Approaches to and Types of Genre
Genre is known to change discourse by the format the information is presented to the audience
(Varela, 2008). It is also a category of composition that is characterized by a particular style, form or
content as dictate by Webster Third Dictionary. However Trosborg (n.d) stated that for the past decade,
genre identification, classification and description have been scholarly concern. Certain scholars
dictate that genre is defined primarily around its basic external criteria such as journals and newspaper
discourse while other scholars stand on the opinion that genre can be classify by its communicative
purpose, linguistic content and form of role its play in the discourse made (Trosborg, n.d).
One of the scholar Swales (1990) stand firmly that the defining criterion for genre is the socio
rhetorical context, the categories defined by the community and communicative purpose. Therefore
there is certain approaches of a genre to be effetively delivered to the audience after taking into
account to what dictate an effective genre.
In this part of the essay, there will be discussion on how the commonly used approach of genre is
utilize for which purpose of discourse. They are, typography, oral, and iconography approach. All of
these approaches of genre usage will be discussed in detail in this section of the essay.
The first type of genre is typography genre which consist of written form of discourse. It includes
books, magazine, newspapers, websites, diaries, memorandums,

Developing Countries
Developing nations are filled with hope and aspirations of one day becoming a wealthy, dominating,
and influential country. These nations can sometimes be unsafe, difficult to live in, and hard for
workers to earn good compensation for their labor. On the other hand, living in a developed nation has
many upsides. Developed nations are wealthy, which in turn have good infrastructure, labor and
worker laws, and have less crime.
Developed nations have the superior infrastructure. These countries have more bridges that are better
maintained. They also have better highways and roads that are paved with fewer potholes. In addition,
sewers, hospitals, housing systems, and police stations are modernized with sewers having large
pumps pushing the water through to avoid floods. For instance, the city of Miami has initiated a
project aimed towards flood prevention by raising roads, installing pumps, and water mains and redo
sewer connection (Flechas, 2017). Hospitals, as well as, police stations have powerful generators that
can power all of their electrical equipment allowing them to still be effective and serve the population.
On the other hand, developing nations are very old fashioned. They are sometimes corrupt and
because they do not allow outside access from other countries they lack the knowledge and resources.
These countries are not able to create advanced hospitals with modern equipment and laboratories to
treat their patient s conditions. They also lack medical supplies

Examples Of Multiculturalism In Canada
Multiculturalism in Canada Of all the countries in the world, Canada is the most diverse nation. In
1971, Canada was the first country in the world to adopt multiculturalism as an official policy
(Government of Canada). The passion of Canadian diversity is evident in several short stories. A
multitude of perspectives informs the content of our literature. Canada expresses that we respect and
learn from cultures, accept people for their differences, and are able to combine belief systems.
Canadian identity will never be divided because it is based on many diverse cultures. Firstly, Canadian
short stories emphasize that, we respect and learn from the diversity in the cultures throughout the
nation. As shown in the reading of the story, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many cultures make up Canada, which proves why diversity has been so important in shaping the
country. Some cultures have many beliefs based on their religion. What you believe as an individual
can change another person or yourself forever. In the text, Grateful, Jenny gave Murray her graduation
gift, which was a pen, stating she thinks he would be able to use it. He later stopped searching for a
teaching job, [I] withdrew my resumés from my consideration and I opened up the book, unscrewed
the cap from the pen and began to write Jenny has inspired Murray that he can write instead of a
teaching job (Wiersema,45). Believing in others could influence their future. Canadian identities are
shaped by the lifestyles learned in their family homes. Only until Mom gets better, Raven is taking
care of his Mom and being a responsible child. (Bruyere, 95). Family is an important influence in
many cultures in Canada. Many cultures have different beliefs which makes them diverse, but the
beliefs combined is what makes Canada diverse as a whole. Canadians value their various life styles
which are defined by their own traditions and beliefs. Our cultural beliefs influence the way we
experience important life transitions such as birth, marriage and death. The Anishinaabe culture

