It s all in the display. When an item, such as a watch or a scarf, is displayed in a glass case, it
implies luxury. An item in a glass case with a lot of space around it implies real luxury. Bazaar?
Behavior . Even high fashion stores aren t above using the dumping method to display gloves,
leather goods, scarves and other small items the same way bargain stores do. These bins have a
way of suggesting a good buy . Color is king. Retailers believe consumers are more apt to buy
clothes that appear in full size and color assortments. Suggestion positioning. Once the customer
has already purchased one item, it s easier to sell an additional item. Thus, apparel retailers
strategically place impulse buys like hair bows and costume jewelry by the cashier the same way
supermarket checkouts display candy and magazines. 7. What are the characteristics of effective
point of purchase displays? Marketing materials or advertising placed next to the merchandise it
is promoting. These items are generally located at the checkout area or other location where the
purchase decision is made. Well done point of purchase (POP) displays will draw consumers to
one product over another, or give one store the appearance of being more organized and clean. For
example, the checkout counters of many convenience stores are cluttered with cigarette and candy
POP displays.

The Organ Of Organ Transplantation
One of the most significant issues concerning organ transplantation revolves around the just and
fair distribution of organs. Due to the assorted and occasionally conflicting opinions of what
constitutes as fair , in concurrence with a relative shortage of donated organs, many social, legal
and ethical contentions have arisen. This shortage is portrayed by statistics shown on the NHS
organ donationpage, where approximately 10,000 people are on the waiting list for a solid organ
transplantand approximately 1,000 people die annually whilst waiting for an organ transplant and
in 2013, a record 4,655 patients received a solid organ transplant (National Health Service, 2014).
Furthermore, it is important to observe the fact that the organ donor deficit is growing, even
factoring in the 50 percent increase in live donations since 2008. This deficit can be attributed to
the rate of increase in donated organs falling short of the greater increase in transplant requiring
patients. This can be further illustrated statistically where the number of people requiring organs
has increased from approximately 8,700 to approximately 10,000 between 2005 and 2013
(National Health Service, 2014). There are a myriad of contributing factors that can be held
responsible for the rise in required organs, including the prevalence of diseases inflicted through
lifestyle choices i.e. obesity and smoking, as well as improved medical science resulting in an aging
population. Additionally, there are

Evidence-Based Training for Physical Therapists
Strategies to facilitate the implementation of evidence based physical therapy should emphasis on
amending the barriers known in previous studies and confirmed in the future study. Certain
solutions may be easy, such as improving access to journals, providing easily understandable
summaries and training therapists in searching and appraisal (Iles Davidson 2006).
A current systematic review (Coomarasamy Khan 2005) recommends that clinically integrated
evidence based practice training is more effective than training alone. Education should be
designed towards proficient use of online resources, aiming sources of pre appraised literature (Iles
Davidson 2006).
Physical therapists must regularly involve in self reflection and appraisal to be clear about the
nature and contribution of their expertise and decisions. This practice encompasses an
acknowledgement of practice preferences and behaviors that have developed throughout the years,
knowledge gaps that benefited from further training or education, enable the changing barriers in
their approach to client management (Jewell 2011). For the moment, evidence must be located and
evaluated and its findings interpreted into expressive information that all spouses in the decision
making process can appreciate (American Physical Therapy Association 2001). This incorporation
process may be emphasizing minimized bias on high quality evidence. Subsequently, both clinicians
and clients increase the subjectivity in their decision

The Social Significance And The Effect Of Malls
When hearing the word mall the most common examples that will come to people s mind are
York dale, Scarborough Town Center or Vaughan Mills. They picture these huge supercenters
mini well known stores such as Garage, Le Chateau, H M, Best Buy even Wal Mart, etc. These
places will be filled with large amounts of people shopping. Food courts with a huge line up and
a mini kiosks asking people if you want to try a free sample. The way people view malls are
different depending on their point of view. I hope by the end of this report to show the social
significance and the effect the malls has on us. Describing the Object: Malls can vary from
small regional malls (they contain a cluster of retail stores) and to megamalls offering a
combination of shopping and carnival like diversions to the festival malls specializing in
recreational shopping to the intensely fortified ghetto malls observed by Mike Davis and even
too neighborhood malls (the purpose to is to serve consumers within a radius of two miles)
(source 2). According to BLANK 2 all malls would love to think that they are distinct and can
offer something new to consumers yet they all tend to share common features in terms of
aesthetics, architecture, and design. BLANK 2 states the reason for this is that a high percentage
of malls are planned and built by a few transnational architectural and design firms (source 2). HE
/SHE 2 refers to this as the appropriation of local symbols within the space of the mall since

Personal Note On Self Love And Confidence
When I was younger I didn t know too much about self love and what it really meant. For as long
as I could remember I was always the heavier set girl with the gap. I was the funny girl, the friend
to all the guys. I was raised by my dad and brother, now don t get me wrong my mother was in
my life but she missed my first homecoming , my first crush , even my first period. I did not
realize until I was a little older how much not having a woman around would and could even
affect me.Without her being there I didn t know how to value myself. Now at 23 I am just
starting to get a grasp on what self love and confidence is. I would say that I really started to
struggle with self confidence when I got to high school. When I was in middle school, I had a blast,
but once I entered high school everything changed. I went into it thinking these friendships
would last forever. Boy, was I wrong. I thought these years turn those friendships I had into the
sisters I never had. All it did was give me false ideas of self esteem and depression. I would go to
school daily and walk down the hall with some of the prettiest, most popular girls and guys of
each grade, wishing I was them. High school made me feel like because I wasn t skinny with a
perfect smile and the nicest clothes I wasn t pretty. Guys would always go for my friends who
were smaller than me , didn t have a gap , or wild hair. While in high school I begin to develop
insecurities about my weight and smile.I started to let

