Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and Parenting
Boisterous , energetic , and spontaneous were once adjectives used to describe the behaviour of
normal, healthy children [CITE]. These days, similar behaviours might be labeled problematic ,
hyperactive , and uncontrollable , often resulting in the diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity
disorder (ADHD) and the prescription of a psychostimulant drug [CITE]. According to the DMS V,
ADHD is described as a combination of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity (American
Psychiatric Association, 2013). Due to the nature of the symptoms, ADHD can significantly hinder a
child s ability to succeed in a school setting, both academically and socially, which could have dire
implications for their future [CITE]. With almost 11% of children in the United States currently
diagnosed with the disorder, ADHD has been labeled an epidemic and this has lead to a significant
increase in the amount of research devoted to determining its cause and treatment [CITE]. The
increased attention has also attracted a great deal of controversy, with medical experts questioning the
safety of administering psychostimulant drugs to children. Although the evidence is often
contradictory, due to an increase in the documentation of the adverse side effects in children caused by
psychostimulant medication [CITE] as well as an increase in the evidence of nonpharmacological
treatments successfully reducing the symptoms of ADHD, many parents have become reluctant in
allowing their children to

One Thousand and One Nights Essay
Underlying Power One thousand and one nights, one thousand and one moral stories. The story of The
Thousand and One Nights is a unique tale that teaches simple morals throughout the many stories
within the main story. This tale is about a clever women that saves herself, as well as the women in her
kingdom, from being put to death by the king. She does this by marring the king and telling him
bedtime stories every night that lead into the next day. She would purposely not finish the story, to
leave him interested in the ending which eventually saves her life, and the women in her kingdom, day
after day. Not only does the main story have a lesson to be learned, but the mini stories also have
simple morals to be learned. The Tale of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This powerful vow would eventually wipe out the kingdom that he was ruling over. The wife never
would have imagined she had so much influence on one person. The king s wife s actions was the
cause of this vow that was made. The story of the demon and his wife also show the power of women.
The power illustrated here is the power that she has over two kings. She knew that they would be
afraid of the demon, and used their fear to her advantage. As said in the text:
Then she lay on her back, raised her legs, and said, Make love to me and satisfy need, or else I shall
wake the demon, and he will kill you. They replied, For God s sake, mistress, don t do this to us, for at
this moment we feel nothing but dismay and fear of this demon. Please, excuse us. She replied, You
must, and insisted, swearing, By God who created the heavens, if you don t do it, I shall wake my
husband the demon and ask him to kill you and throw you into the sea. As she persisted, they could no
longer resist and they made love to her, first the older brother, then the younger. (1574)
Unlike the other two women, Shahrazad, the vizier s daughter, used her womanly powers to save
instead of destroy or deceive. Even though her life was at stake, she put herself in the position to be
the heroine for the kingdom.

The Comfort Of Strangers Essay
The extract from Ian McEwan s novel The Comfort of Strangers tells the story of Robert and his
distant relationship with his family. Robert, the narrator, revisits the time that his parents left him and
his sisters home alone in his effort to see if his sisters did, in fact, hate him for telling on them. During
their parents absence, Robert followed his sisters into their parents room and watched them play dress
up with their mother s belongings. The extract follows a sequence of events: the first is dress up in the
early afternoon, then, clean up in the late afternoon, followed by dinner. In this extract, Ian McEwan
displays Robert s distant relationship with his sisters, father, and mother by demonstrating the
unreliability of appearances ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After an afternoon of playing in the empty house, Robert and his sisters sit down for dinner with their
father in which Robert notes, I glanced up and he looked straight through my eyes, deep into my mind,
(McEwan 21 22). McEwan uses hyperbole in describing how the father looked deep into [Robert s]
mind , with the use of intrusive language adding to the notion of the father having immense, almost
supernatural, power. Robert even refers to his father as God. McEwan demonstrates the father s power
by contrasting the verbs glanced and looked . The verb glanced represents a timid and quick action
which gives Robert less authority and power in this scene. On the other hand, looked represents a
more authoritative and attention demanding action performed by the father, which causes a shift of
tone and focus. The first part of the extract is all about the sisters, making Robert in some ways
invisible, but now with the father looking directly at Robert, it brings the attention of the narrative
away from Eva and Maria as Robert gets singled out for judgment. This change of focus creates a shift
from the fun and lighthearted tone earlier on when the sisters were playing dress up to a more serious
tone when introducing the father. After Robert s father looks deep into Robert s mind he asks, Tell me,
Robert, what have you been doing this afternoon, (McEwan 23). As one of the three points of dialogue
in the extract, the father s question creates a significant amount of distance between the children and
him due to the formality in his tone. The father s decision to single out Robert from his sisters in the
question serves not only to further isolate Robert but also display the father s wisdom and power. The
father s knowledge of Robert s naïveté that leads Robert to think

Throughout I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud William Wordsworth shows his relationship with nature
through his choice of diction, fantastic descriptions, and shifting mood of his poem. There are also
many words and phrases that Wordsworth included into his poem that shows how he feels about
nature. These phrases are well written, extremely descriptive, and show how Wordsworth is influenced
by the wild: I wandered lonely as a cloud , When all at once I saw a crowd, a host, of golden daffodils
, Continuous as the stars that shine and twinkle on the milky way, they stretched in never ending line
along the margin of a bay: ten thousand saw I at a glance, tossing their heads in sprightly dance , The
waves beside them danced; but they out did the sparkling waves in glee , I gazed and gazed but little
thought what wealth the show to me had brought , and For oft, when on my couch I lie in vacant or in
pensive mood, they flash upon that inward eye [...] and then my heart with pleasure fills, and dances
with the daffodils. Another phrase, which indicates that the flowers were so beautiful that no true poet
could be sad in their presence, also builds upon Wordsworth s relationship with nature. These
particular lines in I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud show how Wordsworth s mood shifts from somber
and lonely to joyous and content. The lines also show how the gorgeousness of nature sticks with

The Importance Of Writing And Writing Skills In The...
The English language has turned into the world s most widely used language. It is the principal
language for global communications in various fields including trade, industry, legislative issues, and
training. This is the main motivation behind why a large number of learners throughout the world are
endeavoring to enhance their English language capability. A basic segment of this capability is
enhancing one s ability for writing since this ability is absolutely essential for employment in recent
years. One vital factor to consider with writing competency is spelling as one single incorrectly
spelled word can change a word or the purpose of the entire sentence. Moreover, the weakness in
spelling significantly affects writing and reading abilities. In other words, the orthographic or spelling
learning is the driving force for productive reading and proficient writing. Good spelling information
is also critical for recognizing the words, which can enormously improve or obstruct reading skill.
Concerning writing, poor spelling can make writing a troublesome task by too much attention to
spelling. Poor spelling likewise confines the writer s selection of words, which contrarily affects
innovativeness and prompts short and incoherent parts in writing (Baluch and Shahidi, 1991). As a
rule, writing skill development for ESL students is mainly affected by the words, for example, spelling
and word recognition that rely upon comparable skills, to be specific, orthographic and

