Comparison of Mexico and Brazil Essay examples
Brazil and Mexico are both the giants of their geographic realms (de Blij and Muller 219,254).
Mexico constitutes an entire geographic region of Middle America (200). The country of Brazil is
also considered a single region in South America (239). Both of these regions have very large
populations in comparison to the other regions of their realms. Mexicos current population of 102
million people has more than doubled in size since 1970 (219). Brazil s estimated population is
currently near 167 million people (254). The populations of both regions are becoming
increasingly more urban in character. At least seventy four percent of Mexico s population resides
in cities or towns (220). Similarly in Brazil, eighty percent of the population... Show more content

67 million Brazilians can trace their ancestries to European, African, and Amerindian bloodlines. A
slim majority of Brazilians are of European decent. These people are the ancestors of immigrants
from Eastern Europe, Portugal, Germany, and Italy. Brazil also has the largest population of
Japanese outside of Japan (254).
Despite the differences in their ethnicity, the populations of these regions are both highly
urbanized. In Brazil eighty percent of the population resides in urban areas (Microsoft Encarta).
Nearly seventy five percent of Mexico s people are urban dwellers (de Blij and Muller 220). The
largest cities of these regions are Mexico City, Mexico (221) and Sao Paulo, Brazil (259). Mexico
City is the home of a little more than twenty five percent of Mexico s total population. Mexico
City s population grows by amazing amounts each year; the city will probably soon be the most
populated city on Earth. Right now the population of Mexico City is twenty eight million (221).
Sao Paulo in Brazil is also growing remarkably fast. Presently the population of Sao Paulo is
Twenty three million Sao Paulo s population has more than doubled in the past thirty years (259).
Sao Paulo and Mexico City are facing some of the same problems. Sao Paulo and Mexico City are
both marked by areas of great economic contrasts. Mexico City has more than five hundred areas
that can be called slums.

Milgram s Research On Obedience Essay
Why did Milgram decide to study this topic? What was the motivating factor/event that inspired
Milgram to research obedience?
The main reason that Milgram decided to study the topic of obedience was to better understand
the extreme inhumane conditions that Jews faced during the holocaust at the hands of German
soldiers. Over the 12 year period between the early 1930 s through the mid 1940 s millions of Jews
died in death camps run by Germans. Since Milgram himself was of Jewish descent, Milgram
wanted to know how and why soldiers obeyed orders to kill innocent people.
What was hypothesized? You may not find an explicit hypothesis in the article, but do your best to
write a summary of what Milgram thought he might find when conducting the experiment.
In this experiment Milgram hypothesized, how far participants were willing to carry out commands
from a peer who had greater power and authority over them; even if these commands went totally
against their values.
How many participants (called subjects in the article) were observed, how were they selected, and
how would you describe them?
In the Milgram obedience study 40 males participated in the experience, all of participants were
selected based on a newspaper article ad that Milgram placed. It stated that if they participate in
an experiment at Yale University they would be paid a sum of $4.50, which at the time was a
large amount of money. Of the 40 men that were selected their ages ranged from 20 years old

High Class And Middle Class
We all have to start somewhere when we move to a new town, new state or even a new country.
We all start from the bottom and start to work our way up as we learn to improve ourselves to
move classes in the American system. In America we either belong to the lower class, middle
class or upper class. We are classified either by our: jobs, education, aspirations, budgets and values.
But most of us fit into the middle class, because many have started from the lower class and
worked their way up to middle class, thanks to the mobility between social classes. There is
mobility in the U.S. because like my father who came from Mexico to look for a better future for
my mom and two children found mobility to move from lower class to middle class. My father
started from the lower class and worked his way up to middle class and got his construction
license and finally was a contractor assistant for a construction company in Arizona. In the United
States there is three social classes. There is a lower class nation, middle class, and the upper class
nation. The lower class is the working class the blue collar , the middle class is the white collar
jobs and the upper class is the independently wealthy class. In the united states there is more
people that fit into the middle class than into any of the other two social classes. In the article
Middle Class In America by the U.S. Department of Commerce states that, Middle class families are
defined by their aspirations more than their

Working My Pro Shop Assistant Job At Chisago Lakes Golf...
QUESTION Describe a time on any job that you held I which you were faced with problems or
stresses that tested your coping skills?
ANSWER A time I faced a problem with stress was when I was working my pro shop assistant job
at Chisago Lakes Golf Course. I was eighteen years old and helping my boss run a big tournament,
getting stuff ready for the tournament the day before. The morning of the tournament he hurt his
back. He came into work and could not function as well as he needed to run the tournament. I was
his right hand man that summer helping with every day things, so he put me in charge of the
tournament and running the staff to help with the tournament. So, I came into work thinking it was

business as in life there are some hard things that you come across, and you just have to bear down
and do it.
QUESTION Tell me about a time when you had to go above and beyond the call of duty in order to
get a job done?
ANSWER A time I went above and beyond the call of duty to get a job done, would be when I
worked as a pro shop assistant at Chisago Lakes Golf Course. I was working the afternoon to close
shift on a Saturday night. I had made plans with my friends to hangout after my shift had ended. I
was just about to close up the shop when I had a customer call the course. He said that he had a
grip, but on his golf club by one of our staff members and he did not put it on to the pleasure that
the customer had wanted it. The customer planned on playing the next morning. I asked the
customer if he would be able to come in that night so I could get it done how he liked it before
his round in the morning. He came in that night and I regripped the club and he was grateful that I
did that, when I could have just ignored the phone and closed the shop to hang out with my
friends. After he left the shop, long after I should have been done with my shift, I wrote down his
number. The next day I was working the same afternoon to close shift. I called him later in the

Advantages Of Flight Vs Invisibility
Flight vs Invisibility: One, a hero, the other a villain
Humanity has observed the heavens, viewing the feathered birds above them, being contemptuous
with their freedom of being winged creatures with the ability of flight. According to Orville
Wright, The dream to be able to fly like birds is as old as humanity itself (Wright), something
embedded in the minds of humanity. To possess flight, is to own the ability to resist the pull of a
planet s gravity and navigate through the sky, which many would disregard for invisibility, being
unseen to the naked eye. A chord in the minds of individuals is struck, when encountering this
question, Which is better: invisibility or flight? their mental abilities are profusely challenged, ...

Moreover, it would be unnecessary to ride in buses, cars or planes if you had the power of flight,
enabling you to save money, as you can arrive to your desired destination without spending a
dime. Additionally, you arrive at your destination rather quickly as well, saving time. In fact,
invisibility is only good in two cases: It s useful in getting away; it s useful in approaching...
therefore, useful in killing , as stated from The Invisible Man (Wells), invisibility, is only useful for
immoral acts. Therefore, why wait and sneak on a plane with invisibility, when you can take off to
anywhere of your heart s desire? Logically and rationally, flight is truly the better option.
Alone it s wonderful how little a man can do alone! To rob a little, to hurt a little and there is the
end , the Invisible Man in Herbert. G. Wells novel stated (Wells). Examining this assertion, one can
denote that invisibility has its shortcomings. As it relates to moral quandary, flight does not
question your moral belief, as in the majority of superhero films, the one who possesses flight is
usually the superhero. Furthermore, flight is for those who usually desire to do good with their
powers, they are shameless, fearless individuals, who would rather face danger as oppose
vanishing. No one can fathom the actions of the humble shepherd Gyges, whom obtained the power
of invisibility through a ring, this

How Did Muhammad Ali Influence On African American Society
Imagine being an African American person living in a world of segregation but he still has a
dream, a dream to become a boxer in a league predominantly white and being looked down on
because of his skin color. Segregation in the 1900 s was cruel and divided because After the Civil
War, millions of enslaved African Americans hoped to join the larger society as equal citizens but
unfortunately were not embraced as equals by much of white America (History Staff). Nearly 100
years after the Emancipation Proclamation, African Americans in southern states still lived in an
unequal world of segregation.

