The Importance Of English As The Official Language
During the early 1500s America was pillaged by several European foreigners; for example, the
Spanish, French, and British. However, there were tens of thousands of people already occupying
America. When Europeans first invaded, over 300 languages were already being spoken and
taught by over 562 different tribes. All of these languages were extremely complex and distinct,
none of these languages being English. After colonization many of these languages became extinct,
even today they are becoming less and less used; thus, wiping away what is left of Native
American culture and language. Many American citizens argue that as a nation, English should be
recognized as the official language. Even though the majority of people in America speak or
understand English, legally placing this as the nation s language will have several negative
consequences. For people who side on making it the official language, they feel that communicating
with be easier and that allowing there to be no official language will erase American culture. Not
only are those statements not true, but they can also be deemed as xenophobic and racist.
Constitutionally setting English as the official language can not only promote xenophobia, it can
also erase minority culture; moreover, English was not the first or only language spoken in America
when it was first being colonized. Native Americans created their own life, culture, and language
without the influence of European culture. These people maintained

Critique Of Sigmund Freud s Psychoosexual Development Theory
Psychosexual Development Theory
Sigmund Freud s psychosexual development theory states the role of parents with the basic sexual
desires of children in developing their personalities. This theory is concerned on the sexual pleasure
received from specific body parts and sexual activities. Ku, (2011) argues with Freud s
recommendation on encouraging children s tendencies stating that parents will try to guide children
toward moderation in all things.
Children who complete these stages successfully, grow to be calm and well centered adults (Ku,
2011). However, problematic behavior patterns are developed when fixations occur due to
frustration or indulge.
Freud also states that personality consists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, poor sexual relationships, feeling on inadequacy and guilt about sexuality are also
developed due to fixations at this stage.
Critiques on Psychosexual Development Theory
Though this theory is being criticized, it is still important because many other theories are based on
this. According to Ku (2011), Freud s theory helped scientists to have a further look into human
behavior development. The major critique on this theory is that this theory is more focused on
human sexuality. Cherry (n.d.) states four major critiques to Freud s theory as follows:
п‚· Freud was believed to have worked with troubled adults in developing this theory, rather than
working with children,
п‚· Feminists criticize this theory as this is focused mainly on male development,
п‚· Freud s theory is difficult to test scientifically as concepts like libido cannot be measured and
tested, and
п‚· As there is a long time between childhood and adulthood, it cannot be said that childhood
experiences affects adult personality.
Conclusion
With much critics, psychosexual development theory is still considered important. Parents role

Tonkin Resolution Dbq
A North Vietnamese civilian said, The Americans thought that the more bombs they dropped, the
quicker we would fall to our knees and surrender. But the bombs heightened rather than dampened
our spirit. This shows that congress was not correct in approving the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution
because the results were war, bombing, and deaths. The United Statesand the Soviet Union were
not on good sides. The Soviet Union started spreading communism, and the United States couldn t
contain it. There was war. When President Johnson took over, war turned into a massacre. In 1964,

Soldiers killed many innocent lives because it was a do or die situation. They did not know which
civilians were innocent and which were enemies. They ended up killing innocent men, women, and

Similarities Between Krasner And Naim
The standard of the popular sovereignty implies, that the authority of a state is to govern itself or
another state. When thinking upon our current international political system we can see that it has
currently seen better days. According to Stephen Krasner and Moises Naim we can safely presume
that many actions need to be taken and a sense of Shared Sovereigntyneeds to be installed. This
would not only allow for the greater protection of certain states, but would also account for the
interaction of states on an allied level in order to crack down on the Five Wars of Globalization.
With the influx of a shared sovereignty according to Krasner and Naim it would create stronger
borders and allow for alliances with unlikely states. According to Stephen Krasner and his shared
sovereignty mentality it can be noted that many of the sovereignty rules do not apply due to, no
truly autonomous, internationally recognized well governed states. Stated in the article he points

From discussion I have picked up many instance in which a shared sovereignty as described by
Krasner and Naim, would be worth a lot in current contemporary international politics. That being
said I feel as though the main issue that may arise in which would take top priority is currently our
nuclear situation. With the addition of a nuclear arms race according to the New York Times, it
states that we could potentially be reviving the Cold War. Having the knowledge that there could be
WMD s (weapons of mass destruction) currently underground near my home brings a sense of no
security. This feeling is derived from the current presidential debate. We have feuded the entire time
and the outlook is not shiny and nice; the silver lining is turning out to be rusted aluminum. We are
attempting to increase and update our international political views and policies, however everything

Methods of 3D Image Analysis
Introduction
Since the late 1980s, arguably the most successful method of 3D image analysis has been the model
based segmentation approach. This approach, in its most mature form, matches 3D image
information to models which describe not only the expected shape and appearance of a structure,
but also statistically based information about common variations in the structure of interest. In this
way, the natural deviations in organic structures are accounted for in the statistical shape model, or
SSM.
This literature review seeks to present the present stake of the field in terms of representing
structures in this way, through a review of the methods of representing bones. Search algorithms
used to locate and align a model to the image data will then be discussed and described. Techniques
and algorithms used to model the appearance of bones will be analysed and commented on,
including the construction from, and correlation of, bones to their models. Case studies will be
mentioned throughout to demonstrate the application of SSMs to image segmentation needs.
Finally, some further applications of these models will be expanded upon.
Representation of Bones
There are a number of methods in which training data for SSMs can be gathered, and all involve
some type of volumetric image set to have been obtained. This is done primarily through the
modalities of computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging, and sometimes both in
conjunction (1). Both binary and fuzzy voxel data can

Government Of The People By Abraham Lincoln
INTRO
Democracy is eloquently described by Abraham Lincoln as government of the people, by the
people, for the people . The quote by Lincoln though, is perhaps the most straightforward,
compelling explanation ensuring that even the laymen understand the fundamentals of the term.
The subject matter that is required in this essay is to determine differences in the quality of
democracy. This is regarded as the dependant variable, which is the outcome that needs
explanation. This can be explained using the independent variables, the economic factors and
cultural factors which will be used to explain the phenomena of the dependant variable. 3
countries will be looked at in this essay to explain the given theories. The countries are Tunisia,
Algeria and Libya. All 3 countries have been picked having many similarities but when it comes
to the quality of democracy, they vary. All 3 countries are vastly Muslim, they border each other
and they are all situated in the north Africa. However the Polity score of each country differs
with Tunisia Algeria and Libya scoring 7, 2 and 0 respectively. Libya s polity score was taken that
of 2014. In measuring the difference in quality of democracy it needs to be ensured that the
countries are as similar as possible therefore enabling the difference in the quality of democracy
distinguishable.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Foreign Currency...
With the plethora of bonds, funds, stock, etc. available in the market an individual must have
sufficient information to make better financial decisions. To make this simple let us today look at
(FCCB) foreign currency convertible bond.
So what is foreign currency convertible bond (FCCB)? To make things much simpler we have
broken the word (FCCB) foreign currency convertible bond into two simple words; foreign currency
and convertible bond.
Let us look at foreign currency, (FCCB) foreign currency convertible bond is issued in a different
currency than the issuer s domestic currency. In other words a company would issue the bond in a
different/foreign currency apart from their own national/domestic currency. Therefore the principle