Adult Attachment Styles By Mary Ainsworth
Adult Attachment Styles The attachment style that an individual exhibits as an infant can affect their
adult romantic relationships. An attachment pattern is established in early childhood attachments and
continues to function as a working model for relationships in adulthood. This model of attachment
influences how each of us reacts to our needs and how we go about getting them met. The ability to
recognize one s attachment can help someone to understand their strengths and vulnerabilities in a
relationship. Psychologist, Mary Ainsworth, provided the most famous body of research offering
explanations of individual differences in attachment. She devised as assessment technique called the

As an adult people with dismissive avoidant attachment have the tendency to emotionally distance
themselves from their partner. They deny the importance of loved ones and detach easily from them.
They can shut down emotionally and are able to turn off their feelings. Preoccupied / Ambivalent
Attachment occurs because parents are inconsistently available to the child. This can result in a high
degree of attachment seeking behavior, mixed with angry feelings. As an adult, people tend to become
clingy and demanding toward their partner. Instead of feeling real love or trust toward their partner
they look to their partner for a sense of safety and security by clinging to their partner. They often feel
unsure of their partner s feelings and unsafe in their relationship. Unresolved / Disorganized
Attachment the child has an unusually high level of fear and might be disoriented, which can be
caused by a traumatic event such as a parent s death or abuse. A person with a fearful disorganized
attachment lives in an ambivalent state of being afraid of being both too close to or too distant from
others. They tend to be mixed up or unpredictable in their moods and experience emotional storms.

A witch hunt ensued during the following months from which Professor Tumin rather like Professor
Silk in The Human Stain emerged blameless but only after he had to provide a number of lengthy
depositions declaring himself innocent of the charge of hate speech.
A myriad of ironies, comical and grave, abounded, as Mel had first come to nationwide prominence
among sociologists, urban organizers, civil rights activists, and liberal politicians with the 1959
publication of his groundbreaking sociological study Desegregation: Resistance and Readiness, and
then, in 1967, with Social Stratification: The Forms and Functions of Inequality, which soon became a
standard sociological text. Moreover, before coming to Princeton, he had been director of the Mayor s
Commission on Race Relations, in Detroit. Upon his death, in 1995, the headline above his New York
Times obituary read MELVIN M. TUMIN, 75, SPECIALIST IN RACE RELATIONS.
But none of these credentials counted for much when the powers of the moment sought to take down
Professor Tumin from his high academic post for no reason at all, much as Professor Silk is taken
down in The Human Stain.

Relation Between Science and Religion Essay
on What is the Relation between Science and Religion
William Lane Craig
Examines several ways in which science and theology relate to each other.
Back in 1896 the president of Cornell University Andrew Dickson White published a book entitled A
History of the Warfare of Science with Theology in Christendom. Under White s influence, the
metaphor of warfare to describe the relations between science and the Christian faith became very
widespread during the first half of the 20th century. The culturally dominant view in the West even
among Christians came to be that science and Christianity are not allies in the search for truth, but
adversaries.
To illustrate, several years ago I had a debate with a philosopher of science at Simon Fraser ... Show

They were remarkably successful in pushing through their agenda. But philosophers of science during
the second half of the 20th century have come to realize that the idea of a warfare between science and
theology is a gross oversimplification. White s book is now regarded as something of a bad joke, a one
sided and distorted piece of propaganda.
Now some people acknowledge that science and religion should not be regarded as foes, but
nonetheless they do not think that they should be considered friends either. They say that science and
religion are mutually irrelevant, that they represent two non over lapping domains. Sometimes you
hear slogans like Science deals with facts and religion deals with faith. But this is a gross caricature of
both science and religion. As science probes the universe, she encounters problems and questions
which are philosophical in character and therefore cannot be resolved scientifically, but which can be
illuminated by a theological perspective. By the same token, it is simply false that religion makes no
factual claims about the world. The world religions make various and conflicting claims about the
origin and nature of the universe and humanity, and they cannot all be true. Science and religion are
thus like two circles which intersect or partially overlap. It is in the area of

The Impact Of The African-American Civil Rights Movement
In the American Civil War, enslaved African Americans fought for their freedom and in 1863, the
Emancipation Proclamation ended slavery. Following the war, most African American still suffered
racial segregation and discrimination for a long time. The fight against discrimination and segregation
resulted in the Civil Rights Movement, which took place between 1954 and 1968. The African
American Civil Rights movement, had changed the status of the black community forever and shaped
the American politics. The movement resulted in the addition of several federal laws and Supreme
Court cases. In the beginning of the 19th century, racial segregation laws were enforced in all public
facilities, from schools to parks, restrooms, public transportation and restaurants, known as the Jim
Crow laws. The laws called for separation of the black and white community, for instance black
students were only allowed to attend to black schools. African Americans were constantly reminded of
the laws with signs, such as Whites Only . Certainly, blacks were against the Jim Crow laws and were
ready to act. In 1890, Louisiana passed a law, which required separate rail cars for blacks and whites.
The law was challenged by a man, called Home Plessy and resulted in the Supreme Court case called
Plessy vs. Ferguson. The court established that the segregation was fair if it was equal. In the
following decade, civil rights activists worked to change the system. In 1909, the National Association

Persuasive Essay On Day Care
Parents are usually excited when they finally agree to send their child to day care. The first year of
child care is supposed to be joyful, eventful, and full of new experiences for both you and your child.
The problem that usually occur during the first year of child care is that your child seems to be sick
way too often. Parents spend most of their time calling out of work or trying to figure out who will be
taking care of their child at home. It might seem that your child has been sick for the entire school

My Education At San Francisco State University Essay
Figuring out what made you, you is a hard thing to accomplish, is it a mixture of your mother s
intuition and your father s stubbornness. Or is it the fact that you have his nose and her smile. Or is
that distant look in your eye you got from your grandmother. To include education into this age old
question brings up another. Who had the biggest impact on my life, the one who made me decide that
continuing my education was worth it. I would have to say it would have to be my father, a man who
believed he could make me into the child he wasn t. My Father Blake Christopher Thomas has had the
biggest impact on my life in both positive and negative ways, he is the reason I decided to continue
my education at San Francisco State University.
I am named after my father, a man whose deep hearted laughter could fill a room and whose stern
words and big smile filled my whole world. Standing at 6 5 he was, for lack of better words, my
skyscraper. Since a young age my father s worried, he worried if I would grow up to be a delinquent,
an imbecile, or my mother. The same his way his father raised him, he wanted to do the same for me,
with structure and family values.
For the first years of my life I went to a private school a place where my father knew I would succeed
a place where I would have gone on to the best of the best, consequently the best was 20,000 dollars a
year. In turn instead of private school, he gave me books, I cherished it, it allowed me to escape reality

