Similarities Between Nepal And America
There are similarities but more differences between Nepal and America. The differentiating
characteristics between Nepal and America have developed due to a different culture, religion,
educational system, rules and regulations and many more. America has been developing more
rapidly than any other countries in the whole world. Whereas, Nepal is still in the toddler phase
and developing slowly. While Nepal is a developing country, America is a developed and
industrialized country. Education that is provided differs from one country to another. For
example, education that is provided in Nepal tremendously differs from the education provided in
America. But they do have some similarities such as especially in high schools both the countries
have a diverse population of students and nonetheless, both countries value academic gain and
learning performance of students, therefore both countries work hard on giving more priorities to
education that is provided in their country. Although Nepal and America do frame up some
similarities such as a diverse population of students in school and colleges and a good enforce on
well education, learning performance and academic gain of students, they however efficiently differ
in students support in various aspects, teaching methods, evaluation system that teacher uses, ways

Viola Twelfth Night
Viola is a very interesting and very likable character in the story Twelfth Night by William
Shakespeare as she really doesn t have any flawed qualities or misfortune happen to her, as her
brother turned out to be alive, she has a big part in the story. Her decision to dress up as a man
really sets the motion of the story s plot, confessions she did not wish to hear were heard from
others and leads to her having conflicts with them and more. What ends up happening in the story
is Viola no longer wants to be Cesario, she wants to be Viola, as conflicts between her first and
second identities have piled up, and she wants none of it anymore. There are many confessions of
lovebut Viola stays true to hers all through the story, not changing her feelings because of some

8th Amendment: Protection for Domestic and Foreign Terrorist
Our forefathers who wrote the Declaration of Independence and served the people from their states
came together to form ideas and write a Constitution that would protect the people, property and
their rights as citizen of the United States. These two documents are what we were founded on. The
simple version of the 8th Amendment, Prohibits the federal government from imposing excessive
bail, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishment inflicted, including torture (8th
Amendment to the United States Constitution). To define torture is an act perpetrated by one...

Testimony coerced through humiliating, degrading treatment would be admissible (How 9 11
Changed the Law, Privacy, Profiling and Free Speech, 2011).
Part of the act was rewritten making soldiers no longer subject to legal prosecution under United
States law for what, before the amendment, was defined as a war crime, such as torture (Wikipedia).
The Patriot Act in 2010 added criminalization of pure speech in furtherance of the non criminal
acts of terrorist groups (How 9 11 changed the Law, Privacy, Profiling and Free Speech, 2011.
The coercion and torturing captured terrorist is needed to protect national security in the war
against terrorism. There are numerous justifications why the coercion or torture of terrorist is
normally a lesser evil than the preventable mass murder of innocent victims (Slater, Summer 2006).
With all the new legislation and measures need for the protection of the American people does
this mean we are going to become as barbaric as a foreign country? Do we really need to torture
people until they are willing to give up information? Do we need to spy on our own people? As
with any additional legislation it gives the government a broader chance of spying on its people
and taking away a right to privacy. Slowly the people s rights are being replaced with the
government s need to control.

Virtue Ethics And Aristotle s Virtue Ethics
Virtue ethics revolves around an individual s character traits, which often times crosses over to
one s career, or in this case engineering. According to Aristotle, if a person has obtained certain
virtues, it will be reflected in their behavior. Engineers have a responsibility to protect the public
from harm, as well as promote the public s wellbeing. Therefore, an engineer must contain several
vital character traits, or virtues, in order to perform their job accordingly. In this paper, virtueethics
will be further evaluated as well as applied to the engineering discipline. In order to understand
Aristotle s virtue ethics, the words eudaimonia and arГЄte must be acknowledged. Eudaimonia is
defined as happiness or flourishing. This state of eudaimonia is achieved by striving for goals in
life, which in turn results in the individual s success and happiness. The individual is always
setting new goals in order to become the best person they can be. ArГЄte, on the other hand, is
defined as a virtue, or what makes something outstanding. According to Aristotle, virtues are a mean
between deficiency and excess. This means that an individual has acquired a virtue when presented
with a situation, the individual preforms... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Aristotle, the four cardinal virtues are prudence, temperance, courage and justice.
Each of these character traits are essential for an individual to become virtuous, in both their
personal and professional life. These traits are formed through practice, and developed throughout
an individual s life experiences. Prudence is defined as having practical judgment, or being
rational. Temperance is containing self control, or control over an individual s behavior. Courage
can be thought of as the ability to face one s fears, and act bravely in a situation. Lastly, justice is
defined as an individual behaving in a fair

Ferris Buellers Day Off Analysis
Ferris Bueller s Day Off was written, produced, and directed by John Hughes. The film was
released on June 11, 1986. It stared the likes of Matthew Broderick (Ferris Bueller), Alan Ruck
(Cameron Frye). Mia Sara (Sloane Peterson), Jeffrey Jones (Ed Rooney), and Jennifer Grey
(Jeanie Bueller). Ferris Bueller s Day Off is about a high school senior, Ferris Bueller, that
pretends to be sick to get a day off from school. He convinces his friend, Cameron Frye, to join
him. They devise a plan to get Ferris girlfriend out of school as well. The story begins with Ferris
lying in bed trying to convince his parents that he is too sick to go to school. He was able to
successfully convince them while getting an evil stare from his sister, Jeanie. Since he does not
have a car Ferris must try and convince his friend, Cameron, to come get him and enjoy the day
off together. The school dean, Ed Rooney, knows Ferris is not sick so calls Ferris s mother who
confirms that he is sick. He tells her that Ferris has nine absences, but on the computer screen the
absences dwindles from nine to two, Ferris changed this from his computer at home. Ferris and
Cameron devise a plan to get Ferris s girlfriend out of school. They need Cameron s dad s Ferrari
to get her out of school and it works flawlessly. The three of them go out and explore the city of
Chicago. Some of the things they did were, eat a fancy restaurant, go to a baseball game, join a

The Controversy In Quantum Physics Circles
Quantum physics is mind bending, counterintuitive, and close to impossible to understand. It s so
complicated that a theory saying our reality is just one of an infinite web of infinite timelines is one
that s actually simpler than what most quantum physicists believe. That neat and tidy explanation is
known as the many worlds interpretation, and it has caused plenty of controversy in physicscircles.
In the 1950s, a student at Princeton University named Hugh Everett III was studying quantum
mechanics. He learned about the Copenhagen interpretation, which says that at the very, very
smallest level what we mean when we say quantum matter exists not just as a particle and not just
as a wave, but in all possible states at once (all of those states ... Show more content on

