How Does Wart Use Power In The Moat
When Wart is turned into a perch to explore the moat, the concept of might is right is first
examined. While transformed into a fish,Wart meets Mr. P. Mr. P is the king fish in the moat
and has a very corrupt view on power over others. He tells Wart that Power is of the individual
mind, but the mind s power is not enough. Power of the body decides everything in the end, and
only Might is Right (White 45). Wart is hypnotized by the impact of Mr. P s words and learns
that power is an intimidating thing. Mr. P is the epitome of unjust power being forced over the
fish of the moat. He is portrayed as an unflattering king and Wart begins to be introduced to the
idea that power is not always a good attribute. The idea of power is shown again... Show more

He is scared by the pressures of power and is intimidated based off his past experiences. Earlier in
the novel, while talking to the badger he says, I should have liked to go to war (White 187).
Through his experiences with Merlin, he now believes that ruling in a noble way is more
important than intimidating the people one rules over. He adapts the mind set and ideals of his
teacher, Merlin. Merlin consistently believes that jousting and tilting are foolish and childish. He
passes his ideals on to Wart through showing him how foolish it is to joust when he takes Wart to
see King Pellinore and Sir Grummore fight for no reason. He shows Wart that bravery isn t what
he was traditionally taught and bravery is really shown when one has knowledge and a just mind
set. White develops this motif through the theme that power corrupts and one must rule with
equality and bravery in order to be a strong leader. This theme is explored and embodied through
Merlin and his teachings. Through Merlin, Wart learns what it means to be a capable and
knowledgable leader. With his strong militaristic background and intellectual experiences, Arthur is

Office Dakota Products Case Analysis
Office Dakota Products Case Analysis Course: BUSA 5061 Managerial Accounting Students
Name: Teresa Willette Professors Name: Dr. Conner/Dr. Pollard Date 3/20/2011 Executive
Summary The following analysis is written for Dakota Office Products to evaluate current business
operations and recommend future actions necessary to ensure company success. In the analysis of
the company we will identify inefficient business practices that have led to the companies first
profit loss in its history. We will evaluate the companys current pricing structure, ordering methods,
shipping and delivery process, and deficiencies in cash flows. For Dakota Office Products (DOP),
its existing costing system was inadequate because it is incapable of accounting for... Show more

The key issue presented in front of the management is the possible steps to be taken by the
management in order to avoid such losses. Critical Thought The issue addressed by the accounting
system of Dakota office products invites our attention to the premise of Activity Based costing
methodology. We are certain about the fact that the accounting and reporting system at Dakota
Office Product is inappropriate and is leading to the company making wrong decision ultimately
leading to losses. This was apparent from the record where the company was able to increase its
sales without a corresponding increase in the profits for that particular year. Activity based costing
system is an approach which seeks to allocate the overhead cost to the products on a scientific and
realistic basis. The existing system of allocating cost at Dakota Office products were inadequate
in so much so that it was following an unreasonable basis for allocating the cost, which were
known and visible, such as the desktop delivery cost. The existing system was suffering from
oversight of some of the expenses. ABC costing system seeks to overcome the problem of
oversight and make a more reasonable allocation of the costs. The distinctive feature of this method
is the fact that the method can provide useful insights to the management as to the activities which
are leading to the cost by

Essay about staffing policies
CURRENT POLICIES AND PRACTICES
In order to maintain a competitive edge and consistently reduce staffing issues, many companies
have turned to alternative methods of staffing. As companies continue to change with the times , so
do their staffing needs. Therefore, the traditional hiring of a full time employee is not the only
option. Companies have turned to more effective ways of getting the job done. They are using
outside sources to recruit employees.
United Healthcares hiring practices will be utilized in this report to identify the ways in which a
company fills its open positions. First there is the process of finding external candidates for a
position. The company uses a variety of sources to recruit these candidates: ... Show more content

However, the use of these more sophisticated outlets mentioned above have proven to be just as

RESEARCH AND CURRENT THINKING
The staffing policies, which United Healthcare uses, are like that of many other organizations. Lots
of companies today are using the same or similar sources to fill their positions. There staffing
policies are often reviewed to ensure that they are similar to that of their competitors.
Unfortunately, like many other companies, United has had to go through the process of downsizing
with in the last two years. Downsizing is basically defined as cutting staff and eliminating
positions. Many companies go through this process as a result of needing to cut expenses. This

