Advantages And Disadvantages Of Ridesharing
Traffic jams has an optimal remedy as covoiturage (ride sharing) Introduction Carpooling or
ridesharing is a major process to avoid the congestion of vehicle in a particular place. This
process is nothing but sharing the car to travel more than one member on the same vehicle. Uber,
the transportation service has added this technique recently to manage the huge number of
utilizers. If we are using this ride sharing technique, we can reduce the each person s other
expenditure like fuel costs, tolls and pressure of driving. Domination of transportation Every
person has to move from one place to another place for a particular purpose. The people are
accessing the transportation vehicles for this purpose. If we are seeing this in the aspect of business,

The Impact Of Organizational Behavior On Sports Industry
An evaluation of how the study of Organizational Behavior in sports industry is relevant to me.
In football industry the importance of teamwork pays a huge role in future success. Without
balanced group it will be difficult to achieve goals but what is teamwork? There are several ways
to define teamwork but for some color why not think of it as the French do. The French language
has an excellent expression to describe it: esprit de corps. This means a sense of unity, of
enthusiasm for common interests and responsibilities, as developed among a group of persons
closely associated in a task, cause, enterprise, etc. Teamwork can be likened to two compounds,
almost essential to modern life. It s the glue which keeps a team together, a bond which promotes
strength, unity, reliability and support. Teamwork is also the oil that makes the team work. It can
enable smoother movement towards targets, can prolong forward momentum, and can help
teams to overcome obstacles. Teamwork has the potential to underpin so much of what is
valuable in work. In fact, the benefits to be gained from teamwork synergies are essential for the
effective management of resources. The value of teamwork is regularly seen in sports. How
often do we see teams made up of expensive star players outperformed by teams with players who
may be individually less talented? Assuming transfer price tags really are an indicator of talent!
The answer lies in two things. The synergistic value of teamwork (our glue and

Cirque Du Freak
People today love to hear about mythology, but usually bores readers because of its
unrealisticness. The Darren Shane Saga combines the real world and the vampire world in not
only a way that is interesting to the reader, but also realistic. The way that the series is put
together will not bring a reader to boredom because of the unexpected events that will take place,
therefore keeping the reader hooked to the series.
In most movies/books today the end can be expected from the beginning, but in this series the
events that take place cannot be expected which makes it a very interesting read. The series starts
off with The Cirque Du Freak (Book 1) with two friends named Darren and Steve. Darren is very

This is when Darren Shan really starts to leave readers mystified readers in the way that events
take place and how they take place. Darren and Larten must make a trip to a place called Vampire
Mountain ( white house of the vampire world ). When there the questioning of Larten s
decisions leads to the decision that Darren shall partake in the Trials of Death ( trials in which
vampire generals, something like congress, and vampire princes must take in order to gain their
positions ). Usually in a book the main character somehow miraculously avoids death in even the
hardest situations, but Darren Shan twists this standard definition of a story and makes it to
where Darren does survive but not without scars and burns and amputation almost. Darren is
forced to flee by one of his close friends Kurda Smahlt to avoid death but when fleeing from the
mountain Darren sees Kurda kill one of the fellow vampires, making Kurda a traitor to the clan. In
an ordinary book the character surpasses all the troubled situations and achieves success, but
Darren does not only lose respect from the vampires but also is on the brink of death from injuries

Irony In The Snowman
The beginning of the passage The Snowman it says, How did Max Vandenburg end in Liesel s
bed? He fell. (Zusak 311) Thus introducing the irony The Snowman brings. Many readers will
think, How did he fall? , What does it have to do with the snowman? The snowman makes his
first appearance in a handful of snow that was being taken downstairs as a weather report. The
basement was frigid as usual and with the added snow it would be easy acquire sickness. After
the first handful of frigid, wet snow made it down the stairs, an idea popped into Liesel s head.
She fills up buckets full of snow and takes them to the basement. First there is a snow fight, which
was cold and wet. Where each person withdrew snow from a bucket, made it into a ball, and

The Effects Of Housing Animals In Zoos
When people think of a zoo what pops into their minds? They probably imagine a fun,
educational place where kids can learn about happy little animals from watching them in
enclosures. What comes to mind when I think of a zoo, however, is the opposite. I picture
severely depressed and overly stressed animals trapped in cages too small to mimic their natural
environment. The effects of housing animals in zoos can be detrimental to the animal s health,
increasing the probability of stress induced diseases and stereotypic behavior, especially in Asian
and Africans elephants. Although wild animals are anything but free from disease or injury, it is a
more significant problem for them in captivity. According to Stephen Bostock, author of Zoos and
Animal Rights , the stress of being captured and transported can make an animal more liable to
serious, infection (67). He also mentions how the conditions in zoos can assist in the spread of
infections and parasites (67). In addition to this, animals can be exposed to disease they would not
normally face in the wild, diseases that they have no immunity built against. For example, primates
catch tuberculosis and measles from humans and Antarctic penguins often die from aspergillosis as
a result of not living in their natural aseptic environment (Bostock, 67). So even though zoo
animals may be healthier in ways such as less minor injuries, the gap between them and their wild
counterparts is not as big as people perceive. Elephants are

Beer Essay
Our trip to the Sierra Nevada brewery in Chico was very enjoyable. It is always nice to take a long
drive to see somewhere you haven t seen before and be able to see new places along the way. It s
only better when you get to do it with some enjoyable people and get to learn a few things about
something as interesting as the process of brewing beer. Over the short duration of our trip I ve a
acquired some funny stories that work by themselves but I m happy that I get to tell them all.
Though the drives may have been long and the gas expensive but I would definitely do it again.
Part of my story about the trip starts before I even arrive at school. A few minutes before I get to
the school I start hearing the flapping sound, I look and I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Later as I m driving I figure that the detour to Walmart must have put us far behind everyone else
and we were going to be the last ones there. I though it wouldn t have really mattered but then we
get a call that Nick, Joe, and I are going to be sharing a room with Logan and I m pretty sure that
was because we weren t there to protest. So our little detour did matter. It was a strange feeling
once we got all settled into the hotel room because after such a long drive we felt like were on the
road the entire day and the fact that it was already dark supported that feeling so when we got
settled into our room we felt like going to sleep but we realized that it was only about three o clock.
So of course we couldn t go to sleep then otherwise our sleep schedules would be completely
thrown off so we would just wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to go back to sleep.
So after spending a couple of hours in the room doing whatever we could to kill the time I
remember that I have a Buffalo Wild Wings gift card in my glove department that I ve had for
about a year. I figured that now would be as good of a time as any to use it and it would help us kill
some time. So my temporary roommates and I decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings even though
a couple of us didn t have any money to order anything. I decided to order a burger and a happy