According to Everett s theory, in this timeline, the object is a particle, but there s another timeline
where it s a wave. Even more baffling, this implies that quantum phenomena aren t the only things
that split the universe into separate timelines. For everything that happens, every action you take or
decide not to take, there are infinite other timelines worlds, if we may where something else took
place. That s the many worlds interpretation of quantum physics. It may not seem like it, but it s
actually simpler than the Copenhagen interpretation it doesn t strike an arbitrary line between the
quantum world and everything else, because everything behaves in the same way. It also removes
randomness from the picture, which helps the math work out nicely.
Not all physicists subscribe to this theory a recent poll found that the majority are Copenhagen all
the way but a growing minority do. Sean Carroll, for one. He explains that many objections to the
theory arise because people come at it from a classical physics point of view. In classical
mechanics...it s quite a bit of work to accommodate extra universes, and you better have a good
reason to justify putting in that work, he writes. That is not what happens in quantum mechanics.
The capacity for describing multiple universes is automatically there. We don t have to add

What Are The Struggles In The Diary Of Anne Frank
Finding joy in life can be a struggle when going through troublesome circumstances, but many are
able to persevere through the support from our family and friends. The Diary of Anne Frank by
Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett describes the life of a Jewish teenager, Anne Frank, while she
is in hiding from an environment that is prejudiced to Jews. Throughout the story, it depicts the
confined conditions Anne must endure in order to stay alive and away from the anti Semitic
government. During the time in which she stays in the Secret Annex, she grows tremendously,
maturing in a multitude of ways. Anne Frankmanages to stay optimistic in spite of the hardships she
often faces through the attachments she creates with the objects and people... Show more content on

The Franks and Van Daans have enshrouded themselves in their annex for several months, but
the Nazis tolerance for Jews has only gotten worse. The deafening, thunderous sounds of war
finally takes a toll on Anne, and one day she wakes up screaming from a nightmare, immediately
seeking the comfort of her father. I m trying. Really I am. Every night I think back over all of the
things I did that day...I have a nicer side, Father... a sweeter, nicer side (247). Anne realizes that
her actions to others have been unkind and inconsiderate. She understands that at times she may
be insensitive, but she tries to make amends, clearly illustrating how much she has matured.
Disclosing those thoughts to her father Whenever the stress and pressure of hiding gets to be too
much, she knows she can always turn to her father. The connection between them is inextricable;
Anne has spent the majority of her life spending time with her father, from the small study
sessions they have to discussing their favorite books. Anne reveals all her concerns and sorrows
to her father, and she relies solely on him to give her advice and listen to her problems. Spending
time conversing with Mr. Frank soothes her worries, and she finds comfort in simply hearing his
wise words. Anne sees her father as a pillar of strength, someone she can lean on when she is
experiencing burdensome tasks. Anne perceives Mr. Frank as calm, logical, and supportive. For
this reason, he becomes Anne s closest confidante, and she completely believes that he will not
harshly criticize her actions, but rather give her carefully thought out guidance. As a result, the
support from her father helps encourage her to stay hopeful for the

The Life Of Muhammad Ali
The death of Muhammad Ali, the former heavyweight champion, triggered a worldwide
outpouring of affection. The former champion died on June 3 at age 74 of shock. Ali had long
suffered from Parkinson s disease, which made the once graceful athlete a prisoner in his own
body. President Obama, who keeps a pair of Ali s gloves on display in his private study, paid
tribute to the late athlete, saying he was a man who fought for us.
Ali was born in the American state of Kentucky in 1942. He took up boxing at the age of 12. Within
only six years, the gifted teenager became Olympic light heavyweight champion and at 22, he
became the world heavyweight champion. Ali was the first boxer to win the heavyweight

Psychological Perspectives of Smoking Essay
Psychological perspectives of smoking
This essay will consider how each of the 5 psychological perspectives explain smoking. I will cover
the psychodynamic, the behaviouristic, the biological, the cognitive and the humanistic approach.
Psychodynamic approach
The psychodynamic approach views behaviour in terms of past childhood experiences, and the
influence of unconscious processes. There are five psychosexual stages in Freud s theory, the first
being the oral stage during which the infant focuses on satisfying hunger orally. Sigmund Freud
believed that during this stage of development the person can become fixated in the oral stage of
development. An infant s pleasure and comfort centres on having things in the mouth during this ...

Ivan Pavlov conducted an experiment where he had surgically implanted tubes into the cheeks of
dogs to monitor the secretion of saliva whilst the dog was eating. (Pavlov, 1902) He noticed that
the dog started to salivate before the food was put in its mouth. He then presented to food to the dog
whilst playing the sound of a metronome, eventually the dog started to salivate when just hearing
the metronome alone. This can be related to smoking using the following model:
Conditioning diagram
Peer groupsbefore conditioningacceptance and happiness
Peer groups + Smokingduring conditioningacceptance and happiness
Smokingafter conditioningacceptance and happiness
One of the main strengths of the behaviourist approach is that it focuses only on behaviour that can
be observed and manipulated. Therefore, this approach has proved very useful in experiments under
laboratory conditions. On the other hand this has been criticized for suggesting that most human
behaviour is mechanical, and that human behaviour is simply the product of stimulus response
behaviours.
The biological approach
The biological approach looks at our genetics to construct a reason why we act the way we do and
why we develop abnormal behaviours. This approach suggests that the reason people smoke is a
biological addiction from a chemical in cigarettes called nicotine. Nicotine is a chemical that alters

Women During The Medieval Era Essay
Women withstood a multitude of limitations in the medieval era. Due to the political, social, and
religious restrictions women encountered, historians neglected to realize that they demonstrated
agency. The female experience is something that has been overlooked until recently. Unfortunately,
without the knowledge of how women found ways to exert their power, we are experiencing a
deficit of knowledge in this period. Through the close examination of the primary sources: The
Gospel of Mary, Dhouda s Liber Manualis, and Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, the creative means of
femaleforce are displayed.
In the Gospel of Mary, circa 120 180 AD, Mary Magdalenedisplays that women exercised agency
by being a vessel of God and finding favor with the Lord. Beginning in the first paragraph of the
work, it states, Andrew and Peter question her veracity and ask why a woman should become a
favorite disciple (The Gospel of Mary 53). This demonstrates that men did not understand why a
woman would be seen as a greater or more trustworthy being themselves as Christ s inoculator.
However, Mary remains humble, and she uses her agency to teach the men. Mary shows her
willingness to enlighten the men when it is stated, Mary answered, What s concealed from you I
ll tell; I saw him in a vision and I told him (The Gospel of Mary 57). This demonstrates Mary s
power over the males. In this situation, she holds knowledge that only she can give to them. This
allows for her to become the individual in

