The Grand Story Of The Bible
The Bible is composed of many different stories and narratives. Each one of these individual
stories contributes to the greater story of the Bible; sometimes called the Grand Story of Scripture.
Within each Story, they have elements that define the setting, characters, climax, and themes. The
overall Grand Story of Scripture contains these elements in each of the five divisions: prologue,
epilogue, and three acts in between. The first division of the Grand Story of Scripture is the
prologue. In the prologue, readers are introduced to the setting and main character of the book, as
well as secondary characters. The setting is the Garden of Eden, where creation has just taken
place. The main character is God, the protagonist. Readers are introduced to God at the very
beginning of Genesis, when it states, In the beginning, God... Typically, readers are given a
glimpse of what the main character is like. As the Grand Story of Scripture progresses, readers are
introduced to new concepts and characteristics about God. Each of the stories within the Grand
Story have their own main characters, yet the focus is on how God is restoring back to original
goodness the mess creation got itself into. Within the prologue is the Creation story. In Genesis,
there are two different creation stories. From these accounts, readers are informed that God created
everything known and unknown, seen and unseen. In addition, each of the accounts reveals a
theological truth about God. The first

Customer Loyalty And Preventing Attrition
Enabling Customer Loyalty and Preventing Attrition
Time Frame: Over 2 weeks
Method of Contact:
3 store visits / 2 locations
7 online attempts
3 separate telephone calls Associate actions:
Disinterested
Brushed off repeated requests
Failed promises
Outcome: Damaged Customer Loyalty = No Purchase
Last fall, like many customers, we began searching for a custom kitchen countertop. We began
online with a brand we were loyal to. The online search yielded little detail, so we focused efforts
on shopping at a store.
Taking It Personal
As we approached 3 store associates gathered around a computer monitor, we are quickly
informed none of them could help and no one would be available for the next couple of hours. One
associate adds to the brush off with Oh, and by the way another customer said they would be back
at that time.
Believing this to be an isolated incident, we decided to try a different store. During this visit, we
were hopeful as we approached another associate located in the custom department. This hope was
quickly diminished as the associate appears bothered by our request for assistance. And in fact,
instead of helping us, the associate writes down our contact information and offers to email us the
estimate.
To no surprise, we received no email. As valued customers, who hold their credit card, it appeared
as if we were having to beg (repeatedly) to spend several thousand dollars. At this point it had
become a quest to answer how much does

The Importance Of Action In Advocacy
Action in Advocacy
To advocate for the standardization of educational requirements a tactical advocacy framework
utilizing Group Formulation is necessary to develop groups with the same goal (Stachowiak,
2013). Choosing group formulation as an advocacy strategy aligns with my leadership philosophy
of servant leadership and ACA value of practicing in an ethical manner. I feel a need to fill a
leadership gap and find a way to assist the organization with being an agent of change, even if this
means running for an elected office in an association.
If I were elected the President of AASCB, I will have to maintain an ethical balance between the
rights of the state, protecting the community, and advancing the protection. Beginning this project

The process will take some time, as I will need to attend licensure board meetings to understand the
culture of the boards. Understanding the culture of the board will guide me towards the best
approach to recommend changes in current regulations. Utilizing the servant leadership approach, I
will invite other AASCB members with interest in standardizing the educational standards to attend
licensure board meetings and meetings. Incorporating other members of the group will empower
them to serve as leaders in their mesosystem, and creating a larger group of interested parties.
Funding
Advocacy is often seen as people speaking out for a compelling cause and the funding is often
overlooked. Oklahoma like other states is in a budget crisis and changing standards will have
ripple effects down to the microlevel, requiring schools in the state to obtain accreditation. The
acceptance of CACREP accredited education as the standard will make the credit requirements
obsolete and require programs to seek accreditation. This program impacts every level of
professional counseling, it is necessary to identify an appropriate funding source to promote and
implement the changes to standards at the state board level. Prior to presenting the issue to the
leader of the licensure board, I will ensure I outline sources of funding for this initiative.
The U.S. Department of Education is a useful source for funding of higher education

The Between The Federal Government And The United States
The relationship between the federal government and the states has continually changed over the
years. Each one has their set of duties and powers, and both are ruled by the U.S. Constitution. The
states rights are more than well protected in the current constitution and the political practice. The
Bill of Rights lays out what our rights are, along with fourteenth, fifteenth, nineteenth, and twenty
six amendments. The amendments and constitution continue to protect our rights as Americans
even hundreds of years after being established. States have the ability to make restrictions The

The farmers had the hardest time with the money shortage because they could not earn enough to
pay their taxes and debts. Shay led his followers to close down courthouses so that judges could
not take away their farms. The group went with weapons and because the Continental Army was
disbanded Congress could not stop them. Massachusetts eventually ended Shay s Rebellion,
sending militia troops to halt the protesting. Madison wrote to a friend. It is not possible that a
government can last long under these circumstances (Frey, 2004: 105). Congress, after dealing
with Shay s Rebellion called for a convention to come up with a solution to fix all the problems that
the Articles of Confederation was creating. When the Constitutional Convention began, the
delegates believed that the task at hand was to revise the Articles of Confederation. All the
delegates agreed to throw out the Articles of Confederation and write a new constitution. As the
delegates began to make a new framework a disagreement came up, where should the government
s power to rule come from? Some believed that the states should, others thought the people should
have the authority. The Articles of Confederation s answer was that states should have the powers
while Madison believed the power should rest with the people. This is how the Virginia and New

