Carburetor Process
1.0INTRODUCTION The purpose of this paper is to describe the process of removing an old
carburetor and replacing it with a new Holley carburetor on an old Ford 289 engine from a 1965
Mustang. The following terms are required to know for rest of the document to make sense.
Carburetor: the chamber where fuel and air are mixed Intake manifold: supplies the fuel and air
mixture to the cylinders Vacuum lines: rubber pipes connectors that route a vacuum from the intake
manifold to power exhaust, brakes, any sort of motor, and air conditioning Throttle Lines: controls
inlet for gas and air in the carburetor and is connected to the gas pedal Kick Down Linkage: shifts
gears in an automatic transmission when revolutions per minute... Show more content on

Thirdly, the wires leading up to an electric choke are detached; however, if it is a manual choke
the rod connecting it will be disconnected. It is recommended by nearly all mechanics to switch
to an electric choke. Figure 2.3: Driver s Side of a Carburetor in addition to displaying throttle
lines it also displays where the kick down linkage is hooked up. Figure 2.4: Passenger s Side of a
Carburetor displays the electric choke and float bowl (mentioned later). Figure 2.4: Passenger s
Side of a Carburetor (Source: Speedway Motors, 2016) Third, as seen in Figure 2.4: Passenger s
Side of a Carburetor, the mounting sockets are shown. Furthermore, when attached to the manifold
there are fastening nuts that need to be removed. Once all nuts are removed the carburetor is
simply lifted off the intake manifold. After removing the old carburetor, there will still be fuel in
the float bowl. To remove the fuel, the carburetor is turned upside down and the fuel will pour out
of the top of the carburetor. Figure 2.5: Close up of the Intake

advantage for P G to acquire subsidiaries, or to license or to franchise because resources and
capabilities of SK II are located in Japan. It would be difficult to find same raw materiels to produce

Walt Disney The Old Mill
The Old Mill
77 years later and it is still as emotionally resonant, and artistically beautiful as ever. The feeling
was so strange, marveling at the tone and storytelling of The Old Mill. I have never felt more
driven than I had in animation. I wanted the Old Mill to stand tall when the storm stood still. The
feeling was magical.
The Old Mill is a 1937 Silly Symphony cartoon produced by Walt Disney, directed by Wilfred
Jackson, and scored by Leigh Harline. The film depicts a natural community of animals, populating
an old abandoned windmill in the countryside, and how they deal with a severe thunderstorm that
nearly destroyed their homes.
During this time, animation is in a transitional period from the silent films of black and white, to ...

Besides setting the groundwork for Walt Disney s future animated films, the cartoon really
enlighten the possibilities on how animation can be portrayed. Sure, Disney has held an artistic
standard of realism in his cartoons, but never on imitating nature and its animals, capturing them in
their natural habitat. In conjunction to the advancements to colored animation and sound, The Old
Mill traditionally became a piece of art capturing nature in its worst state, a thunderstorm.
Animation was originally created through imitating consciousness, and now nature. Interesting
enough, Disney s animators were assigned to study animals. Imagine the time and effort to draw
an animal enough times to recreate the same of similar body structure in multiple angles. I cannot
say anymore: The Old Mill really resonated me. It is a beautiful piece of art that still holds up in
this modern age of animation. The techniques used to create The Old Mill, is commonly used in
modern animation. While the size, space, and simplicity used to animate may differ, the techniques
are there. I would also argue that The Old Mill was the forefront of a technological advancement.
While multiplane cameras were used in the past, Disney s multiplane camera allowed the use of
seven panels of artwork and a movable camera. Multiplane cameras added a level of depth that was
never before seen in animation and fluidity. Animating rain, wind, lightning,

Social Bonds and Deviance Goes Against the Norm
Social Bonds and Deviance
Deviance is a term used to describe behavior that goes against the established social and cultural
norms. The concept of deviance is complex because norms vary considerably across groups, times,
and places. Essentially, individuals commit deviant behavior when society defines it as such.
Within the field of criminology, a number of theories exist that attempt to explain why some people
engage in deviant behavior, while others abstain from it. One of these theories is Travis Hirschi s,
social bond theory, which eventually becomes the blueprint for subsequent control theories. This
paper will analyze aspects of social control theory and social bonds, for the purpose of seeing if
they can deter deviant behavior. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words, according to Thornberry s interactional theory, the absence or weakening of
social control is a necessary, but not a sufficient condition for delinquent involvement (Cartwright,
2011, p. 229). Laub and Sampson s turning points theory was also rooted in Durkheim s views,
Hirschi s social bond theory and Thornberry s interactional theory. Laub and Sampson s theory
concluded that some social events may change delinquents from a path of crime and this event is
called a turning point. Closer to the present time, Bouffard and Petkovsek conducted a study
which explores the process through which social bonds work to restrain offending criminal
behavior. This was primarily based on Hirschi s social bonding theory and looks at the decision to
drive drunk. All of the above mentioned theorists are intricately connected through their theories,
which are based on some aspect of their respective predecessors, and their view that all individuals
are bonded to society.
Hirschi s, social bond theory, looks at how delinquency is the result of weak or broken bonds
between the individual and society. He states that there are four aspects of the bond, and their
relationship between each other, that affect our connection to society (Cartwright, 2011). These
four are: attachment, commitment, involvement in conventional activities, and lastly belief in
wider social values. Hirschi defines attachment to others as the degree to which we admire

The Buddha From Gandhara And Theotokos Of Vladimir
After looking at all the themes listed, the theme of Picturing the Divine: Gods, Goddesses,
Prophets, Buddhas, and Saints caught my eyes. Out of this theme, I picked two incredible works of
art, Meditating Buddha and Vladimir Virgin. When you first look and read the title of the theme I
choose, it may cross your mind that my theme has something to do with religion. Meditating
Buddha from Gandhara and Theotokos of Vladimirmay come from different cultural traditions;
however they both share the same general theme of picturing the divines.
The Meditating Buddha or Seated Buddha from Gandhara is an early statue of Buddha from
Gandhara, Pakistan. This work of art is from the Culture of Buddhism and was made around the
2nd or 3rd century. Buddhism still exists today and is one of the leading religions in the world,
which explains why the statue is still well known to this day and why it is still represented over and
over again throughout history. The statue is now located in Room 33, British Museum in London.
On the other hand, Vladimir Virgin is a medieval Byzantine iconof the Virgin and Child. Virgin
Mary is seen as the holy protector of Russia. Like I said earlier, it is one of the most respected
Orthodox icons and an early example of iconography of the Eleusa type. The icon is displayed in
a gallery called Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. The icon was believed to be painted in
Constantinople sometime around the 11th and 12th century. The theme I picked is associated with

