My Love For Dogs Research Paper
Ever since I was a small child I remember my mom blasting her favorite music throughout the house
as she attempted to clean up after my siblings and I. She also found it very entertaining to annoy us by
singing at the top of her lungs as we would travel places in the car. She always listened to classical
music, country music, Patsy Cline, or Phantom of the Opera. As a child I just always told her she was
really weird and went along my way, but secretly on the inside I started to enjoy the types of music
she listened to. Now I find music very intriguing and often notice myself applying certain songs to
different aspects of my life.
Living in the country My entire life I lived in a small town called Mackay, Idaho. We lived about 15
minutes from town with five miles of the road to our house being dirt road. That five miles of dirt road
is my whole life, that s where I learned how to drive, where many rattlesnakes were killed, and where

Living in the country means that we tend to get uninvited visitors coming down from the mountains,
so my parents have always made sure that we have a dog in the yard to help alarm us of any danger. I
was always the one who had to take care of the dogs because they were always my dogs, until about
six years ago when my mom got a cocker spaniel for her birthday. She was only a few months old
when we got her, and she was supposed to go outside after a few nights in the house, but that never
happened, so now she thinks she is the boss of the house. She quickly became one of us and is easily
classified as the youngest child of the family, thus she was named Baby. As mentioned before my
mom loves to walk around singing at the top of her lungs, so she quickly picked up on singing a song
by The Olympics called My Baby Loves a Western Movie. Ever since she started singing that song,
we have all started to give the dog a little chorus as we walk by

Discretion Of The Word Discretion Essay
The etymology of the word Discretion is rooted in the early 1300 s, stemming from Old French
Discrecion or Late Latin Discretionem. Discretion is the noun form of the word Discreet, which is
defined as the quality of being careful about what you do and say so that others will not be offended.
Discretion s Latin roots also define it as to discerne: to separate or distinguish. In my opinion this
sentence refers to having the ability to be prudent, which is a great quality for one to possess because
it helps build character. Discretion is also an integral part of developing interpersonal skills, which in
turn leads to establishing relationships and shows that you are trustworthy. In this essay, I am going to
delve deeper into why discretion is an important value to have, by starting with character composition.
Character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual, though morality is subjective,
in today s society it is predominantly agreed upon that someone who is of good character has certain
qualities that contribute to their decision making, trustworthiness, and intelligence. I previously
mentioned prudence, which is the ability to govern oneself by the use of reason to make good
judgements that allow you to avoid troublesome situations, which allows one to face the adversities of
life while only encountering necessary risks. This is the ultimate show of genuine character, those who
can judge for themselves and aren t afraid to admit their faults, or

Safeguarding Assessment Essay
My Line Manager and I both reflected on our concerns and analysed what we felt about the situation
and agreed these concerns needed to be raised immediately with 2 s Care Co ordinator. Once I
contacted the Care Co ordinator we reviewed again the circumstances around 2 s vulnerabilities. I
wanted to ensure that I had made both my line manager and the Care Co ordinator aware of the factual
information I had been given whilst also seeking a multi discipline professional judgment on what was
the best course of action to take. This would also help me evaluate and analyse 2 s current
safeguarding opportunities such as Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) involvement and

make a further assessment. Following this an Initial Strategy Meeting was arranged under the All
Wales Policy and Procedures for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults. The meeting consisted of a multi
disciplinary team who worked with 2. We were all able to assess 2 s current circumstances such as his
home environment, current mental health state and the support 2 already receives. The outcome of the
meeting was concluded that 2 has the capacity to be able to say no to the alleged people who were
harassing him for money and report any such harassment to the Police. An action plan was devised
where each professional would have a responsibility to help support 2 to stop giving his money away
or to report harassment to the Police. The referral was closed on the basis that the professionals
involved would follow through with the action plan. For me and my team we were to continue to
monitor and review 2 s behavior and encourage 2 to approach staff or contact the Police if he ever
feels threatened or vulnerable towards others. In some respect I appreciate that the multi agency team

How Diversity Makes Us Smarter By Katherine W Phillips
I believe that Diversity plays important roles in our lives. Without diversity, we cannot widen our field
of view. Diversity helps us to open up our eyes and our world. From reading the essay How diversity
makes us smarter , written by Katherine W Phillips, I learned that there are some negative effects
brought up by the social diversity where dialog of inclusion is advanced, but mostly diversity is
something that has positive effect in our society and even individual. I could also reflect and make
connection with my experience of moving from non diverse community to diverse community. I was
born in Japan and spent my life there until seventh grade. Even though my environment was very
fulfilling, my community had little diversity. Everyone was from the same area, we all have same
culture, and same race. Individual could had variety of thought but our basic mind was very similar
since we all grow up in the same environment. I can say that I had little more diversity in my life than
other people around me since my mother was Korean, I had some Korean people around me. Korea is
a country located right next to Japan, but they do have different culture, language, and people. It gave
me a little push to become diverse person. However, there was a big change when I moved to America
as an international student in seventh grade. For the first time in my life, I was surrounded by people
who were not my people . When I walked into the class, everyone had different race, culture,

The Role Of Orientalism In The Tragedy Of Mariam
Political tyranny and male female relationships in Elizabeth Cary s The Tragedy of Mariam (1613)
and Mary Pix s Ibrahim, the Thirteenth Emperor of the Turks (1696).
Orientalism has inspired and still does many works, in many ways, be it literary or any other art forms.
Orientalism could be used as a way to express a desire for the exotic, for sensuality, but at the same
time, it could be used in a darker way as well. A persistent image of the Orient is one where women,
even more than in sixteenth century England, were subdued by men, with little freedom for
themselves. On top of that, the other side of the exotic element is that at the same time, the Oriental
cultures were very strange and alien to Europeans, being not entirely equal, and seen as the other .
In Mary Pix s Ibrahim, the Thirteenth Emperor of the Turks for example, tyranny goes hand in hand
with the subduing of women, ultimately resulting in tragedy, in the case of Ibrahim, for the character
Morena, the ideal submissive woman who is forced to submit to the tyrant s desires against her will.
As with many Orientalism themed works, sensuality and eroticism play a significant role in this play,
as the sultan Ibrahim, who is portrayed as the villain, only seems to care about his desire for women.
Such a tyrant, in combination with a submissive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Phobia Research Papers
Fear, one of the most powerful emotions experienced by many and has served generations after
generations of people, but while serving became an overwhelming universal symbol of disdain, a
feeling born from self preservation, where its designated function has diminished it into a subversive
role of the human condition. Where its horrifying purpose to protect has in some cases become a
burden of irrationality that can be showed in a simple word known as a phobia. A phobia is the caustic
effects of fear and attempting to treat it is going to be the goal of today where techniques will be
showed how to counteract the ill consequences of an out of control emotion.

