Finally, we have made it. It is the spring state CDE competition for FFA. My team,
the Lennox Food Science team, qualified by placing in the top five in our district
at our home CDE competition, we placed first. This would be my first time at the
spring state competition for FFA and it would prove to be one of the best times of

Dr. Tobey, in which we covered theory and research in learning and social
psychology in the school environment. While we were covering a topic on

working on.
Internship Site The Brain and Creativity Institute is located on the USC campus, in
the Dornsife Cognitive Neuroscience Imaging building. The BCI lab itself presents
itself with glass doors and once you enter has a front desk secretary to assist with
any possible questions. In the second floor of the building there are various labs
where it hosts the multiple programs that the BCI has to offer. Some of the
research programs that are housed in the BCI include, the Brain and music
program, feelings program and the one I am involved in, the cross cultural social
emotional program. In addition to having the opportunity to work in the lab, I was
able to do my work at home. This privilege was given to me because most of my

Seed germination and seedling growth: The seeds were surface sterilized with
0.1% Mercuric chloride for 5 minutes then washed with distiied water several times

believes we have lost our standards and ability to identify something as good or bad .

She touches on various criteria to judge art, such as the artist s purpose, skill and

and the process of association, we will be able to judge what makes an art piece
good in comparison to others. However, Mannes forces me to consider the

good and bad are two ends of a large, subjective spectrum of grey area. It is possible
for a piece of art to be good in some areas and bad in others, and if something does
not live up to all of our standards, it does not necessarily mean it should be
dismissed. Thus, I believe my personal standards for judging art are based on
which my standards are largely based on the personal reaction evoked from a piece
of art. Though I agree with Mannes standards to an extent, I believe that certain
standards, such as evoking a personal response, can be more telling of if a piece of
