The Death Penalty Is A Capital Punishment
What is the death penalty? The death penalty is a capital punishment that is punishable by death or
execution. This is usually given to people that have committed serious offences or capital crimes.
There are 31 states in the United States that are for the death penalty. Crimes that are punishable by
the death penalty, vary from state to state. Examples of such crimes are; first degree murder or
premeditated murder, murder with special circumstances, such as: intended, multiple, and murder
which involves another crime, rape with additional bodily harm, and the federal crime of treason. The
first known civilization to use some type of death penalty, were the Babylonian s. The Babylonians
developed a law called The Code of Hammurabi around the 1700 s BC, which consisted of twenty
five crimes, that were punishable by death. These crimes included adultery and helping slaves escape.
This code was to become the stepping stones of laws of many civilizations to come. In the Tenth
Century A.D., hanging became the usual method of execution in Britain. In the following next century,
William the Conqueror, king of England would not allow people to be executed for any crime, except
in times of war. This did not last, for in the Sixteenth Century, under the reign of Henry VIII, as many
as 72,000 people are estimated to have been executed, by boiling, burning at the stake, hanging, and
beheading. Capital punishment has had a long history in the United States. Before

Bateman, Scott A. Snell, 2009). Step one gathers and summarizes information that is in question. It
examines current conditions with an attempt at forecasting future conditions. Step two generates
alternative goals that may be used as an alternate if the first desired plan does not work. Step three
evaluates the potential of the alternative goals and prioritizes/eliminates ones that might or might not

feasible by the managers. Step five implements the goals and plans into action by managers. Goal
achievement is likely to be linked to the organization s reward system to encourage employees to
achieve the goals and implement plans properly (Thomas S. Bateman, Scott A. Snell, 2009). Step six

The Revolutionary War Of 1775

Honors Government
17 November, 2014
The Revolutionary War How many individuals lost their lives? How many families suffered the loss of
a loved one? Almost seven years of torment and torture with families torn apart. Hundreds of
thousands of soldiers fighting for their beliefs. Just what were these soldiers fighting for?
The Revolutionary War of 1775 had many catalysts. The British government abusing its powers and
creating acts and laws disliked by the citizens of the thirteen colonies was one of the main causes for
the revolt. No taxation without representation , became one the the colonists forefront cries charging
the revolt ( Causes of the American Revolution ). Other contributing factors that led to The
Revolutionary War were the French and Indian War which gave Britain control of all of America, the
Boston Massacre, and the Boston Tea Party ( Causes and Effects of the American Revolution). There
were numerous acts that forced the colonists to pay taxes to Great Britain. The colonial legislatures
said that the colonies were different from Great Britain. These legislatures could make taxes, call for
troops, and they were able to pass laws too. The colonists viewed these taxes as unfair and unjustified
( The History Channel ). With each newly imposed act the colonists became more enraged. These Acts
include: The Stamp Act, Townshend Acts, and the Sugar Act.
In 1764, sugar imported from the West Indies began being taxed

Safe Flood Evacuation Plan.
Zubaidah Sabree
EM 505: FOUNDATIONS OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
Today the greater Birmingham area has been issued a weather service announcement notice stating
that a sever flood is approaching the area. Birmingham is considered one of the most popular areas in
Alabama we should assume that there is high traffic in the area. Also, exits routes should be set up in
the event of departure. The News may also inform the citizens to have an evacuation route first aid kit
and the necessary supplies to survive for at least three day away from home. Purpose The purpose of
this paper is to show that I have clear understanding of how to properly respond in a disaster. Also, for
the purpose of this paper the citizens must be informed of a plan that will hopeful lead them to a safe
risk management plan. The point is to eliminate the potential risk factor in ... Show more content on

Also the ability to find temporary shelter is one of the responsibilities I have to take under
consideration when planning and organizing the evacuation process after a disaster. The American Red
Cross, the organization has shelters set up across the emergency route as and they have the resources
to accommodate all persons looking for safe and sufficient refuge they also make available food and
medication to families that have evacuated from the flood. Lastly, returning home will be very
difficult because there is a chance that once we return home environment will be the same therefore
keeping my family safe in all aspects not just the evacuation stage but the all stages to keep my family
protected and out of risk. Keeping my family out of harm s way will be proven to be a good idea when
it comes to rebuilding the community because families are considered as a main component of the

A Letter From Birmingham Jail Analysis
Birmingham, Alabama during the 1960 s was experiencing a time of high racial tension and injustice
for African Americans. Blacks were only allowed to sit in specific areas in buses and restaurants, and
they had separate water fountains, churches, schools, and other public gathering areas. In 1963, the
African American demonstrators began sitting in at lunch counters that had not served blacks before
and picketed stores that did not allow blacks to shop in them. Soon after, African Americans began
getting arrested for trespassing. The civil rights leaders applied for permits to picket and parade but
were denied, and this sparked the thought that the law prohibiting African Americans to picket and
parade was unjust and they decided to disobey it. This led to certain opinions about the Civil Rights
Movement to arise and become public. Eight Alabama white clergymen, who represented various
churches, wrote A Call for Unity: A Letter from Eight White Clergymen in response to the protests
that had broken out across Birmingham ( Unity ). Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested and sent to jail
in 1963 because he and others were protesting the treatment of African Americans. He went on to
write A Letter from Birmingham Jail as he waited, hunched over, in his jail cell ( Birmingham ). Both
the clergymen and Dr. King used the art of argument to try to persuade people to believe their views
on the issue. Unity and Birmingham are fitting examples of how writers with very different

