Chapter 3: Collision at Cajamarca
Write a paragraph explaining your views on the event of November 16, 1532. What strikes you the
most about this event? Why did Pizarro succeed?
On November 16, 1532 Francisco Pizarro conquered over the Incan emperor Atahualpa. Spaniards
massacre tens of thousands of Indians. At this time the use of steel swords were very beneficial,
because the Spaniards had them where the Incans did not. I believe that the victory of this invasion
was based off of the more advanced ethnic group, because the Spaniards had the more advanced
weapons and technology. This victory is a shock to me, because the Spaniards were un aware of the
terrain and the Incans has the home field advantage. The reason Pizarro succeeded was he had
originally gained the trust of Atahualpa and then captured him and used his advanced weaponry to
conquer the Incans

Co Workers Research Paper
Just about everyone will experience co workers at some point in life, at their job. Some co workers
can be a pleasure to work with, while others may be not so much. From experience as an employee, I
ve had both excellent and poor experiences with my co workers. I have had to learn how to handle
each of the different types of situations with them. When working, you have to know how to deal with
all types of co workers. You should try and become aware of the type of employee the staff member is
and how they act. You can gain an enhanced understanding as to what will work great to keep the
work environment a pleasurable place. One type of co worker you might have experience with is a

Examples Of Affective Commitment
a. Affective commitment (meyer and allen 1997) Affective commitment measures the level of
attachment and affection that an individual has with the company. Employees sometimes get
emotionally attached to their company and this can be due to several reasons for example, good
internal relations, good atmosphere, friendly environment and peer motivation (Van Knippenberg
Sleebos, 2006). When an employee gets attention and prominent identity in a company, he/she gets
associated to it by heart and then it becomes a reason for them to stay in the company and not leave
their jobs. This dimensions tells that an employee will not leave the job in organization because he do
not want to leave it. So this is the congruence between organizational goals ... Show more content on

Employees under this category think that they have to be in this organization because they should be
(Meyer Parfyonova, 2010). This dimension links the employees moral and ethical attitude towards the
organization. They consider it as an obligation to be loyal to their company if the company is doing
something good for them (Gellatly, Meyer, Luchak, 2006). These kind of employees remain loyal to
the company as they think their company is providing them with benefits and meeting their needs so
they should be loyal to their company in anyway. It shows that this type of employees stay in
organization even if they are not completely satisfied with their jobs or even if they get better
opportunities they will stick to their company (Gellatly et al., 2006). Employees with this mind think
they should consider their place as priority based on several factors, for example, they think that the
company has paid a lot of money on their training so they should not waste this effort of the
organization and pay it back with their loyalty and commitment. So this dimension links the social and
moral duty of individuals with their company s goals (Powell Meyer,

Move Of Wrestling Essay
So in wrestling there are multiple moves you can do. These moves are probably the most basic moves
you are taught and the most commonly used moves done today. The first move is the double leg
takedown. The double leg takedown is a flying tackle similar to a football tackle (Douglas). For a
double leg takedown there are a lot of little steps that you may need to execute this move correctly.
The first thing you need to do is perform a setup and then to perform a penetration step. The next thing
you are gonna wanna do is to place your head on either side of your opponent. Next you are going to
want to push your chest up against your opponent s thighs and hips. The less space you have the better
control you will have over your opponents strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Typically, the lower part of the leg is pulled in one direction, while the torso or shoulder is used to
press the body or upper part of the leg of the opponent in the other direction. Another great takedown
is the duck under. In a duck under, the wrestler pulls the opponent s elbow forward and away from the
body, lowers his own head, and ducks under the opponent s arm in an effort to get behind or at least
beside the opponent; from this position the opponent can be taken down by lifting and throwing or by
a leg trip. Then for the best and most used move everyone uses in wrestling, the half nelson. The half
nelson is referred to by most coaches as being the easiest, but most effective move in folkstyle
wrestling (Wrestling Moves). It involves you using only one hand, by passing it under the arm of the
opponent and locking the hand on the opponent s neck. Then you will run him over until his back is
fully on the mat. Then you will want to get chest to chest to make sure that he can t get out of it. You
will hold it there until he is pinned or until you get your nearfall points. So there are a lot of wrestling
moves to know about, but in order to be good at these moves, you must choose to eat healthy so you
can execute these moves

Substantially Likely Factor Essay
The Substantially Likely Factor
The government has failed to demonstrate that the forced medication of Mr. Whitman against his will,
is substantially likely to render him competent to stand trial. To protect the liberty interests of
defendants who are initially too ill to stand trial, the Supreme Court implemented the four pronged
Sell Test. Per the holding of Sell, in order to physically subdue and forcibly medicate a sick defendant
who has not consented to treatment, the government must demonstrate by presenting clear and
convincing evidence, that such treatment is substantially likely to make the sick defendant well
enough to stand trial. See Sell v. United States, 539 U.S. 166, 180, 123 S. Ct.(2003). The government

The court held that the expert medical witness testimony regarding the Herbel Study, his own
experiences as a physician, and the medical record of the defendant did not provide enough evidence
to justify the forced medication of the defendant even though all three concerned patients with
delusional disorders. Watson, 793 F.3d at 428. The court found that the fourteen year old Herbel study
was inherently flawed due to its design and did not justify the forced medication of the defendant
because the information provided about its subjects was neither similar enough nor specific enough to
the situation of the defendant at hand. Id. at 426. Similarly, the court faulted the government s reliance
on the personal experiences of the witness because the information provided regarding his patients
was not specific enough to the defendant s situation. In particular, the testimony did not indicate that
the previously treated patients had delusions that were meaningfully similar in nature and persistence
to those of the defendants. The medical record of the defendant was also inadequate because although
it reported that he had previously been given the, it only indicated that he had been treated and

Minerva was independent and did not care what anyone else thought. She cared about her education

Minerva was a heroine because she was the bravest sister. Minerva is hearing
Sinita s story about Trujillo and she can hardly bear it, I started crying, but I pinched my arms to stop.
I had to be brave for Sinita. (Alvarez 17) She tried to be there for other people and listen to their

He yanks me by the wrist, thrusting his pelvis at me in a vulgar way, and I can see my hand in an
endless slow motion rise a mind all its own and come down on the astonished, made up face. (Alvarez

authority, she stood up for herself, which took courage.

