Puritan Argumentative Essay
The Puritan settler s beliefs in the relationship between individuals, God, and the community during
the seventeenth century in New England created a sense of us (the Puritans) vs. them (the Native
Americans and non Puritan colonists), who hindered the idea of a city upon a hill, the perfect
Christian community. From John Winthrop s sermon warning the first settlers of New England
about the retributions God would bring to the community if individuals broke there covenant with
God (Winthrop 17 20). To the way, those same beliefs, brought over by the first Puritan
settlers,
affected the future interactions Puritans would have with Native Americans during the times of
declension, and their views towards them as seen in Mary Rowlandson s narrative.... Show more

Casper and Richard O. Davies Individuals could do nothing about their predestination: God s
grace alone, not good deeds, determined their fates (Casper and Davies, 17). This relationship
between God and the individual would affect the way Puritan colonists interpreted individual
success as a way of knowing their fate, which separated the rich from the poor, who would not be
saved (Winthrop, 18). This idea of individualism would help create the mentality of us vs them, as
seen in Mary Rowlandson s narrative where she views the behavior of the Native Americans as
savagery and describes them as heathens as lesser beings than herself (Rowlandson, 19). The idea
of individualism allows the Puritan colonists to view the Native American behaviors as uncivilized
compared to their own, which then they use to interpret their behaviors as favorable to God and the
behavior of the Native Americans as demonized or against God. Which then begins to create a view
of Native Americans as enemies that hinder the idea of a city upon a hill or a barrier in creating the
perfect Christian community. Which in turn creates the conflicts between the colonists and the
Native Americans as they attempt to convert them into Christianity as seen with the praying Indians
in Rowlandson s narrative

Microeconomics is defined as: The study of the operations of the components of a national
economy, such as individual firms, households, and consumers (www.answers .com accessed
02Oct07). This is a study of the relationship between the consumer and the supplier based on
various fluxuations in the market.
The Law of supply is defined as: A microeconomic law stating that, all other factors being equal, as
the price of a good or service increases, the quantity of goods or services offered by suppliers
increases and vice versa (www.answers .com accessed 02Oct07).
The law of demand is described as: A microeconomic law that states that, all other factors being
equal, as the price of a good or service increases, consumer demand for the good or service will
decrease and vice versa (www.answers .com accessed 02Oct07).
Supply and Demand: The market process is generally modeled using the economic concepts of
supply and demand. The plans/desires of consumers are embedded in the concept of demand and
the plans/desires of producers in the concept of supply. The plans of these two types of economic
actors are brought together in markets, which are the entities in which transactions occur. In a
modern economy, markets do not require that the buyers and sellers meet in a geographic place, so
markets no longer require actual marketplaces. ...

Pancreatic Cancer Research Paper
There are two kinds of pancreatic cancer. There is the endocrine tumors and the exocrine tumors.
Endocrine tumors are less common and they affect the islet cells of the pancreas. They tend to be
benign and not often become malignant. However the exocrine tumors are much more common
and this is what Gene is diagnosed with. Exocrine tumors are often called adenocarcinomas and that
means canceraffect the gland cells such as the ducts of the glands (American Cancer Society).
Pancreatic adenocarcinomas keep the glands from secreting normal The signs and symptoms of
pancreatic adenocarcinoma is darkening of the urine, irritated skin, jaundice, pain in the upper

The Law Why We Should or Shouldn t Obey
The Law The law has been around for centuries since the beginning of time. It was used as early
as the era before Jesus birth. Although ideas have changed over time, the law in general still
exist in today s society. The idea of law was intended for order and avoiding citizens from
revolting and rebelling against the government. People should obey the law because the law
creates a stable and safer society. There are many reasons why people obey the law People obey
the law because of religious values, fear of punishment, costs, and it protects the weak. Obey
Citizens can choose to obey the law because of religious beliefs. The law was strictly enforced in
the bible. The story of Jesus of the Nazareth death can be related to the use... Show more content on

Of course you will have the few people who think the law in general is just ignorant and doesn t
apply to them at all. These people disobey the law so that they can portray a certain imagine or
boost their reputation in society. In some cases, breaking the law can be fun while your in the
moment. For example running a stop because you re involved in a street race can feel risky but
overall the feeling of breaking the law and getting away with it is a fun experience. There is a
theory that the hot or attractive women like men who are in trouble with the law. Although this
is a myth, I have personally seen this in action before. Having the persona of a bad boy gives
men especially an advantage on women. To some women, men who break the law seem to be
tough and physically strong. Citizens also break the law when they don t agree with
government regulations. A perfect example is the era s of Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, Martin
Luther King Jr., etc. Parks specifically, refused to give her seat near the front of the bus for a
Caucasian male. The law in her state was any black or colored citizen had to give up their front
row seat if a white person got on the bus. Also if the bus was crowded with riders, blacks were
suppose to give up their seat regardless of its location to a white person. Rosa Parks decided to go
against the law at that time and not relinquish her seat to a white man. She was therefore thrown in
jail for going breaking the law. Parks went against

Jc Penny s New Image Summary
In the article JC Penny s New Image: Why the Re Branding Will be Successful, the author
focuses on how JC Penny is changing it s way of marketing. Former Apple employee Ron
Johnson, became the CEO of JC Penny, and had many ideas for how to rebrand the company. He
changed the way JC Penny promotes products, simplified the pricing, the presentation of the
company, the retail setting, and the personality of the store. Johnson reduced the number of
promotions a year from over 590 to 12. In addition, Johnson created a 3 tier pricing system. In this
system, the first tier is the everyday low price, the second tier is month long sale items, and the
third tier is the best price discount, which occurs on every first and third Friday of the month....

