Good Night And Good Luck Film Analysis
Good Night, and Good Luck, is a film made by George Clooney in 2005. In response to the Iraq
war. It follows the story of Sig Mickelson played by Jeff Daniels. A newscaster who is set in his
values, exposing corruption, and keeping the government in line. In a time when America was
having a communist red scare.
This film did transitions amazingly every time a there was a major change in the plot. The
audience hears a female singing in a film with almost no music at all. This really help the
audience see that some major change is happening. And on the topic of transitions/ camera work.
A lot of the transitions are very creative for example one of the shots was shot through a mirror in
the set piece showing the characters. This was really cool seeing it show that Clooney is actually
putting in effort to plan his scenes and working with his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also ended rather abruptly which might have been what Clooney was going for. The problem
with not wrapping up the film and leaving open end/ to the audience s imagination. Is that it
loses all mass market appeal. It also is a lot harder on the audience to connect all the threads in
the plot. This seems to be found in a lot of these art house/film festival films. But overall it just
feels like the film could have been two hours not the 90 minutes that it is. Now saying that this is
one film that would be not the same if you cut 10 minutes out of. Dissimilar to a lot of the mass
market/ big budget films.
Overall Good Night, and Good Luck was a great film by George Clooney. It shows film makers
how to use color or lack of, angles, and transitions. It also shows off how a small low budget film
can keep you on the edge of your seat the same ass large block busters, and it also is able to
present the viewer with a political point without basically making it super obvious. It is definitely

Dislodged Cell Essay
Dislodged cells undergo a Special type of cell death named anoikis based on loss of cell matrix
interaction mediated by intrinsic and extrinsic apoptotic pathway. In intrinsic pathway after cell
ECM detachment, BH3 only proteins (Bim and Bid) stimulate Bax and Bak pro apoptotic proteins
oligomerization and pore creation in mitochondrial outer membrane. Because of these pores,
cytochrome C and SMAC/DIABLO proteins will be release from mitochondria into the cytosol.
Ultimately apoptosome complex formation induces executioner caspase activation and proteolysis.

Also in oxidative stress, inducing ATG proteins expression through PERK (Protein kinase RNA

Another temporary saving strategy in physiological condition is Provisional disengagement occurs
during cell migration. Cells take a different type of motility style in their transient displacement
like Mesenchymal and amoeboid movement. Motile cells with Mesenchymal form exhibit pro
survival signals activation. In amoeboid motile cells interaction with ECM does not require for
movement and survival and they suppress anoikis by using cytokine and growth factor instead of
ECM proteins. Acquisition of the Mesenchymal phenotype is functionally associated with the
ability to overcome anoikis /another process involved in anoikis resistance is EMT which is an
essential feature that allows epithelial cells participate in physiological process like
embryogenesis. EMT in cancer cells / also cancer cells acquire Mesenchymal feature which allow

Best Buy The Importance of Organizational Culture and Change
Organizational cultures that can be a liability to an organization include those that create barriers
to change, create barriers to diversity or barriers to mergers and acquisitions. (Robbins, S. P. 2011)
Organizational cultures are also good for change and revitalization of a company. This paper will
provide background information on Best Buy and the ROWE (Results Only Work Environment)
Program. This paper will describe the culture of Best Buy. This paper will also discuss the
approach to organizational change that the ROWE program illustrates. This case has sources of

Managers resisted the change more than other employees did. One manager had to accept that his
style of managing was to treat his employees as unruly children. He felt that with the new program,
these employees were not going to abide by the rules. Managers also did not think that hourly
employees like administrative assistants should be a part of the ROWE program. In the manager s
way of thinking, administrative assistants had to be at their desks throughout the day in case a
member of management needed them.
Discuss the sources of stress that are apparent in the case.
Despite all the good changes that the ROWE program generated, stress is still apparent. Change
is difficult when certain behaviors are already a part of the daily routine. An employee who
works in the finance department received a call from one of Best Buy s suppliers. Apparently,
he did not receive payment for the last order and threatened to stop delivery of any supplies until
he received payment. If she stayed at work to resolve the problem, she would not be able to go
home and attend to a personal matter. The new changes were difficult to adopt. The employee was
part of the ROWE program and she was allowed to make her own work schedule and leave, if
necessary, without anyone judging her. The employee knows she could handle both matters just not

Lorelai Victoria Gilmore
Prenatal/Perinatal Development
It s a girl! Lorelai Victoria Gilmore was born on April 26, 1968 with no known birth defects to
Emily and Richard Gilmore. She got an APGAR rating of one for appearance, two for pulse, two
for grimace, a one for activity, and a two for respiration. Her mothers choose to breast feed her
because breast milk is almost always the best food (lecture slides). She used disposable diapers
because they are easier and Lorelai would just ruin the reusable ones anyway like she ruined her
pretty white dress with twelve petticoats when she spilled grape juice on it during her first birthday
pictures. She slept in a crib because it reduces the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)

She does not have any known genetic disorders that would affect her progress in school. Lorelai
has been acting differently lately; one day she refuses to go to school and Emily demands to
know why she does not want to go to school, pestering her until Lorelai spills that she is being
bullied at school by a peer so Emily speaks with the bully s parents and uses her connections to
the principle s wife to assure that Lorelai will be protected from the bully. She fails to address
Lorelais emotional needs though since bullying can lead to depression and suicidal thoughts.
She also prompts the bully to transition from blatant sexual comments and gestures to using
relational aggression to isolate Lorelai and try to make her peers ignore her (Ludden, 2015). This
attempt is not very successful because, aside from the bully and his immediate clique, Lorelai s
wit and gregariousness makes her popular among her peers. Emily gets a call from the neighbor
that Lorelai threw a rock through their window so she politely tells the neighbor that she will pay
for the window and invites the neighbor to dinner that night where Lorelai is made to formally
apologize. Lorelai is

Literary Interpretation In Kich By Carolyn Kizer s Bitch
Carolyn Kizer s Bitch is describing the unnamed woman s feelings towards an ex lover from an
unspecified time in the past, which she has just encountered. The woman was extremely hurt by
the ex and has a lot of anger deep inside towards this person, but does not want to demonstrate it.
The main image is the speaker and the ex lover running into one another and catching up. Now,
when he and I meet, after all these years, I say to the bitch in me, don t start growling. (Kizer
1,2). The tone of the poem is angry, sad, and reflects a relationship where she was hurt and misses
the other person. The woman tries to control her inner feelings when she encounters the man,
concealing her true feelings with polite conversation. Just by the tone of her inner feelings, you
can see the woman thinks the man from her past caused her harm. The woman of Carolyn Kizer s
Bitch provides a satiric interpretation of a typical meeting between her and an ex lover since the
end of their relationship. In a single, thirty four line stanza, the woman participates in a witty
monologue that displays a ideally ironic division: the woman s two coinciding but opposite
interchanges, one entailing of the woman s external conversation with her former lover and the
other of silent warnings, threats, and clarifications to her inner self, represented in the poem as a
bitch. The speaker is camouflaging compelling emotions with external civility. While the hiding of
true feelings is an everyday

Essay On Real Estate Training
Who?
Who can and who should take the real estate training or course?
Practically anyone who wants to make a career in the property industry can choose to go for the
training. If one feels that they can carve their niche in the property sector and have what it takes to
excel in the profession, a good real estate course will be of crucial importance.
Amid the current financial recession when all industries appear to be toppling, property industry is
still somewhat stable. Although there is an evident slowdown in the industry, yet it is growing. So
the requirement for real estate professionals has not eroded and every property company needs a
property professional. Today, when career opportunities in other professions show a great deal of...