The Importance Of Cross Culture Communication
The importance of different languages and cross culture communication are imperative when it
comes to adequate care for patients in the nursing field. The transcultural framework states that
communication is ....a continuous process by which one person may affect another through written
or oral language, gestures, facial expressions, body language, space or other symbols (Giger and
Davidhizar, 2008, pg. 20). There are many barriers in nursing when it comes to communication with
patients from different cultures. The need for an interpreter would be crucial for patient diagnoses
and outcomes. Finding the appropriate tools and resources is heavily depended on to achieve
quality health care of different ethnicities.
Model Applied to Basque Children and Families The Basque community as a whole are a very
close, tight knit family regardless if it means they are related by blood or not. The Roman Catholic
religion populates for about 94% of the Basque country. Aside from religion, activities outside the
home such as sporting events and traditional festivities throughout the year are ways they define
their culture. It is important for them to keep these going from generation to generation. Every
culture has the same framework model, but with differences depending on location geographically.
This paper explores the Basque culture and how their beliefs and values on children and family
affect the way they live. As mentioned in Galanti s text there are four C s of

How Did Thomas Edison Contribute To Government
Thomas Alva Edison was born in Milan, Ohio, February 11, 1847. The Edisons came from
Holland in 1730 first settling in Elizabethport, New Jersey. The Edisons had a long proclaimed
history of long lived males, with his great grandfather living until 104 and his grandfather until the
matured age of 102. Back in the early 1800s, the Edison family fled to Canada among many others
interested in the loyalist movement that offered a 600 acre grant to those who moved to the
province of Nova Scotia. Thomas Edisons grandfather was born on Canadian soil, thus hindering
the detailed reports of Edison family. Many years later, Samuel Edison was born and without much
money in the family. Not much is known about Samuel s life besides wedding Miss Nancy... Show

With a head too big for his body and a weak small body, Edison s doctors were worried he had
brain damage. Though Edison was horrid at school, he was an zealous reader and always had
his nose in a book. Edison also had a superb memory being able to clearly remember all the way
back to his toddler years. Edison was so lacking in what was needed of a student of his age that
he was not allowed to go to school for some time. Luckily his mother had the training and was
able to give him a much higher education than the public schools could provide at any given
time. Though Edison loved to read, he was aslo always interested in how things worked. Either
the bridge or the train, Edison loved to watch the world around him come together. As Edison
grew into a man, the family moved from Milan, Ohio to Port Huron, Michigan. While in
Michigan, Edison s mother began to grow old and sick. Edison s father began new work in the
grain and feed distribution business. As he grew older, his father paid him for each factual book
he read and soon after Edison began his own laboratory of sorts. Edison had a love for chemistry
and once he had his hands on a book of chemistry experiments he completed every experiment
there was and labeled all his bottles of chemicals from the drugstore as poison so no one would
lay a hand on them. Realizing he had meager cash to spend on his experiments, he went to find a

universally acknowledged. It turns everything upside down, and never was that better demonstrated
than in Tennessee Williams masterpiece, A Streetcar Named Desire

Plant Hormones
Plant hormones are specialized chemical substances produced by plants. They are the main internal
factors controlling growth and development. Hormones are produced in one part of a plant and
transported to others, where they are effective in very small amounts. Depending on the target
tissue, a given hormonemay have different effects.
Plant hormones play an integral role in controlling the growth and development of plants. A plant
hormone is generally described as an organic compound synthesized in one part of the plant and
translocated to another part, where in low concentrations elicits a physiological response.
There are five generally recognized classes of plant hormones; some of the classes are represented
by only one compound, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There have been over 90 GA s isolated, all of which are most likely not essential to the plant.
Instead, these forms are probably inactive precursors or breakdown products of active gibberellins.
Function:
Active gibberellins show many physiological effects, each depending on the type of gibberellin
present as well as the species of plant. Some of the physiological processes stimulated by
gibberellins are:
1.Stimulate stem elongation by stimulating cell division and elongation.
2.Stimulates bolting/flowering in response to long days.
3.Breaks seed dormancy in some plants which require stratification or light to induce germination.
4.Stimulates enzyme production (a amylase) in germinating cereal grains for mobilization of seed
reserves.
5.Induces maleness in dioecious flowers (sex expression).
6.Can cause parthenocarpic (seedless) fruit development.
7.Can delay senescence in leaves and citrus fruits.
Cytokinins: Nature of Cytokinins
Cytokinins are compounds with a structure resembling adenine which promote cell division and
have other similar functions to kinetin. Kinetin was the first cytokinin discovered and so named
because of the compounds ability to promote cytokinesis. Though it is a natural compound, It is not
made in plants, and is therefore usually considered a synthetic cytokinin (meaning that the hormone

Mexican War Research Paper
Wars and Revolutions happen all around the world. Every war and revolution started because of its
own reasons. Some are to gain power, land or freedom. One revolution that stands out to me was
the Mexican War of independence. It started in 1810 and ended 1821. The war is significant
compared to the other Latin American War of Independence. The American and French Revolution
influenced this war of independence. The Mexicocannot stay behind and still be controlled by the
Spanish; they decided to start their revolution to make themselves free. After 11 years of fighting,
they finally defeated the Spain and declared themselves free. This war was significant not only
because they are the first Mexican Empire to gains independence from Spain. Also... Show more

in Mexico s independence. (Softschools.com) Miguel stood up the rights and defeated the Spain.
He is brave enough to defeat the Spain and bring peace and freedom to the people in 1821. Now
the Mexicans got the freedom back, thanks to Miguel. Mexicans celebrated this event every year,
almost all around the world to remember how they were struggling in the beginning of the war.
September 16th is an important day to the Mexico, they gather together and celebrate the day as a
country. Its like the Fourth of July in America, people come together and celebrate with food,

and a source of inspiration for people fighting for justice. (http://www.donquijote.org) because he is