Also, the presentation will be minimalistic, using focused and simplified images and accented
colors in photographs to put the emphasis on the products. The retail setting, or the store itself,
had a makeover as well. The layout and organization changed. The services and now at the center
and the products are at the perimeter of a store, as well as the products being put into shops with
certain brand names in each shop . The personality will change, mostly because of the new
framed logo. With all of these changes, the quality will stay the same, if not even better, and
there will be an increase of over 100 new brands into the store. These changes are crucial to JC
Penny to keep the store in business. I have learned that if you do not change your business with
the times or fads, people will lose interest and you will slowly start to lose customers and money,
and eventually your whole business. Also, with the right changes, your business can last for a
long time and stay popular. Examples of this are Facebook, JC Penny, and Apple. This has also
taught a great lesson; to not be afraid of change. Changes can be good and helpful to you as a
person, to your job and business, and to your

The Republican Party And The Democratic Party Essay
The Republican Party has long relied on the support of older, white, conservatives. Regrettably,
they are a shrinking portion of the voting population. The problem that they face is a shrinking
voter base, mainly due to age. As their electorate shrinks, it is imperative for the party to appeal to
the more liberal younger generations for support. The Republican Partyneeds to look forward to
true reform. Above all, the party needs to abandon much of their social conservatismto appeal to
millennials interests to stay relevant on the national political scene.
David Frum offers four potential solutions for where the Republican party can go from here. He
himself believes that the first two considerations of doubling down on elite backed candidates or
tactical concession on immigration are unhelpful and too narrow respectively. Therefore, his most
confident considerations are in his third and fourth options. His fourth choice to keep the
Republican party relevant is, in his words, to change the rules of the game. (Frum 2016) Parties
are in favor of processes that help advance their (or limit the other party s) political and
ideological goals. Frum recognizes that outside of the presidential election, Republicans have done
quite well on down ballot elections. For this reason, they have the ability to exert considerably
more control over voting and election processes than Democrats. For example, having the ability to
gerrymander as well as change voter registration rules

The Emergence Of Italian Nationalism
The emergence of Italian nationalism began in the Renaissance Era and was then encouraged by
key Italian figures, leading to the unification of Italy which was overall beneficial for the country.
(mention benefits for Italy and how it is today)
Before unification, Italy was a collection of different independent states. The Italian Wars, which
went on from 1494 to 1559, were fought for the control of these Italian states by European powers.
The most consistently fought over city states in Italy were Naples, Florence, Venice, Sicily, and the
Papal State of Rome. Many European powers were involved in the beginning, but soon the wars
became a struggle between mainly France and Spain. While the Italian Wars were harsh on Italy,
they helped to spread the Italian Renaissance throughout Western Europe. The Renaissance Era
began a new way of thinking, which has been traced to the beginnings of Italian nationalism, which
has contributed to the Unification of Italy.
The Italian Wars began in 1494, when Charles VIII of France invaded Italy, and in 1495
conquered Naples. When challenged by Spain, the Roman Emperor, the pope, Venice, and Milan,
France was forced to retreat. Charles VIII successor, Louis XII had control over Milan and Genoa
in 1499. The second Italian War occurred when Louis then gained control of Naples by getting
permission from Pope Alexander VI, and agreeing to share it with Ferdinand V of Spain. This
resulted in disagreements between France and Spain

Power Of Words In The Book Theif Markus Zusak
The Power of Words Words have the capability to save a life, but they also have the power to end
one. Language, specifically words, have very powerful means. Words are considered the most
effective way to communicate. They shape our emotions, lifestyle, decisions, culture, and more.
Words have the ability to connect people, outlast, and influence opinions. Opinions and thoughts
are often determined by words. Mohammed Qahtani, 2015 World Champion of Toastmasters,
provides an example of this. In his speech, Mohammed said, Do you know that the leading cause
of lung cancer? Is not actually a cigarette, it s your DNA. You could smoke for years and nothing
would ever happen to you. This whole war against smoking is just to restrict the farming of
tobacco. Mr. Contest Chair, fellow... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
with a group of friends and the results five of them believe what I said, two of them started
smoking (Qahtani). Almost everyone knows that smoking has terrible health effects, yet
Mohammed was able to change people s minds about the idea of smoking, just by telling them it
has no effect. This shows how easily words can modify human s judgment. Another example of
words shaping people s thoughts is in The Book Thief Markus Zusak writes, Yes the Fuhrer
decided that he would rule the world without words. I will never fire a gun! he devised. I will
not have to (Zusak 445). This quote truly shows how influential words can be, Hitler was able to
get thousands of followers with his words. He used words in such a way, he convinced many
people to do horrible things, he even started a war, all with his words. Qahtani presents another
example of words influencing people when he talks about his friend, Nassar. Nassar had drug

Identity In Walt Whitman s From Song Of Myself
Author Walt Whitman wrote a poem called From Song Of Myself , where he discusses all the
things in life that surround him, and how his identity is reflected. His poem is mainly focused
on him and his enjoyment in life. I celebrate myself, and sing myself... (488). This quote starts
his poem in a joyful mood, where the reader is ready to embark on his reasoning of why he
celebrates himself. However, there is a pattern where the tone goes from light and cheerful to
being dull and dark. In one stanza he proclaims Houses and rooms are full of perfumes...I breathe
the fragrance myself and know i like it (488), then the next stanza he states The atmosphere is not a
perfume, it has no taste of distillation.. (488). There is an obvious change in

The United States and the International Criminal Court (ICC)

This paper will clearly lay out the Unites States concerns with the International Criminal Court and
will attempt to resolve them. I will then argue that no country has the right to be above international
law, including the United States and that it is in the best interest of America and the world
community for the united states to join the efforts of the ICC and sign the Rome Statute.

simple and soaring hope of this vision. We are close to its realization. We will do our part to see it

Finally, in July of 1998 the international community met in Rome to finalize the draft statute, which
is now referred to as the Rome Statute of the ICC. The primary goals of the International Criminal
Court are to achieve justice for all, to end impunity, to help end conflicts, to remedy the deficiencies
of ad hoc tribunals, to take over when national criminal justice institutions are unwilling or unable
to act, and to deter future war criminals.
For nearly half a century almost as long as the United Nations has been in existence the General
Assembly has recognized the need to establish such a court to prosecute and punish persons
responsible for crimes such as genocide. Many thought... that the horrors of the Second World War
the camps, the cruelty, the exterminations, the Holocaust could never happen again. And yet they

heinous reality that calls for a historic response.