The Republic
The subject matter of the Republic is the nature of justice and its relation to human existence. Book
I of the republic contains a critical examination of the nature and virtue of justice. Socrates engages
in a dialectic with Thrasymachus, Polemarchus, and Cephalus, a method which leads to the asking
and answering of questions which directs to a logical refutation and thus leading to a convincing
argument of the true nature of justice. And that is the main function of Book I, to clear the ground
of mistaken or inadequate accounts of justice in order to make room for the new theory. Socrates
attempts to show that certain beliefs and attitudes of justice and its nature are inadequate or
inconsistent, and present a way in which those... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

br Cephalus argues that finding old age as a good thing will depend on whether you have the
disposition of those who have order and peace with themselves . And he identifies this
disposition with the inclination not to tell lies or deceive and the willingness to fulfill
obligations to gods and men. He believes that a life which manifests these disposition is the life
of a just person, of a person conscious of having lived free from injustice . It is unclear whether
Cephalus takes it that being conscious of having lived free from injustices is simply that one has
not cheated or told lies and having fulfilled the obligations to gods and man. Because of the
living of a just life is merely to follow these guidelines then it is not implied if these virtues are
attributed to a specific personality, or of an orderly and peaceful character. If his argument is not
correctly linked then there is no reason to correlate living justly with the possession of a certain
character; the just character. It could turn out that the benefits of just conduct are the possession of
a particular sort of character.
br
br Socrates remarks that telling the truth and returning what is borrowed cannot be the definition of
justice (as outlined by Cephalus), he claims that instances of the types of action Cephalus thinks of
as just, can in different circumstances be identified as cases of unjust. Socrates launches into a
description of the act of giving a borrowed

John Keegan s The Face Of Battle
John Keegan s The Face of Battle and Sir Charles Oman s The Art of War in the Middle Ages
provide insight into how historians approach the subject of battle. When discussing warfare,
historians typically approach the subject from a procedural point of view, but it has also become
normal to focus on combatants experiences. By cross comparing Keegan and Oman s descriptions
of the Battleof Agincourt, it is apparent that both the procedural method and the method of focusing
on individuals have merit. However, Keegan and Oman s alternate depictions of the battle
demonstrate how combining both perspectives give a more complete understanding of the past.
Historical writings have evolved from procedural accounts of events to inquisitive reflections on
combatants. Focusing on weapons, strategies and generals perspectives the procedural approach
quickly provides in depth information, but often in a distorted way 1. It is important to remember
a commander s actions and the events of their battles are often exaggerated to support current
political goals . Alternately, a slightly more encompassing approach to warfare considers the
conflict s decisiveness in addition to the battle s statistics and facts 1. That is to say, what influence
did the battle have on future events and how were people s lives changed by it. Beyond these
procedural approaches, modern historians now use a more inquisitive method that combines
personal experiences and facts. This more inclusive method allows

The Giving Tree By Shel Silverstein
The Joy of Giving The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein is a great story about morals and life
lessons. The thought is we should give without expecting anything in return, and what will return to
us is happiness. The Giving Tree illustrates both the difficulty as well as the reward of
unconditional love and giving. The Giving Treebegins with a boy who befriends a tree. Each day
the boy would come to the tree and play with her leaves and climb her branches. When he would
get tired he would take a nap in the shade of the tree; and the tree was happy (Silverstein).
However, as time went on and the boy got older, he had less frequent trips to visit the tree. Time
went on and the boy returned. The tree wanted the boy to play on her... Show more content on

At this point, the story seemed to come full circle as the boy had returned to rest where he had
begun. He had lived his life and even after he had taken all the tree had, she was still happy he
was there. This showed the unconditional love she had for him, even when he gave little in
return. The Giving Tree also shows a bit of selfishness. The boy seemed to be more interested in
material possessions instead of the tree s feelings. It could also argue the point that humans
need to have respect for the environment instead of taking advantage of the resources it
provides. Eventually, if humans take everything, there will be nothing left to give like the story
suggests. We can relate The Giving Tree to parents and their children. A parent would do almost
anything to help and care for their child. They also want to be involved in their child s life as
they grow older. As we grow older, we can forget where we come from and who helped us get
where we are. We begin to miss that peace of mind as time goes on, and we return to our roots to
rest and catch up with our loved ones. Those who love and give to us unconditionally are not
forgotten even if we don t always

Rhetorical Analysis Of Barack Obama s State Of The Union
In his State of the Union Address for 2016, Barack Obama uses logical and ethical arguments to
emphasize shared ground rather than partisan disputes. He also taps into the audience s desire to
feel better about themselves and their country. By using humor and irony, Obama paints his
opponents into corners, out of which it would require outrageous extremism to effectively squirm
away. At its best, this approach demonstrates how much Americans actually have in common in a
culture dominated by ideologically polarized cable news channels, Facebook, and cultural tribes
that increasingly live and socialize apart from one another. The president s technique throughout the
speech is to frame issues through a rhetorical jujitsu to persuade his opponents,... Show more

Using rhetorical jujitsu, he reframes Republican arguments into a context that ensures that his
own policies appear very strong. His opponents in the audience were often at a loss, never
confident in whether or not they should applaud. Paul Ryan, visible throughout, makes it very
hard to discern what policies he supports and opposes by basically having no reaction at all. He
shifts uncomfortably in his chair throughout the speech, and barely claps for anything. Obama s
emphasis on a shared American identity (55:00) is ultimately a criticism against both right and left
against the sort of right winger who sees Obama himself as a strange foreigner and the sort left
winger who sees ethnic or gender identity as the most important aspect of an individual s identity.

Martin Luther And The Reformation
Thesis Statement
The purpose of my paper will reflect the life of Martin Luther during the Reformation period and the
changes brought forth as a result of his teachings and writings. Luther s findings not only
transformed his own actions, but change the thought process of millions. The study of Martin Luther
is the key that unlocks the background of the Protestant Reformation and it s origins.
Introduction
Research on Martin Luther was chosen to demonstrate the importance of his works, and decisions
that not only fueled his purpose, but changed the church for generations to come. Martin Luther
propelled himself into his work and was not afraid of voicing his often strong opinion of the
Catholic Church. Luther s Ninety Five Theses provides readers his opinion of the church, calling
out failures, and known corruption of leaders within.
Foundation
Martin Luther was born on November 10th, 1483 in Eisleben, Germany. He was the son of Hans
and Margareth Luder. His father worked in a copper mine, and through years of hard work they
became fruitful. Through his own personal struggles Hans Luder did not want the same life for
beloved Martin. Education and faith played a huge role during Luther s adolescent years as he
learned Latin and law and continue to excel in these areas well into his adulthood. This
development would continue to shape Luther s beliefs and principles. In the early 1500s, Luther
was able to continue his studies near Erfurt.

