society during the Puritan era because the Puritan system of government was a theocracy. The
Puritans of the early colonies in America linked their moral standards with official laws. The
Puritans brought strong religious beliefs to bear in all colonies north of Virginia. Ministers had
great political influence, and civil authorities exercised a large measure of control over church

Atomic Number Is A Correct Answer
Atomic number, is a correct answer. Atomic number is the total number of proton of the element.
(Gilbert, 2012) It is always used to differentiate the elements since every element have their unique
atomic number. The differences of atomic number enabled elements to react with other substances
differently. For example, Neon which have atomic numberof 8, acts like an inert gas. Meanwhile
group 1 element Sodium which have atomic number of 11, reacts vigorously with water. Such
characteristic have made elements unique from each other.
Choice C. Mass number, is an incorrect answer. Mass number is the total number of protonand
neutron of the element. The unit for mass number is atomic mass unit(amu) or Dalton(Da). (Brand,
2013) The presence of isotopes might cause two elements to have the same atomic weight. For
example, the atomic weight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This explains why elements in periodic table are not differentiated and grouped based on their
atomic weight.
Choice D. Only A and B are correct, is not a correct answer. Since atomic weight (choice A) is not
a correct answer, choice D is eliminated.
Choice E. Only A, B, C are correct, is an incorrect answer. Since atomic weight (choice A), and
mass number (choice C) are incorrect answer, choice E is eliminated.
The ability to differentiate elements through atomic numbers is helpful in real world. The elements
are grouped together in the periodic table based on the number of valence electrons which are
related to the atomic number of the element. The elements in the same group always have similar
chemical properties. Such knowledge enabled us to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the

One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest Essay example
Throughout the film, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest , many changes differentiate the movie
from the book. Not only can these differences be seen in the characters of the novel, but also in
the series of events that make this story so interesting. In this essay, the significance of these
differences will be revealed as well as the reasons for the changes. The first difference between the
filmand the novelis the narration. In the book, Chief Bromden is the narrator who reveals
McMurphy s story in the mental hospital. Chief is the main charactersince he is the one who s life
we learn about the most throughout the book. We learn that he is a paranoid schizophrenic, and a
half breed Indian. We also learn about his family and his past.... Show more content on

The fishing episode is another great difference between the novel and the movie. In the book,
the fishing trip was a planned event that the Nurse kept trying to ruin. Despite her attempts,
McMurphy managed to convince Dr. Spivey to join the group when a prostitute named Candy
came with only one car. In the movie, McMurphy hijacks a school bus and encourages the other
men of his ward to participate in this act of rebellion against Nurse Ratched. Also, the former
fisherman, George, was on the fishing trip in the book, but was not at all present in the movie.
The fishing trip in the movie was so different from the book because they wanted to show that
McMurphy was not conforming to the Nurse s rules. Unlike in the movie, Cheswick was not
present for the fishing trip since he was dead. We see from this that McMurphy would have
normally asked before taking the men on the trip since he was trying to get on her better side. In
the film, McMurphy remains the noncomformist person he was, up until his lobotomy. However,
in the book, Chief observes McMurphy s short attempt to conform to Nurse Ratched s rules. He
notices the growing distrust of the other patients towards McMurphy and his increasing sadness as
he senses his own doom. The ending is probably the biggest difference between the novel and the
film. The book contains an episode

Each and every one of these characters influences Taylor and plays an important role in shaping
her life. Mattie, the owner of a tire shop in Tucson Arizona, acts as a surrogate mother to Taylor.
She is wise, caring, and loving towards Taylor. When Taylor first stopped at Mattie s shop,
Mattie helped Taylor take care of Turtle. She was very hospitable and gave Turtle some crackers
and juice. Lou Ann Ruiz, Taylor s best friend and roommate acts as a source of guidance and
support to Taylor. Even though most of the time Taylor is helping Lou Ann with her insecurities
and paranoia, Lou Ann never fails to support Taylor at her darkest times. Together, they function
as a single unit, reciprocating each other s beliefs and thoughts. Estevan and Esperanza, two
refugees fleeing from their cruel life in Guatemala, also played an important role in shaping
Taylor. After meeting those two, Taylor realizes that life is not as blissful as she thought it was.
She finds Estevan and Esperanza s struggles in Guatemala heartbreaking. Taylor begins to grow a
close attachment to Estevan. After Estevan and his wife leave for Oklahoma, Taylor calls her
mom, saying I just love somebody I was in love with (Kingsolver 234), implying that her bond with
Estevan was something closer than friendship, despite the fact that he did not acknowledge or