Critical Analysis on a Tina Modotti Photograph Essay example
Critical Analysis on a Tina Modotti Photograph Tina Modotti was from a very poor working
class society. She was brought up in the northeast part of Italy, in Udine, Friuli. She was born at
the tail end of the industrial revolution, in 1896. However, you could say, by all means, that her
village hadn t changed the slightest since the seventh century. She lived vigorously throughout her
childhood, working endless hours in a silk textile factory to earn a cash flow and to support the
family through starvation. After their father had abandoned them when Tina was twelve and fled
to America, the land of dreams, to repeat, Tina was the family s sole breadwinner, and played an
essential role in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, the texture and even the tone had a great deal of contrast in the photograph. Again, there
is evidence of a extremely rough background and very rugged working class hands. The rough
puppeteer hands represent the government, you could say she uses the rough hands to symbolise
masculinity, power and even toughness. Moreover, the other hand is similar, however, there are
differences. It represents the citizens; it is feeble, strangled in wire and being controlled by the
other hand, the government . To conclude, the textures play a key role in the development of the
idea of power, as well as the contrast in lighting. Tina Modotti grew up in an extremely
marginalised and poor environment. The way the government didn t help her family during their
rough periods and suffocating them in to labour would have been one of the several reasons that
influenced her. Equally important, her personal experiences of constant labour and hunger would
have made her come to the conclusion of disliking the government. In my opinion, the way the
government had no control over her dropping out of school and letting her go into child labour
would have influenced her to produce works that comments on marginalisation in society, the
depression and the repression of working class

Leon Czolgosz Assassination
I think I know
I know that President McKinley was the 25th president of the United States and was only the 3rd
president to be assassinated up until this time. This was never a widely coved topic in any of my
previous history classes so I m coming into this project with virtually no former knowledge.
I Know
On September 6, 1901 at 2:30, president McKinley was shot and wounded. According to the
Coconino Sun Newspaper, released only one day after the attack, the President had attended a
reception that was being held in the Music Hall of the Pan American Exposition. The Pan
Americans Exposition, also known as the World Fair, was held in Buffalo New York from May 1
to November 2, 1901.

Not only was the president of the United Stated shot in killed, but the man who did it was a known
anarchist. There was already a great fear of this group in American, so, this event just reiterated that
fear. Other anarchist were arrested with the belief that they had ties to this crime. Although we now
believe that Czolgosz was acting alone, it was the fear of anarchy that lead police into arresting
innocent people. This act of terrorism compares with what the United States is facing. Although this
event occurred over one hundred years ago, things like terrorism connects this event to today. The
death of McKinley lead to some changes in policies and procedures. Many Americans believed that
the president was not being protected well enough. Even though the government wouldn t confess
to not protecting their president, there was still a change. When William McKinleys vice president,
Theodore Roosevelt, took office after McKinley s death, the Secret Service was in full time

International Student And High Tuition Essay
Studying with those from another background other than our own provides opportunities for
greater discovery, understanding, and cooperation. International students bring a variety of ideas
and new perspectives to the classroom, aiding in the educational process for all and are an
important component to many universities campus climate. Beyond the important cultural
components they bring to campus, International students are also a source of high tuition revenue
for universities. Students are often charged multiple times the rate of tuition that in state domestic
students pay, such as the Universityof Washington, where international students pay almost three
times as much per year (Lewin, 2012). The retention and graduation rates of all students are
important to universities; however, research on international studentpersistence has largely been
missing in the literature (Andrade 2009; Andrade and Evans 2009). Interestingly enough, the
Institute of International Education (IIE) and other government agencies do not report data on
international studentpersistence rates (Evans et al, 2009). The majority of universities report their
student graduation and retention rates on their websites, with many universities including their
percentages by ethnic groups; however, very few universities identify the specific rates for the
international student population. According to the IIE, the international student population in the
United States comprises only about 3.5% of the total

Indescribable Literary Analysis
Perhaps the most strikingly recognizable Absurd characteristic the audience encounters is Beckett s
distinctively ambiguous setting. The stage, divided into two halves by a tree, changes little from
Act I to Act II; there is little difference in the barren setting, other than a few leaves sprouting from
the lonely tree. The passage of time is also indeterminate, so instead of a progression of events
within an identifiable setting, the entire action takes place during an unspecified time on a desolate
country road, reminiscent of a hellish Dantesque landscape. Lois Cuddy contends, The tree, leafless
and otherwise, is only placed in this setting as one of the illusions intended to keep the characters

Businesses are formed to make money. In the pursuit of making money, businesses deal with

Discussion will only be focused around purchasing agents and insurance claim agents. Purchasing
agents access their disputes in three ways. Customer satisfaction, business relationships and
longevity of said relationships. All businesses want to produce a product that fits the needs of the
consumer, which enables the company to make money. If the purchasing agent is not happy with
the product then more likely the case the purchasing agent will find another supplier. Stewart
Macaulay states, Both business units involved in the exchange desire to continue successfully in
business and will avoid conduct which might interfere with attaining this goal. He goes on to
say, People in a sales department oppose contract. Contractual negotiations are just one more
hurdle in the way of a sale. Holding customers to the letter of a contact is bad for customer
relations . Suing a customer who is not bankrupt and might order again is poor strategy. It all
boils down to this, if the customer is happy with his purchase then that customer will use that
company again which means that the business will make money. The only time a purchase agent
will file a legal complaint is if the customer is going out of business or is going bankrupt. The
insurance claim agent access disputes in a different manner. To the insurance claim agent it
depends on the size of the claim and the individual. Lawrence H. Ross explains, In small claims, a

Essay about Globalization and SC Johnson
Globalization is the shift toward a more integrated and interdependent world economy (Hill,
2005). Globalization has several different areas including the globalization of markets and of
production. The Globalization of markets is the blending of different markets from different
nations into one large global marketplace. Cross border trading has made it easier to sell
internationally. Companies can sell standardized products efficiently and effectively all over the
world thus helping to build a global marketplace. The globalization of production refers to the
sourcing of goods and services from locations around the globe to take advantage of national
differences in the cost and quality of factors of production (such as labor, energy,... Show more

