stated that the arctic apple and innate potatoes may not be release until several months or years. The
arctic apple has been developed by Okanagan Specialty Fruits and has been tested in Canada. The
benefit of the arctic apple is that it has reduced less brown spots when the apple has been slice or cut

The temperature affects most reactions and increases there rates unless the reaction uses an enzyme
that only is effective up to or down to a certain temperature. This change has this effect because it
increases collision rate and speed so more collisions with the correct reaction energy occur so more
successful collisions occur increasing the reaction rate. The pressure is an important factor in gas
reactions because the gas concentration is proportional to pressure. The use of a catalyst affect
reaction rate by lowering the reaction enthalpy making the proportion of successful collisions higher.
Surface area of reactants is a key variable because a higher surface area provides a higher chance of 2
reactants colliding and producing a successful reaction. Activation enthalpy: I just talked a lot about
activation enthalpy I will now explain what is meant by this. Activation enthalpy is the minimum
amount of kinetic energy required by a pair of colliding particles for a reaction to occur. it is the
amount of energy required for the particles of the reactants to break the bonds holding them

Brief Biography And Accomplishments Of Oprah Winfrey
Brief Biography and Accomplishments Oprah Winfrey is an icon and role model to men and women
all over the world. Many would find it difficult to pinpoint her greatest accomplishment as Oprah has
affected the lives of so many in catastrophic ways. However, Oprah wasn t someone who was simply
brought up on sums of money, she created her own luck and surpassed traumatic obstacles that
continued to sculpt her into the woman she is today. For Winfrey it all began when she was born in
1954 in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She had a less than traditional upbringing since her parents were
never married and drifted apart, leaving Oprah in the care of her grandmother. This is where she
learned to read and write and develop the speaking skills that she carried with her through her carrier.
As a child she developed these skills through poetry recitals and other public speaking events. Winfrey
s troubles began around the age of 9 when she started to act out. Her lack of parental supervision left
Winfrey extremely vulnerable as she sought attention elsewhere. Before the age of 10 Winfrey was
sexually abused by various men, including her teenage cousin and mother s boyfriend. Winfrey felt
ashamed and held this experience a secret with her for years to come. As Winfrey continued to act out
her mother shipped her off to live with her father in Tennessee. He was a strict disciplinary figure,
something Winfrey greatly lacked in her life, and it was this man who changed her life drastically. My

While studying the film Hector and The Search for Happiness, I grasped innumerable concepts of life.

Helicobacter Pylori Research Paper
Helicobacter Pylori at Tight Junctions
Prior to the isolation of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori} by Robin Warren and Barry Marshall in 1982,
it was theorized that peptic ulceration, an ailment first described in 1857 by William Brinton, stemmed
from poor diet, tobacco use, and stress due to the failure to definitively identify a causative agent as
well as the belief that the inhospitable environment within the human stomach resulted in its sterility
(Tanenbaum 2005). Because physicians were ignorant to the existence of H. pylori, individuals
suffering from peptic ulcerations underwent ineffective treatments for over a century. The successful
isolation of H. pylori and identification of its role in gastric diseases earned Warren and Marshall a
joint Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2005 (The Nobel Prize 2005). Despite the passage of
thirty two years, modern medicine has been unable to definitively eradicate H. pylori, but research
continues in hopes of developing a more permanent cure as well as effective methods of preventing
initial peptic ulceration, as occurrence is linked to an increased risk of developing gastric carcinomas.

Background: Sarah Blakely, the founder and owner of Spanx, was born February 27, 1971 in
Clearwater, Florida. As a daughter of a trial attorney and artist, Blakely originally planned to pursue a
career in law. Though, due to poor LSAT scores she opted for a job at Disney World. After Disney,
Blakely accepted a job at an office supply company Danka where she sold fax machines door to door.
For this job, she was required to wear pantyhose. While she liked the seamless undergarment with

First, persistence is essential for success. She demonstrated how often you will be turned away or
rejected when starting a business but it s important to keep going. There were many times she could
have decided it was too much work or too hard. But instead, she continue to promote her idea and kept
pursuing individuals to help her reach her goal. From reading about her success, it was clear she
worked extremely hard to get where she is today and it came from a lot persistence. The second lesson
I learned from Blakely is to believe in yourself. She didn t have any experience designing clothing or
manufacturing a product, but she believed in herself. She did the research into designing a patent,
contacted several manufacturing mills (even driving across state lines) and further promoted her
product in stores. Even though she didn t have any financial support or an established company behind
her, she believed in her product and her capabilities. The third lesson, it s not wrong to view your
competition. In the past, I might have thought it was a little cheating or considered sneaky to find the
flaws in your competitors products. But realistically, it s a very smart business move. She taught me

The Early Years/ The Birth of Populism Lázaro Cárdenas del Río (May 21, 1895 October 19, 1970)
was President of Mexico from 1934 to 1940. From Cárdenas plebian roots, in the lower middle class
he eked out a substantial, moving and largely successful leadership role in a reformative Mexico. Born
in the village of Jiquilpan, Michoacán, Cárdenas supported his widowed mother and seven younger
siblings from the age of sixteen. His many professional pursuits included a tax collector, a printer s