Conforming Countries, The American Way
Conforming Countries, The American Way Colleges all over the United States have a variety of
foreign language programs, cultural events, and study abroad programs to help American students
have a better understanding of other cultures, languages, and geographical landmarks. Each of these
elements are very distinctive to one s every day life. Languages, cultures, and geographical
landmarks distinguish one s characteristics. An individual s characteristics define their human
identity and their purpose in life. Apart from one s daily life, others display their characteristics on
social media whether it is their religion, beliefs, morals, or personality to visually express how one
feels about their own human identity. Today s modern society connects with other countries mainly
by social media, but does not get a full understanding of how others around the world go about his
or her daily agenda. College students throughout the United Stateshave various different ways to
apply the American cultureto other countries by arranging the same types of programs in colleges
around the world. College students can introduce the English language by providing more
programs in colleges throughout the world and enforcing the program to be a requirement to obtain
the desired degree one must wish to acquire. Although many countries already have an English

World History
The Radical and the Republic Review
In The Radical and the Republican by James Oakes, the author explains the revolutionary lives of
Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. The text explains their trials to help end slavery and how
it helped shaped the future of 19th 20th century America. The book puts into range, the aspect of
the politics involving the two men. According to Oakes, both Abraham and Frederick
...hated...slavery... (Oakes 90). There hatred for slavery rose from different origins and intentions.
The text helps communicate the significance of perspective and position when trying to solve a
problem in one s court.
From the beginning, Douglass and Lincoln experienced struggles that impacted their viewpoints
and perspective. Both of them grew up poor and stained by poverty. In light of their analogous
qualities and achievements they learned to teach themselves. Both orators... (Oakes 90) had
compelling views on the benefit of a strong work ethic and the reward that can arise out of such
efforts. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

during the war, was raised going to a church that, ...filled them with notions about the wrong of
slavery and the rights of man. (Oakes 41). Even though he was exposed to this thinking, Lincoln
didn t exactly support nor believe in racial equality, but he still thought slavery the system itself was

The Fifth Business And The Manticore By Robertson Davies
There is one human emotion that can paralyse us, lead us to lie both to ourselves and others, to
take action that we don t like, and to cripple any rational thought processes. It is self perpetuating
if allowed to get out of control. Its side effects are either anger, aggressiveness or fear and
reclusiveness. Its symptoms are irrational behaviour, lying, anguish, lack of self esteem, and in
extreme cases, thoughts of suicide. It is guilt. In both novels The Fifth Businessand The Manticore
by Robertson Davies, guilt is a reoccurring theme throughout the novels and is a major force in one
s life. Davies demonstrates this by having both character feeling guilt. While both novels
demonstrated themes of guilt, Guilt comes from terrible Childhood experiences is a topic that
keeps running all through both The Fifth Business and returns throughout the following book in the
series, The Manticore , and its effect on the lives of the characters Dunstan Ramsay in Fifth
Business and David Staunton in The Manticore . Both Character show events of guilt in the past
appear to shape the whole course life they take, how compromise is a must before true identity or
personality can be uncovered, and their similar thoughts on religion: however, the main character in
Fifth Business shows a stronger effect of guilt due to horrible childhood incident.

South Cobb High School Analysis
An interesting task I was given this week was breaking up a fight between two students. As a

participated in breaking up a fight before until now. I saw two students pushing and shoving each
other violently and I sprung into action. I ran to the two boys and raised my voice and quickly
separated the two. This was interesting because it was my first experience doing that. Another
interesting task I was given was helping one of my autistic students fine a group during physical
education. This student is very anti social and needed my help. I had to look for the perfect group

