Funny Satire Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Funny Satire Essays" can be both challenging and entertaining.
On one hand, crafting humor requires a deep understanding of the subject matter and a keen
sense of wit to effectively satirize societal norms, behaviors, or issues. On the other hand,
maintaining a balance between humor and substance is crucial to ensure the satire is not only
amusing but also thought-provoking.
To start, one must thoroughly research the chosen topic to identify ripe targets for satire. This
involves analyzing various aspects of society, culture, politics, or any other relevant domain, and
pinpointing absurdities or contradictions worthy of satirical treatment. Once these targets are
identified, the challenge lies in creatively exaggerating or distorting them in a humorous manner
without veering into offensiveness or insensitivity.
Furthermore, crafting a coherent narrative structure is essential to effectively convey the satirical
message. This involves devising a compelling storyline or argument that seamlessly integrates
comedic elements with insightful commentary. Balancing the tone is critical; while the primary
aim is to entertain, the underlying satire should still convey a meaningful critique of the subject
matter.
Additionally, employing literary devices such as irony, hyperbole, sarcasm, and parody can
enhance the comedic impact of the essay. However, wielding these tools requires finesse and
precision to ensure they contribute to the overall satire rather than detract from it.
In conclusion, writing a funny satire essay requires a delicate balance of humor, wit, and
substance. It demands a deep understanding of the subject matter, creative storytelling skills, and
a keen eye for comedic opportunities. While challenging, mastering the art of satire can result in
essays that not only entertain but also provoke critical reflection on societal issues.

In chapter 2 self realization on page 117 Krishna states, You were never born; you
will never die. You have never changed. Our soul is a constant energy. Energy can
neither be created nor destroyed. Krishna is saying that your soul will not die when
your body that is in dies. Often when someone passes you still have this notion that

Our bodies give us our human looks but our souls are what gives us personality
gives us what makes us who we are. Krishna goes onto say in chapter 2 on page

For the sake of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, American citizens crumple up
their own desires and follow laws such as the speed limit and paying taxes. These
laws are given by the government, created by citizens to protect all residences.
After all, you would give up a few priorities for the name of common good too,
right? But there is a borderline between what you should give up and shouldn t give
up. For example, privacy rights. In most cases, people would claim that they have
nothing to hide, but the definition of privacy is not covering the atrocious. Privacy is

Having children comes as natural as eating; being a good parent comes only with a
little work and effort. So many times in our society we see examples of bad
parenting. No child is born with a how to manual and this is why the whole family
needs to be involved in the child s life. There use to be an old saying It takes a
community to raise a child , but to many times it is the community that has became
the most dangerous to the child. Doing my research for this paper I have found
numerous resources available to parents to help them along the way. This paper will

Children cannot develop a moral compass unless people around them use the clear,
sharp language of right and wrong. I agree with this totally. Never should anyone
have cause to curse at their children. I have always told my children cursing is a
sign of poor communication skills. I have never spoken to my children like a
baby. Speak to your children like people and they will develop a vocabulary like a
person should, provide them with a dictionary so they can look up words they did
not understand during the conversation or allow them to ask during the conversation.
Following this as developed its own problems in life; all my children have had issues

will ignore these limits on occasion. Reasonable punishment is one of the ways
human beings have always learned. Children must understand what punishment is
for and know that its source is parental love. I agree with this statement in it s
entirely. In today s society government has made it a bad thing for children to be
punished. I think a tap on the bottom is fine when they are young to teach them right
from wrong. I have never seen a reason to raise the voice. Take the child into a room

Concepts, Theories and Unknowns Aspects of Magnetism
Magnetism has long been one of the great mysteries of the world. It has gone for so
long unexplained and although there has been a lot of progress in figuring out how
magnetism works and what it s caused by, it still isn t completely understood. There
are many theories about magnetism, but there is still much more yet to be discovered
about magnetism. In the future it will probably be easily understood, but none the
less intriguing.
Magnets have intrigued people for a long time; they were discovered long ago.
Certain rocks and ores of iron called lodestones were found. These lodestones which
were naturally magnetic rocks made of the mineral magnetite, were so mysterious to

Lucretius (99 55 BC), a roman poet and philosopher, was one of the first to observe
that a loadstone or magnet stone could both attract and repel other magnets. For about
thirteen hundred years after Lucretius, scholars insisted that certain magnets
possessed the property of attraction while others possessed the property of repulsion.
To their minds, it did not seem possible that the same magnet could both attract and
repel other magnets. Gradually it became evident that the two ends, or poles of a
magnet are unlike in certain respects. Roger Bacon (1210 1294), an English
philosopher and scientist pointed out that magnets could repel as well as attract other
magnets.
In 1600, William Gilbert, an English doctor, proposed that the earth was like a giant
magnet. He had been experimenting with round pieces of magnetite and magnetized
needles when he realized that the magnetite was attracting the needles in a way
similar to the earth s attraction of a compass needle. William Gilbert was also the
first to call the ends of the magnets poles.
William Gilbert s idea that the earth is a giant magnet turned out to be basically true.
The earth is thought to obtain its magnetism from electricity made by molten iron and
nickel sliding around inside it. The Earth s magnetism is centered at an area in
northeastern Canada by the North Pole (another center is by the South Pole). The
needle of a compass points not to the top of the earth but to the magnetic north pole
Huckleberry Finn Freedom
Freedom takes on a different perspective for each of the characters in Mark Twain s
novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The story describes the journey of a
young mischievous boy, Huck Finn, and Jim, a runaway slave, as they travel along
the Mississippi River in hopes of gaining the freedom that they each had envisioned
for themselves. Mark Twaincreates a social critique by contrasting the idea of
freedom against slavery, civilization and other social norms. Huck s escape is a
flight from the civilized world where, in his ideal world, he would be free of petty
values and his violent father; whereas Jim is escaping from the physical clutches of
slavery. Although not a slave like Jim, Huck nevertheless feels trapped by the
restrictions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the story continues, he begins to yearn for concrete freedom from slavery. He
realizes that once he is free of bondage, he has the natural right to be allowed to
return to his wife and children. When free, he plans to work and save money in
order to buy his wife and two children out of slavery. Huck describes Jim as being
enthusiastic to gain his freedom, as he explains, Jim was fidgeting up and down
past me. We neither of us could keep still. Every time he danced around and says,
Dah s Cairo! (Twain 99). For Jim, freedom meant a physical escape from slavery;
he would be released from the chains of society. During his journey, young Huck
and Jim wander and discover diverse freedoms in the natural world. Their raft on
the river and Jackson s Island are places where Jim, as well as Huck, is free to be
himself and is not obligated to follow the norms of society. When the two of them
are floating on their raft down the Mississippi, they feel truly happy for the first time
in their lives. Nature provides them both with a haven from conformed society.

