Anger In 12 Angry Men
Video analysis Being a human means having emotions. One of the most prominent emotions
everyone will experience at some point in their life is, anger. Anger can come in many ways,
whether it is anger toward a person, anger towards oneself, anger at society, and so on. Anger is
also shown differently between many through ways such as verbal outbursts, physical outburst, and
body language. During the 1957 MGM film Twelve Angry Meneach of the twelve men showed
some sort of angertoward one another due to the situation they were put in. Bernard Roth, the
author of The Achievement Habit explains in the chapter Doing is Everything that humans, have
biases which lead most to jump to a decision that isn t always correct because of those biases
humans create themselves. A great example of this, is not far into the film when eleven of the
twelve men have their first outburst toward Mr. Davis juror number eight. Eleven of these men
thought that it would be a very swift unanimous agreement that the young manwas guilty of
murdering his father, but Mr. Davis felt that he could not just let a young man go to jail because
of a few facts that may or may not have been true. This anger could be classified as situational
anger because then men aren t mad at Mr. Davis, they are angered more by the fact that they are
being kept from what they would rather be doing. One of the most used reasons by the twelve men
was that the area where this young man was raised was enough to convict

A tale of a self destructing man and his quest for redemption, it s the story of Disgrace. In the

life, his work life, his private life and his sex life. Lurie s lack of self control with his sexual
desires brings him the biggest tribulation and center arc of the story, when his choice to have a
sexual affair with a student Melanie Isaacs jeopardizes his career. Lurie does not realize the
significance in his affair until his daughter Lucy Lurie s tragedy s gives him a realization. As Lurie
tries to escape from his personal problems, finding comfort in bonding with his daughter, he
becomes entrapped into his own issues, facing reality with his choices. Lucy Lurie s influence on

After Lucy Lurie was viciously raped after 3 men force their way into here farm house, she

and says, And I did nothing. I did nothing to save you. (Coetzee, pg157) With Lurie s
subconscious raging, he begins to feel extremely guilty. It is at this moment his eyes start to
open and he realizes the chaos he has caused. As Lucy Lurie starts to drift away more and more,
Lurie doesn t agree with Lucy Lurie s choices as she didn t agree with his choices in the
beginning of the story. This is an example of the secular nature of the story. Lucy Lurie who was
once considered mentally present and strong willed, is now aloof and emotionally distant. Lurie
who was once unaccountable and kept the consequences of his choices at arms lengthen, has now
become present in his misgiving and is seeking redemption. Even though he is the protagonist in the

The Ergonomic Keyboard And Mouse Prevent Carpal Tunnel...
Office workers in Mound, Minnesota, may be aware of the importance of the ergonomic
keyboard and mouse to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive stress disorders.
However, these are merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the health problems
researchers have linked to prolonged sitting. High blood sugar The Washington Post reports that
poor posture does contribute to a variety of spinal issues, such as neck strain and muscle tissue
damage. However, studies show that even at an ergonomic station, the pancreas is negatively
affected. That organ produces insulin to help the body regulate the amount of sugar in the
blood. When a person sits for hours at a time, muscles stop responding the way they should to
insulin, and that prompts the pancreas to go into overdrive. As a result, the risk for diabetes
rises. Low mental function Unused muscles take a toll in other areas of the body, as well. Fat is
not burned as efficiently when muscle movement is restricted, and that leads to sluggish blood
flow and less oxygen in the brain. Lower mental capacity is one side effect, and depression may
follow, since the body does not produce the chemicals that improve mood and outlook. Cancer
According to Time Magazine, a recent analysis of 43 studies indicates a clear link between sitting
for hours during the day, and colon, lung and endometrial cancer. Regular exercise did not lower
the risks, which were 66 percent higher for those who are typically deskbound at work.

Speech On Nature Is Precious
God created the world perfectly. We are so bless to have such a precious gift like this. Nature
provides us what we need to survive each day of our living, like our mother. It give us a food to
eat, water to drink, air to breathe, shelter to stay and many more for our life to become better and
easier. Our nature have many beautiful scenery. Our eyes won t get tired mesmerizing on it. No
wonder why many artist, writers, poets, and painters choose it to be their subject. Human are the
real user of the nature. We are dependent on it that s why we will not survive on earth without it.
Having this precious gift means also a big responsibility. A big responsibility for a human to
fulfill. That s why it is right and just to take care on it. As I said nature is... Show more content on

We should not allow our selfishness to take over. We should enjoy our beautiful nature without
hurting it. Let s help each other to take away it from the damages. So that our future generation
can also witness how beautiful it is. Human should not take it for granted. Let s value the worth
of it while it is not too late. Let s help each other to take care of it so that we can enjoy it forever.
Nature is everything which surround us and one of this is the flower. Flower is a part of a plant. It is
a reproductive organ that produces eggs and pollen grains. Many flower have brightly colored
petals and sweet fragrant which make them unique from the other living things. They produce
nectar that attracts insect, animals and human too. While the animals eat on the nectar, some
pollen grains stick on their bodies. When they move to another flower they carry the pollen and
help pollinate those flowers. The pollination by animals are more effectively than pollination by
the wind. Why? Because the animals directly move from flower to flower and not like in wind
where the pollen can be carry anywhere. There is an assurance if it is

Similarities Between Darwin And Primates
How life on Earth started is one of the most enigmatic subject discussed around the world.
Charles Darwin was born February 12, 1909, he was from Shrewsbury, Shropshire England. He
was the fifth child of six children, had a father who was a wealthy doctor and a mother who was a
financier and although his family was Unitarian Darwin attended the Anglican Shrewsbury School.
In 1825, Charles Darwinbecame an apprentice doctor at the University of Edinburgh Medical
school, but sadly he did not like the work involved and not interest after a while. Darwin had great
interest in natural history which made his father furious and was sent off to a Christian school.
With Darwin s interest in natural history he made a theory that Humans descended from Primates ,
although Darwin includes many convincing logical historic facts, people may disagree or agree
with him because... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of Darwin s most famous saying is Humans descended from primates , meaning we evolved
over time. Darwin first states that The similarity between the human skeleton and the skeletons of
other animals was notorious . Scientists had even seen a similarity between the human brain and
that of an orangutan. He mentions the diseases humans can catch from other animals and human
illnesses which monkeys also suffer from including apoplexy, inflammation of the bowels, and
cataract in the eye. He also mentions that monkeys can develop a liking for tea, coffee, and
spirituous liquors and that he has seen monkeys smoke tobacco with pleasure. Other similarities
between man and monkeys include: manner of reproduction, including prenatal development,
helplessness of infants, difference in size and strength between male and female, issue structure,
and male nipples . These similarities show accurately why he would say humans descended from