The Constrained Court Model Created By Gerald N. Rosenberg
The Constrained Court model created by Gerald N. Rosenberg, proves that the courts are weak,
powerless, and ineffective for change among race, class and gender ideologies.. Using Lisa Frohmann
s article, Convictability and Discordant Locales; in which she is reproducing race, class and gender
ideologies in Prosecutorial Decision making . Frohmann uses discordant locales as a bridge to
describe how prosecutors work in sexual assault cases. Rosenberg and Frohmann demonstrate that the
courts are not effective unless they overcome these constraints, set in the constrained court model.
According to Rosenberg and Frohmann social reform is nearly unachievable, through the district
attorney and victim cross examination interview and jury assumptions. As Rosenberg specified in
order to establish social reforms the following constraints; limited nature of constitutional rights lack
of judicial independence, judiciary s lack of power implantation and inability to develop appropriate
policies need to be eradicated.
The Dynamic Court view s claim that a major contribution of the courts in civil rights was to give the
issue clarity, press political elites to act, poke the consciences of whites, legitimate the grievances of
blacks, and fire blacks up to act is not demonstrated. In all the places examined, where evidence
supportive of the claim should exist, it does not. The concerns of clear acknowledgement, time, and
increased press coverage all cut against the theory.

What Does The Flags Symbolize In The Red Badge Of Courage
A symbol is something that stands for something else, such as a concept or belief. Stephen Crane s
The Red Badge of Courage is full of various symbols that convey different ideas as it follows the
journey of a young man named Henry Fleming who joins the army to fight during war. The title, the
red badge of courage, is an obvious symbol; however, other symbols also are important in relating the
story. Crane uses several symbols in his novel including flags, corpses, and the red badge of courage
to tell the story and create meaning. In Crane s novel, flags not only symbolize different armies, but
they also represent faith and sacrifice. Flags are most often associated with the representation of a
country or state. Similarly, Crane uses flags to stand for each the armies that fight during the war in
the novel. However, Crane s flags also represent abstract concepts. The flag carried at the front of the
regiment represents the faith soldiers have in their army. If they lose their flag and the enemy takes
possession of it, this is seen as defeat. Thus, once a regiment is defeated, the victors proudly take their
enemies flag, much like Henry s friend sprang at the [enemies ] flag as a panther at prey and wrenched
it free of the dying flag bearer (146). Additionally, soldiers believe they declare, by an offer to ... Show

Henry initially believed that fighting in the army would bring him courage and glory and give him the
chance to sacrifice himself for a bigger cause. He believed death in battle would make him famous
and make sure his death would not be insignificant. However, seeing corpses makes him realize that
even if he was to die gloriously and deserving of an honor posthumously, he would not receive any.
Anything he did while alive in battle would no longer matter when he died. Despite what honorable
deeds he was to accomplish during his time in the army, his death would not be glorious, as the

Christopher uses logic instead of reason when making decisions I had to get out of the house. Father
had murdered Wellington. That meant he could murder me, because I couldn t trust him, even though
he had said Trust me, because he had told a lie about a big thing (Haddon, 122). This shows how
Christopher uses his logic instead of reason. Most people in that situation would know that just
because your dad killed a dog he would not kill you, but Christopher is more worried about trust. This
is because Christopher sees love as mostly, three things, trust, someone who helps you, and someone
who cares about you. Since Christopher doesn t trust his dad anymore he thinks his dad doesn t care
about him and this is logically thinking. This is logically thinking because he used the facts that were
their and added them up as if an equation and made his decision to leave his dad. This is how he
thought logically instead of with reason. The second way Christopher used his logic to his advantage
is when he left his father s house and he went to Mrs. Shears house and he logically thought out all of
his options and made his decision on what he was doing next. [...] I did this by thinking of all the
things I could do and deciding whether they were the right decision or not. I decided that I couldn t go

The Symbolism Of The Pardoner In The Canterbury Tales

acts. The pardoner is also a person of the church so, he should be a person for the people of the church
to look up to. He should also live a very simple life, in this piece of writing the pardoner does not live
up to these expectations and often completes worst acts that the reader would not expect from a person
of the church. Throughout the story we see many examples of why the pardoner in this story is not a

Bertha Pappenheim
Bertha Pappenheim is perhaps most famous for Josef Breuer s study of (and writing about) her, but his
treatment lasted only a couple of years she herself spent nearly thirteen years, between 1882 and 1895,
actively attempting to reconstruct herself. The aim of this reconstruction was to grow not only from
her illness but also from her previous life as a bourgeois homemaker, from the healthy aspects of her
grief for her father, and (perhaps most notably) from her immense emotional reliance on Breuer
himself. In fact, far more effectively than when working with Breuer, Pappenheim s own agency and
motivation helped her to move successfully from her previous private fantasies into a new context of
major political and social change. It is possible to examine Pappenheim s later life in terms of her
illness and subsequent treatment and indeed, her experience with illness and her relationship ... Show