Emily Dickinson s There s a Certain Slant of Light Essay
In Emily Dickinson s lyrical poem There s a certain slant of light she describes a revelation that
is experienced on cold winter afternoons. Further she goes to say that this revelation of self
oppresses, like the Heft of Cathedral Tunes and causes Heavenly Hurt , yet does not scare for it
is neither exterior nor permanent. This only leaves it to be an internal feeling, and according to
Dickinson that is where all the Meanings lie. There s no way for this feeling to be explained, all
that is known is that it is the SealDespair , and an imperial affliction. These descriptions have a
rather powerful connotation in showing the oppressive nature of his sentiment. There is an official
mark of despair and an imperial affliction... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That oppresses, like the Heft of Cathedral Tunes . It has a very heavy feeling derived from the
word Heft as well as Cathedral Tunes. The Cathedral is considered sacred yet it is such as somber
sound that it could easily affect a person s mood. The use of paradoxes in the poem creates a sense
of confusion about the true feelings about the revelation. Heavenly Hurt is both wonderful and
horrible and suggests that the pain comes from the heavens. This suggestion is support in
various situations throughout the poem. Cathedral Tunes and Sent us of the Air are the prime
examples. It shows that this new realization may have been from a divine being therefore the
reader is confused on it s significance because it perhaps a type of gift. Landscapes Listen
Shadows hold their breathe is the personification used in the poem. This personification in the
work shows that a divine being has arranged for this revelation to occur therefore, all of nature
will halt to the being who has been selected to find this new piece of themselves. She also uses a
bit of irony as well as parallel structure to set the scene in the poem. The revelation is brought out
in the light of an wintery afternoon, this is the parallel yet it oppressive and dark which is ironic
because the light brought with it such darkness.

King Philip Regime and Government In the novel, Paris 1200 by John W. Baldwin, King Philip
(Philip Augustus), was an important contributor to the growth of the French Monarchy. He was
able to increase the Monarchy better then any other King before him. He defeated many
enemies, sought to overtake the British crown and embarked on a third crusade. King Philip
Augustus brought financial stability to the country and was very popular amongst his subjects.
King Philip when assigned King had many goals to achieve to make his Kingdom the most
powerful. He changed the political structure to better suit these goals and allow for a better
transition with his changes. King Philip Augustus had different relationships, good and bad,
with the Catholic Church, the Parisian Elite and England. Philip II, starting at such a young age,
had high expectations for the development of the Kingdom. Philip Augustus was the late son of
King Louis VII and it was a miracle that King Louis VII could bear a son so late in his regime.
His birth at Paris on 21 August 1165 was the occasion of exceptional rejoicing for his parents,
and for the Parisian population because it brought long years of anxiety to a close (Baldwin 71).
The country finally felt secure knowing there was a male hair in line to rule the Kingdom. King
Philip was the son of Louis VII and Alix de Champagne. He was born in Paris and spent as much
time as possible in the capital area. His father planned to associate Philip with him on the

Moving To Gondrin
I have a moved twice in my life, with the second and last being the toughest to handle. I began in
Chagrin Falls, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, where I was born in this world. Chagrin Falls, as a I

villagein France, where I spent my early childhood. Gondrin was different; bright, colorful, and
full of flowers. It was the epitome of a small village. My second and final move brought me to
Weddington, North Carolina, my home for the past eight years. When I moved to this new place, a
bustling and upcoming town, I was taken aback by the differences between it and my old home.
In France, everything was quiet and rural, while Weddington, despite not being a big city, was the
polar opposite. There were shops in France, while there were stores in Weddington. There were
fruit and vegetable stands in France, while there were supermarkets in Weddington. I do not seek to
condemn Weddington, as it was just vastly unfamiliar to my young brain. Living in France as I...

To what extent have judicial concerns about public policy...
Policy reasoning has been a central, perhaps the central, characteristic of the judicial development

to allow ourselves to be persuaded by the shortcomings of the police in individual cases that
undermine that principle [the core principle of Hill] .xi However, this seems extremely
unsympathetic and much too rigid. Gordon Anthony writes the judgment appears to leave no
scope for protection of the individual within the framework of negligence .xii If judges are
unwilling to impose duty onto the police because of policy it seems much too difficult to win
claims against the police in national courts and, as in Osman, claimants will have to go to the
European Court of Human Rights. Being forced to take this route seems excessively onerous and
unfair on claimants. This immunity to liability may also allow the standard of performance by the
police to drop and see police negligence go unpunished.
Although the above cases appear to demonstrate injustice on behalf of the claimants, judges have
good reason to deny imposing duty of care onto the police. It was explained in Hill that imposing
a duty of care onto the police for every failure would encourage both defensive policing and would
involve time and resources from the police, which would be better for society if used in the
functioning of the police. Defensive policing would be a particularly important issue as

Abstract
It is of utmost importance to the Harmony Creek Middle School that they conduct research into
how their students are learning in different classrooms. They believe that their teachers may need
to develop the same methodology in their classroom instruction in order to achieve the highest
math scores possible. I will investigate Harmony Creek Middle School test scores based on a
number of factors: classroom methods of teaching, gender, race, socioeconomic status and teacher
student race. I will use the ANOVA as well as the t test to investigate this. I will begin with my
introduction in which I will give more information about the teachers. Next, a review of literature
on the aspects and research that has been obtained on each method of instruction used at Harmony
Creek Middle School will be discussed and reported on. Finally, I will take a look at the results, and
I will give my recommendations to the school.