The bonds can be redeemed at maturity if not converted.
Disadvantages of foreign currency convertible bond
More risk of volatility of the market as more than one economy come into picture.
There is a risk of exchange as the interest is to be paid in foreign currency. In other words if the
exchange rate increases the issuer will have to pay more to the investors.
If the stock price is lower than the redemption amount investors would seek redemption of bond
instead of conversion; this may take a toll on the earnings of the company as the company will
have to refinance to fulfil the promise of redemption made.
Foreign currency convertible bond (FCCB) remains as a liability for the company and it shrinks the
current ratio of the company.
Conclusion:
Though being in practice for a long duration, foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB) have
become very popular while raising funds at competitive rates. In India foreign currency
convertible bonds (FCCB) are considered as foreign direct investment (FDI) by the government of
India. Foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB) are the more modern method of raising money
for the company, which takes advantage of the economies being truly global. Also factors like
government policies and regulation, exchange rate, and cost of conversion to stock/equity may
influence investor s decision to swap foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB) into

Democratic Debate Sketch From The Saturday Night Live
The piece of satire that I will talk about in this paper is the Democratic debate sketch from the
Saturday Night Live episode that aired on October 17, 2015. The main message of this sketch was
that the only Democratic Candidates that receive attention and matter are Bernie Sanders and
Hillary Clinton. This program was successful because they only asked the two of them questions
and at the beginning they were called the real candidates (October). This sketch starts with the
candidates introducing themselves. Martin O Malley is first, then Lincoln Chafee followed by Jim
Webb. After Webb introduces himself the moderator says they will now introduce the real
candidates (October) meaning Sanders and Clinton. Clinton is confident that she will win the
presidency. When Sanders is introduced he does not give much background on who he is but
instead says that the country is doomed. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though Webb seems to be confident in himself it is clear that the moderator does not believe
he is relevant in the race. At the end of the debate Chafee also says that he dominated the debate
even though he did not talk at all (October). This shows that he might also think that he is in the
race even though the moderator does not believe so. This sketch was very successful in getting the
message across. It was successful because by having the moderator only ask Sanders and Clinton
questions it was very obvious that they are the main candidates in the democratic race. By having
Clinton say that she thought she would easily win the election helps add to the successfulness of
the sketch because it shows that even she knows that she is one of the only candidates that any
citizens pay attention to

Running head: CASE ANALYSIS CVS: THE WEB STRATEGY
Abstract
CVS decided to expand its services by opening a Web based drugstore. Initially, there were many
doubts concerning how to do it right ; building it from start, or acquisition were the options on
hand. After studying the possibilities CVS decided to acquire Soma.com and gradually (less than 3
months) turn it into CVS.com. There were many challenges during the process: coordinating a
bicoastal organization (Soma.com headquarters were in Seattle and CVS headquarters were in
Rhode Island), determining how the reimbursement were going to be handle for online purchases,
building brand awareness and increasing traffi c and sales on the new channel (the Web). This paper

one of CVS integration issues, another one was that the website database was not synchronized with
the stores database, which made the e mail reminder tool ineffective. It appears to be that the main

Red Imported Fire Ants
How to identify ants,
In the United States, imported fire ants currently inhabit all or parts of Alabama, Arkansas,
California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina,
Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. They are discovered
sporadically in Maryland. The red imported fire ant has also been accidentally introduced to other
countries. Imported fire ants will likely continue to spread throughout much of the southern portion
of the U.S, and other parts of the world where climate conditions are suitable.
Accurate identification of fire ants can be especially important in the southwestern states, where
native fire ant species are common and imported fire ants are rare. Although ... Show more content

Carpenter ants are usually larger than most other house infesting ants. They vary in color from a
dull black or reddish yellow color to a combination of black and dull red or reddish orange.
Why do fire ants bite
Fire ant is the common name for several species of ants in the genus solenopsis. They are,
however, only a minority in the genus, which includes over 200 species of Solenopsis worldwide.
Solenopsis are stinging ants and most of their common names reflect this, for example, ginger ants
and tropical ants. Many species also are called red ants because of their light brown color, though
species of ants in many other genera are similarly named for similar reasons. Examples include
Myrmica rubra and Pogonomyrmex barbatus.
None of these names applies in all countries nor to all species of Solenopsis, only to Solenopsis
species; for example the colloquial names for several species of weaver ants in the genus
Oecophylla in Southeast Asia include fire ants because of their red color and painful sting he two
genera, however, are not closely related. Also, Wasmannia auropunctata is commonly called the

Argumentative Essay On The Color Purple
According to the Collins Dictionary, the term belittle is when you speak of (something) as less
valuable or important than it really is . When evaluating the given definition, the word something
is key to the topic that will be delivered. This is because The color Purple by Alice Walker
exemplifies the time period between 1910 1940 in which the belittling of women was very
common. The word something stands out because during this time period (1910 1940) women
were treated as things and not human beings, which is why the definition given by the Collins
Dictionary represents more completely the conduct usually men manifested. We can infer that
belittling falls into the category of abuse, mainly because when you abuse of someone, either
physically or emotionally, you make the person feel inferior and powerless. Throughout the novel...

In the end, we see the results of Chihiro s growth as a character as she faces the Witch Yubaba in

allowing her to become a much more mature individual as compared to her state of being at the
beginning of the film. Spirited Awaydraws upon many mythic themes, and the ones that I will be
talking about are Symbolism and Sacred Spaces. One of the symbols that we are first introduced
to in Spirited Away is water. When our hero starts to transition into the world of spirits,
something happens off screen. Water suddenly blocks the tunnel that connects the human world
and the spirit world. Water also appears to magically surround the perimeter of the bathhouse at
its base. Water is also used in the bathhouse to rejuvenate and cleanse spirits that enter. And
finally, water comes up again when we see a flashback of what seems to be Chihiro drowning in
a river. So what s up with water? Well, throughout the film, water is used to symbolize freedom
and captivity. It serves as a literal object that blocks Chihiro s path back to the human world, and
also limits movement around the spirit world (we see that Chihiro has to utilize a train system in
order to move around the spirit world freely). However, water isn t all that bad. In the scene where
Chihiro is faced with the responsibility to clean the stink spirit, inordinate amounts of