Manifest Destiny Definition
Manifest Destiny means, the 19th century doctrine or belief that the expansion of the US throughout
the American continents was both justified and inevitable. It s also the term for the attitude during the
19th century period of american expansion that the us could stretch from sea to sea. What are the ways
we can suure manifest destiny i once asked myself, well i did some research and here s what I found
out...
First of all manifest destiny originated in the 1840s, it expressed the belief that Americans that
American territory would go from coast to coast. There was one man in particular that claimed that
manifest destiny would work and his name was O Sullivan. Tis expansion would involve not only
territorial aggrandisement but the process

Clearwater Seafoods case
Summary: Clearwater Seafood (Clearwater) is a seafood company located on the east coast of Canada,
and Clearwater Seafood income Fund with operations around the world. As a result of the increasing
importance of the Canadian dollar relative to other currencies of the world, Clearwater recently
stopped paying their distributions. The decision faced by the financial director to determine the
strategy of the company should take to enable it to recover its distribution. This is due to the choice
between various financial and operational resources to hedge currency risks that brought the company
to its current situation Background: Clearwater was founded in 1976 at Bedford, Nova Scotia as a

The availability of seafood in Canadian and Argentinean waters is also dependent on the total
allowable catch allocated to Clearwater in a given area. Although the totals allowable catch in these
areas and Clearwater s enterprise allocations have been largely stable, fishery regulators have the right
to make changes in the total allowable catch based on their assessment of the resource from time to
time. Any reduction of total allowable catches in the areas from which Clearwater sources seafood, or
the reduction of stocks due to changes in the environment or the health of certain species, may have a
material adverse effect on Clearwater s financial condition and results of operations. Resource risk is
managed through adherence to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans ( DFO ) policies and
guidelines. The guidelines, developed by DFO, are very often a cooperative effort between industry
participants and DFO. Clearwater mitigates the risk associated with resource supply and competition
through the diversification across species. Clearwater s operating costs may be negatively affected by
increases in inputs, such as energy costs, raw material and commodity prices. Clearwater uses fuel,
electricity, air and ocean freight and other materials in the production, packaging and distribution of its

Halacha Research Paper
In halacha there are four major categories of damages. There is that of the pit, the chewer, the ox, and
the fire. In the case of the 21st century car crash, there is only one main instance of damage. The
damage is when Rachel Rubenstein s self driving car hit the car of Shimon Shalom leaving him
hospitalized for a long period of time. Other than that there aren t additional damages due to the lack
of other parties that are included. When breaking down what the actual damage category the accident
falls into according to halacha it is important to describe what the car is. This is because there is no
actual clear cut decision on cases like this because it isn t explicitly stated in the torah. Obviously

First off, the car moves, which is a trait of fire (Bava Kama 1:1 The fire is more strict that the pit since
its nature is to move around and cause damage. ). Next, the car is forewarned along with the fire (Bava
Kama 9b 10a). This is because Rachel Rubenstein knew she was purchasing a vehicle with inherent
danger when she bought the car, regardless if it was driverless or regular. According to Bava Kama
2:6, A person is always considered warned [i.e. fully liable] whether accidental or intentional, whether
awake or asleep. Mrs. Rubenstein was warned of the possible danger according to this statement.
Finally, the car is not alive. As we have stated the cars artificial intelligence is just that, artificial. It
doesn t have free will nor does it have a neshama (soul). The type of damage also reflects on the next
step that must be taken in the Beit Din. According to Shemot 22:5 and Bava Kama 22a b, whomever
set the fire is responsible for the damages it causes. This mean that Rachel Rubenstein is responsible,
both because she bought the car in the first place and also for starting the car, both of which could be
likened to the starting of the

The Color White Analysis
The color white has many meanings ranging from innocence to light. For weddings, a white dress
means purity while a white piece of paper means a clean slate. All of the meanings seems far fetch to
the people who consider themselves indecent even if they want to change. In this play Willie fits into
this group of people. The blank paper appears several times in the dialogue which shows that it has
some significance to Willie. She evens compares the sky to to color of a clean piece of paper (1090).
Willie s life is no where near fitting for a thirteen year old, and she maybe rethinking her past while