Simon Wiesenthal
A man once said, Technology without hatred can be a blessing. Technology with hatred is
always a disaster (Simon Wiesenthal). Simon is trying to say that social media with hatred is
not as enjoyable to use, where as without hatred it can be resourceful and fun. I agree with this
quote because cyber bullying is nothing to joke about. It can cause death and Simon really
speaks out when using this quote in his writing. Simon Wiesenthal is an author who was born on
December 31, 1908 in Buczacz, Galicia. Simon died on September 20, 2005. The man lived a

My Fair Lady
My fair lady
When I started watching this movie in the class, I thought it would be a little bit boring and it is
just kind of classical old movie. But it was not true. My fair lady was really interesting and a great
enjoyment to me. As soon as the movie started, Eliza Doolittle s voice brought me to attention to
the movie. Her cracking voice and pronunciation which I never heard were good enough to pay
attention to the movie. Also the atmosphere based on the early 1900s London captured me.
Before I watched my fair lady , I didn t know anything about the movie, so I expected Eliza is a
pretty and cultured woman. But Eliza was just countrified flower woman. It was also very
surprising me.

Regina s Flour Shoppe
This rustic pie takes all the great qualities from a regular pie: A browned pastry crust plus a gooey
fruit filling minus all the fuss thanks to it s free form style.
The filling is forgiving as you can use whatever is local and in season or head to the frozen
section and take your pick of frozen fruits (there is a grocer near me that stocks frozen
cloudberries and local sour cherries what a treat!), so choose your flavor, roll out the pastry which
takes some muscle, but be patient and it will work with you.
This galette is inspired by Kimberley Phaneuf of Regina s Flour Shoppe, from the newly printed

On a lightly floured surface, gently knead the dough three to four times, then pat it into a disc (or

least 2 hours (or up to 24) before rolling.
When you re ready to roll out the galette, remove the dough from the refrigerator and let it sit at
room temperature until slightly softened, about 10 15 minutes.
Dust the countertop with flour and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll the dough out in
a circular shape to about Вј inch (6mm) thick. Don t worry if it looks a little wonky. It s rustic!
Once rolled, transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet.
To make the filling, add the sugar, cornstarch, lemon zest, and thyme to a large bowl and mix
together. Add the fruit and stir to combine.
Pour the fruit mixture onto the centre of the prepared crust, leaving a 2 ВЅ inch (6 1/2 cm) border

Weather In The Great Gatsby
Weather in the book is used to convey a multitude of things, but rain in particular symbolizes some
sort of melancholy. Each time rain appears throughout the book, it sets the scene and adds to the
mood of the situation, recurring numerous times in order to solidify that symbolic relationship. One
time when the rainis prevalent is when Daisy and Gatsby first reunite. Their initial meeting is
awkward and forced, thus the rain was falling. This allows the reader to not only understand the
predicament to a greater extent, but also to visualize it. It had been five years since they were last
together, and in that, the rain represents the despair left over from their time apart. After they
became more comfortable with each other, it was almost

Conservative Movement Thesis
Carter s thesis is: Although the Conservative Movement gained followers through careful
advertisement and presentation of candidates in the 20th century, their agenda was mainly aided by
racist social opinions, anti welfare economic movements, and commercial displaying of candidates.
George Wallace (Democrat) led a social movement so angry and powerful that he forced Richard
Nixon (Republican) to learn the art of fully exploiting white voter s racial fears without running
openly racist campaigns or governing in a racist way. Since then, people with presidential
aspirations and the presidents themselves have evolved and refined these tricks into racially
coded political advertisements, slogans, and symbolically charged events. George Wallace came
into power by leading a social movement that was based on exploiting white voter s racial fears. At
the beginning, the Democrat s positions were openly racist. Wallace started exploiting white voter s
racial fears when he stated Segregation now! Segregation tomorrow! Segregation forever!
Eventually, talk of race came to be coded into politics, like issues of welfare reform. Most
candidates in today s world would not openly incite racism.
According to the author, Nixon s plan was to capitalize on what Wallace (Democrat) had started and