There are many major drivers for globalization. There are two factors that seem to drive the trend
toward greater globalization. The first factor is the decline in international trade barriers that has
occurred since the end of World War II. Once the barriers were removed then international trade
had a chance to grow and change the economy to a more global one. Tariffs were fees charged on
top off the cost of imported goods. The hope was to deter people from choosing the imports,
instead choosing the domestic goods. Once the tariffs were stopped, many more people were able
to buy and sell imported goods.
The second factor is the numerous technological advancements in recent years pertaining to
communication, information processing, and transportation technologies.
The development of the microprocessor was a huge step forward in computing technology. The
microprocessor allowed growth of high powered, low cost computers that could handle much more
information than ever before. This enabled countries to grow their education and manufacturing
capabilities greatly in order to compete in a global market place.
Lastly, containerization has forever changed the transportation business by lowering the costs of
shipping goods over long distances. Before containerization, it cost time, money, and labor when
shipping items over many miles. In the 1970s and 1980s, once containerization took charge, then

and emphasize how intelligence is necessary to be a world class power through a matter of fact

comparing and contrasting the humor of the definition of geek, to intellectual ability. His allusion
of Webster s New World Dictionary states the term geek as, ...biting off heads of live chickens.
This exaggeration becomes less extreme while being compared to those with more intellectual

Obstructive sleep apnea in school aged children presented with nocturnal enuresis
INTRODUCTION Obstructive sleep disordered breathing (SDB) is an abnormal breathing pattern
during sleep characterized by snoring and increased respiratory effort and with variable severity
where obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) constitutes the most severe form of it. Childhood OSA has
been accepted recently to be associated with numerous adverse health outcomes, including both
cognitive and behavioural deficits. (1) In a small study, childhood OSA was also related to potential
neuronal injury in the hippocampus and frontal cortex. (2) Multiple risk factors have been
identified as a risk factor but still the most widely accepted risk factor is adenotonsillar hypertrophy.
Childhood OSA has different clinical manifestations as snoring, witnessed apnoeas, labored
breathing, restless sleep and others. (3) Nocturnal enuresis (NE) i.e. intermittent nocturnal

Murder Is A Homicide Crime
Murder Charges
Murder is a homicide crime where there is an intentional killing of a human being by another
human being with malice aforethought. Malice aforethought is what separates murder from other
crimes such as voluntary or involuntary manslaughter ( Free Advice: Law, 2015). Murder can be
classified into different degrees or types, but not all states break them up, but instead name the top
type as capital murder.
First Degree Murder
In most states, first degree murder is defined as the unlawful killing on an individual after
planning or lying in wait for the victim ( Find Law, 2015). The act must be performed out of
willfulness, deliberation, and premeditation to be considered first degree murder in most states.
Other acts of violent felonies such as arson, burglary, kidnapping, robbery, and rape that results in
a death can also be charged as first degree murder ( Diffen, 2014).
Willfulness is the intent to end human life, the life does not have to be a predetermined person
so much as it has to be the thought of carrying out the act on another human being. If a person
sets out to kill a human and unintentionally kills a different person the killer can still be charged
with first degree murder ( Diffen, 2014, para. 2). Deliberation and premedication is determined
individually on a case by case basis and it does not mean killer must think at any length of time or
plan ahead for the murder to be considered premeditated ( Find Law, 2015).

Chinese Immigrants In Australia In The 19th Century
Making a Nation
In the 19th Century, there was a significant increase of Chinese immigrants in Australia. By 1861,
the Chinese community was already thriving, making up nearly 7% of the Victorian population.
During this period, the Chinese came to Australia in search of Gold. The early settlers didn t accept
the Chinese because they were different in appearance and cultural practices, so they were forced
into different camps.
In 1788, the Europeans were the first white people to set foot on Australian soil. They came to

different to the Chinese in many ways. Their history and cultural religion were very different to the
Chinese. The reasons for coming to Australia were different, the Chinese came to find a better life,
whereas the Europeans came to colonise the land.
Regarding the cost of licences, the Chinese and the Europeans experienced similar hardships. Both
the New South Wales and Victorian governments charged the Chinese and the Europeans thirty
shillings for a miner s licence. They were also required to pay tax to work on the Goldfields.
Correspondingly, most of the easy alluvial Gold had started to run out and big companies were
moving in establishing deep hard rock mines that put the small alluvial miners out of business.
Both the Chinese and the Europeans experienced the same condition as the police hunted down
miners without a licence and were often brutal, corrupt,

african american religious music Essay
African American religious music is the foundation of all contemporary forms of so called black
music. African American religious music has been a fundamental part of the black experience in
this country. This common staple of the African American experience can be traced back to the
cruel system of slavery. It then evolved into what we refer to today as gospel music. The goal of
this paper is to answer three main questions. What are the origins of AfricanAmerican religious
music? How did this musical expression develop into a secular form of music? What is the future of
African American religious music? These questions will be answered through factual research of
African American traditions, artists, and various other sources.... Show more content on

A spiritual journey dominates these songs, but the concern for physical freedom is there as well.
The most pervasive image in the spirituals is that of the chosen people for the slaves believed that
they had been chosen by God just as the Israelites had. They also believed that they understood
better than anyone what freedom truly meant in both a spiritual and physical sense. The Old
Testament characters that the slaves referred to in their songs experienced deliverance by God.
The slaves believed that the same God that had granted them spiritual freedom would someday
loose the chains of slavery. The wonderful flexibility of the spirituals allowed for that double
meaning of freedom. For example, Frederick Douglass claimed that the line I am bound for
Canaan in one of the songs he frequently sang meant that he was going North, not just that he
would experience the freedom of the promised land in a spiritual sense. The flexibility and
multiplicity of meanings also allowed for slaves to use these sacred songs as secret
communication. Some songs, such as Steal Away to Jesus, were used to call a secret meeting
where the people could worship without the supervision of the whites. Other songs, such as Wade
in the Water served as coded directions for runaway slaves. With the eventual emancipation of the
slaves, religious music of African Americans became prominently

Of all literature works read thus far, the Odyssey full fills the hero s journey in all aspects of the
story. Throughout this story there are vivid examples of how the hero s journey is outlined. From
the beginning of the hero s journey , which is the call to adventure Odysseus will begin his journey
when he makes the choice of going into battle in the Trojan War. There will also be specific
events in this epic story to display the hero s journey even further. Eventually the end of the