The Cost Of The Asset
Under generally accepted accounting principles, assets both tangible and certain intangible
assets that have an estimated useful life of more than one year but not infinitely should be
allocated and depreciated, amortized or depleted. The cost of the asset needs to be determined as
well as any possible salvage or resale value estimated. The total cost of an asset needs to not only
include the purchase price of the item but also sales taxes, installation costs, freight and interest (if
applicable). Costs currently or that are incurred in the future for maintenance and repairs is only an
expense and does not change the value of the asset. Basically, all costs that were necessary to allow
the asset to become useful should be capitalized. Depreciation, amortization and depletion are
acceptable methods used under U.S. GAAP to charge the cost of an asset used in a company s
day to day operations to expense over the periods benefited systematically. Depreciation refers to
prorating tangible and intangible asset s cost less any salvage value evenly over the useful life
of the asset. For an item to be considered an asset, it must intended for operations of the business
and not for resale. Useful life should be reasonable but can vary from one asset to another from
one view point to another. Estimated useful life is the time period in which an asset is expected to
contribute to usefulness to a company. Not all assets will have salvage value. With the exception
of land, all assets are

Herbs And Spices That Can Help Manage Your Diabetes
5 Herbs and Spices That Can Help Manage Your Diabetes
Meal planning is one of the most important (and sometimes frustrating) things for those with
diabetes. It can be challenging to create dishes that provide sound nutrition, limit sugar and
carbohydrates, AND taste good. But, by focusing on whole foods that incorporate a variety of
herbs and spices, you ll find you not only develop tastier dishes, but ones that can bolster your fight
against diabetes.
The five herbs and spices on this list have been shown to assist in managing blood glucose levels
as well as reduce inflammation in the body, which can lead to insulin resistance and diabetes (along
with a whole host of other chronic diseases!)
Herbs and Spices Have Historically Been Used as Medicine
Herbs and spices have been used for thousands of years for their health benefits. Papyri from
Ancient Egypt spoke of fennel, juniper, coriander, cumin, garlic and thyme as health promoting
spices. [1] Ancient cuneiform records noted spice and herb use in Mesopotamia, where many
aromatic plants were traditionally used; and Sumerian medical literature dating from the 3rd
millennium BC mention various odoriferous plants, including thyme. [2]
Modern medicine is finally catching up to the ancients in realizing the health promoting benefits of
myriad herbs and spices. For instance, a study by the University of Georgia revealed that many
herbs and spices are a rich source of the antioxidant phenol, which can prevent inflammation and

Speech On Denture Adhesive
Introduction
Many people approach purchasing a denture adhesive with some degree of anxiety and skepticism.
However, once you get over the initial apprehensiveness, you ll come to appreciate denture
adhesives as a great way to ensure you dentures remain firmly rooted in your mouth all day long.
While there is no way to determine the absolute best denture adhesive available, today I m going to
be showing you some of the my personal favorites.
What is a Denture Adhesive?
I m sure you already understand the basic idea of a denture adhesive to prevent your dentures from
slipping off your gums throughout the day but do you know what exactly goes into one?
Obviously, all denture adhesives will vary slightly in their ingredients, but most ... Show more

It may set you back a little more than some other denture adhesives on the market, but the majority
of those who have used it insist it is worth every penny.
Pros
Extra Strong Hold
The Effergrip Denture Adhesive Cream may look rather unimpressive in terms of its packaging, but
it offers an incredible performance. With an extra strong hold, it ensures your dentures stay in place
from the moment you put them in your mouth in the morning right through to the moment you take
them out at night.
No Aftertaste
A common problem with a lot of denture adhesives is that they leave an aftertaste every time you
swallow. The Effergrip Denture Adhesive Cream, however, leaves virtually no aftertaste and allows
you to enjoy every meal you eat throughout the day.
Cons
Difficult To Find In Shops
There was a time when the Effergrip Denture Adhesive Cream was as widely available as the
products of Fixodent. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the product has become frustratingly
difficult to find in shops across the United States of America. It can still be purchased online, but
that may prove difficult for a lot of less technologically gifted denture wearers.

Technology And The Future Of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
The package comes, but there is no deliverer. A tractor is plowing the field after a successful
harvest, but there is no driver. This is the future of technology, and more specifically, unmanned
aerial vehicles. UAVs, more commonly referred to as drones, have been advancing for decades now.
Their advancement has not come without opposition though, and while this argument is
concentrated behind drones role in technologies machination over society, the true reality is a shift
to mechanization, a progression the United Stateshas seen before. Historically, many economic
shifts have affected the US, including the shift from agrarian society to industrialization in the
Gilded Age, periods which allowed the US to dominate the world economy,... Show more content

In addition, farmers who are subject to working conditions along with the simple nature of human
abilities which detract from their ability to inspect a field compared to technology, are eliminated in
UAV practices of inspection. The benefit transfers down the line of agriculturewhen the product
the farmer was able to grow has ended up at the grocery store, and by the same means, the support
for the drones integration is bound to follow.
More acute compared to the agricultural and rural sectors, is the commercial interest of drones
through manufacturers and retailers like Amazon. These have come in headlines labeled as an
innovation and as an intrusion, bringing more opposition than other areas of use. In an article by
Trevir Nath, it is estimated that every year integration is delayed; the US loses $10 billion in
financial growth (Nath 2). This is undermined by the citizens of Syracuse who believe that as the
nation becomes more accustomed to drones...fewer people will oppose their use in war and in
commercial application that intrude upon American s privacy (Semuels 2). Such strong arguments
have came to light because of the growing drone hub in their area. They worry about the local
economy as well, and more importantly jobs. Dave Kashmer, a protestor, falls under the
opposition, and stated It s not going to produce jobs for a Syracusan... These arguments lend to a
primary consequence of a shift to drone technology a job market shift. Syracusans

Unit 3 Deployment
My experience includes three deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and
one deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). This is an account of the
first few days of my third deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. As a Sergeant, I
deployed to OIF in 2007 with Darkhorse Troop, 6 8 CAV, 3 1 AD. My platoon was composed of
twenty two scouts, a medic, a forward observer (FO), and eight HMMWV s. We received eight
Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs) after six months of the fifteen month
deployment. I was a team leader in my platoon s Bravo section. Our squadron was first assigned
to FOB Falcon. After four months, we were relocated to COP Fish (later renamed COP Derby).
COP Fish was located 10 miles south of FOB Falcon, down a road that was known as Chicken Run.
The COP was surrounded by vast amounts of mud huts, empty fish ponds, and several chicken huts,
where insurgents were known to conduct random attacks on United Statessoldiers. The insurgents
in the area were known to use both direct and indirect fire. Our squadron was tasked to clear all
IEDS, UXOs, and roads within the AO. All of our troop missions worked toward clearing the area
and, occasionally, cataloging the mud huts. Our platoon... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Whaling is Killing Thousands, Bringing Whales to Near...
Since the dawn of civilization, humans ruled earth, taking what they pleased without worrying
about the consequences. Modern society has evolved to understand the fundamental flaw in
consuming the world s resources with abandon. As with the hunting of many other species, whaling
was an unregulated activity. However, in 1986, the world community shifted its stance on whaling
and passed international legislation banning commercial whaling. Dangerously close to being
snuffed out, the whales have begun to claw their way back from extinction. Despite the positive
strides taken on the behalf of whales, the murder of thousands of whales each year is sanctioned by
a number of countries under the guise of scientific research. Moreover, in many... Show more