Although his diagnoses are somewhat suspect, Breuer gave her validation, worldly experience, and
ultimately the place from which she began her self reconstruction. She did most of the reconstruction
on her own choosing to end her relationship with Breuer, withdrawing from the narcotics to which she
became addicted, writing and publishing her work, moving away from Vienna to Frankfurt, and
eventually taking a job. However, though Breuer s treatment itself may not have had as large an
influence on her later life as might be expected, the timing of her illness impacted quite a lot. The
major peculiarities that Pappenheim experienced were to do with her living situation she was
precluded from marrying, for example, and lived with her mother. Additionally, her tendency to tell

Reoccurring Themes In The Miller s Tale
In Chaucer s, The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer uses many aspects of one tale and incorporates it into
another using many reoccurring themes. Many characters go through similar circumstances as
Chaucer uses these themes to help each tale parallel another. For example, the Wife of Bath s Tale and
The Nun s Priests Tale, uses the theme of textual evidence as a basis of reasoning of men to overpower
women. The two tales that parallel each other the most are The Miller s Tale and The Summoner s
Tale. Nicholas and Absolon of the Miller s Tale act immoral in many ways which the Friar in the
Summoner s tale seems to exhibit. Chaucer uses the characteristics and actions of the characters in the
Miller s Tale to create a character that embodies many aspects ... Show more content on

The theme of immoral characters becomes quite disturbing when people who claimed to be devoted to
the Lord are partaking in such dishonorable acts. Dishonorable acts such as their treatment of women
show how they neglect their priesthood and are not truly men of God. The priests within the Miller
and Summoner s Tales disregard their vows of chastity and pursue women in order to fulfill their
desires of sex. Absolon, the incense swinger at the church vows for the love a young married women,
Alison. Absolon is fully aware of Alison s marriage, but is still very persistent in his attempts to try
and woo her. One of his schemes to make Alison think fondly of him involved him sending her, honey
wine, mead and spiced.....and as she [lived] in town, he [proffered] cash (The Millers Tale 88). With
his expensive gifts of food and cash leads readers to believe that he is breaking another vow, poverty.
His lust for this one woman drives him to spend essentially the church s money since priests are
supposed to take vows of poverty and refrain from living gluttonously. His desires for Alison portray
him as a clear contrast to what priests are expected to act like and in a sense, morally corrupt. The
Friar within the Summoner s Tale approaches is women is quite different to that of Absolom. The
Friar, upon meeting Thomas s wife, hugs and kisses her and says, Today I didn t see

LESSON 9 Westward Movement
Objectives:
Identify and understand how advances in technology aided the American Expansion
Identify and understand what drove American Expansion westward
Identify various foreign and domestic groups who were important in America s Expansion
Identify and understand the conflict over settling Texas
Technology s Influence on America s Growth
The economy of the United States changing rapidly. By the 1850s, more people were buying and
selling goods instead of producing goods for their own use. Capitalism was leading this change that
gave private individuals and companies the right to own factories, machines, and land. Business
owners were now investing their own money to make profits.
Capitalism brought change to farmers lives, too. The increasing populations needed more food.
Farmers were starting to used machines to plant and harvest their crops instead of doing all the labor
manually. This allowed them to grow more food to sell. In turn, farmers bought manufactured goods
with the money they earned from selling crops. As the market for goods increased, the prices came
down and allowed more people to purchase items.
People bought themselves new conveniences, such as shoes and boots coated with rubber or a new
sewing machine. The telegraph allowed almost instant communication across great distances.
Steamboats reduced both time and cost of river travel. Canals were dug in regions without passable
rivers to allow steamboat

The Importance Of Social Identity
Some...memberships are more salient than others; and some may vary in salience in time and as a
function of a variety of social situations (Tajfel, 2 3) Salience of identity, in the way that we need to
understand it in the case of perception and decision making, can be operationalized as the likelihood
that a particular identity will be invoked within a certain situation that the individual is being faced
with (Hogg, Terry, White, 257). As mentioned previously, everyone holds various identities but
salience is the process through which we subconsciously decide which we be used to base our
decision making or preferences on. The salience of a particular social identity for an individual may
vary from situation to situation and indeed from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the courtroom, she is primed for her identity as a lawyer and at home she is primed for her identity
as a mother. Certain locations or experiences will prime us to be salient for one identity vs another
which demonstrates [the] sharp changes in social norms according to the situational salience of people
s different group memberships (Tajfel, 19). Through identity salience, we come to understand another
step in the effect that identity has upon preferences and decision making. There are several studies
which make the point indirectly by manipulating the cognitive salience of group membership as their
independent variable (Tajfel, 19). By directly priming an identity, can we alter one s preferences
compared to their instinctual preferences without said priming?
When considering salience of identity and its effect on individual preferences, we could conclude that
this phenomenon may be classified as a variation of transitivity. Transitivity is described as the
cornerstone of normative and descriptive decision theories because it underlies measurement models
of sensation and value and is a necessary condition for the existence of a utility scale (Tversky, 31). If
we were to create a utility scale for each identity that an individual holds each scale would reflect the
preferences of the primed identity, placing the same items at different places upon the scale. Observed