need to be follow is that there be no physical manifestations symptoms, such as increased heartbeat,

The Mayan Civilization Essay
The Maya civilization was a unique development in history that challenges the common perspective of
humanity and society. It s very classification as a civilization may confuse those who think of a
civilization as a cohesive empire because it was quite fragmentary instead. An isolate built upon the
tribal cultures of Central and South America, the Maya culture operated on a different understanding
of reality and the world than did the Eurasian communities that intermingled and possessed
knowledge of each other. One must take this into account in order to understand the workings of the
Maya. Parallels in their development to other cultures around the world are testament to the nature of
the species Homo sapiens that seems to emerge in any environment. ... Show more content on

San Francisco Essay
The party composition of San Francisco is democrat. This is also true for the San Francisco Hayward
MSA, the bay area, and the overall number of voters in California. The governor of California, Jerry

British Of The British Empire
In the beginning, the colonies were proud to be represented as British; they were happy under the rule
of both the British Empire and with the institution of monarchy. However, by 18th century, the
colonies came to believe that they needed to break away from the British empire. For the colonies,
being part of the British Empire meant that there were advantages as well as eventual disadvantages.
The advantage was that, since the colonies were part of the British empire, they could trade with the
richest empire on earth; there was an economic advantage. And, the colonies were relatively safe
because the British Empire had the strongest military nation in the world at that time, which helped
protect the colonies. The eventual disadvantage was that, colonists had to obey a variety of rules
imposed by the British, especially the rule concerning trade. In addition, the British did not consider
those living in their colonies, or in other colonies, as citizens who should be represented in the British
Parliament. Therefore, the colonist s people s demands were disregarded. For example, even though
the colonies wanted full rights as British citizens, the British refused to do so. Thus, the colonies had
less political power compared to the people in Europe. In addition, since the British were not able to
agree to the colonist s prime demand, the colonies developed a separate and unique American identity.
Therefore, over a period of time, colonists went from viewing themselves

The Golden Age And The Golden Age
I have found myself thinking back to the first grade when comparing my time in that period of my life
to the golden age. In the first grade I relied on people more than ever for the basic necessities that I
needed at that time. I was sent to Bancroft Elementary School and it is located in Andover,
Massachusetts. At this point I was somewhat unknowingly guided through the first grade and it ended
up sharing many similarities with the golden age. The golden age is when man did not have to worry
about what is needed in the basic human life, this includes fighting, food, shelter, and justice. In this
young grade I recall vividly of not having a worry for any necessities that play a key part in everyday
life. When I was told to go to lunch I ended up eating the food given, but I was knowledgeable on how
it got on my plate; moreover, there seemed to be peace and a lack of physical violence throughout the
grade. This thought of having peace, food, little work, and having a roof over your head in the first
grade shares many similarities with what man experienced in the golden age.
In the first grade I did not understand the idea where justice and peace develops from; however,
reflecting on this now I can understand how this is something that I would have found to be
insignificant while being in the first grade. When I went to the first grade the safety protocols were not
as commonly practiced as they are current day. I had felt a sense of safety even though I may not have

Goal Vs. Team Goals For Older Athletes
It is difficult to say which goal is more important. I think it is very dependent on the age of the
athletes. I think for younger athletes who are still learning, the more important goal should be for
personal achievement in development, success, performance, and behavior. The team goals should be
acknowledged, but the goals should be within the abilities of the athletes. For older athletes in a more
professional setting, I think the overall goal for the team should be the main focus. Again, with
personal goals not falling to the side, but with a main focus on team goals. If I had to give up one to
achieve the other, I think letting go of the team goals for athletes personal success is more important.
Again, this has to do with the team goal

Pornography Analysis

analyzing the rhetorical appeals of the writer and explaining on why I agree it should be published.

In reality, ruin porn is a recent movement in photography that takes the decline of the built
environment (cities, buildings, infrastructure) as its subject to make it into this aesthetic photo to be

are able to evoke a feeling of empathy to the audience by signaling that although the photographs of
Detroit seem aesthetic , these are the enduring struggles of Detroit citizens. If reading that those

Irony In The Interlopers By Saki
The Interlopers is a short story written by Saki which details a feud between two men, Ulrich von
Gradwitz and Georg Znaeym over a strip of land in a forest on the Carpathians. They plan to fight to
the death when they come across each other in the woods, but end up being pinned down by a large
tree. Eventually, they resolve their feud while they re stuck under the tree and become hopeful as they
hear a noise, assuming it s their fellow hunters coming to save them. It turns out to be a pack of
wolves, which allows the reader to assume the pair get killed in the end. Saki uses irony in this short
story to show that one should let their past be the past and not let it interfere with the present and
future. Irony is a situation in which actions have an effect that is opposite from what was intended, so
that the outcome is contrary to what was expected (Dictionary.com). ... Show more content on

they were trapped by it, with nowhere else to go. The two, of course, came to a mutual agreement to

State Terrorism As A Form Of Political Violence
State terrorism is defined as, terrorism committed by a national government, inside of its national
borders and directed at its own people and sometimes visitors (Taylor Swanson, 2016 P. 162). Most
military dictorships tend to maintain the power through terror; this paralyzes society through violence

violence in many ways that us as civilians cannot. The main purpose of state terrorism is to install this
fear in citizens, this way they consolidate the living regimes power, and keep maintain the control over
the country s population. However, some do not see state terrorism as terrorism, if not just as a form of

Essay On Cancer Insurance
When a patient hears the word cancer, his or her mind often enters complete shock. Then, the
questions of, How serious? Is it treatable? What can I do? How long do I have? emerge. Patients
should not have to ask, How much will this cost? Instead, they should have peace of mind knowing
that some of their expenses will be covered by a very basic health insurance plan; however, this is
often not the case.
Unfortunately, Mary Casey, a 57 year old Missouri native, experienced the exact opposite of peace of
mind when she was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma. Even though Casey had a health care
policy with some basic cancer coverage, her insurance company, Coventry Health Care of Kansas,