Siddhartha Gautama Was A Great Leader
Siddhartha Gautama was the son of a king, pampered like a prince who abandoned the life of desire to
pursue Enlightenment. When I lived in Nepal, I went to school and studied Buddhism. There I learned
about his life and the philosophies he kept in practices. Also, I learned that he was a great leader, and
his great ideas such as the Four Noble Truths, Eightfold path, Nirvana, fundamental wisdoms, the
theory of karma and rebirth, the five precepts and Wheel of Dharma has influenced many people. I
learned about his great achievement and how he was able to create a whole new religion, which is now
known as the fourth largest religion in the world, by influencing people through his practices and
philosophy. From this experience, I learned firsthand that he is a great religious leader who left a
legacy not just on Nepalese culture, but on the whole world.
The founder of Buddhism was a man named Siddhartha Gautama. He was born in Nepal, just where I
was. To be more specific he was born in a prominent garden of Lumbini which soon rehabilitated to a
place of pilgrimage. Even then it wasn t sure that he was really born in Lumbini, it was a predication.
Some Buddhist from last some century had interrogated about the Siddhartha Gautama birth story, but

The Transportation Of Cargo Transport
Executive summary
Thousands of airports all over the world handle cargo attracting both big and small companies into the
industry. The transportation of cargo is an indicator of how the international trade is performing and
shows the position of the global economy. With the economies of countries growing wider every day
the demand for consumer goods increases. The supply chain exists so that manufacturers can be
connected to the suppliers and the middlemen to the shippers till it reaches the end user. Airports play
an important part in the cargo transport hence there is the need to understand the relationship that
exists between the two industries. This paper will be addressing the important role of airports in the
transportation of cargo. It will highlight the marketing strategies that are used by airports to attract
cargo lines. It will also reveal the characteristics of the major airports.
Introduction
Air freight is an important contributor to UK s economy making the country notable in the
international trade arena. Air transport helps in improving the competitiveness of companies
operations such as logistics and the management of inventory. According to Oxford Economic
Forecasting report (2013) shows that twenty five percent of the companies in UK consider airport
services to be very important to them in ensuring smooth running of their cargo. In UK the freight
industry accounts for 55% of all the cargo transported especially the perishable goods which can only

The War Of The Aesir And The Vanir

Mythology 3rd Hour
April 4th, 2016
The War of the Aesir and the Vanir In Norse mythology, gods and goddesses usually belong to one of
two tribes: the Aesir and the Vanir. Throughout most of the Norse tales, deities from the two tribes get
along fairly easily, and it s hard to pin down firm distinctions between the two groups. But there was a
time when that wasn t the case.
The War of the Gods
The Vanir goddess Freya was always the foremost practitioner of the art of seidr, a form of magic
principally concerned with discerning and altering the course of destiny. Like historical seidr
practitioners, she wandered from town to town plying her craft for hire.
Under the name Heiðr ( Bright ), she eventually came to Asgard, the home of the Aesir. The Aesir
were quite taken by her powers and zealously sought her services. But soon they realized that their
values of honor, kin loyalty, and obedience to the law were being pushed aside by the selfish desires
they sought to fulfill with the witch s magic. Blaming Freya for their own shortcomings, the Aesir
called her Gullveig ( Gold greed ) and attempted to murder her. Three times they tried to burn her, and
three times she was reborn from the ashes.
Because of this, the Aesir and Vanir came to hate and fear one another, and these hostilities erupted
into war. The Aesir fought by the rules of plain combat, with weapons and brute force, while the Vanir
used the subtler means of magic. The war went on for some

The Historical Accuracy of Henry V by William Shakespeare...
The Historical Accuracy of Henry V
Henry V, written by William Shakespeare, is by far one of his more historically accurate plays. This
play is the life of young King Henry V, who ascended to the throne after his father, Henry IV s death.
These times were much different for England, as Henry V was a noble lord whom everyone loved,

the historical Henry V, but certain parts are either inflated deflated, or conflated to dramatize Henry V
as a character suitable for a Renaissance audience.

A Comparative Review of the Vascular System in Seed Plants...
A comparative review of the vascular system in seed plants and humans
In the evolutionary tree of life, all biotic organisms are believed to have derived from a common
ancestor. The organisms falling under the eukaryotic kingdom of Plantae are known to have arisen in
the same time period as those in the eukaryotic kingdom of Animalia the Paleozoic era, about 500
million years ago (MYA) (Raven et al., 2008). Despite their chronological resemblance, their
evolutionary diversity is especially great in their most advanced organisms humans and seed plants.
One key system that illustrates this diversity is the vascular system (or the cardiovascular system in
humans). The vascular system of the respective lines of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While xylem transports water and nutrients that generally originate at the roots, phloem transports
food (in the form of sugars), hormones, and mRNA which generally originate in the leaf of the plant.
Additionally, while water is moved through passive transport, food requires energy to be driven
throughout the length of the root and shoot, and is thus carried through active transport. Food transport
is said to go from a source (where it is made) to a sink (where it is needed) (Vaucher, 2003). Humans
use a more intricate network of systems to keep the internal body conditions moist and nourished. The
cardiovascular system is the primary network of tubules responsible for molecular transport. Humans
extract nutrients, vitamins, and other vital compounds from food in the gastrointestinal tract;
extraction of minerals, vitamins, blood, and vital compounds from liquids is done primarily in the
glomerulus of the kidney (Raven et al., 2008). Once the necessary molecules are in the blood stream,
the cardiovascular system delivers it to the desired tissue through diffusion. The cardiovascular system
of humans uses the heart to circulate blood throughout the body. The human heart is composed of four
chambers; the left atrium and left ventricle transport oxygenated blood from the heart to the rest of the
body, incoming deoxygenated blood filters from the superior and inferior vena cava to right atrium