We Are All Federalists All Republicans Summary
In the writings; We Are All Federalists, All Republicans , Max Lerner discusses that Thomas
Jefferson was one of the first presidents to have to deal with party politics. The opposing sides
were the Federalists and Republicans. The article also discusses other presidents and how they
reacted to political parties. The article especially talks about Thomas Jeffersons life and what was
happening in the country. Before Jefferson became the president, a heated confrontation
between the Federalist Party and Republican Party developed, so everyone expected that
Jefferson criticized and denied the federalist s policy. However, he did not attack the Federalist,
but rather praised that both parties could express their opinion freely even though it was bit
aggressive. This approval of the opponent would be one of strategies to calm them down. In his
inaugural address he says, We are all Federalists, we are all Republicans. Some people would say
that Jefferson made a bad decision to unite both sides, but it really was a good idea because a

Taking a Look at the Empire of Japan
Japan was ultimately beneficial over its time span of its existence because of its many advances
and benefits to the people who were a part of the empire. Though there were negative and harmful
aspects of its rule, the good of the empire outweighed the bad. The Japanese were among the last to
develop a complex society and completely isolated itself from outside influence. An era occurred
where they began to borrow many things from China. They adopted their writing and imitated their
literature. By the late 1800s, however, an imperial restoration occurred with Commander Perry in
charge . In order to stop westernization in Japan, the country adopted western culture. The Empire
of Japanemerged and was more reformed than ever. By rapidly expanding under the slogan Fukoku
KyЕЌhei ( Enrich the Country, Strengthen the Army ), Japan began its journey to beginning a
world power. Japan began to seek profits overseas increasing their exposure to the outside world
and their cultures. With all of these advancements, the overall success and benefit to its people of
the empire of Imperial Japan came from its militarization.
The Japanese s foundation of strength and character relied on an ever present honor system. This
character not only went into their everyday lives but also their military. The Empire of Japan s

The Importance Of Individual Achievement Tests
one in clinical or school settings. Group achievement tests might also be considered as educational
achievement tests, since these instruments are apparently employed in academic settings. On the
other hand, individual achievement tests may be an important measurement tool in the diagnosis of
learning disability. Not only do these tests render documentation of impaired scholastic
performance in crucial areas as reading, writing, and numerical ability, some achievement tests can
aid in identifying certain skill deficits relative to learningdisabilities. In an ideal manner, individual
achievement tests should be used in conjunction with other measurement tools, especially
intelligencetests. According to Aiken (2003b), any test of ability (general intelligence, special
abilities, achievement) actually assesses what people have achieved. Specifically, the items on
intelligence and special abilities tests require test takers to manifest some accomplishment, just like
those on achievement tests. Educational achievement tests often serve as reliable predictors of
school marks compared to tests of intelligence and special abilities, but still cannot completely
replace them. It is notable to mention that the individual s attainment measured by general
intelligence tests are indeed broader and the products of less formal and usually less recent learning
experiences compared to the ones measured by standardized achievement tests (Aiken, 2003c).

Wayne Gretzky skates down the ice with the puck, he fakes a shot, the goalie falls for it,
Gretzky shoots, he scores! This is a common occurrence for Wayne Gretzky, a former NHL
player who holds the record for most career regular season goals (894), assists (1,963), points
(2,857), and hat tricks (50). Most people would say Gretzky s success all stems from his innate
talent, but in The Matthew Effect, Gladwell argues that innate talent is not the only reason for
success. He reveals there s a much more surprising reason. In Gladwell s chapter, The Matthew
Effect, the controversial writer expertly asks rhetorical questions and uses charts and statistics to
defend his claim that a person s date of birth has a significant influence on their athletic and
academic success. The rhetorical question is a simple yet... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without these two strategies, Gladwell would have failed to draw attention and transition from
section to section, or build up to and eventually defend his claim with any undeniable facts.
Statistics and rhetorical questions do not only apply to arguments about success, but they are
also rhetorical mediums that can be and are used in a variety of ways. Rhetorical questions can
be seen on posters, in ads, and in any strong paper. How s that for applicability? Statistics are
most commonly found in visual advertisements and websites. They use evidence that cannot be
discredited to credit any possible argument. The reason these two strategies work so well
together is that questioning adheres to the visceral and emotional side of an audience, while cold,
hard numbers build credibility and respect to logic and reasoning. This results in a powerful one
two punch that left many Gladwell readers wondering if they missed the chance to be great
because of something as simple as a set of numbers and slashes on a

A Research Study On Using A Computer Program
Personalized questions will allow the survey to get clear answers from willing participants. By
giving people the option to participate and requiring them to adhere to the privacy policy all
participants will be more open to the line of questioning (Cobbey, 2017). The screening criteria of
the survey will dwindle town the sample frame and separate each sample unit from the population

Since the open ended questions in the WTAP News questionnaire can have an infinite number of
answer, identifying similarities is the goal. Coding provides identification for specific themes in
the data. Individual responses will be listed then consolidated into exclusive numeric codes for
each specific category. Each code will illustrate each possible outcome by categorizing answers
through similarities. Data entry for closed ended questions will be simpler, because only three of
the questions were open ended. Most patterns can be realized through the closed ended questions.
Time can be saved and biased can be removed by analyzing each individual response and
categorizing them by identifying patterns and giving them codes. Open ended questions can be
coded and filtered to be analyzed as well through similarities. Coding is important, because results
can be more easily checked through subgroups than individual answers per respondent.
Once codes are set, the next step is to enter the numeric codes. Individual responses should be
consolidated into the numeric codes in order to make the results easier to analyze. The codes would
be entered into a computer and then analyzed by a data entry operator. Intelligent data entry is a
popular method used to analyze patterns. Skip patterns, invalid codes, or violations can be
identified through this process. Through this

Essay about Company of Wolves-Little Red Riding Hood
Little Red Riding Hood
The Company of Wolves by Angela Carter is very similar to Little Red Riding Hood , the little
girl heading out with a basket full of liquor and goodies for her grandmother. The wolf stopping
her on her way to the grandmother s house; the wolf races to the house, eats the grandma, pretends
to be the grandma and makes Little Red Riding Hood believe that he is her grandma. He pounces
on her and tries to eat her but a hunter comes and kills the wolf and saves the grandma. The story
reveals an extensive imagination by elaborating on different ideas and points of view of gender
roles. Carter s characters portray these roles very similar to the way we view gender roles today.