The Agony Of Rejection From Friends, Family, Schools, And...
By the time I was fourteen ... the nail in my wall would no longer support the weight of the
rejection slips impaled upon it. I replaced the nail with a spike and kept on writing. This quote
from Stephan King really hit me. The famous, successful man that we all know for his works
Carrie or The Shining , had once been rejected. It s crazy to think that someone so successful had
once been struggling. Maybe I choose this quote because that s how I m feeling right now and
the quote gives me some sort of hope. Unsuccessful, down, rejected are a few words to describe
it. The agony of rejection from friends, family, schools, and jobs all contribute. There s the pain
of boys denying you at my age, or applying for a job that you never hear back from. The constant
pressure to fit in with groups of girls in sororities and the fear they will judge you. The pressure
of school and the four tests coming up next week along with the everlasting point to make your
parents proud is a constant cycle in my life. These all are reasons that brought my attention to
Stephan King s quote. The thing is, he gives me hope for the future. Hope. That s a strong word.
It s not a promised outcome, or a permanent solution but it is something. It is something to look
forward to in the future and having a better outcome then before. Stephan King may have been
rejected from many schools and many jobs, but he decided to push through and keep going and
look where is he is now. That s what I have been

The words seemed to mock him. To TrГЁ s utter anguish, that was all he ever had been. All he

The Theme Of Light Vs Dark In Romeo And Juliet
Love plays a crucial part in people s lives. Not only is it the foundation of one s well being, but it
also affects those included in that circle. With this in mind, love can overpower negativity and
conflicts. However, if one is not able to persuade the importance of their devotion, they can become
consumed by darkness. In Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, the author incorporates the motif of
light vs. dark to convey the theme that an individual s love surmounts any feelings of hatred.
Romeo depicts Juliet as light in order to portray how she enables him to sense hope and
contentment. For instance, upon noticing her for the first time at the Capulet ball, Romeo

the conflicts between the Montagues and Capulets. To understand the contradiction of light and
darkness is essential to an individual s welfare, because it highlights how important possessing love

Research Paper On 1930s Music
Research Paper: The 1930s
When the Great Depression hit its lowest point, approximately 15 million Americans were
unemployed and nearly half of the nation s banks failed says, History.com. From the music that
people listened to, to the clothing they wore, the people of the 1930s were forced to change their
lifestyle.
The way people lived changed dramatically during the 1930s due to the Great Depression. Many
new musicians were founded during this era. There was a huge switch in the music industry and
the genres that existed. For example, two of many new genres were introduced throughout the
30s. Hillbilly folk and Western. The center of this new western music was Texas, where taverns
with new jukeboxes or stages entertained patrons. Musicians dressed as cowboys became
legendary during this decade. By the end of this generation, western music became a lot more
danceable and rowdy (Berg). Hillbilly folk first originated from the Appalachian Mountains and
the Southeast. A few folk musicians that prospered this genre were, the Carter Family and the
Smoky Mountain Boys. Hillbilly music benefited especially from radio programming like the
National Barn Dance and the Grand Ole Opry. As mentioned in 1930s: Music . Although there
were many more genres, those two are the ones that became very popular over the course of the
30s. Not only did music provide a distraction, but it also supplied entertainment.

Advantages and Disadvantages of MIMO The version of MIMO using single input multiple output
has the advantage of being easy to implement, but the disadvantage is that the receiver requires
processing. This causes battery drain. The second version has two transmitter antennas. This gives
the advantage of redundancy coding and processing being moved to the transmitter. This decreases
the space the antenna needs and less processing is required to the receiver. This allows the device
to be smaller and has less battery drain. The last version is true MIMO. This increases the channel
throughput. This means that it can offer more data capacity. One disadvantage would be the cost
and added complexity.
MIMO Applications
Currently MIMO is being used Describe how MIMO is currently being used for routers, smart TVs
phones and wireless hotspots. 4G devices like the Kindle Fire HD use MIMO.
Future of MIMO Right now the future of MIMO isn t secure. Because devices won t be
interoperable, the cost to change over will be prohibitive. The standards based Wi Fi gear like
routers would benefit from MIMO technology. This would include the Belkin, Linksys and Netgear
routers.

Compare And Contrast Alka-Seltzer With Hydrochloric Acid
The purpose of this experiment was to mix Alka Seltzer with Hydrochloric acid in order to
analyze Sodium Bicarbonate as an active ingredient in the Alka Seltzer. The mixture will contain
hydrochloric acid to only see the composition of Sodium Bicarbonate in the tablet once it reacts.
The amount that reacted allowed us to determine how much of it is present in the tablet. The
amount of sodium bicarbonate will be measure by using the ideal gas lawPV=nRT. The experiment
will be conducted in the lab, therefore we are going to use room temperature which ranges from 15
to 26 degrees celsius. At room temperature pressure ranges from 12.8 to 25.0 millimeters mercury
according to its corresponding room temperature. In the ideal gasequation R is 0.08206latm/mol k
which is a constant. Once we have those values we can calculates the number of moles that
reacted in the mixture by solving for the missing value. With the number of moles we are able to
find the mass in grams which is what will potentially tell us the composition of Sodium
Bicarbonate in a tablet of Alka Seltzer.
Results: There were three different runs in order to have comparable data and to increase the
validity of the experiment. The first run gave 39% of Sodium Bicarbonate. The second run gave
34% of Sodium Bicarbonate while the third one gave 39%, which is the same as the first run. The
average percentage was 37% which is much lower than the manufacturer s percentage of 59%. The
percent error came out to be 37%.
Discussion: The manufacturer results shows that Alka Seltzer has 1.9 grams per tablet. In the
experiment the results are too small compared to the number that is given by the label. In the first
run only .0588 grams reacted to the acid. That suggest that the tablet only contains 0.588 grams of
sodium bicarbonate which is very different from the manufacturers. The second run gave an even
smaller number of gram. In terms of moles only .0007 reacted in the first and third run and only
.0006 in the second run. There are many factor that could had alter the amount of moles that reacted
to the acid which affected the result in showing that there is a smaller composition of sodium
bicarbonate in the tablet than that of the manufacturer s. The

Persuasive Essay On Euthanasia
Euthanasia, a relatively new word, but its contents as old as humanity itself. In other words, it is
assisted suicide, deliverance. Death affects all of us, however, in reality, no one talks about it. In
the final phase of life, people should have the right to decide if they want to die from the hands of
a doctor. Euthanasia is a far quieter alternative of leaving the world than drastic suicidefor incurable
diseases and inhuman sufferers. The doctor should be able to comply with a reasoned request of a
patient without being sued in the future. To illustrate, 86 percent of public support euthanasia for
the terminally ill or on life support ( Euthanasia Statistics ). Euthanasia should be legalized through
the whole world because people should be able to decide whether they want to live or die. A person
sufferingfrom a serious illness that is getting worse and worse every day and causes that the person
has to stay in a hospital bed while having a cruel pain should have a right to euthanasia.
Unfortunately, this assisted deathis forbidden in most countries all over the world. However,
according to The Economist newspaper in some countries in Europe such as Netherlands,
Belgium and Luxembourg allow assisted suicide ( Over My Dead Body; Assisted Suicide ). At
the beginning most people try to fight for their precious life, usually, they are young people who
have a lot of strength. However some diseases are stronger, and people do not want to worry so

Investigating the Sources of Finance Essay
Investigating the Sources of Finance
I m now going to investigate the sources of finance available to you when setting up your new
business. I will separate the sources of finance needed into three categories; start up costs, running
costs and expansion costs.
When starting up your new business premises will need to be secured from which you will
trade. I m going to look at ways that you could secure premises. The first option available to you
is a mortgage; these are long term loans offered by banks or building societies based on property
as collateral. Interest must be paid on the mortgage, but this will cover the original sum and when
the money has been paid back, you become the owner of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

to purchase this machinery and equipment you will need to use medium term sources of finance.
These could be; a bank loan, this is a quick and easy source of finance, but this would mean paying
interest. Also the bank may require collateral, and the machinery and equipment may be
repossessed if loan repayments aren t met. Another source of medium term finance available to
you is leasing. This means that a firm could lease you the machinery and equipment that you will
need. However, although less initial finance is needed to obtain the assets, over time this works
out more expensive than buying. Hire purchase is similar to leasing except the firm will eventually
own the assets. The assets are paid for in instalments, whilst the business is using them, this
however can bring with it major cash flow problems, because interest payments can be very high.
My recommendation when attempting to secure a source of finance for machinery and equipment
would be to get a bank loan. I recommend this because; the machinery and equipment is instantly
accessible to the business allowing it to operate, also the interest payments aren t as high as hire
purchase, and with a bank loan the assets become the property of the business once all repayments
are met.
Fixtures and Fittings are also essential when operating from the