The Large Regulatory Subunit
The large regulatory subunit PriL
The large subunit (PriL) of the primase is a regulatory, non catalytic subunit, where its exact role is
still undefined. Nonetheless, PriL, and in particular PriL C terminal domain (PriL CTD), has been
shown to have an essential role at the initiation stage of primer synthesis, but not during the
extension step. In fact, it is an essential gene in yeast. It has also been inferred that PriL CTD, is
involved in the primase counting mechanism (p58 .counting..). The PriL CTD has an iron sulfur
cluster which seems to play a structural role in conserving the correct three dimentional structure
of the CTD (Agarkar et al. 2011 ; Sauguet et al. 2010 ; Vaithiyalingam et al. 2010 ). To date, the
structure of PriL has not been solved in its integrity. Instead, substructures of a C terminally
truncated version of PriL (PriL О”CTD) have been solved in archaea and human (....). In addition,
the structure of PriL CTD has been reported for both yeast and human. In fact, two crystal structures
were reported for the human p58C (C terminal domain of the human large subunit) (.....).
In both archaeal and eukaryotic primases, PriL CTD exhibits a similar structure consisting of two
main domains; PriLО± and PriL SBD. PriLО± is a larger globular helical domain, while PriL SBD
is a smaller domain with a mix of both О± and ОІ secondary structures. PriL SBD represents the
surface binding domain that is in direct contact with PriS and constitute the dimerization interface.

Annotated Bibliography On Mobile Development Essay
Overview of Mobile Development in Africa 1. What are some of the advantages of mobile devices
that help residents of sub Saharan Africa to better receive information and facilitate
communication? There are several advantages of mobile devices that help residents of sub Saharan
Africa to better receive information and facilitate communication. With the low cost, rapid adoption
of mobile phones, search costs to visit markets to compare prices and products have decreased
dramatically. Residents can call markets or friends to obtain information about said prices and
products immediately, instead of waiting for information via radio broadcast or conducting a person
visit which can be both time and cost intensive. In this way, they are also becoming active (instead
of passive) participants in knowledge accumulation and transfer, as they can retrieve and
communicate information from and to various sources. Additionally, this increased communication
can improve business efficiency, especially in terms of smaller firms. Often situated in rural areas,
these smaller firms in sub Saharan Africa have limited supply options. With improved, efficient
communication, they can better manage their supply chains, engage in new activities, and even
streamline production processes. This is pertinent in terms of enriched productivity, stimulating
both firm and economic growth in the long run. By extension of this productivity facet, and the
growth of mobile devices, there is a higher demand

Animal Vs Asian Elephants
Asian elephants are a big mammal but let me tell you more about them and what makes them
different from the other elephants. Asian elephants live in Nepal, India and Southeast Asia scrub
forests and rainforests. Asian elephants have been around for over 55 million years elephants are
very successful animals they found many different fossils and they have said over 300 species
have walked the earth over a long period. Elephants eat roots, grasses, fruit, and bark. An adult
elephantcan consume up to 300 pounds of food in a single day. Elephants form deep family
bonds and live in tight matriarchal family groups of related females called a herd. When a calf is
born, it is raised and protected by the whole matriarchal herd. Female elephants live in a herd.
Male elephants have very different social needs, males are driven out of the family group as they
approach sexual maturity, males spend as much as 95% of their lives alone. When it comes to
babies getting attacked by predators, the whole herd pitches in.
After five years of rearing the young elephants, the mother gives birth to a new infant weaning the
now adolescent calf at the same time. The subspecies of the elephants are African and Asian. In
Africa there is two different species the African bush elephant, and the African forest elephant. In
Asia they just have the Asian elephant. In the early times of 2000 b.c. elephants because of the size
they were they helped building. Many experts believe that the mammoth which is

World War I And Great War
World war one was one the biggest wars in recorded history. It lasted from 1914 1918 and was a
brutal conflict in Canadian history. More than 60,000 Canadians died in this war. When the First
World War began in the year of 1914, some believe that it would last for a long time. Many young
individuals in Canada and others saw this war as a privilege to travel, adventure, and great beauty.
Some individuals were afraid that the conflict would be over before they could get into the battle.

Some of the causes of world war one are imperialism, militarism, nationalism, and alliances.
Imperialism is when one country rules over another through establishment of colonies. Imperialism
resulted from Industrialization, which was needed for raw goods and markets for manufactured
goods. The countries fought with each other over colonies. Militarism was used for building a
strong military and in order for that country to have its interests dominate the government. In the
past, war was seen as something that was acceptable to solve conflicts and enhance a country. Some
examples of imperialism include: naval arms race between Great Britain and Germany. Nationalism
is a strong feeling of loyalty and protection of culture and need of ethnic group to have a country
that is their own. Alliances are countries that form cooperative groups in order to protect everyone s
interests. However, the most significant cause of world war one was industrialization, which had
fueled imperialism, and Nationalism. Together they both caused three factors that led to war:
German unification, territorial rivalries, and economic competition.
The Great powers were prepared to participate in the war because in the 15th century, some
European nations were expanding their territory forcefully. Countries that were powerful used
imperialism by creating colonies all over the world in order to create empires. They used the land
and resources of the nations that were weak and controlled by the great

The Electronic Health Record System
When you think of technology and health care, what do you initially think about? Do you think
about the amazing innovations of the 20th and 21st century or the amazing price tag on all of this
advancement ? These days the rising cost of health care is on everyone s minds. So, how can the
cost of technology advancement help the cost of health care? Well, one solution comes down to
what every doctor, pharmacist, nurse, administrator, and CEO uses on a daily basis, and that is
records. Surprisingly, the health care industry is behind the power curve and finally technology is
bringing the industry into the digital age. One of the biggest problems we face is there is no
commonality in the patients records and nothing to safeguard them. The health care industry needs
to start using an electronic health record(EHR) system in order to combat the issue of
commonality and information security. There are many reasons why the electronic health record
system isn t growing as fast as it could. Health care costs for new medicines, equipment, software,
surgical procedures, and doctors are becoming mind numbing. In order for us to start a new
system, like EHR it will cost more money and resources. The expenses will be to buy new
equipment and software, spend the time to transcribe all the information in the database, and train
everyone how to use the system (Rothman, Leonard, Vigoda, 2012). You still have hospitals and
clinics sticking to the old way of keeping track of