We could assume that every wolf was once a man. At the beginning Carter explains how wolves
are carnivore incarnate and he s cunning and ferocious , but yet she also explains how
melancholy a wolf can be because the beasts would love to be less beastly if only they knew how
(110, 112). Everyone seems to be afraid of these wolves fear and flee the wolf; for, worst of all,
the wolf may be more then he seems which could mean that the wolf isn t necessarily after fresh
meat but that he just wants sex. The wolf only sees women as meat. It kind of reminds me of The
Wedding Singer where Glenn grades his women with the FDA system, for example if he thought a
woman was top of the line he would say that she was Grade A, top choice meat. At the end of the
story, the wolf seems to be put in his place by the girl because she doesn t fear him and when he
tries to frighten her with telling her he s going to eat her, she just laughs at him and rips off his
clothes. Many stereotypes have men portrayed as beasts that crave sexual encounters and as
creatures that only think about sex which Carter seems to do with the wolves. Women are seen as
innocent and virtuous individuals that are only spoiled by men.

Goals Of Utopia
Utopia
I. Goals values Each citizen of Utopia should value total and complete equality above all else. Total
and complete equality encompasses social matters and governmental matters; no individual is
above another in any capacity. This also applies to dealings with the structure of government: the
needs of the individual are equal to the needs of the government because the government is the
people. This is achieved through the elimination of social hierarchy. Man cannot think of himself as
better than his peers if they are equal parts of a whole. The goal of the utopia is to provide for the
community, thus keeping it sustainable. Everyone works not out of personal benefit, but out of
benefit for the community which will strengthen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
III. Power politics The works of Karl Marx are a crucial part of the foundation of the utopia, as
they outline the overt flaws in a capitalist system and define the economic plan of the utopia.
Although not inherently communistic in every aspect, the dominant political ideology of the
utopia is libertarian socialism. Under libertarian socialism, the citizens can reach their full
potential while remaining under the care of the government for systems such as healthcare and
education. By being allowed to the same opportunities as everyone else from birth, the concept of
equality of opportunity is instilled in each person and is further cemented into the foundations of
each individual as they age. Eventually, they will come to see themselves and others as complete
equals, which will give them a better understanding of their environment and will make for better
choices. The utopia will have a horizontal structure of government and direct participation in
creating legislature is voluntary, however everyone over the age of 19 must vote. All legislation is
subject to a vote by the whole public every three months. For proposed laws, projects or any
decisions made by the government to become enforced legislation, they must be voted on at the end
of every three months, creating four quarters in the year. These

Enormous personal fortunes were created and the aristocracy turned their attention to the

Eskimo Mothers Campaign Analysis
In order to solidify the First Nations place as designated outsiders in their own homeland (8) the
press had to show how Indigenous people become the other when compared to the white settlers of
Canada. In comparison to the white setters presumed racial superiority, the media would use
headlines and stories that evoked images of Indians as dependent children. One specific instance of
this is the federal government s poster campaign to instruct the Eskimo mothers about how to use
their newly awarded family allowance funds by the Department of National Health and Welfare
(148). This campaign created a standard that, despite being mothers and raising children in this land

During the Louis Riel 1885 North West Resistance, the press used their influence to shape the
narrative as an event fated to occur because, as the Gazette reported, it was inevitable that the
red skins would become the reckless, murderous devils which nature has made them in their
native conditions... [and] sooner or later it was inevitable that the red skins would make an
effort to regain control of the country, massacre and pillage the settlers (67). This description
paints a picture of First Nations as unable to escape an almost animalistic urge to kill and destroy
that is engrained in their very sense of self. In the press coverage of the 1885 Resistance, we can
also see the close ties between the use of the savage stereotype and the childlike Indian. Although
the press called for Riel to hang for his crimes against Canada, the Metis were described as the
poor misguided half breeds whom Riel swindled and bullied (67) which portrays them as lacking
the ability to stand up for themselves and the maturity to resist

According To Marx, Society Is Primarily Divided On Those
According to Marx, society is primarily divided on those who own property, For Marx, he
believes that there are only two primary groups in society and these classes are the bourgeoisies
and the proletariats whose social relationship is the motivational force for change in capitalism. But
before humans can do anything, they must satisfy certain their basic needs, they must feed, clothe
and house themselves though productive labor, as it is the This approach is called by Marx, the
Materialist Conception of History. Because humans produce their own means of life, the only
available means would determine their level of existence, as the productive forces of society

With everything bought and sold at its value, with the capitalists pocketing the surplus value made
from the labor of the proletariats.
Now Marx isn t saying that all components of capitalism are bad, it s just that the capitalist class
must exploit the proletariats to remain on top of the hierarchy. They must continue to exploit to
build their wealth at their best interest, as their class division entails them to continuously do to
continue the wealth bloodline
In this context, Marx realizes that the productive forces in a society develop faster than production
relations, and they may also conflict with each other. Formally breaking down what consisted of the
hierarchy structure that depersonalized many, in which freedom was limited because one s social

replacing the old socio economical production relation with a new one. According to Marx, there
are five socio economic formations. They were primitive communal, slave owning, feudal, capitalist
and communist . Marx claims that each class conflict between each production has ultimately
reached their final stage of revolution after transitioning from one socio economic format to
another. This underlined the progressive character changes of the social development scheme. With
Marx believing that the changes made in society would correspond to the mode of production in
society by replacing the exploitative mode of

Fleur And Lily Quotes
Fleur Versus Lily: The Greatest Game Ever Played Louise Erdrich s Fleur examines sexism
through a folk tale lens. Throughout the story, Fleur, the mysterious and aloof protagonist,
possesses superhuman and animal powers she is revived copious times and viciously avenges
men who have slighted her. Gossip surrounds the supernatural Fleur; Chippewa and American
men and women alike are mystified and intimidated by her. The selected passage is no different.
It serves to introduce and foreshadow the later tension between Fleur and her male boss and co
workers. The passage also reveals insight into the characters Fleur and Lily; symbolism, diction,
and the allotment of animal traits to the characters enforce Fleur as a superior, enigmatic
character, and Lily as an inferior, simple character. Fleur s and Lily s characterization and actions
in the selected passage echo the transformation of classic male female interaction in Erdrich s
Fleur . Before the selected passage, there are several instances in which Fleur is pitted against
various men, and ultimately (though in bizzare ways), Fleur prevails. Immediately prior to the
passage, the narrator describes the tedium of the town of Argus, and of the male laborer s

The Causes And Effects Of The Naxal Movement In India
Asia has been known to be a continent that has been colonized by many Western countries. Asia
has been through many experiences following the colonization of those Western countries. These
experiences both include the good and the bad side of being colonized, namely the many
different influences like cultures, ideologies, and many other things shared to us by the Western
people, but the bad side of being colonized will not be forgotten. Asia has experienced a lot of
violence and undergone being oppressed by the Western people, but violence in Asia isn t only