The doll is falling apart do to age or neglect (1083). Willie is telling Tom all of these wonderful stories
about her inherited beaux and Alva while holding the doll. Everything seems innocent, but there is a
hidden meaning behind the her doll. Williams describes Willie as childlike and laughing randomly
while resembling a doll with her makeup (1083). Willie tells Tom that she is worried about washing
the dolls hair because of the doll s compound fracture (1088). She says, I think that most of her brains
spilled out. She s been acting silly ever since. Saying an doing the most outrageous things (1088). The
doll s compound fracture and brains spilling out represents Willie after losing her parents and sister
while now being homeless. Spilling brains can make a person go crazy and so can losing all of their
family members like Willie. She evens refers herself as being peculiar to Tom in the beginning of their
conversation (1082). Since her parents are gone, Willie looks up to Alva instead. She learns to sleep
with men from her sister which is an outrageous thing to do for a thirteen year old. Although she is
talking to her doll in the dialogue, Willie is speaking of herself. The doll resembles Willie in some
ways. She still tries to convince Tom that her life can be extravagant, but the doll is showing

Planning A Family Trip
Planning a family trip is appealing and a bit stressful, but that is all washed away once the journey
commences because you are with family and friends. And the thought of enjoying the trip alone never
crosses your mind. Additionally, the odds of ending up in a somewhat seedy location is not top of
mind. In consideration, a significant portion of the of discussion and planning is based on the needs of
your family. However, the same process of planning a solo trip is not nearly the same thing, and if you
are a female solo traveler, there are some additional tips and tricks to consider before booking your
next trip.
Earlier this year, for example, several popular sites including SmarterTravel.com and Trip.com
published safety tip focused articles detailing experiences from other solo female travelers. The U.S.
State Department also issued a list of countries this year which included Mexico, and Egypt among
others that were placed with travel alerts, to warn travelers overall of what to expect. Per the U.S.
State Department travel warnings are issued, for short term events we think you should know about
when planning travel to a country. Examples of reasons for issuing a travel alert might include an
election season that is bound to have many strikes, demonstrations, or disturbances; a health alert like
an outbreak of H1N1; or evidence of an elevated risk of terrorist attacks. When these short term events
are over, we cancel the Travel Alert. Additionally, Trip.com found

The Lord Of The Flies Zeitgeism Essay
A zeitgeist embodies the mood and spirit of a certain era in history. Although it isn t fully
understandable to the readers and the authors themselves, the set of ideals and beliefs that dominate
the actions taken by the members of society provide a simple basis of understanding of a time period.
Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, focuses on a post apocalyptic WWll world, in which a group of
British schoolboys is left stranded on a deserted island without any adult supervision. These innocent
children, in time, turn to savagery as the absence of order shifts them towards a more primitive
society. These turn of events, captured through the eyes of the adolescence, expresses Golding s
feelings of the evil nature of man and how even the purest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the boys within the novel except Simon begin to turn to savagery shortly after they realize that
they would much rather have fun and play games than get their priorities straight, such as getting off
the island. This can be supported by the fact that Simon, a holy figure, realizes the presence of a beast
on the island, and how in time, it is to be revealed through Simon s thoughts that maybe it s only us
(Golding 82). The concept of this novel serves as a counterpart to another novel called The Coral
Island, written during the late 1850 s, almost a century before the publication of the Lord of the Flies
(Text 2). Instead of boys turning to savagery, The Coral Island captures the essence of the innocence,
and how the nature of unlawfulness is ineffective to their behavior. The Lord of the Flies, in response
to its counterpart, captures the true meaning of a zeitgeist, and how it embodies the mood of certain

Reflective Statement:
One day in the life of Ivan Denisovich was written by Alexander Solzhenitsyn. Solzhenitsyn was born
on December 11th, 1918 in Kislovodsk, Russia. He was 89 when he died on August 3rd 2008.
Solzhenitsyn based the book on the World War 2 period, particularly the famous labour camps for
prisoners in Germany and East Prussia known as gulags . Life in the gulags were tough due to the
gulags being open aired and given the sub zero temperatures, survival was difficult. Solzhenitsyn, in
this book, describes the difficulty of life in the gulag, full of brutality, hard manual labour, sub zero
temperatures, the disgusting food rationed to the prisoners and survival. Only people who are able to
cope with the conditions and manage the system can hope to survive. I chose the novel One day in the
life of Ivan Denisovich as I found the book, especially the gulags, interesting. My topic is How is the