Victoria L Bromley Feminisms Matter Summary
This feminist study will define the conceptual tool of intersectionality to define the premise of
multiple identities in Feminisms Matter by Victoria L. Bromley. Bromley s conceptualization of
intersectionality is based on the premise that social norms have limied the human identity through a
binary thinking process. The traditional binary focus of society can be found in the way that people
define themselves as being male or female as separate identities. These categories are defined through
a verity of different classifications that tend to divide personal identity through institutions ands social
norms: Categories such as sex, gender, race, and class have long been used to classify and explain
everyday experiences (Bromley, p.48). These traditional mindsets are countermanded by the concept
of intersectionality, which defines a the premise of intersecting identities that can have multiple
variations. This is how Bromley identifies the problem of narrow minded categories of gender, race,
etc. which can be challenged by a broader and more complex understanding of differing identities that
are found within the paradigm of intersectionality. Bromley (2012) defines the overarching social
hierarchies that limit intersectionality, which often involve domination, power, and strict
categorizations of identity. This is defined in Bromley s symbolic use of a pie, which has been divided

Advertisements There are millions of different types of advertisements that we can view from

being sent out in any way that the companies can make us want to buy their products. The thing that
we do not always see with these advertisements is their subtle hints that make you want to buy their

the fact that he never wants to have another kid, but the wife states she is pregnant. Finally, the
commercial ends with the husband saying he is never letting go. The whole commercial is promoting
how State Farm will be there for all your Nevers in life. This would also show that they would protect

There is no prominent distinction of State Farm colors red and white, but in the subtle details of the
clothing and baby chair, these colors are demonstrated. This helps show that State Farm is family

of having a jingle, the commercial uses the many phrases of never among the adults. All the way up to

Substance Abuse And Bipolar Disorder
Separately, substance abuse and bipolar disorder are two very serious conditions, and both have been
proven to be caused in part by heredity. Shockingly, co occurrence of both disorders in a single person
is a very common combination, and it can be very dangerous. People who have both bipolar disorder
and an addiction are understood to have a dual diagnosis or genetic overlap . Often, each condition can
worsen the symptoms of the other; having both problems increases the risk of mood swings,
depression, suicide, and other violent behavior. Studies are still being done to determine the linkage
between these two genetic ailments, but it is obvious that there has to be some relationship. The
genetic heredity of both bipolar disorder as well as substance abuse have already been proven through
data from families, adoption, and twin studies, and I m sure a positive link amongst the two conditions
can be proven as well. The National Institute of Health has gathered information about people with
these problems who actively seek help. They cite various studies from 1988 1996 that state 60.7
percent of people with bipolar I disorder had a lifetime diagnosis of a substance abuse disorder, and 48
percent of those with bipolar II disorder also had a substance abuse problem. Compare that to the 27
percent of unipolar depression patients who also have substance dependencies, and you begin to see a
greater relationship appear. Those numbers are amazing to me, and definitely

Local and foreign labour are deemed essential to Singapore s workforce in order to sustain
competitiveness in economic development. However long standing past policy implication and current
policy taken by the Government to spur economic development, could be argued to affect the labour
market and SMEs in the long run. The past and current policies that might inflicted negative impact to
labour market and SMEs are elaborated as follow: 1) Curbing Singapore growing population during
early economic development is arguably the main factor leading to Singapore lower birth rate. This

Supply of low skilled worker especially in non PMET market would be scarce especially for domestic
service industries driven by local SMEs. SMEs normally run with small capital would face tougher
business environment. SMEs would not be able to increase their productivity in a shorter time as they
could not leverage on technology. Eventually they would have to compromise their service levels
which in return force the consumers to adjust to uncertainty. The potential growth of SMEs industry
would be hampered which in return impede Singapore s economic growth. According to Dr Chua Hak
Bin, economist at Bank of Merrill Lynch, Singapore s tight foreign labour policy could cost the
economy 1.3% points of growth in 2014 which in the long run degrade Singapore s competitive
landscape with ailing domestic businesses. Besides dampening local business competitiveness, ageing
population and restricted foreign labour may lead to a lower level of innovation. As productivity
growth is associated with higher innovation and improving technology, reports from high income
OECD countries suggests that the median age of the population is negatively correlated with total
factor productivity (OECD, 2013). 4.2 BRAIN DRAIN Past policy of tailoring education to

Examples Of Metaphors In The White Tiger
Research Question: How does Aravind Adiga use metaphors in The White Tiger to highlight the
contrast between the different sections of Indian society?
Introduction:
Typically, we identify metaphors to be the figure of speech that draws an indirect comparison to bring
out an enhanced rhetoric effect. However, metaphors are so strongly ingrained in our language, that all
of us think, write, and even speak in metaphors every day. Ironically, the word metaphor itself is a
metaphor, as metaphor stems from a Greek word that means transfer or carry across . In the literal
sense, metaphors transfer meaning from one idea to another, typically associating it with a word.