Birth Control On Culture And Society
Birth control is a huge issue in our social world. Through the many perspectives birth control can
connect individuals with society. There is a whole culture set around birth control, the media affects an
individual s thoughts, and conflict theory can also affect people s views on contraception.
Culture and society have many factors from a social perspective. They consist of objectives, beliefs,
behaviors, and any other common traits between a group of people. Of course, culture is not fixed.
People are free to choose and change their minds as time passes by. American culture from today is
vastly different from 100 years ago. Some of the changes are due to the advancement of technology
and new inventions. Birth control is one invention to have an effect on culture. Many people condemn
the usage of any form of birth control. Birth control includes hormonal methods, barrier methods, and
natural methods. A symbol of maturity can be seen in these methods of contraception. For example,
for a teenager boy to receive a condom (barrier method) from his father before going on a date
symbolizes the boy ending his childhood and entering adulthood. Also, the condom to the boy
symbolizes the trust the father has given to his son. The father believes that his son will be responsible
and fully trusts in him to make the right decision. Another way contraception can be a symbol is when
a girl decides to use birth control pills. The usage of these pills symbolizes her

What programs am I going to use to transform the data? What am I going to do once I have all the
numbers? What kind of visualizations will emphasize the results? All questions you should have
answers to. Step 2: Get Your Data (EXTRACT) This sounds a lot easier than it actually is. If you re
more of a beginner, it s going to be the hardest obstacle in your way. Depending on your use there are
typically more than 1 way to extract data. My personal preference is to use Python, which is a
scripting programming language. It is very strong, and it is used heavily in the analytic world. There is
a Python distribution called Anaconda that already has a lot of tools and packages included that you
will want for Data Analytics. Once you ve installed Anaconda, you ll need to download an IDE
(integrated developer environment), which is separate from Anaconda itself, but is what interfaces
with the programs itself and allows you to code. I recommend PyCharm. Once you ve downloaded all
of the things necessary to extract data, you re going to have to actually extract it. Ultimately, you have
to know what you re looking for in order to be able to search it and figure it out. There are a number of
guides out there that will walk you more through the technicalities of this process. That is not my goal,
my goal is to outline the steps necessary to analyze data. Step 3: Play With Your Data

If the hospital creates an ineffective budget then the hospital will have to make tough decisions on
holding off certain non vital services to veterans until the new fiscal year. Also, by creating an
effective budget it will benefit management because they will be able to keep their jobs for using the
tax payer s money effectively. If they create an ineffective budget and veterans services are delayed
then some management may lose their jobs.
In outlining a budget there are two phases that must be determined to create a budget, an operating
phase and a financial phase. Developing a new operating budget starts with examining budgets from
previous years and identifying what components are going to change, by how much and if any new
components need to be added or existing ones reduced or cut (Budget Challenges, 2012). In the first
phase of the budget it needs to be determined how much money is going to be needed to operate the

Since, the company that I work for is a federally funded facility it looks differently than a company

Summary Of The RevolutionaryAnd Sergei Eisenstein sStrike
What does it mean for something to be revolutionary? By definition, something revolutionary has to
be involving or causing a complete or dramatic change . But the line for where a dramatic change
starts and ends is often times hard to determine. The first films were shown to public audiences in the
late 1890 s by the French Lumière brothers. Yet the idea of a cinema as we now know it was only just
beginning to take shape during the first quarter of the 20th century. It is in this context that we are to
view Evgeny Bauer s The Revolutionary (1917) and Sergei Eisenstein s Strike (1925). Both of these
films utilize several interesting artistic choices and convey their stories well to the audience yet for in
order for a film to be truly revolutionary, it has to convey a bold message along with a unique
performance. While Bauer s film left me with a greater appreciation of early cinema as an art form I
think that Sergei Eisenstein s Strike is the truly revolutionary film.
While Bauer s The Revolutionary is a story about a revolutionary who after returning back from
Siberia to a democratic Russia is determined to fight FOR the new government, we see that Strike is
the riveting tale of how the death of a factory worker serves as the rallying call for the workers to
unite in a strike against the corrupt managers and government that oppresses them. In this regard we
see that Strike has a much more bold and riveting tale, there is also no happy ending in the film as

John Calvin on God s Divine Providence Essay
John Calvin on God s Divine Providence
In John Calvin s Institutes of the Christian Religion he spends a great deal of time expounding his
doctrine of God s Divine providence in all of creation. He explains not only how God continually
governs the laws of nature, but also how God governs man s actions and intentions to bring about His
own Divine Will. Calvin believes that God s providence is so encompassing in creation that even a
man s own actions, in many ways, are decreed by God. Because of this belief there arises the question,
Does Calvin leave room for the free will of man? At the outset I must make clear that Calvin defines

argue that the movement of the sun, moon, stars, and planets is continued by God s power and not by
some energy that was given to them at the beginning of creation, which carnal sense would tell us
(Calvin 197). He does not believe that God sits back and watches or allows things in nature to happen,
but actually causes them to happen. For example, if there was a drought one summer it was caused by
God, possibly part of His vengeance or wrath. Or, if the crops flourished the next summer it was also
His plan. Likewise, let us say per chance (no pun intended) a man is walking along a mountain pass
and some rocks fall and kill him. For Calvin this was not an accident, but a determination and the Will
of God. Calvin s ideology of God s Providence in nature is summed up in this quote:
And truly God claims, and would have us grant him, omnipotence not the empty, idle, and almost
unconscious sort that the Sophists imagine, but a watchful, effective, active sort, engaged in ceaseless
activity. Not, indeed, an omnipotence that is only a general principle of confused motion, as if he were
to command a river to flow through its once appointed channels, but one that