Dubliners By James Joyce
Dubliners, is a book in which James Joyce takes his readers back to early 20th
century Dublin. Joyce s collection of short stories portrays his homeland, Ireland,
at a time of stagnation and the beginning of the Irish Nationalist Movements, which
sought independence from Great Britain. With such dependence, Ireland and its
citizens lives could not move forward and to enliven this condition in his book
Joyce use three great concepts. In the first short story Joyce mentions the words
gnomon, simony, and paralysis, and by doing so he foreshadows the themes of
every story and how they are a close description of Dublin at that time. Joyce use
the concept of gnomon to typify incompleteness, disconnection, and being in the
shadow of someone or something, which is a important theme in his book about
the empty and incomplete lives of the Irish. Before meeting the odd old man, the
boys decided to skip school and go looking for adventures like in the Wild West,
and the narrator tells: But when the restraining influence of the school was at a
distance I began to hunger again for wild sensations, for the escape which those
chronicles of disorder alone seemed to offer me. The mimic warfare of the evening
became at last as wearisome to me as the routine of school in the morning because I
wanted real adventures to happen to myself. But real adventures, I reflected, do not
happen to people who remain at home: they must be sought abroad. ( An Encounter

Aspects Of Education Voucher Programs
International experiences of education vouchers implementation and outcomes
Chile
The education voucher system was introduced in Chile in 1980, as part of an overall
government free market package introduction. This approach included fully
subsidised, privately run and unregulated voucher schools introduced within the
system. These schools could ultimately compete with municipality run public schools
in all middle class and low income metropolitan neighborhoods.
Evidence on the outcomes of the voucher program indicated there was some
significant social and economic issues resulting. Firstly, total spending on education
(including parental contributions) fell. In 1985, the federal contribution was 80% of
total educational spending, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It has been reported that the effects after 3 years of operation, lottery (voucher)
winners generally had better educational outcomes than losers. Although, schooling
completion rates were not significantly increased with voucher holders only one tenth
more likely to remain in school
The voucher system in Colombia was discontinued from 1998 with the current
government of the time indicating there was no measure of effectiveness of the
program.
Sweden
Sweden introduced a system of school vouchers in 1992 across both primary and
secondary schools. The vouchers provided free choice for families to send their
children to publicly or privately run schools. Public funding from each municipality
was then directed to schools based on their numbers of students. Sweden s voucher
policy allowed more accessibility of students to independently run private schools.
Since introduction, however, Carnoy indicates the original Swedish voucher model
was replaced by direct subsidies regulated by municipalities.
While the voucher system was introduced to improve school quality and enhanced
social equity, it is not clear that these outcomes have been achieved. While there is no
direct evidence that links the move of student to privately run schools with a fall in
educational outcomes; it is clear that overall Swedish international education test
scores have fallen since 2000 in the PISA test .
Hong Kong
Hong Kong introduced an early childhood education voucher system (the

b) I think investors consider the risk as a whole rather than by each. Nevertheless, if
a big part of a portfolio is made up of a risky stock, it would make the portfolio more
risky as a whole.
c) Total risk is made by Diversifiable (company specific) risk and market (non
diversifiable) risk. Unique events to a particular firm cause the diversifiable risk
while factors that affect all companies cause the market risk. The difference between
diversifiable and market risk is that diversifiable risk can be reduced by diversifying
whereas market risk can not be eliminated.
d) No, because the market compensates risk diversification if you don t diversify is
your fault and you should be willing to accept the risk. 7.

Set in the late 19th and early 21th century, Looking Backwards is a utopian novel
discussing the advantages of socialism, a political philosophy that many disenchanted
intellectuals of the 19th century believed in. Edward Bellamy, the author, is included
in that class ofintellectuals. By being transported to the modern day, Julian West, the
protagonist, is able to contrast the two societies he has lived in: the capitalistic 19th
centuryand the utopian, socialist 20th century. Julian West, a member of the

members. He doesn t have to work much at all, and he is due to be married to Boston

Dumbfounded, Julian thinks his friends are playing a joke on him, but Dr. Leete,
one the strangers, confirms that he is really in 2000. To convince Julian, Dr. Leete
shows him a glimpse of modern day Boston. Mr. West is amazed at the grandiosity
and cleanliness of the new Boston. Wondering how modern day Boston came to be,
Julian asks Dr. Leete why, and he explains that the government has consolidated all
industries into one industrial army. With the consolidation, social harmony and
equality ensued. The reason for the momentous change in society was that, They
[19th century poor] believed that the great corporations were preparing for them
the yoke of a baser servitude than had ever been imposed on the race, servitude not
to men but to soulless machines incapable of any motive but insatiable greed. (Page
30/180) Bellamy emphasizes that the change was a rational and rather simple
evolution in humankind. After this complete upheaval in the socio economic
systems of the United States, hunger and poverty were eliminated, efficiency in the
industrial system was maximised, and citizens were enabled to choose whatever
profession they so choose and earn the same amount of pay as their neighbour. Also,
Dr. Leete explains that money is no longer needed as it was a only a function of the
old, capitalist system. Instead, workers are given credit cards that have holes that can
be punched out of them. Once one is

an important role everyday and it is important that teachers should know that they are

Differentiation is all of these and more. As a student in the class I learned about the
different teaching philosophies, I learned what may fit me is it progressivism.
Teaching is a balance of science and artistry. Taking the information and creating
lessons to engage and impart knowledge to students who are reluctant learners and

Lady Liberty Research Paper
The Statue of Liberty, also known as Lady Liberty, for me is the most intriguing
part of New York City. It is a symbol of hope, freedom, and a better life in the
United States. It is widely known that Lady Liberty was the first thing immigrants
saw when they came to America, this architectural structure was a symbol of hope
and freedom. What intrigues me the most is, Why would France just give us a an
expensive copper statue? I never understood this until right now, everyone knows
what she symbolizes, she is the Statue of Liberty. The word liberty is related to the
word liberated , which means to free. For example, U.S. soldiers helped liberate
Jews from the concentration camps in Germany after World War 2. The statue was
given to us to represent freedom, the concept on which our great country was born
on. Not just any freedom, a true freedom, a freedom in which we are not
subservient to a king. In a sense, we are being liberated from being servants to the
kingdom. It is our country and we want to protect and defend it because we are
fighting for a cause, not just some person who wears a crown because of the family

To understand this you need to go back in history to the 1790 s when France was
fighting there Revolutionary War. They followed the ways of the United Statesby
starting the French Revolution in the kingdom of France. The bourgeois or middle
class believed the citizens should have a part in the politics of their country and
should not be run by a few aristocrats. France wanted true freedom like the U.S.A.,
they wanted to be liberated from there kings like us. The Statue of Liberty represents
that freedom. The U.S. was the first major country to become independent
successfully and re imagine politics, this led the French to do the same, which led to

Sir Issac Newton s Life
Sir Issac Newton was an English physicist and mathematician. He is considered by
the world as one of the most influential scientists ever. He was born on Christmas
Day in 1642. He never knew his father since he had died before Newton was born.
As a young man, his mother tried to get him to go into farming but he hated it.
Newton convinced his mother to let him go back to school and he became the great
scientist that everyone knows about today. In 1687, he published a work called
Philosphiae Naturails Principia Mathematica which is where the world first was able
to read about the laws of motion that he discovered and explained. These three
physical laws would lay the foundation for classical mechanics. They describe the
relationship between a body and the forces acting upon it, and its motion in response
to those forces.
The first law states that when viewed in a inertial reference frame, an object either
remains at rest or continues to move at a constant velocity, unless acted upon by an
external force. This is often referred to as the law of inertia. What Newton means is
that there is a natural tendency for objects to keep doing what they are doing. An
object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion
until the object is affected by something outside of it. This is inertia. There is no
way to measure inertia but you can compare it. You can compare mass and
momentum to get an idea of the inertia of an object. This law wasn t
Pros And Cons Of Discrimination In Italy
Sometimes and this is something that go against the human rights is the
discrimination, fans, well... bad fans discriminate players. In Europe, most in Italy
they discriminate the players that have a different color of skin, like for example

Discrimination, the discrimination should be sanctioned, but police and nobody do
nothing to protect the rights of this player, and this acts of discrimination occurs in
everywhere, in all the stadiums of Italy and in all stadiums of South America, this is
something serious and that people have to become aware.
Why? Because actually children suffered the same acts of discrimination, last year I
was in a match for the tournament of all the schools of Guayaquil and Samborondon
and before our game, was a match between a school that is for students of a lower
class and a school of high class and the school that was for high class and you expect