Socrates s Influence On European Culture
Although Socrates never wrote even one book in his life, his thinking and ideas produce an important
impact on European culture. Socrates has always been seen as a saint who died because pursuit for

he was charged by Athenian democrats with corrupt the Athenian youth and other charges, and died by

The unexamined life is not worth living, the individual, special, and unique personality and life, and

What is the unexamined life? In my opinion, the life which is following the crowd, simply copying

this is seemed to be the most common life. In this world, the vast majorities of human beings has a

The message of the song Just the way you are by Bruno Mars is that no matter what you think of
yourself, never attempt to put yourself down and always believe that you are beautiful, Just the way
you are. hence the title. A poetic device from the song that proves one of the messages is Mars use of
personification which he uses since occasionally, when you personify a situation, it gives the non
humanly object a more humanly meaning, and it also causes it sound more interesting and engaging.
For example, in the third stanza, Mars says, Her laugh, Her laugh/ She hates but I think it s so sexy .
As well as in the Chorus, he says, The whole world stops and stares for a while . Through the use of
personification, Bruno Mars shows how he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When he says, Her lips, her lips/ I could kiss them all day if she d let me. He is exaggerating this point
considering he cannot actually kiss her the entire day, as every human is compelled to eat, breathe, go
to the washroom, etc... But, he is saying that her lips are so beautiful, that he would kiss them all day
long if he could. Also he is saying that, her eyes make the stars look like they re not shining. He is
saying this due to the fact that he considers her eyes more beautiful than the stars and that they shine
brighter so he is exaggerating that he doesn t even need to glimpse at the stars as long as he has his
girlfriend s eyes, as they are the best things to stare at. This proves the message because his girlfriend
keeps asking him throughout the song if she is extremely pretty or if she looks okay, but Bruno Mars
himself, says that she is perfect no matter what and she honestly needs to start believing that she is
beautiful and needs to stop putting herself down and to believe in

Summary Of The Playlist
The playlist had about a dozen videos, and there were two themes. The first was gorgeous women
with shaved pussies having them lovingly licked by some hot guy. In fact, this was very similar to the
cock adoration part of the blowjob playlist, only with the woman being the lucky recipient. I wrote
down shave pussy/offer to Corey s tongue.
The next part of this playlist was the most aggressive in the entire collection, and it surprised me. It
was a few videos of a woman kneeling above a man s head while grinding her pussy on his tongue and
face. My hubby loved face sitting! I had to smile. This, too, I could totally do. In every video, the
woman grabbed the guy by the hair and pulled his mouth against her pussy. I will totally do that.

This was a position that we both loved, and that would always be special for us. I didn t need to make
it any more special than it was. That said, I was really horny for Corey right then. All those beautiful
bodies fucking and licking and sucking. I had already had two orgasms. I logged out, went to the
shower, and decided to have one more.
I looked at my list. I smiled at the line I wanted to do first: Cock adoration. My research and put me
three orgasms ahead. I would cross that item off my list and let Corey catch up. The second day of
Christmas was turning out to be a lot of fun.
Corey was in the shower, and I couldn t stop myself from laughing. I kept thinking over the stupid
name I gave the night cock adoration. It sounded so porny. But, at the same time, it was kind of
perfect. I was dressing up in my little black dress. I had make up on, and I had done my hair. Why? All
so I could look glamorous as I did nothing more than focus all my attention on my husband s cock.
To kind of pull myself back to the task at hand, I opened up the pornfolio site on my phone and
watched one of the blowjob videos. One of the things I loved was how the woman would use her
mouth without her hands at times. The guy s cock would twitch up as she kissed or licked it. I loved
that.
I heard the shower turn off. I closed the browser on my phone, and with a wicked smile on my face, I
pushed the door to the bathroom open without knocking.

The Three Ethnic Cultures Of The Malaysian Culture In...
There are three main ethnic groups in Malaysia: the Malays, Chinese, and Indians. To understand
Malaysian culture, we must first understand that individuals from a multicultural society exist within
many cultural contexts simultaneously, each context influencing these individuals to some degree
(Bonn Tam, 2016). Although most of the Chinese or Indian Malaysians are multiple generations away
from their Chinese or Indian ancestors, the traditions, cultural norms, religious beliefs and linguistic
identification of their heritage are maintained. While the majority of individuals from their respective
ethnic group speak their mother tongue, they are able to speak Malay as a second language. The
constitution states that a Malay is someone who practices Malay customs, speaks the language of
Malay, and practices the religion of Islam (Bonn Tam; Mansor, 2000). The Malay social code
discourages communication that is too direct or forthcoming, especially when providing criticism or
negative feedback, as this may come across as rude (Mansor, 2000). This can be said the same for the
Malaysian Chinese, as it is important to preserve face (jaga maruah in Malay, mian zi in Mandarin).
The Malaysian Chinese primarily practice Buddhism, Taoism, or Christianity, and speak different
dialects of Mandarin. Their heritage can be traced back to the regions of Guangdong and Fujian in
China (Gabriel, 2014). The Malaysian Indians primarily practice Hinduism or Christianity, and speak
Tamil.