Cryptography Essay
Abstract With the expansion in the field of computers and highly technically advanced
communication mediums like internet there is a necessity to secure the transmission of data. The
information that is transmitted over the internet is a highly sensitive and critical information which
needs to be protected from adversaries, hackers, and eavesdroppers etc. who bypass the existing
security and perform dangerous actions. Cryptographyis the art and science of keeping the data
transfer secure from adversaries, hackers and eavesdroppers. Cryptography and its algorithm forms
one of the essential components to the security mechanisms in order to safeguard the data
transmissions and data storage. Without the use of cryptography the emails and information can be
intercepted without any authorized access.
After researching academic papers related to cryptography I understand the basic working of
DES algorithm and the cracking of the DES algorithm by brute force technology. I would like to
explore the cryptographic algorithms, the flaws associated with the algorithm. In this paper, I will
discuss about the DES algorithm and deficiency with the DES algorithm. I will discuss the
existing problem with double DES algorithm and the basics about the Triple DES and the problem
with respect to the Triple DES. A brief overview of AES has been provided.

Sampling System And Its Effect On The Speed Of System
1 . INTRODUCTION There are plenty of sampling systems are present. By using those kind of
sampling system it may causes large amount of distortion. Distortion includes aliasing, jitter, noise,
aperture error etc. Aliasing. Some amount of aliasing is inevitable because only theoretical,
infinitely long, functions can have no frequency content above the Nyquist frequency . Aperture
error results from the fact that the sample is obtained as a time average within a sampling region,
rather than just being equal to the signal value at the sampling instant. Jitter or deviation from the
precise sample timing intervals. Noise, including thermal sensor noise, analog circuit noise, etc. In
order to reduce the jitter and increase the speed of system we use wide band photonic compressive

Reporting and Disclosure
Discussion Questions
1. Transparent financial reporting means that timely and accurate disclosures are made on all
important matters affecting a company s financial position and performance. It implies openness,
communication, and accountability. Transparent financial reporting protects investors because
nothing is hidden from them. Investors can better assess the risks of owning securities when
information is truthful and complete. Transparent financial reporting also improves market quality.
It enhances investor confidence. Open communication creates markets that are fair, orderly,
efficient, and free from abuse and misconduct.

5.Triple bottom line reporting refers to reporting on a company s economic, social, and
environmental performance. It is a form of social responsibility reporting designed to demonstrate
good corporate citizenship. So called sustainability reports are an increasingly popular means of
triple bottom line reporting. There is substantial variation in social reporting today. More regulation
would improve comparability, but it might also stifle reporting innovations. The usefulness of
social reporting to outside parties, particularly investors, needs to be demonstrated before
implementing more regulation for it.
6. Often we expect to observe less voluntary disclosure by companies in emerging market countries
than by those in developed countries: a. Equity markets are relatively less developed in many
emerging market countries, resulting in lower total demand for company information by investors
and analysts. b. In many emerging market countries, most financing is supplied by banks and
insiders such as family groups. This also leads to less demand for timely, credible public disclosure,
and in these markets enhanced disclosure may have limited benefits.
In general, we expect to

On a daily basis there is a lot of thought and focus directed at these patients to assure they are

waited on hold for what seems like forever, waited on doctors, ran to another floor all to get a
patient something they needed or wanted, or may the nurse noticed an important change in the
patients status that could dramatically affect their outcome. Most times the patient does not see or
not even know about these behind the scenes battles to ensure quality care. Conversely, most often,
especially when considering a patient in the hospital setting, our perception is our reality. Patients
often do not know the ins and outs of procedure and protocol and rely solely on their perception
of the care they are receiving. Studies have shown that patients desire to be perceived and cared
for as individuals. Lying in that bed waiting on a nurse for 20 minutes for pain medication may just
translate into lack of care on the nurses part to the patient but in reality the nurse was caught in
another room with a different patient with a situation he or she couldn t walk away from. Often
nurses are stressed which can also convey a certain harshness to patients. In other cases maybe the