Effects Of The British Petroleum Oil Spill

The Major Effects of The British Petroleum Oil Spill
The BP Oil spill pumped almost 200 million gallons of crude oil into the gulf of mexico, for
approximately 87 days. This became the largest and most devastating oil spill in the United States.
The coastlines of Texas, Alabama, Florida, MIssissippi and Louisiana were drastically effected by this
horrible oil spill. In the end the BP oil spill negativity impacted more than 16,000 miles of coastline.
Even today, oil is appearing on shores, and created horrible damage to living organisms in the area and
around the area. The British Petroleum Oil Spill effected the ecosystem, human health and created
many jobs in the effort to clean up the disaster. The health of the ecosystem and the Gulf of Mexico
were effected drastically by the British Petroleum Oil spill. When the Associated Press recently asked
26 scientists to grade the effects of the spill on about two dozen aspects of Gulf health, they concluded
the Gulf was 11 percent less healthy today, dropping from an average 73 to 65 on a scale of 100 to
zero (Schleifstein 1). It is apparent that the British Petroleum Oil Spill has affected the ecosystem s
health conditions drastically compared to the time prior to this tragic incident. It is evident that the
ecosystem is less sustainable than before the British Petroleum Oil Spill, proving that the spill was
detrimental to the plant and

Body Dysmorphia Essay
Body Dysmorphia Understanding and Overcoming Introduction Imagine looking in the mirror and
seeing exactly what you think you looked like. A large nose, acne prone skin, single eyelids, and the
list goes on. We all wish we could change that one imperfection we have. However, some of us can
accept it and carry on with our lives; not for sufferers of body dysmorphic disorder. Learning about
this really has hit me close to home; as according to the National Health Service (NHS), having body
dysmorphic disorder does not mean you are vain or self obsessed, as it can be upsetting and have a big
impact on your life. Therefore, I would like to share with you my findings on what body dysmorphic
disorder is, how social media plays an important role, and how it can help alleviate the issue. BODY
what The International OCD Foundation discovered that about 1 in 50 of the general population
suffers from body dysmorphic disorder. Body dysmorphic disorder, or body dysmorphia, is a mental
health condition where a person spends too much time worrying the imperfections in their appearance.
Anyone can have body dysmorphia, but it is most common in teenagers and young adults. It is not
known specifically what causes body dysmorphia; but like many other mental illnesses, they may be a
result from a combination of causes such as, abnormalities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

An analysis done by the National Institute of Health revealed, that plenty of Pro Anorexia or

which is potentially hazardous as the content should supposedly be devoted to healthy pursuits. Social
media is also an outlet where a person can be exposed to body shaming, which serves as a trigger for
those already suffering from the

The Grand Budapest Hotel, By Wes Anderson
Wes Anderson has done it again with his new film, The Grand Budapest Hotel. True to the style of
Anderson movies, The Grand Budapest Hotel is filled with gorgeous color schemes, witty lines,
impeccable scoring, and perfectly symmetrical frames. We even get glimpses of the usual crew that act
in the Anderson franchise, including Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson, and Bill Murray. Shot in a 1930 s
style movie frame, the story starts out on a snowy white scene in a small European town. A girl walks
to a memorial of a man, sits down by his statue and opens up a book. A voice over then begins, as well
as the main story, which is composed in a flashback recounted by an author (Tom Wilkinson). The
flashback depicts the author traveling to The Grand Budapest Hotel in hopes of curing his writer s
block. There, in the slow crumbling of the hotel, he meets M. Moustafa, the proprietor of the Grand
Budapest. The rest is history, literally. The main part of the movie takes place in a war ravaged
Zabrowka, with communists in control and the Grand Budapest Hotel struggling to keep its usual
amount of affluent customers. We are introduced to the concierge and manager of the hotel, M.
Gustave, a delightfully flawed character who is charming and lovable yet completely irresponsible. He
lectures the staff about their cleanliness and professionalism yet sleeps with the elderly (and married)
women who frequent his hotel. One dowager in particular becomes important after she is murdered
after leaving

Space Energy Comes From Sugar Smacks
My visual analysis is on an ad from 1969. the advertisement features messages about a television
show, popular cereal, and a popular brand. Over time advertisements for cereal have changed slightly
from the original tactics. In the 1969 ad, Kellogg s, a popular breakfast brand at the time is featuring
one of the many cereal products, Sugar Smacks, that the company produces. The ad also features a
popular television show from this period, and one of the more main characters from the show
representing the cereal. The ad also shows that there is a Free Star Trek Badge inside of the box of
cereal. The ad also claims that Space Energy Comes From Sugar Smacks . The reasoning for this
claim is because Spock, the Star Trek character, is from space.

Saudi Arabia And The Arab Arabia
Located along the Persian Gulf and Red Sea, is a country by the name of Saudi Arabia, the Middle
East s largest country. Saudi Arabia is officially known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Given
the title the birthplace of Islam , makes Saudi Arabia highly respected in the Middle East and in many
other Muslim countries and communities. Composed of over twenty seven million citizens, Saudi
Arabia ranks as the 13th largest country in the world. Business in Saudi Arabia is different than
business in the United States in various aspects, which will be discussed throughout this paper.
Ethical Challenges. Saudi Arabia faces ethical challenges that tend to hinder its progression while
being a very productive country as well. In regards to corruption, Saudi Arabia is ranked in the
middle, compared to any other country in the world. According to Transparency International, Saudi
Arabia ranks 48th out of the 168 countries in reference to corruption with a score of 52%. That 52%
means that Saudi Arabia is somewhat corrupt, with 0% being highly corrupt and 100% being very
clean (Transparency Index, 2016). Saudi Arabia has been making progress towards becoming less
corrupt, given that their Corruptions Perceptions Index score has risen every year since 2008. Reasons
being for this level of corruption is due to the government. The country has corruption laws in place
but these laws are not strictly enforced and are enforced at the discretion of the government. When