One of the first things that Cárdenas did after his successful campaign was to cut his own presidential

great popular support of many in the Mexican population who had been victim and seen the
destruction that this long held post revolutionary cronyism had upon their once hopeful nation.
(Knight 1990) Cárdenas also eradicated capital punishment, becoming one of the first nations in the
world to do so and certainly one of the first in North and South America. Cárdenas successful
presidency, elimination of much of the political cronyism as well as social policy changes also created
a reasonable end to the revolutionary skirmishes that were still taking place more than 20 years after
the beginning of the Mexican revolution in 1910. His partnership with the dominant political party,
PRI (Partido Revolucionario Institucional) helped end a substantial amount of violence and social
confusion, almost absent of revolutionary bloodshed. (Bantjes 1996, 62 64, 69, 96, 192) Cárdenas,

traditional armed guard, and armored cars, further

Haemolytic Anemia Research Paper
In my opinion, based on signs and symptoms this patient suffers from hemolytic anemia, characterized
by reduction in the number of circulating red blood cells, caused by accelerated destruction and
removal of these cells from the bloodstream before their normal lifespan is over. When blood cells die,
bone marrow produces more blood cells to replace them, however, in HA, the bone marrow does not
make red blood cells fast enough to meet the body s needs. Many diseases, conditions, and factors can
cause the body to destroy its red blood cells. This type of anemia can be inherited, where parents
passed the gen to the child (hemoglobin defects, enzyme defects, membrane defects) or acquired,
meaning it developed overtime (infectious diseases: hepatitis, streptococcus; medications such as
acetaminophen, antibiotics, ibuprofen, interferon alfa procainamide). In some cases, the cause of

Social Identity
There are multiple social identities a person holds such as race, sex, class and sexual orientation. In
each society there is typically a group within each of these categories that benefits from their
membership in that group, commonly referred to as the dominant group. Accordingly, there is a group,
or groups, that hurt from not being a part of the dominant group. While there are hundreds of cultures
and societies around the globe, many of the same groups consistently dominate within an identity. An
identity I have that falls under the privileged group within America is being white. The benefits I have
received from being apart of this social group have existed since I first entered school at the age of
four and I continue to benefit from them, under no fault or good behavior of my own. In a previous
Human Relations course I took, we discussed the difference in how dominant and subordinate groups
go about their day to day life. One of the major differences happens around the time a person enters
school. An easy way to generally know if you belong to a privileged group is to ask yourself if you
ever had to be taught about what it means to belong to that group. In other words, who has to be taught
what it means to be born into the body they were born into. As a white person growing up in middle
class, Midwestern America, I was never taught about what it means to be white. This alone is a
privilege because I have been able to live my entire life without ever being

Comparing Ballad Of A Solider Directed By Dziga Vertov
When comparing Ballad of a Solider directed by Grigoriy Chukhray with earlier works such as
Battleship Potemkin by director Sergei M. Eisenstein and Man with a Movie Camera directed by
Dziga Vertov, one should feel obligated to mention similarities in the story, theme, style and,
technique, as well as their differences. Their execution of ideas as well as their artistic imprint forever
changes how we view modern day cinema.
Battleship Potemkin follows a crew of a naval ship, which has been mistreated for the last time. The
crew mutinies against their superiors, sparking a revolution, which set in motion, unwanted
consequences. The effects of the crews rebellion cost innocent people their lives, Tsarist soldiers come

film, Man with a Movie Camera is partially a documentary and part artistic narrative; the film follows
a busy metropolis in the 1920s Soviet Union. Throughout the film Vertov showcases conventional
daily life in Russia, while a demanding city plays in the background. Vertov shows the audience what
goes into making a film.
The last film in the discussion is Ballad of a Soldier, follows a young man named Alyosha Skvortsov

Anselm s Existence of God Refuted Essay
Anselm s Existence of God Refuted
Anselm s Existence of God Refuted
If the only proofs for the existence of God were Aquinas s five ways and Anselm s ontological
argument, in my opinion, Anselm provides the best reasoning. I am not saying that Anselm s argument
is good, or even valid, but just that given the set of proofs by Aquinas and Anselm, Anselm s is better.
Anselm argues, in effect, that the existence of God is built into the very concept of God. He proceeds
by a form of argument called reductio ad absurdum reduction to absurdity. He attempts to show that
the position of the fool the non believer who has said in his heart, There is no God is incoherent and
leads to absurdity. (Cottingham, 1996: 246)
How does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, just because something exists in the understanding, we would not normally conclude that it
also exists in reality. As Anselm himself points out, a painter may have the completed work of art in
his mind, but that does not make it a real painting. (Cottingham, 1996: 246)
What Anselm tries to show next is that in this case, having an idea in the understanding requires one to
admit that the thing exists in reality as well. For suppose that God exists only in the understanding.
Then we can conceive of a greater being: one who exists in reality as well. Moreover, that would mean
that this God who exists only in the understanding is not the greatest conceivable being. (Cottingham,
1996: 246)
Now we have a contradiction.
Now come to the case of God. The GCB would have to be wise, because a wise being is greater than a
being that is not wise. In addition, the GCB would have to be just, because justice is better than
injustice. What Anselm is claiming is that the GCB must also exist, because a being that exists in
reality is greater than one that exists merely in the understanding. So:
It would be a contradiction to say; God (the GCB) is not wise
It would be a contradiction to say, God is not just.
In addition, it would be a contradiction to say, God does not exist.
There are many arguments as to why Anselm s argument is invalid. I have chosen three of them, and
have illustrated how these arguments make Anselm s

Analysis Of Judas The Iscariot
This paper is an investigation of the Judas the Iscariot. He left behind his entire life to live
nomadically with Jesus and the other eleven disciples. Judas is known to be the betrayer. He crafted a
plan for Judas to be arrested in exchange for 30 pieces of silver. The Gospel authors and most people
see Judas as the bad guys. But have we misinterpreted Judas? This paper will be a defense for Judas
they Isocratic. I will be examining the accounts of Judas and Messianic prophecy. I will specifically
look at a common argument against Judas, Judas friendship with Jesus, what the Gospel authors
explicitly declared to be Judas motives to be, and how patriotism could ve motivated Judas. Lastly, I
will make my final defense of Judas based on my evidence and analysis.
Background:
The Account of Judas In the New Testament Judas the Iscariot was a descendant of the ancient tribe of
Judas. Iscariot means Man of Kerioth, Man of The Cities, and City Slicker. Kerioth was a city north of
Hebron. Judas was the only apostle from Judea, while the rest were Galilean.