The Land Of The Jordan River
After the nation of Israel had fled Pharaoh s domination in Egypt and just before crossing the
Jordan River into the Promised Land, Moses sent twelve spies, one from each tribe, to assess
the new land. After 40 days, they returned telling stories of a great land flowing with milk and
honey that was inhabited by a powerful people living in large well fortified cities. Caleb, one of
the twelve, a courageous and loyal colleague of Joshua, silenced the crowd. Standing before Moses,
Caleb declared boldly, We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.
The other ten spies filled with fear scoffed at both Joshua and Calab, We can t attack these people.
They are stronger than we are.
The ten then spread lies among the people about the new Promised Land that Joshua and Caleb had
just explored.
Only Joshua sided with Caleb. Both of them tore their clothes in anger before the assembled
crowd saying, The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the Lord is pleased
with us he will lead us into that land and give it to us. Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do
not be afraid of the people of the land. But the Israelites had already forgotten God s promise and
angrily threw stones at them. Consequently, that rebellious and sinful generation of Israelites found
only death in the desert.
Joshua and Caleb possessed a pure Spirit. They had courageously risked their lives in order to
speak the Truth. They alone remembered how God

Short Essay On Dementia
Contrary to public belief, dementia is not one specific disease rather a range of symptoms that are
associated with cognitive decline and a reduction in a person s ability to remain active and
independent. There was a time when dementia was referred to as senility or having senior moments,
but these monikers suggest that dementia is a normal part of aging, and this concept simply isn t
accurate.
Alzheimer s disease accounts for up to 80% of all dementia cases closely followed by vascular
dementia, which typically occurs after a stroke. Dementia may also be caused by vitamin
deficiencies and thyroid problems. These last two types are reversible in nature.

It s important to mention that brain health can also be impacted by frequent blood sugar spikes.
For this reason a diet low in sugar, especially processed sugars and refined flours, is important to

And finally, some good news for coffee lovers, caffeine has been found to be effective in
preventing Alzheimer s disease. This does not mean you need to consume cups and cups of it
every day. Just one two to cups will bring benefits.
Keep Learning
You know the old phrase use it or lose it, well this applies to your brain as well. It s incredibly
important to keep your brain active as you age. Consider learning a new language or how to play a

It started with Thomas Morgan in 1910, discovering the function, location, and connection of
genes like white eyes, yellow body, and small wings. One of the first things Morgan found out
was that the white eyed trait is sex linked on the X chromosome and not sex limited, meaning
females can have the white eyed trait expressed as well. Usually, males express the white eyed
trait more often though due to only one X chromosome. This relates to this experiment in that
the white eyed sex linked trait is the recessive gene being traced back to the parent generation.
The objective is to identify the parent generation s genotype from only knowing the F1
generation s phenotype and conducting a cross between sixteen of the F1 generation to produce
an F2 generation. The F2 generation should be able to solve the P0 s phenotype. It should also be
supported by statistics, punnett squares, and a low probability value. Based on the phenotypes in
both F1 and F2, the parent generation s genotype should be homozygous white eyed females and
dominate red eyed males. Methods The exact instruments involved were provided accordingly for
the experiment. The procedure was taken from the steps in UNT s Biology 3452 spring Manual.
To start, the most important instrument was the first vial containing the F1 generation. When
received, the vial was filled with all adult flies and the proper tools were given to safely

Working At A Car Rental Company Located At Pearson Airport
The first transferable key I chose is Analyze data or facts. The reason i chose this is, because it
relates to the history of my work place. I am currently working at a car rental company located at
Pearson airport called National Alamo. Our responsibility as a team at work is to get the cars
out cleaned, gassed and up and running in a specific time. It is important to our company to get
the car out to our customer in the best quality. The reason why this transferable skill is important
to our work place is because we need to analyze the amount of cars being sent to rent each hour so
we could match our reservation quote. The data collected of how many cars we have left is very

The data collected from that would be very helpful for the division because it would allows the
officers to be aware of the area and they try to crackdown on the crime. The second transferable
key that is important to me is problem solving. The reason I chose this is, because it is very
important to dealing with conflict. Problem solving is an everyday thing in my household. We
were taught by our parents to solve problems within our conflicts because the more we avoided
the conflict, the worse it got. The one example I would use is a conflict between my brother and
I. I had a car this summer that belonged to me that I pay for to maintain. But my brother always
wants to take it when I m at home but he only pays for his gas. I confronted him about the
situation to let him know that if he drives the car the same amount of times I do, that the car
belongs to him equally. So I told him he needs to pays for my gas all the time or pay for insurance.
We argued for a couple of hours, so my father came in between and told us we need to solve this
probably or else he ll take the car keys from us. So finally we came to a agreement of splitting
everything equally. He pays for half of everything and that I pay the other half. The reason this
skill is important to us is that if we didn t get to solve our problem none of us would have a car.
This skill would assist me in my future field of policing

The Risks Of Long Distance Human Spaceflight
Upon the consideration of long distance human spaceflight, the risk management plan in
correspondence must prepare the crew members before and during the mission, for risks which
may or may not occur, in the isolated confines of space. Specifically, the risks of meteoroid
impacts, malnutrition, and contamination were observed and their effects on the psychological and
physical health of the crew members was detailed. Only meteoroid impacts are singularly and in
transit risk, while both malnutrition and contamination are constant risks due to the human factor.

consequences which can compound other problems. The main risk managementmethod would...