The Problem Of Reproducing High Dynamic Range
1 ABSTRACT The problem of reproducing high dynamic range images on devices with
restricted dynamic range has gained a lot of interest in the computer graphics community. In this
paper, new adjustment tone mapping method is presented for displaying high dynamic range
image on low dynamic range device without any lose in image details and preserves image
contrast. Instead of linearly scaling the luminance of all pixels or introduce local gamma
correction with adaptive parameters for all pixels, the paper core idea is using linear operator in
specific pixels and using nonlinear operator in another pixels according to guidance map. The
optimal compression can п¬Ѓnally be achieved by solving the optimization problem that integrates
all window based constraints which can be transformed to a sparse linear equation. 2
INTRODUCTION High dynamic range is a digital photography technique that collect multiple
exposures of the same scene where captured with different exposure settings and merged using
image editing camera software to create a more realistic image called HDR images. The dynamic
range of a scene, image or imaging device is defined as the ratio of the highest to the lowest
luminance or signal level. High dynamic range image can capture great dynamic rage that
represents the whole tonal range of real world scenes. HDR image is encoded in a format that
allows the largest range of values using floating point values stored with 32 bits per color channel,

In the history, the first conception of materials appeared in 1865. It was a book named Prehistoric
Times (by John Lubbock). And also, he mentioned three age system in material history. They are
The Stone Age, The Bronze Age and The Iron Agerespectively. The reason why archaeologists
called these durations those name is the people who live in that period used different kinds of
materials to make different generation of tools. According to John s book, The Stone Age is
divided into Beginning Of The Stone Age and End Of The Stone Age.[14] (Source ?) The oldest
evidence of stone tool found use in fossilised animals bones, in the Lower Awash Valley until now
there are 3.4 million years ago.[11] Same as The Stone Age, the first tool found and made by
materials of bronze is the symbol of starting The Bronze Age. But the interesting phenomenon is
that in the world, there are various areas people established industry of smelting bronze almost
during a millennia, in particular, China is the earliest country found using bronze container

technique of smelting bronze, using carbon or tin to make alloy, and they used this skill in iron

Cause And Effect Of Global Warming
Global warming or climate change is a very serious problem in the world today. Global warming
is the current increase in temperature of the Earth s surface (both land and water) as well as its
atmosphere, says Emily Crouse. Global temperatures have risen about 1.4В°F over the last hundred
years. As small and unimportant as this sounds, it is extremely dangerous for this Earth. If the
temperature has risen this much in 100 years what will happen in 1,000? Rising temperatures
mean rising sea levels, more wildfires, bigger and stronger storms, more allergies and disease
outbreaks, and so much more. There are many causes of global warming, whether it be by human or
naturally, for instance, deforestation or the burning of fossil fuels contributes to global warming in
a negative way.
Human disturbance plays a huge role in the effect of global warming. 97% percent of scientists
say humans are to blame for global warming. This is because the 40% rise of carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere since the Industrial Revolution or the 70 million metric tons of carbon dioxide we
add to the atmosphere every single day. Simple everyday activities like driving a car or things
businesses do daily like burn fossil fuels or certain businesses like cutting down trees all add
carbon. Cars emit around 24 pounds of carbon dioxide and other global warming gases for every
gallon of gas. Many car companies are finding ways to solve it by creating cars that run on
electricity or energy. A big new brand, named Tesla, has started coming out with cars like that for
expensive prices but significantly lowered them when they realized how much people loved them.
They are soon releasing a moderate priced car for the same benefits. This is just one example of
the ways humans are contributing to the environment in a negative way by tweaking the global
temperature and trying bit by bit to fix it.
As much as humans contribute, natural causes are a big as well. Mostly, the temperature is rising
due to the sun s variation of light. This change in solar radiation is related to the number of
sunspots. Sunspots are darker areas on the sun s surface. When they happen they come closer to
earth s atmosphere and cause the change in solar radiation.

Hiram Miller—a Essay
Yizhou Xu Section 002 Case: Hiram Miller A
I, the general manager of Hiram Miller Chicago branch, am considering we should have something
done with our current warehouse on Jefferson Street. The basic problem is that the 60 year old
warehouse is not capable for our daily business from many aspects any more as we move into the
21st century. Due to many limitations, the shortcomings to run that warehouse are overwhelming
the advantages it remains. Small size, inefficient layout, obsolete facilities, low tech equipments and
bad working environment are dragging our company down within such an intense competition ...

The quality of the warehouse and the equipments can be improved if we whitewash the warehouse
and replace some old machines with the news. The working environment will be polished up and
make the work more efficient, meanwhile, will not change the basic operating structure. For
example, good condition elevators can eliminate the battle between the shipping and receiving
departments. The second choice is finding a third party warehouse which meets our basic
requirements. We can utilize third party to manage the warehouse and reach our goal as well.
Finally, we can build a new warehouse near the O Hare Airport where has ample of land so that
we can construct a warehouse fully meets our requirements. For our long term benefits, I
strongly suggest to build a new warehouse near the airport. Renovation is a short term solution
and just keeps our business work normally and I cannot believe how long that old fashion
building would maintain. The core problems are the weak floor and the low ceilings which
cannot be restructured. Those will constrain heavy equipment to move in. The work needs to be
done by hand which means slow and more workers. On another hand, if we rent a warehouse
rather than own by ourselves, we will lose the control of the warehouse even though it solves our
problems. Thus, the effective communication and the specialized service may be the problems.
Despite of sacrificing the advantages of inner city location like vicinity of our

Human Rights And Women s Rights
Introduction:
If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, let it be that human rights are women
s rights and women s rights are human rights once and for all. On September 5, 1995, 180 countries
came together in Beijing China to hear first lady Hillary Clinton s speech about women s rights.
This speech was the United Nations Fourth World Conference of Women. The target audience for
this speech is governments and other organizations that can help meet the goal of making women s
rights human rights. She addressed problems that every single country faced concerning the
liberties of women, and why it was important that they receive these freedoms. The speech was
courageous and considered path breaking too many in its demand for action. The great challenge of
this conference is to give voice to women everywhere whose experiences go unnoticed, whose
words go unheard. Hillary Clinton has become famous for the statement: Women s rights are human
rights. She is known as one of the greatest women of our time, combining intelligence, compassion
and bravery.
Summary:
For Aristotle, the ethos of a speaker is persuasive when the speech demonstrates practical wisdom,
moral virtue, and goodwill toward the audience. (Aristotle s Rhetoric) Clinton makes it clear that
she understands and is an important person covering the topic. Over the past 25 years, I have

to fall into the ultrasonic than to lose it. A jeweler can usually set the stone for you which is