St. Thomas Aquinas Arguments On Lawful Suicide
The topic of whether or not suicide is lawful is very popular among both ancient and modern
philosophers. Two of the most notable minds to opposing the issue include St. Thomas Aquinas and
Immanuel Kant. Both men come from different worlds separated by the centuries. Even though
they both oppose lawful suicide; they approach the topic in differing ways. I will analyze both of
their arguments, compare the similarities and differences, as well as provide my own though
which I find to be most agreeable. St. Thomas Aquinas is a widely renowned Christian
theologian and philosopher, as well as an important doctor of the Church. Because of his deeply
rooted Catholic faith, Aquinas reasoning is based heavily on Church doctrine and scripture.
However, he is also known for his study of Aristotle, whose more practical views he intertwines
with Christian teaching. For Aquinas, the idea of suicide is an obvious violation of Christian
doctrine as well as the worst possible offence against God. Aquinas argument against the idea of
lawful suicide is rooted in the rules within his definition of natural law. To Aquinas natural law is
based on practical reason of beings. This practical reason is conveys the notion that all beings
naturally seek good ends. We are naturally inclined to do good actions and avoid evil ones. His
view is influenced from Christian... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Immanuel Kant was born several centuries after Aquinas but he was aware of Aquinas position on
natural law. For Kant, the idea of natural law is also based three propositions. The first is the
notion that all natural law is obeyed from duty. It is important to know the Kant holds the view that
emotions ought not involved when dealing with proper moral or natural law. Desire and natural
inclinations are not the same for all people, and there for cannot be a judge of an actions moral

The Conquests and Legacy of Alexander the Great Essay
Alexander III of Macedon, more commonly known as Alexander the Great, is one of the most
legendary figures in our history and in the history of the world. His conquests and endeavors
echoed far and wide, bringing about new eras and ideas to the world. Alexander earned his place
in the world s history and is worthy of the title The Great because of his military prowess, his
idealism and his legacy.
During the course of his life and reign, Alexander had fought and won many battles and wars,
defeating many kings and warlords throughout the ancient world. Perhaps his most recognized
conquest was of the Achaemenid Empire of Persia and its King of Kings Darius III during the
Battle of Issus 1. After defeating the Persians at the Battle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

At a young age, Alexander believed his destiny was to exact revenge on the Persians for the
burning of Athens 7, but as his campaign became longer and longer, his ideals changed and his
vision for the new world came into existence. His vision for a united Macedonia, along with
conquered countries being absorbed into the empire, came with the prospect of global trade
routes, intermingling of the Persian and Macedonian cultures and people, and interracial
marriage between royalty of Persian and Macedonian empires 8. His vision was far more
ambitious than what the Macedonian leaders had sought after: he attempted to combine the two
greatest powers in the known world to create an even greater power 9. He was an idealist because
where his predecessors had aimed to keep the Macedonian race pure and rule all empires, including
the Persians; Alexander sought to include the massive Persian population into the empire, utilizing
their unique skills and culture, which would only benefit the kingdom as a whole 10. His many
attempts to integrate the Persian people into his own included using Persian soldiers in his ranks,
promoting interracial marriage, and even marrying 2 foreign princesses to better consolidate his
vast empire 11. While his many attempts ultimately failed and the fragile alliance between the
Persians and Macedonians fell apart, his

How Underfunded Public Pensions Be Around The Country Essay
There s a lot of discussion in the news about how underfunded many public pensions are around
the country. States like Alabama, Michigan, Illinois, and Arizona are in the news for high,
pension plan debt that are eating away city and state budgets. But, the public sector isn t alone in
underfunding pensions. Not all private pensions are the money in the bank that employees
think they are, in fact they are doing about the same as public pensions. Neither is 100 percent
funded. The result? A combined deficit in retirement plan savings of over $4 trillion for payees
between the ages of 25 and 64. A Quick History of Retirement: Then and Now In 1875, the first
private pension plan was created by the American Express Company. Because most employers
were not publically traded companies, they were rare. A series of revenue laws passed by
congress from 1921 1929 helped private pensions grow by safeguarding funds from federal
taxation and providing tax credits to employers who contribute to an employee pension plan.
Amazingly, private pension plans survived the stock market crash in October of 1929 with only
a three percent of workers losing their plans. In fact, a few of the private pension plans started
before 1929 are still active today U.S. Steel Company (1911) General Electric Co. (1912) American
Telephone and Telegraph Co. (AT T) (1913) Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. (1915) Eastman

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Summary
Summary
For this article there were no research questions, but the authors wanted to focus on the
pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of PCOS. They found that polycystic ovary syndrome
(PCOS) is common in women, with a10% prevalence in women of reproductive age. Polycystic
ovary syndrome is defined as ovarian dysfunction with polycystic ovaries. It also includes
androgen excess which is shown by testosterone levels being elevated. Increased levels of
testosterone can be seen through excess body hair. Obesity is seen in many women with PCOS, this
can lead to insulin resistance and Type II Diabetes. Genetics has an impact on polycystic ovary
syndrome with 20 40% of people with PCOS having first degree relatives with the syndrome.
The authors also found that PCOS can cause many long term side effects, including Type II
diabetes, cardiovascular disease, mood disorders, and malignancy. Type II diabetes is due to the
high prevalence of obesity leading to insulin resistance in PCOS. Women with PCOS are at higher
risks for cardiovascular diseases including increased levels of low density lipoproteins. Polycystic
ovary syndrome can also lead to anxiety, depression and binge eating. Women with obesity have a

The Rio Grande Valley, And Immigration
This research paper focuses on the Rio Grande Valley, and immigration. The purpose of this
research paper is to demonstrate that immigration to the Rio Grande valley has had a negative
impact. Effects immigration has on the Valley s economy, employment, and education are
discussed. The concepts of informal and underground economy by Richardson, C. and Pisani, M.
are covered to demonstrate the unique economy the Rio Grandehas. Poverty rates at a national and
local level are compared. Studies by Richardson, C. and Pagan, J. are used for their statistical
information regarding unemployment in the Rio Grande Valleyfrom the years 2000 until today.
Counterarguments regarding positive effects in the Rio Grande are considered. Conclusion reached
is that immigration in the Rio Grande Valley does have a negative effect, although it is needed, to a
certain point in employment and economy; however a positive impact has been experienced in
education.
How Mexico s Violence Affects the RGV Mexico is a country where the economy has been low