Flawed News And Public Opinions Essay
Flawed News and Public Opinions
TV Journalism has been degraded to the point in which true factual and informative reporting free
of bias has been replaced with short news bytes centered and focused on its entertainment value
alone. Within the political process, this has mostly served as a disservice to both politicians and the
general public audience.
Edward J Epstein published a book entitled News from Nowhere in which he observed NBC s news
department and how decisions were made on what was news worthy. He discovered a decline in
television network ratings and profits caused executives to change marketing strategies. This new
direction in news reporting would be tailored to an audience low in sophistication with the
network defining what would be newsworthy. Epstein wrote: Dull and complicated stories would
need to be of enormous importance to get on the air: but relatively trivial stories would make the
cut if interesting enough . (Edwards, p. 406). Supporting this observation Washington Post editors
Leonard Downie Jr and Robert Kaiser argue that Entertainment has pushed out information in the
TV news business and that the history of TV news can be summarized in a couple sentences .
(Edwards, p. 406). An exception to this practice would be networks assigning their best reporters
to cover major events or Lead Stories at well established sources such as the White House,
Congress, or the Pentagon. During the 1991 Gulf War, 50 per cent of the stories came from these

Kellogg s PEP Commercial
Beginning in 1923, Kellogg s, a cereal company in Battle Creek, Michigan, created PEP, a whole
wheat cereal. In 1930, it became the first fortified cereal consisting of vitamins B and D.
According to Kellogg s official website, it also became the first product to undergo food
fortification, or adding of minerals and vitamins, using the spray method (par. 4). Prior to its
discontinuation in the late 1970s, the company focused extensively on sponsored advertisement.
Kellogg Companypartnered with sponsoring radio networks, The Singing Lady and the Howie
Wing , to help the food and entertainment industry.
Even though PEP cereal is no longer selling, one advertisement during its era of popularity brings
up controversial points. Dating back to its early release during the 1930s, the classified ad is of
antique value. The photo also features a husband just getting off work, dressed in a suit, putting his
arms around his wife, embracing her with a back hug. The wife is wearing typical housewife
clothing (heels, cooking apron, dress, and feather duster), returning the back hug with a smile. The
picture also features a box of vitamins in the left lower corner, along with the couple s
conversation. The content of the image seems to discuss with an audience immersed in a traditional
viewpoint of gender identity.
The purpose of the ad is to promote Kellogg s PEP vitamin infused cereal. The message conveys
that the added vitamins will enhance the wife s task performance. At the

Reflection On Group Discussion During Micro Teaching Session
Appendix 2 Reflection on Group Discussion during Micro Teaching Session
Reflection
I wished to simply try Brookfield and Preskill s concepts of group discussion, to see what I could
tease out from 10 minute Micro Teaching Session about Communicating with people with Autism
Spectrum Conditions . It was a task which had limitations but also great results as it led to me to
distinctly recognise what actions I needed to take when I embark on the next opportunity to use
discussion in a classroom. It was the ultimate learning curve in the research as I returned to make
changes to the poster and essay having completed the sampling of discussion. Most significantly, I
began to appreciate the role of Brookfield s Democratic Dispositions in holding discussion groups.
This process is a true reflection of Einstein s belief that in theory, theory and practice are the same.

I remember being consciously aware of one disposition; appreciation. This was when the class first
started talking and participating. After that I went into overdrive and guided the discussion along,
the very thing I had wished not to do. Initially disappointed, I had not looked carefully enough at
my practice, I thought I had abandoned the nine dispositions, but later I began to note that other
dispositions were in fact in play. I was simply not paying attention, being mindful. I had
externalised the demonstration of the dispositions as if they going to be flagged by my conscience
and lost the awareness of how I had in fact demonstrated autonomy, humility and hopefulness
through my actions. Dispositions that were less prevalent were the ones that would help me slow
down, talk less and infuse synthesis into the lesson. Deliberation, mutuality and mindfulness are the
habits in which I will pay more heed to the next time I use

Cultural History And Cultural Beliefs
When one begins the discussion of cultural history that is, who we are as individuals, what
experiences, beliefs, and factors that shape us into the individuals that we are today. It is
important to have an understanding of what culture represents in our society. Exploring cultural
history encompasses the combination of anthropology and history alike to further explore
popular cultural interpretations and traditions as seen through historical experiences. Meaning,
an examination of records, past knowledge, arts, and customs of a given group should be closely
assessed in order to begin to understand the individual. In the world today, we see many
variations of cultures. Many stand to the tests of time all there own, while others have begun to
blend together with that of other cultures. I am a product of just that, being born into a family
whose roots tie back to African, Indian, German, and Irish descents made for an interesting
upbringing. In this paper, we will discuss how cultural history and family experiences have
shaped what is now my own cultural beliefs and learning habits. Cultural Background I come
from a home of two parents and two older siblings. My parents both come from military families
who moved across the U.S so they were both exposed to different cultures growing up. My father
born in Seattle Washington and my mother in Shreveport Louisiana both come from a mixed home.

Biography of Ernest Miller Hemingway Essay
Biography of Ernest Miller Hemingway
Ernest Miller Hemingway was an American novelist, journalist, writer of short stories, and
winner of the 1954 Nobel Prize for literature. He created a distinguished body of prose fiction,
much of it based on adventurous life. He was born on July 21, 1899, the second of six children, in
Oak Park, Ill., in a house built by his widowed grandfather, Ernest Hall. Oak Park was a Protestant,
upper middle class suburb of Chicago. He died on July 2, 1961.
Early Years Hemingwaystated in Green Hills of Africa that civil war is the best war for a writer.

His father was a strict disciplinarian while Grace was more permissive. She saw that her
children had music lessons and were exposed to the arts. Ernest never had a knack for music and
suffered through choir practices and cello lessons. The gift of the doctor to his children was a
knowledge and love of nature. He taught Ernest how to build fires and cook in the open, how to
use and ax to build a shelter, how to make fishing flies, how to make bullets, and how to handle
fishing gear and guns. He also taught them how to prepare small animals for mounting and how
to dress and cook game. Ernest inherited the temperament and artistic talent of mother and the
looks and sporting skills of his father. Both parents, when he was a boy, were foes of dirt and
disorder. They brought up their children to follow strict schedules, stand inspection and be
scrupulously neat and tidy. Ernest went to high school in Oak Park where he enjoyed writing
for the school s literary magazine, reporting for the school s weekly newspaper called The
Trapeze. He was mediocre at sports, playing football, swimming, water basketball and serving as
the track team manager. Upon graduation in 1917, he was faced with three choices: college, war,
or work. His father wanted him to go to college and be a doctor, but he rejected that; he was not in
any hurry to go to war, and a job with the Kansas City Star wouldn t open until October, so he spent

Evaluate The Pros And Cons Of 360-Degree Appraisal
Evaluate the pros and cons of a 360 degree evaluation method.
Performance is evaluated, and information is provided to employees that enables them to reflect
on their performance and develop plans. The 360 degree approach allows a wider range of
people to evaluate and give feedback on an employee s performance. A manager might conduct a
self appraisal, as well as receive feedback from peers, subordinates, superiors, and even customers
and clients. Some advantages of 360 degree appraisal are that employees can get more than one
perspective, and that people who work closely with the employee on a day to day basis can give
feedback on overall performance, not just once a month or once a year. It is also a useful technique
for meeting customer needs. It is sometimes easy for members within an organization to lose sight
of the customers perspectives, and 360 degree appraisal brings the customers viewpoints into the
larger picture. Some disadvantages include the possibility of spiteful evaluations from disgruntled
subordinates, especially if evaluations are anonymous, coerced positive evaluations from
intimidated employees, or misguided evaluations from employees who are not knowledgeable
enough about the job they are evaluating.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the Morgan Stanley performance assessment and management system.