Sexism In Merchant Of Venice
William Shakespeare is often praised as the best playwright but does his works fall
victim of the patriarchal influence? In one of Shakespeare s famous works The
Merchant of Venice, there is sexism prevalent throughout these characters actions
and interactions. Shakespeare s writing may have been influenced by his era with
sexism influencing scenes like the trial and the lottery of the caskets. The first thing
one should consider while analyzing Shakespeare s writing is the social norms of his
time. As any writer most likely is Shakespeare s plays and other writings including
the work The Merchant of Veniceare influenced by the world he lives in. This is a
time where patriarchal views were the only ones heard. Although the female
characters in the play may have more agency Shakespeare writes these witty and
willed women to be submissive to these men. To give historical context the essay
Women According to Men: The World of Tudor Stuart Women by Suzanne W. Hull
put very well the existence of women in the Renaissanceera. When England was
ruled for half a century by Queens but women had almost no legal power; When
marriage, a womans main vocation, cost them their personal property rights; when
the ideal woman was rarely seen and never heard in public; when the clothes a
women wore were legally dictated by her social class; when almost all school
teachers were men; when medicine was prepared and purified at home; when
corsets were constructed of wood and cosmetics made of bacon and eggs; when
only half of all babies survived to adulthood? (Hull 15). As this passage illustrates
the role of women was a very scarce role. They were supposed to only be seen and
never heard. Women were expected to always be prim and proper. Upper class
women were able to speak their minds but their ideas and thoughts were shaped by
men. A woman could not do or think much without input given by men. A woman
was controlled by her father from the day she is born until the day she is married,
from which she would then be handed directly to a husband to control her in that
role. Women legally belonged to their husbands during the Renaissance. Women were
always expected to be to be devoted housewives. These ideas, although it may

My favourite scene with the 2 of them was near the end when there in concert
singing Ring of Fire . It s one of my favourite Johnny Cash songs and these 2
managed to convince me with this performance that they were actually John and
June. Without these 2 actors I don t think this movie would have been as remarkable
as they managed to make it.
One film that was very close to this one was last years highly famous, Ray . The
biography of blind musician ray Charles. Both are high profile motion pictures
about major recording stars who recently died (Cash passed away in 2003, four
months after the death of his wife, June Carter). The music the 2 of them play is
different, but there are very similar plot fundamentals, among which are drug use.
Walk the Line I think is a better film. It s put together with more style, and it never
seems to get boring, unlike Ray which near the end seems to drag on for a bit. Ray
had much more fantasy as opposed to Walk the Line which was all completely
based on Cash s own words. This movie also has a powerful plotline that Ray didn t,
a love story! To me, that s what made this film much better than Ray .
Overall I really enjoyed this movie; the only thing I want to complain about is the
lack of Bob Dylan. It is a known fact that Dylan single handedly revived Cash s
career, yet they only mention him a few times throughout the

Policy...
Is Harm Reduction a Desirable National Drug Control Policy Goal?
There are many differing viewpoints in the United States when dealing with drug
policy. Within the political arena, drug policy is a platform that many politicians base
their entire campaigns upon, thus showing its importance to our society in general.
Some of these modes within which drug policy is studied are in terms of harm
reduction, and supply reduction. When studying the harmful effects of drugs, we
must first to attempt to determine if drug abuse harms on an individual level of if it
is a major cause of many societal problems that we face today. In drawing a
preliminary conclusion to this question we are then able to outline the avenues of
approach in dealing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those that are opposed to harm reduction feel that its advocates are hypocrites that
call for tougher policies in dealing with alcohol and tobacco yet in the same breath
call for reductions in the penalties for illegal drug use. Opponents also believe that
initiating a harm reduction policy may in fact increase the use of illegal drugs as
well as the people that are seeking drug treatment. Robert J. MacCoun, is an
associate professor in the Graduate School of Public policy at the University of
California and author of Toward a Psychology of Harm Reduction. Professor
MacCoun also supports the movement towards a harm reduction approach to drugs.
He explains how the harm reduction movement emerged in Amsterdam in the 1980
s in response to mounting heath issues directly related to the use of drugs.
Professor MacCoun illustrates that harm reduction is not a program that has been
proven effective in the war on drugs, being constantly rejected as a viable option to
present drug enforcement policy by the United States government. Professor
MacCoun illustrates however that the policies that the U.S. presently has in place
has failed in its ability to eliminate drug use thus causing the major harms of drug
use in place. Professor MacCoun believes that many of the drug related problems we
have today are a result of poor legislation as well as the

Most of migrations from developing countries are those wealthy or skilled people,
whose leaving results in brain drain and slow development of home countries. This
contributes to a vicious circle for developing countries (low income countries). On the
other side, the advantaged social environment (rich opportunities, comparatively good
political system, developed economy, better living conditions, etc) in developed
countries attract talents from other areas, which contribute to brain grain, and finally
forms a virtuous circle. * Concept and Magnitude of Brain Drain Migration of
people as a phenomenon differs from country to country and from time to time. It is
misleading to generalise about the possible effects of migration from LDCs. But even
more fundamentally, one can argue that different studies are measuring differing
things. All migrations cannot be justifiably brought within a single analytic umbrella,
though it has been so done in the contemporary literature on the subject. Migration
of HQM from LDCs may be due to several different sets of underlying social,
political and economic forces. The phenomenon of migration of high quality
manpower can justify the use of the expression on the term brain drain , but one has
to be cautious in using the expression drain indiscriminately. To replace drain by a
Lebron James And Kobe Bryant
When it comes to who is the best active basketball player, these two names come at
the top of the list, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. They come first not only
because they both started their career right after graduating from high school, but
they have achieved lot and been rewarded so many times base of their great
performance at young age. The two players are so great that many people are already
saying that they are better than Michael Jordan, The Greatest BasketballPlayer of All
Time . James and Bryant so great that basketball s fans have given them nicknames
because of their spectacular performance. Kobe Bryant is known as The Black
Mamba because of his aggressiveness, and ability to dominate his opponents every
time. On the other hand, LeBron James is also known as King James because he
also plays in a very aggressive way just like Bryant and in addition to that, King
James also has the ability to defeat his opponent and also able to defend any
basketball player and still dominates. Although both of these two players are super
stars however, only one of them can be title as the best player of their era and
because of that, comparing head to head is the only way to pick one as the best
active player.
Kobe Bryant has accomplished so much with his team and also individually. When
Bryant was the same age as LeBron James, He has won 5 championship rings, 2nd in

The American Dream Failure
What is truly the American Dream that people have been trying to achieve all these
years? Is it that Dream of making it big in America, where people hear the
successes stories from rags to riches or does it go beyond things like money,
expensive cars and houses. The American dream itself has no set definition to its
meaning, people can only assign what they think is the right term for it. For this
paper and research on the American DreamThe definition that I came up with is that
the achievement of the American Dream does not come from possessions but more
so from each person personal achievement of happiness while not interfering with
others achievement of happiness. While this definition of the American dream is
broad it is already not achievable.
Benefits Of Sharecropping
There were many ways that Reconstruction tried to benefit the freed men, but only
ended up making things worse. The practice of sharecropping was invented as a
way for blacks to receive an income, since they only knew how to work on a
plantation and were limited in job opportunities in the South.. Former slaves would
work on land rented from a landlord, which sometimes belonged to their former
masters. While these freedmen worked on the land, they received a share of the
crop that they had farmed. Sharecroppers needed necessities while doing this work,
such as food and clothing, so they had to borrow money from their landlords. This
would make it hard for blacks to save money for themselves as they were always in
debt from loans. Some say this
Transgender Speech
Many people do not understand what it is like to be transgender but choose to
speak over transgender people even when they say it is wrong and not how it is. If
people would just listen to trans people then there would be less issues. To help
people understand what is going on in this world for trans people I will explain
what is happening in today s world. I will show you some of the issues trans people
face in the public eye. Even with talking about all of theses different experiences
they are still not everyone s point of view and can not be taken as something every
trans person experiences. There are trans people who will never experience any of
this hate and others will only experience the hate and none of the good parts.
Transgender is a human who does not identify with the sex that they were assigned at