reasons. It was a natural preservative that was edible, it was often used for decorative purposes and it

desirable. It gave a new meaning to its usage and social gatherings. It is clear that tea, the tea custom

Causes And Effects Of Morale
4. OCCUPATIONAL LEVEL
The occupational level of the worker additionally impacts his level of morale. For instance, officials
are overall more fulfilled than chiefs; directors are more fulfilled than subordinates; and so forth.
5. EXPERIENCE
Morale tends to increase with increasing years of experience. But it may decrease after twenty years of
experience particularly among people who have not realized their job expectation.
MORALE
Morale is the capacity of a group s members to keep up faith in an establishment or objective,

How Does Mary Magdalene Play In The Da Vinci Code
Everyone loves conspiracies. And so did the readers, who scurried into bookstores to buy one of the
80 million copies of The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. Even though the novel is, of course, fictional,
Brown s claim from the start that all [descriptions] of the architecture, art, secret rituals, history, and
Gnostic gospels are true is provocative, and gives a sense of authority to the book s elaborate but
distorted theories. Many, including Christians, wonder how much they really know about Jesus and a
woman named Mary Magdalene. Although Mary Magdalene s role in the known Bible is relatively
short compared to other characters, Mary Magdalene plays a critical role in the book The Da Vinci
Code. Dan Brown s misinterpretation of historical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Nicaea Council was gathered to settle The Arian crisis in 318. Arius, a priest of Alexandria, taught
that Jesus Christ was not God, or any divine being, by suggesting that Jesus was not eternal, but a
human being created prior to other humans, therefore He was different in nature from God, and was
adopted by God. The concept of trinity was actually confirmed in the Bible. For example, the Gospels
of John repeats that Jesus is God and calls him Lord, a title reserved for Yahweh. In addition, Jesus s
divinity was established by pre Nicene church fathers, such as Ignatius of Antioch, Justin Martyr,
Tertullian and Origen. Nonetheless, Constantine held a meeting at Nicaea in 325 and invited around
318 bishops to resolve the dispute (Hangen). The result was nothing close to what Brown claims to be
a relatively close vote (Brown 204). Out of all the bishops, only two refused to sign the Nicene Creed
that recognized Jesus as the Son of God (Barnett). Brown s statement is absurd and clearly misleading.
His assertion that questions Jesus s divinity because of the close vote at the Council of Nicaea is
inconsistent with historical context.
Some might argue that some bishops were forced to sign the agreement. It is true that there were

Summary Of A Classroom Of One
The article A Classroom of One is a Community of Learners: Paradox, Artistic Pedagogical
Technologies, and the Invitational Online Classroom shines a light on how students in an online
classroom can experience the feeling of being in a traditional classroom. Online learners often feel
separated and alone and find themselves easily distracted without a traditional teacher in front of
them. To improve that problem the educators must develop an online curriculum that encourages
social interaction between the students and teachers causing them to build an online relationship. This
curricula must create and invitational classroom that prevents student isolation, lack of accountability,
and the perspective that the online learning environment

Book Review: The Culture of Fear: Why Americans are Afraid of the Wrong Things
The Culture of Fear originally published in 1999 but was updated and enlarged for its tenth
anniversary edition in 2010. The author is Barry Glassner a former sociology professor and executive
vice provost at the University of Southern California. He claims that many Americans concerns and
fears are largely unfounded; therefore, his book is focused on the question of why America happens to
be a nation where fear is highly captivated in most of our social media and seeks to find how and why
people become fearful to certain aspects of society. In his book Glassner also examines and exposes

Fever 1793 Compared To Modern Times
Time Period in Fever 1793 Compared to Modern Times Fever 1793 is a historical fiction novel written
by Laurie Halse Anderson that describes how Yellow Fever affected lives of everybody during the
three months of sickness and panic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Life today is more straightforward
than it was in 1793 because of the technology. Fever 1793 is a story about a young girl, Matilda Mattie
Cook, who faces challenges surviving in a Yellow Fever struck city (Philadelphia). Mattie loses her
grandfather on her journey of survival and her mother is nowhere to be seen, leaving Mattie to grow
up and survive her journey alone. If the story was taking place in modern times, Mattie and the rest of
Philadelphia would not struggle as much as they did in the story. The modern day technology that is
here today allows this generation to progress through life smoother. Today s technology would have a
significant, positive impact on the community during 1793. If the people of Philadelphia had the
knowledge of symptoms and treatments of Yellow Fever, they would have known for sure if the fever
was occurring in the beginning and they would have also known how the fever was to ... Show more

The proper treatment was to get bed rest and take it easy for a couple of days, but some, like Dr.
Benjamin Rush, thought the correct treatment was to drain out blood. Mattie s mother, Lucille, is an
unlucky victim of Yellow Fever. The text states, I flinched as the lancet flashed and blood from
Mothers arm poured into the basin. Dr. Kerr handed me a second basin when the first was full. The
incorrect treatment could have killed Matilda s mother, but it is lucky Lucille survived. The statistics
of the lives taken by Yellow Fever were over six thousand dead. If they had proper knowledge of
treatment as doctors do now, there would have been less casualties and more certainties of