Taking Circe advice Odysseus was able to get pass Scylla and Charybdis, but the fatality was that
he lost six of his men because Scylla ate them alive. The revelation or the abyss of the hero s
journey can be described in the Odyssey as Odysseus going to the underworld known as Hades.
Odysseus went there because Circe instructed him to do so. It was there Tiresias, which is a
blind prophet tells Odysseus that he will return home. He also tells him he will reunite with his
wife and take command of his kingdom from suitors. He then instructs Odysseus that he need to
take a trip to a faraway land to appease the god Poseidon. After revealing this prophecy he warns
Odysseus not to touch the flocks of the sun when he arrives in Thrinacia. If he does he will
encounter much more hardship and suffering and he will also lose more members of his crew
Atonement which is a major part of the hero s journey can best be described when Odysseus
kills the suitors and the unfaithful servants. He then takes back control of his palace. Atonement
can also be viewed as Odysseus acknowledging those who have been his faithful friends
throughout his absence. This can be seen as him becoming master of both worlds. The last part of
the hero s journey is the return. In the Odyssey the return is when Odysseus gets to reveal who he
really is to his wife and father. Penelope did not want to believe the man before her was really

Hillary Clinton Rolemodels
While the sun sets and darkness creeps in, kids huddle around to watch the TV. However, instead
of watching a late night horror movie, they begin to watch a Trump rally. Children are always
known to follow what they see either on television or in their own homes. In Hillary Clinton s
recent campaign advertisement entitled Rolemodels, Clinton attempts to appeal to viewers
emotions by using various designs to demonstrate how a Trump presidency would damage our
children. Hillary Clinton takes on the concept of Children learning how to act by what they watch
on the television, mainly targeting Donald Trumps heinous public behavior and speeches.
The video begins with the sun setting in the back of different houses, later on the image shifts to
children watching television. While images of the kids watching television play, different
statements from Donald Trump s interviews and rallies are heard in the background accompanied
by very slow rhythm piano music. Throughout most of the video a dark scheme of colors

The New Command That Christ Gave The 11 Remaining...
This morning, we considered the new command that Christ gave the 11 remaining disciples.
But they can t focus on that.
They are bewildered because Christ is going away.
They are confused and Peter speaks up perhaps for the whole group...
And this is where we come to our text this evening:
John 13:36 38
36 Simon Peter said to Him, Lord, where are You going?
Jesus answered him, Where I am going you cannot follow Me now, but you shall follow Me
afterward.
37 Peter said to Him, Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.
38 Jesus answered him, Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the
rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times.
It s almost as if Peter didn t hear the NEW command.
But can we blame him?
His Beloved Master has just said, I am going away and you can t come.
I m going and you re staying.
Peter s mind is occupied; and He missed the command to love one another.
Peter, probably similar to the Jews in chapter 7 and 8 who said where is He going that we can t find
Him? Will He go among the dispersion?
Peter was probably thinking geographically Why can t I follow you?
The other disciples seem to have missed it too they are just slower to respond.
Thomas in ch. 14 will say, Lord, where are you going and how can we know the way?
Jesus takes up the distraction and speaks with His little children tenderly.
But He will come back to the vital command to love a few chapters later in

Hunger Of Memory Analysis
In The Class the character Wei is portrayed as an immigrant who rarely participates or gets
involved with his classmates due to the language barrier. In the autobiography Hunger of Memory
by Richard Rodriguez, Rodriguez himself had difficulties participating in class, and interacting
with his fellow classmates due to the language barrier. In both The Class and Hunger of Memory
Wei and Rodriguez share the common bond of feelinglike an alien in the classroom due to knowing
more of their private language that they speak regularly speak at home to speaking a language
foreign to them, that they have to practice everyday on their own to get familiar with the language
and perfect their pronunciations.
I want people to discuss how being a child of an immigrant you have higher expectations to
achieve, such as having a good education, go to college, get good grades, and be expected to
learn a new language. I want the question to reflect back on the terms private language and
public language from Hunger of Memory and how those terms contribute to Wei s character in
the film The Class. I want people to go deeper and discuss the emotions and process both Wei and
Richard Rodriguez go through. How in the beginning both wouldn t interact in the class due to
only knowing one language properly. How they both went from shy to being a participant in class.
Both Wei and Rodriguez have respect towards their parents and do what their parents ask them too,

Nuclear Safety Regulations And Measures
On March 11, 2011, an earthquake large enough to cause the earth axis to shift by several inches
(p. 3) sent a massive tsunami rushing towards a forested stretch of the Japanese coast south of
Sendai where the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power reactors stood vulnerable (p. 4). Over the
ensuing weeks, the world watched in horror as a natural disaster transformed into a man made
catastrophe: fail safes failed, cooling systems shut down, nuclear rods melted, communications
broke down, hazardous radioactive exposures and contamination occurred, and masses of people
were displaced. Safety of nuclear powerplants is a very important topic that has significant local and
global implication for environmental health. This book was chosen to help... Show more content on

To summarize, after the earthquake, the initial shutdown of Fukushima s reactors went
according to plan; the real problem was when the second wave of the tsunami struck. A fifty feet
high wave easily surged over the seawall, destroying seawater pumps and drowning the plant s
electrical system and power panels. This rendered the emergency backup generators unusable and
lead to a station blackout. Without any power to run the pumps and valves needed to provide a
steady flow of cooling water, the radioactive fuel would overheat, the remaining water would boil
away, and the core would proceed inexorably toward a meltdown. (p. 12) Serious communication
problems between TEPCO [Tokyo Electric Power Company, operator of the plant] and the
multilayered Japanese government and its huge nuclear bureaucracy hampered recovery efforts in
the hours that followed the nuclear crisis. On paper, all these duties and responsibilities may have
seemed clear. In practice, however, the system proved unworkable. (p. 16) Fukushima nuclear
disaster sparked the debate about the safety of nuclear power in general and the nuclear plant
designs in particular such as how to improve on the current plants safety designs to prevent another
Fukushima like scenario from ever happening. The

