The Truman Show Analysis
Exploring Media Impact in The Truman Show
Watching The Truman Show, one can easily begin to notice underlying social issues
portrayed throughout this film. Social constructions are obvious throughout the
environment of the film. Habitualization and internalization become relevant theories
when observing the audience who play a large role in the movie. Focusing on
theorists Berger and Luckmann, this review will critically analyze this theory of
social construction, focusing on the impact media has in this film and universally in
the United States of America.
Media as a Social Problem
Media is everywhere, a social aspect so critical to the economics of the United
States often we do not even notice it s constant presence. Advertisement is
unescapable, thus can be a dangerous weapon. Looking at the media in the United
States, one can be certain that current trends and standards are used as marketing
tools to suggest whatever is being sold or reported on adds value to your life.
Children grow up with false ideals of beauty, success, love, and happiness as a
response to the overflow of product placement and media coverage in the country.
From a very young age people begin to internalize these social constructions blasted
by the media and as children begin to age and mature we see these false ideals of
happiness become measures of success in life. The Truman Show is a film focusing on
a man who has spent his entire life living on live television, unbeknownst to himself.
Operation Anaconda Training Failure
The largest U.S. coalition and joint operation of Operation ENDURING
FREEDOM (OEF), Operation ANACONDA would take place in from 28 February
2002. However, due to weather constrictions did not commence until 02 March 2002
and ended on 16 March 2002. The objective for U.S and joint task forces combined
with Army U.S. forces; Special Operation Forces (SOF), U.S. Air Force (USAF) and
6 other nations to kill or capture Al Qaeda forces taking a stronghold in the Shahi Kot
Valley in eastern Afghanistan. The operation ended as a success, however during the
operation, we lost eight U.S. military personnel and more than 50 wounded. This
extreme battle integrated joint and interagency infrastructure with little joint

In pertaining to mission lets, focus on mission planning. Air support was a major
failure when it came to planning Operation ANACONDA. CJTF did not plan
airborne long range bombers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) to

operation, this crucial role in the operation. By incorporating air, assets in a timely
manner would have changed the outcome of the operation dramatically. If a
combined air operations center (CAOC) was included in, the joint planning air

Discrimination In Canada Throughout History
To what extent did the Canadian authorities affect the different races of people in
Canada throughout history?
Canada is a peaceful country that welcomes different cultures to Canada. The history
of Canada is mainly about citizens meeting different cultures. It is expected that
Canadians will welcome the immigrants and treat them nicely as if it s their home
country, however, this was not the case in the Canadian history. Despite, Canadas
history was full of discrimination or in other words, prejudgement of individuals.
There is no doubt that efforts have been made in the past generations to make the
country one race and one culture only. Discrimination played a major role in the
Canadian history and it created harm to many individuals or groups of people. In the
past, Canada did not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout history it proved that Canadians were discriminating any non white
people. Discrimination led to harm and violence to many groups of people. Any
non white person was treated primarily as a source of cheap labour. History shows
that most immigrants took advantage of the jobs because they were willing to work
twice as much as the white workers but the difference though was that they earn less
money. One of Canada s main victims were First Nations because their children were
sent to residential schools, their lands were taken away as well as their resources.
Aboriginals ended up living in the reserves while their children were being
homogenized in residential schools that were created by the Europeans when they
entered Canada. This caused the Aboriginal population to decrease. The Indian

Academic Abilities of Children with Selective Mutism

Academic Abilities of Children with Selective Mutism
Children with selective mutism suffer from anxiety and the inability to speak in
certain social situations. One very common social situation that all children face is in
the classroom, with teachers and classmates. This situation is often the very first
social situation that children are without their parents. This may have a
correspondence to the act the selective mutism often emerges in preschool years
(Cunningham, McHolm, Boyle, Patel, 2004). A common situation where selective
mutism appears is when in communication with a teacher. However, the social anxiety
appears to have little to no influence on children with selective mutism and their math

Instructional Decision
Many in class activities involving group interaction could be intimidating to
children with social anxiety. My job as a speech pathologist is to communicate
with the student and obtain a good sense of what the student finds to be the most
beneficial social interaction. I would also be working with the student on how to
cope and adjust to more uncomfortable circumstances, gradually introducing them
to more difficult social situations. For example, after the child is able to be
comfortable talking to me, I may introduce them to a knew adult and have them
work on speaking to and in front of them. I might also gradually increase the size
and diversity of the group that the child talks to. However, I would take the
information on what I know promotes or diminishes the student s capabilities to
learn and relay that to the teacher (AG 3.16). For example, if I learn that the child
works best in groups of the same gender, I may suggest that learning environment to
the teacher. Possibly, the child must have a reminder picture or word on his/her
desk to remember to stay calm and how to speak. I may make the teacher aware of
this icon on his/her desk, and if the child has an episode of mutism, I will suggest that
the teacher just subtly touch the student s desk to remind them of their helper card .

Life Cycle Assessment ( Lca )
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a technique used to quantify environmental outcomes
energy, materials used, and released wastes assignable to a product. It assesses the
environmental impacts of their supply chain activities as a whole. By looking at the
full picture of the activities, a firm such as Procter and Gamble (P G) could view the
environmental tradeoffs of product innovation. In efforts to sustain competitive
advantage with their popular selling item, disposablediapers, the use of LCA aides in
making decisions for producing greener products for its customers, and to reduce
environmental footprint. The public is becoming widely concerned with the products
effects on resources and the environment. These effects occur at every stage in a
product s life cycle from the extraction of the raw materials from the ground through
the processing, manufacturing, and transportation phases, ending with use and
disposal or recycling (Le van,1995, p.7,). The present study aims to evaluate the life
cycle system of disposable diapers in efforts to assign understanding of the
sustainability benefits of Life Cycle Assessment.