Analysis Of As You Like It, A Play Written By William...
As you like it, a play written by William Shakespeare in 1623, is a comical interpretation of the
antithesis that exists between living in nature versus living in a society. The play addresses
philosophical dilemmas that are directly connect to the behavior of the characters. Throughout the
comparison of these two settings, the reader is exposed to various levels of human interaction. The
first one relates to how the characters participate as a community. And the second one approaches
familial relationships that demonstrate individual fluctuations depending of where the characters
interact. To capture this theme, the author relies on the use of juxtaposition and dynamic
characters. Consequently, Shakespeare highlights the irony of human behaviorby exposing dynamic
characters to two different settings, The Forest of Ardenand the Court. The playultimately suggests
that interacting with nature creates a utopian society that contrasts with a hierarchical court, thus
demonstrating how the characters can reinvent themselves in roles that were inaccessible to them
before. Initially, the play begins by introducing a familial conflict between two brothers, Orlando
and Oliver. Orlando is the starting character of the play and his dialogue describes how his brother
treats him. He states that, My brother...keeps me rustically at home (4). He continues emphasizing
the evilness of his brother s treatment by mentioning that horses are bred better (4) and how

effects of which technology has on written publications and the freedom of the mind of an

The pulse is an indication of an individual s heart rate. When checking for a pulse in the primary
survey, begin with palpating the patient s radial or carotid artery (Basic Patient Care 2012, p.

Toyota Recall Essay
Financing the Toyota Recall. INTRODUCTION In May of 2006, The Toyota Motor Corporation
initiated a recall of nearly one million vehicles around the world to replace faulty parts that could
cause drivers to lose control of the steering wheel. The recall affected vehicles across 10 models,
including the popular Prius. The intermediate shafts and sliding yokes in the recalled cars lacked
the necessary strength and could distort or crack under strong pressure, causing drivers to lose
control of the steering wheel, according to Toyota (ConsumerAffairs.Com). Owners of these
vehicles were allowed to have these defects repaired at the cost of Toyota and required

The can utilize debt or equity financing. If they choose debt financing, they will need to generate
capitol for the recall by borrowing the funds. These funds will likely be obtained from a bank or
the owner. It is important to note they could seek help from the government given the size of the
recall amount or even the general public via bond but these would be unlikely scenarios given there
current cash position.
Essentially, debt financing offers Toyota loan opportunities to be considered a temporary
investment with a stated return to the lenders. While the term may be long or short, and
potentially rolled over, it is important to note this avenue would prove less costly then equity
financing. Given the history and habit, if you will, of Toyota s recall history, a short term loan
rolled over as necessary would be realistic.
General capitol for the recall can be raised by providing ownership of the company through equity
financing. The advantage of this is essentially, the financing is forever, unless of course Toyota
chose to buy back the stock. The greatest flexible advantage to Toyota with equity financing is of
course the payback period is endless. Some disadvantages to equity funding for Toyota is the higher
cost versus debt financing and the clear fact they cannot determine the return. The capitol
appreciation of the stock and dividends, if paid, cannot be guaranteed, thus higher risk is a factor
worthy of careful consideration. Although

Analysis Of 12 OClock High
The movie 12 O clock High was filmed and produced in 1949 directly after World War Two. This
was a critical moment in American history simply because this was the first time that America was
the greatest power globally. Due to this rise in international responsibility from power, patriotism
soared in the United States. Culturally films like 12 O clock High were produced highlighting
important roles that were played in the defeat of the Axis powers during World War Two. On a
more extensive note, the film displays what leadershipinfluence tactics can be used to drastically
turn a unit around during a time of war. This unit, part of the American Army Air Force, is known
as the 918th Bomber Group located in England, during the year of 1942. At the beginning of the
film, Col. Davenport was the Air Commanding Officerwith Lt. Col. Gately as the Air Executive
Officer. However, General Savage had to step in and relieve Col. Davenport of command after
several major battle losses cause morale to fall to an all time low. Additionally, Lt. Col. Gately is
also relieved of command as Air Executive Officer and placed as an aircraft commander due to
his inability to fly missions and be a part of the team effort . This is the major turning point in the
movie as from this point forward the 918th Bomber Group eventually becomes a brutal fighting
force with the help Major Stovall who is the administrator for the Air Commanding Officer. This

Eva Quote De Peron
Eva Duarte Peron (Evita) Thesis: Her experience as a member of the lower class who overcame
poverty and her belief in bringing justice to the poor made everything that she did for the people
of Argentina possible. Eva Peron Mi vida por Peron! ( My life for Peron! ) [Evita] cried a
thousand times before the roaring crowds, and then she died. There are parallels that could be
drawn between her life and the lives of other obsessively ambitious women who have forced their
way through poverty and fame.but instead popular memory finds parallels between Evita s life