Critically Examine the Claim That Free Will and...
Critically examine the claim that free will and determinism are incompatible
One of the main questions that we face is whether or not, we as humans have genuine freedom. Are
we free to make our own choices? Do we decide what happens in our lives in the future? Or are our
lives set pathways in which we have no say at all? Are all our choices already decided? In other
words, do we have free will or are our actions pre determined, or both? Hard determinists, libertarians
and soft determinists all set out to provide answers to these questions, holding different views on
whether or not free will and determinism are compatible. Both hard determinists and libertarians

Many believe that the world is largely determined but we can still act freely as our behaviour is not
predictable. Thomas Aquinas disagreed with hard determinism as he believed that man chooses freely,
not out of necessity . Although Aquinas and others that criticise hard determinism and disagree with
the hard determinist views, would still agree with hard determinists in that free will and determinism
are incompatible, but would argue that we have free will but our lives are not determined. This view
that free will and determinism are incompatible but it is free will that exists, not determinism, is also
supported by libertarians.
Libertarians believe that we are free and are morally responsible for our actions. They believe that the
inanimate world is mechanical and is therefore caused and predictable but reject the idea that this
extends to humans. Libertarians hold that we are not compelled to act by forces outside our moral
consciousness; moral actions instead come from the character and values of the agent. There are
factors which may influence someone to act in one way but it is not certain that they will. C.A.
Campbell s notion of freedom states that when you are acting freely, the future is genuinely open to
you and you can actually choose one way or another, even with given nature and nurture. Libertarians

How To Applying Generative Adversarial Networks To...
Applying Generative Adversarial Networks to 2D Animation
Introduction: Throughout its history, creating animated media has always been a balancing act, as
adding more individually drawn images, called frames, gives a better looking product but requires
more time and effort. Computer generated animation has further exacerbated this issue by
automatically creating frames between two key frames, i.e. frames that separate distinct actions or
scenes. The issue here is that the output appears too perfect when done this way, which makes it less
desirable than traditional hand drawn animation. Providing an automatic method to generate frames
with hand drawn quality will greatly benefit multiple industries and academia.

This will consist of 10 frame animation clips with a textual description of the scene, and this will
likely require work to be outsourced to Amazon Mechanical Turk (AMT).
On AMT, participants can be paid a small amount to watch the clip and provide short descriptions of
what they observed. Animated clips can be found on websites such as YouTube, and I expect that
having at least 6,000 total frames should provide a solid starting point. After checking the AMT
responses and the downloaded clips, the data set can be split sixty/forty into its initial training and
evaluation subsets.
While the data set is being assembled, I will begin designing the initial architecture for the

so that my model innovates on the current state of the art. I will implement this model in the

Research Paper On Pizza Box
Blake Truxillo
Mr. Fabacher
Chemistry
15 October 2017
Science Fair Research Paper In this project a pizza box will be used to make a solar oven. In the solar
oven there will be black paint. The black paint is to see if the oven will get hotter, then if there was not
any black paint in the box. He will put different amounts of black paint in the pizza boxes to see if he
can get the box to get hotter. He will also use foil to see if he can get the heat to stay in the box longer.
He figures that the more foil he puts in the pizza box then the less black paint he will have to put in the
pizza box. He figures that the foil will hold in the heat more than just a lot of black paint would.
He will put just black paint in one box. He also will put just foil in one box. He will see which one
will get hotter within a certain time period. He will then see if he makes one with black paint and foil,
if it will get hotter than the other one that got hotter. He will have to test the pizza boxes on a hot
sunny day. He will have to test all the pizza boxes on the same day in the same heat. How will he test
the pizza boxes? He will take all three of the different boxes and put them outside at the same time, on
the same day. He will then go outside and measure the temperature in the boxes at the same time. He
will then figure out if the black paint or the foil box was hotter. He will then see if the box with both
black paint and foil is hotter.
He thinks that due to heat liking dark things

The Era Of Andrew Jackson
Sedona Swanner History 1301 Mr. Spence November 10, 2015 The Era of Andrew Jackson Andrew
Jackson was the seventh president of the United States, elected in eighteen twenty eight. Prior to his
presidency Andrew Jackson was well known and favored for his success against the British in the war
of eighteen twelve. Upon election, Andrew Jackson became known as the people s president gaining
the majority of electoral votes over his opponent John quincy Adams.Throughout his presidency many
events occurred that would shape America as a nation. During his time as President Andrew Jackson
was both favored and hated by many individuals. His actions pleased certain groups of people, but
would also cause for a loss of support amongst Americans. Jackson s legacy would leave behind a
strong willed group of supporters, known as the Democrat party, and the creation of opposed
individuals known as the Whig party as well. His presidency would be viewed as time of
improvements to some, but to others who strongly opposed his presidency, it would be seen as a time
for unjust tariffs and conflict. Jackson s presidency would be characterized by key events such as the
Indian removal act, the nullification crisis, and the dispute known as the war against the bank, that
would alter the nation forever. One of the many acts put into place during Andrew Jackson s time as
president includes the highly controversial Indian Removal Act. The Indian removal act was signed

Technical And Administrative Vulnerabilities
Vulnerability
The United States critical infrastructures normally utilize both private and public networks. Public
network risks are well known; however, private networks can be just as vulnerable. Many people
believe they are safe by using private networks; however, the number of vulnerabilities is increasing
quickly. Despite the increasing risks, the United States critical infrastructures require a high level of
expertise in order to exploit due to their highly customized control systems.
There are two types of vulnerabilities we face at our company today, technical and administrative

Multiculturalism And The American Culture
Multiculturalism promotes cultural diversity and is supported by many educators in the United States.
Educators tend to favor multiculturalism because it seeks to understand and appreciate different
cultures. Multicultural education seeks to reduce social conflict between minority groups because it
allows the majority (Americans) to have a better understanding of the nations vast amounts of diverse
cultures. In relation to the English only laws, it sees the notion of multiculturalism as undermining
American traditions and history. They tend to favor cultural literacy, in which schools teach and
empathize American values in the educational system. Multiculturalism developed as a result of the
opposition to the melting pot regarding the American identity and the increasing amounts of
immigrants that arrived to the United States. In this concept, immigrants melt into the American
culture in which they renounce their pervious cultural identity in order to become true and loyal
Americans like language and cultural practices. As generations go by, many immigrants lose their
cultural traditions and adopt the American culture. The salad bowl theory on the other hand, regards
foreign cultures in a positive light. Various ethnic groups are tossed together in a way in which each
cultural group keep their own identity while co existing with one another to preserve their distinctive
cultural norms.