Rhetorical Analysis Of How To Be 100
It is quite interesting to know how long people live, and what is the average lifespan of a human
being. Dan Buettner longevity expert in his presentation How to Live to Be 100+ argues the
lifestyle from the world s longest lived people and provide a model for extending our longevity
through natural movement and purposeful living. He shows how we can compare our lifestyle to
those living in the Blue Zone s and what we can take away from their routines, diets, exercise and
other beliefs. In addition, it is important to look at our current lifestyle and habits, if we are living
in a way that is going to help us reach our potential maximum life span. With the right lifestyle,
there are chances that we may live up to a decade longer. I agree with the Blue Zones lifestyle. In

healthier system is to surround yourself with family members and good friends who you could
share your stories with them. Having a good, system of support not only enables peoples to help
each other, but also enables them to express their feelings, including happiness and sadness s and
other aspect of confidence. For example, when we are feeling bad everything in the world

Dworkin And Hartin Theory Of Law
In applying both Dworkin and Hart s theories of law, they come to very different conclusions in
regards to the case of Riggs v. Palmer. According to Dworkin s theory of law, judges do not
solely focus only on the rules, instead, they focus on seeking right answers. Dworkin has many
problems and disagreements with Hart s theory, one in particular is relating to what Dworkin
labels principles and policies . Dworkin defines a principle as a standard that is observed due to it
being a requirement of justice or fairness or some other dimension of morality(Dworkin, p.153
154). Policies, which go alongside principles, are standards in which a goal is set out to be reached
by the community (seen as improvements to life) (Dworkin, p.153).... Show more content on

Secondary rules are split into three different types: Rules of change (allow public/private powers
to fix old rules), adjudication (remedy for inefficiency, introduces courts and law enforcement),
and recognition (confers powers on people to identify law, and the unification of rules)
(MacAlister, 2017). Another important concept within Hart s theory of law is that he thinks
judges have to their discretion. Hart proposes the idea of open texture in law, which states that
at times, the law does not cover every situation that arises and that law may run out (MacAlister,
2017). Within this open texture, the is a clear core of certainty, where application of the law is
apparent, and beyond the core, is the penumbra, the uncertainty and indeterminacy in law in
which hard cases are based upon. As law branches out of this core of rules, it becomes more and
more indeterminate. Due to this indeterminacy, Hart believes that since there is no clear answer
written in the law, judges should have the discretion in dealing with hard cases. In the case of
Riggs, since the relevant rules of law were of central concern and not penumbral, the rules, as
could seen by Hart prior to his elaboration in his postscript, as clear, and the grandson should have
received the inheritance since it was a valid will. Dworkin used the case of Riggs to demonstrate
his concept of judges sought for the right

Munetaka was ordered by Yoshitsune to shoot the fan right square in the middle (420), but
Munetaka hesitated to accept the order saying, if I missed, we d never outlive the disgrace
(420). Not able to refuse the angered Yoshitsune, Munetaka preparing to shoot closed his eyes in
silent prayer saying, Let me hit the center of that fan! If I miss, I ll smash my bow and kill
myself I ll never show my face again (420). Munetaka knew that his failure would disgrace the
Genji and his suicide would be the only way of recompense. Heike also reveals that another way to
defeat your enemy and another way to be shamed by your enemy was through humiliation.
Kiyomori often humiliated his enemies. He exiled Naritsune, Yasuyori, and Shunkan to Kikai ga
shima, a faraway island, because they were conspiring against the Taira. Later, only Naritsune and
Yasuyori were pardoned but Shunkan was not. This was Kiyomori s revenge on Shunkan because
Kiyomori had given Shunkan his job and still had the nerve to betray him (290 291). Through exile,
Kiyomori shamed Naritsune, Yasuyori, and Shunkan by denying them the opportunity to commit
suicide but sentencing them to death by starvation. Insults were another way to shame your enemy.
Nakatsuma passive aggressively denies Munemori the chance to ride Konoshita, his horse, by

Analyzing the Point of View
Analyzing the Point of View One of the most important elements of a story is the point of view
that the story is told in. The point of view is critical to determining whether or not the narrator is
trustworthy. By analyzing the point of view in A Rose for Emily the reader can determine what
point of view the story is being told in, how the story will change if it s told from a different
viewpoint, and if the narrator is trustworthy. In the beginning of the story one can immediately see
that the story is being told in the third person objective point of view. When Miss Grierson died,
our whole town went to her funeral ... in at least ten years. (Faulkner 526) In the preceding quote
the reader can see that the story is being told from the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This makes it difficult for the reader to tell if what he or she is reading is accurate or not. If the
story is in first person the reader can get a more accurate description of what is taking place in
the story. In addition to the being able to determine whether or not the narrator trustworthy, one
can get an accurate statements about how characters are feeling in any situation. In the current
point of view the reader is limited to seeing the action in the story from the viewpoint of a
narrator is very broad with his statements. At first we were glad that Miss Emily would have an
interest, ... come to her (Faulkner 531). In this quote the reader can only get a broad statement
of how the group of people feel about Miss Emily rather than a specific character in general. If
the story is told in first person then the reader can see what one specific character is feeling
about Miss Emily instead of limiting it to a group of characters. Finally by analyzing the point of
view in A Rose for Emily the reader can determine whether or not the narrator is trustworthy or
not. After reading this story one can conclude that the narrator is not trustworthy for one particular
reason. The narrator is not a specific character but is a group of characters retelling the story. Since
it is a group of characters telling the story the reader is limited to seeing events

Summary Of The Poem After The War Poem
When faced with the countless problems of war including death, disease, sorrow, and loss,
soldiers develop and intense bond between one another as they seek support in one another. A
brotherhood is formed among these soldiers who rely on one another for protection and
companionship amid a time in their lives where they are faced with the constant threat of death and
violence everyday of their lives. But what happens to them after the war? In After the War, poet
brings awareness to how the war torn soldier attempts to reestablish their self in a society they have
been isolated from for so many years through use of free verse and repetitive phrases, which further
reinforces the theme throughout the poem.
Use of free verse in this poem creates a lack of structure that appears to parallel the soldier s own
lack of structure and direction in his own life after he leaves the war. The poem begins with the
image of a soldier s and his squadron raiding a farmhouse:
When he got to the farmhouse, he rifled through the cabinets, drawers, and cupboards, and his
buddies did too. The place was abandoned, or so he thought, and his buddies did too.
The first stanza connotes a slight sense structure as the phrase and his buddies did too is repeated
after stating each action the soldier does. Moreover, the lines themselves are structured in such a
way that suggests a deliberate organized form especially in comparison to how the rest of the poem
is written. Most interesting about the