Essay on The Transformation of a Dream Deferred by...
In Langston Hughes poem, A Dream Deferred, Hughes wonders what happens to a dream that does
not come true. He writes, Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode? In A Raisin in the
Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry, Walter shows that his deferred dream does both. Early in the play, he
shares his hopes and dreams for his family and their future with his young son, Travis. He imagines
that earning his fortune will cure all the shortcomings and injustices in their lives. The limitations of
Walter s aspirations for himself and his family undermine his ability to save his family. Walter s
acceptance of unjust systems, which makes one man master and another one servant, compromises the
power of Walter s dream. By showing that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Walter s behavior in this passage is self absorbed and childish, and Hansberry highlights the problems
in several ways. For example, Walter s trails off when he refers to a business transaction that his son
would not understand. This moment suggests that Walter does not really have interest in his young
son, who he claims to be helping. Hansberry has already shown in the play that young Travis may
understand quite a bit about business. After all, toward the start of the play, Travis urgently asks his
mother to give him the money he needs to make a donation to his class. Travis is well aware that
money can open doors and create advantages for people, and he is much more developed than his
father realizes. Similarly, Hansberry shows Walter s shallowness by removing any curiosity or
questions from his speech. Walter never asks Travis what his own dream might be. Instead, Walter
pushes a his dream down Travis s throat, and imagines that Travis will happily play the role that
Walter has cast him in. Additionally, the speech makes no reference to the possible downfalls of
pursuing money. Walter seems to forget Mama Younger s famous remark, when she reminds him that
freedom was everything. Of course,

Divorce and the Bible Essays
The law defines divorce as ¡§a legal dissolution of the marriage contract by a court or other body

Mark 10:1 12¡X ¡¥Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan.

and tested him by asking, ¡§Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?¡¨

I believe that Jesus brought up the examples of adultery to better illustrate his point.
If a couple decides to become divorced, they only decide to live apart. They are still married. Before
God, they are not allowed to remarry. Marrying, or engaging in sexual acts with, another while
married is considered adultery. Thus, doing these acts while living in separate homes is still adultery.
Matthew 5:31 32: ¡¥ ¡§It has been said, ¡¥Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of
divorce.¡¦ But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes
her to become and adulteress, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.¡¨¡¦
What exactly was Jesus saying here? It seems to be quite similar to the recollection of Mark, but with
an added twist. The married couple is still bound before God. Thus, the adultery aspect still stands
after the marriage. However, Jesus explains that divorce is only permissible in the case of adultery.
Does this act of divorce label her as an adulterer? Or, is he saying that a divorce is only considered a
divorce before God after adultery?
A loop hole is seemingly formed in this statement. A divorce is only considered a divorce of spirit
after an adultery¡Xmeaning it is the ultimate sin in a marriage. If one decides to become divorced for
other reasons, then it is not an

Many of these diseases are fatal and cause major damage to your body, if we don t limit our use of

One of multiple causes of anxiety and depression other than trauma, stress, genetics, etc, is actually

The type of radiation cell phones give off is called radio frequency (RF) radiation. This radiation can
go through your body and cause major damage to your tissues and cells. In fact, the World Health
Organization (WHO) even classified this type of radiation as a possible 2B carcinogen (Burrell).
There are also thousands of studies saying cell phones cause cancer, one study is the Interphone Study,
this study concluded that regular use of a cell phone by adults can significantly increase the risk of
gilomas by 40% with 1640 hours or more of use (Burrell). This equals out to about 30 minutes per day
for ten years. Another study done by the Hardell Research Group concluded that using cell phones
gives you an increased risk of developing gilomas or acoustic neuromas (Burrell). Another study done
in the UK in 2013 studied 790,000 women and found that women using cell phones at least 10 hours a
day are 2 1/2 times more likely to acquire an acoustic neuroma (Burrell). In the 1990s, at the
University of Washington, Professor Lai linked cell phone radiation exposure directly to single
stranded DNA breaks. This is important because, micronuclei proliferation indicates a type of DNA
damage strongly associated with cancer (Burrell). Not only can cell phones give you two different
types of deadly brain tumors, but it can also give you eye cancer, lymph node cancer, breast cancer,
thyroid cancer, stem cell cancer, leukemia, paratoid malignant tumors, cancer of the pituitary gland,
melanomas, and it can damage your DNA, which in turn can lead to cancer (Burrell). To conclude,
major damage can be done to your brain and whole body if too much time is spent

Picasso s Influence On A Rookie Baseball Player
There are very few things that appreciate with time. Many people love to bank on a rookie baseball
player, in hopes his card will be worth thousands. Many invest in land, praying they hit a gold mine
like land in Frisco or Prosper, Texas. One of these rare items is art. Art is a luxury, that many high
income people love to invest in. Pablo Picasso s art is some of the most if not the most prominent,
pieces of artwork in the world. Picasso was a trendsetter of sorts, helping start many movements
including introducing the idea of a collage in his later paintings. Picasso had a habit of drawing his
lovers in his paintings. For some of his mistresses, he created lots of art with them as the main subjects
of the paintings, as those were the stronger influences. Many of his paintings were centered around
one of his mistresses, Marie Therese Walter. Picasso met the 17 year old Walter while he was married
to his wife, Olga Khokhlova. Throughout their relationship, which spanned nine years, she was the
centerpiece of his work. Depending on the depiction of the subject, Picasso showed his emotion
toward Walter. The painting, Seated Woman of Walter by Picasso portrays a unique style, a powerful
use of colors, and a different view of Walter in comparison to paintings of his other mistresses.
One of the unique parts of the Seated Woman painting is the style that is presented by Picasso. Made
mainstream in the art world by Picasso and fellow artist Georges Braque, cubism is the