Relationship Between Jason And Medea In Jesmyn Ward s...
In the book Salvage the Bones, by Jesmyn Ward, there is a parallel storyline between Esch s life
and the ancient myth of Jason and Medea. Throughout the book, Esch constantly compares herself
with Medea, while referring to Manny as Jason. Both Esch and Medea are forced to cope with the
fact that the two people whom they loved and cherished most in the world have deceived them. As
Esch s character comes of age throughout the book, her decreasing dependency on Manny helps her
gain strength, just as Medeadid once she realized the depth of Jasons betrayal. Although the

Esch had a chat with her dad, in which he was convinced that Esch should keep the baby. This
made her more confident, to know that she had not only her brother s approval, but also her
father s approval (247). Esch s family and friends are accepting of her pregnancy, and they all
even offer to help take care of her and the baby, in hopes that this baby will be the miracle which
will bring the family together. After this conversation with her dad, Big Henry also confronts
her about this conversation, which he has accidentally listened on. He asked her Who the

You wrong...this baby got multiple daddies , which shows that even though he isn t a part of the
family, he is implying that he will assist in raising the baby, along with her real family (254).
Medea is not as fortunate as Esch. After being betrayed by Jason, she had no one to turn to, not
even her own family. So, to take revenge on Jason, she resorts to murdering all of their children,
and even his new bride, leaving him with no one, the way that he left her. Esch and Medea are

The Battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania was a major battle of the American Civil War. The Battle

Intimate Partner Violence Analysis
The fifth and sixth themes go hand in hand and deal with the woman being fed up with their
circumstances and other stressors. The fifth commonality was that many of the women did not
become perpetrators of intimate partner violence until after the birth of their first child. (Seamans,
et al., 2007) Of the women who reported this occurrence, they reported that the stress of being a
new parent coupled with being a victim of intimate partner violencebecame too much for them. The
sixth commonality was based on asking for help, but not getting it. Many of the women in the
study reported asking their families, their partner s family, as well as authorities for help.
(Seamans, et al., 2007) Instead of receiving the help they so needed, many of them... Show more

The reason for this has already been discussed. The question many people have now is what to do
about traditional treatment s ineffectiveness. Studies show that Behavioral Couples Therapy is
extremely effective in reducing violence and aggression in relationships. (Stith, et al., 2012)
However, there is a caveat to implementing Behavioral Couples Therapy for intimate partner
violence.
That is that the couple must also seek treatment for their substance abuse in order to maintain the
reduction in intimate partner violence within the relationship. (Stith, et al., 2012) Altunes Alves
and De Stefano warn that couples therapy should only occur when it will not do more harm to one
of the individuals.

The Winter
We ve got to get those crops in soon honey. The rains are coming and so is the cold.
Yes I know dear. I m not even sure we will have enough for the winter. Oh Morgan, I m worried.
With Suzie crook and these fusses lately; she s just a girl. Not very strong you know. Yes
Barbara, I know. If we just conserve what supplies the good Lord has helped us gather for the
coming seasons. I ll try to hunt for more meat; I ll trap some more furs to sell at the markets
before the bite of winter truly sets in. We ll be fine honey.
Oh I hope so Morgan. I Really do.
It was a simple home that Morgan had constructed himself when they settled here two years ago.
He had sawn and shaped the timber poles with some help from the neighbors well, hardly neighbors
since the closest one was about three miles away across rough terrain.
However, it served. He had even installed real glass panels in the window frames. They cost a
pretty penny, and yet absolutely essential in this harsh and extreme climate up here in the
mountains. Flat land was not common at such an altitude. The soil was rich from ancient volcanic
activity in the area. Crops grew well, usually despite the terrain. This year had been a harsher one
however than from what the locals had said; for ten years or thereabouts .
It was that same period of time in which several families, starved to death in their mountain huts
because of crop failures. Bodies had lain undiscovered until the next spring, looking like frozen

How Did Aristotle Contribute To Logic
Noah Wright
Professor Bruno
Intro to Logic
16 September 2017
Aristotle and Gottlob Frege
Throughout the history of human civilization, logic has played an important role in the
development of thought and the innovation of new technological discoveries. Without logic, there
would be no reasonable or coherent way of thinking. Furthermore, there would be no person
capable of coding a program today. Two important logicians who have contributed a great amount to
the study of logic are Aristotle and Gottlob Frege. Aristotle is one of the many great ancient
Greek philosophers who are mentioned throughout many textbooks. He was a student of the Plato
(Aristocles) and a teacher to Alexander the Great. He has contributed to the studies of science,
philosophy, and logic. Although he may have made vital contributions to the study of logic, his
ideals have been reversed or significantly dispelled by the ideology of modern logic. Two men
who showed the limitations of Aristotle s logic are Gottlob Frege and Bertrand Russell. His
contributions to logic vary in many different sections of the study. However, one of his most
significant contributions is the notion of syllogisms. One of Aristotle s contributions that is heavily
taught in logic classes today is syllogisms. Syllogism, in layman s terms, is an argument with two
premises and a conclusion. It is valid and deductive, basically meaning that it started out as a
generalization but condensed to a specification of an idea. To

The European Convention Of Human Rights
The European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR) can be defined as an international
agreement initiated within the Council of Europe, which was established in 1949 in Strasbourg
in France in order to unify Europe after the Second World War (Harries et al., 2014; O Boyle,
2014). According to Donald et al., (2012), United Kingdom was among the first countries to
adopt and has played an important role in ECHR creation at that time. In 1966, the petition and
jurisdiction of UK s citizens was voluntary and individuals was able to take a case and
jurisdictions to the ECtHR in Strasbourg. Latterly, in 1998 this process become compulsory for
all countries that are members of the (ECHR). Since that time, European countries has become
covered under this agreement as a form of legal system in the unify area. However, it could be
argued that the UK has the least number of cases in the ECtHR in Strasbourg. O Boyle (2014. P.
15) stated that The UK has a very low rate of defeat at Strasbourg. Of the nearly 12,000
applications brought against the UK between 1999 and 2010, the vast majority fell at the first
hurdle . Further they stated that, Only three per cent (390 applications) were declared admissible.
An even smaller proportion of applications 1.8 per cent (215) eventually resulted in a judgment
finding a violation , which in terms means that the UK has lost only 1 out of 50 of the cases that
took place in the UK. Thus, some one could argue and question the extant that this

CONCEPT OF TOURISM
INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND OF TOURISM
Tourism, as an industry has emerged as an instrument for employment generation, poverty
alleviation and sustainable human development. Tourism promotes international understanding and
gives support to local handicrafts and cultural activities. It is an important segment of the country s
economy, especially in terms of its contribution towards foreign exchange earnings, generation of
additional income and creation of employment opportunities.

Organised sport was already well established in Britain long before it reached other countries. The
vocabulary of sport bears witness to this: rugby, football and boxing are all British sports, and even
Tennis, originally a French sport, was formalized and codified by the British who invented the first
national championship in the nineteenth century, at Wimble locking for amusement during the
coldest season.
Mass tourism did not really begin to develop, however, until two things had occurred.
(i)Improvement in communication allowed transport of large numbers of people in a short space of
time to places of leisure interest.
(ii)Greater numbers of people began to enjoy the benefits of leisure time. The biggest development
of all was the invention of the railways, which brought many of Britain s seaside towns within easy
distance of Britain s large urban centres.
The father of modern mass tourism was Thomas Cook who, on Ju5, 1841, organised the first
package tour in history by chartering a train to take a group of teetotalers from Leicester to a rally
in Southborough, some twenty miles away. Cook immediately saw the potential for business
development in the sector, and became the world s first tour operator. Others soon followed him,
with the result that the tourist

The Risks Of The Shipping Industry
The Risk sources in the Shipping Industry along with current opportunities and future threats to the
company s core business
Technically, shipping risk can be defined as the measurable liability for any financial loss arising
from unforeseen imbalances between the supply and demand for sea transport (Stopford 2009).
More specifically, shipowners may face eight different risktypes during their operation in the tanker
market.
These risks can be categorized into the following types (Kavussanos and Visvikis 2006):
Business risk: Is the risk generated by volatility in freight rates which cause uncertainty to the
shipowner s income, in other words fluctuations in EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes). It
depends on the demand and the price of the product sold. It is influenced by (a) freight rates, (b)
voyage costs (fuel costs, port charges, canal dues and broking commissions), (c) operating costs
(manning, repairs, maintenance, stores, insurance and administration) and finally (d) exchange
rates as income is counted in US dollars while costs are counted in current exchange.
Figure 6. Average earnings of all tankers Brent Arab Crude Oil Prices.
In Figure 6 we distinguish the bunker price fluctuations. Bunker is a derivative of Crude Oil and
as it fluctuates it increases the volatility and the amount of risk exposure of the shipping company.
More specifically as the chart depicts, when Brent Crude Oil goes up the Average Tanker Earnings