She also continued her work in the Secretariat for no salary. Her only earnings were the love and
affection from Peron and the Argentine people (Peron 125). On June 19, 1948, Evita founded
the Maria Eva Duarte de Peron Foundation, or EPF. This foundation was created to provide
national safety where the government was weak (To Be II). The Foundation s work was
necessary in the lower class areas of the country, rather than in the cities. Eva believed that the
descamisados were the base, the foundation, of the revolution. They were an essential part of the
country s people (Peron 80). The Social Help Crusade created housing and neighborhoods that
were affordable for the poor. The crusade also created jobs for the unemployed and school food
programs. It provided inexpensive hospital supplies and free medication. Workers unions
donated many of these materials. Evita began The Eva Peron Hospital Train, which provided
free check ups, vaccinations, x rays, and general medical care to people who either did not have
access to hospitals or who could not afford a visit to the doctor (To Be II). Twelve hospitals and
two policlinicos (hospitals for the railroad workers) were built with the same objective as the

Molar Mass Of Volatile Liquid Lab Report
Molar Mass of a Volatile Liquid
2.Objective We receive a unknown volatile liquid and try to find it s molar mass.In order to do this
we must know how to convert units of measurements and the formula required.
3.Introduction In order to do this experiment you must know certain terms and formulas. Molar
mass is defined as one mole of this substance. The molar mass is what we are trying to find. One
equation use d to find molar mass is MW=m/n. Another thing needed to know is the Ideal Gas Law.
The equation used for this is PV=nRT.
4.List of materials/equipment and Safety Precautions
Hot Plate

Florence Flask
Aluminum Foil

Safety Precautions One thing to make sure you do is clear you re table of book
bags, food, clothing, etc. I say this because we are working with chemicals and a hot plate which
can be dangerous if theses items are next to them. Also when we are heating the volatile liquid
which is in the florence flask we have to make sure that the flask isn t touching the beaker in which

8.Conlcusion The main goal for this experiment was to find the molar mass of a unknown volatile
liquid. We ended up getting the wrong answer because of a source of error. It is important that you
understand the formulas used in this experiment. Both MW=m/n and PV=nRT are needed for this

Argumentative Essay On Nuclear War

Rough Draft
Nuclear warfare is arguably one of the darkest topics and one of the biggest threats in today s
society. A Nuclear War would cause exponential chaos and destruction to our world and many lives
would be lost. Many countries have nuclear weapons at their disposal. The first people to create
nuclear weapons were the scientist at the Manhattan project. The Manhattan Project is one of the
most important and technologically advanced events involving the smartest minds of all time and
changed the course of history.
In the evening of June 18th, 1942, the Manhattan project was ordered to be created by president
Roosevelt. Roosevelt order this weapon to be created because Hitler was making progress in
Europe and our naval base at pearl harbor got destroyed months earlier. The man placed in
control of the project was Colonel J.C. Marshall. The main goal of the Manhattan project was to
build a nuclear bomb before Germany could, it was a race to see who would build it first and the
winner of the race most likely would win the war. Because it was a race against Germany,
Colonel Marshall wanted every single aspect of the project to be kept secret. By fall of the same
year that it was created they had recruited hundreds of scientists to work on this project but it still
was not enough. The scientist worked on different aspects of the creation and were not allowed to
talk back in fourth about the part of the project that they were

The Invention Of The Driverless Car
In this day and age, we as humans must accept that there are going to be many cultural
changes. No doubt that we persist to create new, mind blowing technology almost every year,
dislodging manifold new ideas. As a matter of fact, in early 2000, the first smartphone was
introduced, charming the world. At that point, who would have ever predicted that someday we
would be carrying small, handheld computers in our pockets? However, the first computer was
introduced in 1946. Although the computer was the size of an entire room and weighed 50 tons,
it came as a shock to the world that this was even achievable. In fact, as living organisms, it is in
our DNA to adapt and evolve to our better selves. Now, in the year 2017, we have announced the
invention of a driverless car. Strangely enough, the idea of a normal car would have been crazy
in 1000. In addition, this driverless car could bring about a better, more advanced version of our
lifestyle. The first reason that the new driverless car is extremely beneficial is how you can ride
inside of the car without controlling it. The passage states, People will no longer have to do the