Cyber Espionage
ABSTRACT
The aim of this report is to examine the topic of cyber espionage. Incidents and threats of espionage
committed using software tools have become frequent headlines in news stories in recent years, thus
the existence of cyber espionage is undeniable. This report begins with an introduction of the topic,
followed by a literature review. Moving on, two case studies specifically involving the use of Trojans
and sniffers to commit espionage will be discussed. The scope of these case studies includes the attack
mechanisms used and the countermeasures that could plausibly be adopted, as well as a discussion of
each case. 1.0 INTRODUCTION Cyber espionage is the use of software tools to obtain secret or

An attacker can run malicious commands on an infected system to delete important files from the
victim system, or format the entire disk. Attackers can also infect systems with a Trojan and use it to
attack another pre defined third party system.
Some Trojans have inbuilt keylogging capabilities to record keystrokes made by the victim on the
infected system. These Trojans can be configured to automatically covertly email the log file
containing the recorded keystrokes to a pre defined email address. It is further possible to configure an
autodestruct feature in the Trojan, so that it automatically gets destroyed at a pre specified date, and
hence leaves few traces behind.
Such Trojans are capable of:
Stealing the contents of sensitive emails and documents
Recording passwords, credit card numbers, account information etc.
Stealing software programming code
2.3.2 Sniffers
Sniffers are recording softwares that record and store data packets being sent across a network.
Typically, sniffers can be used to capture, interpret and store data packets being sent across the
network. These captured data packets can be studied and analyzed to understand solve network
problems and keep track of network traffic. In espionage, sniffers are used to capture sensitive data
being sent across the target network. Common espionage threats associated with sniffers include:

Human Trafficking Is Today s Version Of Slavery
We Are People Human trafficking is today s version of slavery. Victims are forced into labor,
prostitution, and other exploitations. In 2007 three brothers conspired together to trafficked women
from Mexico to New York, Queens. The brothers threatened, assaulted, and psychologically coerced
the young women and minors into prostitution. These men were committed to sex trafficking that one
of the brothers, Victor Leonel Estrada Tepal, forced his wife, who was only seventeen at the time, into
their sex trafficking trade. The brothers did not tell the women the real truth of why they were taking
them to the United States. In January 2014 the three brothers were arrested and in 2015 they plead
guilty to sex trafficking through the use of force, fraud, and coercion of the young women. The
brothers are facing a minimum of fifteen years in prison to a life sentence in prison. According to HSI
Special Agent in Charge Hayes, These men preyed on innocent women, luring them into the United
States under false pretenses and then cruelly enslaving them to satisfy their own greed in a ruthless
prostitution scheme ( Justice News ). These men are only one example of human traffickers. Human
trafficking is a globally wide problem and countries are not working together to end this issue. Society
should focus on achieving international human rights and promote an internal standard of laws against
human trafficking. Although Utilitarians argue we should maximize happiness of the majority by

What Is The Broken Window Theory
James Q. Wilson and George Kelling in 1982 developed the idea of the Broken Windows Theory. The

disorder, serious crime will decrease. The types of disorders are explained in further depth. The first
type of disorder is physical disorder. Examples of physical disorder is but not limited to vacant

Describe the Basis of Feminist Criminology
The Basis Of Feminist Criminology Feminist criminology was created out of the realization that
criminology from its beginnings focused on the male criminal and the unlawful acts they committed.
When in the fact it could be argued female crime was studied as far back as 1800 s, female criminal
activity, its causes and the effects in which it placed on public opinion were often disregarded. Over
the past 20 years, there has been a significantly different approach in how females are being dealt with
inside the criminal justice system. This has been the result of a more broadening law enforcement

that this train of thought addresses the cause of criminal behavior in women because many viewpoints
that fall under the umbrella of feminism are given as different causes of criminal conduct in women

A Hunting Scene By Piere Di Cosimo
Often times, the artifacts of a society can tell us much about the values and beliefs of the people that
lived in it. The art and artifacts of a society must have been produced for having a significant role in
its culture and it s important that they demonstrate important characteristics of a society s culture to
the audience. By examining and comparing physical objects from different societies that depict similar
things or have similar function, we can often be able to reveal important features of each culture. Two
such pieces of art are the relief fragments from the wall of a tomb that belonged to an Egyptian official
named Khety, and a painting entitled A Hunting Scene by Italian Renaissance artist, Piere di Cosimo.
The most significant feature of these objects is that they both portray hunting scenes. The Egyptian
relief fragments also depict images of fishing and fowling. Many points of comparison exist between
these two pieces of art such as the perspectives they use to represent the ... Show more content on

The visual appearance of the people and animals in Cosimo s hunting scene shows close attention
detail to elements such as anatomy and shows an effort to represent the scene in the most lifelike way
possible. In Italian Renaissance culture, there was a push in the arts towards realism which was an
attempt to represent the subject as realistically and as truthfully as possible. Cosimo represents hunting
with the accuracy that was sought after in Renaissance art. Representation in ancient Egyptian art
reflected a different set of practices. While the Egyptians also attempted to capture their subjects as
realistically as possible, their view of reality was different than the reality accepted by Renaissance
artists. Khety s tomb fragments demonstrated how the Egyptians commonly used stoic and idealistic
postures when illustrating