Acid-Base Lab
Acid/Base lab s purpose was to introduce extractions of one of the four neutral organic compounds
(4 chlorobenzophene, biphenyl, trans stilbene, and trans chalcone). We then were asked to test the
solubility of our selected neutral compound with hexane, water, methanol, and ethyl acetate to find
the solvent that only dissolved the neutral compound while introduced to heat. Once the solvent
was chosen, we purified the compound by recrystallization, and then concluded that my neutral
organic compound was trans stilbene.
в‚Є Introduction в‚Є It s essential for any chemist to grasp acid/base chemistry. It s a method of
purification, once the experiment is completed. However, it s the groundwork of pKa values, which

Also another factor is finding a solvent at which ones compound dissolves in when heat is
introduced and insoluble at room temperature, but it should also crystalize when introduced to cold
temperatures. My compound had the melting point of trans stilbene at 121 123В°C which, was just
lower than the PubChem recorded melting temperature of 122 125В°C. Concluded that my neutral
organic compound was trans stilbene because of the mixed melting points similarity. If the
experiment were repeated it would be important to possibly have students use pipets or some
measured method to rinse their product during recrystallization so that mistakes such as over
rinsing occur less and are more precise. Also another improvement that could be made is to
perform more tests to the acid that had been a nucleophile to better identify its transformation.
Other wise the lab that was performed was parallel to that of work in the extraction of medicines
and other compounds that are marketed as pure at a less grand scale, but demonstrated the
importance of acid/base chemistry.

Teaching includes many useful teaching strategies that a teacher chooses according to the
requirement of his/her respective subject and topic as well. In result of my years of experience and

of Binary Number System into Hexadecimal Number System . The objective of my lesson was
to make students know how to convert an Octal Number into Binary Number System on the
board and its practical implementation. To achieve these objectives I started my lesson with a
question answer session to revise their previous concepts. After the recap session I divided my
class into groups of 4 students each and said them to identify Hexadecimal and Binary digits.
Then through exposition I explained the current topic how to convert a hexadecimal number into
binary on the board. For more detail explanation I solved three related examples on the board
interactively. In these examples I involved students to help me in solving these examples. This
was their learning towards the application of current topics properties. Later I assigned the
conversion task to the groups. Each group did its work and it was the responsibility of the group
leader to make sure participation of each member of the group. The groups prepared their
presentation and to give everyone an equal chance presentation was divided into parts. I kept on
observing the groups and encourage the participation of reluctant students during discussion time.

There are several red flags in the invoices. There are several invoice numbers that are repeated and
have an A at the end of the repeated invoice.
2) Based on your results, what types of fraud schemes may be indicated?
This shows that invoices were made twice for large amounts possibly by fraudsters that have

The, The Infernal Machine, And Ubu Roi By Alfred Jarry
In the three plays that we have discussed in class, Antigone by Jean Anouilh, The Infernal Machine
by Jean Cocteau, and Ubu Roi by Alfred Jarry, there is a prodigious depiction of female characters
and power that come in numerous ways. In The Infernal Machine there are female characters, such
as Jocasta and the Sphinx, who show power and authority. Likewise, in Antigone, characters, such
as Antigone and her sister, Ismene, also show power and supremacy. In Ubu Roi, the main character
that showed power through rule was Mere Ubu. From being a woman of authority, to rebelling
against men with a greater authority than them, to doing what you want no matter if it was right
or wrong for the people, these characters truly show what it is to be a woman of power in one
way or another. Characters in both plays display power in innumerable means, and it shows the
leadership of women. John C. Maxwell once said, A leader is one who knows the way, goes the
way, and shows the way. Women in these plays do what they can to show power, in their each
individual ways. In Cocteau s The Infernal Machine, Oedipusis the main character of the play
showing power, but the women in the play also depict power in additional ways. One example is
Jocasta, the mother of Oedipus, with her title being the first symbol of power since she is known as
the queen of Thebes. Although, by the end of the play Jocasta hangs herself because she did not

Analysis Of The Novel Mister Pip
In my opinion a novel has to capture the reader s attention in the first two pages and hold that same
attention throughout the whole journey for it to be a novel that is worthwhile reading. Lloyd Jones
literary style throughout the novel Mister Pip is captivating, compelling, grotesque and
enlightening all at once. Through the various personalities and explorations of each characterand
through back stories that unfold through flashbacks and story telling, Lloyd Jones lures the reader
into the story.
When readers express their fondness for a novel it is generally because the first few pages reel
them in and intrigues them to learn more about the story to come. Lloyd Jones opens the novel
with a detailed description of one of the main characters Mr Watts. By starting the book with
Everyone called him Pop Eye. (page 1) creates a mystery about who Mr Pop Eye and Mrs Pop
Eye could be and why they are so important to be the introduction to the novel, this gives the
impression that he is a major key character to the plot of this novel. It is also the introduction to

is rich with copper and that most of the men on the island have moved away from the villages to

Internal contingencies are determined as organizational aspects, technology and strategy. The
effectiveness of performance measurement and evaluation depends on the internal factors and the
management accounting practice. Additionally, feedback from the effectiveness of performance
measurement and evaluation of the management accounting practice can be considered features

Sears Human Relationship Management
After finding Sears Holdings Corporation standing on the Fortune s 500 worst companies list, I
decided to do a little research on the Fortune s 500 page to gather some valuable information
about the enterprise. While looking at the information provided on the website, I noticed that
Sears Holdings Corporation previously ranked 99 and the company is now listed at 111 per
Fortune s 500. (Beta, 2016). Not only did the company fall twelve spots, but it is also showing a
negative revenue change of 19.4%, and it is indicating a decrease in profits by $1,129. (Beta,
2016). Although the company has a negative revenue of 19.4%, their current income is sitting at
$25,146, and their current assets are $11,337. Also, as of March 31, 2016, Sears Holdings... Show

(Perry, 2011). The purpose of his theory was to have companies be more productive than the
machines used inside of the enterprise. In Sears case, a productive employee would be someone
who not only provides that WOW customer service experience that the company prides itself on,
but to also keep the sales floor looking presentable as well as the fitting rooms. Also, a productive
employee would be someone who not only asks a customer if they are finding everything but
helping satisfy the client s needs before the check out process. Mayo s theory also states, Ifs
employees receive particular attention and are encouraged to participate; they perceive their work

is in human relations management which is not the same as human resource management.
However, his argument touched on some of the same basis that Sears human resource department

Corporation follow? Since Sears primary sector in the general merchandisers industry is retail,
the company by default is required to comply with the Retail Law. Retail Law also known as
Retail and Consumer Law is the body of laws related to the sale and advertising of consumer