What Is The Leading Cause Of Climate Change
Climate change is happening, like it or not and is affecting the world. Higher percentages of
carbon dioxide(CO2) in the atmosphere is increasing due to human activities, greenhouse
gases(GHG) and global warming have shown to have caused negative impacts on the
environment and the world we live in. There are many causes of climate change, which cannot be
entirely rid of. However, by taking steps in carbon emission industries, it can ensure a reduction of
CO2 and greenhouse gasses. One of the leading causes of climate change is the process of burning
fossil fuels and coal. This is because of its usage in providing energy for day to day things, like
heat, electricity, fuel, manufacturing, and cement. David Biello is an energy, and environment
editor for the Scientific American, a popular scientific magazine with many famous scientist
publications focused on informing the public states that making cement using these fuels produced
nearly 46 teragrams alone in 2005(Biello). It is the third biggest leading cause in U.S. GHG
emission. That is why alternative energy efficient methods need to be implemented, in the process
of making cement instead of nonrenewable sources like fossil fuels.Manufacturers have
incorporated cement everywhere, It s what many walks in, it s what supports buildings, and it s
even in a variety of houses. David Biello also mentions Lenny Bernstein, an environmental
consultant and is also a leading coordinator for the IPCC, he says that energy efficiency

Business Intelligence And Marketing Analytics Essay
Blogs / job portals / special interest groups take on BI and BA
Business intelligence and business analytics... aren t they the same thing?Or are they describing
opposite processes? There are a lot of big words that get thrown around in the world of BI, and it s
easy to get lost in a whirlwind of interpretation. The diversity of opinion reflects the fluidity of how
we understand the defining language of the field. It also demonstrates that in business intelligence,
one term can mean different things to different people, depending on their business focus and their
perspective.Though it is commonly called the BI field, the number of Google searches for
business analytics have risen sharply in the past 10 years vs. a mild decline for business
intelligence (google).
I went through various blogs and special interest groups that are formed around these two terms i.e.
business intelligence and business analytics. One common thing that I found is that most of them
consider business intelligence and analytics as distinct but connected tools. They described
business intelligence as a tool that provides a way of amassing data to find information primarily
through asking questions, reporting, and online analytical processes. On the other hand, business
analytics take advantage of statistical and quantitative data for explanatory and predictive modeling.
Analytics focuses on solutions oriented capabilities which create value and convert information into
knowledge. Moreover, both business

What Are The Six Abiotic Factors That Affect Coral Reefs
Six abiotic factors that affect the organisms living in the ecosystem are sunlight, temperature, the
density, the buoyancy level, the salinity level, and the penetration of light. The sunlight entering the
ecosystem allows the process of photosynthesis to continue. This process provided nutrients, food,
and energy to the plants and animals in the area, allowing the food chain to be secure. The
temperature of the water should be between 68 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperatures go
lower than the range, or higher, some organisms who use the coral reefas a habitat may not be able
to adapt or survive in the new conditions. The density of the coralreef affects the communities of
animals and other biotic factors since some of them can only survive between certain depths of
the water. The buoyancy level of the water in the coral reef contributes to the ability to move for
the animals. Buoyancy is the force that supports an organism s weight. The salinity level in a coral
reef is greater than the salinity in a freshwater ecosystem. If the salinity levels... Show more content

compromise in order to incorporate the needs of the different parts of the nation. During the early
eighteenth century, Americans achieved reconciliation of political disputes, predominately between
the North and the South, through compromise. By 1860 this was no longer feasible and the nation

As a result of the Compromise of 1850, California was admitted as a free state, the territory
disputed between Texas and New Mexico was surrendered to New Mexico, the slave trade was
abolished in the District of Columbia, the Mexican Cession was open to popular sovereignty,

Senator Daniel Webster stated his opinion that the North is wrong for not obeying the Fugitive

as he attempts to see both sides the North and the South. Webster is unbiased because as a
Northern man, he agrees with the South. The peace was only temporary. The Fugitive Slave Law

Bob Fosse s 1972 Cabaret
Prior to World War I, German cinema was a thriving industry being seen across Europe and North
America. Various European cultures of the 1920s embraced new ideas and artistic styles called
expressionism that focused on experimental fields of expression and looking into the future. In
Bob Fosse s 1972 musical Cabaret, the flamboyant world of art appears under the intimidating Nazi
era. This film follows the German Expressionismtrend as seen through its avant garde style and
sense of emotion. The editing techniques, featured art, and deeper meaning all testify to the German
Expressionismera.
During the 1920s, German Expressionism emerged because of the number of related artistic
movements beginning in Germany that reached an all time high in Berlin, where nightlife was
booming. These expressive movements impressed the multicultural European culture in fields such
as: architecture, painting, sculpting, and film. A crucial notion in the movement was to portray the
world in an emotionally distorted perspective to evoke different moods and participate in new
philosophies. Physical reality was not a concern during this movement. Popular story plots of the
Expressionist films often involved situations concerning madness, betrayal, and insanity, all which
can be found in Cabaret. This obscure style of filmmaking was brought to America when the Nazis
gained political power and a number of German filmmakers immigrated to Hollywood.

The Media And Its Impact On World Events
Yahoo News, Huffington Post, CNN, Fox News, and Buzzfeed; these are some of the most

everything trending online? Cue Reddit, the Front Page of the Internet. Reddit shares many of the
same attributes as online news with its timely and interactive content; however, its goal is not to
deliver objective facts but to rank information by how interesting it is. Many successful websites
require an equal balance of ethos, pathos, and logos to generate traffic. Redditis unique in that its

Reddit maintains a stronger pathos than ethos or logos because its content is controlled by its users

The Auteur Theory Of Walt Disney s Film
Film has been a prominent topic in society since its conception. One of the most important
physical areas of film creation is located in Hollywood, California. Hollywood has produced some
of the most recognizable directors and film creators. Walter Elias Disney is one major example of
this. He is still extremely well known because of the vast business he created that is still thriving
today. Many people have argued that his career fits within either the classical auteur theory or the
structuralist auteur theory, but no argument has been as strong as the one that supports Disney s
career as the commercial auteur theory. The fact that Walt Disneys work was very much affected by
elements outside of his films shows that his career fits within the commercial, or consumer, auteur
film theory. The commercial auteur theory supports the idea that the author is what a person has
cultivated to represent themselves. Catherine Grant, the writer of www.auteur.com, calls this
cultivation of an intentional self an aura. She presents the idea that the creation of an aura is
central to the success of one s commercialism. This creation will result in a sort of cult following
that will find the author s work to be a commodity. This cult will begin to seek after certain films
just because it was created by this author. This author does not have to be a director. He or she
could be an actor or anyone else involved in the filmmaking process. This theory definitely fits the

Initial Appearance Vs Arraignment Hearing
How does the initial appearance differ from arraignment, preliminary hearings, and grand jury
review?
An initial appearance is the first contact with the judge that a person has after committing a crime
where they are quickly reviewed on the charges being made against them, their bail options,
constitutional rights among other court information. During the initial appearance, the judge
provides the defendant with a criminal complaint copy. In the copy, the charge or charges are listed
with the maximum probable penalty in case of conviction. It is also at the initial appearance that
the judge makes the first likely cause determination. In other words, the judge scrutinizes the
complaint to gauge whether if the claims made by the State surely confirm if the defendant
committed the offenses that he is charged for. The judge also enlightens the defendant of his /her
right to counsel, especially if he/she is not represented y an attorney. When a defendant is in charge

married another brother, Ptolemy XV, due to tradition. However she also became Caesar s