A Trick of the Mind Every story has a protagonist and antagonist, often thinking of
them as two different people with either similar or coinciding personalities and
traits, the battle between good and evil. However, the protagonist and antagonist
could also be the same person. Everyone always has different emotions we all have
our own, dark side, or for some, their own alter ego. This idea of a dark side, is a trait
which strongly resonates in Edgar Allan Poe s protagonist William Wilson in his
short story William Wilson. William creates a visual alter ego of himself. William
Wilson s alter ego, is a trick on his mind, with a lack of parental support, which is
created by the need for control, and finally the insecurity within his own self.
William Wilson s lack of parental support causes his poor mental health. He
introduces himself by stating his personality; I wanted people always to do things
my way; I acted like a wild fool; I let my desires control me. (Poe 6). William, even
from a young age, is born with a controlling attitude, to everyone around him, even
his parents. He also despise his parents, considers them as weak and unhelpful, My
father and mother, weak in body and mind, could do little to hold me back. (7). He
also dominates his parents. We also see his parents are weak where he is strong,
asserting his dominance, When their efforts failed, of course my will grew stronger
(7).

My Worst Day
I never imagined that my horrible day at work would turn into such an amazing
night. I was pretty upset that I was not going to be able to spend Christmas with my
boyfriend of two years Tate and his mother Penny at their house because both of our
family s were having their family Christmas the same day. So when I got his text it
started to turn the night around. I was eager for him to open his giftfrom me. Also to
see what he had snatched up for me. As I was putting my last resident in to bed at
work as I did every night as a certified nurses aide at Elm Haven East. I felt my cell
phone vibrate in my pocket, instead of looking to see who it was from I finished
doing what I need to do in order to help this lady into bed. When I was done I
finally looked at my phone to see why it had vibrated. Much to my surprise my
boyfriend Tate had texted me, asking if I wanted to come over after work to open
Christmas presents with him and his mom Penny. Happy now that I would
actually get to see him before Christmas I eagerly replied, Yes, I would love too.
See you after work . I finished up work before clocking out. As I punched my time
card I smiled with joy, knowing shortly Tate would be opening his present I was so
proud I had bought. I stepped out side to walk to my car, I saw a white cloud
coming out of my mouth as I breathed from the cold, crisp air. I pulled into his
drive way nervous to walk inside. I walked inside, my hands full of presents. I
started through the house to the living room. Penny couldn t help but have a huge
smile on her face which made me even more nervous. Penny never smiled like that.
Why was she smiling now? There I stood in the living room. Penny excitedly told
Tate to go get all the presents from them out from under the tree. While he was gone
Penny asked me Are you excited to open your presents? . The question made my
palms sweaty, I hate surprises so opening presents was defiantly my least favorite
thing to do at Christmas time. Everyone staring at you to see your reaction to the
gifts they bought you, I hated that. Tate finally returned with handful of presents and
still hand to go back for more. I just thought to myself how many presents did they
buy? When Tate was done bringing
Theme Of Beauty In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
One thing about the monster Victor Frankenstein created is certain: It is hideous.
So hideous even that though he has good intentions he gets shunned by society.
Due to his ugliness, he has trouble finding a mate and even goes on a murderous
rampage in the end which is followed by his suicide. Is the monster driven to this
terrible fate by society or is it someone or even something else? In the following, this
paper will look at the concept of beauty in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, and how it
influences the monster as well as society in general. Because of the rejection he
experiences, it can be stated that society is responsible for the monster s misfortune.
Humans often associate beauty with good qualities. A study by Dion, Berscheid and

in Grammer et al. 388). There also has been a link between attractiveness and grades,
where attractive students are favored. Grammer also states, that unattractive people
receive more or even a harsher punishment for their misdeeds (388). So maybe
Bloom was right when he said, a beautiful monster , or even a passable one, would
not have been a monster (Bloom 6). In Frankenstein beauty is often linked to good
qualities. Elizabeth is described as a beautiful woman and her beauty is linked to
her personality in chapter one: Her person was the image of her mind; her hazel
eyes [...] possessed an attractive softness (Shelley 20). In chapter 5, Justine is
described as extremely pretty as well as clever and gentle, which might also be a
link between the described qualities of beauty and her character (42). In chapter 8,
the monster finds a portrait of a woman on the dead body of William. He sees her
beauty and is astonished by it, but his admiration quickly

The Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism was released in 1967,
giving recommendations to the federal government on steps to be taken for equality
across ethnicities. The primary recommendation was for the implantation of a policy
for official bilingualism, making both English and French of equal importance in
Canada (Language rights and judicial wrongs: Official bilingualism jurisprudence in
Canada s provincial courts. Pg 11). The report also recommended that bilingualism
be increased in all of the provinces. Once Pierre Trudeau gained office one of his
first things on his agenda was to bring in the Official Languages Act (OLA) in 1969,
making both French and English equally recognized in Canada. Trudeau did not
support the nationalists in Quebec with their goal of separatism and this was his way
to make French Canadians feel they were of greater importance to the county
(Language rights and judicial wrongs: Official bilingualism jurisprudence in Canada s
provincial courts. Pg 12). Trudeau saw that this policy should strengthen national
unity in Canada through various ways. It was thought that making the French
speaking of equal importance as the English speaking in Canada it would reduce the
rising pressure coming from Quebec to separate from Canada.. The bilingualism was
also a hope that across Canada communications would become easier due to the

The Baroque era began in the year 1600, at the end of the Renaissance period
(Kamien 99). The word Baroque has had several different meanings. Back in its
time, the word Baroque has meant: Bizarre, Flamboyant, and Elaborately
ornamented. Historians, however, used this word to indicate the particular style in
all different forms of art that fills space; which includes canvas, stone, or sound
(Kamien 99). The Baroque Period is also known as the age of absolutism because so
many different rulers of the time used and abused their royal power to control their
subjects. For example, in Germany, the duke of Weimar imprisoned the famous
Johann Sebastian Bach into prison for a month just because Bach asked to leave his
job as the Duke s musician (Kamien 99). This era in time was also home to
scientific discoveries by Newton and Galileo. The Baroque era has shaped the
world, as they knew it, to what the people of the twenty first century all know and
love. In music during the Baroque era, there were two composers that well
represented the style of its time, George Frideric Handel and Johann Sebastian Bach
(Kamien 102). Bach was such an important aspect to the Baroque era that when he
died in 1750 it marked the end of the Baroque era pushing the era into the Classical
period (Kamien 102). Other famous
The Korean Music Industry Has Drastic Changes Over

