concerto with broad chords. The piano greatly filled the theater through her very big sound
which blew away many of the pianists in attendance because the particular piano that she played
on has a heavy action. Although heaviness can easily lead to harshness on the piano, Joyce Yang
showed absolutely none of that at all and made her deep parts very emotionally heart wrenching
instead which I really appreciated because it is not easy for some people to find that balance.

because it gave the audience a break from the two previous fierce movements. It had a very