Who Is Maria In The Sound Of Music
Film: The Sound of Music
Character: Maria
Maria is a free spirited, gentle, kind character who is driven almost to a fault to be a role model
for the children she is trusted to care for. She loves children and her point of view comes from a
kind religious background, but religion is rarely mentioned in the film.
Maria is a caucasian, straight female who appears to be in her early thirties. She is a very
humble character who does not judge based on external appearances. Prior to her occupation as
The Governess, she resided at an abbey. Psychologically she appears to be free spirited. We do not
know anything about her political viewpoints, although she does run away from the Nazi party in
Austria as it comes to power. Physiologically she is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

She partially achieves her goal. She does build a relationship with the guy. But it does not last. As a
result they are not together.
She doesn t really have a character arc. She takes on less of a motherly role by the end of the story
as a result of Maria s presence.
Character: Friedrich von Trapp
Frederich has a very tough exterior. He is forced to be the man of the house when his father
leaves on long trips. Inside, he just wants to be a child. His point of view is of the oldest male of
the children.
Physiologically he is blonde haired, blue eyed, and reasonably tall for a 14 year old. He is a
strapping young man. Sociologically he is the man of the family because his father is often on long
trips away on Submarines ships.
Friedrich does not have much of a goal for the story. The only goal he really has is to just be a

This goal does not change.
The stakes are that he will not become the full man he is meant to be.
This goal does not put him in conflict with other characters.

Black Lives Matter Controversy
In recent years, there has been a variety of events that have occurred which caused people to
realize the inequality that still happens in modern day society. Between gay marriage becoming
legal in 2015 and the recent presidential election, there have been many situations that have
caused a form of division between the people of the United States. A major group that has shed
some light on the inequality that occurs in modern day society is the Black Lives Matter
(BLM) movement. The BLM website states that this they label themselves as a group of 50+
organizations that have come together with a renewed purpose to spread a common vision and
agenda. Although many people view them as a great step toward furthering equality amongst all
people, there is a select group of people who disagree. The Black Lives matter website also states
that their common vision is to continue to move towards a world in which the full humanity and
dignity of all people is recognized. While doing this, BLM also intends to include other groups of
people who experience oppression. Such as the LBGTQ community, women, Muslims, people who
were previously or currently undocumented and much more. One of the major arguments of the
Black Lives Matter movement is to end the war on black people. There have been many situations

Why Is Charles Kane A Good Person
I believe that Charles Foster Kane could ve been a good person, but ended going down the
wrong path. He was given a large sum of money when he became an adult, but in return basically
had his childhood stolen from him (Hughes). His mother wanted him to live the rich life instead
of in a little town where she was living and to eventually inherit her recently found fortune
(Hughes). When he was given this money, he let it take over his life and lost sense of how he
should behave. Because of this, I do not personally like Charles Kane due to how he let the money
affect his decisions.
I believe that the author portrays Charles Kane as sort of an evil man through the things he does,
but shows that Kane doesn t realize how he is behaving is wrong. One example of this would be
how he ran his newspaper company the New York Inquirer (Citizen Kane). He presented the news
in the best way possible to get as many people as he could to read it. Even if he had to lie a little
bit in the title or in the actual stories, all he cared about was being everyone s main source of
news. This however was the opposite of what he originally wanted to do which was to present
only honest and true news. One time he lied about the news was in relation to his second wife

Lieutenant Calley grew up in Columbus, George near Fort Benning. Columbus is a staunchly
conservative town of nearly 180,000 people, where a huge billboard proclaims JESUS IS
LORD. With landmarks like Arsenal Place and newsstand offerings like the Bayonet and Army
Times, it sometimes suggests a military theme park (Unger). After Calley finished high school he
decided to go to college but ended up doing poorly. He moved through several jobs unsuccessfully
eventually enlisting in the military. With his firm conservative background, it is no surprise that
as the Vietnam War grew and he was unsuccessful in all his other endeavors that he would enlist.
He went to basic training at Fort Benning then after which he was transferred to Fort Lewis,
Washington where he trained as a clerk typist (Biography). Calley applied to Officer Candidate
School, was accepted and completed it in 1967.
Calley was described to be an average officer. His training was cut short and sent to Vietnam.
The Vietnam war was characterized by a lack of public support on the home front, and thus
carried over to a war fighting force that was less than happy to be there and even less likely to act
like the military members that had been seen in past wars. The overall culture of the war was very
different. The war also used indiscriminant bombings with napalm. Villages were destroyed even
with civilians in them just to eliminate a few Viet Cong fighters.