Despite claiming the slaughter is needed to learn more about whales, Japan has not offered any
new worthwhile information about whales, with the exception that they eat large quantities of
krill (Zelko, 2013, p. A. 13) . Japan has been using this excuse, among many others, since 1986. In
the decades Japan has used this excuse, it seems almost ridiculous that Japan has not learned
anything new about the mammals breeding, migratory, or any other habits. When Australia took
Japan to the International Court of Justice to challenge the validity of Japan s scientific whaling
industry, Australia s agent to the court, Bill Campbell, stated, Japan seeks to cloak its ongoing
commercial whaling in the lab coat of science. He later told journalists: You don t kill 935 whales
a year to conduct scientific research. You don t even need to kill one whale to conduct scientific
research (McCurry, 2013) .
Many whaling countries give the excuse that hunting whales is traditional. In Japan, this
justification is baseless. Japan did not begin whaling until after World War II (Zelko, 2013, p. A.
13) . In other places such as the Faroe Islands, the practice is actually traditional as it has taken
place ever since the Viking settlers arrived there (O Barry, 2013, p. 18) . Traditions are not always
morally correct. Most customs are not harmful, but whaling is not one of them. Hanging African

The Pros And Cons Of Government Regulations
The creation, amendment, rejection or repealing of rules can be defined as rulemaking. Rules are
utilized by numerous sections of the government following a passed statue from Congress which
can also be referred to as regulations. Regulations do not begin in the executive branch of
government where agencies developed. They are created in the Congress, where they are the
factors for the establishment of the agency involved or function of an agency. The rules start with a
legislative act of Congress. Congress has enacted laws such as the Administrative Procedure Act,
the Regulatory Flexibility Act, the Paperwork Reduction Act, and the Unfunded Mandates Reform
Act that require some type of procedure, review, and/or analysis of draft rules by the rule making
agencies themselves or by outside parties (COPELAND, 2008).
Federal government agencies can issue more than four thousand completed rules each year. These
cover ever agency of government. The creation and implementation of rules costs hundreds of
billions of dollars. These are not part of the federal budget process and some think these are greater
than the cost of all federal domestic discretionary spending.
A particular agency can be mandated by Congress once a statue is passed requiring that agency to
develop a specific rule/rules to concede the statute requirements. Congress delivers an authorization
to deploy the rules. This translates to Congress passing a statute and ultimately does not have the

The Sonnet And Early Modern Literature
The beginning of the 1500 s became an important time for the sonnet and early modern literature.
Thomas Wyatt and Henry Howard were the first to introduce the form to England by translating the
sonnets of the overtly influential Italian poet Petrarch, giving a firm foundation for many others
including that of William Shakespeare to expand and contrast. Consisting of fourteen lines, the
sonnetfollows a specific rhyme scheme and rhythm. Although seemingly compact, the sonnet is
used by many to express both the thought and emotion of the poet, from this it is evident that
although superficially short in structure, the poet is still able to elaborate to an extent that touches
the reader making it sincere to the reader at first, however as we... Show more content on

In many ways the sonnet was as much about the cleverness of the poet as it was about his devotion
to his beloved. From this we can see that the formal cleverness does attract the reader as well as its
elaboration, with this being said the sincerity of the sonnet remains a constant theme in the sonnets.
During Shakespeare s sonnets he makes the sincerity of the sonnets known through his use of
illusion, particularly during sonnet 130 where he expresses a somewhat blunt honesty, this
honesty presents the notion of sincerity in Shakespeare s sonnets, however as we explore them
further the insincerity surrounding the sonnets becomes increasingly more evident. Sonnet 130 is
used to shock the audiences with a surprisingly honest outlook in regards to his love as a way of
expressing his view that her inner beauty is more important to him than any of her bodily features.
It could be possible to argue that perhaps Shakespeare s sonnets are sincere and as an alternative it
is Petrarch s sonnets that remain insincere as a result of the unrealistic expectation and the
blindness the narrator feels when referring to the physical attributes of Laura. Shakespeare is
simply demonstrating realism as he speaks of a real woman and not of a flawless unrealistic
woman made from the creation of convention at the time. Therefore, reality remains greatly
significant when we think about perfection, nothing is perfect in this world but rather we are faced

Benjamin Franklin And Booker T Washington Analysis
Benjamin Franklin and Booker T. Washington use their respective autobiographies to document
their experiences in both poverty and politics. These pieces of writing cover the full expanse of
Washington and Franklin s careers, from uneducated children to highly successful adults, and
within them, both men recorded the lessons they had learned and the wisdom they would like to
impart. Throughout their lives, it is clear that though the two individuals were raised in different
times, they share similar stories of personal growth. It is also abundantly clear that both lives were
significantly shaped by women: Franklin and Washington were born from women, married to
women, and funded by women. However, in each biography, every womandescribed in the lives of
these great men share one common facet; they are afterthoughts. These women are mentioned
briefly or in passing, regardless of the impact they left or the change they inspired. Up from Slavery
and The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklinboth portray women as props in the lives of men, and
in reading these autobiographies I have examined both my own life and how it compares to the
other women I ve known.
Benjamin Franklin looks past the many women in his life through his complete lack of

Patrick Henry Speech Summary
On March 23, 1775, Patrick Henry, one of the crucial motivators of the American Revolution,
delivers a speech in the Second Virginia Convention regarding gaining independence from Britain.
Henry s diction, allusions and counterarguments aid in his purpose of making the delegates feel the
tyrannical rule by the British and believing in going to war with them is the only option in attaining
freedom.
Henry s diction portrays the British as untrustworthy and dishonorable. In the beginning of his
speech, Henry states that he considers the need of independence from the British nothing less than a
question of freedom or slavery. The words freedom and slavery are provided as ultimatums in
which one can only have one, not both. The negative connotation conveyed through the word
slavery make the delegates in the convention compare their situation of being ruled by the Britains
to that of a slave and slave owner, leading to the consensus of the immorality displayed by the
British. Therefore the delegates feel the absolute power the British have over the American
colonists which incites a fear over their lack of control. The word freedom is most commonly
associated with something one must fight to win. Through this word, Henry is able to imply to his
audience that the Americans must fight with the Britains in order to gain freedom. In addition,
when describing the military preparations the British are taking, Henry expresses that these war like

that common people have the same dignity and were not inferior to other social classes such as

what is pleasant and idealized to what is its opposite is abrupt and not gradual and it is caused by