Never clean your jewelry in a sink where it could fall into the drain.
There is an old wives tale of using toothpaste as a home remedy for cleaning jewelry. Toothpaste
is abrasive and can harm fine jewelry by leaving scratches. There are You Tube videos where
cheap jewelry is cleaned with toothpaste, but never use it to clean fine jewelry or anything which
has a high gloss finish.
There are many articles on the internet which suggest using household items like Windex, alcohol,

Essay on Kabuki and Bunraku Art
As we know, Japanese culture is ancient, rich and assorted. It is considered a millennium culture,
with lots of traditions and beliefs that make it very attractive. These traditions and beliefs are
expressed, among other ways, through the performing arts, as: theatre, cinema, ballet, dance, etc.
which somehow express the identity of the Japanese people. Within these performing arts we can
find to BUNRAKUand KABUKI which belong to this kind of art, but they are two expressions
very different from each other.
Concerning the set in scene, Bunraku consists in puppets which are handled each one by three
people, who are behind the puppets and move them with the right hand from one side to another on
the stage. In contrast, in Kabuki the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are lots of attempts, on the wife s side, to get along with her husband. But everything ends up
in a negative way, with the suicide of the husband. On the other hand, Kabuki #180;s plot point out
the relationship between parents and children, about the problem that exist when parents ignore to
their children and don t give them the attention that the children need. This is represented by a fox
which is obsessed with a drum. We can see a beautiful woman knocking this drum and ignoring the
presence of the fox. Unlike Bunraku, Kabuki has a happy end, where parents and children achieve
to be in touch.
Concerning the training of the actors; in Bunraku they have to have, at least, ten years of
experience in the management of the puppets. This is the reason of the skill in the so natural
movements of these puppets that amaze to everybody. To reach this purpose, these actors have to
practice around three hours per day. On the other hand, Kabuki requires from the actors a
physical training, a kind of circus training, because they have to make many jumps from different
places on the stage. To do this, they have to have a balanced diet, low in calories. The practice of
the exercises must be at least four days per week.
Both Bunraku and Kabuky make use of the voice resource, so the actors have to create a voice
and a way of speak for every character; but in Bunraku there are only human characters, in the case
of Kabuki, the

Drunk Driving In Texas
People in the Houston area, and throughout the state of Texas, are commonly arrested for suspicion
of drunk driving. In fact, the state s Department of Public Safety reports that there were 89,256
people arrested for driving under the influence in 2012 alone. Often, those facing such charges
choose to forego hiring an attorney, and instead handle their legal issues on their own. Even for
those facing first time offenses, however, it may be useful to obtain legal representation.
Familiarity with the legal rules and standards
For some, drunk driving charges can be confusing. This is because the charges people may face,
and the potential penalties, vary based on a number of factors, including their blood alcohol
content levels. Unlike the average person, DUI attorneys are typically well versed in the legal rules
and standards pertaining to alcohol related offenses. Therefore, ... Show more content on

Furthermore, they understand the factors that may compromise field sobriety tests and breath tests.
Thus, it may be helpful for drivers who have been arrested for DUI to obtain legal representation.
An attorney may question the accuracy of these types of tests, as well as whether their rights were
upheld during the traffic stops that led to their arrests.
Dealing with the consequences
If convicted of drunk driving in Texas, people face a range of potential penalties. According to
the state s Department of Transportation, these consequences may include jail time, a driver s
license suspension, and fines and fees. With few exceptions, DUI lawyers are familiar with these
penalties, and how they are typically imposed. Additionally, they may have knowledge of other
options, which may limit the legal repercussions people face if convicted of this offense. In some
cases, for example, an attorney may be able to negotiate for his client to be enrolled in an alcohol
treatment program in lieu of jail time.

A Harbinger of Danger and Discontent We collect the content and other information you provide

Users say the advances in technology and social media will not affect their privacy; however, it is
proven that these advances can be a harbinger of both danger and discontent. Our nation is built
upon its foundation from the United States Constitution and its Bill of Rights. Included within this

right to privacy. Within in this amendment, it is stated that the right of the people to be secure in

The Budget Deficit In The United States
The U.S government is spend way too much money. One of the biggest problems the facing the

There are many solution to fixing the problem. On October 17 the United States debt was over $17

The United States should bring our troops home from Afghanistan. With the Taliban nearly

The appropriate assessment of patients prior to surgery to identify coexisting medical problems and
to plan peri operative care is of increasing importance. The goals of peri operative assessment are to

On the corner of 41st and Broadway, the T Mobile ad s simple use of color (rather lack thereof),
subject, and text gives off a minimalistic and almost boring feel. The simplicity left me
wondering whether or not the concept and the ad s message correlate with one another. These
different aspects show the easiness and the all inclusive atmosphere that T Mobile is offering.
There are only three colors on this ad: pink, black, and white. The pink background is a
representation of T Mobile s signature color and the subject and text are in black and white.
There is one man standing on a white ladder in the ad. He is wearing a black button up and black

Part A
For this part of the analysis, consider each department in the Gdansk factory in isolation. Assume
that the rest of the production system has no impact on the department you are considering. Assume
that material handling times are negligible and ignore variability in processing times.
1. For the typical 100 pair batch, what is the daily capacity and manufacturing lead time within each
of the following departments?
a. Cutting
8 hrs/day x 60 min/hr = 480 min/day
Machine 1 = (0.05 x 4)(100) + (5.25 x 4) = 41 min/batch
Machine 2 = (0.05 x 4)(100) + (5.00 x 4) = 40 min/batch
Machine 3 = (0.04 x 4)(100) + (4.00 x 4) = 32 min/batch