How Did Christianity Influence Medieval Literature
The Medieval Period was a time in history that lasted from the 5th Century to the 16th Century.
Medieval literature has been hugely influential in modern popular culture. During the middle Ages, a
great emphasis was placed on the combination of fantasy and reality. Though characters were given
human characteristics, their personalities transcended to those of fabricated figures as of God, Saints,
and brave leaders. The Middle English period features a host of firsts in English literature, such as the
first romance, drama, autobiography, fiction, and the first woman writer in English history. That
period was a gateway for cultural movement for later centuries such as the Renaissance, Romanticism
and so on. Furthermore, there was a great influence of Christianity on the literature since Christianity
was only religion at that time. Positive impact in literature was very notable by the presence of
Christianity. Middle age shows how the romance of medieval England engages with its Christin
culture. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Malory s Morte Darthur, establishes the importance of
reading romances and culture represented by Christianity. Heroism, loyalty, personal honor and
chivalry were addressed in this period by every author. Nature and status of women was one of the
challenging parts for the medieval period. At ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Symbolism In The Dust Bowl
An example of symbolism in The Dust Bowl is in the poem On The Road With Arley when Billy Joe
Said And every little crowd is grateful to hear a rag or two played on the piano by a long legged, red
haired girl, even when the piano has a few keys soured by dust. This is symbolic for the struggle that
the family has to deal with because of the drought, dust storms, and their way of life. In this poem,
when Billy Joe says At first Ma crossed her arms against her chest and stared me down, hard jawed
and sharp, and said I couldn t go. is an example of imagery. This shows imagery because the reader
can imagine Ma staring down at Billy Joe with anger and sternness. This lets the reader know that the
mom is annoyed and mad at Billie Joe for asking