2013).
Meteoroid impacts, although a common obstacle in science fiction movies, do not rank very
highly on a problem for a crew on spacecraft due to the very high dispersity of streams of
meteoroids, their very small size, and the very small size of a spacecraft in comparison to the
vastness of space. Even the ISS has a 1 in a 10 billion chance to hit by predictable meteoroid
streams while in a very small orbit (David, L. 2014). However, due to the large distance any
communication signals would have to traverse, in an emergency situation the astronauts would
need to be able to act according to protocol. To prepare for even this unlikely situation, crew
members should undergo pre flight and routine in flight simulations which involve safety measures
of a breached hull, compromised oxygen supply, damaged thrusters, or other mechanical failures
(Phillips, T. 2002). Although considering that this risk only pertains to the in transit portion of the
mission and a meteoroid that penetrates the shell of the spacecraft in living quarters would most
likely result in the immediate lack of oxygen due to the immense vacuum in space which would
limit any opportunty to mediate the situation.
Nutrition, although taken care of since the introduction of multiple day missions, is the most
important risk factor to consider as it directly relates the health and ability of the crew member to
perform their duties. The lack of proper nutrients and vitamins can lead to increased bone

The Decision Of Purchasing Drones For The Purpose Of Local...
Purchasing Drones The decision of purchasing drones for the purpose of local law enforcement
to use could be a negative and a positive. There are several states in the U.S. who do allow the
purchase and the usage of drones by local law enforcement. Some of those states consist of Texas
and California; but for the states on the East Coast (where Baltimore, Maryland resides); there is
one state who allows the purchase and usage of drones: Florida. There are several pros and cons
on this issue. Some of the pros and cons revolve around money, time, and the issue of individual
rights. A drone is an unmanned aircraft or ship guided by remote control or onboard computers.
(Merriam Webster). It is also beyond [the] line of sight: the GPS of a U.S. spy drone.
(Dictionary.com). The issue that will be continuously brought up will be the right of privacy. Will
the usage of drones violate the Fourth Amendment? It can be a violation if abused. The key word in
the definition of drones IS spy. Is it spying if you are looking at something in plain view, but the
device is out of plain sight? The Fourth Amendment states that every individual has the right to not
have unreasonable searches and not without probable cause. However, there are exceptions to the
Fourth Amendment which includes the Plain View Doctrine. The Plain View Doctrine states that if
a law enforcement officer is in a place legally and sees criminal activity or other evidence, the
evidence can be seized without a

Meanwhile, when they change themselves they would eventually go back to their old habits. It s

Comparing Olympia And Urbino
In the painting, Olympia receives flowers from a helper who is staring at her, which was very
controversial at the time due to the fact she was completely naked and it was seen as immodest.
The flowers are presumed to be from a client, which gives more evidence to support her being a
prostitute. A black cat is shown standing at Olympia s feet provide a stark contrast to the dog at
Venus of Urbinos. While the dog is laying docilely at her feet, representing loyalty and love, the
cat stands and almost seems to shake in shock and fear, representing secrecy and selfishness. The

Analyzing The Belting Technique
I had to adjust my register to sing using the thyroarytenoid muscles. Peckham comments on the
most effective transition, which is to train singers to strengthen the weaker muscle group and to
guide the singer in shaping vowels to achieve a more speech like pronunciation. In the complete
Vocal technique, Sadolin replaces the word Belting with Edge, commenting that the term Belting
is a common word to describe loud singing so it was an obvious choice for the name of the full
metallic vocal mode. During my performance practice I found it challenging to sing using belt as I
had previously be trained using the legit model. I found it vocally challenging, as it was a sound
that felt unnatural to my voice. I felt by adopting the belt technique it added more strength behind
my voice and the exercises involved improved my overall performance agility. A Comparative