Phycoremediation And Environmental Pollution
The rapid growth of human population and industrialization has lead to the environmental
pollution and the world is facing problems with a wide variety of pollution (Kshirsagar, 2013).
The release of wastewater poses serious environmental challenges to the receiving water bodies
(De Bashan et al., 2002). Today, the demand for clean water is increasing worldwide and the main
challenge of wastewatertreatment is not only to produce clean water but it also support new
developments (Velan and Saravanane, 2013). The process of bioremediation depends on the
metabolic potential of microorganisms to detoxify or transform the pollutant, which is further
dependent on accessibility and bioavailability (Bhatnagar and Kumari, 2013). Remediation can be
enhanced by the addition of various microorganisms, called seeding or inoculation, to a polluted
environment to promote increased rate of biodegradation (Antizar Ladislao et al., 2008).
Phycoremediation is the use of micro or macroalgae for the removal or biotransformation of
pollutants, including nutrients and toxic chemicals from wastewater (Olguin, 2003; Mulbry et al.,
2008). It is a novel, low cost and an effective technique that uses simple and economical method as
compared to the other conventional treatments on the basis of nutrient removal (Elumalai et al.,
2013; De La Noue et al., 1992). Phycoremediation is comprised of several applications: (i) nutrient
removal from municipal wastewater and effluents rich in organic matter;

Cost And Purpose Of Sales Promotion
1: INTRODUCTION
1.1. Introduction to sales promotion
Meaning and Purpose of Sales Promotion:
Sales promotion consists of all promotional activities other than advertising, personal selling and
publicity that help to increase sales through non repetitive and one time communication. In other
words, it includes marketing activities other than personal selling, advertising, and publicity, that
stimulate consumer purchasing and dealer effectiveness, such as point of purchase displays, shows
and exhibitions, demonstrations and various non recurring selling efforts not in the ordinary
routine. Purpose: The ultimate aim or purpose of sales promotion is that of increasing the volume

For example, the greater the geographical dispersion of a target market, the greater the
communication expenditure required. Similarly, if an offering is in its early life cycle, there is a
greater need of expenditure. But promotion budget should always justify the tasks to be undertaken.
A basic principle would be the cost and returns of sales promotion tools to be adopted. Hindustan
Lever has its well drawn up sales promotion budget. If any business house does not have its
promotion budget fixed, then promotion programmes will have to be designed to support the
marketing plan.
(vi) Government regulations:
Government has passed various laws and made rules to protect the consumer interest, such as the
prevention of Food Adulteration Act, the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable
Advertisements) Act, and Drugs and Cosmetics Act etc. Sales promotion policy must take into
consideration the government regulations relating to the particular product, e.g. the commodity
rates must be specified on the package and in case of medicines drug contents and date of

Good And Evil In Frankenstein
The novel tells the story of the scientist Victor Frankenstein who loses touch with reality while
creating a new form of life, a monstrous being who nevertheless has human character traits. The
nameless creature appears to be a representation of evil, a character representing unconscious,
instinctual drives. Yet, the creature becomes only a monster due to denied love and rejection by
Victor Frankenstein. Thus, he swears to take revenge, transforming into a monster. Thus,
Frankensteinpresents two characters that cannot be easily determined good or evil as human beings
have both qualities within themselves.
When examining Shelley s Frankenstein, one should consider the figure of the creator, Victor
Frankenstein. He was born to Caroline and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As he reads these old works, Victor is not able to understand that these theories have long been
invalidated. With the ideas of alchemy, the study of the philosopher s stone and the elixir of life, he
leaves his home to study at the university in Ingolstadt, Germany. After the death of his mother
Caroline, he feels the pain of solitude and retreats in the acquisition of knowledge, learning about
the limits of science and the human body.
First, one has the impression that Victor s interests in creating a being is only of honourable
nature: I thought that if I could bestow animation upon lifeless matter, I might in process of time
(although I now find it impossible) renew life where death had apparently devoted the body of
corruption (Shelley 53). However, he seems to be an unreliable narrator. The reader develops
doubts whether his true intentions are as noble as he tries to present. It appears that the true interest
is quite egoistic, as he desires to gain fame:
a light so brilliant and wondrous, yet so simple, that while I became dizzy with the immensity of
the prospect which it illustrated, I was surprised, that among so many men of genius who had
directed their enquiries towards the same science, that I alone should be reserved to discover so
astonishing a secret (Shelley

A Theology of Fly Fishing Essay
A Theology of Fly Fishing
I have been fishing as long as I can remember. It has been a pursuit, an adventure, a call, a
metaphor, a meditation, and a coping mechanism. Being a young boy in the 1960s and 70s,
reading Thor Heyerdahl adventures and watching Jacques Cousteau, National Geographic, and
astronauts orbiting the earth and walking on the moon on television, the spirit of adventure and
the wonder of the natural world were the air I breathed. Moreover, my family was of a religious
bent where my sisters and I were more likely to be told to be quiet and pay attention on a nature
walk than in church. As opposed to the somehow self evident holiness of the sanctuary, my parents
took on the nurturing challenge of opening our eyes to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The unavoidable reality of my sport as a source of spiritual and physical renewal and growth is
that it is essentially a matter of life and death for the fish.
Why fly fish? Is it right to treat a living creature as a plaything for my amusement? Is that what I
am doing? Is my fishing an act of reverence and respect? Or egocentric curiosity? To want to be in
touch with and actually feel and see the beauty of these animals and share in their dimension of
existence? In our drastically shrinking world can I justify this pastime? Or, is it for the very reason
that our entire ecosystem, not to mention the tiny fraction of which is made up of trout streams, is
being grossly ravaged for commercial purposes that our attempts at preservation are so obviously
justified? Or, is all of this just a cheap and insincere rationalization of a blood sport in a day and
age that prefers these confined to movies, video arcades, true crime television shows, and the
overseas news?
In this essay, I will examine two of the more obvious theological questions which confront me when
I am fly fishing or thinking about fly fishing. First, as Judeo Christians do we have a divinely
instituted responsibility for the preservation and cherishing of Creation? And second, how does fly
fishing help us understand, define and shoulder that responsibility?
By definition, theology is talk about God. My readers may feel that equating talk about God

What Was The Age Of Exploration Essay
The Age of Exploration was one of the most influential time periods in European history. This
period lasted from the 15th century and to the early 17th century. From explorers like Magellan
to Columbus. The voyages they took had a great impact on society. Though the desire to simply
explore the unknown and discover new knowledge is a typical human trait, the world s famous
explorers often lacked the funding needed for a ship, supplies, and a crew to get underway on
their journeys. As a result, many turned to their respective governments which had their own
desires for the exploration of new areas. Many nations were looking for goods such as silver and

Determining the Empirical Formula of Magnesium Oxide Essay...
Determining the Empirical Formula of Magnesium Oxide
INTRODUCTION:
The empirical formula is the simplest and lowest whole number ratio of the different atoms in a
sample of compound. To work out the empirical formula, the value of moles of the different atoms
in a compound is needed. Mole is just simply a unit used to measure the amount of atoms, just like
how the unit dozen is used to measure things such as eggs. One mole is 6Гѓ 10^23 atoms and this
number is called the Avogadro number. The mole can be also defined as the number of atoms in
exactly 12g of Carbon.