The thing that makes you transgender is if you self identify with being transgender
than you are transgender. There are many words at this moment that are used against
trans people and some of those words are tranny, transgendered, transexual, shemale,
and many others. These words are used against trans people to spread hate in this

A Research Study On Radio Frequency Identification
This short research paper describes how various industries around the world have
changed the way to do their inventories with the implementation of RFID (Radio
Frequency Identification) tags in their items. This is not only more efficient and
accurate, but also easier to use and faster than other methods. The RFIDtag has the
same function than a long established barcode administering an exclusive identifier
for each item. There are many applications of this fascinating technology in different
industries, such as laundries, car rental companies, farms, amusement parks,
healthcare management race timing or libraries. These innovative tags are being used

Nowadays, the RFID tracking system is widely used since the first patent of RFID in
19831.
The information stored in the tag will depend on its future application. Thus, there
are many useful applications of this technology.
II. Application in the laundry industry
RFID has been used in commercial laundries for several years to track high volume
of clothes from customers2. Nowadays, RFID tagging has arrived to hotels,
hospitals and different organizations in order to reduce the number of missing
items and increase the visibility in a quick an easy way at the time to find the
textiles due to the fact that when workers have to do the inventory is a very
difficult laborious system when especially when they have to read barcodes or
separate linens by type or size. Thus, RFID tags are the most efficient and
economical solution to solve the problem. The first RFID tag used in a commercial
laundry was created in 20102. Since that, companies have made a great progression in
their customer service, reduce the quantity of damage and stolen linen.
First of all, workers have to sew waterproof UHF RFID tags into each linen, such as:
towels, uniforms, sheets, etc. There will not be problems to use these tags in the
laundry to 550 wash cycles with high pressure, high temperature and chemicals.3

Supply Chain Management Of Supply Chains
Introduction
With the acceleration of global economic integration, the 21st century has become the
century of competition in the supply chain, not just a simple competition between
enterprises. In order to win the competition in the supply chain, which means it must
be through the management of the supply chain. Currently supply chains become
more integrated, more global, the high speed development of information technology
has become an important driving force. In this report will explore the development of
supply chain management technologies and important role.
Supply chain and technologies role
Supply chain is the logistic network among suppliers, manufacturing centers,
warehouses, distribution centers, retail and customers. It is about the flow and
inventory of raw materials, manufactured goods and fished goods. The core logistics
supply chain management is to satisfy customer needs. In order to meet requirements
it is necessary to minimize enterprises operating cost. It can make enterprises more
competitive, and is the key point of success supply chain management. However due
to the supply chain simultaneously connect suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and
even customers, is a complex network, each link have hidden many risks, is easily
affect the supply chain companies. Therefore, the use of the necessary control
measures to ensure the smooth operation of the supply chain become preconditions to
earn profit.
In order to achieve a success supply chain must to be

In order to hold their place as the dominant seller in their favored industries, W. L.
Gore Associates must choose between advancing as a technological pioneer or
cutting costs and becoming the lowest priced provider available. If they were to
pursue the first route, it may be to their advantage to expand their research and
development departments, as well as reorganize the way they market their products.
On the other hand, if W. L. Gore Associates felt that the more prudent course of action
would be to become the most competitively priced provider, the company would need
to seek out and reduce superfluous costs more efficiently. Throughout the history of
the company, W. L. Gore Associates has always worked as a single living and
constantly adapting unit. With its unique organizational structure, the company
functions more like a tight knit family than its corporate counterparts. In many ways
this has proven itself quite effective; for example, Bill Gore claimed that patent
applications and innovative products outputted by his company was triple that of Du
Pont, exemplifying the effects of the heightened levels of freedom and creativity in
the Gore workplace. In this system, employees are encouraged to perform their best,
as every employee shares the same general title, and are compensated based purely on
their performance. This also enables the most competent and eager employees to

Unfortunately, our present Drive Clean program only catches opacity (releasing

top of that, MOECC do require light duty vehicles registered in the program area to
be tested biennially, and all heavy duty vehicles registered in the province must be

The authors concluded that while increasing gastroenterology capacity is important
(i.e., capital and funding availability, plus searching the local labor market for
gastroenterology physicians, nurses, and physician assistants), it may not be as
beneficial as redirecting the focus on healthcare system process changes. Access
limitations may be due to suboptimal management of current capacity rather than
inadequate levels of capacity (Powell et al., 2009). As the largest healthcare system
in the world, the VHA cannot rely solely on hiring and training more
gastroenterology staff when process management is also in urgent need of
simultaneous, coordinated improvement. As a response to this colossal demand to
expand gastroenterology trained and credentialed providers to perform colonoscopy,
a small number of VHA facilities and gastroenterology departments sought new and
innovative ways to build provider and space capacity to mitigate this challenging,
unmet need. Dr. Jason Dominitz, National Program Director for Gastroenterology
Patient Care Services, reported there are at least a half dozen or more credentialed
nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) performing colonoscopy at
various VHA facilities. The non physician endoscopists have collectively provided
safe, quality driven procedural care and high patient satisfaction survey

Who Is Molly In Christina Baker Kline s Orphan Train
Christina Baker Kline s Orphan Train is about growing up, moving forward, and
coming to terms with the past. Told from the perspective of two orphans, Molly, in
the present day, helping Vivian clean out her attic, and Vivian, in the past as a young
orphan in Minnesota, the story unfolds. The alternating point of view every few
chapters between Molly, a present day seventeen year old, and Vivian, a young orphan
during the Great Depression, recounts both rough experiences in the foster care
system and the aftermath of dealing with so much past hardship. Molly, as a
teenager, and Vivian, as an elderly woman, are able to deal with their lingering
negative memories by sharing them and confiding in each other. However, despite
the ostensibly interesting plotline, the book is not that enjoyable. The book seemed

The book is predominantly written in Vivian s point of view, and, because Vivian
s point of view stretches out over the course of over twenty years, the reader gets to
see her grow from a terrified orphan into a humble adult. But because Molly s point
of view isn t as utilized as much and is only spread out over the course of a few
unexciting months of cleaning Vivian s attic and going to school, she hardly
matures. The only visible areas of growth are seen as Molly loses her Goth
appearance at the end of the novel and deals with her past, which is practically
nothing after witnessing Vivian grow into an old woman. At times it felt like Molly
was only there to help Vivian deal with past memories because Molly had little
purpose otherwise. In my opinion, I think the book would have been better if it was
only Vivian s story that was being told, as Molly s sections so uneventful that I found
myself dreading them when reading the

into the daily lives of a family that is torn apart due to their social environment. The
story takes place in a poverty stricken area called Rum Alley, which is located in
the Bowery. The protagonist Maggie Johnson and her brother Jimmie are shaped by
the society that they live in and the interactions they have. Maggie and Jimmie have
abusive, alcoholic parents who constantly berate their kids for no good reason,
resulting in Jimmie becoming an alcoholic and an abusive womanizer. Maggie was
also affected by her social environment, but not in the same way as Jimmie. She was