Dependency on Technology in a Modern World
Dependency on Technology in a Modern World
Introduction
Technology has virtually defined the human condition since the early stages in the species
evolution. First there were rudimentary tools such as arrows and hammering utensils which
allowed humans a far great range in manipulating their environment. Further developments such
as fire, clothing, and shelter and so on changed the way humans lived and every aspect of their
lives. Today s societies have more advanced tools such as a laptop, IPod, GPS, cell phone, a
seemingly infinite number of other gizmos and gadgets that shape their lives. This essay will
question whether these devices will add to our wellbeing and improve our lives or if the
development of technology has hit a threshold point in which further developments are of little
practical value or even of negative consequence.
Communications
Of all the advancements in technology from its inception, the advancement in communication has
to be one of the most revolutionary forces that have come about. People now can communicate
with nearly anyone else in the world for very little cost and instantaneously through a variety of
mediums. People are free to move around the globe and never lose contact with the people that
they care about. Students can live video chat with other student half way around the world and can
even form interactive classrooms with a wide range of participants. Professors can record a lecture
that can be hosted on a site for anyone to

Let s take football players, for instance. During the season many are told to bulk up or gain

are eating many more calories than necessary and are often eating the wrong foods. So after the
season is over the athletes have established bad habits and are carrying excess weight around. Now,
on the opposite side of the spectrum, many athletes are not eating enough. Their caloric intake is
too low for the amount of physical activity being partaken in. Sports that are known for having
problems with this are ballet, distance running, wrestling, cheerleading, and swimming. According

When athletes are not properly fueled they may become fatigued, and they are more prone to illness
and injury. This will most certainly affect their performance. But there is something we can do
about this. Matzkin says that anytime a young female athlete comes to her office with shin splits or
fractures, she now asks about nutrition and menstruation. We may be able to identify the root
cause of bone mineral density problems, she says, and patients can be helped early to chart a
new course in eating. It s not just about eating enough, Matzkin says. It s also about eating the
right things like fruits, vegetables, protein and foods rich in calcium and vitamin D. It s critical
to build bone when you can, she says, because there s literally a countdown to how long women
have to build strong bones. (Patti Neighmond) Neighmond in this radio show says that it is all
about what they eat. By not fueling their bodies properly these athletes are setting themselves up
for failure. Now looking at the opposite end of the spectrum. Listening to all of the football
players talk about bulking up for the season always makes me wonder: How could that possibly

First off all Japanese Americans were put into camps. The Americans tried to keep them alive
the best way they could, they fed them, had bathrooms, and small bathrooms. It was not
intentional by the Americans to kill the Japanese. In the website daily life in the internment
camps it states that the Japanese were able to build a baseball diamond and have kids playing
baseball for fun. So in the camp at a certain point the Japanese were able to have a little fun in the
horrible camps. In the novel the crucible witches didn t really have a choice. If you were a true
witch and plead guilty you were to be hung and not stuck in a camp. The only way out for the
villagers that feared witches were to hang them. The villagers didn t want anything to do with
witches. In the novel the crucible Elizabeth says I would to God she were. There be fourteen
people in the jail now, she says. Proctor simply looks at her, unable to grasp it. And they ll be
tried, and the court have power to hang them too, she says (miller pg 52). This quote is saying how
John proctor s wife does not want to be hung because if the court get any hint of evidence they can

How Does Jane Austen Use Satire In Pride And Prejudice

Pride and
Prejudice
In Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice, she uses satire to demonstrate the irony, hypocrisy, greed, and
other moral faults that the characters in her novel demonstrate. The main theme is, conveniently,
the title of the book. Pride lies in both Elizabeth and
Darcy, providing a constant barrier to overcome. Austen appears to show prejudice in the class
divisions of the novel demonstrating what it was like for marriage to occur in the early 19th
century. Mr. Darcy most definitely has a lot of wealth. We can think of him as a sort of Koch
Brother For this reason, he harbors a lot of pride and decided at a ball to reject Ms. Elizabeth
Bennet she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s a simple sentence but her novel is riddled with little tid bits of it. The very first and most
important sentence is, It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a
good fortune must be in want of a wife (Pride and Prejudice 3). Austen uses this to place the
central idea about marriage. It is ironic because readers eventually see that it isn t really the rich
guy that wants a wife, it is the women pursuing the rich man. Mrs. Bennet is the number one
example of this. She was characterized originally as only caring about getting her daughters
husbands, and in doing so she causes conflict between all of the relationships she was trying to
instigate her daughters into. More irony in reference to Mrs. Bennet again is Well, my comfort
is, I am sure Jane will die of a broken heart, and then he will be sorry for what he has done (Pride
and Prejudice 148). Once again demonstrating her poor moral values, she seems to care more
that Jane get married to Mr. Bingly than caring about her daughter s death. Whether it is merely
her just kidding, it is still a sad, greedy statement. Some very important irony is that what brought
Darcy and Elizabeth back together, is how lady Catherine tried to keep her away. Also important is
how Wickham being a gross man, getting paid off by Darcy made Darcy look very good in
Elizabeth s eyes. Probably the largest irony of all is that pride ends up with prejudice, and prejudice

Analysis Of The 1918 Influenza Pandemic
Scientists studies have led to a greater understanding of the 1918 influenza pandemic. Through
conducting tests on the remains of victims, as well as consulting morgues, and numerous accounts
of that time period, scientists have finally come up with a theory and solution for influenza.
By comparing recent flu strains with the 1918 influenza scientists found reasons to believe that
the1918 influenza pandemic began as a bird virus. The bird virus would have adapted to humans
overtime eventually becoming as deadly to humans as it had been to birds. Once the virus adapted
to humans it was spread through the physicality of a handshake or hug which is highly common
among humans.
In 1918 no one knew why people were getting sick and dying. There was

The Collegiate Sport Regulation Organization And Examine...
Introduction
In the past few years, there has been much talk about the unionization of collegiate sports. College
athletes believe that they deserve more than just scholarships to compensate their contribution.
College athletes are voicing that they should be able to form a union, and thus be paid for their
athletic contributions to universities and to the NCAA. However, before one can decide whether or
not unionizing collegiate sports is the right or wrong approach to solving such issues, we must first
review the history of collegiate sport regulation organization and examine the pros and cons of
unionization.