The Rock Opera Jesus Christ Star
The rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar was written by Tim Rice, then 25 year old lyricist and
Andrew Lloyd Webber, then 21 year old composer. The rock opera portrays the last seven days of
the life of Jesus as it was seen through the Judas eyes. This piece of art is considered as a fairly
radical rock hybrid concerning the final days of the life of Jesus. This was the third musical that
had been written by Webber and Rice. His long fascination with Judas Iscariot made him perceive
Judas as a dear friend of Jesus who was struggling with the consequences of the growing celebrity
of Jesus rather than a craven betrayer of Christ (Evita Music, pg. 16).
Despite this musical finding broad support among the vast liberal Christian churches, the piece was
nonetheless too controversial as to get financial backing that was essential for its stage production.
The lyrics of this musical were particularly clunky and its score normally overwrought. Despite this,
this musical was the turning point of popular cultural representation of Jesus as it consequently
made a powerful statement concerning the celebrity figure in the process.
Thesis statement: The musical, Jesus Christ Superstar is about the suffering as well as the pain that
was caused to an individual by the dehumanizing effect of fame.
Jesus representation in Jesus Christ Superstar was particularly influenced by the Jesus Movement
as well as the hippie culture that emerged in California in the late 60s. This prompted several

environment worldwide (IEA, 2010). These problems are highly integrated with each other and
mitigating the global climate change without affecting the energy security is becoming a

The growing demand for energy and the increased use of fossil fuels to meet energy services is
increasing the world s atmospheric greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions primarily carbon dioxide
(CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O) (EPA, 2011). It is acknowledged that the energy
sector is a significant contributor to the world s GHG emissions and one of the principal drivers of
global climate change (World Energy Council, 2007).
1.1Canada s Primary Energy Demand
From 1990 to 2009, the primary energy consumption in the Canada has increased by one third
(StatsCan, 2011). In 2009, Canada produced 15,326 petajoules (PJ) of primary energy (i.e. energy
before any conversion or transformation process) to meet the country s total energy demand
(StatsCan, 2009). Figure 2: Canada s Primary Energy Production 2009 (StatsCan, 2009)
From Figure 2, it is observed that fossil fuels sources accounted for the greatest share of the
Canada s primary energy production notably crude oil, natural gas and coal representing roughly
about 85 % of the total primary energy production. In Canada, hydro is the important source of
primary electricity production, and with nuclear it accounted for approximately 10.9 percent of the
total primary energy production (StatsCan, 2009). Natural gas is the dominant source of primary
energy production, representing 41 percent, and coal is the least one, representing about 9 percent
of Canada s total primary

has become easier and easier yet more difficult at the same time for example we no longer have

also do not have the luxury of doctors coming to our houses in the middle of the night whenever

As early as 1516, Syria has been known to be ruled under Ottoman Turks Empire for well over
several centuries. In 1916 Arabs and British military collaborated together and rebelled against
Turkish rules. This allowed independence over the Turks for Arab countries and ending 400 years
of supreme political power of the Ottoman Empire. After many years of restructuring Syria
economics, social, and political fields, they combined the Ottoman, French, and Islamic laws up
until the 1980 s. The criminal, civil, and commercial codes were mostly based on the French way
of practicing laws. In 1949, they had certain provisions that they had to follow due to religious

Persuasive Essay On Becoming A Knight
A knight is a man who served his sovereign or lord as a mounted soldier in armor. They were well
trained fighters, knights were military retainers, often of humble means, but defined by their
military vocation and their ability rather than any lineages ( Richard). They surfaced in the Middle
Ages because it was a time when Lords needed protections along with their territories. To become a
knightwas not easy there were many steps towards fulfilling knighthood. Not only did it take years
of training to become a knight, but it also took bravery, courtesy, and honor known as chivalry and
courtly love. A man without those qualities did not have what it takes to play this role. Knights of
the Middle Ageswere first and premier warriors who fought from horseback, wore body covering
armor, and used weapons such as swords and daggers to fight and protect in battle. There were
five steps to knighthood, becoming a knight took years of training, during which a young man
learned how to fight, ride, and behave in proper, knightley manner (Corrick 29). The first step to
becoming a knight was having the right connections because it was very expensive to buy all the
equipment necessary in protecting himself on the battlefield. That being said a knight usually
came from a noble or wealthy family. The upbringing is the second step, if a boy came from the
right family and had the ambition to be a knight by the age of seven he would have to learn all
basic manners and what the role of a

Blood Vessels Lab Report
Introduction
The main types of blood vessels in the systemic system are arteries, arterioles, capillaries, veins
and venules. In this experiment, the main blood vessels that were explored in depth were the
arteries and the veins. An artery is a muscular or elastic tube that carries oxygenated blood from the
heart to the tissues of the body. The only exception to this is the pulmonary, which carries oxygen
to the lungs for oxygenation and removal of excess carbon dioxide. A vein is a type of blood vessel
that transports oxygen depleted blood to the right atrium of the heart. In a blood vessel, the
diameter is extremely important. It can affect the movement of blood flow. The diameter is one of
the three sources of resistance, and it is intertwined ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The clay may not have flattened enough when used as a seal in part two. The straw may not
have been exactly half way up the cup, and the water my not have been exactly three quarters
full. Also, the depth of the straw may not have been exactly the same over the entire lab.
Moreover, the seal may have been pressed too hard onto the straw, which could have made for
more pressure that was not intended. In the experiment, when there was an inner clay plug in
the straw, air built up inside. Arteries observe a considerable amount of more blood pressure
compared to veins. If plaque were to build up inside an artery, the higher blood pressure it
experiences would force it to pop. This lab illustrates this concept in numerous ways. First, the
inner clay plug in the straw forces the air to build up inside. The clay acts as an obstruction that
forces the plaque(air) from exiting the straw. When there is an obstruction, more pressure (in
this case blowing effort) is required to blow the air through the straw. In a blood vessel, even
when plaque is building up, the pressure is kept constant and forces more plaque to stick. To
maintain a constant rate of bubbles, more pressure (blowing effort) had to be applied, even at
the cost of air building up inside the straw. In a blood vessel, to maintain a constant flow of
blood when there is an obstruction, more blood pressure is applied, even though plaque will
build up. As a side note, the marker on the cup was simply a marker, however, it was important
to keep the depth of the straw in the cup consistent so that the results could be as accurate as
possible. The plastic straw in the experiment represented the blood vessel that blood (in this case
air) had to flow through. The flattened clay seal represented the wall that is present in blood
vessel. The seal was supposed to rupture due to the fact that it was supposed to represent the thin
wall that is present in veins.