Because many insurance companies are privately owned, each corporation is able to determine what
they choose to cover for each plan and often require an extra plan for cancer coverage. However, the
Affordable Care Act calls for preventative services such as mammograms, cancer screenings, and
tobacco cessation interventions. Even though an individual has health insurance, meets all the co pays,
deductibles, completes preventative measures, and other requirements of the agency, there is no
guarantee that the provider with start paying for cancer treatment the day the individual is diagnosed.
This needs to change. The federal government needs to enact a new public policy that requires each
insurance company to cover certain cancer treatments, even in their most basic plans. The federal
government will decide which treatments are covered to ensure that cases, such as Mary Casey s and
Angie Schacher s do not occur. By implementing this new policy, every individual will have cancer
coverage, will no longer need to think about buying additional plans, and may receive peace of mind
when struck with a life changing

Example Of Communicative Language Teaching
Have you chosen one of the best ways to teach your students today? Which one did you prepare? It
will be better to choose Communicative Language Teaching as one of the approaches in teaching
English. Communicative Language Teaching or CLT derived from communicative competence
(Hymes, 1971). It is a teaching approach which has goals, teachers and learners roles, process of
learning language, and also can facilitate learning activities (Richards, 2006). CLT underlines
interaction between students. In the Communicative Language Teaching classroom, the teacher has a
role as a facilitator who will only facilitate the learning process, not become a model. Moreover, the
students are going to be more active in learning the language (Richards, 2006). Thus, CLT is a ...

pronunciation is unclear, the teacher can fix it directly. Briefly, by increasing speaking ability, students

Communicative Language Teaching is a teaching method that highlights interaction of students. It is a
good way to be applied for students because it can build cooperation among students by working

would be to make an automobile look like a horse or a motorcycle like a man.
Weygers first got the idea for his flying machine in 1927 when he was working as a nautical engineer.
The concept was inspired not by a bird, but a dolphin.
It was early one morning at sea when he observed with fascination a dolphin that appeared to swim
effortlessly in front of the ship.
He kept it up for at least 10 minutes, Weygers said. I asked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The dolphin wasn t swimming at all. It was actually riding on a cushion of water. The ship, as it
moved through the ocean, pushed a wave of water ahead of it, and the dolphin was riding that wave.
The idea of riding a wave lingered in Weygers brain, even as his life went through an abrupt change. A
shattered man after his wife died in childbirth in 1927, his sorrow deepened when his family was
captured by the Japanese.
Desperate the help them, Weygers was told it was nearly impossible to access the prison camps due to
Java s rugged terrain. With this news, the flame for Weygers flying machine was lit again. World War
II was the first all out air war, and there was a clear need to develop short or vertical take off aircraft.
When he returned to the United States, Weygers joined Marian in Los Angeles, where he wound up
working for Northrop Aviation before moving to Carmel Valley. The helicopter was just being
developed and Weygers was attracted to the project.
Instinctively Weygers realized that helicopters were highly vulnerable. They had ungainly boxlike
shapes and their exposed rotors were clearly a weak

In The Alpha Term Sheet
Key Assumptions Expect Trendsetter to grow quickly Revenue performance hurdles will be met
(Alpha) No dividends are declared This is the first round of negotiations and both parties are open to
at least one more round Number of Shares The number of shares held by the founders is a very
important point they can try to renegotiate. In the Alpha term sheet the founders have a percentage
ownership of 34% if the revenues hurdle of $500,000 is met. The founders hold 32.6% if the revenue
hurdle is not met. Mega has no such revenue hurdle thus, with the number of shares outlined in the
term sheet, the founders own 37.5%. Negotiation: In the Alpha term sheet a higher number of shares
for the founders would be preferable. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The negotiation with Mega would be to outline the voting rights. In particular I would want to outline
common voting rights for approval on (1) any merger or acquisition of the company irrespective of
whether state corporation law grants them such a right; (2) the creation of any new securities senior to
or on a parity with their preferred stock; (3) any amendment to the articles of incorporation that would
affect the rights of the preferred stock; or (4) changes to any of the rights and preferences agreed to in
the preferred stock sale. These basic voting rights should be agreed upon before the closing documents
are outlined. If possible, I would also want Mega to outline any other possible voting rights they want
included in the contract as we are negotiating the term. I prefer to negotiate this term now rather than
leave it for the closing. Board Composition Alpha and Mega both outline boards with 5 members.
Alpha: 2 VC, 1 CEO, 2 Co, and last board seat goes to VC if the company does not meet the
performance hurdle. Mega: 2 VC, 1 CEO, 2 Co (1choice, 1 board). Negotiation: Given the assumption
we will meet our hurdle with Alpha, both VC s offer agreeable terms for the board composition. I
would negotiate to have the last board member under Alpha appointed by Trendsetter but agreeable to
all.

Heroin Addiction Paper
Heroin is a highly addictive illegal drug, derived from morphine and used by millions of users around
the world. It is a naturally occurring opiate found in opium poppies and is primarily grown in
Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia, Mexico, and Columbia (National, 2015), but has been illegal in the
United States since the early 1900 s. In its purest form, heroin is a fine white powder, but more often,
it is found to be rose gray, brown or black in color (Foundation, 2016). The coloring comes from
additives which have been used to dilute it (Foundation, 2016). These dilutes can include sugar,
caffeine or other substances (Foundation, 2016). In medicine, diamorphine, the main product found in
heroin, is used to treat sever pain, such as from a heart ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most common effects of heroin addiction include liver disease, skin disease, clouded mental
functions, collapsed/scarred veins, blood clots, stroke, respiratory depression, seizures (Delta, 2016).
When people inject heroin, they are at risk of serious, long term viral infections such as HIV, Hepatitis
C, and Hepatitis B, as well as bacterial infections of the skin, bloodstream, and heart (Centers for
Disease and Control, 2015). Street heroin is sometimes cut with strychnine or other poisons
(Foundation, 2016). The various additives do not fully dissolve, and when they are injected into the
body, can clog the blood vessels that lead to the lungs, kidneys or brain (Foundation, 2016). This can
lead to infection or destruction of vital organs. Other common effects of heroin addiction include
overdose and in many unfortunate cases, death. People often use heroin along with other drugs or
alcohol. This practice is especially dangerous because it increases the risk of overdose (CDC, 2015). A
heroin overdose can cause slow and shallow breathing, coma, and possible death (CDC, 2015). Like
many other chemical dependencies, heroin addiction is a chronic, relapsing brain disease with a wide
range of medical consequences and severe withdrawal symptoms (Pew, 2015). Addicts fear the
unfavorable effects of withdrawal and often times do not have the proper health support to overcome