Normative Context Of Advice
In Goldsmith and Fitch s 1997 article The Normative Context of Advice as Social Support the
dilemmas associated with giving, seeking, and taking advice are examined. The overarching goal
of this study is to analyze what the normative actions of support, specifically advice, are. The
research questions that were taken into consideration are as follows: what goals are pursued as
people ask for, and give, advice; what identity and relational implications of advice shape givers and
receivers reactions to advice; and what situational, conversational, and cultural constraints are
relevant to participants evaluation of advice? (Goldsmith Fitch, 1997) Multiple dilemmas were
found pertaining to advice including honesty versus support, caring vesrsus intrusive, and respect
versus autonomy. Each of these qualities are present in every interaction in which advice is given,
asked for, or received. As for the first pair of qualities, honesty and support, it manifests itself in the
situation. How the advice is taken is dependent on the present circumstances, rather than on
relational context. For example, if someone were to ask to be brutally honest, this does not
constitute perpetual honesty; instead, it allows a temporary period during which being... Show more

Furthermore, it would be great to break down the population into subgroups of males and females. I
think this could yield some interesting results because of the communication differences between
genders. Deborah Tannen makes some interesting points about this in her book You Just Don t
Understand. I believe that it is possible that women are more likely to take advice as caring than
men because they tend to focus on the cooperative aspect of a relationship, whereas men tend to
focus on the competitive aspect (Tannen, 1990). Then, the gender of the person receiving the
advice would impact the response to

Comparing and Contrasting Plato s The Republic and Thomas...
Thomas More and Plato create their ideal Utopia. A utopia is described as a perfect world.
Thomas Moore and Plato have different mentalities when it comes to the selection of an individual
s occupation. Thomas Moore focuses on a Utopia were the work force is strictly determined by the
society s needs while Plato believes that each individual should perform the task that best fits with
his or her natural ability.
Thomas Mores Utopia has more of a community sense. People are forced to believe that the
purpose for working is for the good of the public. No matter what a persons status or rank is, they
must learn the basics of Agriculture during their childhood. As mentioned by Thomas More, Every

13). Thought this is the case, if there is a greater necessity for agricultural products they are
obligated to return to work.
In Plato s Republic a person duty is determined by their natural ability. Unlike Thomas Mores
Utopia, Socrates believes that a person should focus on achieving the most for themselves rather
than the community being primary purpose. Plato s Republic greatly supports the idea of
inequality, and shows that social stratification is essential for the movement of the economy. For
a country to function, there must be some sort of hierarchy and inequality. In page 118 of the
republic Socrates states that he leaves it to each class to achieve the kind of happiness that
nature confers it (pg. 18). Citizens in each class must work hard to prosper in theirs own class.
People in the Republic must have the mentality of working hard for themselves. What they don t
realize is the domino effect that is triggered. As they work more, the classes above them are also
greatly impacted because they are able to benefit. Social Stratification is valued in Socrates to a
certain extend. Socrates mentions the importance of each member in each class to be apart of
neither wealth nor poverty. In Plato s republic, the importance of not being rich and not being poor
is greatly expressed. Socrates gives Adeimantus the example of the craftsman.

The Use of Characters in A Man For All Seasons by Robert Bolt
The Use of Characters in A Man For All Seasons by Robert Bolt
In Robert Bolt s A Man For All Seasons , there is a significant key to the use of characters. Bolt
uses the characters in this play very well and in an unique fashion. Bolt has the character the
common man, who takes the roles as many other characters. This is what makes this play special in
its own way. Bolt uses the common man as other characters which makes the reader really think. He
uses the common man as the narrator, servant, publican or innkeeper, boatman, foreman of the jury,
and the executioner. The common man is used in this play as a symbol of just common everyday
people with common jobs. These people are not of high class just common people. The common ...

This is precisely More s tactic, too (Bryfonski,Harris 90). The publicans pub is where Cromwell
and Rich plot their conspiracy on More. Cromwell tells Rich of his deviant plan but, Rich
wanted no part. Cromwell grabbed Rich, sits him down and gives him a proposition that Rich
would not refuse. This is where Rich betrays More. The common man as the role of the boatman
is important where as this is the point in the play that it is unhealthy to know More. When More
is out late trying to get home, he calls for a lone boatman also on his way home. The boatman is
off duty but, is willing to take More home because he believes More will make it worth his while
(Bolt 25). More says that there are fixed rates and he will pay what he always does. The whole
way the boatman would not give up. He hassled More about the rate but, More did not budge. The
boatman is just a common man trying to earn some fast cash. As foreman of the jury, this common
man has more power than any one person should have. The foreman of the jury has the final say to
convict Sir Thomas More of treason. With the jury being poles with hats on them and the foreman
of the jury being told what to say, More has no chance of getting out of these counterfeit charges.
The foreman of the jury sentences More to execution without a second thought. Even though More
is a honest man and sticks to what he believes in, this is Bolt s way of asserting that even under the
greatest of pressures man can exist

Why We Shouldn T Go To Mars Essay

America has ventured forth into space for the same reasons. George W. Bush said. Although a

In the text, Why We Shouldn t Go To Mars by Gregg Easterbrook, it states, If new launch systems
could put weight into orbit affordably, and if advanced propulsion could speed up that long, slow
transit to Mars, then the dream of stepping onto the Red Planet might become reality. Mars will
still be there when the technology is ready. (973) This articulates that humans do not have enough
technology right now to study space and scientists should spend some time researching on what
technology is best instead of rushing and finding technology to study space immediately.
Likewise, Mars is not going to disappear if researchers spend the time to gather information that is
beneficial. By researching, one can have a better idea of what Mars would be like when astronauts
explore it in the future. On the contrary, those in favor of space exploration may say that if scientists
take the time to collect information about space, the Earth will overpopulate even before astronauts
have the time to explore Mars. However, if researchers try to explore Mars right now, it would not
be successful due to the fact that humans do not have the necessary technology that is needed to
fulfill this intention. All in all, for humans to inhabit Mars, technology will have to be more
advanced to reach this

Primal Water Roman Culture
Many cultures have myths as to how mankind were created, and how their destruction came about,
which led to a more pious and religious humankind being created. The use of water plays a major
role in the creation and destruction myth in both Roman cultures, and Christianity, which share
many similarities and some differences. The use of water in creation and destruction myths
demonstrates that primal water is a significant force towards both the creation and renewal of
mankind, to a race better accepted by the gods. This is particularly true to the Roman culture were