The Narrative Of The New Zealand
The narrative of the New Zealand feature film What We Do in the Shadows (2014) directed by
Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, follows the lives of three vampires, Viago, Deacon and
Vladislav as they struggle to try to cope with the complexities of modern life. Living in a flat in
Wellington, these modern day vampires are faced with the mundanities of everyday life, and things
such as paying rent, trying to get into nightclubs and overcoming flatmate conflicts prove to be
extremely difficult. What We Do in the Shadows is unique in that it combines parody and
cinematography, while also using a mixture of two genres, vampireand mockumentary, to comment
on contemporary social formations and to challenge traditional cultural myths. These elements of
the filmhave been used to ensure the portrayal of the horrific as mundane and ordinary. What We
Do in the Shadows uses aspects of the vampire genre to demonstrate the changes that the cinematic
vampire has faced over the years. As Kane states, both the demeanour and appearance of the
cinematic vampire has changed drastically since its introduction with Bela Lugosi in 1931 (1),
which has resulted in the creation of the modern day cinematic vampire that we see in What We Do
in the Shadows. Throughout film history three distinct periods of vampire narrative can be
observed. Initially, the first cinematic vampires were formally dressed and presented as the leading
villains in films, the second type showed more human

landing solid foundational pieces across the board. It goes on to say how the pieces and the

to come in the future if this keeps up for them. A take away from this article that you can see is
how important it is to find the right coach to get your players to the next level but also a good
GM to help draft players you need to get better and that is something the LIons are shaky at best
at if anything which is sad for us fans. Now Bleacher report did teams that can t rebuild and the

The high evenness is due to fewer species being present at this site. The results of this lab
supported my hypothesis that the water s edge would have the highest biodiversity, the wooded area
would have medium biodiversity, and the manicured lawn would have the lowest biodiversity.
The reason that the results support my hypothesis is that the water s edge had a diverse
vegetation around it for a variety of species to be found. It also had the pond where species could
be found. The wooded area contained many layers of leave coverage which is good for some
species but bad for others. The wooded area is also subject to runoff which reduced the number
of small species that could be found on the ground. The manicured lawn is cut often causing a
reduced amount of species that would be found on the ground and not enough trees to counteract
the cutting affect. The biodiversity of the three sites are comparable by the evenness being greater
with low species richness. The sites are also comparable by the shannon diversity index being
higher as the species richness is increased. An ecological explanation that we observed was that an
area with low evenness were less likely to interact with each other. The area with a higher evenness

The War On Terrorism During The United States
The war on terrorism in the United States began after the September 11 attacks on the United
States. Following the war was a series of military campaigns carried out to destroy terrorist
organizations in the Middle East. Led by the George W. Bush administration, America made goals
for the war on terror to defeat main targets and terrorist leaders such as Osama bin Laden. The
invasion of the Middle East was supported by the American people at first. After three more years
Saddam Hussein s weapons of mass destruction no longer existed. Multiple terrorist forces fighting
Al Qaedawere taken down. However, America has maintained its militarypresence in the region
until present day. According to Will Fight for Oil by Ted Koppel, if production of oil from the
Persian Gulf stopped the American economy would be devastated. The american economy runs on
oil; a large percentage of the oil we use comes from the Middle East. The United Statesinvaded Iraq
in 2003 has not left yet because of the possible dangers of a Middle East without American
military presence. Without American supervision the regional instability of the Middle East
could be very bad for oil production. To protect the American interests in the region military
forces have not been removed. The people at home are all aware that we have American soldiers
in the region. American civilians are used to living in a country at war. The constant period of
America at war starting in 2003, has made America always prepared for

The Chocolate Sector of Côte d’Ivoire Essay
People are not prone to agree with one another. If you gather a dozen people together for a dinner
party and the subject turns to politics or religion, then there is inevitably going to be an argument.
There is one thing, however, that there is a near universal consensus on: chocolate is a wonderful
and delicious thing. While Europe and the United States account for most chocolate consumption,
the confection is growing in popularity in Asia and market forecasts are optimistic about the
prospects in China and India (Nieburg, 2013, para 9). According to the CNN Freedom Project, the
chocolate industry rakes in $83 billion a year, surpassing the Gross Domestic Product of over a
hundred nations ( Who consumes the most chocolate, 2012, para 3).... Show more content on