Military Strengths
Mumbles of military cadence and grumbles of frustration were all that could be heard as the formation
entered its fourth mile of the tedious run. Feet throbbed, shins burned, knees felt swollen from the
rhythmic beating they were being subjected to. The less talented runners struggled to stay with the
group, the more capable ones yearned to be released from the slow moving herd. Both had one thing
in common; they could not wait for this run to be over. Most members of the military can relate
intimately to the scenario previously described. What most of them may not now, however, is that
there is a better way for them to develop their running skills and overall fitness level without having to
drudge through the grueling monotony that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A military.com article by Stew Smith details, We know that hard heel strikes are a result of over
striding and can lead to many foot, knee, and shin injuries. Also the heel strike in front of the body can
limit your momentum and slow you down significantly. (Smith) The current military mindset places
much more emphasis on the do and not nearly enough on the how . Most adults have adopted poor
running form over years of drawing upon techniques that they ve heard somewhere, not knowing the
validity of the information they are trusting. There is a tendency to overthink how to run which leads
to implementation of poor mechanics and form. In comparison, watching a young child run will
typically demonstrate the unaltered natural running form that the body was designed for.
Unfortunately, it is very difficult for an adult to unlearn bad habits. Instead, it is necessary to learn
new techniques and practice them until they become natural again. There are numerous training
classes and drills becoming readily available to service members to develop, or fix their running form.
Studies have already shown a reduction in the number of injuries being sustained from physical
training at several military installations. Many physical therapy programs have adopted the POSE
running technique and are incorporating it in the Army s Master Fitness Trainer course at installations
across the world in an effort to educate the community on proper form and injury prevention. The last
key to increased performance and longevity is routine stretching drills. Along with form drills,
stretching and flexibility drills also promote greater muscular recovery and development in addition to
increased injury prevention. Essentially, if the military is going to remain steadfast in its dedication to
conducting daily physical training, they

Making Music With Different Online Programs
Making Music with Different Online Programs: High School student tries to become a Record
Producer
1. THE INTRODUCTION
I ve listened to a lot of music in my 514,561,058 seconds of life.
Of course the beginning first few years of my life did not consistent of heavy articulation and rhythm
interpretation, rather it was to see if I could sing back the ABC s or mumble the Arthur theme song to
my sister.
Most of the music influence I have was harvested back when I was eleven. I listened to a wide variety
of genres of music from pop, to rock, to rap, to country, to concert band music, even to Bollywood
music as that s what would be playing in my home as my mom cooked food for all of us.
The audio quality of the music always interested me. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I learned the correlation between blowing into an instrument and the sounds that come out.
This really changed my perception about music. I found myself enjoying the classical music that I
would be playing on my clarinet, but I always kept it in correlation with the new sounds and
technology music was sounding like. The new electronic based sounds created on the computer with
the melodies and movement like a classical piece set that a part for me. I think this was generated by
sounds from Kanye West and his albums such as Graduation, and 808s Heartbreaks, even the blending
of genres from Coldplay between pop tunes and classical music using implications such as organs,
bells, and synthesizers in doing so.
So what I ended up learning and continue to learn is I that like music really no matter what condition
it comes in. The examination of the work that takes place behind it demonstrates more than what
someone on the internet can tell me about how bad an album is or how weak the lyrics are. Of course
there s some analysis if a song is deemed as good or bad, but I always respect the work that is done in
order to produce music.
2. WHY I M DOING THIS?
I was given the opportunity to generate music on the computer. I wasn t necessary handed or forced
into doing this, but when the opportunity came, I decided to take it. My computer science teacher, the

Dance Aesthetics
Oww, I winced as my knee buckled for about the millionth time that day as I tried to practice my
pirouettes for the dance audition starting in a couple of minutes. Come on I thought to myself
wondering why my knee chose this exact time, this was important, I needed to nail this audition so
that I could earn myself a spot in Company 2 this year. It was heart wrenching to think that I could be
in Company 1 in 7th grade! Get in order according to your number, the dance teacher noted and I did
as fast as I could, everyone knew that auditions were a non nonsense matter. Finally, the audition
started, the Dance Instructor lead the stretching routine and then told us to go across the floor, he

At that point my knee felt fine and I was dancing my hardest. Then it was time to learn a combination,
this was the hardest part because you had to know the dance, the counts, do the steps , and stay on the
right timing because if you got all jumbled up and forgot the choreography, it was pretty challenging
to recover. Groups! The Dance Teacher yelled and we divided ourselves into four groups. Group 1 on
the floor! Here I go, I thought, as I stepped onto the dance floor, now was my time to do the routine
full out because I had extra space since there were less people dancing, but also if I messed up, I
would stick out like a sore thumb! I went through the counts and steps in my head, then the music
started. I danced and followed the steps, now it was time for a double pirouette which is super easy,
but then my leg buckled it was stick straight, that s when I fell out of my pirouette and the music
sounded muffled, my vision, foggy. I snapped back into it even though the pain was harsh, but that