Marketing Simulation
Overview Our company Orange experienced a very successful campaign and grew more
profitable over the six quarters throughtout the Market Simulation. In terms of market share in
comparison to the competition, we placed fourth holding 12 percent market share. We initially
targeted the Mercedes market, and later developed products aimed at the Traveler and Workhorse
clientele. In terms of profitability, we suffered a loss moving from Quarter 1 to Quarter 2, which
is typical of most early stage companies. However, each quarter thereafter we were able to maintain
a profit, ending with $18,270,122 gross profit and $15,232,910 operating profit. Our six computer
models are the driving factor behind such success. These models include The... Show more content

the Mercedes market. Unfortunately overall Orange only had a 12 percent% overall market
share, and felt it was necessary to expand into the portable laptop industry of Traveler with The
Babyboard 2.0, and opened a plant in Paris. By Quarter 3, the market size had reached 10,000
customers, which allowed for expansion in the cities of Shanghai and Sao Paulo, and the last
target market of Workhorse. The generous rebates were attractive to the target audience, and
allowed for the introduction of The Horseboard, The Superboard, and The Toddlerboard. By
Quarter 6, a total of 60 sales people had been employed, and due to the overall low prices of the
products, as well as the rebates, Orange gained a 2 percent% market share.
Financial Performance: Throughout these first phases of our company, Orange has created a
positive financial pattern. While we implemented an aggressive growth strategy and expanded our
empire internationally, we kept our costs to a minimum. Naturally, we started Quarter 2 with a
deficit due to startup costs. Unlike most companies, our costs were controlled however, and we
were only behind by just over $12,000. As advertising has always been a core competency of our
company, we spent a total of $109,471 developing and promoting our first batch of advertising. The

The Extinction Of Dinosaurs
Cribbins 1 Hook. The extinction of dinosaurs is a mystery in itself that has stumped scientists all
over the world for decades, and they still look for new answers every day. Scientists know some
background information, but cannot connect the dots to see the bigger picture. There was little
interest in the topic until Luis and Walter Alvarez proposed a groundbreaking hypothesis, which
today we call the Alvarez Hypothesis . This new idea of the Alvarez s was exciting, and therefore
got the media talking about it, which in turn started the search of how the dinosaurs went extinct.
Another popular theory of how dinosaurs went extinct is the Volcanism Theory. Scientists have
recently found new evidence supporting both sides of this debate. Although many dinosaur
extinction theories exist, only the Alvarez Hypothesis is correct. Scientists abase their extinction
theories off one of commonly known piece of information: that there was a change in climate
around the time of the K T boundary. Both major theories support this idea, and both believe that
something blocked out the Sun for many months. This stopped the photosynthesis in plants, the
base of the food chain. Without plants, the food chain was majorly affected. A domino effect
happened, and one species died out after another. Eventually all species of dinosaurs died out.
Scientists know that there was a global climatic change, but are not sure how it happened. The topic
of the K T Extinction received little

The Norse Pantheon
The Norse Pantheon may be one of the lesser know paths, but most of us are familiar with one or
two of its gods. Growing up reading comic books and with the new series of movies recently

nasty villain Loki. Yet, we never really knew they had a history past the comic books. Let us take a
look into Norse history .
What is the first image in your head when you think Norse? Let me guess, Vikings? You would be
right. The collective myths of the Scandi navians (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Iceland)
constituted the beliefs of the Norsemen. The shaping of Norse mythology itself took place in Ger

Citect and WonderWare are just two of the open software packages available in the market for

SCADA and local area networks
Local area networks (LAN) are all about sharing information and resources. To enable all the nodes
on the SCADA network to share information, they must be connected by some transmission

Nodes need to share this transmission medium in such a way as to allow all nodes access to the
medium without disrupting an established sender.
A LAN is a communication path between computers, file servers, terminals, workstations, and
various other intelligent peripheral equipments, which are generally referred to as devices or

between all stations on the network. A LAN is usually owned and administered by a private owner

The Use of Hand Hygiene Interventions and Techniques to Prevent Nosocomial Infections

The Use of Hand Hygiene Interventions and Techniques to Prevent Nosocomial Infections
Studies have continued to prove hand hygiene to be the most effective technique for eliminating
nosocomial infections. Treatment facilities are experiencing multidrug resistant organisms at an all
time high due to a lack of proper infection prevention protocol. Nosocomial infections are the most
common complication that can arise during a hospital stay (Insert citation). A majority of
developing countries are facing multidrug resistant organisms caused by the lack of infection
prevention protocol and a large amount of pressure to provide health care in poor living and
treatment conditions. Over use of antibiotic treatment is part of the reason large numbers of
multidrug resistant organisms are appearing in the healthcare environment. Implementing more
stringent infection prevention protocol, assessing health care facilities use of proper infection
control, and critically analyzing use of antibiotics will aid in elimination of nosocomial infections
and decrease the average hospital stay.
According to the evidence based clinical practice guidelines on the guidline.gov website, there are
three standard principles of hand hygiene. The first is using a hand washing technique with
decontamination agents, such as soaps or

Five Lessons Learned from “the Ugly American”
Introduction
There are tens of thousands of how to books, but The Ugly American is unique in that it s actually
a how not to book. Published in 1958, the action takes place in the early 1950s at the height of the
Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States of America. Set primarily in the fictional
Asian country of Sarkhan, the struggle between Russian Communists and American Foreign
Service personnel plays out battle by battle through examples of military and political events
riddled with Ugly American social faux pas.
In Lederer s and Burdick s book, the day by day business of American policy implementation and
foreign aid to other countries is described. Central to The Ugly American is the historical reality of

It is interesting to see how foreign culture is seen through different eyes in each of the personal
mini stories that comprise this book.
Issue No. 3
Just as the character of Louis Krupitzyn takes many smart and savvy actions in The Ugly
American, he takes many unethical actions too. The one that stood out the most was when he
changes the wording on the labels of bags of American aid rice to read Gift of Russia in other
words, he takes credit for aid that isn t Russia s.
Almost everybody does his or her job with a goal in mind, and in a very tangible way, Krupitzyn s
action helped him get closer to his goal. But that doesn t make it right. Simply because his main
goal was to spread communism to Sarkhan within 30 months, taking credit for work that isn t yours
is unacceptable, even if it furthers your agenda. The ends do not justify the means.
Issue No. 4
One of the books most obvious arguments is that we spend billions on the wrong aid projects while
overlooking the almost costless and far more helpful ones. Sears undermines a Wisconsin dairyman
s self started project to raise nutrition levels in the Sarkhan countryВside, thwarts a band of anti
Communist irregulars formed by a militant Massachusetts priest, and orchestrates the dismissal of
his more capable successor, who fails to convince Washington of an impending coup. He does this
all because these efforts get in the way of his big, self serving plans that do not benefit