The problem has been in the
Indian state s perception of the causes of the Naxal movement. The Naxalites control territory
throughout Bihar, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh states and claim to be supported by the poorest
of the rural population, especially the Adivasis. The Naxalites have frequently targeted tribal,
police and government workers in what they say is a fight for improved land rights and more
jobs for neglected agricultural labourers and the poor. The Naxalites claim that they are
following a strategy of rural rebellion similar to a protracted people s war against the

Genetic Determinants Of Hiv Infection
Genetic determinants of HIV infection:
HIV has two major types: HIV 1 and HIV 2. HIV 1 has four groups M, N, O and P. These groups
are further classified into subtypes. Group M is a major infecting group worldwide contributing
to 90% of HIV 1 infections. Group M is classified into nine subtypes (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J and
K). Subtype B is predominantly found in America and Western Europe. The susceptibility to HIV1
infection, transmission of disease, and response to retroviral therapy depend on the genetic
determinants of the host cell. These genetic determinants vary in populations and among patients.
These genetic variants regulate chemokine co receptors and ligands that involve in the entry of
the virus, major histocompatibility complex, killer cells Ig like receptor and cytokines, and
TRIM5О± motif and apolipoprotein B mRNA editing enzyme, catalytic polypeptide like 3G
(Kaur and Mehra, 2009). In genome wide association studies performed in European population, it
was shown that Human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class I variation (Eg. HLA B*5701) is the
major contributor to viral set point and CD4+ T cell decline (Fellay et al., 2010). Cohort study of
genetic polymorphism in chemokine receptors in Indian population has shown that protective
CCR5 О”32 variant is rare and CCR5HHE carrying *59402A has the high likelihood of infections
(Kaur and Mehra, 2009). HIV Sequence Database contains annotated HIV sequences

I Am Proud At The University Of Wisconsin- Madison Essay
As I stand before you today, I am honored to not only be your Senator, but a proud alumnus of
this University. It was nearly 20 years ago from today that I was in your shoes as a freshman
starting his journey at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Before coming to Madison, I had lived
my entire life in southern Louisiana. My early formative years were passed in New Orleans, where
I was born, before a move upstate Louisiana at the age of seven. It was a month before my
turning of this age that proved to be one of the most arduous weeks of my life. I remember the
pain quite vividly and am not sure how I persevered at such a young age. At the beginning of that
week, my mother stormed into the house sweating and with a frantic look on her face. In a
startled tone that I was not used to, she alerted that we had to go because there was a storm
coming. I grabbed my blanket, as many bags of goldfish that I could carry, and some clothes and
shoved it all in my backpack. While quickly walking to the car, I asked my mother in an out of
breath tone, where we were going and she replied to the stadium, hun. I couldn t believe it, I was
so excited to be going to the Superdome. I remember always wanting to go to a game there with
my father to watch our favorite team, the New Orleans Saints. When rushing out of the house and
being buckled into my booster seat, I did not realize that I was leaving my house for last time. I
remember arriving at the Superdome that Sunday morning and

The And The War For America
Often when we speak of the struggle for America we think of the Revolutionary War, or even of
the Civil War. We reminisce of tales of bravado and of cunning, of George Washington and our
country s forefathers leading the revolution against the British and of pursuing the dream of a
nation free from tyranny. But often the tyranny that this new nation itself took part in is largely
glossed over. It is largely accepted that America unfairly pushed out the Native Americans from
their homelands, but the means in which they did so was crueler than the British tyranny that we

from Europe and as such has no roots or historical attachment to the land. They only viewed it in

did have a historical attachment to the land. But it was much more than that. The Shawnees, as
well as several other Indian tribes, believed that the land they existed on was an island. They
believed that it was placed there by the Great Spirit and that the Shawnees were a chosen people.
They believed that the Great Spirit recreated the world following a flood and chose the Shawnee
people as the first people to reintroduce to the world, to this piece of land (Calloway 34). So, the

One of these differences is in Phaethon written by Evslin, Evslin, and Hoopes tells about how
Epaphus and Phaethon argue that Phaethon s father Apollo, had taught him to drive his sun

Phaethon is lying, so he tells Phaethon to prove it. Phaethon says You ll know me. When I pass
the village I will come close and drive in circles around your roof. You ll see me alright. Farewell.
In the other version, Phaethon by Moira Kerr and John Bennett, the boys do not make a bet.
Instead, the story begins by saying Phaethon, whose father was the sun god, Apollo, was taunted
about his parentage by Epaphus, a youth of the same age whose father was the mighty Zeus. In this
version of the story, Epaphus insults Apollo in front of Phaethon, and he becomes determined to

The socioconstructivist view of reading is how the role of social experiences and culture effect our
learning and development of knowledge. During shared reading, students are able to learn
literacy through active engagement. Based on my classroom experience, shared reading is an
effective classroom tool. Students in my classroom participate in turn and talk. This strategy
allows all students to process new learning while engaging in meaningful conversation with a
classmate. Students are also learning from their classmates responses through group
discussions. The teacher s role is to scaffold students learning by facilitating in active speaking
and listening skills. Students begin to learn that stories are meaningful. Readers make sense of
what they read by using their set of prior knowledge. Constructivists believe that reading is a
meaning making process that requires the use of schema, cognitive process, and metacognition.
There can also be more than one interpretation of a text and that it depends upon a reader s
culture (Anderson, 2013, p. 478). Therefore, the reader s schema plays a major role in learning
and remembering information. In a classroom setting, there are a range of cultures so it is
important to help students activate relevant knowledge before reading. Before reading, I usually
ask my student to first look at the illustrations on the front and back cover of the book and make
predictions or inferences of what they think they story will be about. We also go on a picture
walk before reading. I ask several questions or wonderings during reading, and then afterwards I
allow them time to make connections. Many of my students do not know how to activate their

The last movie is the novel adaptation, Hunger Games series came to a close on November 17,
2015. The final film in the series, Mockingjay Part 2, follows the same strategy as another young

This sci fi, adventure is violent. Scenes of blood oozing out of actors and actresses earned the PG

The movie seemed timely as United States presidential candidates are dropping one by one in what

The film s plot started off with a cliff hanger from Mockingjay Part 2. Immediately, the viewer

The Appropriate Court For This Lawsuit
The appropriate court for this lawsuit depends upon several factors. Three important considerations
include the following: Personal jurisdiction which allows courts to have jurisdiction over both the
plaintiff and defendant in a case. Specific to corporations, personal jurisdiction only applies in the
state in which the company does business, is incorporated and has it principle office. In Margolin s
suit, personal jurisdictionwould not apply because although the company does business in the state
of New York, both Novelty Now and Funny Faces are not incorporated or have principle offices in
this state.
Subject matter jurisdiction allows a court the authority to only hear case that are in regards to a
specific topic. Although restrictive in its ability to hear cases based on the topic, subject matter
jurisdiction can specialize in a specific case type. Courts such as tax, federal claims and bankruptcy
are examples courts which have subject matter jurisdiction.
In reference to the case study, subject matter jurisdiction could possibly apply. Since Margolin
suit claims negligence on the parts of Novelty Now and Funny Faces for using PYR in their
product the case could be heard in a federal claims court. The violation of FDA regulations makes
the case a stronger candidate for this type of venue.