Upper Extremity Robotic Analysis
As of 2016, approximately 795,000 people have experienced a stroke, with an individual experiencing
a stroke nearly every 40 seconds (Mozaffarian et al., 2016). The American Heart Association (2013)
predicts that the number of individuals who will have a stroke will increase 20% by 2030. The
increased prevalence of stroke may lead to serious issues in daily functioning for individuals;
therefore, stroke interventions that address functional impairments are crucial. Upper extremity
robotics is a relatively novel occupational therapy (OT) intervention for stroke rehabilitation, so
critical examination of the effect of robotics to address body structure/function impairments, activity
limitations, and participation restrictions is required (World ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Occupational therapists working with the stroke population use activity analysis and observation skills
to identify and analyze the functional impairments that result in activity limitations (McHugh
Pendleton Schultz Krohn, 2011). Established and effective OT interventions, such as repetitive task
training (RTP) and constraint induced movement therapy (CIMT), are used to address functional
impairments in the stroke population (Nilsen, Gillen, Arbesman, Lieberman, 2015; Wolf et al., 2006).
According to the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (2012), 60.7% of
registered OTs provide rehabilitation services to individuals who had been diagnosed with a Cerebral
Vascular Accident (CVA). A systematic review (Nilsen et al., 2015) found that the responsibilities of
an occupational therapist include administering a variety of assessments to create an occupational
profile when treating an individual following a stroke. One example of an OT assessment that
measures participation, one s involvement in a life situation (WHO, 2001), is the Canadian
Occupational Performance Measure (COPM), which asks the client to identify up to five occupations
he or she would like improve performance for, and rate his or her perceived performance and
satisfaction of these occupations (Law et al., 2014). Performance skills and client factors are often
evaluated with Fugl Meyer Assessment and the Action Research Arm Test to further assess
functionality of the upper extremity with respect to neuromusculoskeletal functions, sensory functions,
and motor skills (Fugl Meyer, Jaasko, Leyman, Olsson, Steglind, 1975; Lyle, 1981; Nilsen et al.,

Lenin s Legacy Of The Soviet Revolution
Lenin s Legacy
History will not forgive Revolutionaries for procrastinating when they could be victorious today, while
they risk losing much tomorrow, in fact, they risk losing everything (Vladimir Lenin. Call to Power).
Lenin was a persistent Russian ruler who wished to instill his communist views in Russian society at
all costs. He was influential in motivating his followers to rise up and overthrow Russia s weak
government which lead to the reformation of Russia s weak economy. Although Lenin faced opposing
forces from the West, he was able to institute a number of reforms which boosted Russia s broken
economy and led to the transformation of Russia from a war struck country into an economically
stable power, prior to his death.
Prior to Lenin coming into power, Russia s corrupt government was stuck in a state of war with
Germany along with other Western European powers which ultimately led to the revolts of angry
Russians due to famine and political issues. The Russo Japanese war began the first Russian
revolution in 1905 when Russia suffered a tragic loss on the battlefield (Vladimir Lenin. World
History). The Russian loss to Japan forced the government to give up on its expansionist policy
resulting in the government losing its followers. This was the most devastating defeat Russia has ever
faced to a non European force and proved Czar Nicholas unfit to rule the nation. To restore order
within the society, Czar Nicholas instituted the October Manifesto, which

Food Safety Inspection Service Ethics
Traditional homestyle foods have completely changed. From growing our own crops and taking the
time to properly cook our own food, to buying processed foods at shopping markets or simply going
out to eat at fast food drive thru s. It is safe to say that us humans used to eat healthy, but as time has
passed we have let food industries manipulate and complicate our minds with marketing and food
labels. Especially when regarding meat. We still seem to be mostly concerned about the intake of meat
consumption while not even hesitating to question where exactly it came from or if it is even safe
enough for us to consume. Food recalls and food inspections are great steps to ensuring one s better
health, but regulations should really be of our concern. It should be aware that the USDA s Food
Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) has regulated meat and poultry processing for over a century now.
The reason for doing so is to prevent chemicals, harmful substances, and pathogens from entering our
daily food products. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Levy, M.D., who has studied the subject for years, estimates that there are 15 17 million pounds of

should not be treated. The biggest controversy however, is the fact that antibiotics are used to treat
human illnesses, but they are administering them to food animals. The subtherapeutic use of
antibiotics in food animals can pose a health risk to humans. For example, If a group of animals is
treated with a certain antibiotic over time, the bacteria living in those animals will become resistant to
that drug. Concern about the growing level of drug resistant bacteria has led to the banning of
subtherapeutic use of antibiotics in meat animals in many countries in the European Union and

competitiveness and the economy slowed. The government loosened monetary policies to counteract
this and stimulate the economy.  The supply of money expanded, this money was invested in

(b) Japanese investors do not see any better investment options. In theory they could invest in foreign
markets. But in practice there has been strong home bias in investment, and many large pension funds
etc have been managed by bureaucrats who have been very conservative. International conditions
have been very volatile and Japanese yen has been seen as a safe haven currency because Japan as a
country is not an indebted country, say like the US. So, the currency has tended to be quite strong,
often appreciating; this reduced the attraction of investing abroad. 4. Why is the Japanese government
in debt, but Japan is a net saver? Recall national income accounts. National savings are not the same
as government savings. National savings = private sector (households + corporates) savings +
government savings. Household and corporate savings have been, until very recently, consistently
higher than government borrowings, though household savings have been coming down in line with
demographic trends (aging population). Corporations (firms) have overall some have invested in
foreign countries through FDI felt that investment options in Japan are poor, so they have been saving
rather than investing. 5. Why have corporate savings increased in Japan, and what does it indicate
about business expectations?

The Theory And Major Components Of Gas Chromatography
A gas chromatograph (GC) is an analytical instrument in which measures the content of a variety of
constituents within a sample. The analysis in which a gas chromatograph is operated is called gas
chromatography. Figure 1 below is a basic representation of the instrument and the following
statement is a simple representation of the overall process of a GC: It is a technique in which a sample
solution is injected into the instrument through a septum, where it introduced into a gas stream that
transports the sample into a separation tube known as a column. The assorted components of the
sample are separated within the column. After the separation has been completed within the column a
detector will quantitatively measure each of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The selection of the gas is important, as each performs differently with the type of detector that is
being operated. The three most commonly selected gases for an experiment involving a gas
chromatograph are hydrogen, helium, and nitrogen. Diffusivity and viscosity are two characteristics
that will influence the performance of these gases.
The diffusion coefficient, also called diffusivity is a parameter that is indicative of the diffusion
mobility that is, it presents a mechanism for measurement for the diffusion speed of a solute s vapor in
a gas. The speed of chromatography is determined by the diffusion speed of the solute in the carrier
gas. A molecule evaporating from the stationary phase and proceeding into the stream of gas should be
capable of diffusing back into the stationary phase before having to undergo the partitioning process
again. It is this diffusion of molecules that set apart the gases. In order to obtain a good separation, the
most desired carrier gases are those that come in contact with the column a significant number of
times. There is a limit to this however, the more time that the gas is given for radial diffusion
(diffusion in the direction of the stationary phase), the more time there is for band broadening
(longitudinal diffusion). For this reason there is an optimal gas velocity, where it supplies maximum
contact with the stationary phase and minimum band broadening in the gas phase.
Figure 2: Diffusion of a molecule in the gas

10. The Battle of Calabria, (known to the Italian Navy as the Battle of Punta Stilo) was a naval battle
during the Battle of the Mediterranean in World War II. It was fought between the Italian Royal Navy
(Regia Marina) and the British Royal Navy and the Royal Australian Navy. The battle occurred 30
miles to the east of Punta Stilo, the toe of Italy (Calabria), on 9 July 1940.
11 When World War II opened, it was much to the surprise of the Italian forces who, like many in
Europe, did not expect conflict until 1941 at the earliest. At the time their forces in Libya were ill
equipped for war, and the Italian fleet was forced to start large supply operations in order to bring
them up to fighting condition.