The Importance Of Team Communication Essay
Abstract The focus of this paper is to show how communication is a very vital and important
factor in a team s success. I will cover how it helps to identify each individual team member s role.
I will discuss how team communication helps everyone in the team to understand the end goal, and
I will also discuss how communicationis a vital part of project planning within the team.
The Importance of Team Communication
Team dynamics is the unseen force that pulls and influences a team to act and react in a certain
way, according to BusinessKnowledgeSource.com (2003). A good team is the one very important
element that makes any company successful. Not only is this important to the employer, but this is

A mission statement is a brief statement with the intention of keeping all members informed of
their purpose and this also helps to communicate to the members what steps are involved in
reaching that desired goal and why these steps are important in the process to achieve the goals
set by the organization for the team to achieve, without this clearly communicated mission
statement it is hard to understand what your purpose is. A team s mission statement basically
establishes the boundaries of your group s work and how they fit into that organization, it just
provides a reasonable and measurable objective for your team s work and lets other groups see
what you are responsible for or not responsible for, it should basically state a list of what is
needed to be accomplished and how to accomplish it. (Levinson, 2008)
A common mistake made by team leaders to often is that every member within a team automatically
understand their role within the team. One of the initial tasks of a team leader is to clearly assign
individual tasks and responsibilities. In order for every member to understand exactly what their
role within the team is, their must be good, open communication from both parties. If a team
member is unclear of their duty, they must communicate with their team leader by asking questions,
this also helps

Fighting Inequality and Oppression with Non-Violence Is...
An unjust law is itself a species of violence. Arrest for its breach is more so. Now the law of
nonviolence says that violence should be resisted not by counter violence but by nonviolence. This
I do by breaking the law and by peacefully submitting to arrest and imprisonment. (Mahatma
Gandhi) Since Americas independence until today people try to find different approaches to defeat
the inequality and the oppression. An old traditional thought is that violence can only be treated
with violence, there is no room left for an analysis of the situation and try to approach it
differently. Yet, there are ways like Gandhi quote states if we have to break the law and accept the
consequences to counter violence by non violence might as well accept this method; either way
people suffer the consequences for breaking the law . On the onther hand, a nonviolencemovement
will shift people view on the positive side rather than the negative side; demonstrating that
nonviolence method will achieve justice in a peaceful way without the consequences of violence.
The best method to advocate justice is by fostering a Non violent character to people and to stand
up against the enemy with intelligence.
Fighting inequality and oppression with violence has being an old school thought that had been
penetrated in the people mid since they were little, and the consequences of such thought had been
showed through the course of history. For instance in the letter from a Birmingham Jail, Martin

A True Miracle Of A Miracle
This story is about a miracle. A true miracle. I was three when my paw paw Tony, my dad s dad,
had a heart attack. This heart attack should have been life ending, had it not been for my paw
paw s co worker. For 30 minutes, this co worker did CPR while waiting for an ambulance. By the
time my parents got to the hospital, my paw paw was breathing on a ventilator. They were told that
there was no hope, that he was not expected to make it even a week.
What happens next? The doctor may have said there was no hope, but my paw paw did not need
hope. He had something much greater on his side. For hours a day, my parents, relatives, friends