Legal Implications Of A Health And Disability Commissioner...
In New Zealand we have legal institutions who provide a foundation for which to regulate the
consumption and delivery of health services. These include Health and Disability Commissioner,
Human Rights Commission, Human Rights Review Tribunal and New Zealand Health Practitioners
Disciplinary Tribunal. Health and Disability Commissioner Act aims to encourage and defend the
rights of the consumers of health and disability services, and to effectively resolve the complaints
concerning the quality of health and disability services in New Zealand. This essay will aim explore
the functions of this method through explaining the legal implications of a Health and Disability
Commissioner (HDC) opinion. HDC case 13HDC01568 (2015) referring to an incident regarding a
registered nurse (RN C), who had failed to make an appropriate evaluation of the (Mrs A) when she
was presented in the clinic. RN C also failed to facilitate a safe handover of the patient to the
ambulance and failed in giving any assistance or monitoring of her condition while the ambulance was
on the way. The role of criminal and civil law in healthcare practices will also be discussed. The
Health and Disability Commissioner Act 1994 came into place by Judge Cartwright as a response to
the 1988 Cervical Cancer inquiry Report. The Act is a means to simplify protection of the rights of all
health and disability services as well as ensuring fair, efficient and swift resolution of complaints

Value Chain Analysis And Analysis Essay
Value Chain Analysis
Another point of view is to take a look at the value chain analysis which helps to identify the most
valuable activities of a firm. Wheelen, Hunger, Hoffman, Bamford (2014). In the case of Electrolux, it
would appear that they provide considerable value to the appliance market however; the struggle (as
previously mentioned) has been breaking into emerging markets in this case, China. With considerable
middle class growth in China, the standard of living is rising exponentially; therefore, a large number
of new households will be able to invest in appliances and other household products. The second point
in the value chain analysis begs the question of rarity or more succinctly, can resources be acquired by
one or limited organizations. Resources which are rare and valuable can provide a temporary
competitive advantage. Conversely, when more than a few companies posses the same resource or
utilize the same capability, this can lead to competitive parity. Wheelen et al (2014) Therefore, one
must ask several questions in order to find rare resources. For example; how many companies own a
resource or can perform capability in the same way as Electrolux? And, can a resource be easily
bought in the market by rival companies? In the case of Electrolux the rareness component is
nonexistent because other companies e.g., LG Electronics, Whirlpool and Haier already have a
stronghold in the global market with similar products. Furthermore, China has been known to

Controversial Topics- Beauty Pageants
Beauty Pageants: From Prim to Poisoned Her eyes glimmer with the latest layer of eyeliner. Her

William Pinsof, a clinical psychologist and president of the Family Institute at Northwestern

be a certain way. In girls particularly, this can unleash a whole complex of destructive self experiences
that can lead to eating disorders and all kinds of body distortions in terms of body image (Children).
Currently, 15% of young women in America have some type of eating disorder (Eating). Some grow
up with the idea that the thinner they are, the more attractive they are. This can lead to unfortunate
interpretations of their body. In order to fulfill their perception of the ideal figure, they dangerously
push boundaries; 50% of girls 8 to 10 years old say they are unhappy with their size, 40% of fourth
graders admit to previously being on a diet, and more than 50% of girls 9 to 15 years old have

Sonnet 29
Sonnet 29 1. In the introductory clause of the sonnet, the speaker makes it clear that he envies those
with hope. By this, the speaker means that he resents those who have a clear, bright future ahead of
them, a future made possible by the qualities he goes on to describe. These qualities are friendships,
skill in art, and power (lines 6 7), and the speaker makes it clear that he envies these people by
explicitly stating that he desires what they have. 2. The turn of the sonnet occurs in line 9. The
argument that this line is where the turn occurs is supported by the content of the sonnet both before
and after the line. For example, the subject of lines 1 8 is how the speaker is feeling self pity and
jealousy towards those who have what he does not. After line 9, the subject of the sonnet shifts to how
the speaker finds the thought of his lover to be uplifting and how it makes him feel like he has
everything. This drastic shift in both tone and in subject indicate that line 9 is where the turn of the
sonnet occurs. 3. After the turn, the speaker s diction and imagery indicates that the speaker s tone
shifts to an uplifted and content one. This is evidenced by the image of birdsong rising from sullen
earth , which makes the rising nature of the speaker s tone clear. In addition, the usage of the word
arising also suggests that the speaker s tone is uplifted. Finally, when the speaker says that he would

Corruption Is The Biggest Among The Challenges Essay
CHAPTER ONE
1.0 INTRODUCTION
Corruption is the biggest among the challenges in Nigeria. It is clear to every citizen of Nigeria that
the level of corruption in the country is high. Corruption, an ethical and moral problem which varies
from place to place, time to time, culture to culture and with the level of economic development; is a
global phenomenon that affects developed, developing and underdeveloped nations of the world. It is
a major societal problem in the 21st century (Aluko, 2008).
1.1 What is Corruption?
Corruption is dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power typically involving bribery
(Uzochukwu Mike on hubpages). Corruption is illegitimate use of power to benefit a private interest
(Morris, 1991). Corruption is the giving or taking of bribe by a person to cover up the truth. It also
involves the use of public funds for private use. Corruption most times also is an act considered as a
criminal act according to the law of that particular place. Corruption is a disease that destroys the
fabric of any nation.
1.2 CORRUPTION AND DEVELOPMENT
Most times, corruption impacts negatively on the development of any society. It involves the cutting
of corners in order to provide substandard services in the various sectors of a society which therefore
retards the growth in the respective sector such as economic sector, educational sector, medical sector,
industrial sectors and other sectors. It may have negative effects such as breeding of negative work
ethics, and