Competing on Analytics defines an analytical competitor as an organization that uses analytics
extensively and systematically to outthink and out execute the competition. (1) Business analytics
is a new way for companies to separate themselves from their competitors. I recently completed
an internship at the firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and will work there full time upon
completion of this program. PwC uses analytics to help solve complex business issues and to
identify opportunities across different industries. PwC is the largest professional service company
in the world and is part of the Big Four accounting firms. PwC operates in over 157 countries with
more than 750 offices throughout the world.(2) PwC is structured into three service lines, which
are Assurance, Advisory and Tax. The assurance practice audits almost 30% of the global fortune

The Role of an Individual in International Law At a glance, one may assume that individuals do not

individuals in any society. This is because that international law has no jurisdiction. It applies
regardless of the local jurisdiction sometimes even overriding local legislation. Courts may use
international law to pass judgement on tricky cases. However, individuals play a significant role in
international law. International law focuses mainly on the individual. It ensures that individuals get

suffrage. However, parties that had limited rights gradually gained their rights albeit after
undergoing long durations of painful struggle.[2] However, the individual still played a significant
part in international law even before the formation of the United Nations. Even before the formation
of the United Nations, there was a humanitarian law that sought to reduce the effects of war on
civilians and combatants. Humanitarian law also had rules that dictated how states should treat
aliens by granting them protection. However, the individual was usually associated with the state of
residence and not regarded as an autonomous entity in international law. During the Second World
War, the link between sovereignty, citizenship and rights that citizens of sovereign states had was
apparent. Sovereign states did not always protect the rights of their citizens, as they did not prevent
other nations from inflicting atrocities on some of their citizens. However, the Second World War
made protection of human rights a core issue of various sovereign states and the international

How to Become an Effective Hitter Essay
How to Become an Effective Hitter
Babe Ruth is known for his 714 home runs. However, few people realize the other statistic he
holds, which is having the most strikeouts of any player in the major league. This statistic helps to
prove there is only a slight difference between a good hit and a strike. To become a good hitter in
baseball, three fundamentals are necessary. First, the batter s stance in the batter s box, second, the
batter s eye contact on the ball, and third, the batter s swing are the three fundamentals a good hitter
will possess.
First, a good stance in the batter s box is required to hit the ball successfully. The stance is not only

The knees should not be locked but slightly bent. For example, when I hit, I usually foul a ball
down the first or third base line so the outfielders move accordingly. In our final game of the
season against Middle Georgia College in Cochran when I played softball in college, however,
the right fielder was positioned way off the first base line towards second base. She was reading
my even stance as I was trying to hit the ball up the middle or over second base. She was wrong. At
the last minute, I changed my stance as the ball was coming and hit it right down the first base line.
A good stance is important to becoming a productive hitter.
Second, no matter how perfect the stance, unless a batter has good eye contact, a high batting
average will never be possible. A pitcher can put a large number of different spins on the ball. For
example, the curve ball, the slider, the fast ball, and the knuckle ball move differently. A batter
needs to watch the ball from the time the pitcher releases it until the batter brings the bat around
and through the ball. A batter cannot hit the ball unless one knows what direction the ball is
traveling. Sally, a teammate at Macon College in 1993, was always striking out because at the

In the play Othello , Desdemona and Othello married, they desired to share their life together, and

opposition of how the audience may view the handkerchief as Symbols and also how the symbols

How did the handkerchief effect the moral nature of others as it passes between characters.
Othello gave Desdemona a handkerchief as a first gift, the handkerchief to be represented as a

Society s Impact On Wealth And Elite Social Status
Increase in wealth during the post agriculture period impacted elite social status greatly. Elite
social status was a great deal to the wealth people in this era. They would do everything in their
power to ensure that their social status was unharmed. The wealth made the wealthier individual
s feel higher and separated from the common people. The increase in wealth allowed room for
elite to make rules that were to be governed in sexual relationships. It was so important to pass
on the elite social status and wealth that it became codified as written laws for the elite. Wealth
impacted the elite because it controlled who they could marry in order to pass on the social
status. The most acceptable form of a relationship that would form into a marriage in an elite
social status would be a relationship between a man and a woman, both coming from elite
families. The wealth would then be able to be passed down, which exemplifies the impact
wealth had on the elite social status. Elite men that formed relationships with a non elite woman
would only be viewed her as a mistress for sexual pleasure. A elite woman and a non elite man
would cause shame to be brought upon her family and the man could possibly be murdered for his
actions. There were exceptions where a wealth family would adopt non elite males and raise them
to be elite. (McKay, Pg. 26) Wealth impacted elite social status because most inheritance is left to

Vapor Pressure
The properties of freezing point, boiling point, vapor pressure, and osmotic pressure are
properties that can be manipulated based on the ratio of a solute in a solution compared to the
pure solvent. A pure solvent is generally a liquid compound that has the ability to dissolve other
materials chemically. Decreased freezing point is the temperature at which the solution or solvent
becomes solid, leaving the solute behind. The boiling point is how much it takes for the pressure
of the water to become more than the atmospheric pressure or when the vapor pressure of the
liquid becomes greater than the atmospheric pressure. Vapor pressure can be described in terms of
the pressure rates of molecules going in or out of a state of liquid or gas... Show more content on

A colligative property is the property of a solution that differs from the solute when an ionic
compound is added to the solute and it depends on the ratio of dissolved particles to the solvent
in a solution. Colligative properties are properties of a solvent and change with the presence of
a solute, but these are properties that are independent of what the solvent and solute are.
Freezing point is the temperature at which the solution or solvent becomes solid. An example of
freezing point property in action is when salt is added to water and is spread on ice, causing the
water and the ice to have a lower freezing point. As seen when brine is applied to roadways, the
solvent water, when combined with the solute salt, the freezing point is lowered. The boiling
point property is demonstrated when the pressure of the water becomes more than the
atmospheric pressure, or when the vapor pressure of a liquid becomes greater than the
atmospheric pressure in a closed environment. An example of ionic compounds in boiling would
be to add salt to water when boiling water for cooking pasta. When the salt is added, the boiling
point becomes higher, which in turn creates the potential to cook the pasta at a higher temperature
to save time. Vapor pressure is the amount of pressure that is applied by the vapor in the air or in a
contained environment on the substance from which it came. An example of vapor