The Identification Of Good And Evil
The Identification of Good and Evil
A warped piece of wood must wait until it has been laid against the straightening board, steamed,
and forced into shape before it can become straight; a piece of blunt metal must wait until it has
been whetted on a grindstone before it can become sharp. In this quote, Hsun Tzu, who was a
philosopher (300 BCE), explains that the nature of humanity is evil. Therefore, there must be
directions that indicate our way to good. Throughout the life of a human being, factors contribute to
build personalities, while also creating labels in the social environment. Most of the time, humans
reflect characteristics of those individuals surrounding them. Either those characteristics are good or
evil, they construct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We need to know who is good and bad and therefore who we want to avoid and who we can
tolerate. This means that the interaction with some other individuals is needed to create a
personality, and therefore, determine if a human is good or evil. But how is it possible to label
an individual as good or evil , due to the others this person interacts with? Considering that people
interacts with others due to personal interests for the other individual, there is a correlation as
they share a point of view. For example, if the surroundings of an individual are constructed by
insecurity, negativity and vandalism, it will create a similar point of view that will lead to the
evil. And on the other hand, if the surrounding of an individual is positive, it will create a way to
good. Factors such as speaking, thinking, and communicating attribute to the personality of an
individual define if we are good or evil, but also ignorance or illiteracy tend to mislead people.
Another factor that is essential while people talk about human beings born good or evil is the
illiteracy and ignorance that people tend to have. There are abounding communities that live in
poverty, and as a matter of fact, these communities are more feasible to have crimes regularly. Not
only there are more crimes committed, but also several adults live in an illiterate state. This affects
the communities, since the illiterate adults have little to no interest in education for their children. In

which are: 1.Need recognition 2.Information search 3.Evaluation of alternative 4.Purchase
decision 5.Post purchase evaluation These five steps would be applied to describe the
interviewee s decision making process: 1.Need recognition The interviewee recognized his need
when his old printer started to malfunction a lot . It is time consuming to constantly fix it and
replace things. He recognized it is time to get something new. He stated the printer mostly just
for printing and scanning but what he wanted is a multi functional printer. 2.Information search
The interviewee did not have a specific band choice set before arriving at the office store. He
comes to an office works store to see what brands they have and saw a huge package of HP
printer placed right in the front of the entrance with a special deal of 30% off the retail price.
When he had seen that, he wanted to have the deal. He then examined the price of the printer
from other stores and do more research on the internet when he got home. The interviewee prefer
searching for the type ( functionality ) of the printer first and then for the price when he use search
engines. His references are consumer reviews on online blog sites and Amazon site, commercial
Web sites as well as printer tests on PC magazine sites. The interviewee marked the relative

Finding issues with in the American healthcare system is not a very difficult task. But figuring

I think that it would help break America s unbelievable inequality amongst our societies as well.
The overall coverage of the German health care system is very extensive and makes sure that
their people are taken care of. The next country we have to look at when thinking about great
health care and where to take notes from is, japan. Japan s health care system is very cheap and
service is very fast, but the down side to this is the hospitals are in financial deficit because the
cost of everything is so low. But with a little spike in cost will help prevent the closing and
keeping the hospitals from going broke. The health care system in America in my opinion has
the potential to change for the better. The affirmative care act is a good step forward. But it is
not enough yet. If we can figure out a plan in which we can incorporate a few ideas from other
countries that are doing well in terms of their health care. I believe that if we can adopt a few
aspects from the German health care system, such as the rich and healthy pay for the sick and
poor, and the idea behind that if a person is to lose their job, they can keep their health insurance.
These ideas will make the affordable and availability of health insurance is much

expectancy is roughly 6 10 more years (Data ranges over different countries) than males. Beginning
the experiment, one of the subject s parents was asked to sit down with the subject s teacher at that
time and together rate the subjects personality with a given 25 trait dimension. Now that all of the
participant s dispositions were categorized accordingly, the next step was to create equations that
would evaluate a person s life expectancy at different points in their lives. Although several analyses
were made during this experiment, the focal one was the hazard regression analysis. This analysis
calculated mortality rate at all different ages by closely relating it to the personality dimension of the
participant (Friedman, Tucker, Tomlinson Keasey, Schwartz amp; Wingard, 1993). After running
through all the data and placing it in the appropriate equations, astounding results were revealed. As

that was two thirds the rate of men. Out of the six different personalities that a subject could have
been, two tested positive to being strong predictors on influencing longevity, whether it be longer or
shorter life expectancy. These dispositions were Conscientiousness and Cheerfulness.

The Underlying Causes Of World War One
World War One was one of the most deadly conflicts in all human history. It began in 1914 and
ended in 1918. In those four years, almost 17 million people died and over 20 million were
wounded. What were the underlying causes of WWI? Three of these causes were militarism,
nationalism, and the loose alliances that had been formed prior to the war. It is only warlike
nations which have prospered; a nation dies as soon as it disarms (Emile Zola, The Origins of the
First World War). This is one of many examples of the sense of militarism in most of the European
countries during, and even before, WWI. Militarism is the belief that one s country should maintain
a strong military. This caused tension with the European countries because even before

The Bosnian-Herzegovina Genocide And Ethnic Cleanse
Introduction
The Bosnian Herzegovina genocide or ethnic cleansing went on from April 1992 to December 1995
around the end of the Second World War. When Bosnia became its own independent nation on April
5th 1922 it wanted to cleanse its country of any non Serbian residents. The killing of Bosnian
Muslims during this time was stated by international tribunals to be an ethnic cleansing however the
events that took place in July 1995 in Srebrenica was so horrific it was deemed a genocide. The
United Nations should have intervened a lot sooner than they did and should have sent more than
just peace keepers to protect the human beings that were being slaughtered.
Victims
The victims targeted during the Bosnian Herzegovina genocide were mostly Bosnian Muslims
and Croatians. The majority of the people that were being murdered and executed were male
(boys and men), while the women were being raped and tortured. The downfall of the Ottoman
Empire gave a rise to the thoughts of nationalism which in turn caused the ethno religious (an
ethnic group whose members are also unified by a common religious background) in Bosnia to
have clashing issues like historical problems between groups and political issues. The three
different groups which were living in Bosnia were obviously Bosnians but also Serbians and
Croatians.