The Korean music industry had drastic changes over the last ten years. Whereas
before only about a handful of artists debuted, recently a minimum of twenty groups
join the challenge each year. The recurring presence of countless different artists
creates great competition within the industry. Due to the oversaturation of promoting
artists, many groups feel pressured to quit after failed attempts to retain the attention
of the public. However, Korean artists like SHINee and Big Bang, veterans of the
musicbusiness, have thrived through difficult times and succeeded beyond
expectations. Both had to endure harsh training in their early years before they
stepped on stage, a date that was undetermined to all of them. These experts of
musical and staging experimentation have been able to supply the high demanding
audiences release after release. Both five member groups as Korean male citizens will
soon have to fulfill their service requirements in the army. Though they are nearing
their mandatory enlistment dates, these musicians only keep endorsing their works in
all types of media and through live shows. Although both international groups have
similar ethnic backgrounds, SHINee and Big Bang differ greatly in their concerts,
performances, and discography. SHINee and Big Bang organize their concerts into
unique genre driven sections that create notable ambiences; however, each music
group takes a different approach. For example, Big Bang started their tenth

Job is seen voicing his anger, Therefore I will not restrain my mouth, I will speak
in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul. (Job 7:11)
Pain is the emotion most closely related to and buried under anger. So, in essence,
the pain drives anger and anger drives change. As it relates to the grieving process,
anger instigates a form of strength and can provide the backbone and structure
necessary to move on to the next stage. (Kubler Ross Kessler 2013) Although Job
voices his anger it isn t directed to God but rather the situation. Bargaining in the
third stage and is the stage of negotiating. In their mind, a person will remain in the
past, and try anything to return to the way things were before. (Kubler Ross
Kessler 2013) At first glance, it appears Job doesn t ever go through the bargaining
stage, he clearly expresses his sadness. He continues to praise and worship God in
spite of the losses he is going through. However, one can observe how he clearly
wishes he could return to the way things were before. He is wise in heart, and
mighty in strength, who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered.
(Job 9:4) But his sorrow could certainly be seen as a type of bargaining with God to
relieve his sorrow. The fourth stage is depression, the stage where one will
experience feelings of emptiness and hopelessness. Some people worry that their
feelings of despair will last forever. Yet this stage is
Critique Of Twelfth Night
Emma Rice revamps Shakespeare s comedy Twelfth Night into a dazzling musical
production, full of modern twists and references that encompass the original core of
the play. In this eccentric production, comedy and music take center stage, supported
by technical factors such as set, lighting, and sound, but brought to life by brilliant
costuming, wondrous music, and the superb acting and singing abilities of the cast.
Rice takes several liberties with the original structure and text of the play,
manipulating roles and dialogue to fit the comedic understandings of a modern
audience. While this removes some of playwright s genius wit and style, it seemed
necessary in order to relay the overall humor and mood of the play that would

Other lighting aspects were crucial in providing context for a scene, such as the
descent of the chandelier denoting Olivia s home and the use of disco balls to indicate
the production s 70s era setting.
The essence of this production, alongside the comedy, is its musicality, and Rice
arranged the play into essentially a musical, backed by composer Ian Ross lovely
soundtrack. The mishmash of classic 70s songs, Scottish jigs, and original tracks
based on Shakespeare s songs and words, performed by a kilt wearing band in the
galley, left little doubt in the audience s mind as to when and where the production
was placed. The music accentuated the mood and emotion of every scene, from the
hauntingly beautiful, but painful refrains during the shipwreck, to the exciting
disco music of the parties, and the intense rock when Sir Toby and Maria beat their
frustrations onto Sir Andrew and Malvolio. At one point, a marimba ish sound
played as Orsino described the feminine features of Cesario , and it s repeated
when Viola, as Cesario, regales in full emotion to Olivia how she would go about
wooing the Lady. In both these instances, a character falls in love with another, Viola
with Orsino and Olivia with Cesario. The parallel in music underscored the similarity
of these scenes.
While the production commanded a mastery in background music, it was the musical
numbers and singing that drove the production forward, both in emotion and
Oath Of The Horatii Essay
Jacques Louis David came in the climax of Neoclassicism and his paintings were
so revolutionary that they can be used to pictorially define Neoclassicism as all the
features of Neoclassicism that I mentioned above can be observed and studied
through his paintings. In The Oath of the Horatii David tells the heroic story of the
Horatii brothers (the three men on the left in the painting) who challenged the
Curiatii from the neighboring town of Alba. In this painting, while receiving their
weapons from their father, the brothers are swearing to defend their land or die. One
of the three women on the right in the painting is Camilla who is engaged to one of
the Curiatii brothers posed to fight while the woman resting her head on Camilla is
one of the Curiatii sisters, Sabina, who is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And even though, The Oath of the Horatii is essentially a Neoclassical painting, it is
filled with undercurrents of Romanticism (Janson 815). The painting depicts a truly
horrific scene, the tragedy of which can be felt by the viewer, unlike the regular
Neo classical paintings that represented the values of calmness and composure.
Where on the first glance, the painting might appear frozen and still, on further
investigation we know that it is not static. Especially if seen in real life, this 13
foot tall painting is dynamic with human emotions and there is a palpable
underlying tension in this scene. The painting is frightening and is not simply
representing a historic scene but does more than that. It also in a way depicts the
past as well as the future violence that would take place and gives us an idea of the
after effects of the violence, referring to the time when Horatius returns home and
kills his sister when she curses him of killing her fiancГ© (Janson

Even though this organization is large and has withstood generations of
volunteers, lack of funding would crumble it almost immediately. Luckily, Kansas
Big Brothers Big Sisters is in a great position right now as there are many
opportunities that they can undertake. For example, they have a waiting list of
over 4,000 children who are wanting to be matched with a Big. If the right mentors
can be located throughout the state while continuing to find the resources needed,
then the organization has the ability to serve over 10,000 children in Kansas. As
over 70 percent of children on the waiting list to receive a Big are male, Kansas