The use of phrase keywords also contributes to number of bookings like the phrase DC to France
Sale which have the highest conversion rate compare to others. Different with Google, Yahoo
has moderately earned more income from the words of city such as Florence, Paris and Rome.
This may be resulted from the difference search methods that Yahoo mainly focuses on web
contents keywords. Overture more likely to gain revenue in words that relate with cities in
eastern part of Europe like Athens, Tunis, Amman. Overture loses money on broad unspecific
words. Thus, Overture should focus on the exact keywords which have connection with flight
and travel to eastern part of Europe. MSN US and MSN Global costs mainly derived from
phrase keywords except Air France Brand keywords. For example, phrase keyword of travel to
France generates moderate number of 346 clicks, but none of the clicks succeed in sales
conversion. Another example is flights to Paris , other publishers succeed in booking of
positive net revenue with the keywords, while MSN US and MSN Global lose money. * Broad

publishers performance data, we concluded that Yahoo US, Overture Global, MSN US and MSN
Global are publishers that have strength in broad campaign keywords. Number of clicks for broad

While the victims were waiting for their death they didn t see what was happening ,but did hear

what they did. Soldiers part of the Wehrmacht, which was the was the German army, were in denial
that Germany wanted this to happen. They were told that Jews were the enemies of Germany. Few
tried to protested what was happening to their superior officers, but obviously nothing would stop
it. Citizens of these town were told the same thing that this was what needed to be done. Even with
all the propaganda, it wasn t enough because people couldn t tell themselves that this was right. The
people who strongly disagreed with the Einsatzgruppen didn t say anything because they could
easily become one more victim for them.(SS Einsatzgruppen)
These shootings also caused much stress on the soldiers of the Einsatzgruppen. Some soldiers
would have breakdowns and were unable to carry out their duties. Some soldiers would remember

Gender Disparities In Law Enforcement
Law enforcement agencies across the nation are facing challenging and complex issues that demand
tailored solutions. From immigration to technology to recruitment and retention, the challenges are
far reaching. To effectively communicate and connect with an audience, leaders must be able to
adapt to each generation, technology, and evolving statutes, which govern a democratic society.
Leaders must be able to communicate the message clearly to ensure that the receiver understands
the correct meaning and the intention of the message. Equally important, it is critical for leaders to
communicate well in order to motivate and inspire followers to accomplish greater achievements.
The culmination issues of immigration and crime, racial disparity, and advancing technology have
become the landscape for modern law enforcement. Twenty first century leaders must be prepared
to not only navigate the technological changes, but also effectively manage controversial issues,
such as immigration, racial disparities.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, it is one of the most challenging tasks in contemporary law enforcement. Many law
enforcement agencies face barriers that can only be overcome through innovative community
policing concepts; accordingly, nearly every law enforcement agencies across the country are on the
cutting edge of some sort of community policing program. The course work, Integrating LE and
Refugee communities was selected to illustrate the depth of community policing and the different
strategies used to address cultural differences, which can be applied in any community. Moreover,
as tension rises over racial disparities and anti police demonstrations becoming a regular occurrence,
law enforcement must engage the community in a manner that promulgates respect and

A Conspiracy in Politics
Politics is much more than agendas these days. It is a game involving intricate strategies and
manoeuvres to outsmart the others. Big games are played in today s political arena and these
big games are limited to the big player only. No matter how loyally or how long a person serves,
the game plan is limited only to the highest tier of the parties or maybe even less. The best and the
trickiest of games are played with a lot of confidentiality to ensure its success.
Politics, mind you, is not a child s play. Politicians are extremely smart people. By using the word
smart, I don t put them into the category of Einstiens or Newtons. What I am trying to convey is
that they are very observant and capable of noticing the smallest of opportunities. They plan with
vision and over time it pays off.
In the light of the present situation, I may sound a complete fool for what I have just said. Had
politicians been so smart and so thoughtful in their strategies then why can t the Indian National
Congress see the very evident inefficiency of Mr. Rahul Gandhi? He has become a subject of
numerous jokes on the social media and his incompetency has come to the fore over the years. It
is very clear that Rahul has failed miserably to connect to the people. On the other hand, there is
Modi, a magnetic personality with great oration skills. More importantly he has Gujarat to show for
his achievements. Is the Congress so naive to neglect it and go about doing nothing at all?
It must have

The Mormon Church
I was raised in what now would be called White privilege. The Edgemont area in Provo, Utah was an
extremely homogenous culture. My family, along with most of the other families in my
neighborhood were young, White, middle class, highly educated, conservative, heterosexual, and
Mormon with European ancestry. My father, along with most of the other fathers in the
neighborhood, was a professor at Brigham Young University. Our culture was based on the
teachings of the MormonChurch with a rich pioneer heritage which we celebrated every 24th of
July. As children, we would don pioneer garb, decorate wagons and bikes to look like covered
wagons or handcarts and march around the church building pretending to be pioneers. Not only
was this event fun, but we could feel the pioneer blood flowing through our veins. The pioneers
represented to us hard work, sacrifice, devotion, obedience, courage, fortitude and love of God.
The Mormon Church was organized in 1830, as a collectivist society where the good of the church
was more important than the individual. In those days, when the church gave a member an
assignment, including leaving the family to go on a mission, moving to a new location, or
allowing a husband to marry another wife, and performed these tasks no matter the personal
sacrifice required. The collectivist practice of the United Order was instituted in the late 1800 s in a
small town in Southern Utah called Orderville. My Great grandparents were part of this system