John Maynard Keynes Essay examples
John Maynard Keynes
John Maynard Keynes was born in 1883 which means he lived around the same time period as
the seven creative individuals which Howard Gardner chose to focus on in his book Creating
Minds. I chose to look at the life of Maynard Keynes because it is such a fascinating and diverse
one. While entailing some of the same features found in the lives of those Gardner focused on,
Maynard s life includes a lot of differences and adds some interesting twists as well. It can only be
beneficial and interesting to see how this creative individual fits into Gardner s model. Keynes was
one of the most influential economists of the twentieth century, and one of only a handful of social
scientists who, through their writings, have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through her willingness to depart from the traditional, she was one of the earliest influence on
Keynes. She broke out of the traditional role placed on women during that period, thereby setting
an example for Maynard who was very close to his mother.
Now we must take into the account the Keynes colorful and distinguished ancestry. The early
Keynes were people of high standing whose influence can still be seen in the names of places in
England such as Horstead Keynes. Both the maternal and paternal side of Keynes ancestors were
non conformists who remained steadfast Roman Catholics during a time of religious persecution.
Maynard studied his ancestry extensivly and was very proud of it. As a student he drew up a
family tree, and in later years wrote an introduction to one of his books based on it.
The Pride of ancestry has in great measure passed away, for the fast rising wave of democracy
day by day obliterates the old land marks and traditions that were once held dear. Some, however,
I trust there are, to whom the great names of the past remain in living memory, who shape their
course in the world under a deep sense of responsibility of bearing them; and fill their appointed
position and do their appointed work commanded by the gaze of all their ancestors. (Hession 363)
Some speculate that this was an introduction to an autobiography Keynes was writing at the time of
his death. This passage shows how noteworthy his ancestry was to Maynard and how it provided

Theme Of Trifles And A Doll House
The plot of both Susan Glaspell s Trifles and Henrik Ibsen s A Doll House provides scope for a
few scenes that lack the presence of all or any men. These scenes, consisting of communication
between the female characters, assist in developing the theme of women openly defying the fact
that the society they live in is primarily run by men. All the power and authority in their society,
no matter the situation, belongs to the men while the women are simply excluded. The women
in these plays defy the norms set by society and manage to evade the expectations of their
patriarchal societies. In Trifles , a division between the two sexes is quickly established as the
men enter the house and huddle by the stove while the women remain still by the door. As the
men start their detective work the women wander around the house to gather some of Mrs.
Wright s belongings. While searching for her belongings, the women discover an empty
birdcage and find a dead bird in a pretty box (Glaspell, 956) inside of Mrs. Wright s sewing
basket. Mrs. Hale jumps at the sight of the bird s neck and Mrs. Peters points out how somebody
wrung its neck (Glaspell, 957) similar to the way Mr. Wright was found earlier. Mrs. Wright s
murder of her husband can be seen as an act of feminine revolt against the male dominated society.
Another example of women defying against patriarchyis of Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters hiding the
evidence that can prove Mrs. Wright to be guilty of her husband s murder. Before their departure
from the Wright s house, as the men are returning, the sheriff suggests that the county attorney take
a look through the items Mrs. Peters had collected for Mrs. Wright. However, he decides that
anything collected by the women cannot have much significance and overlooks it. His assumption
that the women would have came forward if they saw any possible evidence costs him. The sheriff
s belief is that women derive their identity solely from their relationships with men; the dominant
gender.
The sheriff and the county attorney also joke about how Mrs. Peters is basically married to the
law (Glaspell, 959) suggesting that she would not hide anything because she is a devoted follower
of the law. Ironically, she had concealed