within these two plays that depict deception and trickery as merely harmless and even beneficial. In
some cases the characters are thoroughly masked in their lies; for ill or well, they are hiding who
they truly are. In other cases, the person they attempt to hide is merely obscured, the masks being
only a slight deterrent from their real personalities. Sometimes they are harmless diversions;
sometimes they are even beneficial tools to be utilized for one s ... Show more content on

She professes to scorn romance in general, but her romantic side is revealed, not only when she
confesses her previous love for Benedick (278 282), but in her constant support of Hero s romantic
attraction to Claudio at the start of the play most notably in this scene when she encourages Hero
to kiss her knew fiancГ©. Despite her earlier depiction, she is clearly hiding a more tender, even
conventional side than is often assumed.
Benedick is himself much like Beatrice. As she professes to scorn men and marriage, he does
likewise with women. As she seems to mock and reject the common custom, so he does as well.
For her every condemnation of men as undeserving of women, he has a parallel condemnation for
women. He seems to be the masculine mirror of her, hiding a similarly dualistic character whose
romantic side and attention to convention will become apparent once he is told that Beatrice loves
him. Then he will spend his time musing on her perfection wise as she is but for loving [him] and
undeniably fair and virtuous and writing her poetry he cannot manage to rhyme. This

Case Study Of UBER
1.I see following situations in case of UBER:
a.Competing in emerging industries: UBER has entered lots of emerging markets recently to
compete against existing ride sharing companies. There is enormous trend of shared transport
not only in developed countries like the US, but also in emerging economies where the GDP per
capita is below $12000. Ride sharing is emerging in many countries like Chile, South Africa,
India, Thailand and so on. Ordering rides through application rather than call. And rides offered
by drivers using their private cars is emerging concept in many nations. UBER is using price cuts
to attract the next layer of price sensitive customers, also it is bundling the prices with UBEREATS
to lower the price. As a result of being in emerging industry, UBER is pursuing new customer
groups by entering into new geographical areas.
b.Companies in Industry leadership positions: UBER has been leader of ride sharing industry for
10 years. Its market share may have dropped from 93% in 2014 to 74% in 2017 due to
competing companies like Lyft, Curb, Gett and taxis, UBER is still the leader in its industry. The
competitive position of UBER is powerful and the new CEO Dara Khosrowshahi s main strategy is

Companies in Industry leadership positions: I think UBER is using STAY on the offensive
strategy to defend its position as industry leader. UBER is using its cutting edge technology to
eliminate transaction costs and increase employment rate in cities. UBER skips many licensing
system to contract employee directly and the driver also have a degree of freedom and need not
worry about the costs associated with employment. UBER is focused more on growth rather than
profitability, so UBER is trying to enter logistics market along with transportation. Logistics is a
very large market adjacent to UBER s transportation. UBER currently operates UBERFreight in the
logistics market. SO, UBER is working on the offense by investing in logistics in

Pros And Cons Of Senior Care Texas And Companionship
Senior Care Texas and Companionship
As we age, there are many positive events that happen in our lives. We get to witness the marriage
of our children, the birth of our grandchildren or great grandchildren, and hopefully enjoy the fruits
of our labor during retirement. There are some negative parts to aging as well. Friends and family
pass on or move away, the excitement of the workforce is replaced with endless numbers of
unscheduled days, and even your closest allies, such as a spouse, may move on in divorce or death.
The result of these changes, despite the many positives, is loneliness.
According to studies by the University of California at San Francisco, nearly half of seniors report
having regular feelings of loneliness. Surprisingly, half of those seniors ... Show more content on

The University of Rochester Medical Center found that social interaction is important for health,
and loneliness leads to medical problems. One study found fewer colds, lower blood pressure, and
lower heart rates in seniors with strong social ties. Statistics show that marriage, perhaps the
strongest tie, adds years to life expectancy. And suicide, mental illness and alcoholism rates are
much lower when people feel a sense of belonging.
Studies at UC San Francisco support the Rochester findings. They found that seniors over 60
who experience prolonged bouts of loneliness have a 45 percent increase in their risk of death.
They were also nearly 60 percent more likely to have mental and physical problems develop as a
result of the loneliness.
Supporting the idea that more people does not necessarily resolve loneliness, Dr. T. Byram
Karasu Albert Einstein College of Medicine s chair of psychiatry and behavioral sciences found
that Even when they re being taken care of by family caregivers, there is often little attention paid
to deep, engaging communication between a senior and the rest of the family. The result is a
feeling of being pushed aside and chronic

Jimmy Valentine In A Retrieved Reformation
A tree affected by the Emerald Ash Borer often looks unsuspecting and unmarred; only when you
peel back the bark from the infested ash, do you see the damaged inside. Jimmy Valentine, also
known as Ralph Spencer, was the metaphorical rotting ash tree in the story A Retrieved
Reformation by O. Henry. Jimmy was a con man, pardoned by the Governor. After Valentine got
out of the slammer, he continued his way of life before jail, manipulating and cracking bank
vaults. That is, until he met Annabel Adams. Jimmy had appeared to have changed for her under
the persona of Ralph Spencer and, for once, he made an honest living as a shoe shop owner in the
small town of Elmore, Arkansas. But, as with the ash tree, not all was as it seemed. Annabel s father

Henry purposely included symbolism into A Retrieved Reformation in the form of Jimmy s
suitcase of burglary tools. The suitcase symbolizes Ralph Spencer s past as Jimmy Valentine.
Carrying it around with him and refusing to throw it out, Ralph was remembering the glories of
his past life, holding on to it because he didn t want to let it go. Eventually, even if at one point
he had changed, he would have given in to his temptation of getting back into his glory days.
Jimmy ...opened this [his suitcase] and gazed fondly at the finest set of burglar s tools in the
East. (Henry 2). Jimmy would not have given up this life of crime and manipulation for
anything; even if he had to change his name and pretend to love someone he had no interest in.
The pride he felt while his looked at those instruments of destruction went unequalled to the love
Annabel could give him with the tools the clear winner. Not only does the suitcase symbolize
how Jimmy/Ralph was an infested ash tree, but the man was using them too. Jimmy Valentine
and his suit case climbed out of the mail hack... (Henry 2). If Jimmy continued his cons after jail,
what says he wouldn t after he found the love of his life ? Like the rotting ash tree he was, Jimmy
was perfect on the outside, but in the core, who he really was, was always the

