Everyday both adults and children play video games. Some people argue that video games have
many negative effects including poor eyesight and inattention. The TED talk by Daphne Bavelier
(2012) discusses some of the current research regarding the effect video games have on your brain.
Bavelier (2012) talks more specifically about the effects of action video games such as Call of

Antoine Watteau s La Perspective (View through the Trees in the Park of Pierre Crozat) uses many
elements of the Rococo style of painting to instill a sense of intimacy. In this painting, members of
the elite society gather unceremoniously in a wooded clearing. The people make casual exchanges
as they mingle in the park. Trees and foliage dominate a majority of the painting. A small white
building can be seen in the background through a clearing in the trees. Watteau uses color,
composition, setting, and pose in the painting to create intimacy.
It is evident through the peoples clothing that these are in fact members of the elite. Both men and
women are clad in expensive, adorned clothing. They sit on the ground in their ornate clothes.
While the clothing appears formal, the event does not.
There is an overt sense of leisure and intimacy established through the social exchanges in this
painting. A man in the foreground is playing a guitar to a lady, which adds a cheery, relaxed
mood. On the right side of the painting, children play on the ground, which shows how this is a
joyful event. While there are many social interactions being made, the people in this painting are
very generalized. Watteau purposely does not paint many of the people s faces to put emphasis on
the landscape and setting.
The setting of La Perspective is most utilized to create intimacy. Set in a park in the middle of the

Disease Defined Cholera is an infection of the small intestine that causes a large amount of watery
diarrhea. Cholera is a bacterial disease (caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae) usually spread
through contaminated water. The bacteria, which are found in fecal contaminated food and water
and in raw or undercooked seafood, produce a toxin that affects the intestines causing diarrhea,
vomiting, and severe fluid and electrolyte loss. This overwhelming dehydration is the outstanding
characteristic of the disease and is the main cause of death. Cholera has a short incubation period

My earliest memory I have is when my parents got divorced when I was five. I remember

Political scientists Wilson and Fiorina both tackle the concepts of party polarization and culture war
through the lens of the 2004 U.S presidential election. In 2016, their musings are, for the most part,
still highly applicable. Neither denies the existence of either a culture war or political polarization.
Rather, their theses differ in the extent to which they apply these terms to the general electorate
rather than to the political elites. Wilson argues that both elites and voters are polarized, a
phenomenon driven by the media, homogenization of political parties, and interest groups.1

I think the audience liked it that way, very straight to the point. The audience of a typical
Shakespeare play has a wide social range. All kinds of people, from ambassadors to apprentices
came to watch them. The audience loved the special use of, and play with language, and the

had a witty comment up their sleeve and did not hesitate to shout a response to the actors on

theory, a true democracy is one that is governed by the people in the form of the rule of the

hours at Ford s Theater in exchange for show tickets. Here Bella meets Wilkes, a famous and

Many times prophecies were made and fulfilled, leading the readers to believe that supernatural
forces God or otherwise were present in the unfolding of the story. When Booth was born, his
mother believed the flames in the fire spelled COUNTRY, and so she believed that he would
have a great effect on America. Also, as a teenager, Booth had a fortune teller predict his future.
When she looked at the may crossed lines on his palms she became worried and predicted he
would die young but famous. Both of these prophecies were fulfilled in Booth s life. At the

supposed fortune actually specifically influenced Booth s life, instead of being signs of divine
future seeing. Also, I believe that Lincoln s dream, aside from being somewhat concerning, was
just a coincidence and was probably caused by the rational long term fear the entire Lincoln family
had of being