This is a comparison to how rain and water is required on earth for things to grow. Similar to
plants, people sprouted from the ground and were nourished by water. In addition, water in
nature is seen as a destructive force, floods, hurricanes, torrential downpour, and the open ocean
can lead to the destruction of towns, crops, ships, and people. After the destruction, the
rejuvenation of the land occurs and thus the ability to create and grow new things. Another
reason why rain might have been used as a force of obliteration instead of fire, is because in
Roman mythology fire is the apocalyptic force that will end the world, and all its people for

Introduction
The Games of Thrones is a 1st book in A song of Ice and Fire . It is a fantastic adaptation of
George R.R. Martin. The story of The Games of Thrones is original , multi layered with lots of
sub plots, and is non formulaic. It is incredibly exciting ,joyful, suspenseful ,mysterious, and very
unpredictable and there is no way for you to know what is going to happen in this novel. The
story is also very violent . The characters are well developed and enjoyable whereas some
characters are even clever and secretive. Unlike most fantasy books, Martin s characters are not
totally good or evil. His characters are also very personable so we can think of them as real
people and can develop strong emotions towards them throughout the novel. Many of the
characters in the novel The Games of Thrones are killed off and new ones appear throughout the
novel. The title sequence consists of a three dimensional map of the world, which includes the
continents of Westeros and Essos, located on the inner surface of a sphere. At the center of the

done by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). However, other factors can impact the minimum
wage. Wageand hour laws can differ from state to state and even city to city. A vote to create a
living wage has been a popular idea in many cities. $7.25 per hour is the federal minimum wage
currently. Employees who work more than forty hours a week get paid overtime. FLSA standards
require overtime pay to be one and a half times the regular pay rate. In 2016 the Department... Show

In 1990 the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) came into law. This law protects people
with disabilities by preventing discrimination in all aspects of public life. The Americans with
disabilities Act allows people with disabilities to have the same opportunities and rights as
everyone else. The ADA gives Americans with disabilities employment rights just as any other
employee would. Discrimination regarding hiring, firing, pay, and other aspects of employment
are prohibited. Harassment of disabled employees is also illegal. Employers must also provide
accommodations to the employee. An accommodation would be a change in the work
enviroment so that the disabled employee can perform his or her job duties properly. For
example, an employer making his workplace wheelchair accessible for his employee in a
wheelchair. However, employers do not have to provide accommodations to employees if it
causes too much hardship upon the employer. This would occur if the accommodation is too
expensive or difficult to get done. People fall under the category of disability by three main ways:
If the person has a physical or mental condition that affects life activates, if the person the person
has a history of a condition or a condition that is not transitory. The ADA also limits employer s

which measure , beta or standard deviation , is more helpful when analyzing stocks that are to be
placed in a portfolio? A beta tells us howmuch systemetic risk a particular asset has relative to an
average asset. By deficition an average asset has a beta of 1.0 relative to itself. Assets with
larger betas have a greater systemetic risks, therefore greater expected returns. The standard
deviation is a measure of a portfolio s total or stand alone risk. The larger the standard deviation ,
the higher the propablity that actual realized returns will fall far below the expected return.
Standard devaition is a measure of total risk ,whereas beta is a measure of systemetic risk. In a
portfolio theory beta is the relevet measure because with proper diversification all systemetic risk
can be removed . therefore investors are not compensated for taking unsystemetic or diversiable
risk. Question 6 Referring to your solutions to the questions above, discuss how beta and standard
deviation(volatility) are different. In addition, explain how systematic risk and unsystematic risk
are different and how each risk is dealt with in the capital markets. Beta compares an asset with
every other asset in a market index, and measures only systematic risk, which is

Enron and Parmalat
Managua, Nicaragua
Sept 28th, 2013
ENRON
Background
In 1985 Kenneth Lay merged his company, Houston Natural Gas, with Nebraska s InterNorth to
create the Enron; a company to be the biggest natural gass corporation to exist in the U.S. During
the 1980 s, under the presidency of Ronald Raegan, there was a considerable lack of regulations
regarding the energy markets, thus allowing the company to buy and sell contracts for a delivery at
some time in the future.
By 1990 Jeffery Skilling joined as a former consultant, eventually to become Enron s COO (Chief
Operating Officer). His participation encouraged the incentive of making the company more
focused for contracts for delivery of energy as well as change accounting procedures to ... Show

Parmalat s strategy at this point relied on building a network of off shore mail box companies so
that the company could conceal the losses, being the largest bond players Bank of America, J.P.
Morgan and Citicorp. Basically these banks had the notion that these bonds were sound financial
paper where in fact they were absolutely nothing. (Claudio Celani, 2004)
Claudio Celani suggests in his article that what strikes one is not only the dimension of the
scheme, but the arrogance of its authors. For instance, one of the offshore mail box firms used to
channel the liquidity coming from the bond sales was called Bucanero, which means black hole !
Appropriately, the first class action suit in the United States on the Parmalat case, filed by the
South Alaskan miners Pension Fund, is against Parmalat, its auditors, Bank of America, and
Citicorp and focuses on Bucanero It was later found out in 2003 that the company concealed a
sum of $14 bn black hole , as Celani suggests, in its finances. (Claudio Celani, 2004)
For the next years to come there was a marathon of court cases on both continents (American and
European), and so it was discovered that nearly €4bn of funds in a Bank of America account did
not exist. Though the firm admitted to have a certain amount of debts it was later seen in 2004 that
it had in fact about €14.3bn (actually being 4 times the amount suggested). In turn , by 2008

Critique Of American Capitalism And Capitalism
Capitalism is not a rigid, inflexible economic and political system there are many forms of
capitalism around the world. It is illustrated as being different variations of capitalism outside the
United States; there is the Dutch version, the French version, the British version, as well as the
American version. American capitalismimplements free market ideology and that makes the U.S.
stand out among other nations. Other nations do not dwell on privatization and deregulation nearly
as much as the U.S., which is both a major strength and critique of American capitalism. One
critique of American capitalism is the Five Internal Contradiction of Capitalism. These
contradictions include inevitable growth of monopolies, demand labor saving technology and
policies, issues of over and under production, increases in economic inequality, and convergence of
economic and political power. This economic system creates detrimental social issues among the
population. With economic policy being in the best interest of big corporations, the wealth
accumulates and stays at the top. The bottom income group suffers the most as there is less wealth
available for them and they are forced to endure strive and pain just to survive another day. In the
example of The Myth of the WelfareQueen, two Philadelphia welfare mothers reveal to the world
their personal hardships and the extent to which they will go to support their families. The
increasing rate of class inequality created by American