A Brief Look at Pacific Islanders
For this assignment, I chose to write about Pacific Islanders. I am most interested in this particular
cultural group because, from the knowledge that I previously have, my cultural group seems to be
much different from that of Pacific Islanders. Living on a tropical island must have many contrasts
to a culture that consists of landlocked influence, such as mine. I dream of the day that I will be
able to travel to Hawaii or Tahiti, but until then I will only be exploring the different dimensions of
the Pacific Island cultural group in this current assignment. Furthermore, I will begin with a table
summarizing the defining criteria of my chosen cultural group.

Essay On Mercury Pollution
Mercury pollution occurs from industrial sources such as mining, power plants and coal
combustion centers. When mercury is released from the sources, it can travel halfway around
the world before it ever enters into the waterways and contaminates the fish that we then eat.
Through the trade of those fish, people in every continent are at risk for mercury pollution.
Newborns are also at risk of mercury pollution due to the consummation of fish by their mothers,
thousands of babies are at risk every year of impaired motor skills ( Reduce Mercury Pollution ).
In order to reduce the pollutants of mercury we need to implement a policy to clean up sites
already contaminated, limit the amounts discharged into the water and provide consumers on
tips to reduce their exposure to it. My first step in decreasing the amount of mercury is to focus
on the areas that are already contaminated. They would priority since the mercury would have
had time to sit and settle and we would want to clean it up before it causes further harm. Some of
the sites would be cleaned up under the EPA s superfund policy. One example of a site that is
being cleaned up is the Carson River Mercury Site in Nevada. This is the former sites of mills
and mining that have contaminated the soil, waterways and fish over a 50 mile stretch. Nevada
at one time recommended that limited consumption of fish and duck from the river should be in
effect. State and federal actions are being performed in order to excavate and remove the
contaminated soils and they were sent to a mineral resource recovery facility. That action has
already reduced the amount of exposure during the monitoring period and they plan to add a
layer of clean topsoil to reduce the exposure to any mercury soil left behind. They have also
worked in sampling 26 different developments for mercury affects and levels. They are working
on figuring out the cost and benefit of cleaning up the rivers sediment to try to remove the
mercury from the river, wetlands and reservoir. In the meantime short term cleanup will be done in
order to prevent threats to the population( Carson River Mercury Site ). The second step in my
policy to reduce the mercury levels would be to limit the amount of discharge

Should Golf Courses Be Banned
I believe that golf should not be considered a sport and golf courses should stop being built and
here s why. First off, golf takes up to much land and new courses keep being built everywhere.
Golf courses are mostly being built around forests or where wildlife inhabits the surrounding area.
You might think that oh, only small creatures such as squirrels, birds, and many other creatures
live around and when you build these useless courses you are ruining their homes which could
have taken months, maybe even years to build. Not only are you damaging wildlife you are

Character Analysis Of The Rocket Boys Failure In October...
In order to achieve success, a person may need to explode a fence or two. In October Sky, the
Rocket Boys did exactly that. The boys failures were frustrating, however it was those failures that
led them to them succeed throughout the novel. Thus, an extensive theme in October Sky is that if
a personage push through the pain and work hard enough, his or hers dreams will come true, as
illustrated by the Rocket Boyshard work over the course of 3 years in perfecting their rockets,
showing that any person can be successful in his or her aspirations. Sonny worked hard in many

very grueling, long process, After five days of digging, we were finally rewarded with the sound
of a pick hitting cast iron. When we finished uncovering the pipe, we looked like the mud men of

a tough situation, sacrificing time and effort so they could earn money for rockets. This also
highlights the Rocket Boys hard work put into finding scrap iron, even though at first it seemed

What Is The Theme Of Killing Lizards
Killing lizards
All children search for attention, love and acceptance through their childhood. If a child doesn t
receive attention, love and acceptance, in which way can they find the trust to be themselves? They
will be stuck in an uncertain world, where they have no trust in themselves and difficult to evolve
their identity.
In the short story, killing lizards, the main charachter is the 12 year old English boy, Gavin. Gavin
s family moved to Africa to years before the story takes place. Gavin seems to be like any other
common boy, but the reality is something else. Gavin misses attention from his mother, and wishes
that she could pay more attention to him. He is especially jealous of his sister Amanda because he
believes that she grabs all the attention from their mother. That is very clear in this quote. (Page 3,

reality. These fantasies are obviously because of a strong Oedipus complex between the child
and his mother, which is evidently seen in the way he wants people to think of them in his
fantasy. (Page 2, lines 31 34: People would look at them in the street and whisper, I don t know

attention and love enough, and it is clearly seen in this quote. (Page 3, lines 56 61: Oh. Well I m

John Locke s Identification Of Natural Rights Essay
Locke s identification of natural rights John Locke, one of the founders of our great country, had
three natural rights that he believed in life, liberty, and estate. These natural rights still exist today
within the American law. John Locke s identification of natural rights fits well with American law
because John Lockehad a big influence on the shaping of American government and laws. The
extent of libertythat each American has is still the same as when Locke came up with this natural
right. In America, people still get to make their own decisions on their religious views, what
lifestyle they want to live, their political views, and how they act. American people still have the
freedom of liberty to do what they want and make their own choices. As well as liberty American
people all have the natural right to life and that has not changed from Locke s identification of

Anthony Mulcahy
Introduction:
Swimming upstream is a film directed by Russell Mulcahy which was based in the early 1950 s.
The film was produced in 2003 and is based on a boy named Tony Fingleton a young man from a
troubled family who found the inner strength to become a champion. Always overshadowed in
his father s eyes by his brothers. The only way Tony feels about winning his father s heart is by
his extraordinary swimming talent. Tony and his father (Harold snr) have a very unhealthy
relationship as Tony struggled to get his father s approval or even be an applaud for doing
something good in his life.
The purpose of my film was to tell my audience about a boy who enjoyed playing the piano,
reading books and being successful at school. While trying to ... Show more content on