Weaknesses in our infrastructure created by cyber threats

3.How these issues can be addressed?
In almost every application of modern infrastructure, technology plays a huge part in running and
maintaining said infrastructure as efficiently, precisely and reliably as possible. Traffic lights run on
automated cycles, airports have their booking and flight data entirely digitized, and water treatment
systems rely on computerized controls and systems. All of these and many more are pieces of
infrastructure that had once been done by hand, but now use computers and technology to operate
at the rates vital for our fast moving and massive societies. It can be said with great certainty that
the computerized systems behind many of our societies support structures have intrinsically
become what we define with the title of critical infrastructure. The problem with the otherwise
efficient and superior implementations of computerized technology is that now, in the wake of
programs such as STUXNET, it is incredibly apparent that this infrastructure is vulnerable. For any
number of reasons or motivations, terrorist or criminal hackers are able to find ways in to the
computerized systems of critical infrastructure, and as we move forward, these vulnerabilities could
easily turn into catastrophic disasters. Computerized technology has become integral to modern

Alternative 1 : 20 year mortgage
Because of the fact that BHC is a new venture ; the risk is actually high. Mortgage rate appears to
compensate for the risk. When BHC had acquired $2,275,000 with a mortgage.
When we look at the interest coverage between 75 percent occupancy and 50 percent occupancy of

depreciation of $320,000 will not require a cash outflow and will cover the principal repayment of

strings with varying tensions that act concurrently. It also has 4 pcs of super pulley with clamp

We tried to fix our mistake and it was fine. We were able to fix our mistake and continue the
experiment. We had fun in balancing the force table and computing for the resultant by using
component method and polygon method. The experiment gave us a preparation on how to solve
certain situation that may happen in our lives.
V. EVALUATION
1. Why is it important for the ring to be at the center? Since the mass hangers have equal masses,
can you disregard them in the experiment? Why?
It is important for the ring to be at the center because it indicates if the forces are balance or not.
You can t disregard the ring in the experiment because it will affect the resulting value if you will
compute for the resultant of the force.
2. When a pull is applied on the ring and then released, why does it sometimes fail to return to the
center?
Sometimes the forces are close to equilibrium but are not exactly equal so a slight disturbance in
the balance will cause significant effect.
3. What is the significance of the resultant of F1, F2, and F3 to the remaining force F4? What
generalization can you make regarding their relationships?
It will act as a force that will completely neutralize F4. The force F4 and the resultant of F1, F2, F3
are exactly opposite of each other.
4. If the order of adding vectors is changed (i.e. from F1 + F2 + F3 to F2 + F1 + F3) will the
resultant be different? Why?
No, because

Canadian Constitution Act of 1982
I found myself thinking sociologically when I realized that equality in Canada is less practiced as
what the Canadian Constitution Act of 1982 claims. In this constitution, it is stated that every
individual should be treated equally regardless of their race, ethnicity, colour, religion, sex, age, and
any disability; however, in reality, individuals experience inequality in the form of racism
throughout the Canadian society. For instance, a few months ago, a black male was asked to leave

not family friendly but this type of fashion is normal for teenagers who are influenced by the hip

Moreover, in 1940s, Canadian born, black students were not admitted in Canadian nursing schools
because of the idea that Canadian hospitals would not hire them. Thus, the author concludes that
Black nurses face racism today because of the historical exclusion and segmentation in the labour
market.
The authors, Gillian Creese and Tania Das Gupta, both demonstrate that equality is less pronounced
than the Canadian Constitution Act of 1982 states. Although these two articles were written on
different time periods in history, both articles display racism in the Canadian society, specifically
at a workplace. Creese focuses on the experiences of Chinese workers whereas Gupta investigates
the experiences of Black nurses. However, Creese s description of racism is more extreme than
Gupta s, which could indicate that there has been an improvement in equality in Canada.
Regardless, these articles prove that there is a difference between the promise made by the
constitution and reality.

digital dashboard to help me operate my business better. I am going to use my digital dashboard
to help me keep track of of inventory to know how much merchandise and prescriptions are sold in
a day to maintain products people buy and keep them in stock. Watching trends at the end of every
day can help my businesshave correct products and the right amount of inventory. I would keep up
with managementto know what customers are saying and if they are satisfied with how the
business is going. It can help me gather information to know what customers are looking for and
how it can benefit my business. Using the digital dashboard I can keep up... Show more content on

Maintaining stock helps keep a better flow and customers will always be able to purchase what
they need. Second is to make sure to have enough staff and making sure to schedule fewer people
during slower hours and watch for trends when it is busy or slow. Last, making sure bills are paid
on time and are kept up with properly.
Ordering Process
To review the ordering process for The Broadway Cafe to make sure it is efficient and effective I
would change counter A to where a customeris able to order both their meal and drink at one
place. This will benefit both the process of getting a meal and make it easier for customers to
order everything they need at one spot. Counter B should be used as just food pick up and
counter C for picking up your drink so things do not get crowded in one area. Counter D could be
with counter A so when you order your meal you can go ahead and pay. Counter E is necessary
where it is and removes bottlenecks.
To Be process
Changing around where medication is ordered, picked up, and paid for to just one area makes it
easier for customers to get everything at one spot rather than having a section for each one which
will be more efficient. When waiting for medication to be picked up customers can look around at
products and might buy something else. Once the prescription is ready and they have questions
there is a separate area to talk to the pharmacist privately. With three easy steps of ordering/picking

Critical thinking of The Grand Budapest Hotel and American Beauty
The Grand Budapest Hotel is one of the most spectacular films of the 21st century. The movie is
interesting and beautifully shot comedy directed by Wes Anderson. The Grand Budapest Hotel
consists of a prologue, five parts, and an epilogue. The film features many successful actors, but
the main story revolves around an interesting narration of Zero Moustafa (played by F Murray
Abraham, but embodied in younger years by Tony Revolori), who encounters the Author (starred
by Tom Wilkinson and Jude Law). Zero reveals the secret of how he became the owner of the
Grand Budapest s Hotel. The film draws attention to such themes as crime, love, the family revolts,
prison breaks, police action, and their possible consequences, thus transferring the audience into the
world of the characters and providing the lesson about moral values for life.
Foremost, it is important to single out the energetic character of Monsieur Gustave (played by
Ralph Fiennes), a concierge of the Grand Budapest s Hotel. Monsieur Gustave has mentored the
lobby boy, an orphan Zero. Thus, the concierge became a teacher and an advisor of a young boy
with a refugee past. Gustave saved Zero from police with the help of old acquaintance. On the
other hand, the lobby boy helps Gustave in his funny flee from prison. Zero sends him small
hammers concealed inside the cakes