The Use Of Intrauterine Devices ( Iud )
The use of intrauterine devices (IUD) by women is commonplace. Worldwide, IUDs are the most used
method of contraception, used by almost one fourth of all female contraceptive users. The typical
indication for IUDs is as a method of long acting reversible contraception. Intrauterine devices are
effective, safe, easy to insert and relatively inexpensive (Dean Goldberg, 2016). Therefore, in treating
women of childbearing years, the Nurse Practitioner will educate this patient population about the
risks and benefits of the IUD, as well as the risks and expected side effects. The NP can provide a
group of questions to the patient and mate to determine the appropriate choice of contraception. (See
table 1).
Prior to the consideration of the insertion of an IUD, the patient must have a negative pregnancy test,
and no active cervical, vaginal or bladder infections. The patient cannot have an untreated abnormal
PAP smear, active liver disease, breast cancer or an compromised immune system. Intrauterine devices
(IUD) are constructed from plastic in the United States (US). Worldwide, however, steel is also used.
Currently, the categories of IUDs in the US are: copper releasing, progesterone releasing or inert.
Except for the unmedicated type, the IUDs release either copper or progesterone in order to potentiate
the effectiveness of the intrauterine device. There are four types of IUDs available in the United
States. The copper IUD is named ParaGuard and is approved by the FDA for

There are two main strains of rice. Indica grains are long and thin and are fluffy when cooked. These
are more popular in northern
Europe. Japonica grains, popular in southern Europe, are shorter, more absorbent, and creamier when
cooked. Spain and Italy have increased their production of Indica rice, which has led to a decrease in
European rice imports.
There are three primary use categories for the rice industry: processed food production (such as
breakfast cereals), beer production, and direct food use. Branding of rice in the direct food use
category is important because most of the rice purchased in this category is consumed at home after
being purchased from food retailers. Direct food use rice can be subdivided into four primary rice
types: white, parboiled, brown, and precooked. White rice is the most popular retail rice in production
and is the result of the final milling process, which can be refined to varying degrees. The second most
popular retail rice is parboiled white rice. It is prepared through many steps including a special
milling, steam cooking, and drying process (there are over 40 steps in Gallo s parboiled rice process).
Brown rice is milled similarly to white rice, but the bran layer is retained on the rice kernel during the
milling process. In response to consumer demands for convenience, precooked rice is

How Does Jetblue Compare And Contrast Virgin Southwest And...
2. Competitive Environment
JetBlue has been recognized for offering cheap flights to business travelers, in the same way that other
airlines come up with similar offers for different types of travelers. In 2009, (case study) JetBlue was
on top of the list of the low cost carriers. The airline is classified as a major carrier, which means their
annual revenue starts at $1 billion, JetBlue has a $3 billion revenue, still and all it is mentioned that
JetBlue is smaller in comparison to other major airlines.
Over the years, one of the main competitors of jetBlue has been Southwest. In a 2009 report it was
mentioned that two other low cost airlines, Virgin America and SkyBus, were some of the biggest
competitors for jetBlue (case study); however, a 2013 analysis might have suggested in some way that
JetBlue was about to have new airlines to compete with, Singapore Airlines and Emirates Airlines, by
introducing new features and technological innovation in their offerings (Popova, 2013). Airlines are
implementing these improvements in order to attract more customers that look for comfort, but at the
same time affordability. It can increase the competitivity, but it is not noticeable immediately.
Even though, JetBlue is not directly competing with other international airlines, a comparison and
contrast with competitors such as Southwest and Virgin America can be seen in small, but important
details such as the baggage allowance. JetBlue has fare options in order to find out the amount of
baggages admitted, the first fare is called Blue Flex, and it allows to bring a maximum of two checked
bags under 50 pounds at no cost, a third bag would cost $100; the second one, the Blue Plus fare
allows only one bag under 50 pounds, a second bag has a cost of $35, and a third bag would cost
$100; the third and last fare is called Blue and the first checked bag under 50 pounds has a cost of $25,
the second bag $35 and a third or fourth bag would cost $100 (JetBlue, 2017).
On the other hand, Southwest doesn t have specific fares to decide bag allowance, they simply allow 2
checked bags per customer at no cost (Southwest, 2017). Also, Virgin America which is another
competitor of JetBlue has a fee of $25 per checked bag

Olaudah Equiano Biography
Olaudah Equiano, also known by the name of Gustavus Vassa which was given to him by his master
on a slave ship, was born in the Eboe province of Africa in 1775 1776. Eboe was a part of the
kingdom of Benin which is now present day Nigeria. Equiano, like many others, lived in a village and
was kidnapped and sold into slavery. From the chains of enslavement to the freedom in London, he
believed that he and his countrymen deserved freedom and equality. Religion would have a huge
impact on Equiano s life as he converted to Christianity after having many near death experiences on
his voyages around the world. He also used religion to argue his case against slavery as he became
involved in the abolitionist movement in London in the late 18th century. Later in life, Equiano would
begin writing his autobiography The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, or
Gustavus Vassa, the African, Written by Himself and was published in 1789. The book would relive
Equiano s life in Eboe, he and his sister s capture and enslavement, the Middle Passage and the
horrors of slavery, his travels, and work as an abolitionist.
Olaudah Equiano begins his autobiography by claiming that he is neither a saint, hero, or tyrant, but
instead is favored by Heaven, which he gives credit for the blessings he has received in his life.
Equiano also hopes that his autobiography will help his enslaved countrymen and other peoples of
African descent. His story begins in Eboe, present day Nigeria.