Racial Barriers In Baseball
Introduction Over the first few decades after the breaking of the racial barrier in baseball by Jackie
Robinson the number of African American in professional baseball stayed on a rise, unfortunately the
numbers over the most recent decades have been going the opposite direction. The color barrier was
broken in Major League Baseball (MLB) by Robinson on April 15, 1947 when he was called to play
for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson broke way for African Americans in baseball and they took
advantage of it as the number increased every year after. The purpose of this study is to find out why
the percentage of African Americans playing in the MLB has been on a steady decline the past few
decades. This percentage is dropping every year and there does not seem to be much of a change in the
future. While the numbers of African American professionals are much higher in football and
basketball and not at risk of dropping soon, what is it that is making baseballs number slowly
diminish. In this research I will examine numbers that have been put together and analyze interviews
that were performed with some professionals as well as highly accredited sports journalist. Although I
will focus on professional baseball I will also provide some insight on youth baseball to see what the
future may hold as far as the possibility of another increase in the percentage of African Americans in
the pros. As the years gone on there has also been an increase in latin baseball players throughout
professional baseball, as well as a decrease in whites. Some questions regarding the topic are what is
causing the decline in the percentage? What initiative is being taken by Major League Baseball to help
try to increase the percentages? What is significant about baseball compared to other sports (football,
basketball) that makes them different and less attractive to African American youth?
Literature Review In all articles read all journalist mentions the same thing. One major contributor to
the decline in African Americans in baseball is because of the cost to be good. Most of the highly
talented players now come from travel ball and not your stand park rec. league. To compete at the
highly level of travel ball has the potential to be

Marine Aviation Case Study
The United States over the past 150 years has risen into a military world power and a giant within the
global market increasing the demand for the Marine Corps expeditionary assets to protect foreign and
domestic interests. Although the Marine Corps and United States currently have the capability to do
so, this may not be the case as we move forward into the technology and information age. As the
United States continues its protection of global and domestic interests, the requirement for a more
advanced strike fighter is essential to ensure the security and survival of the nation.
In 1993, the Secretary of Defense s Bottom up Review acknowledged the Services need to affordably
replace their aging strike assets in order to maintain the Nation s technological combat edge.1

Edward Witten is most known for proving the string theory using a mathematical equation. Werner
Heisenberg s research in 1943 became the base from which the string theory grew from. Yoichiro
Nambu, Holger Bech Nielsen, and Leonard Susskind first had the idea of string theory in 1970, but the
scientific community lost interest quickly. Due to the discovery of quantum chromodynamics, John. H
Schwarz and Joel Scherk where able to study boson (elementary particle) patterns and found that they
acted as strings and that their properties matched graviton (elementary particle). This discovery led to
the bosonic string theory, which was the first string theory that is still taught to students as they are

Onychomycosis Research Paper
Nail fungus or onychomycosis is the whitening or yellowing of the nail that causes the nail to crumble
or thicken at the edge as the fungus goes deeper into the nail. Nail fungus may also cause discoloration
and can either occur in the finger or toe nails. Once a fungus is identified, it is recommended that nail
fungus treatment be administered immediately. If the fungus is caught in the early stages, home
remedies and over the counter drugs can be used; however, if the fungus is a prolonged condition,
more drastic measures will need to be taken and surgery may be your only solution.
Types of nail fungus
To determine the best nail fungus treatment for your condition, it is good to know the different types
of nail fungus in order for you to know what you need to treat. Some infections of the ... Show more

Prescribed nail polish
A specific nail polish that is prescribed for fingernail fungus treatment and toenail fungus treatment is
known as ciclopirox. This treatment is applied similarly to medicated creams; however, it is painted on
to the nails and applied just as you do regular nail polish. It is applied once a day directly to the nail
and infected areas. This is done for seven consecutive days and should be wiped clean with alcohol on
the seventh day and a new application process begins for seven more days; a cycle which must be
continued for the course prescribed by your doctors. This treatment may continue for up to one year.
Surgical options
If your infection has gotten to be so severe where other treatment options cannot cure it, your doctor
may recommend that you have a surgical procedure or other invasive procedures to combat the issue.
These procedures may be either in the form of nail a removal surgery, light base or laser

American Family Traditions
Holidays Another way that older generations pass down elements of the Korean culture is through
holiday traditions. For the most part, the interviewees listed the typical American holidays that their
families celebrate, including Christmas and Thanksgiving. It was evident that some American holidays
were less emphasized, such as Independence Day and Halloween. Julie expressed that the lack of
observance of some American customs exemplifies her parent s transmission of Korean culture. For
example, because Halloween is not a Korean holiday, Julie and her siblings never dressed up or went

uncles and grandparents of course. We re supposed to memorize something in Korean to say to them.
After we do that, they say something back to us and give us cash or give the younger kids candy or a
small gift. I d say it s the most formal or traditional thing that we do with our whole family. It s pretty
cool. (Interview Ray November 10, 2015)
Although it is not a consistent annual tradition in his family, Daniel expressed that he is familiar with
this ritual and has done it before due to its prevalence in the Korean American community (Interview
Daniel November 14, 2015). It is no surprise that this tradition is one of the more popular among
Korean Americans because it is consistent with the Korean and Confucian values of respecting elders

Pope Boniface Viii s Challenges To The King
Pope Boniface VIII s Challenges to the Kingship of Philip s
Pope Boniface VIII wrote the bulls, Clericis Laicos in 1296 and Unam Sanctam in 1302, to affirm and
perform the papal supremacy over his ecclesiastical persons and the kings, Philip IV of France and
Edward I of England. Both bulls consist of the decrees that restrain the rulers from enforcing their
derogatory authority over Christians: one forbids prelates and churchmen to pay the tax that laymen
heavily imposed on them: the latter one demands suspected clergies under the papal jurisdiction,
furthermore insisting the pope s total authority over his churchmen in France. Philip had knocked off
Clericis Laicos by depriving Boniface of a major revenue source, yet the pope again threw down the
gauntlet against the rulers with the new threat of excommunication. Although both bulls indicate the