The Importance Of Cultural Identity
Cultural identity is the basis in which identification is used to express different
aspects pertaining to identity and heritage. A person s cultural identity may be
created by social organization, and multiple traditions and customs within their lives.
The two aspects that construct my cultural identity are the frequent chores I must
complete every day in order to fulfill my behavioral expectations, and the youth
group I attend weekly. These aspects are important to my family and I . Therefore,
my identity has an immeasurable effect on my upbringing into this multi cultural
world I live in.
Day in and day out, I have jobs and duties I must complete in order to maintain my
behavioral expectations. After my lengthy day at school, and my tiresome, soccer
practice, I come home to find a bright colored sticky note, with a list of things I must
do in order to assist my family. The list of chores always includes, cleaning my room,
which my Mom is a stickler for. Cleaning my room is a backbreaking, difficult task,
I must complete in order to continue to play sports and do the things I love.
Although cleaning my room is quite a challenging task, due to the scattered books,
pile of clothes, and water bottles covering the floor, cleaning my room will
establish organizational skills, and persevering skills that are vital in the upbringing
of my cultural identity. Even though cleaning my room is labeled on a sticky note
every day, doing the dishes is always the one chore that is highlighted in a eye
catching yellow color, that can t be overlooked. When doing the dishes, the key is to
be patient and creative when dealing with the order you want to load the dishes into
the dishwasher, and which plate or utensil should be treated with additional care.
These values and morals not only apply to my chores, but it applies to the way I
interact with others and the way my family raised me. The chores that I execute daily,
help shape me into the individual I am today, because every person I encounter I
want to be patient and care for them, just as I did with the dishes. For this reason,
everytime I clean my room, It helps me persevere through everything and anything I
do. These chores have an effect on the social organization aspect
Do Gucci Catalogs Stack Up in Direct Marketing
Case 2: Do Gucci Catalogs Stack Up in Direct Marketing?
Catalogs, one type of direct mail merchandising, have been increasing in
popularity as consumers look toward convenience in their shopping. Catalog
business has even been expanding on the international horizon, Harris Catalog
Library has offered 1,250 domestic and international catalogs for patrons to order
from. Catalog libraries can be found close to home in U.S. libraries, and as far away
as Japanese department stores. The Japanese have been especially fond of shopping
by catalog, since by ordering American products directly from catalogs, savings up to
30 or 40 percent can be had over local retailers. Total U.S. catalog saleswere $78.6
billion in 1997 and were expected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This game, therefore, not only benefits Gucci by stimulating readership
(due to the consumer s increased scrutiny of the catalog for lucky numbers); but
serves as an inducement for the customer to make a catalog purchase.
Unfortunately, while the marketing department feels that they have a winning
strategy, top management is not so sure. Before authorizing the implementation of this
plan, top management wants a marketing researcher to discover if the plan is a
viable one. Based on the researcher s report, management will decide whether or not
to give marketing the green light.

Reflective Essay On The Written Work Process
In spite of the fact that writing in school is intense at a first begin, Arrangement is
the most troublesome piece of the written work process on the grounds that
numerous understudies have the issue of coming up short on thoughts and they
don t know where to put their writing in their paper all together for their article to
be perused easily. I need to educate you concerning how I used to mastermind my
papers amid the composition procedure. In secondary school, I generally had
coordinated works, so I needed to consider thoughts quick. That is the reason I
utilized foundation learning from data that I officially learned. In any case, it was
hard for me to consider new plans to add to my paper because of the way that the
greater part of my written work prompts were coordinated and nobody was
permitted to utilize open book to look into any new data, which is the reason
numerous understudies battled amid the composition procedure and quickly came up
short on thoughts. Presently since I m in school and my composition isn t planned, I
intend to add more plans to my paper through research, for example, the Internet,
magazines, podcasts, books, and so forth for any theme. Truth be told, in the event
that I have a written work task that contains two prompts and I have the alternative to
switch themes, I may do that too in light of the fact that numerous understudies may
change starting with one point then onto the next on the grounds that they either
feel more great with the subject and they can think of a bigger number of thoughts
for their paper than the theme that they were at that point stayed with. My teachers
once disclosed to me that it is smarter to have a greater number of thoughts than to
simply stick to just a single subject since one point won t not work and you may
not think of a lot of thoughts. Before concocting any thoughts for my paper, the
best technique for me to organize my thoughts was on a web graph on a different
sheet of paper. This strategy is superior to anything beginning to freewrite
immediately on a bit of paper since when you initially compose, you re composing
won t not bode well and after that there s the complexities of modification.

established as a non profit organization by many committed individuals including,
educating entrepreneurs, lawyers, teachers, business and tech leaders, engineers,
innovators and NGO representatives. As of Malala Fund s recent #BooksnotBullets
campaign people globally have began to show support by shining a light on the
importance of quality education for girls nationally. With this non organization
Malala was able to provide a voice for the people who do not have a voice to help
them receive an education. As of past but recent news from Malala Fund Blog, on
Malala s 18th birthday, on July 12th, 2015, marking the third annual Malala Day

more than 200 Syrian girls living in informal camps and in the Bekaa Valley
region. Malala has suggested to give an extra $39 billion a year for education
worldwide, as well as, stating that she will continue to be the voice of children in the
coming years. Now from extensive research on reuters.com, Malala stated
Managed IT Advantages
8 benefits of managed IT
Technology is critical to running an efficient and competitive business. But as IT
systems become increasingly complex, a higher level of expertise and diligence is
required to run a well maintained and secure IT environment. More and more small
businesses with limited resources have started to embrace the managed IT business
model to help them face this challenge.
Previously viewed as more of a cost savings measure, business leaders today
understand that in addition to reducing costs, managed IT can help them increase the
integrity and reliability of their systems and leverage technologies that will help them
maintain a competitive edge.
Let s look at some of the reasons businesses find outsourcing IT services an ... Show