  • 2. The Grand Story Of The Bible The Bible is composed of many different stories and narratives. Each one of these individual stories contributes to the greater story of the Bible; sometimes called the Grand Story of Scripture. Within each Story, they have elements that define the setting, characters, climax, and themes. The overall Grand Story of Scripture contains these elements in each of the five divisions: prologue, epilogue, and three acts in between. The first division of the Grand Story of Scripture is the prologue. In the prologue, readers are introduced to the setting and main character of the book, as well as secondary characters. The setting is the Garden of Eden, where creation has just taken place. The main character is God, the protagonist. Readers are introduced to God at the very beginning of Genesis, when it states, In the beginning, God... Typically, readers are given a glimpse of what the main character is like. As the Grand Story of Scripture progresses, readers are introduced to new concepts and characteristics about God. Each of the stories within the Grand Story have their own main characters, yet the focus is on how God is restoring back to original goodness the mess creation got itself into. Within the prologue is the Creation story. In Genesis, there are two different creation stories. From these accounts, readers are informed that God created everything known and unknown, seen and unseen. In addition, each of the accounts reveals a theological truth about God. The first ... • 3. Customer Loyalty And Preventing Attrition Enabling Customer Loyalty and Preventing Attrition Time Frame: Over 2 weeks Method of Contact: 3 store visits / 2 locations 7 online attempts 3 separate telephone calls Associate actions: Disinterested Brushed off repeated requests Failed promises Outcome: Damaged Customer Loyalty = No Purchase Last fall, like many customers, we began searching for a custom kitchen countertop. We began online with a brand we were loyal to. The online search yielded little detail, so we focused efforts on shopping at a store. Taking It Personal As we approached 3 store associates gathered around a computer monitor, we are quickly informed none of them could help and no one would be available for the next couple of hours. One associate adds to the brush off with Oh, and by the way another customer said they would be back at that time. Believing this to be an isolated incident, we decided to try a different store. During this visit, we were hopeful as we approached another associate located in the custom department. She was brought up in the northeast part of Italy, in Udine, Friuli. She was born at the tail end of the industrial revolution, in 1896. However, you could say, by all means, that her village hadn t changed the slightest since the seventh century. She lived vigorously throughout her childhood, working endless hours in a silk textile factory to earn a cash flow and to support the family through starvation. Moreover, the other hand is similar, however, there are differences. It represents the citizens; it is feeble, strangled in wire and being controlled by the other hand, the government . To conclude, the textures play a key role in the development of the idea of power, as well as the contrast in lighting. Tina Modotti grew up in an extremely marginalised and poor environment. The way the government didn t help her family during their rough periods and suffocating them in to labour would have been one of the several reasons that influenced her. Equally important, her personal experiences of constant labour and hunger would have made her come to the conclusion of disliking the government. In my opinion, the way the government had no control over her dropping out of school and letting her go into child labour would have influenced her to produce works that comments on marginalisation in society, the depression and the repression of working class ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are many major drivers for globalization. There are two factors that seem to drive the trend toward greater globalization. The first factor is the decline in international trade barriers that has occurred since the end of World War II. Once the barriers were removed then international trade had a chance to grow and change the economy to a more global one. Tariffs were fees charged on top off the cost of imported goods. The hope was to deter people from choosing the imports, instead choosing the domestic goods. Once the tariffs were stopped, many more people were able to buy and sell imported goods. The second factor is the numerous technological advancements in recent years pertaining to communication, information processing, and transportation technologies. The development of the microprocessor was a huge step forward in computing technology. The microprocessor allowed growth of high powered, low cost computers that could handle much more information than ever before. This enabled countries to grow their education and manufacturing capabilities greatly in order to compete in a global market place. Lastly, containerization has forever changed the transportation business by lowering the costs of shipping goods over long distances. Before containerization, it cost time, money, and labor when shipping items over many miles. In the 1970s and 1980s, once containerization took charge, then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Malice aforethought is what separates murder from other crimes such as voluntary or involuntary manslaughter ( Free Advice: Law, 2015). Murder can be classified into different degrees or types, but not all states break them up, but instead name the top type as capital murder. First Degree Murder In most states, first degree murder is defined as the unlawful killing on an individual after planning or lying in wait for the victim ( Find Law, 2015). The act must be performed out of willfulness, deliberation, and premeditation to be considered first degree murder in most states. Other acts of violent felonies such as arson, burglary, kidnapping, robbery, and rape that results in a death can also be charged as first degree murder ( Diffen, 2014). Willfulness is the intent to end human life, the life does not have to be a predetermined person so much as it has to be the thought of carrying out the act on another human being. If a person sets out to kill a human and unintentionally kills a different person the killer can still be charged with first degree murder ( Diffen, 2014, para. 2). The Old Testament characters that the slaves referred to in their songs experienced deliverance by God. The slaves believed that the same God that had granted them spiritual freedom would someday loose the chains of slavery. The wonderful flexibility of the spirituals allowed for that double meaning of freedom. For example, Frederick Douglass claimed that the line I am bound for Canaan in one of the songs he frequently sang meant that he was going North, not just that he would experience the freedom of the promised land in a spiritual sense. However, instead of watching a late night horror movie, they begin to watch a Trump rally. Children are always known to follow what they see either on television or in their own homes. In Hillary Clinton s recent campaign advertisement entitled Rolemodels, Clinton attempts to appeal to viewers emotions by using various designs to demonstrate how a Trump presidency would damage our children. Hillary Clinton takes on the concept of Children learning how to act by what they watch on the television, mainly targeting Donald Trumps heinous public behavior and speeches. The video begins with the sun setting in the back of different houses, later on the image shifts to children watching television. While images of the kids watching television play, different statements from Donald Trump s interviews and rallies are heard in the background accompanied by very slow rhythm piano music. They are bewildered because Christ is going away. They are confused and Peter speaks up perhaps for the whole group... And this is where we come to our text this evening: John 13:36 38 36 Simon Peter said to Him, Lord, where are You going? Jesus answered him, Where I am going you cannot follow Me now, but you shall follow Me afterward. 