Argumentative Speech On Torture Animals
Imagine living life freely, having with no care in the world. Then suddenly it is all taking away.
Days after days, drugs and filth fill the air. Stuffed in cages that are so vulgar, crowded, and
disheveled, deaths occur from that alone. Imagine hearing the screams from others as you wait to
face the fate no one has control over. This is the reality of animals captured for their fur.
Preview of Main Points: Many animals are harmed and treated so inhumanely it ruins their spirits.
Faux fur is an alternative to choose to help and support the humane treatment of animals.
Thesis: The selling of real fur must be banned due to the cruelty and torture animals face just for
designer coats or bags.
BODY
Main Point/Reason 1: Fall is one of the most beloved seasons. The weather is cooling down and
warm, furry coats are breaking free from the dusty closets. However, this time of exciting emotion is
not what the animals with furry coats share. Many animals including; foxes, mink(LCA). China is
the largest fur exporter, which gives the United States more than half of the finished fur
garments that were torn from animals. There is a shocking over two million cats and thousands
of dogs bled to death, skinned alive, and hanged just for the skin each animal attains. These are
household pets being tortured for the soft, lovable fur they have no control or power over. The
sad truth is these cruel and horrid people have no consequences to their unacceptable
behavior(Nine Shocking Fur Facts). Imagine a beloved and admired pet being tormented by
strange people with unexisted feelings or emotion. Why is this heartless and wicked practice
still in society? Another heartbreaking fact is that 85% of fur industry s skin come from animals
who are held captive on fur factory farms, which are crammed into dangerously crowded, wire
cages and skinned alive. The cold, damp, and sickly cages animals are held in are 12 by 18 inches
which are outdoor exposing each animal to the harsh elements of nature. Those measurements of
confinement can lead to high stress level and at extreme measures, cannibalism. About 10 million
animals die each year due to the stress and illness alone(LAC). The handlers of the fear filled

Spiritual Murder in Buchner s Woyzeck Essay
Spiritual Murder in Georg Buchner s Woyzeck
Throughout dramatic history, tragedies have depicted a hero s humanity being stripped from him.
Usually, as in Shakespeare s classic paradigms, we see the hero, whether King Lear or Othello,
reduced from his original noble stature to nothingness and death. Yet GeorgBuchner s fragmentary
play Woyzeck shows us a protagonist already stripped of humanity, transformed into and treated as
an animal. Indeed, Woyzeck, far from being a simple tale of a village murder, shows us the
systematic debasement, even intellectual and spiritual murder, of the protagonist and all his class.
Like August Strindberg s Ghost Sonata, Woyzeck identifies most of its characters only by... Show

Others, in turn, speak of her as an animal, especially the Drum Major. At first sight of her, he
says she is good enough for the propagation of cavalry regiments and the breeding of drum
majors! (scene III), as if she were nothing but an animal to be bred. Later, he repeats Hell, let s
breed a race of drum majors, hey? and calls her You wildcat! (scene VI). Woyzeck, crushed by
visible evidence of Marie s infidelity, cries Why doesn t God blow out the sun so that everything
can roll around in lust, man and woman, man and beast. They ll do it in broad daylight, they ll do
it on our hands, like flies. (scene XI).
Animal imagery especially surrounds Woyzeck himself, in his interactions with the characters
who oppress and dehumanize him. The Captain sighs that I feel sorry for horses when I think
that the poor beasts have to go everywhere on foot. (scene IX). Yet he cares even less for
Woyzeck, for he ridicules the poor soldier mercilessly about Marie s unfaithfulness. As Woyzeck
hurries away, the Captain says that tall rascal takes off like the shadow before a spider (scene
IX) Woyzeck is comparable to an insect, in the captain s view. But the Doctor is the most
persistent and obvious character is his disparagement of Woyzeck as an animal. He complains
that Woyzeck pissed on the wall like a dog and exclaims that if it were a Proteus that were dying !

Similarities Between Wordsworth And Romanticism
Romanticism The Industrial Revolution in England brought major changes to British lifestyle. The
working classes experienced polluted conditions both in factories and at home. Technological
advances contributed to a less agriculturally dependent economy. The Enlightenment also reinforced
rational thinking, rather than imagination. The increasingly industrial society in England led
Romantic writers to emphasize the beauty of the natural world because they questioned both the
advancements of industry and the virtue of human rationalism (Kagan 416 418). British Romantics
William Wordsworth and John Keats both embrace the uplifting and inspiring qualities of the
natural world in many of their poems. However, while Wordsworth alludes to a... Show more

By doing so, he recognizes the calming qualities of the natural world, and so takes time to
recollect his experience with the daffodils. In addition to incorporating a transcendental register
of diction, Wordsworth uses personification to develop the spiritual quality of nature.
Wordsworth personifies the daffodils and compares them to spiritual entities to create an
ethereal mood in his poem, giving the flowers a mythical quality. He incorporates mythopoesis,
which is the making of myths ( Mythopoesis ). The daffodils are described as a crowd, / A host,
of golden Daffodils (Wordsworth 3 4). In literature, angels are referred to as the heavenly host (
Angel Wings Angels ). Wordsworth makes this connection to portray the daffodils as mythical and
angelic. Nature is personified as a spiritual being, which makes it seem otherworldly, and thus
Wordsworth presents the natural world as a dreamlike entity that he can always look back on for
serenity. Also, he describes the daffodils Tossing their heads in a sprightly dance (12). The term
sprightly derives from the word sprite, meaning a fairy like creature ( Sprite ). Again, Wordsworth
compares the daffodils to a mythical being, making nature spiritual. He constantly personifies the

Sweatshops Should Be Outlawed
Sweatshops should be outlawed. Some of the reason that sweatshops should be outlawed are
employment of minors, who required to work long hours, and they are paid low wages. Powell
provides an economic explanation for the presence of sweatshops in the world. The minors work
in deplorable working condition that cause poor health conditions. They perpetuate the violation
of basic human rights as people are exploited for their labor. Today s sweatshops violate our
notions of justice, yet they continue to flourish. This is so because we have not settled on criteria
that would allow us to condemn and do away with them and because the poor working conditions

At the level of the individual worker, sweatshops can be regarded as a blessing of sort, for they
might be the only way for illiterate people lacking marketable skills to enter the global industrial
marketplace. In many less developed countries with large populations, agriculture is the only
economic activity available to people. Sweatshops provide poor people in developing countries with
better outcomes than the alternative of criminal activity (child and adult prostitution). Employable
for only part of the year, outside of the planting and harvesting seasons, there is little for them to
do and they stream into cities looking for work. Sweatshops exist because of a prevailing
mindset that maintains a clear distinction between business and ethics. My perspective is minors
shouldn t have to work at sweatshops, they should be able to work in a clean and safe
environment. During school days no more than four or five hours a day with a legitimate pay
wage. In conclusion, Sweatshops should be outlawed. U.S. have the rights not to face competition
from poor third competition from poor third world workers, and by outlawing competition from
third world we can enhance union wages at the expense of poorer people who work in sweatshops.