Access to a Deep Bench of Talent
Even if your inhouse IT pro is a superhero, it s impossible for one individual to have
the broad knowledge base and experience to be able to handle all scenarios.
With managed IT, not only do you have access to a wide range of qualified experts
with diverse backgrounds and experiences, but they are also experienced in a wide
range of unique IT settings.
Having access to this talent pool also means that you have access to the newest
technologies like cloud, mobility, data analytics and the best practices knowledge to
implement them.
Transformation Through Innovation
Continuous improvement is essential for survival in the business world today.
Developing strategies for innovating business processes and implementing innovative
programs isn t practical if your team is always putting out fires or playing catch up.
A professional managed IT team can provide an unbiased assessment of your overall

The Problem Of Juvenile Delinquency
INTRODUCTION
In 2013, with seventy three point five million Americans, about one in four were
under the age of eighteen. Forty nine percent were females while the other fifty one
percent were male. Astounding thirty to forty percent of this population will commit
their first crime between the ages of fourteen and fifteen. While most are just
beginning puberty, these young boys and girls are becoming juvenile delinquents
because they chose the wrong path or the wrong path was laid out for them.
THEORIES AND CAUSE OF JUVENILE DELIQUENCY
There are many theories and causes to why some juveniles end up being juvenile
delinquents. The first is that peer groups can play a major role in one s life between
the ages of twelve and eighteen, pressuring juveniles to abandon their home life and
join street gangs. Society can play a similar role by labeling our youth and with such
a young mindset they figure if they are going to be blamed and punished anyways,
why not the satisfaction of actually committing the crime have. These two reasons
however, play only a minor role compared to personal and family issues. If we could
measure the connection between violent crime and welfare reform properly, we
might find that it has more to do with neighborhoods than with households or
individuals .
Personal causes can be anything from drugs to desire while family issues can be
anything as simple as parenting style to moral and economic problems. Parenting
styles can cause long term psychology

The Green Computing research project is well underway and we have to select a
research tool that will help with quality control. The choices are Cause and effect
diagrams, control charts, Run charts, scatter diagrams, histograms, Pareto charts
and flow charts. I am a huge fan of statistical analysis however; it is not one of the
seven tools we have to work with. Therefore, I have chosen the Pareto Chart method
to help with our quality control. A Pareto Chart will allow us to look at energy

Once the processes are categorized, then they can be prioritized. This is where the
whole leadership team gets involved, to include the stakeholders. Then these
prioritized categories can be made into a hierarchical structure with substance and
value. This Pareto analysis chart is rather easy to produce in Microsoft Excel,
which is a good thing because I am fairly competent with the process using MS
Excel. We simply put in a table the consumption values during the determined period
of study and then turn it into a chart and you have a visual of the consumption
periods. We can then find the highest consumption periods and compare them to any
changes or patterns differences from the lower periods. Then these values can be re
charted in another analysis chart to visually compare the major causes of energy
consumption. In conclusion, the Pareto analysis will allow us to identify the major
energy consumption issues or the major energy conservation savings factors and
allow us to prioritize them in a hierarchical manner. Then the decision making
process can begin to work to reduce the overall costs and save energy at the same
time.

The Effects Of Mass Media And Communication On The
Society
Media Message
Introduction
Behavioral sciences play a central role in figuring out the likely effect of mass
media and communication in the society. Different theories and approaches are used
to figure this out. This study refers to the Uses and Gratifications, and Cultivation
theories to consider the effect of the media article below on individuals. The uses
and gratification theory argues that consumers of a given media uses this media to
satisfy and fulfill specific desires and needs. On the other hand, cultivation theory
holds that heavy exposure to a certain media can cause an individual to have an
illusory perception of the life reality based on the most consistent and repetitive
message that is given in this media (Fourie, 2011).

M amp;S clothing could also be sold through Sainsbury s stores, providing a

He said: M amp;S have a fantastic property portfolio, there would be huge synergies
between the two companies. M amp;S is strong in non food, Sainsbury is strong in

It would also help to find a successor to Sir Stuart Rose.
Despite Rose persuading the City that the company s profits are going to take a hit
while the recession lasts, he has enraged some shareholders by breaching the City s
best practice standards with his twin roles of chairman and chief executive.
City investors and local authority pension funds that hold shares in M amp;S have

The Mass Media
It is common to believe that when reporting scientific studies the mass media is
accurate in reporting what the research presents in a condensed format while still
maintaining accurate information. However the two articles that will be presented
will show that although it does present information found in the researchthere are
certain aspects that are changed. As Keith Grant Davie stated before each rhetorical
situation is shaped by its four constituents and the two articles below will verify his
findings which lead into why there are differences between the academic discourse
and the more popular discourse. Therefore by examining a research paper on the
discovery of new planets and its accommodating article from CNN we found how the
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These differences are the result from the different rhetorical situations the two have
since they have different audiences, rhetors, constraints and exigence. Directly
reinforcing Keith Grant Davey s idea the audience of the two pieces are different and
is one of the reasons why the differences are there. The audience of the research
paper are scientists who understand the terminology that is used while for the CNN
article it s the general audience, which explains the difference in length, tone and
jargon of each piece. For example, the exigence of the CNN article is to present the
discovery found in the research paper to the public in ways they would understand.
So the article changed the terminology of the piece, shortened its length so people
would be more like to read it and focused on the aspect that will most likely grab
their attention which is about the possibility of the planets to host life. In order to
retain the audience s attention and appeal to them it s understandable why they
focused on that aspect much more than the methods the scientists used. Thus, to get
the audience engaged in the discourse the rhetor needed to inform the audience and
appeal to them. For the research paper the focus switched where most of the piece
focuses on how they discovered the planets. Since the audience of the piece would
most likely be other scientists and professionals who are interested in the