To reform collegiate football rules, President Roosevelt had members of the White House to meet
with the Rules Committee. Out of this meeting sparked the formation of the Intercollegiate Athletic
Association (IAA). In 1910, the IAA changed their name to the National Collegiate Athletic
Association (NCAA) with the intent to form rules and regulations for all the majority of
collegiate sports (Smith, 2000). However, in the following years of the establishment of the
NCAA, commercialization of collegiate sports continued to rise to at an all time high. With
television and broadcasting also on the rise, the executive director of the NCAA, Walter Byers,
pushed for the televising of collegiate sports and signed its first contract for one million dollars, in
the 1950 s (Smith, 2000).
In 1952, as collegiate sports continue to gain a widespread of interest, the NCAA felt the need to
meet the social demand of the American society and began legalizing the use of athletic
scholarship as a form of recruiting high performing athletes to higher educational institute (A
History, 2014). In 1973, the NCAA decided to divide collegiate sports into three types of divisions,
Division I, Division II, and Division III, causing collegiate sports to be grouped based on their
competitiveness (Smith, 2000). Currently, the NCAA only provides scholarships to athletes at

Themes InThe Swimmer, By John Cheever
In John Cheever s short story, The Swimmer, we are introduced to Neddy Merrill a man who, at
first glance, seemed to be an ordinary affluent suburban man enjoying some drinks by the pool
with his neighbors. After lounging around with his neighbor, Neddy decided he s going to go
home by swimming through his neighbor s pools. Through his swimming journey, Neddy
slowly begins to acknowledge what has happened in his life. It wasn t until the moment that
Neddy finally reaches his home that everything that has happened to him fully sinks in. At the
end of The Swimmer, Neddy s vulnerability and lonesomeness are exposed. As Cheever wrote He
shouted, pounded on the door, tried to force it with his shoulder, and then, looking in at the
windows, saw that the place was empty (Cheever 737). In this sentence, we see the climax and
conclusion of Neddy s journey, and the dawn of a new awareness. Before we reach the climax
though, Cheever uses close proximity rhyming in the beginning of the sentence when he writes,
He shouted, pounded on the door (Cheever 737). This literary device provides the reader with a
glimpse into the powerful emotion surging through Neddy as he realizes that the home he thought
he had no longer exists. As we see Neddy becoming increasingly frustrated, Cheever begins to
transition this sentence to the climax of the story with Neddy feeling desperate and nervous.
Neddy reaches his breaking point as he discovers what s in the house as Cheever wrote and

Definition Of The Emancipation Proclamation Essay
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man s character, give him power. The
16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln once said. Abraham Lincoln can be noted as
the most quintessential people in history. He issued many speeches that impacted the modern world
today, such as, the Gettysburg Address, House Divided Speech, Lincoln Douglas debate, but most
notably the Emancipation Proclamation. Perspective has varied about the purpose of this document
for years, due to the fact of its romanticizing nature. The time of the Civil War was a rough year for
all divided groups. Every step, anyone made in the prior years, were unquestionably significant.

These reasons factor into why the Emancipation Proclamation could be considered a political
document, by drawing a line in the sand between the Union and the Confederacy. It was also
declared a gross violation of the wages of civilized warfare. (Wilbur) Many were disappointed as
Lincoln abandoned the rose water approach to war, which approaches a conflict in a hasty
manner. (Witt) Rightful to his religion, the proposal shadowed Lincoln s religion was followed in
his speeches and presidency. It could be thought that since he is only focusing on his religion, other
people might be singled out due to the variety of religion in various parts of the world. However,
the United States was acknowledged as a Christian capital, with Christianity as the dominant
religion with two thirds of people being followers of the religion. Lincoln also believed that
every man should enjoy the fruit of his own labor. (Reed) It is still believed today, in the modern
values and beliefs that everyone should deserve the beneficial, profitable hard working labor the
workforce does today. Not only did this for document have many possible outcomes, Lincoln

The Divine Rights Of King James I Essay
James I was king of England from March 24th 1603 till March 17th 1625 and wrote the The
Divine Right of Kings in 1609 he presented it to the English parliament. His goal was to resolve
three crucial issues: 1 parliamentary financial support for his estate, grievances of his subjects, and
uncertainties surrounding his intention to rule according to the country s ancient customs
(common law). James I first sought to establish the king s absolute right to rule, restating his belief
in the Divine Right of Kings. King James VI of Scotland became King James I of Englandin 1603.

His views in his time lead to an entrenchment on the views of the document in his society. The
common people strongly believed in his God chosen ability to rule, however soon people started
to see flaws in the ideology. Whenever the king made mistakes, mishaps or the nation was
heading down a dark road questions started to appear. Even though James put countless hours
and days into abolishing the questioning it persisted. Having a monarchy added a sense of
stability and security in the nation because the people always knew there would be another
leader and that he/she was God chosen. This idea was heavily criticized because it challenged
the Magna Carta. James I basically went fully against that piece of legislature and stated that
kings are above the law and that the rule of law should not and does not apply to them. The long
term effects of this are also very impactful. This ideology was created by James I but it was carried
on by The Sun King Louis XIV, and it was fully abolished in 1688 89 aka the Glorious Revolution .
James I began his speeches in 1609 so therefore this theory lasted roughly 90 years (1689 1609=80).
This theory was very important to all of Europe because well even if you were a king and didn t