Fight Or Flight Theory
There are three different theories that are used when talking about how we react to stress through
the physiological aspect or the psychological aspect. The first is part of the physiological aspect
of stress called the Cannon Fight or Flight theory which was proposed in 1914. Fight or Flight
response is a physiological stressresponse that evolved to help organisms to survive immediate
danger. The theory states that when an organism, human being or animal, faces imminent danger
(acute stressor) the body arouses quickly and is ready to act via two different systems. They are the
sympathetic nervous systemand the endocrine system. The sympathetic nervous system stimulates
the adrenal medullawhich is part of the endocrine system and is the region that produces the
hormones such as adrenaline and noradrenaline. These hormones increase heart rate, blood flow,
and glucose levels to prepare the body for an emergency. This response from the body suggests that
the body knows how to protect itself and reach homeostasis. These two systems work together to
either fight against the danger or flight away from the danger. Lord, King and Pfister in 1976
studied the Fight or Flight response in animals through a very unethical study. They administered
chemicals on male hooded Wistar rats which inhibited the neurotransmitters from functioning
normally. This made it very difficult for the rats to escape an electric shock. The results of the study
suggest that the Flight or Fight response

Violent Games Argumentative Essay
According to Forbes and CNN, on December 14, 2012, 20 year old Adam Lanza went into
Sandy Hook Elementary School and shot and killed 28 people. Adam Lanza was addicted to
violent games, which may have caused him to kill many. Violent games have a negative effect on
kids. There is a price you have to pay when you play these games, and that is kids futures. Violent
games can distract kids from what is important. These distractors can turn kids off of the path to
success. They can cloud students minds and causing them to only think about the game, not the
consequences or turnout. Some of the decisions can have long term effect, education, jobs, and
altogether a person s future. There should be a stop to violent role playing games for kids.... Show

For example according to Edlab, Kids learn faster than adults because the prefrontal cortex of the
brain . If kids play violent games they will grow up learning and thinking about violence. This
can cause them to be aggressive without them noticing. By making these kids criminals it will
ruin their lives, all because of a game. This shows how killing is included in kids games. People
may say, Kids may see violence in some games, but not a lot of them. This is a false accusation
and is not the case. Violent role playing games can distract kids from right from wrong, because
they will not know them apart. According to CBS News, 90 percent of children play video
games, with 85 percent of those games containing some violence . With so many kids playing
violent games kids are becoming more violent and aggressive. By so much violence being
displayed in kids lives, they may think that the violence they see in games are okay and are
normal. There have been many shootings over the past year. You hear about one every day on the
news. This is because kids are being negatively affected by violent games.
Violent games are distracting kids from success. These games may seem harmless to kids at the
time, but it can ruin opportunities for their success. These games not only distract kids from school,
but make them do things that can make them in the eyes of society, a criminal. For example in