Therefore, the time given is the time it takes to stamp 1 of the 4 components on one machine.
Another assumption I have made is the workers performing the stitching are all equally paced. It
takes each worker the exact same amount of time to perform their duties and pass the product along
to the next group.
Part B
Now consider the factory as a system, and take into account interactions between the departments.
3. Assuming production is done in 100 pair batches, what is the factory s daily capacity?
Cutting 41 min/batch
Stitching 133 min/batch
Lasting 33.2 min/batch
Capacity of the Factory = 480 min/day Г· 133 min/batch = 3.6 batches/day
4. What is the total MLT for a 100 pair batch?
MLT
Cutting= 41 min/batch
Kitting= 10 min/batch
Stitching= 133 min/batch
Steaming= 6 hrs x 60 min = 360 min/batch
Lasting= 33.2 min/batch
TOTAL MLT= 577.2 min/batch
Part C
5. How would you go about deciding the appropriate batch size for the Stonehaven factory? What
factors would you consider? How do they interrelate? (You may wish to do some calculations, but
concentrate on thinking conceptually.)
6. Focus only on your highest priorities for improving the production process at Stonehaven s
Gdansk factory (be specific). Explain why they are important. What actions do you recommend?
How would you implement your recommendations? What do you predict will be the consequences?

To spare you is no profit, to destroy you is no loss. Pol Pot, the leader of the Khmer Rouge, once

the true horrors of what was happening in Cambodia. The terrible events left emotional scars and

In total, over two million people died and many suffered from psychological illnesses (Walker 1).
The events that happened in Cambodia showed every sign of being genocide. Mass killings took
place, emotional scars were left, and cruel treatment was inflicted.
This issue is genocide because of the mass killings that occurred. The Khmer Rouge was brutal
and killed anybody that they thought couldn t work or was in opposition to their ideals. Cambodia
lost 25% of its population, with over two millions killed. When more than two million innocent
people are killed, it is hard, if not impossible to call what happened in Cambodia, not Genocide.
Many people witnessed the deaths of their family and friends, leaving them with nightmares and
emotional scars (Carney 1).
Another strong argument that helps prove what happened in Cambodia was genocide was the
terrible treatment that the people were forced to endure every day. The Khmer Rouge was
relentless with what they did. They weren t afraid to kill someone, nor did they think twice about
it. Just the ruthlessness alone, can prove that this was genocide. The Khmer Rouge was brutal and
unforgiving; forcing people to work in terrible conditions and perform treacherous labor. The
Khmer Rouge would kill anyone who opposed this work. Due to the horrible conditions the people
worked in and the ruthless killings, the fields in which the people worked were called the

Manipulation Of Brutus In Shakespeare s Julius Caesar
I would have to agree with Antony in saying that Brutus was the noblest Roman of them all. Not
only is he smart but he only conspired against Caesar for the sake of Rome. He believes that Caesar
was not a good leader and had too big of an ego. Other characters acted out of their own selfish
reasons like greed and their want for power. Brutus truly loves his country and is devoted to it and
it s people but this strong devotion may also be his weakness.
Since Brutus is so devoted to Rome this allows him to be easily manipulated Cassius to use that to

The International Monetary Fund ( Imf )
Introduction
In the statement of the 2015 Article IV Consultation Mission to China, the International Monetary
Fund (IMF) concluded that the Chinese economy was transitioning to a safer and higher quality
growth. In particular, the IMF highlighted that China had made good progress in recent years in
reducing its large current account surpluses and its huge accumulation of foreign exchange reserves.
Although undervaluation of the yuan was a major factor causing the large imbalances in the past,
the appreciation of the yuan over the past few years had brought the yuan USD exchange rate to a
level that was no longer undervalued.
Exchange rate, the price of a nation s currency in terms of another currency, indicates the value
of a currency: a higher exchange rate is associated with a relatively lower value of its
corresponding currency. Since Chinese goods are usually valued in yuan, the only currency that is
valuable for Chinese is yuan. That is, a Chinese is only interested in selling and purchasing goods
in yuan. Foreign consumers, such as Americans, have to use yuan rather than dollars to purchase
goods from Chinese sellers. Specifically, an American must exchange his dollars into yuan at first
and then uses yuan to purchase Chinese goods. In other words, the yuan USD exchange rate works
as a tool to measure the price of the dollar in yuan.
Facing the threat of trade sanctions by the U.S. Congress, China announced that it would replace its
decade old currency peg with a

Importance Of Servant Leadership And Indian Culture
Servant Leadership In Indian Culture and Hindu Religion
Although servant leadership is often associated with Christianity and assessed in a Biblical context,
it is important to recognize that servant leadership is present in other religions and cultural contexts
as well. Servant leadership has the capability to exist in any environment where there is humility,
selflessness, and a commitment to exhorting and empowering one s followers. Historically, the best
servant leaders have come from a variety of eras, cultures, ethnicities, and religions, proving that
servant leadership transcends all demographic and religious boundaries and is founded on a core
set of beliefs and values. This paper will aim to discuss servant leadership in the context of the
Hindu religion and the culture of India, proving that servant leadership promotes unifying people
rather than dividing by religious and cultural differences.
Servant Leadership in the Indian Culture
Culture is to a human collectivity is what personality is to an individual (Hofstede, 2001). By this,
Hofstede means that culture aids in identifying a people group in the same way that a personality
identifies a person. This means that in the same way that people with differing personalities but
similar values can be servant leaders, unique cultures with the same foundational emphasis on
service and leadership can practice servant leadership. This is important to remember when