Mahathir Mohamad
What is dilemma? Basically dilemma is a situation in which a difficult choice has to be made between
two or more alternatives, especially equally undesirable ones. In this case, Malay Dilemma and
Malaysia Dilemma is to be compared
Malaysia is one of the great international success stories of the past generation. Back then, Malaysia
lagged behind Haiti in per capita income but since then it has grown an average of 7 percent annually
and would rank third in per capita wealth in the Western Hemisphere. In any standard, the growth is
very outstanding. Moreover, Malaysia had evolved from an agrarian economy since its independence

Since, there are also pleas for a shift to social development , which is believed to add more to
happiness than continued economic development does. Social development is a rhetoric notion in the

term suggests something more communitarian than market economy, leaving open what that precisely
is. The concept functions in fact as an umbrella for different alternative views, suggesting that these go
together. The organ donation among Malaysian leads to the Malay Dilemma on social development
because eventhough the Malays in Malaysia is the largest ethnics, but unfortunately the statistics
shows that the Malays are the least to sign up for organ donation. As we know, organ donation among

take initiative with good judgments. We should always work with what we got and do it with no
hesitation, but most importantly, to go above and beyond the call of duty. Staying motivated and

Lincoln Savings And Loan Association Summary
Lincoln Savings and Loan Association
Summary In 1978, Charles Keating, Jr. founded the American Continental Corp. and used it to acquire
the Lincoln Savings and Loan Association in 1984 with the promises to retain the Lincoln
management team, not expand with brokered deposits, and maintain focus on residential home loans.
Five years later, Keating s obvious deviation from these promises and subsequent involvement in high
risk land development projects led to the Federal Home Loan Bank Board to close the savings and
loan. The methods to circumvent banking laws, the advocacy of U.S. Senators, and failure of auditors
and the accounting profession as a whole to prevent the savings and loan from reporting millions of

Dozens of similar deals would allow ACC to withdraw huge sums of cash ultimately funded by the

Jim Crow Newspapers
After the end of Reconstruction in the Southern United States, many emancipated slaves looked to the
North for a number of opportunities that evaded them in the Jim Crow south. Either individually, as a

states. The ability to move not just from plantation to plantation but now around the entire country as
well as own land, and receive and education in order to earn a skilled labor job were hallmarks of the
newly free group. Newspapers became important staples in these new, majority black communities.

A windshield survey of a San Juan Capistrano community in the zip code area of 92675 (see Figure 1,

opportunities to improve the health of the community (Stanhope Lancaster, 2012). There was a focus

next to the Boys and Girls Club, community center and community garden (see Figures 4 7,

Crime rate in 2011 decreased compared to the previous year, from 544 to 504 incidents. Majority of
the crime reported were larceny (San Juan Capistrano, CA, 2012).
Windshield Survey
On Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m., the Los Rios Street neighborhood of San Juan Capistrano was
relatively quiet with some young Hispanic adults waiting at, and walking to a bus stop. Many young
Hispanic children were playing outside in the front yards, sidewalks, and alleys. Middle aged and
older adults were out walking, and several groups of bicyclists (probably not from the neighborhood)
were riding down the main roads. While driving through the streets and alleys, four garage sales were
noted. The appearance of the residential areas varied between neighborhoods, however, most homes
and yards were well maintained. In some of the less affluent neighborhoods there appeared to be more