The requirements of Prof. Cond. R. 1.8(a) must be met even when the transaction is not closely
related to the subject matter of the representation, as when a lawyer drafting a will for a client
learns that the client needs money for unrelated expenses and offers to make a loan to the client.
The Rule applies to lawyers engaged in the sale of goods or services related to the practice of
law, for example, the sale of title insurance or investment services to existing clients of the
lawyer s legal practice. It also applies to lawyers purchasing property from estates they represent
Prof. Cond. R. 1.8(a) does not apply to standard commercial transactions between the lawyer and
the client for products or services that the client generally markets to others, for example, banking
or brokerage services, medical services, products manufactured or distributed by the client, and
utilities services. In such transactions, the lawyer has no advantage in dealing with the client, and
the restrictions in paragraph (a) are unnecessary and impracticable In order for Haynus to enter
into a business transaction with a client and ensure that the representation will not be compromised
in any way. Haynus must present the idea of the business plan in writing to his client; he has to
make sure the terms are reasonable and fair. The factors to be considered in determining reasonable
and fair we need

Pharmacological treatments include analgesics, nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS),
opioids hyaluronic acid, corticosteroid injections (Citiation Garcia) or disease modifying
osteoarthritis drugs (DMOADs) such as sodium pentosan polysulfate. Kumagai et al researched the
efficacy of subcutaneous injections with sodium pentosan polysulfate on the improvement of
cartilage while Garcia Padilla et al researched the efficacy of intra articular injections of bicarbonate
and calcium gluconate. For treatments to be clinically significant they must alleviate the symptoms;
therefore, the treatment should decrease the patient?s level of pain and/or joint stiffness from
moderate to mild while resting or being active. The normal range of motion of the knee is 0 to 130
degrees for flexion and 120 to 0 degrees for extension(CITATION Mercks); therefore, within the
affected joint the range of motion should increase by 10 degrees. However, the range of motion
will be affected by the amount of cartilage lost and scar tissue in the knee joint; therefore, a full

The Representative Democracy of Australia
Australian government takes the form of a representative democracy. Encompassing a political
system which allows eligible citizens to vote to elect candidates to govern the nation on their
behalf. In conjunction, there are numerous principles Australians consider democracy must
embody, if the nation is to be considered a democracy at all. At the heart of Australian democracy
are the core defining values of: freedom of election and being elected; freedom of assembly and
political participation; freedom of speech, expression and religious belief; the rule of law; and other
basic human rights. Such as those proposed by The Honourable Aharon Barak, President of the
Supreme Court of Israel, who having noted that all democracies share common characteristics,
suggested these included public safety and security, the democratic values of the State and its very
existence.
The premise of terrorism has expedited the initiation of integral changes to the legal system,
reducing the rule of law and eroding established civil liberties and legal protections. The counter
terrorism measures introduced in Australia confer a power to compel submission to interrogation, a
power to detain and interrogate without charge, and a power of preventative detention. In doing so
these laws jeopardise the rule of law, expand executive power, diminish existing rights, endanger the
separation of powers, and undermine judicial procedures. Further the legislative definition of
terrorism provides for the

How Does The Cookie Monster Affect Children
The Cookie Monster who is a puppet who is obsessed with eating cookies, especially the
chocolate chip cookies. Even though he would eat anything, cookies are his favorite. He is an
iconic figure to many children and they look up to him in a way. He is love by many children
and popular among them. The cause of making the Cookie Monster becoming a vegetarian would
be to set a good diet example for the children. It would affect both the Cookie Monster and the
children. If we were to turn the Cookie Monster into a vegetarian, there would be some good
effects but also some bad effects as well.
The very first good effect he would have is, he will lose weight. Because one of the most obvious
reason he is overweight is from eating too much cookies. Because of eating excessive cookies, he
always seems hyper and always wants to eat more. Since he only loves cookies, every time he wants
to eat, he would only eat cookies. Since cookies have a lot of sugar in them, he is less likely to be
healthy. If he was to become a vegetarian, he would become healthier. He would become less
hyper and may not always be as hungry and would eat less cookies. ... Show more content on

If we can turn him into a vegetarian it can have many good effects on the children who watch his
shows. By turning him into a vegetarian, we can change the views and thoughts of many
children. We can teach the children through him and he can set a good diet example for
children. The majority of children are less likely to eat vegetables. By turning the Cookie
Monster into a vegetarian, we can show the children the benefits of eating vegetables and show
them how important it is for children to eat vegetables. By showing them, the Cookie Monster
becoming a vegetarian, children will start likely to eat more vegetables. They will have more
understanding of how vegetables can be good for them and parents probably won t have to force
their children to eat vegetables like they do