The Message in the Music Essay
The Message in the Music
Music means many different things to many different people. To a listener, a song is sometimes for
four simple minutes of entertainment, but sometimes it is much more. Sometimes, a song is a message
from the artist. This is much the same way from the opposite end of the spectrum. An artists message
can get so complex that it is completely lost on the listener.
This essay is about song analysis. I will be analyzing two songs performed by the same artist but
performed with two different bands. Although performed by different groups, the music is similar and
so is the message. The two bands being examined are Tool and A Perfect Circle. These are both
considered rock bands and work within the same industrial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The second verse contains the line, You told us you werent afraid to die. Well then, so long. This line
seems to be less criticizing than the first, but still is telling Jesus that after all this time of preaching
how much he would sacrifice, he is now going to have to live up to his promise or to die for it.
Another line in this verse is,Not all martyrs see divinity. But at least you tried. Here, the singer is
almost being sympathetic with Him, saying his cause was a valiant effort and claiming him to be a
martyr, someone who suffers for a cause or sacrifices his or her life for a great purpose. Although they
say that He wont reach the higher state of divinity, they still acknowledge his effort.
The third verse goes back to the original tone of the song by criticizing the Lord, this time by saying
that he blamed all things that were evil on other people. This is expressed though the line, Ranting and
pointing his finger. At everything but his heart. The part about his heart doesnt come off as an
emotional or spiritual metaphor, but rather a literal accusation that He never turned the blame on
Himself and always pointed His finger away.
It is in the forth verse when the artist turns from speaking about Jesus in a third person to the first
person. To me, this is more personal and angry than the first three verses. In these three lines, the artist
claims that Jesus had told him something, maybe

Military deployment is a significant risk condition entailing increased probability for maladjustment in
several critical life domains. In the research literature, there is a general lack of information on the

The research for female veterans following deployment in conflict climates is extremely limited (cite).
When looking at the literature of PTSD despite women being barred from some combat deployments

A Fundamental Advantage Of Ecs Adjustment For Effective...
A fundamental advantage of ECS adjustment for effective dynamic thermal storage is that it is
relatively easy to implement. Conventional air conditioning and thermostats are designed to perform
in slow control loops, on time scales of minutes. ECS adjustment can use time scale separation and
stay away from this effective dc loop action. In this sense, an ac feed forward signal is injected into a
drive to adjust power flow on fast time scales, while avoiding interference on slow time scales. The
average performance of the ECS system remains intact, and the fast adjustment is transparent to users.
Fig. 2 displays this implementation control. Bandpass filtered varying power must be applied with

A few recent papers [53] [56] have demonstrated a virtual synchronous machine (VSM) concept,
particularly for microgrid applications and usually for distributed generators utilizing the same ac dc
ac conversion stages. The same concept applied on flywheel based energy storage is discussed in [57].
Given the similarities existed in the MEA power grid and motor controlled thermal storage, it is
deemed feasible to implement the VSM concept in this research. A high level description is shown in
Fig. 3. For a synchronous machine in the rotating reference frame, the d q voltage and current
relationship is shown in (1a b), where vg is the grid voltage, R is the stator resistance, M is the
magnetizing, and Ld = Lq = L is assumed. On the other hand, the active front end (i.e., the hex bridge
converter connected to the gird) follows (2a b) in d q reference frame at ωc rotating speed, where Rg
and Lg are grid tied resistance and inductance, and vc is the output voltage at the converter controlled
by modulation index from the dc voltage bus []. The analogy between (1a b) and (2a b) is
straightforward. By equating the first three terms and varying the modulation indices, md and mq, the
active front end mimics the VSM proposed in [ZhongQC]. The purpose of the ac motor tied inverter
(i.e., the left hex bridge converter in Fig. 3) is to main a constant 270 V dc bus by adjusting the motor
speed and torque using conventional vector controls. Given the limited

The Occurrence of the 1905 Revolution and the Ineptitude of Tsar Nicholas II
The 1905 Revolution in Russia occurred because of a variety of long and short term causes, which led
to the Tsar to lose the support of his people. These causes comprised of the economic hardship in
Russia, the refusal of the government to broaden their representation, the military failure, and the
mishandling of the 1905 crisis, Bloody Sunday. However, the underlying factor in all of these causes
is the ineptitude of Tsar Nicholas II, as he held supreme autocratic power, and so would have been
able to avoid revolution by permitting reforms. Therefore, although there were many other issues
which provoked the idea of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Village councils, Zemstvas, were set up, and these were very successful; they organized transport of
food etc. The Zemstvas success offered a more attractive alternative to the government, which was
previously unthought of concept. The fact that people discovered an alternative to the Tsar s
government demonstrates the ineptitude of Nicholas II as he allowed the situation to escalate with
minimal interference, and his people gained power to help themselves out of poverty. The economic
problems therefore led to the politicization of the Russian people.
However, after giving the Russian people the power to help themselves through the famine, the Tsar s
government remained absolutely unwilling to compromise their position. The refusal of the
government to broaden their representation increased criticism of the Tsar, which could have been
avoided. The Zemstvas requested that they be consulted and allowed to express their views on matters,
but Nicholas refused to comply. Instead he relied on a system of repression to quiet the newly
politicized Russia. Protesters were harshly beaten by the police, and student protesters had their
Universities closed and many were forced to spend time in the army. In a bid to divert the blame, the
Tsar and his government attempted to encourage Russian people to blame the

The Apartheid Of The Vietnam War
In the year 1959, the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) protested the Vietnam War and other
injustices within America, and they only dissented peacefully. But from this came another
organization so radical that other radical liberals disowned them. The group stemmed from SDS and
many of their members originated in the peaceful movement; however, they grew tired of the
miniscule results of nonviolence. The association was ready to do more than hold up signs and hope
that someone would listen. They were prepared to destroy and they were prepared for people to get

In order to advocate for the end of the Vietnam War, SDS used forms of resistance that seemed to be
too radical for most other groups of the time. One action that set them apart from others was their
defiance of the government as they refused to be drafted for the war and on some occasions would
openly set fire to the letters. Some significant members of SDS, such as Bernardine Dohrn and John
Jacobs, wished to hold all of the leadership roles in the association. Attempting to differentiate
themselves from other sects of SDS, Jacobs wrote the Weatherman Paper and marked it with the
signatures of other members including Dohrn, Jeff Jones, Mark Rudd, Bill Ayers, Terry Robbins, Jim
Mellen, and Howie Machtinger. The paper did not address issues separately; it composed all concerns
into one global struggle of the oppressed versus the oppressors. After the election of the Weathermen
as the leaders of SDS, the group became a reality. While the focus of the Weathermen at the time was
ending America s destructive presence in Vietnam, they had other goals in the long run. Because of
their objective to end racism, the organization had hoped to bring in many African American members
and be able to fight with groups such as the Black Panthers; however, the group remained
predominantly white as almost no black Americans wanted to join. The Weathermen also aimed to
break gender stereotypes and sexism, and developed new rules surrounding monogamy. Every