Introduction And Our Current Business Value Chain
1. Introduction and our Current Business Value Chain
Value chain is defined as the set of activities that a firm operating in a specific industry performs
in order to deliver a valuable product or service to the market. Michael Porter first described this
concept in the 1980 s, and many businesses focus on their specific activities based on this idea.
Due to the nature of our business and the industry we are in, it is clear that our restaurant s value
chain consists of small business, consumer based activities. The primary activities in our value
chain are the purchases of raw foods, inventory control and restaurant operations, logistics, customer
service, marketing, and sales. The support activities are our accounting, finance, and systems
support departments, as well as the legal, environmental, and safety requirements me must adhere
to. The process of hiring, firing, and training is important in our human resource department also.
All of the above listed activities have an equal degree of importance when it comes to delivering
valuable food and service in our restaurant. We need the capital to buy high quality raw foods in
order to satisfy our customers, the staff, both front and back of house, to cook the meals and serve
them in a timely matter; as well as the systems support to monitor our revenues and table turnover.
As for the primary activities, we must purchase our raw foods and get them delivered in a

Financial Advertising in India
INSURANCE SECTOR
ADVERTISING
Insurance ads in india have come a long way in the last three decades. Be it television
commercials, print ads, or bill boards. The change is remarkably noticeable. Earlier most of the
advertising in this sector tended to play crudely on our consistent fear of the future and the
unknown. A case in point being the television advertisement of firms like United India Assurance,
National Insurance and Oriental Insurance. All the aforementioned companies provided insurance
policies for contingencies like fire, robbery and natural disasters. Television commercials of that
time tended to be rawly cooked scripts put together in the doors of hard sell copy. All of them

One aspect that remained constant throughout were the seasonal ads spread across all major
Indian festivals. The overall image that SBI has managed to retain is that of a surly wisecrack
devoid of a human face. Specific regions meant ads in the local language or dialect even though
the sensibilities of the visual would be more or less pan Indian. Accordingly the advertising was
pretty much stagnant upto the mid 90 s when banks all over the world suddenly started touting
their wider array of services. The creatives were often compromised in order to make for a
greater resonance with the local sensibilities involved. Regionally affiliated branches of the bank
like State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Maharashtra, State Bank of Indore etc sparsely took out
any ads of their own and even the ones released were very diminutive.
The upheaval started around the mid 90 s when State Bank of India started come out with a
spate of well thought and visually compact ads. One of them, for instance had a picture of a stick
shielding a golden egg from being crushed by a brick with the tagline Before You attached to it.
The message was stark and well crafted. This was followed by a phase where State Bank of India
started to advertise its wide range of services across the country.
The positional leverage of the Surprisingly SBI campaign was the fact that the bank had singularly

thing I liked about how the book was crafted was the scenery. The author made the scenery look
like any other small town. It has a library called the Herman W. Block Memorial Library,

where Opal received her first job. Every student including myself can picture these places in

of these places and many students can relate to this in some way or another. The last point that
stood out to me about the crafting of this book was the plot. The author used recurring plots. A
plot that is mentioned in one part of the book but then comes up in another part but gives a
larger meaning then before. For instance, Otis tells Opal he has has a dark past and was arrested

What Is The Theme Of Midnight Dreary
Poe s Gothic work exceled at portraying its theme, death, and the effect it has on the living. Poe
employs the use of symbols to depict and impersonate the meaning he is instilling of his readers.
He leads us into exploring the speaker s journey of emotions and self obscurity. Poe transports his
readers immediately to the scene with his use of imagery, midnight dreary (Line 1), bleak
December (Line 7). Establishing a very cold, gloomy and dark setting, one that the speaker
connects directly to since he is full with sorrow (Line 9).
In the first stanza, a speaker who is feeling weak and weary (Line 1) is introduced. Over many a
quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore (Line 2), augmenting the somber ambience, the speaker

Nevermore the bird replies. The bird is staying for good, Never flitting, still is sitting (Line 102).
It is safe to say that the speaker is very emotionally unstable and vulnerable. The Raven s
appearance significantly affected him. In his quest of forgetting Lenore, he ends up much more
traumatized, and the Raven makes sure of this. The bird s refrain drove the speaker crazy. Lenore
nevermore will be with him, the bird will remind him this of this eternally, obsessing him and

Deaf Art Is More Than Just A Painting Or Drawing
Deaf Art Deaf art is more than just a painting or drawing. So, what exactly is Deaf art? Deaf art
is something that can bring together the Deaf Community. The feelings that the Deaf experience
are now brought onto a canvas. Art plays a huge role in the Deaf community. After all, the Deaf
are thought of as the best visual people. Deaf artists bring their Deaf pride and pour their hearts
out into their art works. They are great role models to the people in their community. The first Deaf
artists from America started in the 1760 s through the early 1800 s. Most of these artists painted
portraits of American settlers in wanting to be recognized. There were no art museums or schools,
so they taught themselves. These artists tried making their living by painting portraits for the
wealthy people. Their artworks were not much different from the hearing world s artwork at the
time since there was not a Deaf culturethat was developed yet. Most Deaf artists did not even
know of another Deaf person at that time. The more American developed, the more Deaf schools
were being established. Artists started to study art in France and Europe. Many of their arts
reflected European styles because of this. As more Deaf schools established, many Deaf
communities formed a Deaf culture and emerged. The artists in the communities made their
artworks reflecting their lifestyle and surroundings. Deaf art is now well known within the Deaf
culture. Many Deaf artists use their life experiences

Keats says, A thing of beauty is a joy for ever. Flowers are also a thing of beauty and joy for ever.
Our beloved world poet Tagore claims, nowhere would thou find such a land, queen of all lands,
my beloved motherland. Flowers are loved by one and all. I think, there is hardly any person
who does not love flowers. Flowers may be called the queen of beauties of nature. They add
enormously to the surpassing beauty of Bangladesh. Our poets and writers are captivated by their
eye catching beauty. They fill their hearts with soft emotions and feelings for both truth and beauty.
They become inclined to compose writings about them. To quote a beautiful rhyme, Fuler gandhe
ghum ase na akla jage roi, the same spirit is also found in the expression of tagore, flowers? In the
flower garden? No, thou shall not find it there. Search your heart and thou shall find spring therein.
In fact, flowers enlighten our mind, heart and soul with a spiritual light blended with delicate

