campaign is just that. He also mentions the four basic steps of any nonviolent campaign, 1) collection of the facts to determine whether injustices are alive; 2) negotiation; 3) self purification; and 4) direct action (3). King includes the steps of his campaign in his letter to plainly reveal that it excludes any and all violence or brutality. He also uses these steps to show that whether or not his fellow

Because both women dwell at the promontories of their respective cities, they are able to look out and gain a perspective that is much broader than those who are standing on level ground. They have the advantage of being able to observe other people and what they are doing. By being able to observe others every move, their neighbors are at their most vulnerable state without even being aware of it themselves. Lady Folly uses her advantageous location to remember the weaknesses of others that she catches and files them in her memory storage for later use. While Lady Folly uses young men s weaknesses by using them against them solely for her own gain, Lady Wisdom selflessly uses her high promontory for the benefit of others. She uses the information she learns, to teach others their mistakes and to help them in any way she can. The speaker is portraying the importance of leadership that instead of being consumed with their own selves, the young men must also be able to pinpoint others strengths and weaknesses to help them, not to use against them. The next similarity that these women share is that they both call out to people, inviting them over to their respective houses. Lady Folly calls

The first one I will be talking about will be the disaster recovery policy, what this policy is basically about is that the organization will have so kind of plan or strategy put in place for things like natural disasters for example floods, fire, earthquake and things like theft and major human error that can cause major data loss, which and ultimately impact the organization securityand the functions the organization provides. What this disaster recoverypolicy might have in it is if a natural disaster or a virus enters the organization one police can be to basically move all the data to an off site location... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This disaster recovery will have major benefits as if things happen it will not affect the organisation that much but if a disaster recovery plan is not but in place it could shut down the business. The advantages of the disaster recovery policy is that it reduce the loss of data because the organisation back up there data early so if a disaster occurs no data will be lost. Another thing is an organisation can use an offsite place to back up data. The disadvantages of the disaster recovery plan policy is that when the organisation is having daily backups it is costing the company a lot of money to have them in place , as it will always need someone to look and maintain this recovery plan. Another disadvantage is that when the backups are happening it can ultimately slow down the system and affect the employees work as it will take more time to do their tasks. Victor Hugo himself is a very interesting gentleman that lived in a very complicated time period with lots of political issues, which I believe come out in this movie. Jean Valjean, is who Hugo chose as the hero of Les Miserables ultimately. However, in the beginning it starts out by portraying him as a bad guy and someone who focuses on his hate. His hate is directed at Inspector Javert, the officer who sentences him to his prison term, which was hard labor. Jean Valjean s hatred for him, the inspector, and his vengeance tends to only fester throughout the movie. Once paroled, Jean Valjean discovers the bishop of Digne along his path. The bishop takes him in and gives him a place to stay along food. Jean Valjean decides to steal the bishops silverware. When the bishop discovers that Jean Valjean has stolen his silver he shows him mercy and tells him kindly, Jean Valjean, my brother, you no longer belong to what is evil, but to what is good. I have bought your soul to save it from black thoughts and the spirit of perdition, and I give it to God . This explains the importance of forgiveness and ultimately helps Jean Valjean understand that taking vengeance upon Javert, the inspector that sentenced him to hard labor, is not the answer. The movie shows Jean Valjean s life from a sinner basically being redeemed by
  • 51. The Tragedy Of Antigone By William Shakespeare In life, we tend to see things in a black and white manner; good vs. bad. However, there is often a gray area that goes unexplored. Antigone manages to venture into this gray area through a complicated conflict of values. Kreon, the ruler of Thebes, has declared the leader of a rebellion against the state must not be buried. This conflicts with the leaders sister, Antigone, as she feels compelled to bury him. This conflict of values was expressed by German philosopher Hegel when he said At the center of Antigone we find not a tragic hero but a tragic collision. However, the conflict is not between good and evil but between one sided positions each of which embodies some good. The result of this gray area is the creation of two separate themes, government vs. family, and man vs. the gods. Antigone represents both family and the gods due to her fierce loyalty to each, while Kreon represents government and man. Neither side is necessarily wrong, but it is the stubbornness and pride within them that leads to tragedy. On the surface, Kreon is a villain. He is unbending and kills a woman whose crime was loving her brother. However, further analysis reveals it is not so simple. Kreon is not inherently evil; it is instead his character flaws that create the perception he is a villain. Throughout the play he stresses practical judgment, unbeknownst to the irony within his own words. Kreon believes by sentencing Antigone to death he is asserting himself, and that it is important