To Kill A Mockingbird Relevance
Even though a novel may have been written years ago, it could still be considered relevant to present
day. In the case of To Kill a Mockingbird, some teachers still believe it is relevant and teach it to their
students. A former teacher at Ames High School in Iowa has stated that he continued to teach To Kill a
Mockingbird for his 38 years of teaching because he felt that the book was still relevant through the
way it portrayed the love, respect, and courage. He also believed it encouraged students to engage
students deep into the story as well as use their imagination (Rhinehart). Another teacher at the same
high school also chooses to teach the novel because she believes students can relate the themes of the
book such as stereotypes back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Foley, an English teacher in Washington, challenged the use of The Adventures of Huckleberry
Finn, Of Mice and Men, and To Kill a Mockingbird in high school English classes due to the racial
slurs and the way African Americans are portrayed in the novels. Foley suggested other novels that
still fit the curriculum that were considered to be less controversial. He believed his students, who
were mostly from minorities, felt uncomfortable and were uninterested in the novels since the racial
slurs used were directly aimed at the race they identified with. He stated the his past students would
not be able to focus on the overall theme of the book, but focused on the racial language used by the
author. He felt the new novels he suggested would be easier for his students to relate to in their
subjects and the events that take place within them are more recent (Albright). Foley s solution to his
problem is similar to the one mentioned in this essay. The main difference is his motivation behind
why the novels need to be changed; instead of just focusing on the relevance of the novel, he focuses
on the language and the negative emotions it

Ageing Population And The Aging Population
Introduce the topic of the aging population and the ways in which people are trying to look and feel
younger and healthier. The world is ageing rapidly. People aged 60 and older make up 12.3 per cent of
the global population, and by 2050, that number will rise to almost 22 per cent according to the United
Nations Population Fund (UNPF). In the United States of America, the older population defined as
persons 65 years or older numbered 46.2 million in 2014.They represented 14.5% of the U.S.
population, about one in every seven Americans. By 2060, there will be about 98 million older
persons, more than twice their number in 2014.

Communicative Language Teaching Essay
Introduction
Communication is an essential tool in our daily life, an aspect that has led to the continuous demand
for learning and teaching of the English language that is widely spoken in the world. It has led to the
development of interest in most people to have the desire to enhance their capacity to the use of the
language, so as to have a good command of the semantic (Gupta, 2004). However, there are different
approaches through which people learn the language that include the formal and informal tactics. The
increased interest to learn English has led to the demand for an effective and efficient approach to
teaching the subject as will be discussed in the above paper. There is need to produce students who
can accurately and fluently communicate as required by the employers and the society in general.
Communicative language teaching, (CLT) has existed since the 1970s and has played a significant role
in the instruction and learning of language (Richards, 2006). Although there are new approaches to
English teaching, it is important to appreciate the fact that CLT still plays an essential role in the
language use and learning. The purpose of the above paper is to give evidence of the relevance of CLT

Shamanistic Healing Essay
Shamanistic Healing
Shamanistic healing, one of the oldest spiritual healing powers, has recently become a topic of interest
in modern medicine.
What is Shamanism?
Shamanism is a mix of magic, folklore, medicine and spirituality that evolved in tribal and gathering
communities thousands of years ago. Shamanic faith presumes that everyone and everything has a
spirit which is a part of a greater whole, and that spirits affect all events, including illness and disease.
In the tradition of Shamanism it is believed that certain people named shamans exhibit particular
magical specialties at birth; the most common specialization is that of a healer. A Shaman is believed

First the physiological response is when the mind becomes absorbed in and focused on a dominant
idea and the nervous system is cut off from physical sensory input. The body exhibits reflex inertia,
involuntary nervous responses, and frenzy. Emotional perception, another form of ecstasy, refers to
overwhelming feelings of awe, anxiety, joy, sadness, fear, astonishment, passion, or any combination
of intense emotion. Finally, intuitive perception occurs when there is an understanding of the
transpersonal experience and expanded states of awareness or consciousness are possible. While the
physiological response is always present, the emotional response and intuitive perception may not be
within reach for all those who venture into ecstatic trance. Opposed to general hypnosis, practicing
shamanic techniques uses self hypnotic states to fine tune senses and observe the inner workings of
ones mind semi consciously. Research findings suggest that the contents of shamanic trance are not
solely influenced by psychopathology, biochemical effects, or cultural influences; there is a spiritual
variable that must be accounted for.