37 Peter said to Him, Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake. 38 Jesus answered him, Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times. It s almost as if Peter didn t hear the NEW command. But can we blame him? His Beloved Master has just said, I am going away and you can t come. I m going and you re staying. Peter s mind is occupied; and He missed the command to love one another. Peter, probably similar to the Jews in chapter 7 and 8 who said where is He going that we can t find Him? Will He go among the dispersion? Peter was probably thinking geographically Why can t I follow you? The other disciples seem to have missed it too they are just slower to respond. Thomas in ch. 14 will say, Lord, where are you going and how can we know the way? Jesus takes up the distraction and speaks with His little children tenderly. In the autobiography Hunger of Memory by Richard Rodriguez, Rodriguez himself had difficulties participating in class, and interacting with his fellow classmates due to the language barrier. I want people to discuss how being a child of an immigrant you have higher expectations to achieve, such as having a good education, go to college, get good grades, and be expected to learn a new language. I want the question to reflect back on the terms private language and public language from Hunger of Memory and how those terms contribute to Wei s character in the film The Class. I want people to go deeper and discuss the emotions and process both Wei and Richard Rodriguez go through. Nuclear Safety Regulations And Measures On March 11, 2011, an earthquake large enough to cause the earth axis to shift by several inches (p. 3) sent a massive tsunami rushing towards a forested stretch of the Japanese coast south of Sendai where the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power reactors stood vulnerable (p. 4). Over the ensuing weeks, the world watched in horror as a natural disaster transformed into a man made catastrophe: fail safes failed, cooling systems shut down, nuclear rods melted, communications broke down, hazardous radioactive exposures and contamination occurred, and masses of people were displaced. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To summarize, after the earthquake, the initial shutdown of Fukushima s reactors went according to plan; the real problem was when the second wave of the tsunami struck. A fifty feet high wave easily surged over the seawall, destroying seawater pumps and drowning the plant s electrical system and power panels. This rendered the emergency backup generators unusable and lead to a station blackout. Without any power to run the pumps and valves needed to provide a steady flow of cooling water, the radioactive fuel would overheat, the remaining water would boil away, and the core would proceed inexorably toward a meltdown. (p. 12) Serious communication problems between TEPCO [Tokyo Electric Power Company, operator of the plant] and the multilayered Japanese government and its huge nuclear bureaucracy hampered recovery efforts in the hours that followed the nuclear crisis. On paper, all these duties and responsibilities may have seemed clear. In practice, however, the system proved unworkable. • 30. The Rock Opera Jesus Christ Star The rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar was written by Tim Rice, then 25 year old lyricist and Andrew Lloyd Webber, then 21 year old composer. The rock opera portrays the last seven days of the life of Jesus as it was seen through the Judas eyes. This piece of art is considered as a fairly radical rock hybrid concerning the final days of the life of Jesus. This was the third musical that had been written by Webber and Rice. His long fascination with Judas Iscariot made him perceive Judas as a dear friend of Jesus who was struggling with the consequences of the growing celebrity of Jesus rather than a craven betrayer of Christ (Evita Music, pg. 16). Despite this musical finding broad support among the vast liberal Christian churches, the piece was nonetheless too controversial as to get financial backing that was essential for its stage production. The lyrics of this musical were particularly clunky and its score normally overwrought. Despite this, this musical was the turning point of popular cultural representation of Jesus as it consequently made a powerful statement concerning the celebrity figure in the process. Thesis statement: The musical, Jesus Christ Superstar is about the suffering as well as the pain that was caused to an individual by the dehumanizing effect of fame. Jesus representation in Jesus Christ Superstar was particularly influenced by the Jesus Movement as well as the hippie culture that emerged in California in the late 60s. This prompted several ... • 36. Persuasive Essay On Becoming A Knight A knight is a man who served his sovereign or lord as a mounted soldier in armor. They were well trained fighters, knights were military retainers, often of humble means, but defined by their military vocation and their ability rather than any lineages ( Richard). They surfaced in the Middle Ages because it was a time when Lords needed protections along with their territories. To become a knightwas not easy there were many steps towards fulfilling knighthood. Not only did it take years of training to become a knight, but it also took bravery, courtesy, and honor known as chivalry and courtly love. A man without those qualities did not have what it takes to play this role. Knights of the Middle Ageswere first and premier warriors who fought from horseback, wore body covering armor, and used weapons such as swords and daggers to fight and protect in battle. There were five steps to knighthood, becoming a knight took years of training, during which a young man learned how to fight, ride, and behave in proper, knightley manner (Corrick 29). The first step to becoming a knight was having the right connections because it was very expensive to buy all the equipment necessary in protecting himself on the battlefield. That being said a knight usually came from a noble or wealthy family. The upbringing is the second step, if a boy came from the right family and had the ambition to be a knight by the age of seven he would have to learn all basic manners and what the role of a ... In this experiment, the main blood vessels that were explored in depth were the arteries and the veins. An artery is a muscular or elastic tube that carries oxygenated blood from the heart to the tissues of the body. The only exception to this is the pulmonary, which carries oxygen to the lungs for oxygenation and removal of excess carbon dioxide. A vein is a type of blood vessel that transports oxygen depleted blood to the right atrium of the heart. In a blood vessel, the diameter is extremely important. The clay may not have flattened enough when used as a seal in part two. The straw may not have been exactly half way up the cup, and the water my not have been exactly three quarters full. Also, the depth of the straw may not have been exactly the same over the entire lab. Moreover, the seal may have been pressed too hard onto the straw, which could have made for more pressure that was not intended. In the experiment, when there was an inner clay plug in the straw, air built up inside. Arteries observe a considerable amount of more blood pressure compared to veins. If plaque were to build up inside an artery, the higher blood pressure it experiences would force it to pop. This lab illustrates this concept in numerous ways. First, the inner clay plug in the straw forces the air to build up inside. The clay acts as an obstruction that forces the plaque(air) from exiting the straw. When there is an obstruction, more pressure (in this case blowing effort) is required to blow the air through the straw. In a blood vessel, even when plaque is building up, the pressure is kept constant and forces more plaque to stick. To maintain a constant rate of bubbles, more pressure (blowing effort) had to be applied, even at the cost of air building up inside the straw. In a blood vessel, to maintain a constant flow of blood when there is an obstruction, more blood pressure is applied, even though plaque will build up. As a side note, the marker on the cup was simply a marker, however, it was important to keep the depth of the straw in the cup consistent so that the results could be as accurate as possible. The plastic straw in the experiment represented the blood vessel that blood (in this case air) had to flow through. The flattened clay seal represented the wall that is present in blood vessel. The seal was supposed to rupture due to the fact that it was supposed to represent the thin wall that is present in veins. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