Massachusetts Estate Abatement
When an executor realizes the estate lacks the assets to meet estate obligations, including bequests,
an abatement process occurs. The abatement process allows for the distribution of limited assets
which results in reducing or eliminating bequests to beneficiaries. Basically, abatement
involuntarily reduces or eliminates a beneficiary s share of an estateto allow for payment of some
obligations.
Initially, to determine the need for abatement, the executor will build an administration plan as
described in the article The Administration Plan: A necessity for the Executor. If the plan reveals
that the estate lacks the assets to meet estate obligations, then abatement will result. Additionally, if
the will excludes abatement instructions, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the common executor should defer to an attorney to handle the abatement process.
Final Facts
In full disclosure, I am not an attorney. Also, in my estate administration, abatement was never a
concern. So, this article is a simple overview of what the abatement process entails. The abatement
process is much more complicated than this article reveals. As a result, any common executor
facing abatement should defer the matter to an attorney skilled in probate law.
Furthermore, since some articles in this blog indicated that property left in a will may be sold to
cover expenses, this article reveals the process of how that happens. The executor doesn t get to
pick which beneficiary loses a bequest. The decedent or probate court makes that decision through
the will or legal statute.
Also, for the most part, the abatement process protects the executor from legal action or contests
from beneficiaries concerning abatement. If a beneficiary or creditor doesn t agree with
abatement and files a lawsuit, they will certainly lose. The same happens if a beneficiary contests
the will, that beneficiary will lose. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule and that applies to
estate law as well. However, unless there are extraordinary circumstances, the abatement process
will protect

Summary Of The Days Of Good King
In the days of good King Harry the Second of England he of the warring sons there were certain
forests in the north country set aside for the King s hunting, and no man might shoot deer
therein under penalty of death. These forests were guarded by the King s Foresters, the chief of
whom, in each wood, was no mean man but equal in authority to the Sheriff in his walled town,
or even to my lord Bishop in his abbey. One of the greatest of royal preserves was Sherwood and
Barnesdale forests near the two towns of Nottingham and Barnesdale. Here for some years dwelt
one Hugh Fitzooth as Head Forester, with his good wife and son Robert. The boy had been born
in Lockesley town in the year 1160, stern records say and was often called Lockesley, or Rob of
Lockesley. He was a comely, well knit stripling, and as soon as he was strong enough to walk his
chief delight was to go with his father into the forest. As soon as his right arm received thew and
sinew he learned to draw the long bow and speed a true arrow. While on winter evenings his
greatest joy was to hear his father tell of bold Will o the Green, the outlaw, who for many
summers defied the King s Foresters and feasted with his men upon King s deer. And on other
stormy days the boy learned to whittle out a straight shaft for the long bow, and tip it with gray
goose feathers. The fond mother sighed when she saw the boy s face light up at these woodland
tales. She was of gentle birth, and had hoped to see her son famous

I became very impatient knowing that I would be sitting for eight hours a day for two weeks. It
has been awhile since I had to sit that long, but instead of going with my first instinct to give up
due to the lack of not having patience. Somehow after a few days I became more patient with
myself and believed in me that I can accomplish what I came to study for. After two long weeks
of lectures, and final exams I received a certificate of completion from class. Now that I
overcame the class room it was time for my state exam. I first was nervous but at the same time
confident because I knew if I tooke my time and have the patience the exam would not be so bad
and it wasn t, because I patiently listen to every detail my instructor gave the class.
Everyone that becomes an axia student should master this skill, once I became an axia student I
knew in order for me to communicate more effectively with my classmates and instructor I had to
master this skill and keep it. It has been a while since I had to do a lot of reading and re searching.
But being patient has brought me through so far.
I have challenging days that is easier to endure now that I have the patience to take the time
needed to accomplish my goal. There is one thing I do know is that the only thing impossible is not
believing in you.

Barbara Ehrenreich s The Real Truth About The Female
This article from The Real Truth about the Female by Barbara Ehrenreich targets many beliefs that
women were underestimated. The main theory suggested in this document is that, women had to
follow the traditional duties. Early theories are being questioned as a result to women proving many
things over the years that were often overlooked. Ehrenreich states in his article, it does strongly
suggest that in the Stone Age family, Dad the hunter was not the only provider. There is a great
amount of evidence that suggest the theory that women worked as hard as men. Adrienne Zihlman
and Nancy Tanner stated among surviving hunting peoples, most of the community s calories up to
70% come from plant food patiently gathered by women. This fact

The Effect Of Color On Your Thinking, Choice, Memory,...
Color psychology is the study of the effect of color on human behavior and perception. We are
influenced with all sorts of colors around us. When we see red color, we get a feeling of avoidance,
blue gives us a soothing and warm feeling and yellow makes you feel lively and joyful. Why it is
that sometimes our moods define what kind of colors we like and also the colorof the clothes we
wear. Black color stands for smart professional etiquette and gray gives you a very dull appearance.
All throughout the years, studies have been conducted to analyze the psychological impact of color
on your thinking, choice, memory, learning and cognitive recognition.
Today, companies are investing huge amounts to hire color consultants who advise them on how to
go about and which colors to use for their branding purposes. Coca cola is associated with red color
and Cadbury is associated with purple. Associating with a color proves to be beneficial for the
company as it gives them a different identity. The efficient use of colors can affect the mood of
consumers in a positive or negative way. Colors play a huge role in forming attitude and hence
managers understand the importance of colors in marketing. Rods detect light that is necessary
for colors to exist. Light affects the perception of colors. Whether it is the color of walls in a
restaurant or retail stores or merely the color of packaging on a product, it is usually electrical
lighting that allows colors to be seen. Colors have been