The Importance Of A General Contractor Manager

Finding an interest in any kind of job or what career you want to have when you grow up is difficult
for many people. As for me my interest is becoming a General Contractor for construction, it interest
me because I like doing projects that I can build and design and pretty much plan it out all by myself .
As a General Contractor Manager I ll be able to plan the construction project, coordinate, budget, and
supervise construction projects from development to completion and manage throughout the project. I
ve done a research about contractors for construction and they make really good money and I like how
they re able to plan out the project and manage throughout the whole project. They win really good
money and I doubt they actually go to the construction site and start building. They go to the
construction site and start to plan out the project with other contractors.
Approximately 16% of the employment growth in 2012 2022 is really good and approximately 57% of
general contractors are self employed. Being self employed is probably much better and with a general
contractor degree, you ll be able to make a lot more money than working for a construction company.
For me I wouldn t mind for working with a construction company at first. Once I know I can manage
to handle to own my own company I will, I know it ll be stressful but I ll get more money being self
employed. I know how stressing it would be because my dad has his own company of landscaping

Feudal Warrior DBQ
In a time when exploration and travel was limited, polar opposite parts of the world were most likely
different, so it makes sense that their warriors would be completely different, right? This is however,
not the case for the warriors of Medieval Europe and Japan; the knights and samurai, respectively,
who are more similar than we think. These warriors arose during a time when feudal governments
ruled the lands in both reaches of the word, the warring lords and Daimyos needed military support
and protection. In turn, these warriors were in high demand and were given land by these lords and
daimyos in exchange for support and protection, creating the arise of the warrior. However, many
believe that these two warriors are worlds apart, however they are much more alike than believed.

In the story the birds attacked when the tide came in and in the film the birds attack in brief intervals,

characters are a family: a husband, wife, and two children. The film s characters are a woman and a

readers are just left with the family in the house fearing for their lives from the birds coming in and

In the film the characters are able to slip out of the house during a quiet interval and drive away. The
short story and the film have the same plots and the same conflict of man vs. man, man vs. nature,

Taboo In Utah Culture
Taboo is defined as a social subject, person, place, or thing, prohibited by a social custom. In my
definition of the work taboo, it means that something is not appropriate in the culture I live in. For
example it is Taboo in Utah culture is to be a Democrat because most of the state are Republicans,
they look at Democrats and the think that they are communists. In my survey that I interviewed 10
people there was some surprising results and some foods were considered more taboo than others. For
example the number one food that most people would never eat was human beings. Eating human
beings is considered taboo because our societies stance that killing and eating our fellow kind is
immoral and is one of the worst crimes that you can commit. I also found that insects and animals that
we are closely related to have a stigma of being taboo in our society. After my research I would have

Moon Cake Festival Essay
Moon Cake Festival: A Mid Autumn Festival (Chung Chiu), the third major festival of the Chinese
calendar, is celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month. This festival corresponds to harvest
festival s observed by Western cultures (in Hong Kong, it is held in conjunction with the annual
Lantern Festival). Contrary to what most people believe, this festival probably has less to do with
harvest festivities than with the philosophically minded chinese of old. The union of man s spirit with
nature in order to achieve perfect harmony was the fundamental canon of Taoism, so much so that
contemplation of nature was a way of life. This festival is also known as the Moon Cake Festival
because a special kind of sweet cake (yueh ping) prepared ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The old man on the moon: There is a saying in Chinese that marriages are made in heaven and
prepared on the moon. The man who does the preparing is the old man of the moon (Yueh Lao Yeh).
This old man, it is said, keep as a record book with all the names of newborn babies. He is the one
heavenly person who knows everyone s future partners, and nobody can fight the decisions written
down in his book. He is one reason why the moon is so important in Chinese mythology and
especially at the time of the Moon Festival. Everybody including children, hikes up high mountains or
hills or onto open beached to view the moon in the hope that he will grant their wishes. To celebrate
this sighting of the moon, red plastic lanterns wrought in traditional styles and embellished with
traditional motifs are prepared for the occasion. It is quite a sight to see Victoria Park in Causeway
Bay, or Morse Park in Kowloon, alight with thousands of candlelit lanterns. These Lantern Carnivals
also occur spontaneously on most of the colony s beaches. The lantern are made in such traditional
shapes are rabbits, goldfish, carps, butterflies, lobsters and star shaped fruits. However, in modern
Hong Kong you will also see lantern in the shape of missiles, airplanes, rockets, ships and tanks. In
Chinese mythology, the butterfly is the symbols of longevity and the lobster the symbols or mirth. Star
shaped fruit is the seasonal fruit in the autumn, and the crap is an old symbol of the Emperor,