Meanwhile group 1 element Sodium which have atomic number of 11, reacts vigorously with water. Such characteristic have made elements unique from each other. Choice C. Mass number, is an incorrect answer. Mass number is the total number of protonand neutron of the element. The unit for mass number is atomic mass unit(amu) or Dalton(Da). • 5. One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest Essay example Throughout the film, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest , many changes differentiate the movie from the book. Not only can these differences be seen in the characters of the novel, but also in the series of events that make this story so interesting. In this essay, the significance of these differences will be revealed as well as the reasons for the changes. The first difference between the filmand the novelis the narration. In the book, Chief Bromden is the narrator who reveals McMurphy s story in the mental hospital. Chief is the main charactersince he is the one who s life we learn about the most throughout the book. We learn that he is a paranoid schizophrenic, and a half breed Indian. We also learn about his family and his past.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fishing episode is another great difference between the novel and the movie. In the book, the fishing trip was a planned event that the Nurse kept trying to ruin. Despite her attempts, McMurphy managed to convince Dr. Spivey to join the group when a prostitute named Candy came with only one car. In the movie, McMurphy hijacks a school bus and encourages the other men of his ward to participate in this act of rebellion against Nurse Ratched. Also, the former fisherman, George, was on the fishing trip in the book, but was not at all present in the movie. The fishing trip in the movie was so different from the book because they wanted to show that McMurphy was not conforming to the Nurse s rules. Unlike in the movie, Cheswick was not present for the fishing trip since he was dead. We see from this that McMurphy would have normally asked before taking the men on the trip since he was trying to get on her better side. As you like it, a play written by William Shakespeare in 1623, is a comical interpretation of the antithesis that exists between living in nature versus living in a society. The play addresses philosophical dilemmas that are directly connect to the behavior of the characters. Throughout the comparison of these two settings, the reader is exposed to various levels of human interaction. The first one relates to how the characters participate as a community. And the second one approaches familial relationships that demonstrate individual fluctuations depending of where the characters interact. To capture this theme, the author relies on the use of juxtaposition and dynamic characters. Consequently, Shakespeare highlights the irony of human behaviorby exposing dynamic characters to two different settings, The Forest of Ardenand the Court. The playultimately suggests that interacting with nature creates a utopian society that contrasts with a hierarchical court, thus demonstrating how the characters can reinvent themselves in roles that were inaccessible to them before. Initially, the play begins by introducing a familial conflict between two brothers, Orlando and Oliver. He was given a large sum of money when he became an adult, but in return basically had his childhood stolen from him (Hughes). His mother wanted him to live the rich life instead of in a little town where she was living and to eventually inherit her recently found fortune (Hughes). When he was given this money, he let it take over his life and lost sense of how he should behave. Because of this, I do not personally like Charles Kane due to how he let the money affect his decisions. I believe that the author portrays Charles Kane as sort of an evil man through the things he does, but shows that Kane doesn t realize how he is behaving is wrong. One example of this would be how he ran his newspaper company the New York Inquirer (Citizen Kane). He presented the news in the best way possible to get as many people as he could to read it. Even if he had to lie a little bit in the title or in the actual stories, all he cared about was being everyone s main source of news. The early Keynes were people of high standing whose influence can still be seen in the names of places in England such as Horstead Keynes. • 43. Theme Of Trifles And A Doll House The plot of both Susan Glaspell s Trifles and Henrik Ibsen s A Doll House provides scope for a few scenes that lack the presence of all or any men. These scenes, consisting of communication between the female characters, assist in developing the theme of women openly defying the fact that the society they live in is primarily run by men. All the power and authority in their society, no matter the situation, belongs to the men while the women are simply excluded. The women in these plays defy the norms set by society and manage to evade the expectations of their patriarchal societies. In Trifles , a division between the two sexes is quickly established as the men enter the house and huddle by the stove while the women remain still by the door. As the men start their detective work the women wander around the house to gather some of Mrs. Wright s belongings. While searching for her belongings, the women discover an empty birdcage and find a dead bird in a pretty box (Glaspell, 956) inside of Mrs. Wright s sewing basket. Mrs. Hale jumps at the sight of the bird s neck and Mrs. Peters points out how somebody wrung its neck (Glaspell, 957) similar to the way Mr. Wright was found earlier. Mrs. Wright s murder of her husband can be seen as an act of feminine revolt against the male dominated society. Another example of women defying against patriarchyis of Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters hiding the evidence that can prove Mrs. Wright to be guilty of her husband s murder. Before their departure from the Wright s house, as the men are returning, the sheriff suggests that the county attorney take a look through the items Mrs. Peters had collected for Mrs. Wright. However, he decides that anything collected by the women cannot have much significance and overlooks it. His assumption that the women would have came forward if they saw any possible evidence costs him. The sheriff s belief is that women derive their identity solely from their relationships with men; the dominant gender. • 44. Fight Or Flight Theory There are three different theories that are used when talking about how we react to stress through the physiological aspect or the psychological aspect. The first is part of the physiological aspect of stress called the Cannon Fight or Flight theory which was proposed in 1914. Fight or Flight response is a physiological stressresponse that evolved to help organisms to survive immediate danger. The theory states that when an organism, human being or animal, faces imminent danger (acute stressor) the body arouses quickly and is ready to act via two different systems. They are the sympathetic nervous systemand the endocrine system. The sympathetic nervous system stimulates the adrenal medullawhich is part of the endocrine system and is the region that produces the hormones such as adrenaline and noradrenaline. These hormones increase heart rate, blood flow, and glucose levels to prepare the body for an emergency. This response from the body suggests that the body knows how to protect itself and reach homeostasis. These two systems work together to either fight against the danger or flight away from the danger. Lord, King and Pfister in 1976 studied the Fight or Flight response in animals through a very unethical study. They administered chemicals on male hooded Wistar rats which inhibited the neurotransmitters from functioning normally. This made it very difficult for the rats to escape an electric shock.