This has made the audience feel proud of such a young talented man Tony has turned into who
doesn t get much faith and love from his father after trying his hardest to do something right to
gain his father s love and blessing. Russell has developed the character of Tony by expressing his
problems with his father throughout the film from Harold Snr disliking him playing the piano
to getting beaten but by his older brother Harold Jnr to then achieving something but still not
getting any type of applaud from his father. Harold Snr then separated Tony from his brother/best
friend John when it came to swimming practice which pulled Tony and John further away from
each other as they were both each other s support when it came to competition shown in the
scene where Tony was looking around for John to do their handshake they did before every race
which then made him not perform to his best and made him loose to his brother. Tony then went
further in his swimming as he was very talented. As Tony went to say goodbye to his father
before heading off to Harvard university Harold Snr didn t have an interest in saying goodbye
he basically just shrugged him off, Tony didn t know what to do as he had tried everything to
just get his father to love him for who he was and what he achieves. This developed Tony into
more of a stronger hearted boy who grew up to be a champion in the rest of his families eyes

The Economic Environment in Chile Essay
1.0Introduction
Chile is located in South America and is one of the longest countries in the world. It is located
south of Peru and west of Bolivia and Argentina with a population of about 17.46 million people.
Chile is quite well known for international trade. It was ranked 18th out of the 49 most competitive
economies in the world by the 1996 World Competitiveness Report which was publishes by the
International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne Switzerland. The official
language of Chile is Spanish. However, many well educated business persons speak English. It is an

The goal of Alvernian should be to enlarge its business and venture out to become a global
company. Chile is a great place to enter the international market for Alvernian leisure and gym
wear. As a global company, Alvernia should aim to create a single company culture and processes
that are used globally to create the most efficient global organisation. Benefits of going global
include a better economy of scale and diversity in markets means more financial stability, a
competitive advantage for a multinational company, new approaches which can be further utilized.

3.2Operations Management
Operations Management refers to the management of the design, execution and control of
operations which then turns resources into tangible goods and / or services. Global sourcing is a
major part of operations management. Businesses should try to find the cost efficient location to
manufacture their goods. If manufacturing, delivery and wages of employees are cheaper in a
certain country, operation facilities should be located at the country to save money. Operations
management is also in charge of researching and developing new ideas to sell.
3.3Finance Management
One thing that should be considered before venturing into the international business market is
finances. International business involves trading and earning profits through the exchange of
foreign currency. Chile s currency is in pesos while the

Examples Of Loyalty In The Killer Angels
Loyalty in The Killer Angels Loyalty is faithful adherence to a sovereign, government, leader or
cause according to Dictionary.com . Sometimes loyalty is good and sometimes loyalty is bad.
For example good loyalty is when People celebrate their country s independence. However bad
loyalty is when Nazi Germany Kill the Jewish people and Normal people let it happen. In the
book The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara, The loyalty between Longstreet and Lee is a bad
thing that make Lee and the South lose the war. Longstreet is loyal to Lee his General. In

Peeta Mellark Vs. Kat-Niss Everdeen
The two main characters of my novel, The Hunger Games, are Peeta Mellark, and Kat niss
Everdeen, are two characters that particularly have a significant number of similarities, while
still having a distinct amount of differences. Katniss is 16 years old, and she has long black hair,
that is usually in a braid because of the games. She has grey eyes, and an olive skin tone. These
physical traits are common in the Seam, which is the lower class part of District 12 where
Katniss lives. Since she is only 5 5 , she isn t very tall, but she is thin compared to the other
tributes. Katniss is light for her age, making her one of the smallest tributes in the games. Because

Peeta is also 16 years old in the book. He has blond hair, a lighter skin tone than Katniss, and has
blue eyes. Peeta has a stocky bodyshape, and can lift very heavy weights (as he does back at
home too since his father owns a bakery). He isn t too tall either, he is 5 7 , making him
noticeably shorter than one of the most dangerous, if not, the most dangerous trib utes, Cato,
who is 6 2 . Peeta lives with both of his parents, and they run a bakery shop back in District 12.
This is the reason why he can lift 100 pound weights so easily. Since his dad owns a bakery, Peeta
and his family live in the higher class part of District 12. Peeta s really doesn t have a weapon of
choice, but some of his advantages are that he can lift heavy weights, can camouflage
exceptionally well, and that he can somewhat use knives to his advantage. Peeta could also
survive in the Hunger Games because he is also smart, a very good actor, and partic ularly
manipulative. An example of this is at the end of chapter 11 when Katniss finds out that Peeta is in
an alliance with the career tributes. The career tributes are on a team in the begin ning, and when
they have killed everyone, they fight each other. Only the strongest tributes are the career tributes
because they have been trained to be in the arena since they were born. Peeta is with the careers at
the beginning of the games. At the end of

Andromache s Lamentations In The Iliad Analysis
Throughout the Iliad lamentations provide eulogies of heroic figures, which praise their past deeds
and individual traits, often through the expression of a speaker s personal feelings and attachment.
When Hektor dies, however, Andromache delivers lamentations that deviate from the trend of other
lamentations in the Iliad. Andromache s lamentations are future oriented instead of being rooted in
the past, and deliver narratives about the future of Hektor s family and the Trojans rather than
displaying words of effusive emotion. Moreover, Andromache employs antithesis, a technique that
makes her lamentations more complicated and meaningful than the lamentations of others Briseis,
Helen, or Hekabe, for instance. With these unique... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here, Homer s diction is composed of successive terms that possess feminine and domestic
qualities. Compounded with Andromache s innocence, the diction overturns the violent and
gruesome atmosphere of previous battle scenes and brings in warm, domestic serenity. In later
lines, however, the martial qualities are revived and directly contrast with this domesticity.
Andromache runs out of the house like a raving woman with pulsing heart, just like a soldier
whose brother or a close friend had died (22.460 461). When she comes up the wall and sees
Achilles dragging Hektor around, she faints, and this scene even more resembles the death of a
soldier, particularly Patroklos:
The darkness of night misted over the eyes of Andromache.
She fell backward, and grasped the life breath from her, and far off threw from her head the shining
gear that ordered her headdress, the diadem and the cap, and the holding band woven together, and
the circlet, which Aphrodite the golden once had given her (22.466 470).
Not only Homer uses the expression darkness of night misting over the eyes, a common phrase
used to describe the deaths of soldiers, but also Homer likens the way Andromache falls
backward to a dead soldier getting disarmed. In the scene when Hektor kills Patroklos, Patroklos s
iron shod, far shadowing spear, shield, and corselet drop to the ground, one by one (16.801 804).
Similarly, here, Andromache s diadem,

reasons is he told a lie to the iguana and he stormed off. Also it was the monkey who killed the

the mosquito told a lie to the iguana, and it caused him to put sticks in his ears and storm off. The

they often do not know they hold these suppositions. If we understand the way in which they think