In the beginning of the novella, it seems as though Jimmie just naturally has a short
fuse and is ready to pick a fight at moments notice, but as the story progresses, the
reader comes to the realization that Jimmie s family is torn apart and fighting
constantly, affecting Jimmie in a very negative way. Even as a child, Jimmie was
found in the streets picking fights with other kids his age. As Jimmie was fighting,
his friends egged him on, saying, Smash im Jimmie, kick d face off im! (Crane 4).
He mirrors what he sees in the tenement building he calls home, as his mother resorts
to violence to enforce anything of her liking or to reprimand her children. Jimmie s
violent tendencies were not the only thing he picked up from his mother and father.
As Jimmie grows up, he starts getting involved with alcohol, increasing not only his
violent tendencies, but also increasing the number of flings he has, flirting and
seducing women all the time and leaving them heartbroken after a short period of
time, just like his father. Jimmie s behaviour and mannerisms are dictated based off
of his social environment, mainly his household, and it further emphasizes that
Jimmie s social environment strongly influences the way his life turns out and the
way he

Charlie has a better life without much intelligence because he has little recollection
The Ethical Consequences Of Eating Meat
Eating meat may be one of the oldest behaviors of mankind. However, it has been
proven humans do not need meat to survive. It has been proven vegetarians can live
an equal, if not better, healthy lifestyle compared to those who consume meat. Yet
Vegetarians, although they are becoming more accepted and common, are still seen
as a liberal niche. Meateating in society does not even give a second thought to most
people, but the ethicists and philosophers are asking: Is eating meat morally correct?
Of course there will be many opposing arguments from meat eaters (note that I
myself eat meat on an almost daily basis), stating, Who cares , Wild animals always

To eat meat, you must accept the fact you are behaving unethical, and come to terms
with your actions, if you are a Utilitarian. Spearheaded by Jeremy Bentham and John
Stuart Mill, the moral theory of Utilitarianism was founded upon the belief that we
should all make decisions that benefit society as a whole, not acting selfishly for
the sole benefit of ourselves. Utilitarianism focuses on the end results and the costs
and benefit those results yield. It is an ethical principle, which is intended to
maximize happiness for all parties affected by the decision. By using a cost benefit
analysis, or hedonic calculus, one can examine if a certain action is an ethical
behavior. This requires assigning a number value to all pains and pleasures and
calculating them to determine is the behavior is ethical. If there are more positives
than negatives, it seems according to Utilitarianism, that you should go ahead and
make the positive action. It can be applied to direct or indirect actions, only
dependent upon the final outcome. However, in the foundation of Utilitarianism, the
key words are all parties . This includes non human animals, sentient or not. In An
Introduction to the Principles of Morals and Legislation, Bentham states a now
famous line to animal rights activists, The question is not, Can they reason? Nor, can
they talk? But, can they suffer? . If animals incur pain
Marquez
The Solitude of Latin America
Gabriel Garcia Marquez was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982, fifteen
years after the publication of his book One Hundred Years of Solitude. His speech
accepting the Nobel Prize, lived up to his stature; a brilliant author and narrator
seamlessnessly blending the real with the unreal, the ordinary and the magical. The
speech offers glimpses into Marquez s thoughts pertaining to Latin America, to his
childhood and to humanity as a whole.
Marquez s speech, akin to all his other works is embedded in his native land of Latin
America, following the vicissitudes of life amongst the rampant corruption,
destruction and anarchism. The speech at its core is a political statement to the

The novel explores the issue of timelessness or eternity even within the framework of
mortal existence. A major trope with which it accomplishes this task is the alchemist
s laboratory in the Buendia family home. It is a place where the male Buendia
characters can indulge their will to solitude, whether through attempts to deconstruct
the world with reason as in the case of Jose Arcadio BuendГa, or by the endless
creation and destruction of golden fish as in the case of his son Colonel Aureliano
Buendia. Furthermore, a sense of inevitability prevails throughout the text. This is a
feeling that regardless of what way one looks at time, its encompassing nature is the
one truthful admission.
Latin America at the current juncture is akin to a blind man left to find his way
across the desert. The quest for a national identity is bloody, full of ups and downs.
Every country has its own unique epoch through history that marks its identity; Latin
America is yet to come across one. Marquez s chief complaint is the apathy exhibited
by the west towards steps taken by Latin America to render plausible its own social
aims. Agreed Latin America abounds with madness and obstinacy yet the only
sentiment echoed by the west has been that of sympathy and not support. This is the
crux of the Latin American Solitude, a solitude both geographic and ideological in its
nature. Solitude is the central theme of the novel and expressions through

Whether it is a young girl s favorite song on the radio, a college student s escape

radio, it may be a major part of someone else s life. Every month ravers unite as a
community that spread positivity and love around one another at raveparties while
they vibe and dance to electronic music from sunset to the early morning. In the
late fifties, rave was first used in Britain as a title for the wild bohemian parties
that occurred at the time. It was then briefly revived by the mods, a British youth
subculture of the early to mid 1960s, and did not return into the trend until the
illegal warehouse party scene in London in the early eighties. The crowd was
mixed, black and white, and it is likely that the term rave came from Jamaican
usage rather than a revival of any previous usage in Britain (Evans). The main goal
of these rave parties was to dance while listening to good soulful music . European
clubs that sponsored raves in the 1980s tried to limit the exposure of attendees to
the public and to law enforcement (NDIC, 2006). Raves were secretive, after hours,
private dance parties and were often held in clubs, abandoned warehouses, and
private homes or even underground where attendance was restricted to invitees or
friends of invitees. These locations were able to provide accommodation for the

Launching the Bmw Z3 Roadster
In the mid 1990 s, BMW decided to launch a new vehicle titled the BMW Z3
Roadster, its first car to be manufactured in North America. BMW wanted to
capitalize on the decline of the motorcycle market with a roadster sports car that was
targeted at driver excitement and emotional fantasy for drivers. The Z3 initiative
provided the important opportunity to increase market share and build a stronger
brand connection with Americans. Its success would influence how Americans
related to all BMWproducts moving forward, shaping overall brand strength across
market segments. The Z3 Roadster launch also needed to be done with the context of
BMW s redesigned 5 series and their role as the official international automotive
sponsor of the 1996... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our recommendation is to use an even combination of traditional and non traditional
marketing in the next phase. BMW should use traditional marketing such as T.V. and
print advertising to continue to promote their quality reputation that the Z3 was
born into. They should use the brand equity the Z3 is building in the U.S. as a
gateway for selling other models to Americans such as the redesigned 5 series. Non
traditional methods should remain a part of the mix to sustain the positive buzz
created in the first phase and compliment their Olympic sponsorship by utilizing the
excitement of the games. An example would be endorsements from popular
Olympians featuring the similar characteristics shared with world class athletes and
the Z3, such as speed and performance. They can also use non traditional methods
to maintain contact with consumers and put a positive spin on the lack of product
availability by running a contest to win a new Z3 when they arrived. In addition, an
increased global vision is needed for BWM to gain popularity worldwide and
increase global market share. The second phase should consider ways that the U.S. Z3
strategy can be incorporated into other markets in the future.
Today, BMW North America is currently looking for a new ad agency and is
focusing on TV and social media to promote new and redesigned vehicles. Their
marketing team reported in February that their budget break down would be 68%
for national TV, 8% for local TV, 15% for
Ischaemic Heart Diseases
Introduction and need of proposed system:
Now a days, due to change in lifestyle, the problem of heart disease has become
very common. Many people lose their lives since they are not familiar with the
reasons associated with the heart diseases. According to the fact sheet of WHO the
10 leading causes of death in the world during the year 2000 to 2012 where
Ischaemic heart disease, stroke, lower respiratory infections and chronic obstructive
lung disease have remained the top major killers during the past decade. Also it is
mentioned that 7.4 million deaths are due to Ischaemic heart disease which is at first
position of causes of death.
Now days when patients visit hospitals for nominal reason, they have to undergo
different tests suggested ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Level 1 tests include Blood Pressure, Heart rate/ pulse rate, ECG, Lipid Profile
(HDL, LDL, Triglycerides, and Total Cholesterol), Sodium, Potassium tests etc.
Level 2 tests include 2D/3D echo, Stress test, angina symptoms etc. Level 3
includes angiography. As a routine checkup, if patients perform level 1 tests, then
according to possibility of heart disease either next level test will be suggested or
some preventive measures will be given by the system. So our software will help
doctor to make proper diagnosis. This system will help doctor to think about next
treatment to be given. The patients can also refer to system by doing level 1 test as
routine activity and will decide whether to visit the doctor or

Preface In our data analysis we do some univariate analysis before proceeding to
models. In survival analysis it is highly recommended to look at the Kaplan Meier
curves for all the categorical predictors. This will provide insight into the shape of
the survival function for each group and give an idea of whether or not the groups
are proportional. We also consider the tests of equality across strata to explore
whether or not to include the predictor in the final model. For the categorical
variables such as marital, eservice, plusservice and totalservice we use the log rank
test of equality across strata which is a non parametric test. For the continuous
variables such as age, address, income, education, employment, and reside we use a...