What Is The Rhetorical Analysis Of Bluefin Tuna With The...
Dear reader,
In preparing to write this analysis, I pondered on how I could exploit each rhetorical analysis within
my advertisement. Understanding these devices enables me to then structure and organize my
arguments around this idea. In order to get started with my analysis I first pondered what is the
thesis, and what is the overall argument the WWF (World Wildlife) organization presents with
having a Bluefin Tuna with the face of a panda. As I kept evaluating the advertisement other
questions came to mind such as who is their target audience and why do they arrange the ad by
presenting it with a close up shot of a Bluefin Tuna with the face of a panda leading a school of
fish. There s also a question at the bottom right corner of the ad to get their point across asking
would you care more if it were a panda .
I found that the key to answering those questions is understanding why the organization chooses
to present the ad the way they does tying it in with their quote. They relate the extinction of the
two animals, making the reader feel guilty because they understand the inverse relationship of
sympathy towards the two animals the world has. Guilt is one of the stronger human emotions,
and the organization realize that, and use it to get people to care. On top of making the reader
feel guilty, all of the colors in the ad are dark and gray based which gives a sad and gloomy
ambience, and contributes greatly to the guilt trip conveyed to the reader.
I also found a new

Rhetorical Analysis Of Advertisement
An old saying that comes into play when just glancing at this advertisement, An apple a day keeps
the doctor away. is an old saying pediatricians would say to their miniature patients. Who would
know this could grab attention of people just watching TV? An Apple a Day illustrates four
Granny Smith apples on one side of the ad while a slice of a Granny Smithapple sits on the other
side of the ad. The product the advertiser is selling has more to offer than the other companies
which, is shown by the whole apples and the slice of an apple. The small description underneath
the Granny Smith apples has a formal, yet demanding tone that provides information about the
product. In the fine print, it has some details on how their company is one of the best. Then
below the small caption is a large, bold black logo followed by the contact information of the
company all directed towards drivers. An Apple a Day is trying to connect with middle class
drivers looking for better quality insurance for an inexpensive price.
The An Apple a Day advertisement is appealing to audience s ethos of the product. According to
Quick Access: Reference for Writers, ethos is confidence in the writer s reliability and
trustworthiness. (Troyka and Hesse 19). In other words, ethos is credibility or trust. The small
print is what seems to be something people skip over when skimming an ad, but in this case, it is
something people should pay attention to. The apple itself is healthy, which appeal

At the present time America has about 20 million immigrants from Mexico and South America.
As economies of Third World country continue to deteriorate more and more people will come
to America. Everybody wants what America has but because of the agendas of Third World
country politicians and the corruption of governments and the war over illegal criminal activities
the safe haven of America will still be the priority of people around the world. The demographics
of the United States we will continue to move to a change in diversity from a white majority to
really know majority at all. The Hispanic population continues to grow in America while the white
population continues to decline. The African American population has already moved from the
largest minority to the second largest minority be replaced by the Hispanic minority. If this trend
continues by 2050 we can see the Hispanic population become the majority of the largest minority
and other people who have not had to fight for civil rights may now find themselves as a
beneficiary of those civil rights battles fought by other minorities.
What challenges does the United States face due to the diversity of its people?
The first issue that comes to mind is language. If the Hispanic population becomes a majority will
we see a change in the language that is not only taught but spoken in America. Many merchants and
government agencies now speak Spanish as well as English. The

Marie Antoinette Dbq
Many people may argue that Marie Antoinette was the biggest factor for why France fell into a
revolutionary state, however, Marie Antoinette was a queen victimized and forced to play role
from a young age to satisfy the French people who disapproved. Marie Antoinette was falsely
blamed for her actions when in fact it wasn t her fault. Marie Antoinettewas forced to accept a
society where she had to learn new customs and traditions. She had to leave everything behind,
consequently become something she isn t. Her frustration and unhappiness with Versailles was no
surprise. Marie Antoinette was frustrated by her marriage. At Versailles her husband to be, Louis
Auguste had no interest in her. In the film, Marie Antoinette, the director clearly... Show more

According to the author, Stephen Zweig , in document #8 he states, She spent the treasury on her
own delights and desires: parties, opera, and her own personal country home: le Petit Trianon.
Every year the Queen had some new fancy. This also proven correct in the film. In the film, the
morning after Marie Antoinette didn t get the pleasure she wanted from Louis Auguste, she
brought expensive items to bury her sorrow. Even though, this does not give Marie Antoinette the
right to spend an endless amount of money, she again was 15 years old and had to carry the
weight of creating an heir, which was hard to do when the man she is with was making it
impossible. Marie Antoinette was also homesick, she missed Austria and everything she left behind.
Being Austrian seemed to be a burden in Versailles. According to the author, Antonia Fraser, in
document #6 she states, to France, a hostile country where she was nicknamed L Autrichienne (The
Austrian). Behind her back, many of the nobility disliked her because she was Austrian, even the
king didn t like her and because of this he wasn t willing to listen to her. This made it hard for

Women In James Bond Films
Women are deemed as a minority yet make up 51% of the world population and in 2014 made up
only 12% of protagonists in films. And that is just on screen, the percentage decreases as you go
farther and farther into behind the scenes positions such as directors, cinematographers, and writers.
Add race and ethnicity and those characters percentages decline even more (Lauzen, 2015.) Women
in filmand television are often portrayed with emphasis based on their body type and in
advertisement are largely objectified. The large objectification and misrepresentation of women in
the media has led to an offset psychological view of women from growing up to adulthood. The
constant portrayal of women as an assistant or helper in prominent is the popular James Bondfilms.
The main goal for bond girls as they are called is to distract, tempt, or assist, Bond in whatever his
mission may be. It is important to note that there had been Bond... Show more content on

Most of my early memories are filled with what I like to call kid novelas which were essentially
Spanish soap operas for kids. These novelas had many female characters, actually, all of the leads in
the novelas I personally watched were female and around the age I was at the time which was
around 9 to 13. I was very lucky to be a 9 to 13 year old at the time I was because that was when
Disney Channel and Nickelodeon had many female led television shows such as That s so Raven,
Lizzie Maguire and Wizards of Waverly place. Wizards of Waverly place was a show about a
Mexican American family where the three kids were wizards. It was not an entirely American
show or an entirely Mexican show, I saw myself in the female protagonist as she was a Mexican
American just like me and at 11 years old seeing yourself on television and film is so