Graduation Requirements For American Students
In recent years many educators have voiced their concern about losing our edge in the global
marketplace as well as an apparent decline in American students achievements. This has become
a reoccurring belief for many teachers, parents, and school districts throughout the United
States. As a result, many states have begun to increase the amount of units necessary to fulfill
graduation requirements in hope to enhance education and make American students more
globally competitive. As many districts have found, it is not feasible to add more subjects to
the already demanding 6 or 7 period days. The problem in doing so is that there was little time
for electives. At the same time, they began to find that adding classes only took away time from
other parts of the curriculum already established. While some districts fumbled with the idea of
adding classes and minimizing losses in other areas, a large number of schools, more
specifically 25 40 percent of U.S high schools adopted block scheduling (American Federation of
Teachers, 1999). It is apparent the block scheduling craze is thought to be a fix all solution to the
problem, at least for those districts and individuals looking for anything to help increase the status
quo. In a nutshell, block scheduling is the practice of breaking up school time into blocks or units
of classroom time. More recently we have seen this practice redefined to stand for a restructuring
movement for longer classroom periods. Typically average class

With every system there are always pro and cons that come with how the system works and who is

The Key to a Successful Business Is Planning
Most new businesses show that they fail to work out in less than five years. There is a four out
of five chance that the business will survive. Causes for this include poor planning, not being able
to compete in a challenging market, or a lot of debt. Opening a business takes a lot of planning and
patience. If you rush to open up a businesswithout any financial planning, you could possibly fail.
Studying microeconomics can help you in this situation.
Before your studying and planning, you need to be aware that starting a business is not easy and
there are going to be many things that come along with it. This can include writing out a business
plan, strategy, and advertising. You should also figure out if you are going to have employees in
your business, how many you will need, and the insurance that will be included. If you are
opening a business that falls in the retail category, you may want to consider looking for vendors
and suppliers which will really help in starting your retail business.
Looking at where you are going to open your business is very important. Always inspect where
your location to assure that is where you will want to open your business. Taking out a loan is
the best route to take, but you also need to make sure you will be able to pay it back. This is a
main reason why financial and business planning is really important. An important question to ask
yourself is, Will there be enough demand for what you are trying to sell and will you be able to

Abstract
This study investigated the possible relationships between primary and secondary psychopathy and
cognitive empathy.
Is Primary and Secondary Psychopathy Strongly Related to Cognitive Empathy?
Described as a social disorder, psychopathy is a field that has been extensively researched and we
have discovered that it consists of two distinctive subtypes; primary and secondary. There are some
similarities between these two subtypes however a distinction can be made through a subject s
characteristics and traits. Both primary psychopathy (PP) and secondary psychopathy (SP) are
associated with impulsivity, aggression, social isolation due to a lack of convergence with the
social norm , superficial charm and poor behavioural control but primary psychopaths are more
often characterised as callous, manipulative, extremely selfish with a diminished capacity for
remorse and routinely untruthful, where secondary psychopaths are more introverted, socially
anxious with low self esteem (Blackburn Fawcett, 1999). Empathy is essentially the capacity or
ability to understand and share another person s mental experience. Cognitive empathy, is often
referred to as Theory of Mind (ToM) and is conceptualised as the ability to understand and infer the
emotions and

The Theory Of The Pdca Cycle
The PDCA cycle will be used to address the quality issue. P stands for plan, D stands for do, C
stands for check and A stands for act. Planning stage is when the patient s needs, opportunities and
the root cause of the issue are identified. The hand hygiene mechanisms have to be evaluated to
identify the origin of the problem. In Do stage, changes are made gradually to avoid interrupting the
organizational activities. Staffs are trained, problems and observations are documented, the
solutions are generated, implemented and data are analyzed. During the Check stage, the results are
analyzed, compared to the predicted outcome and summarize the lesson learned before drawing
conclusions. In Act stage, the changes are standardized while monitoring it, gaps are identified and
PDCA cycle might continue if the goal is not met.
The fundamental quality instruments that will be used are control chart and Pareto chart (Byrnes,
2014). Control chart will be used to identify how outcomes changes over a period of time. Pareto
chart will be used to show the occurrence frequency that identifies the number of contributors to the
problem which identifies the frequency errors.
Measurement Issues
If the HCWs are going to be observed for hand hygiene compliance, the awareness of the
observation can have effect on their behavior (The Joint Commission, 2016). Selecting staff for the
observation could cause labor intensive and costly too. This is because the HCO will have to hire

The show s co writer, Neal Brennan told TIME that Chappelle s indecisiveness and his growing
hesitation around racial sketches was confusing and contradictory, while Comedy Central
president Doug Herzog told TIME he didn t know what the guy s thinking. But Chappelle was
onto something, and his concern was not paranoia. Whether or not his sketches were problematic
as he feared, his large, growing, diverse audience made it possible and perhaps guaranteed that
the reception of his show by some would be problematic. Chappelle had no fears of unfavorable
reception that is, an episode that made nobody laugh; again, it was a laugh that set him off! And he
certainly wasn t afraid of controversy that is, pushing boundaries for the greater good and angering
television and comedy purists along the way. In the series premiere, Chappelle introduced the
sketch Frontline: Clayton Bigsby by saying, I still haven t been cancelled yet, but I m working on
it. And I think this next piece might do

Lianyungang China Book Report
Life and times working in Lianyungang China
Many Americans are currently working in China, about 70,000 in mainland China alone. Most
are in the medical or education field and are in the larger, more Westernized cities such as
Beijing or Shanghai. My story is a little different. Mine is one of a FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced
Plastics) inspector for FSE (Fiberglass Structural Engineering). The simplest way to explain to
most people not in the industry is to refer to it simply as Fiberglass Inspector (and NO not the pick
stuff in your attic). I was working at a facility located in Lianyungang which is located in the
Jiangsu province of Eastern China. Located about halfway between Beijing and Shanghai.
Lianyungang is mostly an industrial city. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I started researching what the local attractions were. I read about a famous story that was written
by Mr. Wu Cheng en in Ming Dynasty, Journey to the West, which is originated in Lianyungang.
Part of this story takes place on Huanguo mountain. Huanguo mountain was located not very far
from where I was staying. As it appears in the book it is a mountain inhabited by demons and
monkeys. And while there are a few monkeys to be found along the way, demons were
(thankfully) notable in their absence. In my journey to the top of the mountain I found many
interesting things to see. There were temples, homes, and wonderful scenery. Once I reached the
top of the mountain there was a statue. The best interpretation I got was that it was equal to
what we would refer to as an angel. It had many ribbons tied to it. The ribbons are tied to the
symbol by a person asking for good fortune. There was also a centralized monument that many
young people were stilling under playing some sort of card game. Off to the side there was a
marker that marked the very top of the mountain. As I was admiring the marker I felt a tap on
my shoulder. It was a young girl, probably around 18 or 19. She was with a couple friends. She
asked, in broken English if she and her friends may take a picture with me. I said of course you
can. It was then that I realized that not only was I admiring all the attractions, I became one.
Once I was done with the picture session I found an older gentleman that had a monkey. As I
approached him he pointed at my cell phone and was giving me a take a picture gesture. He
proceeded to place the monkey on my hand a take a picture. I tipped him went on my way. This
was one of the most amazing days that I was in