How many families suffered the loss of a loved one? Almost seven years of torment and torture with families torn apart. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers fighting for their beliefs. Just what were these soldiers fighting for? The Revolutionary War of 1775 had many catalysts. The British government abusing its powers and creating acts and laws disliked by the citizens of the thirteen colonies was one of the main causes for the revolt. No taxation without representation , became one the the colonists forefront cries charging the revolt ( Causes of the American Revolution ). Other contributing factors that led to The Revolutionary War were the French and Indian War which gave Britain control of all of America, the Boston Massacre, and the Boston Tea Party ( Causes and Effects of the American Revolution). There were numerous acts that forced the colonists to pay taxes to Great Britain. The colonial legislatures said that the colonies were different from Great Britain. These legislatures could make taxes, call for troops, and they were able to pass laws too. The colonists viewed these taxes as unfair and unjustified ( The History Channel ). With each newly imposed act the colonists became more enraged. These Acts include: The Stamp Act, Townshend Acts, and the Sugar Act. In 1764, sugar imported from the West Indies began being taxed ... • 6. A Letter From Birmingham Jail Analysis Birmingham, Alabama during the 1960 s was experiencing a time of high racial tension and injustice for African Americans. Blacks were only allowed to sit in specific areas in buses and restaurants, and they had separate water fountains, churches, schools, and other public gathering areas. In 1963, the African American demonstrators began sitting in at lunch counters that had not served blacks before and picketed stores that did not allow blacks to shop in them. Soon after, African Americans began getting arrested for trespassing. The civil rights leaders applied for permits to picket and parade but were denied, and this sparked the thought that the law prohibiting African Americans to picket and parade was unjust and they decided to disobey it. This led to certain opinions about the Civil Rights Movement to arise and become public. Eight Alabama white clergymen, who represented various churches, wrote A Call for Unity: A Letter from Eight White Clergymen in response to the protests that had broken out across Birmingham ( Unity ). Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested and sent to jail in 1963 because he and others were protesting the treatment of African Americans. He went on to write A Letter from Birmingham Jail as he waited, hunched over, in his jail cell ( Birmingham ). Rosenberg, proves that the courts are weak, powerless, and ineffective for change among race, class and gender ideologies.. Using Lisa Frohmann s article, Convictability and Discordant Locales; in which she is reproducing race, class and gender ideologies in Prosecutorial Decision making . Frohmann uses discordant locales as a bridge to describe how prosecutors work in sexual assault cases. Rosenberg and Frohmann demonstrate that the courts are not effective unless they overcome these constraints, set in the constrained court model. According to Rosenberg and Frohmann social reform is nearly unachievable, through the district attorney and victim cross examination interview and jury assumptions. As Rosenberg specified in order to establish social reforms the following constraints; limited nature of constitutional rights lack of judicial independence, judiciary s lack of power implantation and inability to develop appropriate policies need to be eradicated. The Dynamic Court view s claim that a major contribution of the courts in civil rights was to give the issue clarity, press political elites to act, poke the consciences of whites, legitimate the grievances of blacks, and fire blacks up to act is not demonstrated. In all the places examined, where evidence supportive of the claim should exist, it does not. The concerns of clear acknowledgement, time, and increased press coverage all cut against the theory. ... • 12. What Does The Flags Symbolize In The Red Badge Of Courage A symbol is something that stands for something else, such as a concept or belief. Stephen Crane s The Red Badge of Courage is full of various symbols that convey different ideas as it follows the journey of a young man named Henry Fleming who joins the army to fight during war. The title, the red badge of courage, is an obvious symbol; however, other symbols also are important in relating the story. Crane uses several symbols in his novel including flags, corpses, and the red badge of courage to tell the story and create meaning. In Crane s novel, flags not only symbolize different armies, but they also represent faith and sacrifice. Flags are most often associated with the representation of a country or state. Similarly, Crane uses flags to stand for each the armies that fight during the war in the novel. However, Crane s flags also represent abstract concepts. The flag carried at the front of the regiment represents the faith soldiers have in their army. If they lose their flag and the enemy takes possession of it, this is seen as defeat. Thus, once a regiment is defeated, the victors proudly take their enemies flag, much like Henry s friend sprang at the [enemies ] flag as a panther at prey and wrenched it free of the dying flag bearer (146). That meant he could murder me, because I couldn t trust him, even though he had said Trust me, because he had told a lie about a big thing (Haddon, 122). This shows how Christopher uses his logic instead of reason. Most people in that situation would know that just because your dad killed a dog he would not kill you, but Christopher is more worried about trust. This is because Christopher sees love as mostly, three things, trust, someone who helps you, and someone who cares about you. Since Christopher doesn t trust his dad anymore he thinks his dad doesn t care about him and this is logically thinking. This is logically thinking because he used the facts that were their and added them up as if an equation and made his decision to leave his dad. Bertha Pappenheim Bertha Pappenheim is perhaps most famous for Josef Breuer s study of (and writing about) her, but his treatment lasted only a couple of years she herself spent nearly thirteen years, between 1882 and 1895, actively attempting to reconstruct herself. The aim of this reconstruction was to grow not only from her illness but also from her previous life as a bourgeois homemaker, from the healthy aspects of her grief for her father, and (perhaps most notably) from her immense emotional reliance on Breuer himself. In fact, far more effectively than when working with Breuer, Pappenheim s own agency and motivation helped her to move successfully from her previous private fantasies into a new context of major political and social change. By the 1850s, more people were buying and selling goods instead of producing goods for their own use. Capitalism was leading this change that gave private individuals and companies the right to own factories, machines, and land. Business owners were now investing their own money to make profits. Capitalism brought change to farmers lives, too. The increasing populations needed more food. Farmers were starting to used machines to plant and harvest their crops instead of doing all the labor manually. This allowed them to grow more food to sell. In turn, farmers bought manufactured goods with the money they earned from selling crops. As the market for goods increased, the prices came down and allowed more people to purchase items. The Importance Of Social Identity Some...memberships are more salient than others; and some may vary in salience in time and as a function of a variety of social situations (Tajfel, 2 3) Salience of identity, in the way that we need to understand it in the case of perception and decision making, can be operationalized as the likelihood that a particular identity will be invoked within a certain situation that the individual is being faced with (Hogg, Terry, White, 257). As mentioned previously, everyone holds various identities but salience is the process through which we subconsciously decide which we be used to base our decision making or preferences on. Certain locations or experiences will prime us to be salient for one identity vs another which demonstrates [the] sharp changes in social norms according to the situational salience of people s different group memberships (Tajfel, 19). Through identity salience, we come to understand another step in the effect that identity has upon preferences and decision making. There are several studies which make the point indirectly by manipulating the