Romans refused to believe that Ptolemy Caesarion was Caesar s child. She stayed in Rome until
his assassination 44 BC. He was killed by Brutus and Cassius. It was rumored later that Cleopatra
helped the Caesarian party to assassin Caesar. But her world was shattered after his death.
When she was just fourteen years old she met Marc Antony for the first time. When she met him
later in life she saw him as an opportunity for power and fame. She used her wit, charm, and
wealth to gain the interest of Marc Antony. They were later married in 37 b.c. In the winter of 41
40 b.c. Cleopatra gave Mark Antony her undivided attention; she was his mistress, companion and
confidante. They had planned to set up an expansive kingdom to be inherited by her sons of Caesar
and Marc Antony. However Marc Antony and Cleopatra were involved in the Battle of Actium, in
31 b.c., which they lost. Marc Antony then committed suicide. Their relationship inspired

Professional Air Traffic Control
Professional Air Traffic Control
Colton Davis
University of North Dakota
Abstract
Air Traffic Control (ATC) in the United States consists of roughly 25,000 air traffic controllers
working in the National Airspace System (2014 controller workforce plan). These 25,000
controllers consist of both civilian and military personnel. This essay examines paths to entry into
air traffic control, recent trends, costs and predictions for the future of ATC in the National Airspace
System. In 2014 the FAA underwent the most significant change in hiring procedures since the Air
Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative (AT CTI) was introduced. The new FAA hiring methods have

first pass the new biographical questionnaire. This questionnaire claims to select the most qualified
potential controllers based on research from currently successful certified practicing controllers, or
CPCs. Under the current hiring processes from the FAA, once a candidate passes the biographical
questionnaire they are scheduled to take the AT SAT. If the candidate passes the AT SAT they will

ministry because it is a discipleship ministry not just the ministry about money. Unfortunately
unless the pastors are intentionally teaching about it is very confusing to understand the role of this
ministry.
Jackie Scott stepped down from this ministry. Currently we do not have a chair for this ministry.
Mark Snider is a synod representative at synod level for this ministry. I will be gathering a team

You will be receiving series of study from me by e mail. Please take time to read and pray.
At one point in future, I would like to propose a continuing resolution to call the name of this

The Psychology Of Conversion Therapy
What Conversation Therapy Actually Does
While reading Hard Rock Return to Prison by Etheridge Knight one may start to think of the
effects of correcting or convert someone s behavior to a more favorable one. This idea is present
in today s society and to better understand this believe and practice one will have to explore the
psychology of conversion therapy. Conversion Therapy or reparative therapy is a range of
dangerous and discredited practices that falsely claim to change a person s sexual orientation or
gender identity or expression (Human Rights Campaign). This defines what Hard Rock
experiences in this poem and to further understand and deepen ones understand modern psychology
and medicine offer a way of explain this. Through explore the effects and what happens to someone
during correction therapy one can be educated more on Hard Rock.
Conversion therapy which is primary used to convert homosexual or bisexual males and females to
become heterosexual has been proven not to work by many modern day experts in the field of
psychology and psychiatry. David Michael Conner, a writer for the Huffington Post in the LGBQ
department, explains conversion therapy as the following It involves electrocuting and drugging
LGBT people to make them suffer while looking at homosexual pornography in order to convert
them to heterosexuality (Conner). Those who are homosexual are tortured in attempts to correct
them of their illness .
Hard Rock suffered from a problem, which

Aaron The Odyssey
Aaron is the priest that helps the Israelites create the idol they so desire, it is interesting that as a
worshiper of God he quick to give into their demand. Possibly Aaron is equally as frightened as
the people since Moses takes forty days and forty nights to return to them and at this point they are
getting restless, or perhaps he would take this as an opportunity to seize more power. With Moses
gone and the people doubting his return, a creation of a new god would allow the creator to wield
an incredibly large amount of power, getting close to the amount that Moses himself has. The
creator could insert themselves as the new chosen prophet, and attempt to take over through his
godly right.

When Rome was newly established there was a vast disparity between the unmarried women
and the men, the women were far outnumbered. Romulus knew that a new city like his couldn t
survive without women to increase the population, and that they quickly need more. After
appeals to the neighboring cities with no avail, he decided that if they would not come, he
would take them by force. His solution for this is to set a trap for the Sabine women, a festival
was announced and people from neighboring cities were invited. Once they arrived, the women
were carried off to be married to the men of the city; subsequently the Sabine s reacted and
prepared for war against Rome to retrieve their stolen women. War ensued but eventually the
Sabine s and Rome came to an agreement and later ruled together. This kidnap and rape of the
Sabine women falls under the armed actions that Machiavelli finds appropriate for a new king. In
order for their people to survive certain measures should be taken, and he believes that the most
affective ones are done with force. Also, this action was done with a selfless goal in mind, the
advancement of the Roman

Analysis Of The Specialty Of Obstetrics And Gynecologists
Cesarean Section by Maternal Request
In the specialty of obstetrics, there is an ongoing major controversy about cesarean sections by
maternal request (CSMR). In the case that there is no other medical indication for a cesarean
section, mothers are requesting this procedure over a vaginal birth. More specifically the American
College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists (ACOG, 2013) define it as a primary prelabor cesarean
delivery on maternal request in the absence of any maternal or fetal indications (p. 905). Over the
past decade, in the United States alone, there has been a 42% increase in elective primary cesarean
sections (Shek Dietz, 2013). Cesarean sections, alone, have reached it s highest rates in the United
States with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From a different perspective, those outside the patient community take a more ethical approach,
suggesting that physicians should honor patient autonomy because it is, the mother s role to act as
the primary guardian of fetal well being (Minkoff, 2006, p. 311). Therefore, the mother should
have the autonomy to decide what happens to lives of her and the baby. With this innate right to
self ownership, it would be unjust for another to make decisions without respect to the patient and
what happens to these lives. This position on elective cesarean sections is the one I agree with and
will argue for.
The physicians and governing body of ACOG are the majority in the argument against CSMR.
Their collective position on the debate declares, given the risks and benefits the Committee on
Obstetric Practice believes that in the absence of maternal and fetal indications for cesarean
delivery, a plan for vaginal delivery is safe and appropriate and should be recommended to patients
(ACOG, 2013, p. 905). In addition to this guidance, there is foundational evidence about the
potential maternal and fetal risks of cesarean sections.
It is associated with risk of infection [66 68], wound complication [66,67], hemorrhage leading to
hysterectomy [66], anesthetic complications [66], longer hospital

Feminist Theology
Feminist Theology
Feminist theology is based on the idea of not lord but brother . Jesus Christ himself stepped
outside of societies norms by befriending the outcasts of society, which included women. Women
are often portrayed as the cause of or focus of evil and misdeeds in the bible. The focus of feminist
theology is the perspective of theology from those who were outcast and therefore considered
themselves as equals and friends to Jesus Christ. If there is anything they desire to know, let
them ask their husbands. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. (1 Cor.14:33 35)
Feminist theologians are logical and educated with their approach to the view of the Lord as an
equal who is to be believed in and epitomized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Holy Spirit itself seems to have a feminine quality to its nature. The mystery of the Trinity is
by no means that simple. But the fact that it is a mystery would indicate that it is presumptive to
assume that any part of the Trinity other than Jesus is either male or female. The significance of
Jesus is not his maleness but his humanness. In the movie, The DaVinci Code, (although many
liberties are taken with the biblical basis and texts), there is a very real focus on the feminine idea
behind Christianity. What if women were supposed to carry on the Christian tradition and the
church? This idea shakes the very foundation of early and modern Christianity to the core. The
Bible itself was written by men, the Council at Nicaea was attended by men, is it so far fetched
that maybe the men got it wrong? This idea is radical but has an affect on the feminist
perspective that is found in several sources of research. There are several ideas from a feminine
point of view that even change the focus of Jesus as simply a man.
There is much feminist imagery related to Jesus as well. He gave birth to humanity through his
death. This birth language is feminine and using maternal images to describe the life, teachings and
sufferings of Jesus is powerful indeed. It has the potential to link inevitable stereotypes for woman
to be mothers and nothing else but women in the church have left their mark

For Any Inner City and Rural Area Summarise the Contrasts...
There are key differences in the characteristics of the Isle of Purbeck in South East Dorset and
Byker Ward in Newcastle upon Tyne; such as the housing type, ethnicity, age structure, wealth,
employment and services unsurprisingly many are interlinked. These also have had key effects on
social welfare; which lead to further contrasts between the two areas. Social welfare measures the
well being of communities shown through jobs, housing, health care and education.
The most significant contrast is the housing type. Byker Grove is an inner city electoral ward in
Newcastle upon Tyneconsisting of council housing for many decades, whilst the Isle of Purbeck is
largely private/owner occupied. In the 1960s, Byker had exclusively small ... Show more content on