According to Clericis Laicos , Boniface criticized and opposed to Philip for his unethical scheme to
take over the churchmen s possession to continue his dishonest war with England. Since Philip needed
a tremendous amount of money to prepare for the war, he overtaxed his people including clergies
without any exception. However, Boniface considered Philip s preparation of the war as a plot to
pursue his power over the church s possessions. Therefore, he denounced the king s overtaxation on
the churchmen as though he suspected the king of striving to subject the churchmen to slavery and
bring them under his control. (Robinson) However, Boniface mildly reacted to the heavy taxation on
the clergies in which he merely forbade them to pay their tax rather than directly objecting to the king.
With indignation toward Boniface s reaction, Philip threatened to jolt Apostolic Palace in an
economical way. Therefore, it was inevitable for him to withdraw his hand from Clericis

Essay on Electronic Supervision
Electronic Supervision
Nowadays, there is no more need to speak with a low voice when doing a private call in order to avoid
your colleagues from hearing what you say, as anyway, your telephone conversation could be
recorded. It is really easy, as well, for a company to be able to see where you are in the company and
when, using electronic bagging systems each time you enter an office or a new part of the building or
even simpler, using video recordings. Your computer files are never 100% safe if they are saved on a
server. Your emails and internet access can be checked anytime, without any problem. All those new
supervising tools have a name : Electronic Supervision. But how far can they go without interfering

But if this way of communicating is making our life easier, not having to send letter or faxes each
time, it doesn t guarantee a full confidentiality. There is nothing easiest, for a company, to read emails
sent via its server. If a password allow a limited access to your email box on your PC, the message
content itself is stored on the company server and is easily accessible there. And that s the same for
email being received.
It is, as well, really simple for a firm to check your internet surfing provided your company has a
firewall and a checking access tool (which is the case for 95% of companies). Your employer is able to
check what site you visited, how much time you spent on those or even what you bought . It is not
really complicated, don t you think ?
But what are the firm s main reasons for such a supervision of emails and internet ? In fact, main
concerns are the following :
access to pornographic material
time spent without working
sexual harasment
viruses risks
transfer of confidential information.
Those concerns are partly justified, because an employee s defective attitude with respect to the above
mentioned, could lead to a legal liability for the company.
Electronic supervision in numbers
In 2001, in the United States, 46.5% of firms were storing and reviewing email messaging while
62.8% were