  • 3. The Importance Of English As The Official Language During the early 1500s America was pillaged by several European foreigners; for example, the Spanish, French, and British. However, there were tens of thousands of people already occupying America. When Europeans first invaded, over 300 languages were already being spoken and taught by over 562 different tribes. All of these languages were extremely complex and distinct, none of these languages being English. After colonization many of these languages became extinct, even today they are becoming less and less used; thus, wiping away what is left of Native American culture and language. Many American citizens argue that as a nation, English should be recognized as the official language. Even though the majority of people in America speak or understand English, legally placing this as the nation s language will have several negative consequences. For people who side on making it the official language, they feel that communicating with be easier and that allowing there to be no official language will erase American culture. Not only are those statements not true, but they can also be deemed as xenophobic and racist. Constitutionally setting English as the official language can not only promote xenophobia, it can also erase minority culture; moreover, English was not the first or only language spoken in America when it was first being colonized. Native Americans created their own life, culture, and language without the influence of European culture. These people maintained ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Critique Of Sigmund Freud s Psychoosexual Development Theory Psychosexual Development Theory Sigmund Freud s psychosexual development theory states the role of parents with the basic sexual desires of children in developing their personalities. This theory is concerned on the sexual pleasure received from specific body parts and sexual activities. Ku, (2011) argues with Freud s recommendation on encouraging children s tendencies stating that parents will try to guide children toward moderation in all things. Children who complete these stages successfully, grow to be calm and well centered adults (Ku, 2011). However, poor sexual relationships, feeling on inadequacy and guilt about sexuality are also developed due to fixations at this stage. Critiques on Psychosexual Development Theory Though this theory is being criticized, it is still important because many other theories are based on this. According to Ku (2011), Freud s theory helped scientists to have a further look into human behavior development. The major critique on this theory is that this theory is more focused on human sexuality. Cherry (n.d.) states four major critiques to Freud s theory as follows: п‚· Freud was believed to have worked with troubled adults in developing this theory, rather than working with children, п‚· Feminists criticize this theory as this is focused mainly on male development, п‚· Freud s theory is difficult to test scientifically as concepts like libido cannot be measured and tested, and п‚· As there is a long time between childhood and adulthood, it cannot be said that childhood experiences affects adult personality. Conclusion With much critics, psychosexual development theory is still considered important. Parents role ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The United Statesand the Soviet Union were not on good sides. The Soviet Union started spreading communism, and the United States couldn t contain it. There was war. • 8. Similarities Between Krasner And Naim The standard of the popular sovereignty implies, that the authority of a state is to govern itself or another state. When thinking upon our current international political system we can see that it has currently seen better days. According to Stephen Krasner and Moises Naim we can safely presume that many actions need to be taken and a sense of Shared Sovereigntyneeds to be installed. This would not only allow for the greater protection of certain states, but would also account for the interaction of states on an allied level in order to crack down on the Five Wars of Globalization. With the influx of a shared sovereignty according to Krasner and Naim it would create stronger borders and allow for alliances with unlikely states. With the addition of a nuclear arms race according to the New York Times, it states that we could potentially be reviving the Cold War. Having the knowledge that there could be WMD s (weapons of mass destruction) currently underground near my home brings a sense of no security. • 9. Methods of 3D Image Analysis Introduction Since the late 1980s, arguably the most successful method of 3D image analysis has been the model based segmentation approach. This approach, in its most mature form, matches 3D image information to models which describe not only the expected shape and appearance of a structure, but also statistically based information about common variations in the structure of interest. In this way, the natural deviations in organic structures are accounted for in the statistical shape model, or SSM. This literature review seeks to present the present stake of the field in terms of representing structures in this way, through a review of the methods of representing bones. Search algorithms used to locate and align a model to the image data will then be discussed and described. Techniques and algorithms used to model the appearance of bones will be analysed and commented on, including the construction from, and correlation of, bones to their models. Case studies will be mentioned throughout to demonstrate the application of SSMs to image segmentation needs. Finally, some further applications of these models will be expanded upon. Representation of Bones There are a number of methods in which training data for SSMs can be gathered, and all involve some type of volumetric image set to have been obtained. This is done primarily through the modalities of computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging, and sometimes both in conjunction (1). Both binary and fuzzy voxel data can ... • 10. Government Of The People By Abraham Lincoln INTRO Democracy is eloquently described by Abraham Lincoln as government of the people, by the people, for the people . The quote by Lincoln though, is perhaps the most straightforward, compelling explanation ensuring that even the laymen understand the fundamentals of the term. The subject matter that is required in this essay is to determine differences in the quality of democracy. This is regarded as the dependant variable, which is the outcome that needs explanation. This can be explained using the independent variables, the economic factors and cultural factors which will be used to explain the phenomena of the dependant variable. 3 countries will be looked at in this essay to explain the given theories. The countries are Tunisia, Algeria and Libya. All 3 countries have been picked having many similarities but when it comes to the quality of democracy, they vary. All 3 countries are vastly Muslim, they border each other and they are all situated in the north Africa. However the Polity score of each country differs with Tunisia Algeria and Libya scoring 7, 2 and 0 respectively. Libya s polity score was taken that of 2014. In measuring the difference in quality of democracy it needs to be ensured that the countries are as similar as possible therefore enabling the difference in the quality of democracy distinguishable. With the plethora of bonds, funds, stock, etc. available in the market an individual must have sufficient information to make better financial decisions. To make this simple let us today look at (FCCB) foreign currency convertible bond. So what is foreign currency convertible bond (FCCB)? To make things much simpler we have broken the word (FCCB) foreign currency convertible bond into two simple words; foreign currency and convertible bond. Let us look at foreign currency, (FCCB) foreign currency convertible bond is issued in a different currency than the issuer s domestic currency. In other words a company would issue the bond in a different/foreign currency apart from their own national/domestic currency. Therefore the principle payment or ... Disadvantages of foreign currency convertible bond More risk of volatility of the market as more than one economy come into picture. There is a risk of exchange as the interest is to be paid in foreign currency. In other words if the exchange rate increases the issuer will have to pay more to the investors. If the stock price is lower than the redemption amount investors would seek redemption of bond instead of conversion; this may take a toll on the earnings of the company as the company will have to refinance to fulfil the promise of redemption made. Foreign currency convertible bond (FCCB) remains as a liability for the company and it shrinks the current ratio of the company. Conclusion: Though being in practice for a long duration, foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB) have become very popular while raising funds at competitive rates. In India foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB) are considered as foreign direct investment (FDI) by the government of India. Foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB) are the more modern method of raising money for the company, which takes advantage of the economies being truly global. • 12. Democratic Debate Sketch From The Saturday Night Live The piece of satire that I will talk about in this paper is the Democratic debate sketch from the Saturday Night Live episode that aired on October 17, 2015. The main message of this sketch was that the only Democratic Candidates that receive attention and matter are Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. This program was successful because they only asked the two of them questions and at the beginning they were called the real candidates (October). This sketch starts with the candidates introducing themselves. Martin O Malley is first, then Lincoln Chafee followed by Jim Webb. It was successful because by having the moderator only ask Sanders and Clinton questions it was very obvious that they are the main candidates in the democratic race. After studying the possibilities CVS decided to acquire Soma.com and gradually (less than 3 months) turn it into CVS.com. There were many challenges during the process: coordinating a bicoastal organization (Soma.com headquarters were in Seattle and CVS headquarters were in Rhode Island), determining how the reimbursement were going to be handle for online purchases, building brand awareness and increasing traffi c and sales on the new channel (the Web). They are, however, only a minority in the genus, which includes over 200 species of Solenopsis worldwide. Solenopsis are stinging ants and most of their common names reflect this, for example, ginger ants and tropical ants. Many species also are called red ants because of their light brown color, though species of ants in many other genera are similarly named for similar reasons. Examples include Myrmica rubra and Pogonomyrmex barbatus. None of these names applies in all countries nor to all species of Solenopsis, only to Solenopsis species; for example the colloquial names for several species of weaver ants in the genus Oecophylla in Southeast Asia include fire ants because of their red color and painful sting he two genera, however, are