cognitive salience of group membership as their independent variable (Tajfel, 19). By directly priming an identity, can we alter one s preferences compared to their instinctual preferences without said priming? When considering salience of identity and its effect on individual preferences, we could conclude that this phenomenon may be classified as a variation of transitivity. Transitivity is described as the cornerstone of normative and descriptive decision theories because it underlies measurement models of sensation and value and is a necessary condition for the existence of a utility scale (Tversky, 31). If we were to create a utility scale for each identity that an individual holds each scale would reflect the preferences of the primed identity, placing the same items at different places upon the scale. Victoria L Bromley Feminisms Matter Summary This feminist study will define the conceptual tool of intersectionality to define the premise of multiple identities in Feminisms Matter by Victoria L. Bromley. Bromley s conceptualization of intersectionality is based on the premise that social norms have limied the human identity through a binary thinking process. The traditional binary focus of society can be found in the way that people define themselves as being male or female as separate identities. These categories are defined through a verity of different classifications that tend to divide personal identity through institutions ands social norms: Categories such as sex, gender, race, and class have long been used to classify and explain everyday experiences (Bromley, p.48). These traditional mindsets are countermanded by the concept of intersectionality, which defines a the premise of intersecting identities that can have multiple variations. This is how Bromley identifies the problem of narrow minded categories of gender, race, etc. which can be challenged by a broader and more complex understanding of differing identities that are found within the paradigm of intersectionality. But, he is saying that her lips are so beautiful, that he would kiss them all day long if he could. Also he is saying that, her eyes make the stars look like they re not shining. He is saying this due to the fact that he considers her eyes more beautiful than the stars and that they shine brighter so he is exaggerating that he doesn t even need to glimpse at the stars as long as he has his girlfriend s eyes, as they are the best things to stare at. This proves the message because his girlfriend keeps asking him throughout the song if she is extremely pretty or if she looks okay, but Bruno Mars himself, says that she is perfect no matter what and she honestly needs to start believing that she is beautiful and needs to stop putting herself down and to believe in ... • 44. Summary Of The Playlist The playlist had about a dozen videos, and there were two themes. The first was gorgeous women with shaved pussies having them lovingly licked by some hot guy. In fact, this was very similar to the cock adoration part of the blowjob playlist, only with the woman being the lucky recipient. I wrote down shave pussy/offer to Corey s tongue. The next part of this playlist was the most aggressive in the entire collection, and it surprised me. It was a few videos of a woman kneeling above a man s head while grinding her pussy on his tongue and face. My hubby loved face sitting! I had to smile. This, too, I could totally do. In every video, the woman grabbed the guy by the hair and pulled his mouth against her pussy. I will totally do that. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was a position that we both loved, and that would always be special for us. I didn t need to make it any more special than it was. That said, I was really horny for Corey right then. All those beautiful bodies fucking and licking and sucking. I had already had two orgasms. I logged out, went to the shower, and decided to have one more. I looked at my list. I smiled at the line I wanted to do first: Cock adoration. My research and put me three orgasms ahead. I would cross that item off my list and let Corey catch up. The second day of Christmas was turning out to be a lot of fun. Corey was in the shower, and I couldn t stop myself from laughing. I kept thinking over the stupid name I gave the night cock adoration. It sounded so porny. But, at the same time, it was kind of perfect. I was dressing up in my little black dress. I had make up on, and I had done my hair. Why? All so I could look glamorous as I did nothing more than focus all my attention on my husband s cock. To kind of pull myself back to the task at hand, I opened up the pornfolio site on my phone and watched one of the blowjob videos. One of the things I loved was how the woman would use her mouth without her hands at times. The guy s cock would twitch up as she kissed or licked it. I loved that. I heard the shower turn off. I closed the browser on my phone, and with a wicked smile on my face, I pushed the door to the bathroom open without knocking. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. The Three Ethnic Cultures Of The Malaysian Culture In... There are three main ethnic groups in Malaysia: the Malays, Chinese, and Indians. To understand Malaysian culture, we must first understand that individuals from a multicultural society exist within many cultural contexts simultaneously, each context influencing these individuals to some degree (Bonn Tam, 2016). Although most of the Chinese or Indian Malaysians are multiple generations away from their Chinese or Indian ancestors, the traditions, cultural norms, religious beliefs and linguistic identification of their heritage are maintained. While the majority of individuals from their respective ethnic group speak their mother tongue, they are able to speak Malay as a second language. The constitution states that a Malay is someone who practices Malay customs, speaks the language of Malay, and practices the religion of Islam (Bonn Tam; Mansor, 2000). The Malay social code discourages communication that is too direct or forthcoming, especially when providing criticism or negative feedback, as this may come across as rude (Mansor, 2000). This can be said the same for the Malaysian Chinese, as it is important to preserve face (jaga maruah in Malay, mian zi in Mandarin). The Malaysian Chinese primarily practice Buddhism, Taoism, or Christianity, and speak different dialects of Mandarin. Their heritage can be traced back to the regions of Guangdong and Fujian in China (Gabriel, 2014). The Malaysian Indians primarily practice Hinduism or Christianity, and speak Tamil. ... • 47. How Did Christianity Influence Medieval Literature The Medieval Period was a time in history that lasted from the 5th Century to the 16th Century. Medieval literature has been hugely influential in modern popular culture. During the middle Ages, a great emphasis was placed on the combination of fantasy and reality. Though characters were given human characteristics, their personalities transcended to those of fabricated figures as of God, Saints, and brave leaders. The Middle English period features a host of firsts in English literature, such as the first romance, drama, autobiography, fiction, and the first woman writer in English history. That period was a gateway for cultural movement for later centuries such as the Renaissance, Romanticism and so on. Furthermore, there was a great influence of Christianity on the literature since Christianity was only religion at that time. Positive impact in literature was very notable by the presence of Christianity. Middle age shows how the romance of medieval England engages with its Christin culture. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Malory s Morte Darthur, establishes the importance of reading romances and culture represented by Christianity. Heroism, loyalty, personal honor and chivalry were addressed in this period by every author. Nature and status of women was one of the challenging parts for the medieval period. At ... • 48. Symbolism In The Dust Bowl An example of symbolism in The Dust Bowl is in the poem On The Road With Arley when Billy Joe Said And every little crowd is grateful to hear a rag or two played on the piano by a long legged, red haired girl, even when the piano has a few keys soured by dust. This is symbolic for the struggle that the family has to deal with because of the drought, dust storms, and their way of life. In this poem, when Billy Joe says At first Ma crossed her arms against her chest and stared me down, hard jawed and sharp, and said I couldn t go. is an example of imagery. This shows imagery because the reader can imagine Ma staring down at Billy Joe with anger and sternness. This lets the reader know that the mom is annoyed and mad at Billie Joe for asking ...