After Otto had received the imperial crown at Rome (2 February, 962) Liutprand was often

After the death of the pope, Leo VIII, Liutprand again went to Rome with Bishop Otgar of

Skinner created two types of associative learning processes. One is operant conditioning, the
other is classical conditioning. Operant conditioning is learning in which when followed by a
reinforcer or receded by a punisher or negative reinforcer a behavior is strengthened. Classical
conditioning is learned through a process. That process is through a series of steps which are,
acquisition, stimulus generalization, stimulus discrimination, extinction, and spontaneous
recovery. It is depicted through a sort of formula that will create a result, it is before
conditioning, during conditioning, and after conditioning. It is how a stimulus will react to a
certain response that is repeated over numerous times. People that will benefit from this are
people with former drug addictions, phobias, the fighting diseases in the body, parents who use
this for their children etc. An example would be a person who is struggling with drug addiction.
Before conditioning they would see drugs as a form of pleasure, but if during conditioning you
put the drug in front of a person and they go to use it you can give them a slight electrical shock,
and to continue and much as they do. By the time it is over and it is after conditioning any time
that person sees a drug in front of them they will think about the shock they received in the past,
which will ultimately result in them having no desire to use the drug and it will no longer give
them pleasure as it had did before. You can use this method in many different ways for many
different situations it can bring numerous different ways of relief to a person if they are in pain or

In the past years until now, violence among children has increased dramatically. Cases have been

younger ages? Does, the media have to do something with the increase in violence of young
children, the fact that the media has more violence in it than any other point in history? It could be
a combination of things, including work, single parents, peer pressures, etc. The true concern is that
the media entertains children with violent shows, which are aimed at them. Some networks agreed

Differences Between The Bodhisattva In The Davis Museum

Colonization Advantages And Disadvantages
However, the economic advantages to the colonist have been argued to come at the cost of the
economies of the colonies. Those that argue that colonisation was economically detrimental to the
colonies often point to the short term impact of deindustrialisation and the long term impacts of
inequality and the inability of colonies to pursue development policies, that the European powers
had on their colonies. Deindustrialisation of colonies was caused by the industrialisation of the
European powers which shifted the colonies comparative advantage from manufacturing to
agriculture. In addition to this, colonies had to export primary products to pay for capital imports
form their metropolitan state (Clark, 2007, p.315), further shifting their comparative advantage
towards agriculture as they increased their productivity in the primary sector to pay for more

Minnesota to Mica, Arizona. Her fellow classmates thought she was weird and goofy because she

The story took setting mostly at the high school. Stargirl was a junior most of the story. There were

story is taken place in the past in almost the whole story. You actually don t know the story is being

Staffing is the process of acquiring, deploying, and retaining a workforce of sufficient quantity and

The complexity of work and projects being done in organizations today are becoming overly
complex both in terms of scope and reach. This spans over multiple geographies, time zones,
cultures and teams. The work force today has now become diversified with employees coming from
countries such as Argentina, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, shortages of labor, both quantity and quality, threaten growth and even survival and the
ability of individual managers to effectively run their work units.
Smith (Simth et al., 2011) avers that employers today need to be able to fit to the employees
mould rather than the employee fitting into the employer s mould. This is driven by the belief that
employees are different and need to be managed as individuals rather than a one size fits all
approach as had been in the past. Every individual has different aspirations, potential, needs and
growth expectations; and it falls on the employers of today to acknowledge that and make that
change over to their human resource management practices.
Eleveld (Eleveld, 2011) brings to the attention that highly skilled and experienced professionals
who will be too expensive to hire, can be brought on board as flexible employees or contractors.
These flexible employees will have different motivations of working with organizations and will
have different priorities and hence need to be managed differently from the full time employees. It
will be to the organization s disadvantage if these choose to ignore the value these employees can
bring onto the table. The rising costs and business uncertainty is also forcing companies to scale
back their permanent hiring plans and look at flexible employees and contingent workers to
perform those responsibilities. Partridge (Partridge, 2010) mentions

Franz Joseph Haydn s Symphony No. 94 Symphony
When listening to Classical music I think of rich, precise, high quality, and pristine music that
either gives you relaxing feeling or gives you that want to dance feeling. One of my favorite
composers of this era was Franz Joseph Haydn and he incorporated both of these feelings in his
arrangements.
Franz Joseph Haydn was born in 1732 in Austria. He struggled early in life and worked as a
freelance musician. He began his career singing soprano at Saint Stephen s Cathedral and later
started giving keyboard lessons, playing in street bands, and singing or playing violin and organ at
three different churches every Sunday (Wright, C. M., 2014, p.159, para. 2). In 1779, Haydn
signed a contract with Prince Nikolas and for thirty years he wrote ... Show more content on

94 Surprise Symphony. The genre of this musical composition is a symphony and it consists of a
three movement minuet and trio. The piece has a stately dance feel to it with a very solid rhythm,
nice melody, and a rich full sound. It is written in ternary form and the entire minuet trio minuet
forms an ABA arrangement (Wright, C.M., 2014, p. 166). The divisions between sections of the
piece are well indicated and recognized by a change of theme, instrumentation, and volume. I really
liked the way the timpani helped accentuate the beat and help give the piece a driving tempo at
times. The woodwinds and strings also flowed well together as if telling a story. Some of the things
that stuck out to me and make this an enjoyable symphony were the rich full sound of the orchestra
instruments along with the bouncy rhythm and tempo. While listening to the arrangement I could
hardly sit still, the music just made me want to move with it. It gave me the mental image of a
large stately ballroom with numerous dancers dancing about. I also liked the way different sections
of the arrangement were easily recognized by a change in volume and

Columbus And Hook s Illusion Of Power
Columbus and Hook had a tyrannical illusion of power as well. Most notably Columbus upon
landing on islands in the Caribbean, he named each for instance, San Salvador, Santa Maria and,
Fernandina were all islands Christopher Columbus named although they already had names and
didn t belong to him nor the Spanish monarchy. These actions proved themselves dangerous to
the Natives a few years after Columbus arrival, as they were forced into slavery, Those left
behind were forced to search for gold in mines and work on plantations... (History.com). Slavery
and other mistreatments being allowed in the islands by Columbus is yet another example of
illusion of power, he holds no real authority but is running the islands as if they re his. Similarly,...