Congo’s Era of Damnation
In the year 1885, King Leopold II of Belgium imperialized the Independent State of
the Congo. Leopold set the area up under his own personal rule. His rule was an
extremely negative and very unwanted thing that plunged the area into an era of
damnation.
The early history of the congo really starts in 150 AD. The indigenous immigrants to
the Congo, who were most likely Pygmies, had migrated from the northern area to
the savannah regions in the south now called DROC, or Democratic Republic of the
Congo (Clarke, John H). These immigrants brought agriculture, and made iron tools.
Moving ahead to 1482, the Portuguese navigator, Diogo CГЈo visited the Congo
River marking the first ever known European contact with the region. Henry
Stanley, a British explorer is commanded to proclaim King Leopold s rule over the
Congo in 1879. This is followed by European powers at the Berlin Conference who
recognised Leopold s claim to the Congo basin and he announces the establishment of
the Congo Free State headed by himself (Democratic Republic of...), thus beginning
Leopold s era of tyranny. Leopold s purpose of controlling the Congo was for the
vast amount of resources such as ivory, rubber, and copper. In 1887, J.B. Dunlop s
invention of inflatable, rubber, bicycle tires and the rapid increase in the popularity
of the automobile, caused the demand for rubber to increase dramatically. Now
sensing an opportunity, Leopold issued three decrees in 1881 and 1882 collectively
saying that

Literary Context The book of James is not very tidy when it comes to fitting into
any of the other genres of literature. Some consider it to more of a circular rather
than an epistle and it is quite possible that both Paul and Peter had read the Epistle
of James, at least there are several coincidences between them.7 Because it was
written to such a broad audience and because it contains many references to the Old
Testament, James hardly fits into any category very neatly. Therefore, it may be best
to see James as a literary circular since it does not address any particular needs at a
given moment. James was apparently teaching the victims of the Diaspora.
The structure of the Book of James begins as a letter and later vacillates between
topics, at times appearing to be more of a sermon addressed to those in the
congregation of Jewish Christians. Considered by some to be wisdom literature,
James introduces and argues for several topics and themes. In James 2:16 26, the
themes of faith, good works, and proper treatment of the poor. At times the structure
of James resembles blocks of teaching and exhortation. Luther even accused the

Current Observable Rise In Sea Level
The current observable rise in sea level provides the world with a clear example of
the harmful effects of excess greenhouse gas emissions. Instances in Norfolk,
Virginia and southern Florida clearly represent the dangers that unregulated carbon
dioxide emission can pose to the environment, and its dangerous impact on human
life. For example, Norfolk is the home to the the largest naval station in the world
and functions as one of the most critical bases for the United States Navy. However,
rising sea levels caused by carbon dioxideemissions threaten the future of the base
and the need to move the base or adapt it to the new seascape would be a
cumbersome burden on American taxpayers. As a result, humans are tasked with

Educational Benefits of Private vs. Public Schools
Matthew Weller Educational Benefits of Private versus Public Schools There is
much debate about whether private schools or public schools are the better value.
The value proposition when comparing these two school types includes whether
scores on standardized tests are better, whether overall grades are better, which
schools provide a better bang for the buck and so forth. This article will explore
several factors that lead the author of this paper to believe that private schools are
better, and it is not even close. Reasons to Favor Private Schools When choosing
education for children, are people willing to go above and beyond a better future
or settle for what is offered to everyone? While public schools aren t as regulated,
private schools offer a safer environment which allows children to focus more on
education. Some people can argue that private schooling isn t affordable like public
(which doesn t cost a thing) but come of those people are the ones buying kids
$15,000 20,000 cars for their first car, so why not put that money to bettering a child
s future? Private schools are also more known for being better selective of hiring
teachers, while public schools tend to just snatch ones available. While children s
education is important, it is also important to educate people around the world of their
educational opportunities (de Rugy). With public school funding being cut across the
country, many parents are considering enrolling their children in one of the
Turing In Vietnam War
Turing s narrative could not have reached the public sphere, let alone become a
political talking point, without significant academic groundwork. Scientific
biographers and historians have provided the first vital building blocks for others
to shape Turing into a distinct cultural presence. However, truly original secondary
material is still scarce. 1 Surprisingly few volumes have been dedicated solely to
studying Turing alone, of which most date from 1992 onwards. This is perhaps due
to the fact that accounts of him and his primary documentation remained partially
classified and scattered for at least twenty years due to the nature of his work and
personal life. Other computer scientists with a more open public presence and a

It is worth noting that Turing and his concepts first surprisingly cropped up in a
mainstream piece of genre defining speculative science fiction relying on real
research for ideas six years prior. As Andrew Hodges notes, Arthur C. Clarke and
Stanley Kubrick drew upon the concepts in On Computable Numbers and the idea
of playing an Imitation Game with a virtual intelligence. They created a sinister

books, Erick found out the technique called testing and replacing that is what he did.
Dr. Daphane compares this technique like a routine blood test, but for the soil. In this
test, he had to send off testing tubes containing soil, to an agronomy lab to get
reports as a person would get for his blood from the medical lab. The results he got
from the agronomy lab contained information from his soil. For example, if the
soil needed more minerals or if it had too much of a mineral, as well as how much

with the Caribbean diaspora communities. He has already successfully influenced the
St Lucia government to adopt a Diaspora Policy, which was recently approved, to
engage and ensure better inclusion of overseas national in the country s national

Essay About A Dog
Matsumoto came out towing Naoko, now dressed in a pumpkin orange sweater and
chocolate brown pants, and positioned her in front of the mirrors.
There! You look surprisingly attractive in fall colors, the older woman said with her
hands on her hips, looking pleased.
Naoko gave herself a once over, I prefer winter colors myself, but I suppose this is

trip hadn t been entirely fruitless and she had walked away with a new set of boots
that she might not actually chew up later. Not to mention the new books she
procured from her venture into her store of choice, she d have to make room on her
bookcase.
Naoko and Yumichika watched Matsumoto flit from shelf to shelf like a bee in a
blooming garden looking at all the shoes while an exasperated Hitsugaya futilely
tried to stop her. It was an amusing sight to witness a small boy try to stop a full
grown woman.
Realizing they had a moment alone together Naoko

  • 2. The Truman Show Analysis Exploring Media Impact in The Truman Show Watching The Truman Show, one can easily begin to notice underlying social issues portrayed throughout this film. Social constructions are obvious throughout the environment of the film. Habitualization and internalization become relevant theories when observing the audience who play a large role in the movie. Focusing on theorists Berger and Luckmann, this review will critically analyze this theory of social construction, focusing on the impact media has in this film and universally in the United States of America. Media as a Social Problem Media is everywhere, a social aspect so critical to the economics of the United States often we do not even notice it s constant presence. Advertisement is unescapable, thus can be a dangerous weapon. Looking at the media in the United States, one can be certain that current trends and standards are used as marketing tools to suggest whatever is being sold or reported on adds value to your life. Children grow up with false ideals of beauty, success, love, and happiness as a response to the overflow of product placement and media coverage in the country. From a very young age people begin to internalize these social constructions blasted by the media and as children begin to age and mature we see these false ideals of happiness become measures of success in life. The Truman Show is a film focusing on a man who has spent his entire life living on live television, unbeknownst to himself.