Persuasive Essay On Self Driving Car
Dreaming about the realistic probability of a self driving car is certainly fun to think about. However,
like all at is fun in America, the stuffy, tediously boring throngs of beaurocracy are here to ruin it.
Unfortunately, they are right. We do need some discipline. While Google and Apple dance about
filling our heads will idealistic visions of the future, we often forget the semantics of such an
endeavor.
GOOGLE AI CARS ARE MORE THAN JUST A CAR
According to U.S federal transport safety regulator, the AI of Google s self driving cars should be
more human. Human in the sense that they should be considered drivers. The reasoning behind this is
rooted in autonomous cars. If no one in the car is actually capable of driving it, then the car itself
should be considered to be the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One would think that not having access to controls of a self driving car is fairly frightening. The good
folks at Google seem to think the opposite. Their proposition is that given the option to drive, humans
will only interfere with the safety and interface of the car, thus causing a major risk to all passengers
involved. Current laws in place have a requirement of service brakes to be installed in every self
driving car. Google at the moment is looking into exemptions from this law as it contradicts their plan.
WILL APPLE JOIN THE RACE?
It s hard to mention any new technology without talking about Apple. Strangely enough, Apple has
been fairly quiet in regards to a self driving car. We know that Steve Jobs first had the idea of an Apple
Car back in 2008, but nothing fruitful has come of that idea. At least, so we think. There are rumors of
an Apple electric car coming out in 2019, although it will not be self driving. There s also the secret
lair SG5 that has the potential to produce some kind of automated car in the near future. Whether or
not they do, you can rest assured the Cupertino company will remain competitive in one way or