This contrasts significantly to the type of housing in the Isle of Purbeck where 73.7% is owner
occupied. Further, in the last decade house prices have risen above the national average due to
competition from second homeowners, retirees and in migrants. For example, property at
Sandbanks is the 4th most expensive in the world. The situation is made worse by the fact that
employment opportunities in the area are limited. Only 7.7% is council housing in recent times
only 2 small Housing Association developments in Corfe Castle have been planned to deal with
this. Therefore, this has a key effect on social welfare. It results in a richer population, with high
demand for private healthcare and farm/organic shops. In contrast, Byker is likely to have very
few high end shops as a result of income being low resulting in a reliance on state services, and
the creation of what Edwina Curry saw as food deserts ; meaning very little healthy food options
due to the dominance of cheap, fast food outlets. In turn, this is likely to increase obesity and
lower life expectancy reducing social welfare further. In contrast, organic/farm shops in the Isle of
Purbeck are likely to have the opposite effect raising life expectancy.
Another contrast is seen in the age structure of the two areas. Whilst the Isle of Purbeck has a
population where over 20% are over 65 and 18.6% are retied, Byker Ward has a much more evenly
distributed age

Irving Berlin Contributions
Irving Berlin made important contributions to musicals and music writing. After his background
information is provided, the prior sentence will be proven by using examples of the songs he
made as a freelance songwriter, a songwriter for Broadway musical productions , and Hollywood
Musical productions, the popularity of the songs, and the awards.
Israel Berlin who we now know as Irving Berlin, was born May 11th, Eighteen 1888, in the town
of Tyumen, a Siberian city in Russia. He was the one out of eight children. His father, Moses
Baline, was a Cantor in the Jewish Synagogue, and his mother was Lena Lipkin Baline During the
time he lived in Russia, he and his family were treated terribly, for the fact that Russia was at that
time attacking the Jews and the Jewish community. The only thing he remembered about Russia
was when an Anti Semitic group burned down his house, and he sat in front of his house all night
watching it burn. In circa 1883 his family moved to Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United
States of America via Ellis Island. Everyone in his family regardless of age, except for practical
reasons such as an infant, had to work. Although his family was very poor, he did not seem to
notice. His father was a very strict Jew and would punish his children with beatings even for as
simple of a reason as taking their shoes off in an unorthodox way. He worked odd jobs until he was
eight years of age, when his father died, he became a street singer while doubling as

How Did Martin Luther King Jr Dream
Growing up Martin Luther King. Jr had a happy middle class life, but even with all of this he
still noticed social problems. His father was a respected preacher, his mother was a college
educated musician, and his grandmother, who lived with them, was extremely fond of him. He
was also close to his older sister and younger brother, who started college at fifteen. When he was
younger, he had to experience long bread lines. He also learned about racial discrimination at six,
when then neighbors stop playing with him. When he went to his mother to ask, his mother told
him, you are as good as anyone, as it says in Heeding the Call by Diana Childress. When Martin

They had to stand in the aisle for the ninety mile trip This made King very deeply angry. Even
though his first plan was to become a doctor, he then decided to major in sociology, where he
learned more about the racial issues. After he still wanted to further his knowledge in theology. He
would read about Walter Rauschenbush, Mohandas Gandhi, and Reinhold Niebuhr. All of these
people were against racism and influenced Martin Luther about racism and what to do. Even after
coming first in his class, he still wanted to further his knowledge in philosophy and doctorate it.
He went to Boston further to accomplish his goal, where he met the love of his life, Coretta Scott.
After finishing his course and getting married, they decided to go back to the South. This was a
very fateful decision they took. After Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus, the African
American community was ready to take action and chose Martin Luther King Jr. to lead their
protests. He started to join the African American community and he started to go on marches and
boycotts. All of these ideas came from his readings of Mohandas Gandhi. He had a different way
to get what he wanted, Gandhi would boycott and go on marches. This influenced King greatly.

  • 2. Comparison of Mexico and Brazil Essay examples Brazil and Mexico are both the giants of their geographic realms (de Blij and Muller 219,254). Mexico constitutes an entire geographic region of Middle America (200). The country of Brazil is also considered a single region in South America (239). Both of these regions have very large populations in comparison to the other regions of their realms. Mexicos current population of 102 million people has more than doubled in size since 1970 (219). Brazil s estimated population is currently near 167 million people (254). The populations of both regions are becoming increasingly more urban in character. At least seventy four percent of Mexico s population resides in cities or towns (220). Similarly in Brazil, eighty percent of the population... These people are the ancestors of immigrants from Eastern Europe, Portugal, Germany, and Italy. Brazil also has the largest population of Japanese outside of Japan (254). Despite the differences in their ethnicity, the populations of these regions are both highly urbanized. In Brazil eighty percent of the population resides in urban areas (Microsoft Encarta). Nearly seventy five percent of Mexico s people are urban dwellers (de Blij and Muller 220). The largest cities of these regions are Mexico City, Mexico (221) and Sao Paulo, Brazil (259). Mexico City is the home of a little more than twenty five percent of Mexico s total population. Mexico City s population grows by amazing amounts each year; the city will probably soon be the most populated city on Earth. Right now the population of Mexico City is twenty eight million (221). Sao Paulo in Brazil is also growing remarkably fast. Presently the population of Sao Paulo is Twenty three million Sao Paulo s population has more than doubled in the past thirty years (259). • 3. Milgram s Research On Obedience Essay Why did Milgram decide to study this topic? What was the motivating factor/event that inspired Milgram to research obedience? The main reason that Milgram decided to study the topic of obedience was to better understand the extreme inhumane conditions that Jews faced during the holocaust at the hands of German soldiers. Over the 12 year period between the early 1930 s through the mid 1940 s millions of Jews died in death camps run by Germans. Since Milgram himself was of Jewish descent, Milgram wanted to know how and why soldiers obeyed orders to kill innocent people. What was hypothesized? You may not find an explicit hypothesis in the article, but do your best to write a summary of what Milgram thought he might find when conducting the experiment. In this experiment Milgram hypothesized, how far participants were willing to carry out commands from a peer who had greater power and authority over them; even if these commands went totally against their values. How many participants (called subjects in the article) were observed, how were they selected, and how would you describe them? In the Milgram obedience study 40 males participated in the experience, all of participants were selected based on a newspaper article ad that Milgram placed. It stated that if they participate in an experiment at Yale University they would be paid a sum of $4.50, which at the time was a large amount of money. Of the 40 men that were selected their ages ranged from 20 years old ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. High Class And Middle Class We all have to start somewhere when we move to a new town, new state or even a new country. We all start from the bottom and start to work our way up as we learn to improve ourselves to move classes in the American system. In America we either belong to the lower class, middle class or upper class. We are classified either by our: jobs, education, aspirations, budgets and values. But most of us fit into the middle class, because many have started from the lower class and worked their way up to middle class, thanks to the mobility between social classes. There is mobility in the U.S. because like my father who came from Mexico to look for a better future for my mom and two children found mobility to move from lower class to middle class. My father started from the lower class and worked his way up to middle class and got his construction license and finally was a contractor assistant for a construction company in Arizona. In the United States there is three social classes. There is a lower class nation, middle class, and the upper class nation. The lower class is the working class the blue collar , the middle class is the white collar jobs and the upper class is the independently wealthy class. In the united states there is more people that fit into the middle class than into any of the other two social classes. In the article Middle Class In America by the U.S. Department of Commerce states that, Middle class families are defined by their aspirations more than their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