Consequently we find the better model after dropping variables with the p values
more than 0.05. Model 5 is the best model which has all the significant variables
and has lowest AIC value of 1478.82 and BIC value of 1513.17. If the marital
status is altered from married to unmarried, while holding all other variables
constant, the rate of churn decreases by (100% 66.5%) = 33.5%. As year in current
address is increased by one year, all other variables are held constant, the rate of
churn decreases by (100% 94.5%) = 5.5%. As year with current employer is
increased by one year, all other variables are held constant, the rate of churn
decreases by (100% 93.2%) = 6.8%. As people switch from non eservice to e
service, all other variables are held constant, the churn rate decrease by (100%
56.5%) = 43.5%. As people switch from non plusservice to plusservice, all other
variables are held constant, the churn rate decrease by (100% 54.5%) = 45.5%. As
education level increases, all other variables are held constant, the churn rate
increases by 12.83%. Finally, I adjust my model for heteroscedasticity by using
robust function. The final adjusted model is presented below: Table 1: Final Model

Funny Satire Essays. 256 Satire Essay Topics amp; Satirical Essay Examples 2024

  • 1. Funny Satire Essays Writing an essay on the topic of "Funny Satire Essays" can be both challenging and entertaining. On one hand, crafting humor requires a deep understanding of the subject matter and a keen sense of wit to effectively satirize societal norms, behaviors, or issues. On the other hand, maintaining a balance between humor and substance is crucial to ensure the satire is not only amusing but also thought-provoking. To start, one must thoroughly research the chosen topic to identify ripe targets for satire. This involves analyzing various aspects of society, culture, politics, or any other relevant domain, and pinpointing absurdities or contradictions worthy of satirical treatment. Once these targets are identified, the challenge lies in creatively exaggerating or distorting them in a humorous manner without veering into offensiveness or insensitivity. Furthermore, crafting a coherent narrative structure is essential to effectively convey the satirical message. This involves devising a compelling storyline or argument that seamlessly integrates comedic elements with insightful commentary. Balancing the tone is critical; while the primary aim is to entertain, the underlying satire should still convey a meaningful critique of the subject matter. Additionally, employing literary devices such as irony, hyperbole, sarcasm, and parody can enhance the comedic impact of the essay. However, wielding these tools requires finesse and precision to ensure they contribute to the overall satire rather than detract from it. In conclusion, writing a funny satire essay requires a delicate balance of humor, wit, and substance. It demands a deep understanding of the subject matter, creative storytelling skills, and a keen eye for comedic opportunities. While challenging, mastering the art of satire can result in essays that not only entertain but also provoke critical reflection on societal issues. Our soul is a constant energy. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. Krishna is saying that your soul will not die when your body that is in dies. Often when someone passes you still have this notion that their soulis looking over you. Our bodies give us our human looks but our souls are what gives us personality gives us what makes us who we are. Krishna goes onto say in chapter 2 on page 117, As one abandons worn out clothes and acquires new ones, so when the body is worn out a new one is acquired by the Self, who lives within. I think Krishna is touching on the idea that when one body that a soul is in

Security Of Privacy Security for Liberty For the sake of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, American citizens crumple up their own desires and follow laws such as the speed limit and paying taxes. These laws are given by the government, created by citizens to protect all residences. After all, you would give up a few priorities for the name of common good too, right? But there is a borderline between what you should give up and shouldn t give up. For example, privacy rights. In most cases, people would claim that they have nothing to hide, but the definition of privacy is not covering the atrocious. So many times in our society we see examples of bad parenting. No child is born with a how to manual and this is why the whole family needs to be involved in the child s life. There use to be an old saying It takes a community to raise a child , but to many times it is the community that has became the most dangerous to the child. Children cannot develop a moral compass unless people around them use the clear, sharp language of right and wrong. I agree with this totally. Never should anyone have cause to curse at their children. I have always told my children cursing is a sign of poor communication skills. I have never spoken to my children like a baby. Speak to your children like people and they will develop a vocabulary like a person should, provide them with a dictionary so they can look up words they did not understand during the conversation or allow them to ask during the conversation. Today, punishmenthas a bad reputation. The results are guilt ridden parents and self indulgent, out of control children. Children need limits. They will ignore these limits on occasion. Reasonable punishment is one of the ways human beings have always learned. Children must understand what punishment is for and know that its source is parental love. I agree with this statement in it s entirely. In today s society government has made it a bad thing for children to be punished. It has gone for so long unexplained and although there has been a lot of progress in figuring out how magnetism works and what it s caused by, it still isn t completely understood. There are many theories about magnetism, but there is still much more yet to be discovered about magnetism. In the future it will probably be easily understood, but none the less intriguing. Lucretius (99 55 BC), a roman poet and philosopher, was one of the first to observe that a loadstone or magnet stone could both attract and repel other magnets. For about thirteen hundred years after Lucretius, scholars insisted that certain magnets possessed the property of attraction while others possessed the property of repulsion. To their minds, it did not seem possible that the same magnet could both attract and repel other magnets. Gradually it became evident that the two ends, or poles of a magnet are unlike in certain respects. Roger Bacon (1210 1294), an English philosopher and scientist pointed out that magnets could repel as well as attract other magnets. In 1600, William Gilbert, an English doctor, proposed that the earth was like a giant magnet. He had been experimenting with round pieces of magnetite and magnetized needles when he realized that the magnetite was attracting the needles in a way similar to the earth s attraction of a compass needle. William Gilbert was also the first to call the ends of the magnets poles. William Gilbert s idea that the earth is a giant magnet turned out to be basically true. The earth is thought to obtain its magnetism from electricity made by molten iron and nickel sliding around inside it. The Earth s magnetism is centered at an area in northeastern Canada by the North Pole (another center is by the South Pole). The needle of a compass points not to the top of the earth but to the magnetic north pole

The story describes the journey of a young mischievous boy, Huck Finn, and Jim, a runaway slave, as they travel along the Mississippi River in hopes of gaining the freedom that they each had envisioned for themselves. Mark Twaincreates a social critique by contrasting the idea of freedom against slavery, civilization and other social norms. • 7. Dubliners By James Joyce Dubliners, is a book in which James Joyce takes his readers back to early 20th century Dublin. Joyce s collection of short stories portrays his homeland, Ireland, at a time of stagnation and the beginning of the Irish Nationalist Movements, which sought independence from Great Britain. With such dependence, Ireland and its citizens lives could not move forward and to enliven this condition in his book Joyce use three great concepts. In the first short story Joyce mentions the words gnomon, simony, and paralysis, and by doing so he foreshadows the themes of every story and how they are a close description of Dublin at that time. Joyce use the concept of gnomon to typify incompleteness, disconnection, and being in the shadow of someone or something, which is a important theme in his book about the empty and incomplete lives of the Irish. Before meeting the odd old man, the boys decided to skip school and go looking for adventures like in the Wild West, and the narrator tells: But when the restraining influence of the school was at a distance I began to hunger again for wild sensations, for the escape which those chronicles of disorder alone seemed to offer me. The mimic warfare of the evening became at last as wearisome to me as the routine of school in the morning because I wanted real adventures to happen to myself. But real adventures, I reflected, do not happen to people who remain at home: they must be sought abroad. ( An Encounter 13) Their