Abstract This paper proposes a method for optimization of the harmonic performance of CHB inverter
under Selective Harmonic Elimination PWM modulation (SHEPWM) control. The proposed
optimization techniques are used to solve the set of non linear transcendental trigonometrical
equations. SHE were implemented to reduce the THD value. The set of non linear transcendental
equation is minimized by proposed Big Bang Big Crunch optimization technique. The proposed
topology is suitable for any number of levels. In this paper third, fifth, seventh and ninth level
harmonics have been eliminated. Simulation work is done in MATLAB software and experimental
results have been presented to validate the theory.
Keywords Cascaded Multilevel Inverter, selective harmonic elimination, Big Bang Big Crunch
Optimization Technique. Introduction
Multilevel inverters have ability to generate low switching frequency high quality output waveforms
with several high voltages and high power applications. The general structure of the multilevel
converter to synthesize a

Adam Smith And Karl Marx
In his book Born in Blood Fire, John Chasteen defines Progress as any transformation that made Latin
America similar to European and US models, resulting in human improvement. These transformations
included the application of advanced technology, new political aspects, and economic growth.
Neocolonialism was born from Progress, which can be explained as the influence foreign countries
had on Latin America s colonization. There was, however, different views on which way Progress
should be achieved Latin America. Adam Smith and Karl Marx are examples of the main two views.
Adam Smith, a Scottish Philosopher, was a critique of controlled markets and supported the idea that
consumers should be able to engage in a free market in order to achieve overall self profit. As a
believer in capitalism, Smith also viewed private property and overall self interest as positives.
Implementing these ideas without the interference of the government, Smith believed, led to unlimited
wealth and the most desirable economic outcome. Karl Marx, on the contrary, believed that poor
people suffered for the benefit of the higher social class. Co author of the famous document, The
Communist Manifesto, Marx supported communism, the abortion of distinguished social classes, and
developed into one of the widely known critics of capitalism; Marx believe that the idea of capitalism
gave an advantage to the people who were already rich and gave no opportunity for the working class
to rise socially or

Rhetorical Analysis Florence Kelley
Throughout the 1905 speech to the National American Woman Suffrage Association, Florence Kelley
uses many different rhetorical techniques in order to create an argument that allows the audience to
join her endeavors, Kelley does so by using appeals to pathos, logos, ethos, parallel structure, diction,
and rhetorical questions. Before the written speech even begins, there is a short, one paragraph
heading describing to the reader who Florence Kelley is. As said in the paragraph, Florence Kelley
was a United States social worker and reformer who fought successfully for child labor laws and
improved conditions for working women. In this, Kelley is described perfectly to any reader who
might not know who she is. With the information provided the reader and audience can go on with the
speech knowing that Kelley is a credible source on the topic of child labor laws. Kelley uses many
appeals to emotion to her audience, and thus, urging her audience to sympathize with the victims of
victims of the poor labor laws. Throughout her speech, Kelley uses repetition and imagery to establish
pathos. On lines 18, 25, 29, Kelley repeats while we sleep, for many rhetorical reasons. The line while
we sleep not only emphasizes, but amplifies, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lines 23 through 26 talks about a law in Alabama: In Alabama the law provides that a child under
sixteen years of age shall not work in a cotton mill at night longer than eight hours, and Alabama does
better in this respect than any other southern state. Line 32 quickly mentions to the audience that in the
state of Georgia there is no restriction on how long girls work at night. Lines 46 through 48 add one
change in a Pennsylvania law: In pennsylvania, until last May it was lawful for children, 13 years of
age, to work twelve hours at night. All of these laws provide facts for the audience to strengthen her

Erikson s Phychosocial Development In The Lion King
As a child, I can remember watching the Lion King movie several times because my family loved this
timeless movie. I always just thought of it as a story about the circle of life that we all hear so much
about in church and from our parents. However, for this assignment I chose to watch this movie once
more; giving particular attention to details and thoroughly examining Simba s life stage development
in relation to Erik Erikson s psychosocial stages and Jean Piaget s cognitive development stages.
Needless to say, I was able to find significant evidence relating to these developmental theorists. The
story not only displays the hardships of maturation, and the perplexities associated with growing, but
it also deals with the search for one s own identity and responsibility. To exemplify Erickson s
psychosocial theory which emphasizes the emergence of the self, the search for identity, the individual
s relationships with others, and the role of culture throughout life (page), I will begin with the opening
of the movie which shows Simba at the infancy stage where he is developing a trusting behavior from
his parents (Mufasa and Sarabi) and the Hornbill bird, Zazu, who is always reminding everyone to be
cautious and careful. His parents accomplished this by providing him a safe and comfortable living
environment and Sarabi made sure there was someone wiser (Zazu) to go with him when he wanted to
start exploring. Mufasa taught him how to make a living and other new activities,

The AIS
History speech AIS Today I will be speaking to you about the AIS or the Australian institute of sport
and how it influenced popular culture in Australia. First a brief introduction The AIS was founded on
the 26 Jan 1981 by Australia s Prime Minister at the time, Malcolm Fraser. The reason why Australia
felt the need to develop the sports program was because in the seventies Australia did not have a
strong national team of athletes. In the 1976 Montreal Olympics Australia finished 32nd overall. This
was a huge blow to a sports proud nation. The introduction of the AIS started to show results straight
away. During 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles Australia came 10th overall. This was a huge
improvement from the Montreal Olympics. The main focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The AIS has influenced the amount of people who participate in sport since 1981. The AIS started out
with only eight sports: soccer, track and field, weightlifting, tennis, swimming, netball, gymnastics
and basketball. Since then the AIS has joined with the ASC or the Australian sports commission. The
ASC looks over most sports. The AIS has promoted Australia s top athletes that they have developed.
This makes people more interested in spot. Firstly because since the introduction of the AIS the
Australian team has been very competitive and lest be honest who doesn t like to be on the winning
team and secondly people became aware that sport is an interesting activity that is everywhere. The
AIS has introduced top of the line training facility s to train specially selected athletes. For kids
watching professionals on TV or live they have seen where they started out. This helps kids set goals
of getting to the top of their game. This has also enhanced the level of skill in all sports because more
people are playing sports. The amount of people who watch sport The people in Australia put money
into sport. This is because of the Australian values witch the AIS helped enhance. The Australian love
of sport was enriched since the development of the