Hook demands respect from shipmates although he continually disrespects the crew throughout
Peter Pan as well as Hook. Both men use their illusion of power to strike fear into the people
around them, for example Captain Hook s shipmates are afraid of him so they blindly follow
him without contradicting his statements. In particular, Mr. Smee who plays the role of Hook s
assistant, is always nervous when Hook calls for Smee s attention. Correspondingly, Bartolome
de las Casas wrote in The devastation of the Indies: Hispaniola on page 42, ... [ Indians]
concealed their wives and children and still others fled to the mountains to avoid the terrible
transactions... , this alludes to the terrible horror that was struck deep into the hearts of all Natives
on the Islands with Spanish soldiers. The illusion of power these men possessed lead them to be
rude to their shipmates and others as a sign of superiority. Captain Hook is especially rude to his
shipmates who he would occasionally shoot or injure in both, Peter Pan and Hook. Christopher
Columbus however, is rude and mistreats those who he believes are below him; the

Attachment is a deep and enduring emotional bond that connects one person to another across
time and space McLeod (2009), as a core component of social and emotional development, the
necessity and role of caregivers is a heavily researched area. Theories differ on the impairment that
a crippled or complete lack of attachment causes to an infant in terms of social, emotional or
intellectual development. These theories range from Harlow s unethical work with infant rhesus
monkeys to Chisholm s study of Romanian orphans, the work remains relevant however in order

Within an ideal attachment relationship as suggested by Mary Ainsworth (1963, 1967) in the
strange situation procedure, the caregiver acts as a secure base where to the infant can return
during exploration of the environment if the infant feels insecure or fearful. John Bowlby (1969,
1988) proposed the maternal deprivation hypothesis based on the belief that infants are biologically
predisposed to form attachments to a caregiver, founded upon the caregivers ability to respond
appropriately to the infants needs. The maternal deprivation hypothesis proposes long term damage
due to absence of attachment with a caregiver during the critical or sensitive period, within the first
two to three years of life. Caregivers responses to emotional cues through such things as affect
attunement, in which the care giver is sensitive and attuned to the infants emotions, as well as the
care givers own representation of their childhood experiences, as indicated by such thing such as
AAI are known to predict infant attachment to a caregiver. The AAI or Adult Attachment Interview