Why did Pizarro succeed? On November 16, 1532 Francisco Pizarro conquered over the Incan emperor Atahualpa. Spaniards massacre tens of thousands of Indians. At this time the use of steel swords were very beneficial, because the Spaniards had them where the Incans did not. I believe that the victory of this invasion was based off of the more advanced ethnic group, because the Spaniards had the more advanced weapons and technology. This victory is a shock to me, because the Spaniards were un aware of the terrain and the Incans has the home field advantage. The reason Pizarro succeeded was he had originally gained the trust of Atahualpa and then captured him and used his advanced weaponry to conquer the Incans Chapter 4: Farmer Power Write a paragraph explaining the chart. • 4. Examples Of Affective Commitment a. Affective commitment (meyer and allen 1997) Affective commitment measures the level of attachment and affection that an individual has with the company. Employees sometimes get emotionally attached to their company and this can be due to several reasons for example, good internal relations, good atmosphere, friendly environment and peer motivation (Van Knippenberg Sleebos, 2006). When an employee gets attention and prominent identity in a company, he/she gets associated to it by heart and then it becomes a reason for them to stay in the company and not leave their jobs. This dimensions tells that an employee will not leave the job in organization because he do not want to leave it. So this is the congruence between organizational goals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Employees under this category think that they have to be in this organization because they should be (Meyer Parfyonova, 2010). This dimension links the employees moral and ethical attitude towards the organization. They consider it as an obligation to be loyal to their company if the company is doing something good for them (Gellatly, Meyer, Luchak, 2006). These kind of employees remain loyal to the company as they think their company is providing them with benefits and meeting their needs so they should be loyal to their company in anyway. It shows that this type of employees stay in organization even if they are not completely satisfied with their jobs or even if they get better opportunities they will stick to their company (Gellatly et al., 2006). Employees with this mind think they should consider their place as priority based on several factors, for example, they think that the company has paid a lot of money on their training so they should not waste this effort of the organization and pay it back with their loyalty and commitment. So this dimension links the social and moral duty of individuals with their company s goals (Powell Meyer, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Move Of Wrestling Essay So in wrestling there are multiple moves you can do. These moves are probably the most basic moves you are taught and the most commonly used moves done today. The first move is the double leg takedown. The double leg takedown is a flying tackle similar to a football tackle (Douglas). For a double leg takedown there are a lot of little steps that you may need to execute this move correctly. The first thing you need to do is perform a setup and then to perform a penetration step. The next thing you are gonna wanna do is to place your head on either side of your opponent. Next you are going to want to push your chest up against your opponent s thighs and hips. The less space you have the better control you will have over your opponents strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Typically, the lower part of the leg is pulled in one direction, while the torso or shoulder is used to press the body or upper part of the leg of the opponent in the other direction. Another great takedown is the duck under. In a duck under, the wrestler pulls the opponent s elbow forward and away from the body, lowers his own head, and ducks under the opponent s arm in an effort to get behind or at least beside the opponent; from this position the opponent can be taken down by lifting and throwing or by a leg trip. Then for the best and most used move everyone uses in wrestling, the half nelson. The half nelson is referred to by most coaches as being the easiest, but most effective move in folkstyle wrestling (Wrestling Moves). It involves you using only one hand, by passing it under the arm of the opponent and locking the hand on the opponent s neck. Then you will run him over until his back is fully on the mat. Then you will want to get chest to chest to make sure that he can t get out of it. You will hold it there until he is pinned or until you get your nearfall points. So there are a lot of wrestling moves to know about, but in order to be good at these moves, you must choose to eat healthy so you can execute these moves ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Substantially Likely Factor Essay The Substantially Likely Factor The government has failed to demonstrate that the forced medication of Mr. Whitman against his will, is substantially likely to render him competent to stand trial. To protect the liberty interests of defendants who are initially too ill to stand trial, the Supreme Court implemented the four pronged Sell Test. Per the holding of Sell, in order to physically subdue and forcibly medicate a sick defendant who has not consented to treatment, the government must demonstrate by presenting clear and convincing evidence, that such treatment is substantially likely to make the sick defendant well enough to stand trial. The court found that the fourteen year old Herbel study was inherently flawed due to its design and did not justify the forced medication of the defendant because the information provided about its subjects was neither similar enough nor specific enough to the situation of the defendant at hand. Id. at 426. Similarly, the court faulted the government s reliance on the personal experiences of the witness because the information provided regarding his patients was not specific enough to the defendant s situation. In particular, the testimony did not indicate that the previously treated patients had delusions that were meaningfully similar in nature and persistence to those of the defendants. The War Of The Aesir And The Vanir Jordan Root Ms.Takash Mythology 3rd Hour April 4th, 2016 The War of the Aesir and the Vanir In Norse mythology, gods and goddesses usually belong to one of two tribes: the Aesir and the Vanir. Throughout most of the Norse tales, deities from the two tribes get along fairly easily, and it s hard to pin down firm distinctions between the two groups. But there was a time when that wasn t the case. The War of the Gods The Vanir goddess Freya was always the foremost practitioner of the art of seidr, a form of magic principally concerned with discerning and altering the course of destiny. Like historical seidr practitioners, she wandered from town to town plying her craft for hire. Under the name Heiðr ( Bright ), she eventually came to Asgard, the home of the Aesir. The Aesir were quite taken by her powers and zealously sought her services. But soon they realized that their values of honor, kin loyalty, and obedience to the law were being pushed aside by the selfish desires they sought to fulfill with the witch s magic. Blaming Freya for their own shortcomings, the Aesir called her Gullveig ( Gold greed ) and attempted to murder her. Three times they tried to burn her, and three times she was reborn from the ashes. Because of this, the Aesir and Vanir came to hate and fear one another, and these hostilities erupted into war. The Aesir fought by the rules of plain combat, with weapons and brute force, while the Vanir used the subtler means of magic. The war went on for some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The organisms falling under the eukaryotic kingdom of Plantae are known to have arisen in the same time period as those in the eukaryotic kingdom of Animalia the Paleozoic era, about 500 million years ago (MYA) (Raven et al., 2008). Despite their chronological resemblance, their evolutionary diversity is especially great in their most advanced organisms humans and seed plants. One key system that illustrates this diversity is the vascular system (or the cardiovascular system in humans). The vascular system of the respective lines of ... While xylem transports water and nutrients that generally originate at the roots, phloem transports food (in the form of sugars), hormones, and mRNA which generally originate in the leaf of the plant. Additionally, while water is moved through passive transport, food requires energy to be driven throughout the length of the root and shoot, and is thus carried through active transport. Food transport is said to go from a source (where it is made) to a sink (where it is needed) (Vaucher, 2003). Humans use a more intricate network of systems to keep the internal body conditions moist and nourished. The cardiovascular system is the primary network of tubules responsible for molecular transport. Humans extract nutrients, vitamins, and other vital compounds from food in the gastrointestinal tract; extraction of minerals, vitamins, blood, and vital compounds from liquids is done primarily in the glomerulus of the kidney (Raven et al., 2008). Once the necessary molecules are in the blood stream, the cardiovascular system delivers it to the desired tissue through diffusion. The cardiovascular system of humans uses the heart to circulate blood throughout the body. The human heart is composed of four chambers; the left atrium and left ventricle transport oxygenated blood from the heart to the rest of the body, incoming deoxygenated blood filters from the superior and inferior vena cava to right atrium and ... • 15. Birth Control On Culture And Society Birth control is a huge issue in our social world. Through the many perspectives birth control can connect individuals with society. There is a whole culture set around birth control, the media affects an individual s thoughts, and conflict theory can also affect people s views on contraception. Culture and society have many factors from a social perspective. They consist of objectives, beliefs, behaviors, and any other common traits between a group of people. Of