  • 2. My Love For Dogs Research Paper Ever since I was a small child I remember my mom blasting her favorite music throughout the house as she attempted to clean up after my siblings and I. She also found it very entertaining to annoy us by singing at the top of her lungs as we would travel places in the car. She always listened to classical music, country music, Patsy Cline, or Phantom of the Opera. As a child I just always told her she was really weird and went along my way, but secretly on the inside I started to enjoy the types of music she listened to. Now I find music very intriguing and often notice myself applying certain songs to different aspects of my life. Living in the country My entire life I lived in a small town called Mackay, Idaho. We lived about 15 minutes from town with five miles of the road to our house being dirt road. That five miles of dirt road is my whole life, that s where I learned how to drive, where many rattlesnakes were killed, and where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Living in the country means that we tend to get uninvited visitors coming down from the mountains, so my parents have always made sure that we have a dog in the yard to help alarm us of any danger. I was always the one who had to take care of the dogs because they were always my dogs, until about six years ago when my mom got a cocker spaniel for her birthday. She was only a few months old when we got her, and she was supposed to go outside after a few nights in the house, but that never happened, so now she thinks she is the boss of the house. She quickly became one of us and is easily classified as the youngest child of the family, thus she was named Baby. As mentioned before my mom loves to walk around singing at the top of her lungs, so she quickly picked up on singing a song by The Olympics called My Baby Loves a Western Movie. Ever since she started singing that song, we have all started to give the dog a little chorus as we walk by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Discretion Of The Word Discretion Essay The etymology of the word Discretion is rooted in the early 1300 s, stemming from Old French Discrecion or Late Latin Discretionem. Discretion is the noun form of the word Discreet, which is defined as the quality of being careful about what you do and say so that others will not be offended. Discretion s Latin roots also define it as to discerne: to separate or distinguish. In my opinion this sentence refers to having the ability to be prudent, which is a great quality for one to possess because it helps build character. Discretion is also an integral part of developing interpersonal skills, which in turn leads to establishing relationships and shows that you are trustworthy. In this essay, I am going to delve deeper into why discretion is an important value to have, by starting with character composition. Character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual, though morality is subjective, in today s society it is predominantly agreed upon that someone who is of good character has certain qualities that contribute to their decision making, trustworthiness, and intelligence. I previously mentioned prudence, which is the ability to govern oneself by the use of reason to make good judgements that allow you to avoid troublesome situations, which allows one to face the adversities of life while only encountering necessary risks. This is the ultimate show of genuine character, those who can judge for themselves and aren t afraid to admit their faults, or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Safeguarding Assessment Essay My Line Manager and I both reflected on our concerns and analysed what we felt about the situation and agreed these concerns needed to be raised immediately with 2 s Care Co ordinator. Once I contacted the Care Co ordinator we reviewed again the circumstances around 2 s vulnerabilities. I wanted to ensure that I had made both my line manager and the Care Co ordinator aware of the factual information I had been given whilst also seeking a multi discipline professional judgment on what was the best course of action to take. This would also help me evaluate and analyse 2 s current safeguarding opportunities such as Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) involvement and balance the safeguarding concerns of a vulnerable adult with the probability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The following day a member from the agency contact me to discuss the referral into more detailed information on 2. The agency member informed me she would be referring the matter to the CMHT to make a further assessment. Following this an Initial Strategy Meeting was arranged under the All Wales Policy and Procedures for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults. The meeting consisted of a multi disciplinary team who worked with 2. We were all able to assess 2 s current circumstances such as his home environment, current mental health state and the support 2 already receives. The outcome of the meeting was concluded that 2 has the capacity to be able to say no to the alleged people who were harassing him for money and report any such harassment to the Police. An action plan was devised where each professional would have a responsibility to help support 2 to stop giving his money away or to report harassment to the Police. The referral was closed on the basis that the professionals involved would follow through with the action plan. For me and my team we were to continue to monitor and review 2 s behavior and encourage 2 to approach staff or contact the Police if he ever feels threatened or vulnerable towards others. In some respect I appreciate that the multi agency team have assessed the information they have received and concluded that 2 does have capacity and in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. How Diversity Makes Us Smarter By Katherine W Phillips I believe that Diversity plays important roles in our lives. Without diversity, we cannot widen our field of view. Diversity helps us to open up our eyes and our world. From reading the essay How diversity makes us smarter , written by Katherine W Phillips, I learned that there are some negative effects brought up by the social diversity where dialog of inclusion is advanced, but mostly diversity is something that has positive effect in our society and even individual. I could also reflect and make connection with my experience of moving from non diverse community to diverse community. I was born in Japan and spent my life there until seventh grade. Even though my environment was very fulfilling, my community had little diversity. Everyone was from the same area, we all have same culture, and same race. Individual could had variety of thought but our basic mind was very similar since we all grow up in the same environment. I can say that I had little more diversity in my life than other people around me since my mother was Korean, I had some Korean people around me. Korea is a country located right next to Japan, but they do have different culture, language, and people. It gave me a little push to become diverse person. However, there was a big change when I moved to America as an international student in seventh grade. For the first time in my life, I was surrounded by people who were not my people . When I walked into the class, everyone had different race, culture, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Role Of Orientalism In The Tragedy Of Mariam Political tyranny and male female relationships in Elizabeth Cary s The Tragedy of Mariam (1613) and Mary Pix s Ibrahim, the Thirteenth Emperor of the Turks (1696). Orientalism has inspired and still does many works, in many ways, be it literary or any other art forms. Orientalism could be used as a way to express a desire for the exotic, for sensuality, but at the same time, it could be used in a darker way as well. A persistent image of the Orient is one where women, even more than in sixteenth century England, were subdued by men, with little freedom for themselves. On top of that, the other side of the exotic element is that at the same time, the Oriental cultures were very strange and alien to Europeans, being not entirely equal, and seen as the other . In Mary Pix s Ibrahim, the Thirteenth