These schools could ultimately compete with municipality run public schools in all middle class and low income metropolitan neighborhoods. Sweden Sweden introduced a system of school vouchers in 1992 across both primary and secondary schools. The vouchers provided free choice for families to send their children to publicly or privately run schools. Public funding from each municipality was then directed to schools based on their numbers of students. Sweden s voucher policy allowed more accessibility of students to independently run private schools. Since introduction, however, Carnoy indicates the original Swedish voucher model was replaced by direct subsidies regulated by municipalities. While the voucher system was introduced to improve school quality and enhanced social equity, it is not clear that these outcomes have been achieved. While there is no direct evidence that links the move of student to privately run schools with a fall in educational outcomes; it is clear that overall Swedish international education test scores have fallen since 2000 in the PISA test . Dumbfounded, Julian thinks his friends are playing a joke on him, but Dr. Leete, one the strangers, confirms that he is really in 2000. To convince Julian, Dr. Leete shows him a glimpse of modern day Boston. Mr. West is amazed at the grandiosity and cleanliness of the new Boston. Wondering how modern day Boston came to be, Julian asks Dr. Leete why, and he explains that the government has consolidated all industries into one industrial army. With the consolidation, social harmony and equality ensued. The reason for the momentous change in society was that, They [19th century poor] believed that the great corporations were preparing for them the yoke of a baser servitude than had ever been imposed on the race, servitude not to men but to soulless machines incapable of any motive but insatiable greed. (Page 30/180) Bellamy emphasizes that the change was a rational and rather simple evolution in humankind. After this complete upheaval in the socio economic systems of the United States, hunger and poverty were eliminated, efficiency in the industrial system was maximised, and citizens were enabled to choose whatever profession they so choose and earn the same amount of pay as their neighbour. Also, Dr. Leete explains that money is no longer needed as it was a only a function of the old, capitalist system. Instead, workers are given credit cards that have holes that can be punched out of them. Once one is

It is a symbol of hope, freedom, and a better life in the United States. It is widely known that Lady Liberty was the first thing immigrants saw when they came to America, this architectural structure was a symbol of hope and freedom. What intrigues me the most is, Why would France just give us a an expensive copper statue? I never understood this until right now, everyone knows what she symbolizes, she is the Statue of Liberty. The word liberty is related to the word liberated , which means to free. For example, U.S. soldiers helped liberate Jews from the concentration camps in Germany after World War 2. The statue was given to us to represent freedom, the concept on which our great country was born on. Not just any freedom, a true freedom, a freedom in which we are not subservient to a king. He was born on Christmas Day in 1642. He never knew his father since he had died before Newton was born. As a young man, his mother tried to get him to go into farming but he hated it. Newton convinced his mother to let him go back to school and he became the great scientist that everyone knows about today. In 1687, he published a work called Philosphiae Naturails Principia Mathematica which is where the world first was able to read about the laws of motion that he discovered and explained. These three physical laws would lay the foundation for classical mechanics. They describe the relationship between a body and the forces acting upon it, and its motion in response to those forces. The first law states that when viewed in a inertial reference frame, an object either remains at rest or continues to move at a constant velocity, unless acted upon by an external force. This is often referred to as the law of inertia. What Newton means is that there is a natural tendency for objects to keep doing what they are doing. An object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion until the object is affected by something outside of it. This is inertia. There is no way to measure inertia but you can compare it. You can compare mass and momentum to get an idea of the inertia of an object. This law wasn t

  • 19. Sexism In Merchant Of Venice William Shakespeare is often praised as the best playwright but does his works fall victim of the patriarchal influence? In one of Shakespeare s famous works The Merchant of Venice, there is sexism prevalent throughout these characters actions and interactions. Shakespeare s writing may have been influenced by his era with sexism influencing scenes like the trial and the lottery of the caskets. The first thing one should consider while analyzing Shakespeare s writing is the social norms of his time. As any writer most likely is Shakespeare s plays and other writings including the work The Merchant of Veniceare influenced by the world he lives in. This is a time where patriarchal views were the only ones heard. Although the female characters in the play may have more agency Shakespeare writes these witty and willed women to be submissive to these men. To give historical context the essay Women According to Men: The World of Tudor Stuart Women by Suzanne W. Hull put very well the existence of women in the Renaissanceera. When England was ruled for half a century by Queens but women had almost no legal power; When marriage, a womans main vocation, cost them their personal property rights; when the ideal woman was rarely seen and never heard in public; when the clothes a women wore were legally dictated by her social class; when almost all school teachers were men; when medicine was prepared and purified at home; when corsets were constructed of wood and cosmetics made of bacon and eggs; when only half of all babies survived to adulthood? (Hull 15). As this passage illustrates the role of women was a very scarce role. They were supposed to only be seen and never heard. Women were expected to always be prim and proper. Upper class women were able to speak their minds but their ideas and thoughts were shaped by men. A woman could not do or think much without input given by men. A woman was controlled by her father from the day she is born until the day she is married, from which she would then be handed directly to a husband to control her in that role. Women legally belonged to their husbands during the Renaissance. Women were always expected to be to be devoted housewives. These ideas, although it may

It s one of my favourite Johnny Cash songs and these 2 managed to convince me with this performance that they were actually John and June. The biography of blind musician ray Charles. Both are high profile motion pictures about major recording stars who recently died (Cash passed away in 2003, four months after the death of his wife, June Carter). The music the 2 of them play is different, but there are very similar plot fundamentals, among which are drug use. Walk the Line I think is a better film. It s put together with more style, and it never seems to get boring, unlike Ray which near the end seems to drag on for a bit. Ray had much more fantasy as opposed to Walk the Line which was all completely based on Cash s own words. This movie also has a powerful plotline that Ray didn t, a love story! To me, that s what made this film much better than Ray . Overall I really enjoyed this movie; the only thing I want to complain about is the lack of Bob Dylan. It is a known fact that Dylan single handedly revived Cash s career, yet they only mention him a few times throughout the
  • 21. Is Harm Reduction a Desirable National Drug Control Policy... Is Harm Reduction a Desirable National Drug Control Policy Goal? There are many differing viewpoints in the United States when dealing with drug policy. Within the political arena, drug policy is a platform that many politicians base their entire campaigns upon, thus showing its importance to our society in general. Some of these modes within which drug policy is studied are in terms of harm reduction, and supply reduction. When studying the harmful effects of drugs, we must first to attempt to determine if drug abuse harms on an individual level of if it is a major cause of many societal problems that we face today. In drawing a preliminary conclusion to this question we are then able to outline the avenues of approach in dealing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those that are opposed to harm reduction feel that its advocates are hypocrites that call for tougher policies in dealing with alcohol and tobacco yet in the same breath call for reductions in the penalties for illegal drug use. Opponents also believe that initiating a harm reduction policy may in fact increase the use of illegal drugs as well as the people that are seeking drug treatment. Robert J. MacCoun, is an associate professor in the Graduate School of Public policy at the University of California and author of Toward a Psychology of Harm Reduction. Professor MacCoun also supports the movement towards a harm reduction approach to drugs. He explains how the harm reduction movement emerged in Amsterdam in the 1980 s in response to mounting heath issues directly related to the use of drugs. Professor MacCoun illustrates that harm reduction is not a program that has been proven effective in the war on drugs, being constantly rejected as a viable option to present drug enforcement policy by the United States government. Professor MacCoun illustrates however that the policies that the U.S. presently has in place has failed in its ability to eliminate drug use thus causing the major harms of drug use in place. Professor MacCoun believes that many of the drug related problems we have today are a result of poor legislation as well as the