Persuasive Essay On The Fifth Amendment
As we sit and watch some of your favorite television shows, Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, and The
Blacklist, we can catch the prominent phrases, right to remain silent... and/or I plead the fifth in one or
two scenes leading to interrogation. Although the television shows are fiction, the statements are
factual and are part of the U.S. Constitution to protect a person against self incrimination. Self
incrimination plays a vast part of the Bill of Right, specifically the Fifth Amendment. The Fifth
Amendment has protected many Americans from punishment. Yet, this Amendment also has made it
possible for guilty verdicts in criminal cases. This was possible with the historical adoption of the
Fifth Amendment, the implementation of the five different clauses, and numerous criminal cases that
established the strength of the Fifth Amendment.
The philosophies behind the Fifth Amendment traced back to Magna Carta, 1215. The Magna Carta
specified that No person shall ... be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law ...
. Although England s King John did not agree to the term willingly, the Magna Carta was signed in
hope to build a relationship between the King and the nobles and keep the peace. Unfortunately, the
signed Magna Carta annulled by Pope Innocent II. In 1613, Sir Edward Coke also advocated for the
Magna Carta as part of his approach toward the power struggle of the courts. Coke argued that all
matters needed to be addressed through the law of the

Summer Holidays
Summary The article, Should children study in the summer holidays? (Jackson, 2017) discusses the
pros and cons of continuing a child s education throughout their summer vacation. In favor of this idea
was Vivien Stiles, a professional tutor for Kumon, who argued that studying over the summer would
help children ease back into a full school year. Stiles continued to explain the program as a two day
school week which teaches Mathematics and English. The average time it takes for each student to
complete their homework for their class is between 15 and 90 minutes. Others, like Tanith Carey, fear
that extending classroom education into the summer may overwhelm some young minds. She
explained how her daughter felt so overwhelmed by her education experience she tried to deny an
award she won because there was too much that surrounded the acceptance of that award. Once Carey
realized how much stress the extra schooling during the summer was causing her daughter, she
removed her from the tutoring program so she could play and experience a stress free childhood. Over
years the results have been quite positive for Carey and her two daughters as they have both found
passions in the arts and are leading healthy happy lives. She stresses the importance of learning not
only in classrooms, but through nature, exploring, and experiencing the natural environment around
them. According to Carey some parents are overlooking how much their children really learn when
they are able to explore

Grande Popular Song
The message that Ariana Grande is trying to convey in the song Popular Song is that you don t have to
have nice things, just be nice to everyone and do things you like to do. In the song it says, And all that
you have to do, is be true to you. This line to me means that you should do things you like to do not
what others are doing and you will succeed. This line ties in to the main message because being true to
you means to do things you like, which is part of the main message. It s not about who you are or your
fancy car. The meaning of this line to me is that the things you have doesn t make you popular, it s
what you do. This relates to Arians message, that you don t have to have nice things to be popular and
a fancy car is a nice