Informative Essay On Geishas
Geisha are customary Japanese entertainers, sometimes acting as hosts or performers for their
customers. When people think of geishas, the image of a young Japanese woman with a face
caked in a white paste, with lips lined in bright red, clad in an extravagant kimono comes to
mind. However, the earliest geishas were actually men in the 18th century, who worked as
entertainers, singing and dancing. By the late 1700s, the career was mostly dominated by women.
Geishas are regarded as cultural icons of Japan. Before World War II, many young girls had no
choice in their decision of becoming geishas. Their parents usually sold them to an okiya, (where
geisha lived) at a young age in hope of a better future for their daughters than the one they... Show

blood was painted over the pallid, spotless canvas, contrasting against her face s white complexion
(Golden 63). The geisha s impassive white mask shows little emotion, and her strict code of silence
and fierce protectiveness towards clients conspire against revelation (Cobb

The Issue Of Immigration Policy
On the topic of immigration, Donald Trump has stated, But you have people coming in and I m not
just saying Mexicans, I m talking about people that are from all over that are killers and rapists and
they re coming into this country. On the same issue, Hillary Clinton has said the following: I ve
talked about undocumented immigrants hundreds of times and fought for years for comprehensive
immigration reform... We are a country built by immigrants and our diversity makes us stronger as
a nation it s something to be proud of, celebrate, and defend. As shown through the radically
different perspectives highlighted in the aforementioned passages, the topic of immigration policy
has quickly become the most prominent discussion of the upcoming election. How then do we
evaluate the immigration policies proposed by the likely Presidential nominees, Donald Trump and
Hillary Clinton, given our country s founding principles? The answer to this question lies in the
Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Our nation s legal documents should be used to
evaluate their immigration views because they are the basis of our country and the values America
embodies. Given America s founding principles of equality, freedom and equal protection under the
law as stated in our country s Declaration of Independence and Constitution, extreme protectionist
immigration laws contradict our nation s founding principles. In comparison to Donald Trump s
overt and impractical anti immigrant

On August 31, 1939, SS soldiers dress as fake Polish soldiers and fire at the German soldiers right
outside of Poland. The next day, Hitler declares that Poland troops fired at the SS by Poland and
he orders an invasion. England and France declare war on Nazi controlled Germany to protect their
allies, Poland. Helmuth hears of this news and is disgusted, but what saddens him even more is
when his eldest brother, Gerhard Kunkel is drafted to the reich labor service for six months.
Germany is striking Poland with a new technique they call Blitzkrieg, which is a way to win a
war by breaking through ones defense by striking short, fast and powerful attacks. It eventually
breaks through their defense and allows you to take dislocate the inside of the country and the
rest of the troops in them. They refer to it as the lightning war because of how fast the Nazi s
could move in and take a country by using the Blitzkrieg. After Hitler captures Poland, he makes a