  • 2. Anger In 12 Angry Men Video analysis Being a human means having emotions. One of the most prominent emotions everyone will experience at some point in their life is, anger. Anger can come in many ways, whether it is anger toward a person, anger towards oneself, anger at society, and so on. Anger is also shown differently between many through ways such as verbal outbursts, physical outburst, and body language. During the 1957 MGM film Twelve Angry Meneach of the twelve men showed some sort of angertoward one another due to the situation they were put in. Bernard Roth, the author of The Achievement Habit explains in the chapter Doing is Everything that humans, have biases which lead most to jump to a decision that isn t always correct because of those biases humans create themselves. A great example of this, is not far into the film when eleven of the twelve men have their first outburst toward Mr. Davis juror number eight. Eleven of these men thought that it would be a very swift unanimous agreement that the young manwas guilty of murdering his father, but Mr. Davis felt that he could not just let a young man go to jail because of a few facts that may or may not have been true. This anger could be classified as situational anger because then men aren t mad at Mr. Davis, they are angered more by the fact that they are being kept from what they would rather be doing. One of the most used reasons by the twelve men was that the area where this young man was raised was enough to convict ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Ergonomic Keyboard And Mouse Prevent Carpal Tunnel... Office workers in Mound, Minnesota, may be aware of the importance of the ergonomic keyboard and mouse to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive stress disorders. However, these are merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the health problems researchers have linked to prolonged sitting. High blood sugar The Washington Post reports that poor posture does contribute to a variety of spinal issues, such as neck strain and muscle tissue damage. However, studies show that even at an ergonomic station, the pancreas is negatively affected. That organ produces insulin to help the body regulate the amount of sugar in the blood. When a person sits for hours at a time, muscles stop responding the way they should to insulin, and that prompts the pancreas to go into overdrive. As a result, the risk for diabetes rises. Low mental function Unused muscles take a toll in other areas of the body, as well. Fat is not burned as efficiently when muscle movement is restricted, and that leads to sluggish blood flow and less oxygen in the brain. Lower mental capacity is one side effect, and depression may follow, since the body does not produce the chemicals that improve mood and outlook. Cancer According to Time Magazine, a recent analysis of 43 studies indicates a clear link between sitting for hours during the day, and colon, lung and endometrial cancer. Regular exercise did not lower the risks, which were 66 percent higher for those who are typically deskbound at work. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Flawed News And Public Opinions Essay Flawed News and Public Opinions TV Journalism has been degraded to the point in which true factual and informative reporting free of bias has been replaced with short news bytes centered and focused on its entertainment value alone. Within the political process, this has mostly served as a disservice to both politicians and the general public audience. Edward J Epstein published a book entitled News from Nowhere in which he observed NBC s news department and how decisions were made on what was news worthy. He discovered a decline in television network ratings and profits caused executives to change marketing strategies. This new direction in news reporting would be tailored to an audience low in sophistication with the network defining what would be newsworthy. Epstein wrote: Dull and complicated stories would need to be of enormous importance to get on the air: but relatively trivial stories would make the cut if interesting enough . (Edwards, p. 406). Supporting this observation Washington Post editors Leonard Downie Jr and Robert Kaiser argue that Entertainment has pushed out information in the TV news business and that the history of TV news can be summarized in a couple sentences . (Edwards, p. 406). An exception to this practice would be networks assigning their best reporters to cover major events or Lead Stories at well established sources such as the White House, Congress, or the Pentagon. • 13. Evaluate The Pros And Cons Of 360-Degree Appraisal Evaluate the pros and cons of a 360 degree evaluation method. Performance is evaluated, and information is provided to employees that enables them to reflect on their performance and develop plans. The 360 degree approach allows a wider range of people to evaluate and give feedback on an employee s performance. A manager might conduct a self appraisal, as well as receive feedback from peers, subordinates, superiors, and even customers and clients. Some advantages of 360 degree appraisal are that employees can get more than one perspective, and that people who work closely with the employee on a day to day basis can give feedback on overall performance, not just once a month or once a year. It is also a useful technique for meeting customer needs. It is sometimes easy for members within an organization to lose sight of the customers perspectives, and 360 degree appraisal brings the customers viewpoints into the larger picture. Some disadvantages include the possibility of spiteful evaluations from disgruntled subordinates, especially if evaluations are anonymous, coerced positive evaluations from intimidated employees, or misguided evaluations from employees who are not knowledgeable enough about the job they are evaluating. In The Infernal Machine there are female characters, such as Jocasta and the Sphinx, who show power and authority. Likewise, in Antigone, characters, such as Antigone and her sister, Ismene, also show power and supremacy. In Ubu Roi, the main character that showed power through rule was Mere Ubu. Sears Human Relationship Management After finding Sears Holdings Corporation standing on the Fortune s 500 worst companies list, I decided to do a little research on the Fortune s 500 page to gather some valuable information about the enterprise. While looking at the information provided on the website, I noticed that Sears Holdings Corporation previously ranked 99 and the company is now listed at 111 per Fortune s 500. (Beta, 2016). Not only did the company fall twelve spots, but it is also showing a negative revenue change of 19.4%, and it is indicating a decrease in profits by $1,129. (Beta, 2016). Also, a productive employee would be someone who not only asks a customer if they are finding everything but helping satisfy the client s needs before the check out process. • 25. The Extinction Of Dinosaurs Cribbins 1 Hook. The extinction of dinosaurs is a mystery in itself that has stumped scientists all over the world for decades, and they still look for new answers every day. Scientists know some background information, but cannot connect the dots to see the bigger picture. There was little interest in the topic until Luis and Walter Alvarez proposed a groundbreaking hypothesis, which today we call the Alvarez Hypothesis . This new idea of the Alvarez s was exciting, and therefore got the media talking about it, which in turn started the search of how the dinosaurs went extinct. Another popular theory of how dinosaurs went extinct is the Volcanism Theory. Scientists have recently found new evidence supporting both sides of this debate. Although many dinosaur extinction theories exist, only the Alvarez Hypothesis is correct. Scientists abase their extinction theories off one of commonly known piece of information: that there was a change in climate around the time of the K T boundary. Both major theories support this idea, and both believe that something blocked out the Sun for many months. This stopped the photosynthesis in plants, the base of the food chain. Without plants, the food chain was majorly affected. A domino effect happened, and one species died out after another. Eventually all species of dinosaurs died out. Scientists know that there was a global climatic change, but are not sure how it happened. The topic of the K T Extinction received little ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Treatment facilities are experiencing multidrug resistant organisms at an all time high due to a lack of proper infection prevention protocol. Nosocomial infections are the most common complication that can arise during a hospital stay (Insert citation). A majority of developing countries are facing multidrug resistant organisms caused by the lack of infection prevention protocol and a large amount of pressure to provide health care in poor living and treatment conditions. Over use of antibiotic treatment is part of the reason large numbers of multidrug resistant organisms are appearing in the healthcare environment. Implementing more stringent infection prevention protocol, assessing health care facilities use of proper infection control, and critically analyzing use of antibiotics will aid in elimination of nosocomial infections and decrease the average hospital stay. Elite social status was a great deal to the wealth people in this era. They would do everything in their power to ensure that their social status was unharmed. The increase in wealth allowed room for elite to make rules that were to be governed in sexual relationships. It was so important to pass on the elite social status and wealth that it became codified as written laws for the elite. Wealth impacted the elite because it controlled who they could marry in order to pass on the social status. The most acceptable form of a relationship that would form into a marriage in an elite social status would be a relationship between a man and a woman, both coming from elite families. The wealth would then be able to be passed down, which exemplifies the impact wealth had on the elite social status. Elite men that formed relationships with a non elite woman would only be viewed her as a mistress for sexual pleasure. A elite woman and a non elite man would cause shame to be brought upon her family and the man could possibly be murdered for his actions. In order to get started with my analysis I first pondered what is the thesis, and what is the overall argument the WWF (World Wildlife) organization presents with having a Bluefin Tuna with the face of a panda. As I kept evaluating the advertisement other questions came to mind such as who is their target audience and why do they arrange the ad by presenting it with a close up shot of a Bluefin Tuna with the face of a panda leading a school of fish. There s also a question at the bottom right corner of the ad to get their point across asking would you care more if it were a panda . I found that the key to answering those questions is understanding why the organization chooses to present the ad the way they does tying it in with their quote. They relate the extinction of the two animals, making the reader feel guilty because they understand the inverse relationship of sympathy towards the two animals the world has. Guilt is one of the stronger human emotions, and the organization realize that, and use it to get people to care.