Deborah Tannen Analysis
There are major differences in the world, such as the disparity between a solid and a liquid. But
there are also alterations that are subtle that often go unnoticed. Such as the difference between
someone who is hurting on the inside and someone who is not, the contrasts that people usually do
not want others to notice or people often miss. But what about the differences that are so obvious
but people are oblivious towards? Such as the differences between males and females; which
consists of a very large and obvious differencebut I believe that the differences do not stop at their
appearances but is rooted further into themselves or their genders. Think a little harder into how
male and females differ; there are the obvious examples, starting... Show more content on

As mentioned earlier, Anna Fazackerley showed us how females are more likely to suffer
anxiety when speaking to a large crowd. But they also provide a very insightful piece of
information about the male gender as well. The article states, In contrast, male respondents did
not admit to similar anxiety, perhaps because public confidence is key to the construction of
masculine identity (Fazackerley 8). This piece of information can be eye opening for some,
because there are males that we know that act like this in public. The males that do not want to
seem weak or girly in fear of judgment from their peers. In this sense, males and females are
similar. Both genders are afraid of being judged by their peers, but both are different again, and
show this reaction in opposite ways. This type of reaction can be traced back into psychology, with
a method called nature vs.

How Does Identity Influence June s Sexual Identity
June s growing up trying to find some clues of his current impulsive urges and automatic thinking,
but we did not touch on the sexual identity part because it was not the main concern at that time.
Sexual identity starts its formation at a young age and continues to change or solid with the
individual s development. I do not know exactly when and what influences June s sexual identity,
but I wonder If we could explore or even talk about that, maybe we could have something new
discovers and gain a deeper understanding of June s own identity in order to answer the questions:
who is he? What are the crucial factors influencing his identity? How do his genderidentity and
sexual orientationdefine him? And how does his sexual identity impact his... Show more content on

I was surprised when I first looked at June s records regarding his previous job experience before
getting to know him better. When I combine all his information together, the bigger portfolio makes
much more sense to me. Considering that job searching is also one of his treatment plan goals,
having June s traits on hand, I think traits factors model would be an appropriate model because it
concentrates on identifying the characteristics of the individual s traits in order to match the factors
within the work environmentso that hopefully June can find a job that is most closely aligned with
his personal characteristics and to minimize the possible misunderstanding regarding his sexual

Essay Henry Hudson in Comparison to Samuel de Champlain
Henry Hudson and Samuel de Champlain were two great explorers. Both were born around 1570
and were sons of sea captains . However, even though they both have similarities from how they
were brought up, their voyages were very different from one another. Even the types of explorers
they were are different from each other. Not a lot is known about Henry Hudsons personal life.
What we do know is that he was married to a woman named Katherine and they had three sons
together. Also, it is said the Hudson was most likely to have come from a wealthy family and
apparently his grandfather discovered a trading company named the Muscovy Company . Henry
Hudson s first voyage was made in 1607 when he was hired to find a route from Europe to Asia...

Henry Hudson wanted to do the job that he was hired to do and make sure that he found what he
was supposed to be looking for. Although Hudson was not capable of making his dreams a
reality, without him, New York City may not have been founded for who knows how much
longer. Also, due to his discovery of the Hudson Bay, Hudson is considered to be someone
crucial to the founding of Canada. Actually, when Hudson discovered the Hudson Bay he
believed it to be a passage into the Pacific. This is because the Hudson is large enough to create
tidal waves. Even though some people think that Hudson is a failure, because he never found a
faster water route to Asia, he was seen as a very respectable and smart navigator. His ships
always made it back safe to the people that invested in his voyages and now there are more bodies
of water named after him than any other person to have ever lived . Samuel de Champlain was born
in 1570 and was a French explorer. One way in which Champlain differs from Henry Hudson is
that Hudson was born in England and Champlain was born in France. Champlain is believed to
have been born a protestant but when he got older he converted to Catholicism. Similar to
Hudson, not much is known about his earliest years. Champlain used to travel with his Uncle to
places such as Spain and the West Indies; these were some of the first voyages that he ever made.
Also, during the time period of 1601 1603,

Internal Medicine Residency Personal Statement
Limping out of the court with a twisted ankle, I winced in pain. As the main player of the
university Table Tennis team, I was determined not to let my team s effort go in vain. The final
match was two days away and I decided to focus on my strengths my backhand chop, as opposed
to only concentrating on my opponent s weakness. As I was getting my foot examined, my coach
remarked, The pain of regret is greater than the fear of failure . This thought comes back to me
today as I prepare to apply for my Internal MedicineResidency in the United States. Exploring
newer horizons and pushing myself to resist complacency have always been my mantra, be it
academics or sports. During my medical school rotations, I was drawn towards Internal Medicine
as a subject. The hunger to go beyond the prescribed basic course requirements pushed me to...