  • 3. The Impact Of Organizational Behavior On Sports Industry An evaluation of how the study of Organizational Behavior in sports industry is relevant to me. In football industry the importance of teamwork pays a huge role in future success. Without balanced group it will be difficult to achieve goals but what is teamwork? There are several ways to define teamwork but for some color why not think of it as the French do. The French language has an excellent expression to describe it: esprit de corps. This means a sense of unity, of enthusiasm for common interests and responsibilities, as developed among a group of persons closely associated in a task, cause, enterprise, etc. Teamwork can be likened to two compounds, almost essential to modern life. It s the glue which keeps a team together, a bond which promotes strength, unity, reliability and support. Teamwork is also the oil that makes the team work. It can enable smoother movement towards targets, can prolong forward momentum, and can help teams to overcome obstacles. Teamwork has the potential to underpin so much of what is valuable in work. In fact, the benefits to be gained from teamwork synergies are essential for the effective management of resources. The value of teamwork is regularly seen in sports. How often do we see teams made up of expensive star players outperformed by teams with players who may be individually less talented? Assuming transfer price tags really are an indicator of talent! The answer lies in two things. The synergistic value of teamwork (our glue and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Darren Shane Saga combines the real world and the vampire world in not only a way that is interesting to the reader, but also realistic. The way that the series is put together will not bring a reader to boredom because of the unexpected events that will take place, therefore keeping the reader hooked to the series. In most movies/books today the end can be expected from the beginning, but in this series the events that take place cannot be expected which makes it a very interesting read. This is when Darren Shan really starts to leave readers mystified readers in the way that events take place and how they take place. Darren and Larten must make a trip to a place called Vampire Mountain ( white house of the vampire world ). When there the questioning of Larten s decisions leads to the decision that Darren shall partake in the Trials of Death ( trials in which vampire generals, something like congress, and vampire princes must take in order to gain their positions ). Usually in a book the main character somehow miraculously avoids death in even the hardest situations, but Darren Shan twists this standard definition of a story and makes it to where Darren does survive but not without scars and burns and amputation almost. Darren is forced to flee by one of his close friends Kurda Smahlt to avoid death but when fleeing from the mountain Darren sees Kurda kill one of the fellow vampires, making Kurda a traitor to the clan. • 6. The Effects Of Housing Animals In Zoos When people think of a zoo what pops into their minds? They probably imagine a fun, educational place where kids can learn about happy little animals from watching them in enclosures. What comes to mind when I think of a zoo, however, is the opposite. I picture severely depressed and overly stressed animals trapped in cages too small to mimic their natural environment. The effects of housing animals in zoos can be detrimental to the animal s health, increasing the probability of stress induced diseases and stereotypic behavior, especially in Asian and Africans elephants. Although wild animals are anything but free from disease or injury, it is a more significant problem for them in captivity. According to Stephen Bostock, author of Zoos and Animal Rights , the stress of being captured and transported can make an animal more liable to serious, infection (67). He also mentions how the conditions in zoos can assist in the spread of infections and parasites (67). In addition to this, animals can be exposed to disease they would not normally face in the wild, diseases that they have no immunity built against. For example, primates catch tuberculosis and measles from humans and Antarctic penguins often die from aspergillosis as a result of not living in their natural aseptic environment (Bostock, 67). So even though zoo animals may be healthier in ways such as less minor injuries, the gap between them and their wild counterparts is not as big as people perceive. Elephants are ... • 8. St. Thomas Aquinas Arguments On Lawful Suicide The topic of whether or not suicide is lawful is very popular among both ancient and modern philosophers. Two of the most notable minds to opposing the issue include St. Thomas Aquinas and Immanuel Kant. Both men come from different worlds separated by the centuries. Even though they both oppose lawful suicide; they approach the topic in differing ways. I will analyze both of their arguments, compare the similarities and differences, as well as provide my own though which I find to be most agreeable. St. Thomas Aquinas is a widely renowned Christian theologian and philosopher, as well as an important doctor of the Church. Because of his deeply rooted Catholic faith, Aquinas reasoning is based heavily on Church doctrine and scripture. However, he is also known for his study of Aristotle, whose more practical views he intertwines with Christian teaching. For Aquinas, the idea of suicide is an obvious violation of Christian doctrine as well as the worst possible offence against God. Aquinas argument against the idea of lawful suicide is rooted in the rules within his definition of natural law. To Aquinas natural law is based on practical reason of beings. This practical reason is conveys the notion that all beings naturally seek good ends. We are naturally inclined to do good actions and avoid evil ones. His view is influenced from Christian... At a young age, Alexander believed his destiny was to exact revenge on the Persians for the burning of Athens 7, but as his campaign became longer and longer, his ideals changed and his vision for the new world came into existence. His vision for a united Macedonia, along with conquered countries being absorbed into the empire, came with the prospect of global trade routes, intermingling of the Persian and Macedonian cultures and people, and interracial marriage between royalty of Persian and Macedonian empires 8. His vision was far more ambitious than what the Macedonian leaders had sought after: he attempted to combine the two greatest powers in the known world to create an even greater power 9. He was an idealist because where his predecessors had aimed to keep the Macedonian race pure and rule all empires, including the Persians; Alexander sought to include the massive Persian population into the empire, utilizing their unique skills and culture, which would only benefit the kingdom as a whole 10. His many attempts to integrate the Persian people into his own included using Persian soldiers in his ranks, promoting interracial marriage, and even marrying 2 foreign princesses to better consolidate his vast empire 11. States like Alabama, Michigan, Illinois, and Arizona are in the news for high, pension plan debt that are eating away city and state budgets. But, the public sector isn t alone in underfunding pensions. Not all private pensions are the money in the bank that employees think they are, in fact they are doing about the same as public pensions. Neither is 100 percent funded. The result? A combined deficit in retirement plan savings of over $4 trillion for payees between the ages of 25 and 64. A Quick History of Retirement: Then and Now In 1875, the first private pension plan was created by the American Express Company. Because most employers were not publically traded companies, they were rare. A series of revenue laws passed by congress from 1921 1929 helped private pensions grow by safeguarding funds from federal taxation and providing tax credits to employers who contribute to an employee pension plan. Amazingly, private pension plans survived the stock market crash in October of 1929 with only a three percent of workers losing their plans. In fact, a few of the private pension plans started before 1929 are still active today U.S. Steel Company (1911) General Electric Co. (1912) American Telephone and Telegraph Co. • 16. Dworkin And Hartin Theory Of Law In applying both Dworkin and Hart s theories of law, they come to very different conclusions in regards to the case of Riggs v. Palmer. According to Dworkin s theory of law, judges do not solely focus only on the rules, instead, they focus on seeking right answers. Dworkin has many problems and disagreements with Hart s theory, one in particular is relating to what Dworkin labels principles and policies . Dworkin defines a principle as a standard that is observed due to it being a requirement of justice or fairness or some other dimension of morality(Dworkin, p.153 154). Policies, which go alongside principles, are standards in which a goal is set out to be reached by the community (seen as improvements to life) (Dworkin, p.153).