Former slaves would work on land rented from a landlord, which sometimes belonged to their former masters. While these freedmen worked on the land, they received a share of the crop that they had farmed. To eat meat, you must accept the fact you are behaving unethical, and come to terms with your actions, if you are a Utilitarian. Spearheaded by Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill, the moral theory of Utilitarianism was founded upon the belief that we should all make decisions that benefit society as a whole, not acting selfishly for the sole benefit of ourselves. Utilitarianism focuses on the end results and the costs and benefit those results yield. It is an ethical principle, which is intended to maximize happiness for all parties affected by the decision. By using a cost benefit analysis, or hedonic calculus, one can examine if a certain action is an ethical behavior. This requires assigning a number value to all pains and pleasures and calculating them to determine is the behavior is ethical. If there are more positives than negatives, it seems according to Utilitarianism, that you should go ahead and make the positive action. It can be applied to direct or indirect actions, only dependent upon the final outcome. However, in the foundation of Utilitarianism, the key words are all parties . Every country has its own unique epoch through history that marks its identity; Latin America is yet to come across one. Marquez s chief complaint is the apathy exhibited by the west towards steps taken by Latin America to render plausible its own social aims. Agreed Latin America abounds with madness and obstinacy yet the only sentiment echoed by the west has been that of sympathy and not support. This is the crux of the Latin American Solitude, a solitude both geographic and ideological in its nature. Solitude is the central theme of the novel and expressions through

Escape From Wonderland Whether it is a young girl s favorite song on the radio, a college student s escape from reality or a form of entertainment to a married couple, music brings everyone together. While some individuals may see music as nothing more than a song on the radio, it may be a major part of someone else s life. Every month ravers unite as a community that spread positivity and love around one another at raveparties while they vibe and dance to electronic music from sunset to the early morning. In the late fifties, rave was first used in Britain as a title for the wild bohemian parties that occurred at the time. It was then briefly revived by the mods, a British youth subculture of the early to mid 1960s, and did not return into the trend until the illegal warehouse party scene in London in the early eighties. The crowd was mixed, black and white, and it is likely that the term rave came from Jamaican usage rather than a revival of any previous usage in Britain (Evans). The main goal of these rave parties was to dance while listening to good soulful music . European clubs that sponsored raves in the 1980s tried to limit the exposure of attendees to the public and to law enforcement (NDIC, 2006). Raves were secretive, after hours, private dance parties and were often held in clubs, abandoned warehouses, and private homes or even underground where attendance was restricted to invitees or friends of invitees. These locations were able to provide accommodation for the massive
  • 43. Launching the Bmw Z3 Roadster In the mid 1990 s, BMW decided to launch a new vehicle titled the BMW Z3 Roadster, its first car to be manufactured in North America. BMW wanted to capitalize on the decline of the motorcycle market with a roadster sports car that was targeted at driver excitement and emotional fantasy for drivers. The Z3 initiative provided the important opportunity to increase market share and build a stronger brand connection with Americans. Its success would influence how Americans related to all BMWproducts moving forward, shaping overall brand strength across market segments. The Z3 Roadster launch also needed to be done with the context of BMW s redesigned 5 series and their role as the official international automotive sponsor of the 1996... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our recommendation is to use an even combination of traditional and non traditional marketing in the next phase. BMW should use traditional marketing such as T.V. and print advertising to continue to promote their quality reputation that the Z3 was born into. They should use the brand equity the Z3 is building in the U.S. as a gateway for selling other models to Americans such as the redesigned 5 series. Non traditional methods should remain a part of the mix to sustain the positive buzz created in the first phase and compliment their Olympic sponsorship by utilizing the excitement of the games. An example would be endorsements from popular Olympians featuring the similar characteristics shared with world class athletes and the Z3, such as speed and performance. They can also use non traditional methods to maintain contact with consumers and put a positive spin on the lack of product availability by running a contest to win a new Z3 when they arrived. In addition, an increased global vision is needed for BWM to gain popularity worldwide and increase global market share. The second phase should consider ways that the U.S. Z3 strategy can be incorporated into other markets in the future. Today, BMW North America is currently looking for a new ad agency and is focusing on TV and social media to promote new and redesigned vehicles. Their marketing team reported in February that their budget break down would be 68% for national TV, 8% for local TV, 15% for
  • 44. Ischaemic Heart Diseases Introduction and need of proposed system: Now a days, due to change in lifestyle, the problem of heart disease has become very common. Many people lose their lives since they are not familiar with the reasons associated with the heart diseases. According to the fact sheet of WHO the 10 leading causes of death in the world during the year 2000 to 2012 where Ischaemic heart disease, stroke, lower respiratory infections and chronic obstructive lung disease have remained the top major killers during the past decade. Also it is mentioned that 7.4 million deaths are due to Ischaemic heart disease which is at first position of causes of death. Now days when patients visit hospitals for nominal reason, they have to undergo different tests suggested ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Level 1 tests include Blood Pressure, Heart rate/ pulse rate, ECG, Lipid Profile (HDL, LDL, Triglycerides, and Total Cholesterol), Sodium, Potassium tests etc. Level 2 tests include 2D/3D echo, Stress test, angina symptoms etc. Level 3 includes angiography. As a routine checkup, if patients perform level 1 tests, then according to possibility of heart disease either next level test will be suggested or some preventive measures will be given by the system. So our software will help doctor to make proper diagnosis. This system will help doctor to think about next treatment to be given. The patients can also refer to system by doing level 1 test as routine activity and will decide whether to visit the doctor or
  • 45. Econ Preface In our data analysis we do some univariate analysis before proceeding to models. In survival analysis it is highly recommended to look at the Kaplan Meier curves for all the categorical predictors. This will provide insight into the shape of the survival function for each group and give an idea of whether or not the groups are proportional. We also consider the tests of equality across strata to explore whether or not to include the predictor in the final model. For the categorical variables such as marital, eservice, plusservice and totalservice we use the log rank test of equality across strata which is a non parametric test. For the continuous variables such as age, address, income, education, employment, and reside we use a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Consequently we find the better model after dropping variables with the p values more than 0.05. Model 5 is the best model which has all the significant variables and has lowest AIC value of 1478.82 and BIC value of 1513.17. If the marital status is altered from married to unmarried, while holding all other variables constant, the rate of churn decreases by (100% 66.5%) = 33.5%. As year in current address is increased by one year, all other variables are held constant, the rate of churn decreases by (100% 94.5%) = 5.5%. As year with current employer is increased by one year, all other variables are held constant, the rate of churn decreases by (100% 93.2%) = 6.8%. As people switch from non eservice to e service, all other variables are held constant, the churn rate decrease by (100% 56.5%) = 43.5%. As people switch from non plusservice to plusservice, all other variables are held constant, the churn rate decrease by (100% 54.5%) = 45.5%. As education level increases, all other variables are held constant, the churn rate increases by 12.83%. Finally, I adjust my model for heteroscedasticity by using robust function. The final adjusted model is presented below: Table 1: Final Model (Corrected for Heteroscedasticity) |Variable |Haz. Ratio |Robust Standard Error |Z value |Significant | |marital |0.665 |.0790557 | 3.43 |** |