It was an incredible opportunity to broaden my horizon when I was accepted to work under Dr.
Michael F. Holick, a pioneer in Vitamin D and Metabolic Bone Diseases at Boston University. I
took it up as a challenge and over the months grew to understand the intricacies of research and
how perfection in every little step matters to the end result. The translational research strengthened
the application of my basic science knowledge in a clinical setting. During the six months spent in
his laboratory and clinic, I observed and followed up frequently misdiagnosed conditions such as
Osteogenesis Imperfecta and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I witnessed how medicine being an all
encompassing field requires the patient, doctor, as well as the society at large to play equally
important and coordinated roles, demanding perfection and utmost commitment. This experience
like many others before reinforced the importance of always pushing boundaries and exploring
newer territories, to grow as an

The following terms are required to know for rest of the document to make sense. Carburetor: the chamber where fuel and air are mixed Intake manifold: supplies the fuel and air mixture to the cylinders Vacuum lines: rubber pipes connectors that route a vacuum from the intake manifold to power exhaust, brakes, any sort of motor, and air conditioning Throttle Lines: controls inlet for gas and air in the carburetor and is connected to the gas pedal Kick Down Linkage: shifts gears in an automatic transmission when revolutions per minute... Furthermore, when attached to the manifold there are fastening nuts that need to be removed. Once all nuts are removed the carburetor is simply lifted off the intake manifold. After removing the old carburetor, there will still be fuel in the float bowl. To remove the fuel, the carburetor is turned upside down and the fuel will pour out of the top of the carburetor. I wanted the Old Mill to stand tall when the storm stood still. The feeling was magical. The Old Mill is a 1937 Silly Symphony cartoon produced by Walt Disney, directed by Wilfred Jackson, and scored by Leigh Harline. The film depicts a natural community of animals, populating an old abandoned windmill in the countryside, and how they deal with a severe thunderstorm that nearly destroyed their homes. Besides setting the groundwork for Walt Disney s future animated films, the cartoon really enlighten the possibilities on how animation can be portrayed. Sure, Disney has held an artistic standard of realism in his cartoons, but never on imitating nature and its animals, capturing them in their natural habitat. In conjunction to the advancements to colored animation and sound, The Old Mill traditionally became a piece of art capturing nature in its worst state, a thunderstorm. Animation was originally created through imitating consciousness, and now nature. Interesting enough, Disney s animators were assigned to study animals. Imagine the time and effort to draw an animal enough times to recreate the same of similar body structure in multiple angles. I cannot say anymore: The Old Mill really resonated me. It is a beautiful piece of art that still holds up in this modern age of animation. The techniques used to create The Old Mill, is commonly used in modern animation. While the size, space, and simplicity used to animate may differ, the techniques are there. I would also argue that The Old Mill was the forefront of a technological advancement. While multiplane cameras were used in the past, Disney s multiplane camera allowed the use of seven panels of artwork and a movable camera. Multiplane cameras added a level of depth that was never before seen in animation and fluidity. Animating rain, wind, lightning, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Social Bonds and Deviance Goes Against the Norm Social Bonds and Deviance Deviance is a term used to describe behavior that goes against the established social and cultural norms. The concept of deviance is complex because norms vary considerably across groups, times, and places. Essentially, individuals commit deviant behavior when society defines it as such. Within the field of criminology, a number of theories exist that attempt to explain why some people engage in deviant behavior, while others abstain from it. One of these theories is Travis Hirschi s, social bond theory, which eventually becomes the blueprint for subsequent control theories. This paper will analyze aspects of social control theory and social bonds, for the purpose of seeing if they can deter deviant behavior. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In other words, according to Thornberry s interactional theory, the absence or weakening of social control is a necessary, but not a sufficient condition for delinquent involvement (Cartwright, 2011, p. 229). Laub and Sampson s turning points theory was also rooted in Durkheim s views, Hirschi s social bond theory and Thornberry s interactional theory. Laub and Sampson s theory concluded that some social events may change delinquents from a path of crime and this event is called a turning point. Closer to the present time, Bouffard and Petkovsek conducted a study which explores the process through which social bonds work to restrain offending criminal behavior. This was primarily based on Hirschi s social bonding theory and looks at the decision to drive drunk. All of the above mentioned theorists are intricately connected through their theories, which are based on some aspect of their respective predecessors, and their view that all individuals are bonded to society. Hirschi s, social bond theory, looks at how delinquency is the result of weak or broken bonds between the individual and society. He states that there are four aspects of the bond, and their relationship between each other, that affect our connection to society (Cartwright, 2011). These four are: attachment, commitment, involvement in conventional activities, and lastly belief in wider social values. Hirschi defines attachment to others as the degree to which we admire ... Out of this theme, I picked two incredible works of art, Meditating Buddha and Vladimir Virgin. When you first look and read the title of the theme I choose, it may cross your mind that my theme has something to do with religion. Meditating Buddha from Gandhara and Theotokos of Vladimirmay come from different cultural traditions; however they both share the same general theme of picturing the divines. The Meditating Buddha or Seated Buddha from Gandhara is an early statue of Buddha from Gandhara, Pakistan. This work of art is from the Culture of Buddhism and was made around the 2nd or 3rd century. Buddhism still exists today and is one of the leading religions in the world, which explains why the statue is still well known to this day and why it is still represented over and over again throughout history. The statue is now located in Room 33, British Museum in London. On the other hand, Vladimir Virgin is a medieval Byzantine iconof the Virgin and Child. Virgin Mary is seen as the holy protector of Russia. Like I said earlier, it is one of the most respected Orthodox icons and an early example of iconography of the Eleusa type. • 12. Annotated Bibliography On Mobile Development Essay Overview of Mobile Development in Africa 1. What are some of the advantages of mobile devices that help residents of sub Saharan Africa to better receive information and facilitate communication? There are several advantages of mobile devices that help residents of sub Saharan Africa to better receive information and facilitate communication. With the low cost, rapid adoption of mobile phones, search costs to visit markets to compare prices and products have decreased dramatically. Residents can call markets or friends to obtain information about said prices and products immediately, instead of waiting for information via radio broadcast or conducting a person visit which can be both time and cost intensive. In this way, they are also becoming active (instead of passive) participants in knowledge accumulation and transfer, as they can retrieve and communicate information from and to various sources. Additionally, this increased communication can improve business efficiency, especially in terms of smaller firms. Often situated in rural areas, these smaller firms in sub Saharan Africa have limited supply options. With improved, efficient communication, they can better manage their supply chains, engage in new activities, and even streamline production processes. This is pertinent in terms of enriched productivity, stimulating both firm and economic growth in the long