ANSWER A time I faced a problem with stress was when I was working my pro shop assistant job at Chisago Lakes Golf Course. I was eighteen years old and helping my boss run a big tournament, getting stuff ready for the tournament the day before. The morning of the tournament he hurt his back. He came into work and could not function as well as he needed to run the tournament. QUESTION Tell me about a time when you had to go above and beyond the call of duty in order to get a job done? ANSWER A time I went above and beyond the call of duty to get a job done, would be when I worked as a pro shop assistant at Chisago Lakes Golf Course. I was working the afternoon to close shift on a Saturday night. I had made plans with my friends to hangout after my shift had ended. I was just about to close up the shop when I had a customer call the course. The customer planned on playing the next morning. I asked the customer if he would be able to come in that night so I could get it done how he liked it before his round in the morning. He came in that night and I regripped the club and he was grateful that I did that, when I could have just ignored the phone and closed the shop to hang out with my friends. • 6. Advantages Of Flight Vs Invisibility Flight vs Invisibility: One, a hero, the other a villain Humanity has observed the heavens, viewing the feathered birds above them, being contemptuous with their freedom of being winged creatures with the ability of flight. According to Orville Wright, The dream to be able to fly like birds is as old as humanity itself (Wright), something embedded in the minds of humanity. To possess flight, is to own the ability to resist the pull of a planet s gravity and navigate through the sky, which many would disregard for invisibility, being unseen to the naked eye. A chord in the minds of individuals is struck, when encountering this question, Which is better: invisibility or flight? their mental abilities are profusely challenged, ... Moreover, it would be unnecessary to ride in buses, cars or planes if you had the power of flight, enabling you to save money, as you can arrive to your desired destination without spending a dime. Additionally, you arrive at your destination rather quickly as well, saving time. In fact, invisibility is only good in two cases: It s useful in getting away; it s useful in approaching... therefore, useful in killing , as stated from The Invisible Man (Wells), invisibility, is only useful for immoral acts. Therefore, why wait and sneak on a plane with invisibility, when you can take off to anywhere of your heart s desire? Logically and rationally, flight is truly the better option. Alone it s wonderful how little a man can do alone! To rob a little, to hurt a little and there is the end , the Invisible Man in Herbert. G. Wells novel stated (Wells). Examining this assertion, one can denote that invisibility has its shortcomings. As it relates to moral quandary, flight does not question your moral belief, as in the majority of superhero films, the one who possesses flight is usually the superhero. Furthermore, flight is for those who usually desire to do good with their powers, they are shameless, fearless individuals, who would rather face danger as oppose vanishing. Segregation in the 1900 s was cruel and divided because After the Civil War, millions of enslaved African Americans hoped to join the larger society as equal citizens but unfortunately were not embraced as equals by much of white America (History Staff). I replaced the nail with a spike and kept on writing. This quote from Stephan King really hit me. The famous, successful man that we all know for his works Carrie or The Shining , had once been rejected. It s crazy to think that someone so successful had once been struggling. Maybe I choose this quote because that s how I m feeling right now and the quote gives me some sort of hope. Unsuccessful, down, rejected are a few words to describe it. The agony of rejection from friends, family, schools, and jobs all contribute. There s the pain of boys denying you at my age, or applying for a job that you never hear back from. The constant pressure to fit in with groups of girls in sororities and the fear they will judge you. The pressure of school and the four tests coming up next week along with the everlasting point to make your parents proud is a constant cycle in my life. These all are reasons that brought my attention to Stephan King s quote. The thing is, he gives me hope for the future. Hope. That s a strong word. It s not a promised outcome, or a permanent solution but it is something. It is something to look forward to in the future and having a better outcome then before. • 11. The Theme Of Light Vs Dark In Romeo And Juliet Love plays a crucial part in people s lives. Not only is it the foundation of one s well being, but it also affects those included in that circle. With this in mind, love can overpower negativity and conflicts. However, if one is not able to persuade the importance of their devotion, they can become consumed by darkness. In Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, the author incorporates the motif of light vs. dark to convey the theme that an individual s love surmounts any feelings of hatred. Romeo depicts Juliet as light in order to portray how she enables him to sense hope and contentment. • 12. Research Paper On 1930s Music Research Paper: The 1930s When the Great Depression hit its lowest point, approximately 15 million Americans were unemployed and nearly half of the nation s banks failed says, History.com. From the music that people listened to, to the clothing they wore, the people of the 1930s were forced to change their lifestyle. The way people lived changed dramatically during the 1930s due to the Great Depression. Many new musicians were founded during this era. There was a huge switch in the music industry and the genres that existed. For example, two of many new genres were introduced throughout the 30s. Hillbilly folk and Western. The center of this new western music was Texas, where taverns with new jukeboxes or stages entertained patrons. Musicians dressed as cowboys became legendary during this decade. By the end of this generation, western music became a lot more danceable and rowdy (Berg). Hillbilly folk first originated from the Appalachian Mountains and the Southeast. A few folk musicians that prospered this genre were, the Carter Family and the Smoky Mountain Boys. Hillbilly music benefited especially from radio programming like the National Barn Dance and the Grand Ole Opry. As mentioned in 1930s: Music . Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Advantages and Disadvantages of MIMO The version of MIMO using single input multiple output has the advantage of being easy to implement, but the disadvantage is that the receiver requires processing. This causes battery drain. The second version has two transmitter antennas. This gives the advantage of redundancy coding and processing being moved to the transmitter. This decreases the space the antenna needs and less processing is required to the receiver. This allows the device to be smaller and has less battery drain. The last version is true MIMO. This increases the channel throughput. This means that it can offer more data capacity. One disadvantage would be the cost and added complexity. MIMO Applications Currently MIMO is being used Describe how MIMO is currently being used for routers, smart TVs phones and wireless hotspots. 4G devices like the Kindle Fire HD use MIMO. Future of MIMO Right now the future of MIMO isn t secure. Because devices won t be interoperable, the cost to change over will be prohibitive. The standards based Wi Fi gear like routers would benefit from MIMO technology. This would include the Belkin, Linksys and Netgear routers. References