The temperature affects most reactions and increases there rates unless the reaction uses an enzyme that only is effective up to or down to a certain temperature. This change has this effect because it increases collision rate and speed so more collisions with the correct reaction energy occur so more successful collisions occur increasing the reaction rate. The pressure is an important factor in gas reactions because the gas concentration is proportional to pressure. The use of a catalyst affect reaction rate by lowering the reaction enthalpy making the proportion of successful collisions higher. Surface area of reactants is a key variable because a higher surface area provides a higher chance of 2 reactants colliding and producing a successful reaction. Activation enthalpy: I just talked a lot about activation enthalpy I will now explain what is meant by this. Activation enthalpy is the minimum amount of kinetic energy required by a pair of colliding particles for a reaction to occur. it is the amount of energy required for the particles of the reactants to break the bonds holding them ... Many would find it difficult to pinpoint her greatest accomplishment as Oprah has affected the lives of so many in catastrophic ways. However, Oprah wasn t someone who was simply brought up on sums of money, she created her own luck and surpassed traumatic obstacles that continued to sculpt her into the woman she is today. For Winfrey it all began when she was born in 1954 in Kosciusko, Mississippi. As a child she developed these skills through poetry recitals and other public speaking events. Winfrey s troubles began around the age of 9 when she started to act out. Her lack of parental supervision left Winfrey extremely vulnerable as she sought attention elsewhere. • 7. Helicobacter Pylori Research Paper Helicobacter Pylori at Tight Junctions Prior to the isolation of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori} by Robin Warren and Barry Marshall in 1982, it was theorized that peptic ulceration, an ailment first described in 1857 by William Brinton, stemmed from poor diet, tobacco use, and stress due to the failure to definitively identify a causative agent as well as the belief that the inhospitable environment within the human stomach resulted in its sterility (Tanenbaum 2005). Because physicians were ignorant to the existence of H. pylori, individuals suffering from peptic ulcerations underwent ineffective treatments for over a century. The successful isolation of H. pylori and identification of its role in gastric diseases earned Warren and Marshall a joint Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2005 (The Nobel Prize 2005). Despite the passage of thirty two years, modern medicine has been unable to definitively eradicate H. pylori, but research continues in hopes of developing a more permanent cure as well as effective methods of preventing initial peptic ulceration, as occurrence is linked to an increased risk of developing gastric carcinomas. As a daughter of a trial attorney and artist, Blakely originally planned to pursue a career in law. Though, due to poor LSAT scores she opted for a job at Disney World. She did the research into designing a patent, contacted several manufacturing mills (even driving across state lines) and further promoted her product in stores. Even though she didn t have any financial support or an established company behind her, she believed in her product and her capabilities. The third lesson, it s not wrong to view your competition. Haemolytic Anemia Research Paper In my opinion, based on signs and symptoms this patient suffers from hemolytic anemia, characterized by reduction in the number of circulating red blood cells, caused by accelerated destruction and removal of these cells from the bloodstream before their normal lifespan is over. Many diseases, conditions, and factors can cause the body to destroy its red blood cells. While there are hundreds of cultures and societies around the globe, many of the same groups consistently dominate within an identity. An identity I have that falls under the privileged group within America is being white. The benefits I have received from being apart of this social group have existed since I first entered school at the age of four and I continue to benefit from them, under no fault or good behavior of my own. In a previous Human Relations course I took, we discussed the difference in how dominant and subordinate groups go about their day to day life. One of the major differences happens around the time a person enters school. An easy way to generally know if you belong to a privileged group is to ask yourself if you ever had to be taught about what it means to belong to that group. Eisenstein and Man with a Movie Camera directed by Dziga Vertov, one should feel obligated to mention similarities in the story, theme, style and, technique, as well as their differences. Their execution of ideas as well as their artistic imprint forever changes how we view modern day cinema. Battleship Potemkin follows a crew of a naval ship, which has been mistreated for the last time. The crew mutinies against their superiors, sparking a revolution, which set in motion, unwanted consequences. The effects of the crews rebellion cost innocent people their lives, Tsarist soldiers come and slaughter the civilians, as they celebrate Potekims victory. The follow up film, Man with a Movie Camera is partially a documentary and part artistic narrative; the film follows a busy metropolis in the 1920s Soviet Union. Throughout the film Vertov showcases conventional daily life in Russia, while a demanding city plays in the background. Vertov shows the audience what goes into making a film. • 16. Anselm s Existence of God Refuted Essay Anselm s Existence of God Refuted Anselm s Existence of God Refuted If the only proofs for the existence of God were Aquinas s five ways and Anselm s ontological argument, in my opinion, Anselm provides the best reasoning. I am not saying that Anselm s argument is good, or even valid, but just that given the set of proofs by Aquinas and Anselm, Anselm s is better. Anselm argues, in effect, that the existence of God is built into the very concept of God. He proceeds by a form of argument called reductio ad absurdum reduction to absurdity. He attempts to show that the position of the fool the non believer who has said in his heart, There is no God is incoherent and leads to absurdity. (Cottingham, 1996: 246) How does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, just because something exists in the understanding, we would not normally conclude that it also exists in reality. As Anselm himself points out, a painter may have the completed work of art in his mind, but that does not make it a real painting. (Cottingham, 1996: 246) What Anselm tries to show next is that in this case, having an idea in the understanding requires one to admit that the thing exists in reality as well. For suppose that God exists only in the understanding. Then we can conceive of a greater being: one who exists in reality as well. Moreover, that would mean that this God who exists only in the understanding is not the greatest conceivable being. (Cottingham, 1996: 246) Now we have a contradiction. Now come to the case of God. The GCB would have to be wise, because a wise being is greater than a being that is not wise. In addition, the GCB would have to be just, because justice is better than injustice. What Anselm is claiming is that the GCB must also exist, because a being that exists in reality is greater than one that exists merely in the understanding. So: It would be a contradiction to say; God (the GCB) is not wise It would be a contradiction to say, God is not just. In addition, it would be a contradiction to say, God does not exist. I will specifically look at a common argument against Judas, Judas friendship with Jesus, what the Gospel authors explicitly declared to be Judas motives to be, and how patriotism could ve motivated Judas. And so did the readers, who scurried into bookstores to buy one of the 80 million copies of The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. Even though the novel is, of course, fictional, Brown s claim from the start that all [descriptions] of the architecture, art, secret rituals, history, and Gnostic gospels are true is provocative, and gives a sense of authority to the book s elaborate but distorted theories. Many, including Christians, wonder how much they really know about Jesus and a woman named Mary Magdalene. Arius, a priest of Alexandria, taught that Jesus Christ was not God, or any divine being, by suggesting that Jesus was not eternal, but a human being created prior to other humans, therefore He was different in nature from God, and was adopted by God. The concept of trinity was actually confirmed in the Bible. For example, the Gospels of John repeats that Jesus is God and calls him Lord, a title reserved for Yahweh. In addition, Jesus s divinity was established by pre Nicene church fathers, such as Ignatius of Antioch, Justin Martyr, Tertullian and Origen. Nonetheless, Constantine held a meeting at Nicaea in 325 and invited around 318 bishops to resolve the dispute (Hangen). The result was nothing close to what Brown claims to be a relatively close vote (Brown 204). Out of all the bishops, only two refused to sign the Nicene Creed that recognized Jesus as the Son of God (Barnett). Brown s statement is absurd and clearly misleading. His assertion that questions Jesus s divinity because of the close vote at the Council of Nicaea is inconsistent with historical context. Some might argue that some bishops were forced to sign the agreement. It is true that there were originally seventeen bishops opposed to the proposal, and the number reduced to two after Constantine threatened exile. However, even if seventeen, instead of two, were to be considered as the number originally opposed to Jesus s divinity, there would still be a vast majority supporting Jesus s divinity ... Fever 1793 Compared To Modern Times Time Period in Fever 1793 Compared to Modern Times Fever 1793 is a historical fiction novel written by Laurie Halse Anderson that describes how Yellow Fever affected lives of everybody during the three months of sickness and panic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Life today is more straightforward than it was in 1793 because of the technology. Fever 1793 is a story about a young girl, Matilda Mattie Cook, who faces challenges surviving in a Yellow Fever struck city (Philadelphia). He writes, Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode? In A Raisin in the Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry, Walter shows that his deferred dream does both. Early in the play, he shares his hopes and dreams for his family and their future with his young son, Travis. He imagines that earning his fortune will cure all the shortcomings and injustices in their lives. The limitations of Walter s aspirations for himself and his family undermine his ability to save his family. Walter s behavior in this passage is self absorbed and childish, and Hansberry highlights the problems in several ways. For example, Walter s trails off when he refers to a business transaction that his son would not understand. This moment suggests that Walter does not really have interest in his young son, who he claims to be helping. Hansberry has already shown in the play that young Travis may understand quite a bit about business. After all, toward the start of the play, Travis urgently asks his mother to give him the money he needs to make a donation to his class. Travis is well aware that money can open doors and create advantages for people, and he is much more developed than his father realizes. Similarly, Hansberry shows Walter s shallowness by removing any curiosity or questions from his speech. Walter never asks Travis what his own dream might be. Instead, Walter pushes a his dream down Travis s throat, and imagines that Travis will happily play the role that Walter has cast him in. Thus, doing these acts while living in separate homes is still adultery. We look up to people that we ve known for as long as we can remember, they are all that we know, all that we have. We don t truly start to see how much someone means to us until they re gone, my Aunt Belen was my best friend, she s flying high with my uncle right now, they both meant so much to me and taught me how to stay positive, to spread love, and to stay strong more anybody else has. Staying positive in the worst situations can and will make the world of a difference, my aunt was the happiest person I knew, no matter what she had to go through she always looked at every positive she could. My Aunt Belen had both of her legs amputated so she was in a wheelchair and had two other wheelchairs and an electric one. Competitive Environment JetBlue has been recognized for offering cheap flights to business travelers, in the same way that other airlines come up with similar offers for different types of travelers.