Chekov Upper Class
For centuries, those who have lower societal class have always been dehumanized and ridiculed,
for no other reason than having less money than the higher class. In the story, An Upheaval, as
well as the short film, I m Not the Indian You Had in Mind, material objects are used to show the
seemingly drastic differences between two social standings. This is important because in order
for society to function prosperously, the wise thing to do is to get rid of this thinking, so people
no longer have to face this inhumane discrimination. In Chekov s An Upheaval, Lady Fenya s
missing brooch is a symbol that represents how the upper class society has a misconstrued view of
the lower class. For example, when Mashenka finds out that

  • 3. The Organ Of Organ Transplantation One of the most significant issues concerning organ transplantation revolves around the just and fair distribution of organs. Due to the assorted and occasionally conflicting opinions of what constitutes as fair , in concurrence with a relative shortage of donated organs, many social, legal and ethical contentions have arisen. This shortage is portrayed by statistics shown on the NHS organ donationpage, where approximately 10,000 people are on the waiting list for a solid organ transplantand approximately 1,000 people die annually whilst waiting for an organ transplant and in 2013, a record 4,655 patients received a solid organ transplant (National Health Service, 2014). Furthermore, it is important to observe the fact that the organ donor deficit is growing, even factoring in the 50 percent increase in live donations since 2008. This deficit can be attributed to the rate of increase in donated organs falling short of the greater increase in transplant requiring patients. This can be further illustrated statistically where the number of people requiring organs has increased from approximately 8,700 to approximately 10,000 between 2005 and 2013 (National Health Service, 2014). There are a myriad of contributing factors that can be held responsible for the rise in required organs, including the prevalence of diseases inflicted through lifestyle choices i.e. obesity and smoking, as well as improved medical science resulting in an aging population. Additionally, there are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Evidence-Based Training for Physical Therapists Strategies to facilitate the implementation of evidence based physical therapy should emphasis on amending the barriers known in previous studies and confirmed in the future study. Certain solutions may be easy, such as improving access to journals, providing easily understandable summaries and training therapists in searching and appraisal (Iles Davidson 2006). A current systematic review (Coomarasamy Khan 2005) recommends that clinically integrated evidence based practice training is more effective than training alone. Education should be designed towards proficient use of online resources, aiming sources of pre appraised literature (Iles Davidson 2006). Physical therapists must regularly involve in self reflection and appraisal to be clear about the nature and contribution of their expertise and decisions. This practice encompasses an acknowledgement of practice preferences and behaviors that have developed throughout the years, knowledge gaps that benefited from further training or education, enable the changing barriers in their approach to client management (Jewell 2011). For the moment, evidence must be located and evaluated and its findings interpreted into expressive information that all spouses in the decision making process can appreciate (American Physical Therapy Association 2001). This incorporation process may be emphasizing minimized bias on high quality evidence. Subsequently, both clinicians and clients increase the subjectivity in their decision ... • 5. The Social Significance And The Effect Of Malls When hearing the word mall the most common examples that will come to people s mind are York dale, Scarborough Town Center or Vaughan Mills. They picture these huge supercenters mini well known stores such as Garage, Le Chateau, H M, Best Buy even Wal Mart, etc. These places will be filled with large amounts of people shopping. Food courts with a huge line up and a mini kiosks asking people if you want to try a free sample. The way people view malls are different depending on their point of view. I hope by the end of this report to show the social significance and the effect the malls has on us. Describing the Object: Malls can vary from small regional malls (they contain a cluster of retail stores) and to megamalls offering a combination of shopping and carnival like diversions to the festival malls specializing in recreational shopping to the intensely fortified ghetto malls observed by Mike Davis and even too neighborhood malls (the purpose to is to serve consumers within a radius of two miles) (source 2). According to BLANK 2 all malls would love to think that they are distinct and can offer something new to consumers yet they all tend to share common features in terms of aesthetics, architecture, and design. BLANK 2 states the reason for this is that a high percentage of malls are planned and built by a few transnational architectural and design firms (source 2). I did not realize until I was a little older how much not having a woman around would and could even affect me.Without her being there I didn t know how to value myself. Now at 23 I am just starting to get a grasp on what self love and confidence is. I would say that I really started to struggle with self confidence when I got to high school. When I was in middle school, I had a blast, but once I entered high school everything changed. I went into it thinking these friendships would last forever. Boy, was I wrong. I thought these years turn those friendships I had into the sisters I never had. All it did was give me false ideas of self esteem and depression. I would go to school daily and walk down the hall with some of the prettiest, most popular girls and guys of each grade, wishing I was them. High school made me feel like because I wasn t skinny with a perfect smile and the nicest clothes I wasn t pretty. The Importance Of Cross Culture Communication The importance of different languages and cross culture communication are imperative when it comes to adequate care for patients in the nursing field. The transcultural framework states that communication is ....a continuous process by which one person may affect another through written or oral language, gestures, facial expressions, body language, space or other symbols (Giger and Davidhizar, 2008, pg. 20). • 12. The Problem Of Reproducing High Dynamic Range 1 ABSTRACT The problem of reproducing high dynamic range images on devices with restricted dynamic range has gained a lot of interest in the computer graphics community. In this paper, new adjustment tone mapping method is presented for displaying high dynamic range image on low dynamic range device without any lose in image details and preserves image contrast. Instead of linearly scaling the luminance of all pixels or introduce local gamma correction with adaptive parameters for all pixels, the paper core idea is using linear operator in specific pixels and using nonlinear operator in another pixels according to guidance map. The optimal compression can п¬Ѓnally be achieved by solving the optimization problem that integrates all window based constraints which can be transformed to a sparse linear equation. 