  • 2. Puritan Argumentative Essay The Puritan settler s beliefs in the relationship between individuals, God, and the community during the seventeenth century in New England created a sense of us (the Puritans) vs. them (the Native Americans and non Puritan colonists), who hindered the idea of a city upon a hill, the perfect Christian community. From John Winthrop s sermon warning the first settlers of New England about the retributions God would bring to the community if individuals broke there covenant with God (Winthrop 17 20). To the way, those same beliefs, brought over by the first Puritan settlers, affected the future interactions Puritans would have with Native Americans during the times of declension, and their views towards them as seen in Mary Rowlandson s narrative.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Casper and Richard O. Davies Individuals could do nothing about their predestination: God s grace alone, not good deeds, determined their fates (Casper and Davies, 17). This relationship between God and the individual would affect the way Puritan colonists interpreted individual success as a way of knowing their fate, which separated the rich from the poor, who would not be saved (Winthrop, 18). This idea of individualism would help create the mentality of us vs them, as seen in Mary Rowlandson s narrative where she views the behavior of the Native Americans as savagery and describes them as heathens as lesser beings than herself (Rowlandson, 19). The idea of individualism allows the Puritan colonists to view the Native American behaviors as uncivilized compared to their own, which then they use to interpret their behaviors as favorable to God and the behavior of the Native Americans as demonized or against God. Which then begins to create a view of Native Americans as enemies that hinder the idea of a city upon a hill or a barrier in creating the perfect Christian community. Which in turn creates the conflicts between the colonists and the Native Americans as they attempt to convert them into Christianity as seen with the praying Indians in Rowlandson s narrative ... Although ideas have changed over time, the law in general still exist in today s society. The idea of law was intended for order and avoiding citizens from revolting and rebelling against the government. People should obey the law because the law creates a stable and safer society. There are many reasons why people obey the law People obey the law because of religious values, fear of punishment, costs, and it protects the weak. For example running a stop because you re involved in a street race can feel risky but overall the feeling of breaking the law and getting away with it is a fun experience. There is a theory that the hot or attractive women like men who are in trouble with the law. Although this is a myth, I have personally seen this in action before. Having the persona of a bad boy gives men especially an advantage on women. To some women, men who break the law seem to be tough and physically strong. Citizens also break the law when they don t agree with government regulations. A perfect example is the era s of Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr., etc. Parks specifically, refused to give her seat near the front of the bus for a Caucasian male. The law in her state was any black or colored citizen had to give up their front row seat if a white person got on the bus. Also if the bus was crowded with riders, blacks were suppose to give up their seat regardless of its location to a white person. Rosa Parks decided to go against the law at that time and not relinquish her seat to a white man. She was therefore thrown in jail for going breaking the law. Parks went against ... Former Apple employee Ron Johnson, became the CEO of JC Penny, and had many ideas for how to rebrand the company. He changed the way JC Penny promotes products, simplified the pricing, the presentation of the company, the retail setting, and the personality of the store. Johnson reduced the number of promotions a year from over 590 to 12. In addition, Johnson created a 3 tier pricing system. In this system, the first tier is the everyday low price, the second tier is month long sale items, and the third tier is the best price discount, which occurs on every first and third Friday of the month.... The retail setting, or the store itself, had a makeover as well. The layout and organization changed. The services and now at the center and the products are at the perimeter of a store, as well as the products being put into shops with certain brand names in each shop . The personality will change, mostly because of the new framed logo. With all of these changes, the quality will stay the same, if not even better, and there will be an increase of over 100 new brands into the store. These changes are crucial to JC Penny to keep the store in business. I have learned that if you do not change your business with the times or fads, people will lose interest and you will slowly start to lose customers and money, and eventually your whole business. Also, with the right changes, your business can last for a long time and stay popular. Examples of this are Facebook, JC Penny, and Apple. • 9. The Republican Party And The Democratic Party Essay The Republican Party has long relied on the support of older, white, conservatives. Regrettably, they are a shrinking portion of the voting population. The problem that they face is a shrinking voter base, mainly due to age. As their electorate shrinks, it is imperative for the party to appeal to the more liberal younger generations for support. The Republican Partyneeds to look forward to true reform. Above all, the party needs to abandon much of their social conservatismto appeal to millennials interests to stay relevant on the national political scene. David Frum offers four potential solutions for where the Republican party can go from here. He himself believes that the first two considerations of doubling down on elite backed candidates or tactical concession on immigration are unhelpful and too narrow respectively. Therefore, his most confident considerations are in his third and fourth options. His fourth choice to keep the Republican party relevant is, in his words, to change the rules of the game. (Frum 2016) Parties are in favor of processes that help advance their (or limit the other party s) political and ideological goals. Frum recognizes that outside of the presidential election, Republicans have done quite well on down ballot elections. For this reason, they have the ability to exert considerably more control over voting and election processes than Democrats. For example, having the ability to gerrymander as well as change voter registration rules ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Emergence Of Italian Nationalism The emergence of Italian nationalism began in the Renaissance Era and was then encouraged by key Italian figures, leading to the unification of Italy which was overall beneficial for the country. (mention benefits for Italy and how it is today) Before unification, Italy was a collection of different independent states. The Italian Wars, which went on from 1494 to 1559, were fought for the control of these Italian states by European powers. The most consistently fought over city states in Italy were Naples, Florence, Venice, Sicily, and the Papal State of Rome. Many European powers were involved in the beginning, but soon the wars became a struggle between mainly France and Spain. While the Italian Wars were harsh on Italy, they helped to spread the Italian Renaissance throughout Western Europe. The Renaissance Era began a new way of thinking, which has been traced to the beginnings of Italian nationalism, which has contributed to the Unification of Italy. The Italian Wars began in 1494, when Charles VIII of France invaded Italy, and in 1495 conquered Naples. When challenged by Spain, the Roman Emperor, the pope, Venice, and Milan, France was forced to retreat. Charles VIII successor, Louis XII had control over Milan and Genoa in 1499. The second Italian War occurred when Louis then gained control of Naples by getting permission from Pope Alexander VI, and agreeing to share it with Ferdinand V of Spain. • 11. Power Of Words In The Book Theif Markus Zusak The Power of Words Words have the capability to save a life, but they also have the power to end one. Language, specifically words, have very powerful means. Words are considered the most effective way to communicate. They shape our emotions, lifestyle, decisions, culture, and more. Words have the ability to connect people, outlast, and influence opinions. Opinions and thoughts are often determined by words. Mohammed Qahtani, 2015 World Champion of Toastmasters, provides an example of this. In his speech, Mohammed said, Do you know that the leading cause of lung cancer? This shows how easily words can modify human s judgment. Another example of words shaping people s thoughts is in The Book Thief Markus Zusak writes, Yes the Fuhrer decided that he would rule the world without words. I will never fire a gun! he devised. I will not have to (Zusak 445). This quote truly shows how influential words can be, Hitler was able to get thousands of followers with his words. This quote starts his poem in a joyful mood, where the reader is ready to embark on his reasoning of why he celebrates himself. However, there is a pattern where the tone goes from light and cheerful to being dull and dark. Emily Dickinson s There s a Certain Slant of Light Essay In Emily Dickinson s lyrical poem There s a certain slant of light she describes a revelation that is experienced on cold winter afternoons. Further she goes to say that this revelation of self oppresses, like the Heft of Cathedral Tunes and causes Heavenly Hurt , yet does not scare for it is neither exterior nor permanent. This only leaves it to be an internal feeling, and according to Dickinson that is where all the Meanings lie. There s no way for this feeling to be explained, all that is known is that it is the SealDespair , and an imperial affliction. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That oppresses, like the Heft of Cathedral Tunes . It has a very heavy feeling derived from the word Heft as well as Cathedral Tunes. The Cathedral is considered sacred yet it is such as somber sound that it could easily affect a person s mood. The use of paradoxes in the poem creates a sense of confusion about the true feelings about the revelation. Heavenly Hurt is both wonderful and horrible and suggests that the pain comes from the heavens. This suggestion is support in various situations throughout the poem. Cathedral Tunes and Sent us of the Air are the prime examples. It shows that this new realization may have been from a divine being therefore the reader is confused on it s significance because it perhaps a type of gift. Landscapes Listen Shadows hold their breathe is the personification used in the poem. This personification in the work shows that a divine being has arranged for this revelation to occur therefore, all of nature will halt to the being who has been selected to find this new piece of themselves. She also uses a bit of irony as well as parallel structure to set the scene in the poem. The revelation is brought out in the light of an wintery afternoon, this is the parallel yet it oppressive and dark which is ironic because the light brought with it such darkness. He defeated many enemies, sought to overtake the British crown and embarked on a third crusade. Gondrin was different; bright, colorful, and full of flowers. It was the epitome of a small village. My second and final move brought me to Weddington, North Carolina, my home for the past eight years. When I moved to this new place, a bustling and upcoming town, I was taken aback by the differences between it and my old home. In France, everything was quiet and rural, while Weddington, despite not being a big city, was the polar opposite. There were shops in France, while there were stores in Weddington. Gordon Anthony writes the judgment appears to leave no scope for protection of the individual within the framework of negligence .xii If judges are unwilling to impose duty onto the police because of policy it seems much too difficult to win claims against the police in national courts and, as in Osman, claimants will have to go to the European Court of Human Rights. Being forced to take this route seems excessively onerous and unfair on claimants. This immunity to liability may also allow the standard of performance by the police to drop and see police negligence go unpunished. Although the above cases appear to demonstrate injustice on behalf of the claimants, judges have good reason to deny imposing duty of care onto the police. The Study of Methods of Instruction and Their Influence on Diverse Students Test Scores Is there a correlation between test scores and methods of teaching for students based on gender, race, or economics? By Monica Ross July 29, 2016 Introduction to Statistics and Research Arkansas State University Abstract It is of utmost importance to the Harmony Creek Middle School that they conduct research into how their students are learning in different classrooms. They believe that their teachers may need to develop the same methodology in their classroom instruction in order to achieve the highest math scores possible. I will investigate Harmony Creek Middle School test scores based on a number of factors: classroom methods of teaching, gender, race, socioeconomic status and teacher student race. I will use the ANOVA as well as the t test to investigate this. I will begin with my introduction in which I will give more information about the teachers. Next, a review of literature on the aspects and research that has been obtained on each method of instruction used at Harmony Creek Middle School will be discussed and reported on. Finally, I will take a look at the results, and I will give my recommendations to the school. Is there a correlation between test scores and methods of teaching for students based on gender, race, or economics? Introduction This paper will answer the question above. The Identification Of Good And Evil The Identification of Good and Evil A warped piece of wood must wait until it has been laid against the straightening board, steamed, and forced into shape before it can become straight; a piece of blunt metal must wait until it has been whetted on a grindstone before it can become sharp. In this quote, Hsun Tzu, who was a philosopher (300 BCE), explains that the nature of humanity is evil. Therefore, there must be directions that indicate our way to good. Throughout the life of a human being, factors contribute to build personalities, while also creating labels in the social environment. Most of the time, humans reflect characteristics of those individuals surrounding them. Either those characteristics are good or evil, they construct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We need to know who is good and bad and therefore who we want to avoid and who we can tolerate. This means that the interaction with some other individuals is needed to create a personality, and therefore, determine if a human is good or evil. But how is it possible to label an individual as good or evil , due to the others this person interacts with? Considering that people interacts with others due to personal interests for the other individual, there is a correlation as they share a point of view. For example, if the surroundings of an individual are constructed by insecurity, negativity and vandalism, it will create a similar point of view that will lead to the evil. And on the other hand, if the surrounding of an individual is positive, it will create a way to good. Factors such as speaking, thinking, and communicating attribute to the personality of an individual define if we are good or evil, but also ignorance or illiteracy tend to mislead people. Another factor that is essential while people talk about human beings born good or evil is the illiteracy and ignorance that people tend to have. There are abounding communities that live in poverty, and as a matter of fact, these communities are more feasible to have crimes regularly. Not only there are more crimes committed, but also several adults live in an illiterate state. The Bosnian-Herzegovina Genocide And Ethnic Cleanse Introduction The Bosnian Herzegovina genocide or ethnic cleansing went on from April 1992 to December 1995 around the end of the Second World War. When Bosnia became its own independent nation on April 5th 1922 it wanted to cleanse its country of any non Serbian residents. The killing of Bosnian Muslims during this time was stated by international tribunals to be an ethnic cleansing however the events that took place in July 1995 in Srebrenica was so horrific it was deemed a genocide. The United Nations should have intervened a lot sooner than they did and should have sent more than just peace keepers to protect the human beings that were being slaughtered. Victims The victims targeted during the Bosnian Herzegovina genocide were mostly Bosnian Muslims and Croatians. The majority of the people that were being murdered and executed were male (boys and men), while the women were being raped and tortured. The downfall of the Ottoman Empire gave a rise to the thoughts of nationalism which in turn caused the ethno religious (an ethnic group whose members are also unified by a common religious background) in Bosnia to have clashing issues like historical problems between groups and political issues. Since the mass hangers have equal masses, can you disregard them in the experiment? Why? It is important for the ring to be at the center because it indicates if the forces are balance or not. You can t disregard the ring in the experiment because it will affect the resulting value if you will compute for the resultant of the force. 2.