These nations can sometimes be unsafe, difficult to live in, and hard for workers to earn good compensation for their labor. On the other hand, living in a developed nation has many upsides. Developed nations are wealthy, which in turn have good infrastructure, labor and worker laws, and have less crime. Developed nations have the superior infrastructure. These countries have more bridges that are better maintained. They also have better highways and roads that are paved with fewer potholes. In addition, sewers, hospitals, housing systems, and police stations are modernized with sewers having large pumps pushing the water through to avoid floods. For instance, the city of Miami has initiated a project aimed towards flood prevention by raising roads, installing pumps, and water mains and redo sewer connection (Flechas, 2017). Hospitals, as well as, police stations have powerful generators that can power all of their electrical equipment allowing them to still be effective and serve the population. On the other hand, developing nations are very old fashioned. They are sometimes corrupt and because they do not allow outside access from other countries they lack the knowledge and resources. While driving through the streets and alleys, four garage sales were noted. The appearance of the residential areas varied between neighborhoods, however, most homes and yards were well maintained. In some of the less affluent neighborhoods there appeared to be more brown patches and dead grass in the yards, but most properties were in good condition. John Foley, an English teacher in Washington, challenged the use of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Of Mice and Men, and To Kill a Mockingbird in high school English classes due to the racial slurs and the way African Americans are portrayed in the novels. Foley suggested other novels that still fit the curriculum that were considered to be less controversial. He believed his students, who were mostly from minorities, felt uncomfortable and were uninterested in the novels since the racial slurs used were directly aimed at the race they identified with. He stated the his past students would not be able to focus on the overall theme of the book, but focused on the racial language used by the author. He felt the new novels he suggested would be easier for his students to relate to in their subjects and the events that take place within them are more recent (Albright). Foley s solution to his problem is similar to the one mentioned in this essay. The main difference is his motivation behind why the novels need to be changed; instead of just focusing on the relevance of the novel, he focuses on the language and the negative emotions it ... This festival corresponds to harvest festival s observed by Western cultures (in Hong Kong, it is held in conjunction with the annual Lantern Festival). Contrary to what most people believe, this festival probably has less to do with harvest festivities than with the philosophically minded chinese of old. The union of man s spirit with nature in order to achieve perfect harmony was the fundamental canon of Taoism, so much so that contemplation of nature was a way of life. This festival is also known as the Moon Cake Festival because a special kind of sweet cake (yueh ping) prepared ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Persuasive Essay On The Fifth Amendment As we sit and watch some of your favorite television shows, Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, and The Blacklist, we can catch the prominent phrases, right to remain silent... and/or I plead the fifth in one or two scenes leading to interrogation. Although the television shows are fiction, the statements are factual and are part of the U.S. Constitution to protect a person against self incrimination. Self incrimination plays a vast part of the Bill of Right, specifically the Fifth Amendment. The Fifth Amendment has protected many Americans from punishment. Yet, this Amendment also has made it possible for guilty verdicts in criminal cases. This was possible with the historical adoption of the Fifth Amendment, the implementation of the five different clauses, and numerous criminal cases that established the strength of the Fifth Amendment. • 44. Summer Holidays Summary The article, Should children study in the summer holidays? (Jackson, 2017) discusses the pros and cons of continuing a child s education throughout their summer vacation. In favor of this idea was Vivien Stiles, a professional tutor for Kumon, who argued that studying over the summer would help children ease back into a full school year. Stiles continued to explain the program as a two day school week which teaches Mathematics and English. The average time it takes for each student to complete their homework for their class is between 15 and 90 minutes. Others, like Tanith Carey, fear that extending classroom education into the summer may overwhelm some young minds. She explained how her daughter felt so overwhelmed by her education experience she tried to deny an award she won because there was too much that surrounded the acceptance of that award. Once Carey realized how much stress the extra schooling during the summer was causing her daughter, she removed her from the tutoring program so she could play and experience a stress free childhood. Over years the results have been quite positive for Carey and her two daughters as they have both found passions in the arts and are leading healthy happy lives. She stresses the importance of learning not only in classrooms, but through nature, exploring, and experiencing the natural environment around them. According to Carey some parents are overlooking how much their children really learn when they are able to explore ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Grande Popular Song The message that Ariana Grande is trying to convey in the song Popular Song is that you don t have to have nice things, just be nice to everyone and do things you like to do. In the song it says, And all that you have to do, is be true to you. This line to me means that you should do things you like to do not what others are doing and you will succeed. This line ties in to the main message because being true to you means to do things you like, which is part of the main message. It s not about who you are or your fancy car. The meaning of this line to me is that the things you have doesn t make you popular, it s what you do. This relates to Arians message, that you don t have to have nice things to be popular and a fancy car is a nice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