The differentiating characteristics between Nepal and America have developed due to a different culture, religion, educational system, rules and regulations and many more. America has been developing more rapidly than any other countries in the whole world. Whereas, Nepal is still in the toddler phase and developing slowly. While Nepal is a developing country, America is a developed and industrialized country. Education that is provided differs from one country to another. For example, education that is provided in Nepal tremendously differs from the education provided in America. But they do have some similarities such as especially in high schools both the countries have a diverse population of students and nonetheless, both countries value academic gain and learning performance of students, therefore both countries work hard on giving more priorities to education that is provided in their country. Although Nepal and America do frame up some similarities such as a diverse population of students in school and colleges and a good enforce on well education, learning performance and academic gain of students, they however efficiently differ in students support in various aspects, teaching methods, evaluation system that teacher uses, ways of... • 5. Virtue Ethics And Aristotle s Virtue Ethics Virtue ethics revolves around an individual s character traits, which often times crosses over to one s career, or in this case engineering. According to Aristotle, if a person has obtained certain virtues, it will be reflected in their behavior. Engineers have a responsibility to protect the public from harm, as well as promote the public s wellbeing. Therefore, an engineer must contain several vital character traits, or virtues, in order to perform their job accordingly. In this paper, virtueethics will be further evaluated as well as applied to the engineering discipline. In order to understand Aristotle s virtue ethics, the words eudaimonia and arГЄte must be acknowledged. Eudaimonia is defined as happiness or flourishing. This state of eudaimonia is achieved by striving for goals in life, which in turn results in the individual s success and happiness. The individual is always setting new goals in order to become the best person they can be. ArГЄte, on the other hand, is defined as a virtue, or what makes something outstanding. According to Aristotle, virtues are a mean between deficiency and excess. This means that an individual has acquired a virtue when presented with a situation, the individual preforms... • 7. The Controversy In Quantum Physics Circles Quantum physics is mind bending, counterintuitive, and close to impossible to understand. It s so complicated that a theory saying our reality is just one of an infinite web of infinite timelines is one that s actually simpler than what most quantum physicists believe. That neat and tidy explanation is known as the many worlds interpretation, and it has caused plenty of controversy in physicscircles. In the 1950s, a student at Princeton University named Hugh Everett III was studying quantum mechanics. He learned about the Copenhagen interpretation, which says that at the very, very smallest level what we mean when we say quantum matter exists not just as a particle and not just as a wave, but in all possible states at once (all of those states ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Everett s theory, in this timeline, the object is a particle, but there s another timeline where it s a wave. Even more baffling, this implies that quantum phenomena aren t the only things that split the universe into separate timelines. For everything that happens, every action you take or decide not to take, there are infinite other timelines worlds, if we may where something else took place. That s the many worlds interpretation of quantum physics. It may not seem like it, but it s actually simpler than the Copenhagen interpretation it doesn t strike an arbitrary line between the quantum world and everything else, because everything behaves in the same way. It also removes randomness from the picture, which helps the math work out nicely. Not all physicists subscribe to this theory a recent poll found that the majority are Copenhagen all the way but a growing minority do. Sean Carroll, for one. He explains that many objections to the theory arise because people come at it from a classical physics point of view. In classical mechanics...it s quite a bit of work to accommodate extra universes, and you better have a good reason to justify putting in that work, he writes. That is not what happens in quantum mechanics. The capacity for describing multiple universes is automatically there. We don t have to add ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Every night I think back over all of the things I did that day...I have a nicer side, Father... a sweeter, nicer side (247). Anne realizes that her actions to others have been unkind and inconsiderate. She understands that at times she may be insensitive, but she tries to make amends, clearly illustrating how much she has matured. Disclosing those thoughts to her father Whenever the stress and pressure of hiding gets to be too much, she knows she can always turn to her father. There are five psychosexual stages in Freud s theory, the first being the oral stage during which the infant focuses on satisfying hunger orally. Therefore, this approach has proved very useful in experiments under laboratory conditions. On the other hand this has been criticized for suggesting that most human behaviour is mechanical, and that human behaviour is simply the product of stimulus response behaviours. The biological approach The biological approach looks at our genetics to construct a reason why we act the way we do and why we develop abnormal behaviours. This approach suggests that the reason people smoke is a biological addiction from a chemical in cigarettes called nicotine. Nicotine is a chemical that alters ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Women During The Medieval Era Essay Women withstood a multitude of limitations in the medieval era. Due to the political, social, and religious restrictions women encountered, historians neglected to realize that they demonstrated agency. The female experience is something that has been overlooked until recently. Unfortunately, without the knowledge of how women found ways to exert their power, we are experiencing a deficit of knowledge in this period. Through the close examination of the primary sources: The Gospel of Mary, Dhouda s Liber Manualis, and Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, the creative means of femaleforce are displayed. In the Gospel of Mary, circa 120 180 AD, Mary Magdalenedisplays that women exercised agency by being a vessel of God and finding favor with the Lord. Beginning in the first paragraph of the work, it states, Andrew and Peter question her veracity and ask why a woman should become a favorite disciple (The Gospel of Mary 53). This demonstrates that men did not understand why a woman would be seen as a greater or more trustworthy being themselves as Christ s inoculator. However, Mary remains humble, and she uses her agency to teach the men. Mary shows her willingness to enlighten the men when it is stated, Mary answered, What s concealed from you I ll tell; I saw him in a vision and I told him (The Gospel of Mary 57). This demonstrates Mary s power over the males. In this situation, she holds knowledge that only she can give to them. This allows for her to become the individual in ... • 14. Essay On Mercury Pollution Mercury pollution occurs from industrial sources such as mining, power plants and coal combustion centers. When mercury is released from the sources, it can travel halfway around the world before it ever enters into the waterways and contaminates the fish that we then eat. Through the trade of those fish, people in every continent are at risk for mercury pollution. Newborns are also at risk of mercury pollution due to the consummation of fish by their mothers, thousands of babies are at risk every year of impaired motor skills ( Reduce Mercury Pollution ). In order to reduce the pollutants of mercury we need to implement a policy to clean up sites already contaminated, limit the amounts discharged into the water and provide consumers on tips to reduce their exposure to it. My first step in decreasing the amount of mercury is to focus on the areas that are already contaminated. They would priority since the mercury would have had time to sit and settle and we would want to clean it up before it causes further harm. Some of the sites would be cleaned up under the EPA s superfund policy. One example of a site that is being cleaned up is the Carson River Mercury Site in Nevada. This is the former sites of mills and mining that have contaminated the soil, waterways and fish over a 50 mile stretch. Nevada at one time recommended that limited consumption of fish and duck from the river should be in effect. State and federal actions are being performed in order to excavate and remove the contaminated soils and they were sent to a mineral resource recovery facility. That action has already reduced the amount of exposure during the monitoring period and they plan to add a layer of clean topsoil to reduce the exposure to any mercury soil left behind. They have also worked in sampling 26 different developments for mercury affects and levels. They are working on figuring out the cost and benefit of cleaning up the rivers sediment to try to remove the mercury from the river, wetlands and reservoir. In the meantime short term cleanup will be done in order to prevent threats to the population( Carson River Mercury Site ). The second step in my policy to reduce the mercury levels would be to limit the amount of discharge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The film was produced in 2003 and is based on a boy named Tony Fingleton a young man from a troubled family who found the inner strength to become a champion. Always overshadowed in his father s eyes by his brothers. The only way Tony feels about winning his father s heart is by his extraordinary swimming talent. Tony and his father (Harold snr) have a very unhealthy relationship as Tony struggled to get his father s approval or even be an applaud for doing something good in his life. Harold Snr then separated Tony from his brother/best friend John when it came to swimming practice which pulled Tony and John further away from each other as they were both each other s support when it came to competition shown in the scene where Tony was looking around for John to do their handshake they did before every race which then made him not perform to his best and made him loose to his brother. Tony then went further in his swimming as he was very talented. As Tony went to say goodbye to his father before heading off to Harvard university Harold Snr didn t have an interest in saying goodbye he basically just shrugged him off, Tony didn t know what to do as he had tried everything to just get his father to love him for who he was and what he achieves. Kat-Niss Everdeen The two main characters of my novel, The Hunger Games, are Peeta Mellark, and Kat niss Everdeen, are two characters that particularly have a significant number of similarities, while still having a distinct amount of differences. Katniss is 16 years old, and she has long black hair, that is usually in a braid because of the games. She has grey eyes, and an olive skin tone. These physical traits are common in the Seam, which is the lower class part of District 12 where Katniss lives. Andromache s Lamentations In The Iliad Analysis Throughout the Iliad lamentations provide eulogies of heroic figures, which praise their past deeds and individual traits, often through the expression of a speaker s personal feelings and attachment. When Hektor dies, however, Andromache delivers lamentations that deviate from the trend of other lamentations in the Iliad. Andromache s lamentations are future oriented instead of being rooted in the past, and deliver narratives about the future of Hektor s family and the Trojans rather than displaying words of effusive emotion. Moreover, Andromache employs antithesis, a technique that makes her lamentations more complicated and meaningful than the lamentations of others Briseis, Helen, or Hekabe, for instance. With these unique... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here, Homer s diction is composed of successive terms that possess feminine and domestic qualities. Compounded with Andromache s innocence, the diction overturns the violent and gruesome atmosphere of previous battle scenes and brings in warm, domestic serenity. In later lines, however, the martial qualities are revived and directly contrast with this domesticity. Andromache runs out of the house like a raving woman with pulsing heart, just like a soldier whose brother or a close friend had died (22.460 461). When she comes up the wall and sees Achilles dragging Hektor around, she faints, and this scene even more resembles the death of a soldier, particularly Patroklos: The darkness of night misted over the eyes of Andromache. She fell backward, and grasped the life breath from her, and far off threw from her head the shining gear that ordered her headdress, the diadem and the cap, and the holding band woven together, and the circlet, which Aphrodite the golden once had given her (22.466 470). Not only Homer uses the expression darkness of night misting over the eyes, a common phrase used to describe the deaths of soldiers, but also Homer likens the way Andromache falls backward to a dead soldier getting disarmed. That process is through a series of steps which are, acquisition, stimulus generalization, stimulus discrimination, extinction, and spontaneous recovery. It is depicted through a sort of formula that will create a result, it is before conditioning, during conditioning, and after conditioning. It is how a stimulus will react to a certain response that is repeated over numerous times. People that will benefit from this are people with former drug addictions, phobias, the fighting diseases in the body, parents who use this for their children etc. An example would be a person who is struggling with drug addiction. Before conditioning they would see drugs as a form of pleasure, but if during conditioning you put the drug in front of a person and they go to use it you can give them a slight electrical shock, and to continue and much as they do. By the time it is over and it is after conditioning any time that person sees a drug in front of them they will think about the shock they received in the past, which will ultimately result in them having no desire to use the drug and it will no longer give them pleasure as it had did before. Those that argue that colonisation was economically detrimental to the colonies often point to the short term impact of deindustrialisation and the long term impacts of inequality and the inability of colonies to pursue development policies, that the European powers had on their colonies. Deindustrialisation of colonies was caused by the industrialisation of the European powers which shifted the colonies comparative advantage from manufacturing to agriculture. Thus, shortages of labor, both quantity and quality, threaten growth and even survival and the ability of individual managers to effectively run their work units. Smith (Simth et al., 2011) avers that employers today need to be able to fit to the employees mould rather than the employee fitting into the employer s mould. This is driven by the belief that employees are different and need to be managed as individuals rather than a one size fits all approach as had been in the past. Every individual has different aspirations, potential, needs and growth expectations; and it falls on the employers of today to acknowledge that and make that change over to their human resource management practices. Eleveld (Eleveld, 2011) brings to the attention that highly skilled and experienced professionals who will be too expensive to hire, can be brought on board as flexible employees or contractors. These flexible employees will have different motivations of working with organizations and will have different priorities and hence need to be managed differently from the full time employees. It will be to the organization s disadvantage if these choose to ignore the value these employees can bring onto the table. The rising costs and business uncertainty is also forcing companies to scale back their permanent hiring plans and look at flexible employees and contingent workers to perform those responsibilities. • 41. Franz Joseph Haydn s Symphony No. 94 Symphony When listening to Classical music I think of rich, precise, high quality, and pristine music that either gives you relaxing feeling or gives you that want to dance feeling. One of my favorite composers of this era was Franz Joseph Haydn and he incorporated both of these feelings in his arrangements. Franz Joseph Haydn was born in 1732 in Austria. He struggled early in life and worked as a freelance musician. He began his career singing soprano at Saint Stephen s Cathedral and later started giving keyboard lessons, playing in street bands, and singing or playing violin and organ at three different churches every Sunday (Wright, C. M., 2014, p.159, para. 2). In 1779, Haydn signed a contract with Prince Nikolas and for thirty years he wrote ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 94 Surprise Symphony. The genre of this musical composition is a symphony and it consists of a three movement minuet and trio. The piece has a stately dance feel to it with a very solid rhythm, nice melody, and a rich full sound. It is written in ternary form and the entire minuet trio minuet forms an ABA arrangement (Wright, C.M., 2014, p. 166). The divisions between sections of the piece are well indicated and recognized by a change of theme, instrumentation, and volume. I really liked the way the timpani helped accentuate the beat and help give the piece a driving tempo at times. The woodwinds and strings also flowed well together as if telling a story. Some of the things that stuck out to me and make this an enjoyable symphony were the rich full sound of the orchestra instruments along with the bouncy rhythm and tempo. While listening to the arrangement I could hardly sit still, the music just made me want to move with it. It gave me the mental image of a large stately ballroom with numerous dancers dancing about. I also liked the way different sections of the arrangement were easily recognized by a change in volume and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most notably Columbus upon landing on islands in the Caribbean, he named each for instance, San Salvador, Santa Maria and, Fernandina were all islands Christopher Columbus named although they already had names and didn t belong to him nor the Spanish monarchy. Both men use their illusion of power to strike fear into the people around them, for example Captain Hook s shipmates are afraid of him so they blindly follow him without contradicting his statements. In particular, Mr. Smee who plays the role of Hook s assistant, is always nervous when Hook calls for Smee s attention. Correspondingly, Bartolome de las Casas wrote in The devastation of the Indies: Hispaniola on page 42, ... [ Indians] concealed their wives and children and still others fled to the mountains to avoid the terrible transactions... , this alludes to the terrible horror that was struck deep into the hearts of all Natives on the Islands with Spanish soldiers. The illusion of power these men possessed lead them to be rude to their shipmates and others as a sign of superiority. Captain Hook is especially rude to his shipmates who he would occasionally shoot or injure in both, Peter Pan and Hook. Christopher Columbus however, is rude and mistreats those who he believes are below him; the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Attachment is a deep and enduring emotional bond that connects one person to another across time and space McLeod (2009), as a core component of social and emotional development, the necessity and role of caregivers is a heavily researched area. Theories differ on the impairment that a crippled or complete lack of attachment causes to an infant in terms of social, emotional or intellectual development. These theories range from Harlow s unethical work with infant rhesus monkeys to Chisholm s study of Romanian orphans, the work remains relevant however in order to be aware of how to support or setback the deleterious affects that studies appear to be congruent on occur in infants of abuse or that have been abandoned. Within an ideal attachment relationship as suggested by Mary Ainsworth (1963, 1967) in the strange situation procedure, the caregiver acts as a secure base where to the infant can return during exploration of the environment if the infant feels insecure or fearful. John Bowlby (1969, 1988) proposed the maternal deprivation hypothesis based on the belief that infants are biologically predisposed to form attachments to a caregiver, founded upon the caregivers ability to respond appropriately to the infants needs. The maternal deprivation hypothesis proposes long term damage due to absence of attachment with a caregiver during the critical or sensitive period, within the first two to three years of life. Caregivers responses to emotional cues through such things as affect attunement, in which the care giver is sensitive and attuned to the infants emotions, as well as the care givers own representation of their childhood experiences, as indicated by such thing such as AAI are known to predict infant attachment to a caregiver.
