assailant entering an academic environment has compelled law enforcement agencies and
educational institutions to revise their tactical responses. The first paragraph consists of the

implemented to safeguard their students and staff. The third paragraph will cover the tactics and

The assailant s intention is to assault as many individuals as possible with no hope of surviving.
According to the New York City Police Department report on active shooters, 46% of active
shooters are stopped by law enforcement officials, or other bystanders, and 40% of the active

Growing up in the 21st century, it can be very eye opening and intimidating. A majority of
people will start their day by sitting down and watching the news including stories about how
seven just died from a stabbing or another bomb was dropped in the Middle East. As I continue