course, culture is not fixed. People are free to choose and change their minds as time passes by. American culture from today is vastly different from 100 years ago. Some of the changes are due to the advancement of technology and new inventions. Birth control is one invention to have an effect on culture. Many people condemn the usage of any form of birth control. Birth control includes hormonal methods, barrier methods, and natural methods. A symbol of maturity can be seen in these methods of contraception. For example, for a teenager boy to receive a condom (barrier method) from his father before going on a date symbolizes the boy ending his childhood and entering adulthood. Also, the condom to the boy symbolizes the trust the father has given to his son. The father believes that his son will be responsible and fully trusts in him to make the right decision. Another way contraception can be a symbol is when a girl decides to use birth control pills. The usage of these pills symbolizes her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Step 2: Get Your Data (EXTRACT) This sounds a lot easier than it actually is. If you re more of a beginner, it s going to be the hardest obstacle in your way. Depending on your use there are typically more than 1 way to extract data. My personal preference is to use Python, which is a scripting programming language. It is very strong, and it is used heavily in the analytic world. There is a Python distribution called Anaconda that already has a lot of tools and packages included that you will want for Data Analytics. Once you ve installed Anaconda, you ll need to download an IDE (integrated developer environment), which is separate from Anaconda itself, but is what interfaces with the programs itself and allows you to code. I recommend PyCharm. Once you ve downloaded all of the things necessary to extract data, you re going to have to actually extract it. Ultimately, you have to know what you re looking for in order to be able to search it and figure it out. There are a number of guides out there that will walk you more through the technicalities of this process. That is not my goal, my goal is to outline the steps necessary to analyze data. If the hospital creates an ineffective budget then the hospital will have to make tough decisions on holding off certain non vital services to veterans until the new fiscal year. If they create an ineffective budget and veterans services are delayed then some management may lose their jobs. In outlining a budget there are two phases that must be determined to create a budget, an operating phase and a financial phase. Developing a new operating budget starts with examining budgets from previous years and identifying what components are going to change, by how much and if any new components need to be added or existing ones reduced or cut (Budget Challenges, 2012). In the first phase of the budget it needs to be determined how much money is going to be needed to operate the day to day activities of the business. Since, the company that I work for is a federally funded facility it looks differently than a company that would be creating a budget on estimates of sales revenue. • 18. Summary Of The RevolutionaryAnd Sergei Eisenstein sStrike What does it mean for something to be revolutionary? By definition, something revolutionary has to be involving or causing a complete or dramatic change . But the line for where a dramatic change starts and ends is often times hard to determine. The first films were shown to public audiences in the late 1890 s by the French Lumière brothers. Yet the idea of a cinema as we now know it was only just beginning to take shape during the first quarter of the 20th century. It is in this context that we are to view Evgeny Bauer s The Revolutionary (1917) and Sergei Eisenstein s Strike (1925). Both of these films utilize several interesting artistic choices and convey their stories well to the audience yet for in order for a film to be truly revolutionary, it has to convey a bold message along with a unique performance. While Bauer s film left me with a greater appreciation of early cinema as an art form I think that Sergei Eisenstein s Strike is the truly revolutionary film. While Bauer s The Revolutionary is a story about a revolutionary who after returning back from Siberia to a democratic Russia is determined to fight FOR the new government, we see that Strike is the riveting tale of how the death of a factory worker serves as the rallying call for the workers to unite in a strike against the corrupt managers and government that oppresses them. In this regard we see that Strike has a much more bold and riveting tale, there is also no happy ending in the film as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. John Calvin on God s Divine Providence Essay John Calvin on God s Divine Providence In John Calvin s Institutes of the Christian Religion he spends a great deal of time expounding his doctrine of God s Divine providence in all of creation. He explains not only how God continually governs the laws of nature, but also how God governs man s actions and intentions to bring about His own Divine Will. Calvin believes that God s providence is so encompassing in creation that even a man s own actions, in many ways, are decreed by God. Because of this belief there arises the question, Does Calvin leave room for the free will of man? At the outset I must make clear that Calvin defines Providence as this: providence means not that by which God idly observes from heaven what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He believes that God s act of creation did not stop after He created man, but continues all throughout the past, present and future. Calvin not only believes that God cares for all of man and animals, but directs the weather and excersises His power over inanimate objects. Calvin even goes so far as to argue that the movement of the sun, moon, stars, and planets is continued by God s power and not by some energy that was given to them at the beginning of creation, which carnal sense would tell us (Calvin 197). He does not believe that God sits back and watches or allows things in nature to happen, but actually causes them to happen. For example, if there was a drought one summer it was caused by God, possibly part of His vengeance or wrath. Or, if the crops flourished the next summer it was also His plan. Likewise, let us say per chance (no pun intended) a man is walking along a mountain pass and some rocks fall and kill him. For Calvin this was not an accident, but a determination and the Will of God. Calvin s ideology of God s Providence in nature is summed up in this quote: And truly God claims, and would have us grant him, omnipotence not the empty, idle, and almost unconscious sort that the Sophists imagine, but a watchful, effective, active sort, engaged in ceaseless activity. Not, indeed, an omnipotence that is only a general principle of confused motion, as if he were to command a river to flow through its once appointed channels, but one that ... True to the style of Anderson movies, The Grand Budapest Hotel is filled with gorgeous color schemes, witty lines, impeccable scoring, and perfectly symmetrical frames. We even get glimpses of the usual crew that act in the Anderson franchise, including Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson, and Bill Murray. Shot in a 1930 s style movie frame, the story starts out on a snowy white scene in a small European town. A girl walks to a memorial of a man, sits down by his statue and opens up a book. A voice over then begins, as well as the main story, which is composed in a flashback recounted by an author (Tom Wilkinson). The flashback depicts the author traveling to The Grand Budapest Hotel in hopes of curing his writer s block. There, in the slow crumbling of the hotel, he meets M. • 25. Racial Barriers In Baseball Introduction Over the first few decades after the breaking of the racial barrier in baseball by Jackie Robinson the number of African American in professional baseball stayed on a rise, unfortunately the numbers over the most recent decades have been going the opposite direction. The color barrier was broken in Major League Baseball (MLB) by Robinson on April 15, 1947 when he was called to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson broke way for African Americans in baseball and they took advantage of it as the number increased every year after. The purpose of this study is to find out why the percentage of African Americans playing in the MLB has been on a steady decline the past few decades. This percentage is dropping every year and there does not seem to be much of a change in the future. While the numbers of African American professionals are much higher in football and basketball and not at risk of dropping soon, what is it that is making baseballs number slowly diminish. In this research I will examine numbers that have been put together and analyze interviews that were performed with some professionals as well as highly accredited sports journalist. Although I will focus on professional baseball I will also provide some insight on youth baseball to see what the future may hold as far as the possibility of another increase in the percentage of African Americans in the pros. As the years gone on there has also been an increase in latin baseball players throughout professional baseball, as well as a decrease in whites. Some questions regarding the topic are what is causing the decline in the percentage? What initiative is being taken by Major League Baseball to help try to increase the percentages? What is significant about baseball compared to other sports (football, basketball) that makes them different and less attractive to African American youth? Literature Review In all articles read all journalist mentions the same thing. One major contributor to the decline in African Americans in baseball is because of the cost to be good. Both bulls consist of the decrees that restrain the rulers from enforcing their derogatory authority over Christians: one forbids prelates and churchmen to pay the tax that laymen heavily imposed on them: the latter one demands suspected clergies under the papal jurisdiction, furthermore insisting the pope s total authority over his churchmen in France.