not closely related. • 20. Argumentative Essay On The Color Purple According to the Collins Dictionary, the term belittle is when you speak of (something) as less valuable or important than it really is . When evaluating the given definition, the word something is key to the topic that will be delivered. This is because The color Purple by Alice Walker exemplifies the time period between 1910 1940 in which the belittling of women was very common. The word something stands out because during this time period (1910 1940) women were treated as things and not human beings, which is why the definition given by the Collins Dictionary represents more completely the conduct usually men manifested. We can infer that belittling falls into the category of abuse, mainly because when you abuse of someone, either physically or emotionally, you make the person feel inferior and powerless. In order to return to her world safely alongside her parents, Chihiro must survive in the spirit world and play by its rules. Our hero faces great challenges and trials, like... getting a job? Spirited Awaydraws upon many mythic themes, and the ones that I will be talking about are Symbolism and Sacred Spaces. One of the symbols that we are first introduced to in Spirited Away is water. When our hero starts to transition into the world of spirits, something happens off screen. Water suddenly blocks the tunnel that connects the human world and the spirit world. Water also appears to magically surround the perimeter of the bathhouse at its base. Water is also used in the bathhouse to rejuvenate and cleanse spirits that enter. And finally, water comes up again when we see a flashback of what seems to be Chihiro drowning in a river. So what s up with water? Well, throughout the film, water is used to symbolize freedom and captivity. It serves as a literal object that blocks Chihiro s path back to the human world, and also limits movement around the spirit world (we see that Chihiro has to utilize a train system in order to move around the spirit world freely). However, water isn t all that bad. In the scene where Chihiro is faced with the responsibility to clean the stink spirit, inordinate amounts of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. The Cost Of The Asset Under generally accepted accounting principles, assets both tangible and certain intangible assets that have an estimated useful life of more than one year but not infinitely should be allocated and depreciated, amortized or depleted. The cost of the asset needs to be determined as well as any possible salvage or resale value estimated. The total cost of an asset needs to not only include the purchase price of the item but also sales taxes, installation costs, freight and interest (if applicable). Costs currently or that are incurred in the future for maintenance and repairs is only an expense and does not change the value of the asset. Basically, all costs that were necessary to allow the asset to become useful should be capitalized. Depreciation, amortization and depletion are acceptable methods used under U.S. GAAP to charge the cost of an asset used in a company s day to day operations to expense over the periods benefited systematically. Depreciation refers to prorating tangible and intangible asset s cost less any salvage value evenly over the useful life of the asset. For an item to be considered an asset, it must intended for operations of the business and not for resale. Useful life should be reasonable but can vary from one asset to another from one view point to another. In the decades Japan has used this excuse, it seems almost ridiculous that Japan has not learned anything new about the mammals breeding, migratory, or any other habits. When Australia took Japan to the International Court of Justice to challenge the validity of Japan s scientific whaling industry, Australia s agent to the court, Bill Campbell, stated, Japan seeks to cloak its ongoing commercial whaling in the lab coat of science. Rules are utilized by numerous sections of the government following a passed statue from Congress which can also be referred to as regulations. Regulations do not begin in the executive branch of government where agencies developed. They are created in the Congress, where they are the factors for the establishment of the agency involved or function of an agency. The rules start with a legislative act of Congress. Congress has enacted laws such as the Administrative Procedure Act, the Regulatory Flexibility Act, the Paperwork Reduction Act, and the Unfunded Mandates Reform Act that require some type of procedure, review, and/or analysis of draft rules by the rule making agencies themselves or by outside parties (COPELAND, 2008). Consisting of fourteen lines, the sonnetfollows a specific rhyme scheme and rhythm. From this we can see that the formal cleverness does attract the reader as well as its elaboration, with this being said the sincerity of the sonnet remains a constant theme in the sonnets. During Shakespeare s sonnets he makes the sincerity of the sonnets known through his use of illusion, particularly during sonnet 130 where he expresses a somewhat blunt honesty, this honesty presents the notion of sincerity in Shakespeare s sonnets, however as we explore them further the insincerity surrounding the sonnets becomes increasingly more evident. Sonnet 130 is used to shock the audiences with a surprisingly honest outlook in regards to his love as a way of expressing his view that her inner beauty is more important to him than any of her bodily features. It could be possible to argue that perhaps Shakespeare s sonnets are sincere and as an alternative it is Petrarch s sonnets that remain insincere as a result of the unrealistic expectation and the blindness the narrator feels when referring to the physical attributes of Laura. • 38. Benjamin Franklin And Booker T Washington Analysis Benjamin Franklin and Booker T. Washington use their respective autobiographies to document their experiences in both poverty and politics. These pieces of writing cover the full expanse of Washington and Franklin s careers, from uneducated children to highly successful adults, and within them, both men recorded the lessons they had learned and the wisdom they would like to impart. Throughout their lives, it is clear that though the two individuals were raised in different times, they share similar stories of personal growth. It is also abundantly clear that both lives were significantly shaped by women: Franklin and Washington were born from women, married to women, and funded by women. However, in each biography, every womandescribed in the lives of these great men share one common facet; they are afterthoughts. These women are mentioned briefly or in passing, regardless of the impact they left or the change they inspired. Up from Slavery and The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklinboth portray women as props in the lives of men, and in reading these autobiographies I have examined both my own life and how it compares to the other women I ve known. Benjamin Franklin looks past the many women in his life through his complete lack of acknowledgement of the roles they played in shaping him. • 39. Patrick Henry Speech Summary On March 23, 1775, Patrick Henry, one of the crucial motivators of the American Revolution, delivers a speech in the Second Virginia Convention regarding gaining independence from Britain. Henry s diction, allusions and counterarguments aid in his purpose of making the delegates feel the tyrannical rule by the British and believing in going to war with them is the only option in attaining freedom. Henry s diction portrays the British as untrustworthy and dishonorable. In the beginning of his speech, Henry states that he considers the need of independence from the British nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery. The words freedom and slavery are provided as ultimatums in which one can only have one, not both. The negative connotation conveyed through the word slavery make the delegates in the convention compare their situation of being ruled by the Britains to that of a slave and slave owner, leading to the consensus of the immorality displayed by the British. Therefore the delegates feel the absolute power the British have over the American colonists which incites a fear over their lack of control. The word freedom is most commonly associated with something one must fight to win. Through this word, Henry is able to imply to his audience that the Americans must fight with the Britains in order to gain freedom. In addition, when describing the military preparations the British are taking, Henry expresses that these war like preparations ... cover American ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Phycoremediation And Environmental Pollution The rapid growth of human population and industrialization has lead to the environmental pollution and the world is facing problems with a wide variety of pollution (Kshirsagar, 2013). The release of wastewater poses serious environmental challenges to the receiving water bodies (De Bashan et al., 2002). Today, the demand for clean water is increasing worldwide and the main challenge of wastewatertreatment is not only to produce clean water but it also support new developments (Velan and Saravanane, 2013). The process of bioremediation depends on the metabolic potential of microorganisms to detoxify or transform the pollutant, which is further dependent on accessibility and bioavailability (Bhatnagar and Kumari, 2013). Remediation can be enhanced by the addition of various microorganisms, called seeding or inoculation, to a polluted environment to promote increased rate of biodegradation (Antizar Ladislao et al., 2008). Phycoremediation is the use of micro or macroalgae for the removal or biotransformation of pollutants, including nutrients and toxic chemicals from wastewater (Olguin, 2003; Mulbry et al., 2008). To want to be in touch with and actually feel and see the beauty of these animals and share in their dimension of existence? In our drastically shrinking world can I justify this pastime? Or, is it for the very reason that our entire ecosystem, not to mention the tiny fraction of which is made up of trout streams, is being grossly ravaged for commercial purposes that our attempts at preservation are so obviously justified? Or, is all of this just a cheap and insincere rationalization of a blood sport in a day and age that prefers these confined to movies, video arcades, true crime television shows, and the overseas news? • 58. Fighting Inequality and Oppression with Non-Violence Is... An unjust law is itself a species of violence. Arrest for its breach is more so. Now the law of nonviolence says that violence should be resisted not by counter violence but by nonviolence. This I do by breaking the law and by peacefully submitting to arrest and imprisonment. (Mahatma Gandhi) Since Americas independence until today people try to find different approaches to defeat the inequality and the oppression. An old traditional thought is that violence can only be treated with violence, there is no room left for an analysis of the situation and try to approach it differently. Yet, there are ways like Gandhi quote states if we have to break the law and accept the consequences to counter violence by non violence might as well accept this method; either way people suffer the consequences for breaking the law .