Analysis Of William Wilson A Trick Of The Mind Cameron Narimanian Mrs. Scott Writing Composition 6/2/17 A Trick of the Mind Every story has a protagonist and antagonist, often thinking of them as two different people with either similar or coinciding personalities and traits, the battle between good and evil. However, the protagonist and antagonist could also be the same person. Everyone always has different emotions we all have our own, dark side, or for some, their own alter ego. This idea of a dark side, is a trait which strongly resonates in Edgar Allan Poe s protagonist William Wilson in his short story William Wilson. William creates a visual alter ego of himself. William Wilson s alter ego, is a trick on his mind, with a lack of parental support, which is created by the need for control, and finally the insecurity within his own self. William Wilson s lack of parental support causes his poor mental health. He introduces himself by stating his personality; I wanted people always to do things my way; I acted like a wild fool; I let my desires control me. (Poe 6). William, even from a young age, is born with a controlling attitude, to everyone around him, even his parents. He also despise his parents, considers them as weak and unhelpful, My father and mother, weak in body and mind, could do little to hold me back. (7). He also dominates his parents. We also see his parents are weak where he is strong, asserting his dominance, When their efforts failed, of course my will grew stronger (7).

So when I got his text it started to turn the night around. I was eager for him to open his giftfrom me. Also to see what he had snatched up for me. As I was putting my last resident in to bed at work as I did every night as a certified nurses aide at Elm Haven East. I felt my cell phone vibrate in my pocket, instead of looking to see who it was from I finished doing what I need to do in order to help this lady into bed. When I was done I finally looked at my phone to see why it had vibrated. Much to my surprise my boyfriend Tate had texted me, asking if I wanted to come over after work to open Christmas presents with him and his mom Penny. Happy now that I would actually get to see him before Christmas I eagerly replied, Yes, I would love too. See you after work . I finished up work before clocking out. As I punched my time card I smiled with joy, knowing shortly Tate would be opening his present I was so proud I had bought. I stepped out side to walk to my car, I saw a white cloud coming out of my mouth as I breathed from the cold, crisp air. I pulled into his drive way nervous to walk inside. I walked inside, my hands full of presents. I started through the house to the living room. Penny couldn t help but have a huge smile on her face which made me even more nervous. Penny never smiled like that. Why was she smiling now? There I stood in the living room. Penny excitedly told Tate to go get all the presents from them out from under the tree. While he was gone Penny asked me Are you excited to open your presents? . The question made my palms sweaty, I hate surprises so opening presents was defiantly my least favorite thing to do at Christmas time. The Baroque era began in the year 1600, at the end of the Renaissance period (Kamien 99). The word Baroque has had several different meanings. Back in its time, the word Baroque has meant: Bizarre, Flamboyant, and Elaborately ornamented. Historians, however, used this word to indicate the particular style in all different forms of art that fills space; which includes canvas, stone, or sound (Kamien 99). The Baroque Period is also known as the age of absolutism because so many different rulers of the time used and abused their royal power to control their subjects. For example, in Germany, the duke of Weimar imprisoned the famous Johann Sebastian Bach into prison for a month just because Bach asked to leave his job as the Duke s musician (Kamien 99). This era in time was also home to scientific discoveries by Newton and Galileo. The Baroque era has shaped the world, as they knew it, to what the people of the twenty first century all know and love. In music during the Baroque era, there were two composers that well represented the style of its time, George Frideric Handel and Johann Sebastian Bach (Kamien 102). Bach was such an important aspect to the Baroque era that when he died in 1750 it marked the end of the Baroque era pushing the era into the Classical period (Kamien 102). Other famous

These aspects are important to my family and I . Therefore, my identity has an immeasurable effect on my upbringing into this multi cultural world I live in. Day in and day out, I have jobs and duties I must complete in order to maintain my behavioral expectations. After my lengthy day at school, and my tiresome, soccer practice, I come home to find a bright colored sticky note, with a list of things I must do in order to assist my family. The list of chores always includes, cleaning my room, which my Mom is a stickler for. Cleaning my room is a backbreaking, difficult task, I must complete in order to continue to play sports and do the things I love. Although cleaning my room is quite a challenging task, due to the scattered books, pile of clothes, and water bottles covering the floor, cleaning my room will establish organizational skills, and persevering skills that are vital in the upbringing of my cultural identity. Even though cleaning my room is labeled on a sticky note every day, doing the dishes is always the one chore that is highlighted in a eye catching yellow color, that can t be overlooked. When doing the dishes, the key is to be patient and creative when dealing with the order you want to load the dishes into the dishwasher, and which plate or utensil should be treated with additional care. Reflective Essay On The Written Work Process In spite of the fact that writing in school is intense at a first begin, Arrangement is the most troublesome piece of the written work process on the grounds that numerous understudies have the issue of coming up short on thoughts and they don t know where to put their writing in their paper all together for their article to be perused easily. I need to educate you concerning how I used to mastermind my papers amid the composition procedure. In secondary school, I generally had coordinated works, so I needed to consider thoughts quick. That is the reason I utilized foundation learning from data that I officially learned. In any case, it was hard for me to consider new plans to add to my paper because of the way that the greater part of my written work prompts were coordinated and nobody was permitted to utilize open book to look into any new data, which is the reason numerous understudies battled amid the composition procedure and quickly came up short on thoughts. Presently since I m in school and my composition isn t planned, I intend to add more plans to my paper through research, for example, the Internet, magazines, podcasts, books, and so forth for any theme. Truth be told, in the event that I have a written work task that contains two prompts and I have the alternative to switch themes, I may do that too in light of the fact that numerous understudies may change starting with one point then onto the next on the grounds that they either feel more great with the subject and they can think of a bigger number of thoughts for their paper than the theme that they were at that point stayed with. My teachers once disclosed to me that it is smarter to have a greater number of thoughts than to simply stick to just a single subject since one point won t not work and you may not think of a lot of thoughts. Before concocting any thoughts for my paper, the best technique for me to organize my thoughts was on a web graph on a different sheet of paper. This strategy is superior to anything beginning to freewrite immediately on a bit of paper since when you initially compose, you re composing won t not bode well and after that there s the complexities of modification. Additionally, it is valuable to make a web chart