2 INTRODUCTION High dynamic range is a digital photography technique that collect multiple exposures of the same scene where captured with different exposure settings and merged using image editing camera software to create a more realistic image called HDR images. The dynamic range of a scene, image or imaging device is deп¬Ѓned as the ratio of the highest to the lowest luminance or signal level. High dynamic range image can capture great dynamic rage that represents the whole tonal range of real world scenes. HDR image is encoded in a format that allows the largest range of values using floating point values stored with 32 bits per color channel, but the modern ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Cause And Effect Of Global Warming Global warming or climate change is a very serious problem in the world today. Global warming is the current increase in temperature of the Earth s surface (both land and water) as well as its atmosphere, says Emily Crouse. Global temperatures have risen about 1.4В°F over the last hundred years. As small and unimportant as this sounds, it is extremely dangerous for this Earth. If the temperature has risen this much in 100 years what will happen in 1,000? Rising temperatures mean rising sea levels, more wildfires, bigger and stronger storms, more allergies and disease outbreaks, and so much more. There are many causes of global warming, whether it be by human or naturally, for instance, deforestation or the burning of fossil fuels contributes to global warming in a negative way. Human disturbance plays a huge role in the effect of global warming. 97% percent of scientists say humans are to blame for global warming. This is because the 40% rise of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere since the Industrial Revolution or the 70 million metric tons of carbon dioxide we add to the atmosphere every single day. Simple everyday activities like driving a car or things businesses do daily like burn fossil fuels or certain businesses like cutting down trees all add carbon. Cars emit around 24 pounds of carbon dioxide and other global warming gases for every gallon of gas. Many car companies are finding ways to solve it by creating cars that run on electricity or energy. A big new brand, named Tesla, has started coming out with cars like that for expensive prices but significantly lowered them when they realized how much people loved them. They are soon releasing a moderate priced car for the same benefits. This is just one example of the ways humans are contributing to the environment in a negative way by tweaking the global temperature and trying bit by bit to fix it. As much as humans contribute, natural causes are a big as well. Mostly, the temperature is rising due to the sun s variation of light. This change in solar radiation is related to the number of sunspots. Sunspots are darker areas on the sun s surface. When they happen they come closer to earth s atmosphere and cause the change in solar radiation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The working environment will be polished up and make the work more efficient, meanwhile, will not change the basic operating structure. We can utilize third party to manage the warehouse and reach our goal as well. Finally, we can build a new warehouse near the O Hare Airport where has ample of land so that we can construct a warehouse fully meets our requirements. For our long term benefits, I strongly suggest to build a new warehouse near the airport. Renovation is a short term solution and just keeps our business work normally and I cannot believe how long that old fashion building would maintain. The core problems are the weak floor and the low ceilings which cannot be restructured. Those will constrain heavy equipment to move in. The work needs to be done by hand which means slow and more workers. On another hand, if we rent a warehouse rather than own by ourselves, we will lose the control of the warehouse even though it solves our problems. Thus, the effective communication and the specialized service may be the problems. Despite of sacrificing the advantages of inner city location like vicinity of our ... Human Rights And Women s Rights Introduction: If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, let it be that human rights are women s rights and women s rights are human rights once and for all. On September 5, 1995, 180 countries came together in Beijing China to hear first lady Hillary Clinton s speech about women s rights. This speech was the United Nations Fourth World Conference of Women. The target audience for this speech is governments and other organizations that can help meet the goal of making women s rights human rights. She addressed problems that every single country faced concerning the liberties of women, and why it was important that they receive these freedoms. The speech was courageous and considered path breaking too many in its demand for action. The great challenge of this conference is to give voice to women everywhere whose experiences go unnoticed, whose words go unheard. Hillary Clinton has become famous for the statement: Women s rights are human rights. She is known as one of the greatest women of our time, combining intelligence, compassion and bravery. The International Monetary Fund ( Imf ) Introduction In the statement of the 2015 Article IV Consultation Mission to China, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) concluded that the Chinese economy was transitioning to a safer and higher quality growth. In particular, the IMF highlighted that China had made good progress in recent years in reducing its large current account surpluses and its huge accumulation of foreign exchange reserves. Although undervaluation of the yuan was a major factor causing the large imbalances in the past, the appreciation of the yuan over the past few years had brought the yuan USD exchange rate to a level that was no longer undervalued. Exchange rate, the price of a nation s currency in terms of another currency, indicates the value of a currency: a higher exchange rate is associated with a relatively lower value of its corresponding currency. Since Chinese goods are usually valued in yuan, the only currency that is valuable for Chinese is yuan. That is, a Chinese is only interested in selling and purchasing goods in yuan. Foreign consumers, such as Americans, have to use yuan rather than dollars to purchase goods from Chinese sellers. Specifically, an American must exchange his dollars into yuan at first and then uses yuan to purchase Chinese goods. I partially liked the way the author crafted the characters when making the book, was they resemble real people. The author makes the characters come to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I had finished the book I felt I got to know the characters as another person. A Second thing I liked about how the book was crafted was the scenery. The author made the scenery look like any other small town. It has a library called the Herman W. Block Memorial Library, (DiCamillo 40). It has a church, a trailer park, and a Gertrude s pet store, (DiCamillo 50), this is where Opal received her first job. Every student including myself can picture these places in their heads easily. Some may have not seen a trailer park before, but they can take what they saw on television and put it into pictures. The scenery is realistic because most small town have all of these places and many students can relate to this in some way or another. The last point that stood out to me about the crafting of this book was the plot. The author used recurring plots. A plot that is mentioned in one part of the book but then comes up in another part but gives a larger meaning then before. For instance, Otis tells Opal he has has a dark past and was arrested but does not explain to her as to way he was arrested. Later on in the book though, he tell Opal he was arrested because, I pushed down a police officer for not letting me play my guitar out in public, (DiCamillo 131). I believe the plot is one of the important aspects of making a book. It is where the story revolves around and how the events of a book ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the story, An Upheaval, as well as the short film, I m Not the Indian You Had in Mind, material objects are used to show the seemingly drastic differences between two social standings. This is important because in order for society to function prosperously, the wise thing to do is to get rid of this thinking, so people no longer have to face this inhumane discrimination. In Chekov s An Upheaval, Lady Fenya s missing brooch is a symbol that represents how the upper class society has a misconstrued view of the lower class. For example, when Mashenka finds out that ...