  • 2. Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and Parenting Boisterous , energetic , and spontaneous were once adjectives used to describe the behaviour of normal, healthy children [CITE]. These days, similar behaviours might be labeled problematic , hyperactive , and uncontrollable , often resulting in the diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and the prescription of a psychostimulant drug [CITE]. According to the DMS V, ADHD is described as a combination of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Due to the nature of the symptoms, ADHD can significantly hinder a child s ability to succeed in a school setting, both academically and socially, which could have dire implications for their future [CITE]. With almost 11% of children in the United States currently diagnosed with the disorder, ADHD has been labeled an epidemic and this has lead to a significant increase in the amount of research devoted to determining its cause and treatment [CITE]. The increased attention has also attracted a great deal of controversy, with medical experts questioning the safety of administering psychostimulant drugs to children. Although the evidence is often contradictory, due to an increase in the documentation of the adverse side effects in children caused by psychostimulant medication [CITE] as well as an increase in the evidence of nonpharmacological treatments successfully reducing the symptoms of ADHD, many parents have become reluctant in allowing their children to ... • 5. The Comfort Of Strangers Essay The extract from Ian McEwan s novel The Comfort of Strangers tells the story of Robert and his distant relationship with his family. Robert, the narrator, revisits the time that his parents left him and his sisters home alone in his effort to see if his sisters did, in fact, hate him for telling on them. During their parents absence, Robert followed his sisters into their parents room and watched them play dress up with their mother s belongings. The extract follows a sequence of events: the first is dress up in the early afternoon, then, clean up in the late afternoon, followed by dinner. After an afternoon of playing in the empty house, Robert and his sisters sit down for dinner with their father in which Robert notes, I glanced up and he looked straight through my eyes, deep into my mind, (McEwan 21 22). McEwan uses hyperbole in describing how the father looked deep into [Robert s] mind , with the use of intrusive language adding to the notion of the father having immense, almost supernatural, power. Robert even refers to his father as God. McEwan demonstrates the father s power by contrasting the verbs glanced and looked . The verb glanced represents a timid and quick action which gives Robert less authority and power in this scene. On the other hand, looked represents a more authoritative and attention demanding action performed by the father, which causes a shift of tone and focus. The first part of the extract is all about the sisters, making Robert in some ways invisible, but now with the father looking directly at Robert, it brings the attention of the narrative away from Eva and Maria as Robert gets singled out for judgment. This change of focus creates a shift from the fun and lighthearted tone earlier on when the sisters were playing dress up to a more serious tone when introducing the father. After Robert s father looks deep into Robert s mind he asks, Tell me, Robert, what have you been doing this afternoon, (McEwan 23). As one of the three points of dialogue in the extract, the father s question creates a significant amount of distance between the children and him due to the formality in his tone. The father s decision to single out Robert from his sisters in the question serves not only to further isolate Robert but also display the father s wisdom and power. The father s knowledge of Robert s naïveté that leads Robert to think ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Importance Of Writing And Writing Skills In The... The English language has turned into the world s most widely used language. It is the principal language for global communications in various fields including trade, industry, legislative issues, and training. This is the main motivation behind why a large number of learners throughout the world are endeavoring to enhance their English language capability. A basic segment of this capability is enhancing one s ability for writing since this ability is absolutely essential for employment in recent years. One vital factor to consider with writing competency is spelling as one single incorrectly spelled word can change a word or the purpose of the entire sentence. Moreover, the weakness in spelling significantly affects writing and reading abilities. In other words, the orthographic or spelling learning is the driving force for productive reading and proficient writing. Good spelling information is also critical for recognizing the words, which can enormously improve or obstruct reading skill. Concerning writing, poor spelling can make writing a troublesome task by too much attention to spelling. Poor spelling likewise confines the writer s selection of words, which contrarily affects innovativeness and prompts short and incoherent parts in writing (Baluch and Shahidi, 1991). As a rule, writing skill development for ESL students is mainly affected by the words, for example, spelling and word recognition that rely upon comparable skills, to be specific, orthographic and ... Back in 1896 the president of Cornell University Andrew Dickson White published a book entitled A History of the Warfare of Science with Theology in Christendom. Under White s influence, the metaphor of warfare to describe the relations between science and the Christian faith became very widespread during the first half of the 20th century. The culturally dominant view in the West even among Christians came to be that science and Christianity are not allies in the search for truth, but adversaries. But philosophers of science during the second half of the 20th century have come to realize that the idea of a warfare between science and theology is a gross oversimplification. White s book is now regarded as something of a bad joke, a one sided and distorted piece of propaganda. Now some people acknowledge that science and religion should not be regarded as foes, but nonetheless they do not think that they should be considered friends either. They say that science and religion are mutually irrelevant, that they represent two non over lapping domains. Sometimes you hear slogans like Science deals with facts and religion deals with faith. But this is a gross caricature of both science and religion. As science probes the universe, she encounters problems and questions which are philosophical in character and therefore cannot be resolved scientifically, but which can be illuminated by a theological perspective. By the same token, it is simply false that religion makes no factual claims about the world. The world religions make various and conflicting claims about the origin and nature of the universe and humanity, and they cannot all be true. The movement resulted in the addition of several federal laws and Supreme Court cases. In the beginning of the 19th century, racial segregation laws were enforced in all public facilities, from schools to parks, restrooms, public transportation and restaurants, known as the Jim Crow laws. The laws called for separation of the black and white community, for instance black students were only allowed to attend to black schools. African Americans were constantly reminded of the laws with signs, such as Whites Only . Certainly, blacks were against the Jim Crow laws and were ready to act. In 1890, Louisiana passed a law, which required separate rail cars for blacks and whites. The law was challenged by a man, called Home Plessy and resulted in the Supreme Court case called Plessy vs. Ferguson. The court established that the segregation was fair if it was equal. In other words, do we have free will or are our actions pre determined, or both? The Era Of Andrew Jackson Sedona Swanner History 1301 Mr. Spence November 10, 2015 The Era of Andrew Jackson Andrew Jackson was the seventh president of the United States, elected in eighteen twenty eight. Prior to his presidency Andrew Jackson was well known and favored for his success against the British in the war of eighteen twelve. Upon election, Andrew Jackson became known as the people s president gaining the majority of electoral votes over his opponent John quincy Adams.Throughout his presidency many events occurred that would shape America as a nation. During his time as President Andrew Jackson was both favored and hated by many individuals. His actions pleased certain groups of people, but would also cause for a loss of support amongst Americans. Jackson s legacy would leave behind a strong willed group of supporters, known as the Democrat party, and the creation of opposed individuals known as the Whig party as well. His presidency would be viewed as time of improvements to some, but to others who strongly opposed his presidency, it would be