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Secondary rules are split into three different types: Rules of change (allow public/private powers to fix old rules), adjudication (remedy for inefficiency, introduces courts and law enforcement), and recognition (confers powers on people to identify law, and the unification of rules) (MacAlister, 2017). Another important concept within Hart s theory of law is that he thinks judges have to their discretion. Hart proposes the idea of open texture in law, which states that at times, the law does not cover every situation that arises and that law may run out (MacAlister, 2017). Within this open texture, the is a clear core of certainty, where application of the law is apparent, and beyond the core, is the penumbra, the uncertainty and indeterminacy in law in which hard cases are based upon. As law branches out of this core of rules, it becomes more and more indeterminate. Due to this indeterminacy, Hart believes that since there is no clear answer written in the law, judges should have the discretion in dealing with hard cases. Honor-Shame Code in The Tale of the Heike Essay 11/28/12 HIST485 Honor Shame Code in The Tale of Heike In The Tale of Heike, the way in which the Japanese viewed defeat and dying is revealed to the reader through various incidents covered during the time of the novel. To be defeated was shameful but to prevail was a way to gain respect and honor. The accounts in Heike tell us that one could defeat an opponent by exiling him, insulting him, or even taking revenge upon him. Because being defeated was shameful, warriors would kill themselves before being killed by the opponent. If a warrior failed in his duty, suicide would be the necessary measure taken to regain honor. Not only could suicide be a way to gain honor, it could also be a way to shame someone. If you prohibit your enemy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Heike also reveals that another way to defeat your enemy and another way to be shamed by your enemy was through humiliation. Kiyomori often humiliated his enemies. He exiled Naritsune, Yasuyori, and Shunkan to Kikai ga shima, a faraway island, because they were conspiring against the Taira. Later, only Naritsune and Yasuyori were pardoned but Shunkan was not. This was Kiyomori s revenge on Shunkan because Kiyomori had given Shunkan his job and still had the nerve to betray him (290 291). Through exile, Kiyomori shamed Naritsune, Yasuyori, and Shunkan by denying them the opportunity to commit suicide but sentencing them to death by starvation. Insults were another way to shame your enemy. Nakatsuma passive aggressively denies Munemori the chance to ride Konoshita, his horse, by saying the horse was tired from having been overridden (306). Summary Of The Poem After The War Poem When faced with the countless problems of war including death, disease, sorrow, and loss, soldiers develop and intense bond between one another as they seek support in one another. A brotherhood is formed among these soldiers who rely on one another for protection and companionship amid a time in their lives where they are faced with the constant threat of death and violence everyday of their lives. But what happens to them after the war? In After the War, poet brings awareness to how the war torn soldier attempts to reestablish their self in a society they have been isolated from for so many years through use of free verse and repetitive phrases, which further reinforces the theme throughout the poem. Use of free verse in this poem creates a lack of structure that appears to parallel the soldier s own lack of structure and direction in his own life after he leaves the war. The poem begins with the image of a soldier s and his squadron raiding a farmhouse: When he got to the farmhouse, he rifled through the cabinets, drawers, and cupboards, and his buddies did too. The place was abandoned, or so he thought, and his buddies did too. The first stanza connotes a slight sense structure as the phrase and his buddies did too is repeated after stating each action the soldier does. Moreover, the lines themselves are structured in such a way that suggests a deliberate organized form especially in comparison to how the rest of the poem is written. Most interesting about the ... Normative Context Of Advice In Goldsmith and Fitch s 1997 article The Normative Context of Advice as Social Support the dilemmas associated with giving, seeking, and taking advice are examined. The overarching goal of this study is to analyze what the normative actions of support, specifically advice, are. The research questions that were taken into consideration are as follows: what goals are pursued as people ask for, and give, advice; what identity and relational implications of advice shape givers and receivers reactions to advice; and what situational, conversational, and cultural constraints are relevant to participants evaluation of advice? (Goldsmith Fitch, 1997) Multiple dilemmas were found pertaining to advice including honesty versus support, caring vesrsus intrusive, and respect versus autonomy. Each of these qualities are present in every interaction in which advice is given, asked for, or received. As for the first pair of qualities, honesty and support, it manifests itself in the situation. How the advice is taken is dependent on the present circumstances, rather than on relational context. For example, if someone were to ask to be brutally honest, this does not constitute perpetual honesty; instead, it allows a temporary period during which being... Thomas Moore and Plato have different mentalities when it comes to the selection of an individual s occupation. Thomas Moore focuses on a Utopia were the work force is strictly determined by the society s needs while Plato believes that each individual should perform the task that best fits with his or her natural ability. Thomas Mores Utopia has more of a community sense. People are forced to believe that the purpose for working is for the good of the public. In Plato s Republic a person duty is determined by their natural ability. Unlike Thomas Mores Utopia, Socrates believes that a person should focus on achieving the most for themselves rather than the community being primary purpose. Plato s Republic greatly supports the idea of inequality, and shows that social stratification is essential for the movement of the economy. For a country to function, there must be some sort of hierarchy and inequality. In page 118 of the republic Socrates states that he leaves it to each class to achieve the kind of happiness that nature confers it (pg. 18). Citizens in each class must work hard to prosper in theirs own class. People in the Republic must have the mentality of working hard for themselves. What they don t realize is the domino effect that is triggered. As they work more, the classes above them are also greatly impacted because they are able to benefit. Social Stratification is valued in Socrates to a certain extend. Socrates mentions the importance of each member in each class to be apart of neither wealth nor poverty. The common man as the role of the boatman is important where as this is the point in the play that it is unhealthy to know More. When More is out late trying to get home, he calls for a lone boatman also on his way home. American capitalismimplements free market ideology and that makes the U.S. stand out among other nations. Other nations do not dwell on privatization and deregulation nearly as much as the U.S., which is both a major strength and critique of American capitalism. One critique of American capitalism is the Five Internal Contradiction of Capitalism. These contradictions include inevitable growth of monopolies, demand labor saving technology and policies, issues of over and under production, increases in economic inequality, and convergence of economic and political power. This economic system creates detrimental social issues among the population. With economic policy being in the best interest of big corporations, the wealth accumulates and stays at the top. The bottom income group suffers the most as there is less wealth available for them and they are forced to endure strive and pain just to survive another day. Also, in my estate administration, abatement was never a concern. So, this article is a simple overview of what the abatement process entails. The abatement process is much more complicated than this article reveals. As a result, any common executor facing abatement should defer the matter to an attorney skilled in probate law. Furthermore, since some articles in this blog indicated that property left in a will may be sold to cover expenses, this article reveals the process of how that happens. The executor doesn t get to pick which beneficiary loses a bequest. The decedent or probate court makes that decision through the will or legal statute. Also, for the most part, the abatement process protects the executor from legal action or contests from beneficiaries concerning abatement. If a beneficiary or creditor doesn t agree with abatement and files a lawsuit, they will certainly lose. The same happens if a beneficiary contests the will, that beneficiary will lose. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule and that applies to estate law as well. However, unless there are extraordinary circumstances, the abatement process will protect ...