run. By extension of this productivity facet, and the growth of mobile devices, there is a higher demand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Militarism was used for building a strong military and in order for that country to have its interests dominate the government. So, how can the cost of technology advancement help the cost of health care? Well, one solution comes down to what every doctor, pharmacist, nurse, administrator, and CEO uses on a daily basis, and that is records. Surprisingly, the health care industry is behind the power curve and finally technology is bringing the industry into the digital age. One of the biggest problems we face is there is no commonality in the patients records and nothing to safeguard them. The health care industry needs to start using an electronic health record(EHR) system in order to combat the issue of commonality and information security. There are many reasons why the electronic health record system isn t growing as fast as it could. Health care costs for new medicines, equipment, software, surgical procedures, and doctors are becoming mind numbing. In order for us to start a new system, like EHR it will cost more money and resources. The expenses will be to buy new equipment and software, spend the time to transcribe all the information in the database, and train everyone how to use the system (Rothman, Leonard, Vigoda, 2012). • 23. How Does Jane Austen Use Satire In Pride And Prejudice Max Ayotte Katherine Miner AP English 12 Friday, April 10th, 2015 Pride and Prejudice In Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice, she uses satire to demonstrate the irony, hypocrisy, greed, and other moral faults that the characters in her novel demonstrate. The main theme is, conveniently, the title of the book. Pride lies in both Elizabeth and Darcy, providing a constant barrier to overcome. Austen appears to show prejudice in the class divisions of the novel demonstrating what it was like for marriage to occur in the early 19th century. Mr. Darcy most definitely has a lot of wealth. We can think of him as a sort of Koch Brother For this reason, he harbors a lot of pride and decided at a ball to reject Ms. Elizabeth Bennet she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s a simple sentence but her novel is riddled with little tid bits of it. The very first and most important sentence is, It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife (Pride and Prejudice 3). Austen uses this to place the central idea about marriage. It is ironic because readers eventually see that it isn t really the rich guy that wants a wife, it is the women pursuing the rich man. Mrs. Bennet is the number one example of this. She was characterized originally as only caring about getting her daughters husbands, and in doing so she causes conflict between all of the relationships she was trying to instigate her daughters into. More irony in reference to Mrs. Bennet again is Well, my comfort is, I am sure Jane will die of a broken heart, and then he will be sorry for what he has done (Pride and Prejudice 148). Once again demonstrating her poor moral values, she seems to care more that Jane get married to Mr. Bingly than caring about her daughter s death. Whether it is merely her just kidding, it is still a sad, greedy statement. Some very important irony is that what brought Darcy and Elizabeth back together, is how lady Catherine tried to keep her away. Also important is how Wickham being a gross man, getting paid off by Darcy made Darcy look very good in Elizabeth s eyes. Probably the largest irony of all is that pride ends up with prejudice, and prejudice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Themes InThe Swimmer, By John Cheever In John Cheever s short story, The Swimmer, we are introduced to Neddy Merrill a man who, at first glance, seemed to be an ordinary affluent suburban man enjoying some drinks by the pool with his neighbors. After lounging around with his neighbor, Neddy decided he s going to go home by swimming through his neighbor s pools. Through his swimming journey, Neddy slowly begins to acknowledge what has happened in his life. It wasn t until the moment that Neddy finally reaches his home that everything that has happened to him fully sinks in. At the end of The Swimmer, Neddy s vulnerability and lonesomeness are exposed. As Cheever wrote He shouted, pounded on the door, tried to force it with his shoulder, and then, looking in at the windows, saw that the place was empty (Cheever 737). In this sentence, we see the climax and conclusion of Neddy s journey, and the dawn of a new awareness. Before we reach the climax though, Cheever uses close proximity rhyming in the beginning of the sentence when he writes, He shouted, pounded on the door (Cheever 737). This literary device provides the reader with a glimpse into the powerful emotion surging through Neddy as he realizes that the home he thought he had no longer exists. As we see Neddy becoming increasingly frustrated, Cheever begins to transition this sentence to the climax of the story with Neddy feeling desperate and nervous. Neddy reaches his breaking point as he discovers what s in the house as Cheever wrote and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whenever the king made mistakes, mishaps or the nation was heading down a dark road questions started to appear. Even though James put countless hours and days into abolishing the questioning it persisted. Having a monarchy added a sense of stability and security in the nation because the people always knew there would be another leader and that he/she was God chosen. This idea was heavily criticized because it challenged the Magna Carta. James I basically went fully against that piece of legislature and stated that kings are above the law and that the rule of law should not and does not apply to them. The long term effects of this are also very impactful. This ideology was created by James I but it was carried on by The Sun King Louis XIV, and it was fully abolished in 1688 89 aka the Glorious Revolution . • 29. Graduation Requirements For American Students In recent years many educators have voiced their concern about losing our edge in the global marketplace as well as an apparent decline in American students achievements. This has become a reoccurring belief for many teachers, parents, and school districts throughout the United States. As a result, many states have begun to increase the amount of units necessary to fulfill graduation requirements in hope to enhance education and make American students more globally competitive. As many districts have found, it is not feasible to add more subjects to the already demanding 6 or 7 period days. The problem in doing so is that there was little time for electives. At the same time, they began to find that adding classes only took away time from other parts of the curriculum already established. While some districts fumbled with the idea of adding classes and minimizing losses in other areas, a large number of schools, more specifically 25 40 percent of U.S high schools adopted block scheduling (American Federation of Teachers, 1999). It is apparent the block scheduling craze is thought to be a fix all solution to the problem, at least for those districts and individuals looking for anything to help increase the status quo. In a nutshell, block scheduling is the practice of breaking up school time into blocks or units of classroom time. More recently we have seen this practice redefined to stand for a restructuring movement for longer classroom periods. Typically average class ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Is Primary and Secondary Psychopathy Strongly Related to Cognitive Empathy? Described as a social disorder, psychopathy is a field that has been extensively researched and we have discovered that it consists of two distinctive subtypes; primary and secondary. There are some similarities between these two subtypes however a distinction can be made through a subject s characteristics and traits. Both primary psychopathy (PP) and secondary psychopathy (SP) are associated with impulsivity, aggression, social isolation due to a lack of convergence with the social norm , superficial charm and poor behavioural control but primary psychopaths are more often characterised as callous, manipulative, extremely selfish with a diminished capacity for remorse and routinely untruthful, where secondary psychopaths are more introverted, socially anxious with low self esteem (Blackburn Fawcett, 1999). Empathy is essentially the capacity or ability to understand and share another person s mental experience.