Emperor of the Turks for example, tyranny goes hand in hand with the subduing of women, ultimately resulting in tragedy, in the case of Ibrahim, for the character Morena, the ideal submissive woman who is forced to submit to the tyrant s desires against her will. As with many Orientalism themed works, sensuality and eroticism play a significant role in this play, as the sultan Ibrahim, who is portrayed as the villain, only seems to care about his desire for women. Such a tyrant, in combination with a submissive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Where its horrifying purpose to protect has in some cases become a burden of irrationality that can be showed in a simple word known as a phobia. It s very classification as a civilization may confuse those who think of a civilization as a cohesive empire because it was quite fragmentary instead. An isolate built upon the tribal cultures of Central and South America, the Maya culture operated on a different understanding of reality and the world than did the Eurasian communities that intermingled and possessed knowledge of each other. One must take this into account in order to understand the workings of the Maya. • 10. British Of The British Empire In the beginning, the colonies were proud to be represented as British; they were happy under the rule of both the British Empire and with the institution of monarchy. However, by 18th century, the colonies came to believe that they needed to break away from the British empire. For the colonies, being part of the British Empire meant that there were advantages as well as eventual disadvantages. The advantage was that, since the colonies were part of the British empire, they could trade with the richest empire on earth; there was an economic advantage. And, the colonies were relatively safe because the British Empire had the strongest military nation in the world at that time, which helped protect the colonies. The eventual disadvantage was that, colonists had to obey a variety of rules imposed by the British, especially the rule concerning trade. In addition, the British did not consider those living in their colonies, or in other colonies, as citizens who should be represented in the British Parliament. Therefore, the colonist s people s demands were disregarded. For example, even though the colonies wanted full rights as British citizens, the British refused to do so. • 11. The Golden Age And The Golden Age I have found myself thinking back to the first grade when comparing my time in that period of my life to the golden age. In the first grade I relied on people more than ever for the basic necessities that I needed at that time. I was sent to Bancroft Elementary School and it is located in Andover, Massachusetts. At this point I was somewhat unknowingly guided through the first grade and it ended up sharing many similarities with the golden age. The golden age is when man did not have to worry about what is needed in the basic human life, this includes fighting, food, shelter, and justice. In this young grade I recall vividly of not having a worry for any necessities that play a key part in everyday life. When I was told to go to lunch I ended up eating the food given, but I was knowledgeable on how it got on my plate; moreover, there seemed to be peace and a lack of physical violence throughout the grade. This thought of having peace, food, little work, and having a roof over your head in the first grade shares many similarities with what man experienced in the golden age. In the first grade I did not understand the idea where justice and peace develops from; however, reflecting on this now I can understand how this is something that I would have found to be insignificant while being in the first grade. When I went to the first grade the safety protocols were not as commonly practiced as they are current day. I had felt a sense of safety even though I may not have been able ... • 12. Goal Vs. Team Goals For Older Athletes It is difficult to say which goal is more important. I think it is very dependent on the age of the athletes. I think for younger athletes who are still learning, the more important goal should be for personal achievement in development, success, performance, and behavior. The team goals should be acknowledged, but the goals should be within the abilities of the athletes. For older athletes in a more professional setting, I think the overall goal for the team should be the main focus. Again, with personal goals not falling to the side, but with a main focus on team goals. If I had to give up one to achieve the other, I think letting go of the team goals for athletes personal success is more important. Again, this has to do with the team goal ... In reality, ruin porn is a recent movement in photography that takes the decline of the built environment (cities, buildings, infrastructure) as its subject to make it into this aesthetic photo to be publicized. However, the authors manage to speak the truth that although such shocking photographs only serve to obscure the humanity and the complexity behind the city s long struggle . Irony In The Interlopers By Saki The Interlopers is a short story written by Saki which details a feud between two men, Ulrich von Gradwitz and Georg Znaeym over a strip of land in a forest on the Carpathians. They plan to fight to the death when they come across each other in the woods, but end up being pinned down by a large tree. Eventually, they resolve their feud while they re stuck under the tree and become hopeful as they hear a noise, assuming it s their fellow hunters coming to save them. It turns out to be a pack of wolves, which allows the reader to assume the pair get killed in the end. Saki uses irony in this short story to show that one should let their past be the past and not let it interfere with the present and future. Weygers first got the idea for his flying machine in 1927 when he was working as a nautical engineer. The concept was inspired not by a bird, but a dolphin. Most adults have adopted poor running form over years of drawing upon techniques that they ve heard somewhere, not knowing the validity of the information they are trusting. There is a tendency to overthink how to run which leads to implementation of poor mechanics and form. In comparison, watching a young child run will typically demonstrate the unaltered natural running form that the body was designed for. Prediction: The color of hair will have different effects on static electricity, one color of hair will produce the highest amount of static electricity. 4. Hypothesis: If you have black hair then there will be a higher effect on static electricity then there would be on blonde, red, or brown hair. 5. Write up your experiment: Materials: 4 latex balloons, 1 permanent marker, 1 clear wall space, 1 notebook, 1 black haired volunteer, 1 red haired ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fill up a total of 4 latex balloons with air by using your breath. b. Once you have filled up each balloon make sure to tie each one with a secure knot at the end. c. Now take a permanent marker and carefully take 1 of the 4 balloons and write black on it, take a second balloon and write blonde, then a third and write red on it and on the last balloon write brown. (You will only be doing 1 trail for each color of hair). d. In your notebook, create a table with 2 columns and 5 rows the left column will be used for the 4 different colors of hair (Black, blonde, red, brown) and the second column will be labeled as time. This will be where you will write how long each balloon stuck to wall for each hair color. e. Take one of the balloons marked black and on your black haired volunteer rub the balloon on his/her head 30 seconds (make sure to use a timer). f. Once you have finished rubbing the balloon for the designated time on your volunteer s head the hair will be standing up. You will then take the balloon and stick it to a clear wall space. Now take your timer and time how long the balloon stays on the wall, once the balloon begins to fall off the wall stop your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Lenin s Legacy Of The Soviet Revolution Lenin s Legacy History will not forgive Revolutionaries for procrastinating when they could be victorious today, while they risk losing