seen as a time for unjust tariffs and conflict. Jackson s presidency would be characterized by key events such as the Indian removal act, the nullification crisis, and the dispute known as the war against the bank, that would alter the nation forever. One of the many acts put into place during Andrew Jackson s time as president includes the highly controversial Indian Removal Act. • 24. Multiculturalism And The American Culture Multiculturalism promotes cultural diversity and is supported by many educators in the United States. Educators tend to favor multiculturalism because it seeks to understand and appreciate different cultures. Multicultural education seeks to reduce social conflict between minority groups because it allows the majority (Americans) to have a better understanding of the nations vast amounts of diverse cultures. In relation to the English only laws, it sees the notion of multiculturalism as undermining American traditions and history. They tend to favor cultural literacy, in which schools teach and empathize American values in the educational system. Multiculturalism developed as a result of the opposition to the melting pot regarding the American identity and the increasing amounts of immigrants that arrived to the United States. In this concept, immigrants melt into the American culture in which they renounce their pervious cultural identity in order to become true and loyal Americans like language and cultural practices. As generations go by, many immigrants lose their cultural traditions and adopt the American culture. The salad bowl theory on the other hand, regards foreign cultures in a positive light. Various ethnic groups are tossed together in a way in which each cultural group keep their own identity while co existing with one another to preserve their distinctive cultural norms. • 27. Value Chain Analysis And Analysis Essay Value Chain Analysis Another point of view is to take a look at the value chain analysis which helps to identify the most valuable activities of a firm. Wheelen, Hunger, Hoffman, Bamford (2014). In the case of Electrolux, it would appear that they provide considerable value to the appliance market however; the struggle (as previously mentioned) has been breaking into emerging markets in this case, China. With considerable middle class growth in China, the standard of living is rising exponentially; therefore, a large number of new households will be able to invest in appliances and other household products. The second point in the value chain analysis begs the question of rarity or more succinctly, can resources be acquired by one or limited organizations. Resources which are rare and valuable can provide a temporary competitive advantage. Conversely, when more than a few companies posses the same resource or utilize the same capability, this can lead to competitive parity. Wheelen et al (2014) Therefore, one must ask several questions in order to find rare resources. For example; how many companies own a resource or can perform capability in the same way as Electrolux? And, can a resource be easily bought in the market by rival companies? In the case of Electrolux the rareness component is nonexistent because other companies e.g., LG Electronics, Whirlpool and Haier already have a stronghold in the global market with similar products. Currently, 15% of young women in America have some type of eating disorder (Eating). Some grow up with the idea that the thinner they are, the more attractive they are. This can lead to unfortunate interpretations of their body. • 29. Sonnet 29 Sonnet 29 1. In the introductory clause of the sonnet, the speaker makes it clear that he envies those with hope. By this, the speaker means that he resents those who have a clear, bright future ahead of them, a future made possible by the qualities he goes on to describe. These qualities are friendships, skill in art, and power (lines 6 7), and the speaker makes it clear that he envies these people by explicitly stating that he desires what they have. 2. The turn of the sonnet occurs in line 9. The argument that this line is where the turn occurs is supported by the content of the sonnet both before and after the line. For example, the subject of lines 1 8 is how the speaker is feeling self pity and jealousy towards those who have what he does not. After line 9, the subject of the sonnet shifts to how the speaker finds the thought of his lover to be uplifting and how it makes him feel like he has everything. This drastic shift in both tone and in subject indicate that line 9 is where the turn of the sonnet occurs. 3. After the turn, the speaker s diction and imagery indicates that the speaker s tone shifts to an uplifted and content one. This is evidenced by the image of birdsong rising from sullen earth , which makes the rising nature of the speaker s tone clear. In addition, the usage of the word arising also suggests that the speaker s tone is uplifted. Finally, when the speaker says that he would scorn to change my state with kings , he ... Corruption, an ethical and moral problem which varies from place to place, time to time, culture to culture and with the level of economic development; is a global phenomenon that affects developed, developing and underdeveloped nations of the world. It is a major societal problem in the 21st century (Aluko, 2008). 1.1 What is Corruption? Corruption is dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power typically involving bribery (Uzochukwu Mike on hubpages). Corruption is illegitimate use of power to benefit a private interest (Morris, 1991). Corruption is the giving or taking of bribe by a person to cover up the truth. It also involves the use of public funds for private use. Corruption most times also is an act considered as a criminal act according to the law of that particular place. Corruption is a disease that destroys the fabric of any nation. 1.2 CORRUPTION AND DEVELOPMENT Most times, corruption impacts negatively on the development of any society. It involves the cutting of corners in order to provide substandard services in the various sectors of a society which therefore retards the growth in the respective sector such as economic sector, educational sector, medical sector, industrial sectors and other sectors. Another line in this verse is,Not all martyrs see divinity. But at least you tried. Here, the singer is almost being sympathetic with Him, saying his cause was a valiant effort and claiming him to be a martyr, someone who suffers for a cause or sacrifices his or her life for a great purpose. Although they say that He wont reach the higher state of divinity, they still acknowledge his effort. The third verse goes back to the original tone of the song by criticizing the Lord, this time by saying that he blamed all things that were evil on other people. This is expressed though the line, Ranting and pointing his finger. At everything but his heart. The part about his heart doesnt come off as an emotional or spiritual metaphor, but rather a literal accusation that He never turned the blame on Himself and always pointed His finger away. It is in the forth verse when the artist turns from speaking about Jesus in a third person to the first person. To me, this is more personal and angry than the first three verses. Conventional air conditioning and thermostats are designed to perform in slow control loops, on time scales of minutes. ECS adjustment can use time scale separation and stay away from this effective dc loop action. In this sense, an ac feed forward signal is injected into a drive to adjust power flow on fast time scales, while avoiding interference on slow time scales. The average performance of the ECS system remains intact, and the fast adjustment is transparent to users. Fig. 2 displays this implementation control. A few recent papers [53] [56] have demonstrated a virtual synchronous machine (VSM) concept, particularly for microgrid applications and usually for distributed generators utilizing the same ac dc ac conversion stages. The same concept applied on flywheel based energy storage is discussed in [57]. Given the similarities existed in the MEA power grid and motor controlled thermal storage, it is deemed feasible to implement the VSM concept in this research. A high level description is shown in Fig. 3. For a synchronous machine in the rotating reference frame, the d q voltage and current relationship is shown in (1a b), where vg is the grid voltage, R is the stator resistance, M is the magnetizing, and Ld = Lq = L is assumed. On the other hand, the active front end (i.e., the hex bridge converter connected to the gird) follows (2a b) in d q reference frame at ωc rotating speed, where Rg and Lg are grid tied resistance and inductance, and vc is the output voltage at the converter controlled by modulation index from the dc voltage bus []. The analogy between (1a b) and (2a b) is straightforward. By equating the first three terms and varying the modulation indices, md and mq, the active front end mimics the VSM proposed in [ZhongQC]. Mufasa taught him how to make a living and other new activities, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