  • 15. Compare And Contrast Alka-Seltzer With Hydrochloric Acid The purpose of this experiment was to mix Alka Seltzer with Hydrochloric acid in order to analyze Sodium Bicarbonate as an active ingredient in the Alka Seltzer. The mixture will contain hydrochloric acid to only see the composition of Sodium Bicarbonate in the tablet once it reacts. The amount that reacted allowed us to determine how much of it is present in the tablet. The amount of sodium bicarbonate will be measure by using the ideal gas lawPV=nRT. The experiment will be conducted in the lab, therefore we are going to use room temperature which ranges from 15 to 26 degrees celsius. At room temperature pressure ranges from 12.8 to 25.0 millimeters mercury according to its corresponding room temperature. In the ideal gasequation R is 0.08206latm/mol k which is a constant. Once we have those values we can calculates the number of moles that reacted in the mixture by solving for the missing value. With the number of moles we are able to find the mass in grams which is what will potentially tell us the composition of Sodium Bicarbonate in a tablet of Alka Seltzer. Results: There were three different runs in order to have comparable data and to increase the validity of the experiment. The first run gave 39% of Sodium Bicarbonate. The second run gave 34% of Sodium Bicarbonate while the third one gave 39%, which is the same as the first run. The average percentage was 37% which is much lower than the manufacturer s percentage of 59%. The percent error came out to be 37%. Discussion: The manufacturer results shows that Alka Seltzer has 1.9 grams per tablet. In the experiment the results are too small compared to the number that is given by the label. • 16. Persuasive Essay On Euthanasia Euthanasia, a relatively new word, but its contents as old as humanity itself. In other words, it is assisted suicide, deliverance. Death affects all of us, however, in reality, no one talks about it. In the final phase of life, people should have the right to decide if they want to die from the hands of a doctor. Euthanasia is a far quieter alternative of leaving the world than drastic suicidefor incurable diseases and inhuman sufferers. The doctor should be able to comply with a reasoned request of a patient without being sued in the future. To illustrate, 86 percent of public support euthanasia for the terminally ill or on life support ( Euthanasia Statistics ). Euthanasia should be legalized through the whole world because people should be able to decide whether they want to live or die. A person sufferingfrom a serious illness that is getting worse and worse every day and causes that the person has to stay in a hospital bed while having a cruel pain should have a right to euthanasia. Unfortunately, this assisted deathis forbidden in most countries all over the world. However, according to The Economist newspaper in some countries in Europe such as Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg allow assisted suicide ( Over My Dead Body; Assisted Suicide ). At the beginning most people try to fight for their precious life, usually, they are young people who have a lot of strength. I will separate the sources of finance needed into three categories; start up costs, running costs and expansion costs. When starting up your new business premises will need to be secured from which you will trade. I m going to look at ways that you could secure premises. The first option available to you is a mortgage; these are long term loans offered by banks or building societies based on property as collateral. Interest must be paid on the mortgage, but this will cover the original sum and when the money has been paid back, you become the owner of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... to purchase this machinery and equipment you will need to use medium term sources of finance. These could be; a bank loan, this is a quick and easy source of finance, but this would mean paying interest. Also the bank may require collateral, and the machinery and equipment may be repossessed if loan repayments aren t met. Another source of medium term finance available to you is leasing. This means that a firm could lease you the machinery and equipment that you will need. However, although less initial finance is needed to obtain the assets, over time this works out more expensive than buying. Hire purchase is similar to leasing except the firm will eventually own the assets. The assets are paid for in instalments, whilst the business is using them, this however can bring with it major cash flow problems, because interest payments can be very high. My recommendation when attempting to secure a source of finance for machinery and equipment would be to get a bank loan. I recommend this because; the machinery and equipment is instantly accessible to the business allowing it to operate, also the interest payments aren t as high as hire purchase, and with a bank loan the assets become the property of the business once all repayments are met. Fixtures and Fittings are also essential when operating from the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the book Salvage the Bones, by Jesmyn Ward, there is a parallel storyline between Esch s life and the ancient myth of Jason and Medea. Throughout the book, Esch constantly compares herself with Medea, while referring to Manny as Jason. Both Esch and Medea are forced to cope with the fact that the two people whom they loved and cherished most in the world have deceived them. As Esch s character comes of age throughout the book, her decreasing dependency on Manny helps her gain strength, just as Medeadid once she realized the depth of Jasons betrayal. This made her more confident, to know that she had not only her brother s approval, but also her father s approval (247). Esch s family and friends are accepting of her pregnancy, and they all even offer to help take care of her and the baby, in hopes that this baby will be the miracle which will bring the family together. After this conversation with her dad, Big Henry also confronts her about this conversation, which he has accidentally listened on. He asked her Who the daddy? , and when she cautiously replies with It don t have no daddy , he caringly replies to her You wrong...this baby got multiple daddies , which shows that even though he isn t a part of the family, he is implying that he will assist in raising the baby, along with her real family (254). Medea is not as fortunate as Esch. After being betrayed by Jason, she had no one to turn to, not even her own family. • 24. How Did Aristotle Contribute To Logic Noah Wright Professor Bruno Intro to Logic 16 September 2017 Aristotle and Gottlob Frege Throughout the history of human civilization, logic has played an important role in the development of thought and the innovation of new technological discoveries. Without logic, there would be no reasonable or coherent way of thinking. Furthermore, there would be no person capable of coding a program today. Two important logicians who have contributed a great amount to the study of logic are Aristotle and Gottlob Frege. Aristotle is one of the many great ancient Greek philosophers who are mentioned throughout many textbooks. He was a student of the Plato (Aristocles) and a teacher to Alexander the Great. He has contributed to the studies of science, philosophy, and logic. Although he may have made vital contributions to the study of logic, his ideals have been reversed or significantly dispelled by the ideology of modern logic. Two men who showed the limitations of Aristotle s logic are Gottlob Frege and Bertrand Russell. His contributions to logic vary in many different sections of the study. However, one of his most significant contributions is the notion of syllogisms. One of Aristotle s contributions that is heavily taught in logic classes today is syllogisms. Syllogism, in layman s terms, is an argument with two premises and a conclusion. It is valid and deductive, basically meaning that it started out as a generalization but condensed to a specification of an idea. To ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Latterly, in 1998 this process become compulsory for all countries that are members of the (ECHR). Of the nearly 12,000 applications brought against the UK between 1999 and 2010, the vast majority fell at the first hurdle . Further they stated that, Only three per cent (390 applications) were declared admissible. An even smaller proportion of applications 1.8 per cent (215) eventually resulted in a judgment finding a violation , which in terms means that the UK has lost only 1 out of 50 of the cases that took place in the UK. The Risks Of The Shipping Industry The Risk sources in the Shipping Industry along with current opportunities and future threats to the company s core business Technically, shipping risk can be defined as the measurable liability for any financial loss arising from unforeseen imbalances between the supply and demand for sea transport (Stopford 2009). More specifically, shipowners may face eight different risktypes during their operation in the tanker market. These risks can be categorized into the following types (Kavussanos and Visvikis 2006): Business risk: Is the risk generated by volatility in freight rates which cause uncertainty to the shipowner s income, in other words fluctuations in EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes). It depends on the demand and the price of the product sold. It is influenced by (a) freight rates, (b) voyage costs (fuel costs, port charges, canal dues and broking commissions), (c) operating costs (manning, repairs, maintenance, stores, insurance and administration) and finally (d) exchange rates as income is counted in US dollars while costs are counted in current exchange. There are many causes of climate change, which cannot be entirely rid of. However, by taking steps in carbon emission industries, it can ensure a reduction of CO2 and greenhouse gasses. One of the leading causes of climate change is the process of burning fossil fuels and coal. This is because of its usage in providing energy for day to day things, like heat, electricity, fuel, manufacturing, and cement. David Biello is an energy, and environment editor for the Scientific American, a popular scientific magazine with many famous scientist publications focused on informing the public states that making cement using these fuels produced nearly 46 teragrams alone in 2005(Biello). But what if there was a newspaper for everything trending online? Cue Reddit, the Front Page of the Internet. Reddit shares many of the same attributes as online news with its timely and interactive content; however, its goal is not to deliver objective facts but to rank information by how interesting it is. Many successful websites require an equal balance of ethos, pathos, and logos to generate traffic. Redditis unique in that its success comes almost exclusively from its use of pathos to keep a loyal user base. Reddit maintains a stronger pathos than ethos or logos because its content is controlled by its users instead of editors. Co founders Alexis Ohanian and Steve Huffman developed the idea of Reddit on the basis that good reference material never actually really conveyed what was new and interesting of the moment (Big Think). Their website uses multiple algorithms to allow users to organize content through a voting system and to ensure that new posts receive the same attention as old posts which keeps content both fresh and engaging. • 40. The Auteur Theory Of Walt Disney s Film Film has been a prominent topic in society since its conception. One of the most important physical areas of film creation is located in Hollywood, California. Hollywood has produced some of the most recognizable directors and film creators. Walter Elias Disney is one major example of this. He is still extremely well known because of the vast business he created that is still thriving today. Many people have argued that his career fits within either the classical auteur theory or the structuralist auteur theory, but no argument has been as strong as the one that supports Disney s career as the commercial auteur theory. The fact that Walt Disneys work was very much affected by elements outside of his films shows that his career fits within the commercial, or consumer, auteur film theory. The commercial auteur theory supports the idea that the author is what a person has cultivated to represent themselves. Catherine Grant, the writer of www.auteur.com, calls this cultivation of an intentional self an aura. She presents the idea that the creation of an aura is central to the success of one s commercialism. This creation will result in a sort of cult following that will find the author s work to be a commodity. This cult will begin to seek after certain films just because it was created by this author. This author does not have to be a director. He or she could be an actor or anyone else involved in the filmmaking process. This theory definitely fits the career of Walt ... Romulus knew that a new city like his couldn t survive without women to increase the population, and that they quickly need more. His solution for this is to set a trap for the Sabine women, a festival was announced and people from neighboring cities were invited. Once they arrived, the women were carried off to be married to the men of the city; subsequently the Sabine s reacted and prepared for war against Rome to retrieve their stolen women. From a different perspective, those outside the patient community take a more ethical approach, suggesting that physicians should honor patient autonomy because it is, the mother s role to act as the primary guardian of fetal well being (Minkoff, 2006, p. 311). Therefore, the mother should have the autonomy to decide what happens to lives of her and the baby. With this innate right to self ownership, it would be unjust for another to make decisions without respect to the patient and what happens to these lives. This position on elective cesarean sections is the one I agree with and will argue for. The physicians and governing body of ACOG are the majority in the argument against CSMR. Their collective position on the debate declares, given the risks and benefits the Committee on Obstetric Practice believes that in the absence of maternal and fetal indications for cesarean delivery, a plan for vaginal delivery is safe and appropriate and should be recommended to patients (ACOG, 2013, p. 905). In addition to this guidance, there is foundational evidence about the potential maternal and fetal risks of cesarean sections. But the fact that it is a mystery would indicate that it is presumptive to assume that any part of the Trinity other than Jesus is either male or female. The significance of Jesus is not his maleness but his humanness. In the movie, The DaVinci Code, (although many liberties are taken with the biblical basis and texts), there is a very real focus on the feminine idea behind Christianity. What if women were supposed to carry on the Christian tradition and the church? This idea shakes the very foundation of early and modern Christianity to the core.