much tomorrow, in fact, they risk losing everything (Vladimir Lenin. Call to Power). Lenin was a persistent Russian ruler who wished to instill his communist views in Russian society at all costs. He was influential in motivating his followers to rise up and overthrow Russia s weak government which lead to the reformation of Russia s weak economy. Although Lenin faced opposing forces from the West, he was able to institute a number of reforms which boosted Russia s broken economy and led to the transformation of Russia from a war struck country into an economically stable power, prior to his death. Prior to Lenin coming into power, Russia s corrupt government was stuck in a state of war with Germany along with other Western European powers which ultimately led to the revolts of angry Russians due to famine and political issues. The Russo Japanese war began the first Russian revolution in 1905 when Russia suffered a tragic loss on the battlefield (Vladimir Lenin. World History). The Russian loss to Japan forced the government to give up on its expansionist policy resulting in the government losing its followers. This was the most devastating defeat Russia has ever faced to a non European force and proved Czar Nicholas unfit to rule the nation. To restore order within the society, Czar Nicholas instituted the October Manifesto, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Food Safety Inspection Service Ethics Traditional homestyle foods have completely changed. From growing our own crops and taking the time to properly cook our own food, to buying processed foods at shopping markets or simply going out to eat at fast food drive thru s. It is safe to say that us humans used to eat healthy, but as time has passed we have let food industries manipulate and complicate our minds with marketing and food labels. Especially when regarding meat. We still seem to be mostly concerned about the intake of meat consumption while not even hesitating to question where exactly it came from or if it is even safe enough for us to consume. Food recalls and food inspections are great steps to ensuring one s better health, but regulations should really be of our concern. It should be aware that the USDA s Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) has regulated meat and poultry processing for over a century now. The reason for doing so is to prevent chemicals, harmful substances, and pathogens from entering our daily food products. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Levy, M.D., who has studied the subject for years, estimates that there are 15 17 million pounds of antibiotics used sub therapeutically in the United States each year. Apparently, antibiotics are given to animals for therapeutic reasons, but that use isn t as controversial because few argue that sick animals should not be treated. The biggest controversy however, is the fact that antibiotics are used to treat human illnesses, but they are administering them to food animals. The subtherapeutic use of antibiotics in food animals can pose a health risk to humans. For example, If a group of animals is treated with a certain antibiotic over time, the bacteria living in those animals will become resistant to that drug. Concern about the growing level of drug resistant bacteria has led to the banning of subtherapeutic use of antibiotics in meat animals in many countries in the European Union and Canada. In the United States, however, such use is still ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Outline very briefly the main factors that led to the bubble economy of the 1980s and its crash? The appreciation of the Yen following the Plaza Accords under US pressure and the policy responses.  Japanese industries lost international competitiveness and the economy slowed. The government loosened monetary policies to counteract this and stimulate the economy.  The supply of money expanded, this money was invested in domestic assets (real estate and stock market) whose prices went up; as their prices went up people invested more funds, prices went up even more, then people invested ... But in practice there has been strong home bias in investment, and many large pension funds etc have been managed by bureaucrats who have been very conservative. International conditions have been very volatile and Japanese yen has been seen as a safe haven currency because Japan as a country is not an indebted country, say like the US. So, the currency has tended to be quite strong, often appreciating; this reduced the attraction of investing abroad. 4. Why is the Japanese government in debt, but Japan is a net saver? Recall national income accounts. National savings are not the same as government savings. National savings = private sector (households + corporates) savings + government savings. Household and corporate savings have been, until very recently, consistently higher than government borrowings, though household savings have been coming down in line with demographic trends (aging population). Corporations (firms) have overall some have invested in foreign countries through FDI felt that investment options in Japan are poor, so they have been saving rather than investing. 5. Why have corporate savings increased in Japan, and what does it indicate about business expectations? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Theory And Major Components Of Gas Chromatography A gas chromatograph (GC) is an analytical instrument in which measures the content of a variety of constituents within a sample. The analysis in which a gas chromatograph is operated is called gas chromatography. Figure 1 below is a basic representation of the instrument and the following statement is a simple representation of the overall process of a GC: It is a technique in which a sample solution is injected into the instrument through a septum, where it introduced into a gas stream that transports the sample into a separation tube known as a column. The assorted components of the sample are separated within the column. After the separation has been completed within the column a detector will quantitatively measure each of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The selection of the gas is important, as each performs differently with the type of detector that is being operated. The three most commonly selected gases for an experiment involving a gas chromatograph are hydrogen, helium, and nitrogen. Diffusivity and viscosity are two characteristics that will influence the performance of these gases. The diffusion coefficient, also called diffusivity is a parameter that is indicative of the diffusion mobility that is, it presents a mechanism for measurement for the diffusion speed of a solute s vapor in a gas. The speed of chromatography is determined by the diffusion speed of the solute in the carrier gas. A molecule evaporating from the stationary phase and proceeding into the stream of gas should be capable of diffusing back into the stationary phase before having to undergo the partitioning process again. It is this diffusion of molecules that set apart the gases. In order to obtain a good separation, the most desired carrier gases are those that come in contact with the column a significant number of times. There is a limit to this however, the more time that the gas is given for radial diffusion (diffusion in the direction of the stationary phase), the more time there is for band broadening (longitudinal diffusion). For this reason there is an optimal gas velocity, where it supplies maximum contact with the stationary phase and minimum band broadening in the gas phase. The Battle of Calabria, (known to the Italian Navy as the Battle of Punta Stilo) was a naval battle during the Battle of the Mediterranean in World War II. It was fought between the Italian Royal Navy (Regia Marina) and the British Royal Navy and the Royal Australian Navy. The battle occurred 30 miles to the east of Punta Stilo, the toe of Italy (Calabria), on 9 July 1940. 11 When World War II opened, it was much to the surprise of the Italian forces who, like many in Europe, did not expect conflict until 1941 at the earliest. At the time their forces in Libya were ill equipped for war, and the Italian fleet was forced to start large supply operations in order to bring them up to fighting condition. ...