It follows the story of Sig Mickelson played by Jeff Daniels. A newscaster who is set in his values, exposing corruption, and keeping the government in line. In a time when America was having a communist red scare. This film did transitions amazingly every time a there was a major change in the plot. The audience hears a female singing in a film with almost no music at all. This really help the audience see that some major change is happening. And on the topic of transitions/ camera work. Dissimilar to a lot of the mass market/ big budget films. Overall Good Night, and Good Luck was a great film by George Clooney. It shows film makers how to use color or lack of, angles, and transitions. In intrinsic pathway after cell ECM detachment, BH3 only proteins (Bim and Bid) stimulate Bax and Bak pro apoptotic proteins oligomerization and pore creation in mitochondrial outer membrane. Because of these pores, cytochrome C and SMAC/DIABLO proteins will be release from mitochondria into the cytosol. • 7. Literary Interpretation In Kich By Carolyn Kizer s Bitch Carolyn Kizer s Bitch is describing the unnamed woman s feelings towards an ex lover from an unspecified time in the past, which she has just encountered. The woman was extremely hurt by the ex and has a lot of anger deep inside towards this person, but does not want to demonstrate it. The main image is the speaker and the ex lover running into one another and catching up. Now, when he and I meet, after all these years, I say to the bitch in me, don t start growling. (Kizer 1,2). The tone of the poem is angry, sad, and reflects a relationship where she was hurt and misses the other person. The woman tries to control her inner feelings when she encounters the man, concealing her true feelings with polite conversation. Just by the tone of her inner feelings, you can see the woman thinks the man from her past caused her harm. The woman of Carolyn Kizer s Bitch provides a satiric interpretation of a typical meeting between her and an ex lover since the end of their relationship. In a single, thirty four line stanza, the woman participates in a witty monologue that displays a ideally ironic division: the woman s two coinciding but opposite interchanges, one entailing of the woman s external conversation with her former lover and the other of silent warnings, threats, and clarifications to her inner self, represented in the poem as a bitch. The speaker is camouflaging compelling emotions with external civility. While the hiding of true feelings is an everyday ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Book I of the republic contains a critical examination of the nature and virtue of justice. Socrates engages in a dialectic with Thrasymachus, Polemarchus, and Cephalus, a method which leads to the asking and answering of questions which directs to a logical refutation and thus leading to a convincing argument of the true nature of justice. And that is the main function of Book I, to clear the ground of mistaken or inadequate accounts of justice in order to make room for the new theory. Socrates attempts to show that certain beliefs and attitudes of justice and its nature are inadequate or inconsistent, and present a way in which those... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... br br Cephalus argues that finding old age as a good thing will depend on whether you have the disposition of those who have order and peace with themselves . And he identifies this disposition with the inclination not to tell lies or deceive and the willingness to fulfill obligations to gods and men. He believes that a life which manifests these disposition is the life of a just person, of a person conscious of having lived free from injustice . It is unclear whether Cephalus takes it that being conscious of having lived free from injustices is simply that one has not cheated or told lies and having fulfilled the obligations to gods and man. Because of the living of a just life is merely to follow these guidelines then it is not implied if these virtues are attributed to a specific personality, or of an orderly and peaceful character. If his argument is not correctly linked then there is no reason to correlate living justly with the possession of a certain character; the just character. • 10. John Keegan s The Face Of Battle John Keegan s The Face of Battle and Sir Charles Oman s The Art of War in the Middle Ages provide insight into how historians approach the subject of battle. When discussing warfare, historians typically approach the subject from a procedural point of view, but it has also become normal to focus on combatants experiences. By cross comparing Keegan and Oman s descriptions of the Battleof Agincourt, it is apparent that both the procedural method and the method of focusing on individuals have merit. However, Keegan and Oman s alternate depictions of the battle demonstrate how combining both perspectives give a more complete understanding of the past. Historical writings have evolved from procedural accounts of events to inquisitive reflections on combatants. Focusing on weapons, strategies and generals perspectives the procedural approach quickly provides in depth information, but often in a distorted way 1. It is important to remember a commander s actions and the events of their battles are often exaggerated to support current political goals . Alternately, a slightly more encompassing approach to warfare considers the conflict s decisiveness in addition to the battle s statistics and facts 1. That is to say, what influence did the battle have on future events and how were people s lives changed by it. Beyond these procedural approaches, modern historians now use a more inquisitive method that combines personal experiences and facts. This more inclusive method allows ... • 11. The Giving Tree By Shel Silverstein The Joy of Giving The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein is a great story about morals and life lessons. The thought is we should give without expecting anything in return, and what will return to us is happiness. The Giving Tree illustrates both the difficulty as well as the reward of unconditional love and giving. The Giving Treebegins with a boy who befriends a tree. Each day the boy would come to the tree and play with her leaves and climb her branches. When he would get tired he would take a nap in the shade of the tree; and the tree was happy (Silverstein). However, as time went on and the boy got older, he had less frequent trips to visit the tree. Time went on and the boy returned. The tree wanted the boy to play on her... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this point, the story seemed to come full circle as the boy had returned to rest where he had begun. He had lived his life and even after he had taken all the tree had, she was still happy he was there. This showed the unconditional love she had for him, even when he gave little in return. The Giving Tree also shows a bit of selfishness. The boy seemed to be more interested in material possessions instead of the tree s feelings. It could also argue the point that humans need to have respect for the environment instead of taking advantage of the resources it provides. Eventually, if humans take everything, there will be nothing left to give like the story suggests. We can relate The Giving Tree to parents and their children. A parent would do almost anything to help and care for their child. They also want to be involved in their child s life as they grow older. As we grow older, we can forget where we come from and who helped us get where we are. We begin to miss that peace of mind as time goes on, and we return to our roots to rest and catch up with our loved ones. Rhetorical Analysis Of Barack Obama s State Of The Union In his State of the Union Address for 2016, Barack Obama uses logical and ethical arguments to emphasize shared ground rather than partisan disputes. By using humor and irony, Obama paints his opponents into corners, out of which it would require outrageous extremism to effectively squirm away. At its best, this approach demonstrates how much Americans actually have in common in a culture dominated by ideologically polarized cable news channels, Facebook, and cultural tribes that increasingly live and socialize apart from one another. Martin Luther And The Reformation Thesis Statement The purpose of my paper will reflect the life of Martin Luther during the Reformation period and the changes brought forth as a result of his teachings and writings. Luther s findings not only transformed his own actions, but change the thought process of millions. The study of Martin Luther is the key that unlocks the background of the Protestant Reformation and it s origins. Introduction Research on Martin Luther was chosen to demonstrate the importance of his works, and decisions that not only fueled his purpose, but changed the church for generations to come. Martin Luther propelled himself into his work and was not afraid of voicing his often strong opinion of the Catholic Church. Luther s Ninety Five Theses provides readers his opinion of the church, calling out failures, and known corruption of leaders within. Foundation Martin Luther was born on November 10th, 1483 in Eisleben, Germany. He was the son of Hans and Margareth Luder. His father worked in a copper mine, and through years of hard work they became fruitful. Through his own personal struggles Hans Luder did not want the same life for beloved Martin. Education and faith played a huge role during Luther s adolescent years as he learned Latin and law and continue to excel in these areas well into his adulthood. This development would continue to shape Luther s beliefs and principles. In the early 1500s, Luther was able to continue his studies near Erfurt. At the young age of eighteen ... The article especially talks about Thomas Jeffersons life and what was happening in the country. Before Jefferson became the president, a heated confrontation between the Federalist Party and Republican Party developed, so everyone expected that Jefferson criticized and denied the federalist s policy. However, he did not attack the Federalist, but rather praised that both parties could express their opinion freely even though it was bit aggressive. This approval of the opponent would be one of strategies to calm them down. In his inaugural address he says, We are all Federalists, we are all Republicans. Not only do these tests render documentation of impaired scholastic performance in crucial areas as reading, writing, and numerical ability, some achievement tests can aid in identifying certain skill deficits relative to learningdisabilities. In an ideal manner, individual achievement tests should be used in conjunction with other measurement tools, especially intelligencetests. According to Aiken (2003b), any test of ability (general intelligence, special abilities, achievement) actually assesses what people have achieved. Specifically, the items on intelligence and special abilities tests require test takers to manifest some accomplishment, just like those on achievement tests. Educational achievement tests often serve as reliable predictors of school marks compared to tests of intelligence and special abilities, but still cannot completely replace them. It is notable to mention that the individual s attainment measured by general intelligence tests are indeed broader and the products of less formal and usually less recent learning experiences compared to the ones measured by standardized achievement tests (Aiken, 2003c). This is a common occurrence for Wayne Gretzky, a former NHL player who holds the record for most career regular season goals (894), assists (1,963), points (2,857), and hat tricks (50). Most people would say Gretzky s success all stems from his innate talent, but in The Matthew Effect, Gladwell argues that innate talent is not the only reason for success. He reveals there s a much more surprising reason. In Gladwell s chapter, The Matthew Effect, the controversial writer expertly asks rhetorical questions and uses charts and statistics to defend his claim that a person s date of birth has a significant influence on their athletic and academic success. Statistics and rhetorical questions do not only apply to arguments about success, but they are also rhetorical mediums that can be and are used in a variety of ways. Rhetorical questions can be seen on posters, in ads, and in any strong paper. How s that for applicability? Statistics are most commonly found in visual advertisements and websites. They use evidence that cannot be discredited to credit any possible argument. The reason these two strategies work so well together is that questioning adheres to the visceral and emotional side of an audience, while cold, hard numbers build credibility and respect to logic and reasoning. This results in a powerful one two punch that left many Gladwell readers wondering if they missed the chance to be great because of something as simple as a set of numbers and slashes on a ... Each code will illustrate each possible outcome by categorizing answers through similarities. Data entry for closed ended questions will be simpler, because only three of the questions were open ended. Most patterns can be realized through the closed ended questions. Time can be saved and biased can be removed by analyzing each individual response and categorizing them by identifying patterns and giving them codes. Open ended questions can be coded and filtered to be analyzed as well through similarities. Coding is important, because results can be more easily checked through subgroups than individual answers per respondent. Once codes are set, the next step is to enter the numeric codes. Individual responses should be consolidated into the numeric codes in order to make the results easier to analyze. The codes would be entered into a computer and then analyzed by a data entry operator. Intelligent data entry is a popular method used to analyze patterns. At the end of the story, the wolf seems to be put in his place by the girl because she doesn t fear him and when he tries to frighten her with telling her he s going to eat her, she just laughs at him and rips off his clothes. Many stereotypes have men portrayed as beasts that crave sexual encounters and as creatures that only think about sex which Carter seems to do with the wolves. Total and complete equality encompasses social matters and governmental matters; no individual is above another in any capacity. This is achieved through the elimination of social hierarchy. Man cannot think of himself as better than his peers if they are equal parts of a whole. One study found fewer colds, lower blood pressure, and lower heart rates in seniors with strong social ties. Statistics show that marriage, perhaps the strongest tie, adds years to life expectancy.