Forty nine percent were females while the other fifty one percent were male. Astounding thirty to forty percent of this population will commit their first crime between the ages of fourteen and fifteen. While most are just beginning puberty, these young boys and girls are becoming juvenile delinquents because they chose the wrong path or the wrong path was laid out for them. THEORIES AND CAUSE OF JUVENILE DELIQUENCY There are many theories and causes to why some juveniles end up being juvenile delinquents. The first is that peer groups can play a major role in one s life between the ages of twelve and eighteen, pressuring juveniles to abandon their home life and join street gangs. Society can play a similar role by labeling our youth and with such a young mindset they figure if they are going to be blamed and punished anyways, why not the satisfaction of actually committing the crime have. These two reasons however, play only a minor role compared to personal and family issues. If we could measure the connection between violent crime and welfare reform properly, we might find that it has more to do with neighborhoods than with households or individuals . Personal causes can be anything from drugs to desire while family issues can be anything as simple as parenting style to moral and economic problems. Parenting styles can cause long term psychology

Once the processes are categorized, then they can be prioritized. This is where the whole leadership team gets involved, to include the stakeholders. Then these prioritized categories can be made into a hierarchical structure with substance and value. This Pareto analysis chart is rather easy to produce in Microsoft Excel, which is a good thing because I am fairly competent with the process using MS Excel. We simply put in a table the consumption values during the determined period of study and then turn it into a chart and you have a visual of the consumption periods. We can then find the highest consumption periods and compare them to any changes or patterns differences from the lower periods. Then these values can be re charted in another analysis chart to visually compare the major causes of energy consumption. In conclusion, the Pareto analysis will allow us to identify the major energy consumption issues or the major energy conservation savings factors and allow us to prioritize them in a hierarchical manner. Then the decision making process can begin to work to reduce the overall costs and save energy at the same time. The uses and gratification theory argues that consumers of a given media uses this media to satisfy and fulfill specific desires and needs. These differences are the result from the different rhetorical situations the two have since they have different audiences, rhetors, constraints and exigence. Directly reinforcing Keith Grant Davey s idea the audience of the two pieces are different and is one of the reasons why the differences are there. The audience of the research paper are scientists who understand the terminology that is used while for the CNN article it s the general audience, which explains the difference in length, tone and jargon of each piece. For example, the exigence of the CNN article is to present the discovery found in the research paper to the public in ways they would understand. So the article changed the terminology of the piece, shortened its length so people would be more like to read it and focused on the aspect that will most likely grab their attention which is about the possibility of the planets to host life. In order to retain the audience s attention and appeal to them it s understandable why they focused on that aspect much more than the methods the scientists used. Thus, to get the audience engaged in the discourse the rhetor needed to inform the audience and appeal to them. For the research paper the focus switched where most of the piece focuses on how they discovered the planets. Since the audience of the piece would most likely be other scientists and professionals who are interested in the

  • 30. Congo’s Era of Damnation In the year 1885, King Leopold II of Belgium imperialized the Independent State of the Congo. Leopold set the area up under his own personal rule. His rule was an extremely negative and very unwanted thing that plunged the area into an era of damnation. The early history of the congo really starts in 150 AD. The indigenous immigrants to the Congo, who were most likely Pygmies, had migrated from the northern area to the savannah regions in the south now called DROC, or Democratic Republic of the Congo (Clarke, John H). These immigrants brought agriculture, and made iron tools. Moving ahead to 1482, the Portuguese navigator, Diogo CГЈo visited the Congo River marking the first ever known European contact with the region. Henry Stanley, a British explorer is commanded to proclaim King Leopold s rule over the Congo in 1879. This is followed by European powers at the Berlin Conference who recognised Leopold s claim to the Congo basin and he announces the establishment of the Congo Free State headed by himself (Democratic Republic of...), thus beginning Leopold s era of tyranny. Leopold s purpose of controlling the Congo was for the vast amount of resources such as ivory, rubber, and copper. In 1887, J.B. Dunlop s invention of inflatable, rubber, bicycle tires and the rapid increase in the popularity of the automobile, caused the demand for rubber to increase dramatically. Now sensing an opportunity, Leopold issued three decrees in 1881 and 1882 collectively saying that

Some consider it to more of a circular rather than an epistle and it is quite possible that both Paul and Peter had read the Epistle of James, at least there are several coincidences between them.7 Because it was written to such a broad audience and because it contains many references to the Old Testament, James hardly fits into any category very neatly. Therefore, it may be best to see James as a literary circular since it does not address any particular needs at a given moment. James was apparently teaching the victims of the Diaspora. Educational Benefits of Private vs. Public Schools Matthew Weller Educational Benefits of Private versus Public Schools There is much debate about whether private schools or public schools are the better value. The value proposition when comparing these two school types includes whether scores on standardized tests are better, whether overall grades are better, which schools provide a better bang for the buck and so forth. This article will explore several factors that lead the author of this paper to believe that private schools are better, and it is not even close. Reasons to Favor Private Schools When choosing education for children, are people willing to go above and beyond a better future or settle for what is offered to everyone? While public schools aren t as regulated, private schools offer a safer environment which allows children to focus more on education. Some people can argue that private schooling isn t affordable like public (which doesn t cost a thing) but come of those people are the ones buying kids $15,000 20,000 cars for their first car, so why not put that money to bettering a child s future?