208). The international market had an increasing need for reliable and homogenous product,
resulting in nearly identical practices on farms throughout the country (Losch, 2002, p. 208). When
CГґte d Ivoire became independent, it resulted in a dramatic spike in production that would help
make the country become a market leader (Losch, 2002, p. 208). By the 1980s, the cocoa sector
had been received the local government s blessing and gained a reputation for quality mass
production (Losch, 2002, p. 210). This reputation was well merited; CГґte d Ivoire has supplied
almost 50 percent of internationally traded cocoa since the 1970s and continues to do so to this
day (Losch, 2002, p. 206). CГґte d Ivoire s mass production practices lead to the cocoa trade
becoming a highly influential economic factor (Losch, 2002, p. 210). Because of this, paired with
governmental involvement in the sector, dreams of dominating the cocoa market and influencing
prices naturally followed (Losch, 2002, p. 210). Unfortunately, market power is more complicated
than supplying the majority of product. However, attempts to control the price of cocoa by pulling
out of the market temporarily proved disastrous, ultimately aiding the other producers by reducing
the competition (Losch, 2002, p. 212). CГґte d Ivoire also quickly realized that it was too
dependent on the cocoa trade both economically and politically to employ this tactic for long

The Importance Of Performance At Carnegie Hall
Every musician definitely dreams about one day performing at Carnegie Hall because it is one
of the best concert halls all over world. Since it first built, it keeps providing good shows and
performances to audience. According to this article, Carnegie Hall decides to add more events in
the next couple years, and despite classical musicevents, they want to provide more modern musical
events to audience. Also, in the next following years, they will more focus on education and try to
bring more children and students get involved into live performances (Cooper, n.p.).
When I first saw this news, I was so happy to know that Carnegie decided to offer more events.

The Dimensions Of Wellness In The 5k Community
I attended the Celebrate CSUB 5k run on April 29th as a volunteer. This was the first ever
community race I attended and it was a memorable experience. I witnessed more than a hundred
people get up early in the morning and go for a run around California State University, Bakersfield
s beautiful campus. The general impression I got from the racewas that it is a good way to stay
healthy and active on a Saturday morning. The diversity amongst the 5k participants was one of the
best things about the event. To clarify, there were people of all ages, from senior citizens to little
children, from mothers pushing their babies in strollers to people runningwith their dogs. All the
participants shared one thing in common, they all started and finished... Show more content on

(3) 183 day test
The 183 day test is satisfied when a person who has actually been in Australia, continuously or
intermittently, during more than one half of the year of income.
In the given case, Andy spent most of the year working in Thailand and he only got back to meet
his family in Australia one month every three months. Therefore, he does not satisfy this test.
(4) Superannuation test
As there is no sufficient information regarding Andy s superannuation, the test is not applicable
here.
CONCLUSION:
As can be concluded by the above test and analysis, Andy satisfies the Common Law test and
Domicile test. Even though the 183 day test is not satisfied and the superannuation test is not
applicable, we can still be sure that Andy can be considered as a resident for the purpose of income
tax assessment.

It s Complicated By Danah Boyd
In her book, It s Complicated, Danah Boyd expresses her views on modern day social media and
the modern day teenager s reliability with it. The book is comprised of 8 enlightening categories:
identity, privacy, addiction, danger, bullying, inequality, literacy, and searching for a public of their
own. Throughout the book, Boyd provides data, true stories, and factual conversations to help
support her main claim: social media has taken over our youth.
She conducts numerous interviews with teens of all races, ages, and genders. In the passage,
Boyd describes an interview she had with an 18 year old, Skyler, who explained to her mother
that If you re not on MySpace, you don t exist, (page 5). In today s world, the new MySpace is

Notes On Forex Trading Software
Forex trading software has a noble aim: to completely automate the forex trading process. It can
either produce trading signals and you make the actual trade, or the more sophisticated programs
can be set to make the trade as well. When you are trading on the stock market, you would
typically choose one or more companies and start watching their shares. You will study their
financial statements. You will listen to what other traders say about their stock value whether it s
undervalued or overvalued. But whatever you do, it is unlikely that you will ever get access to the
information that can really make or break a particular company. Things like technological changes
that will make their products totally obsolete. The forex market is somewhat different in this
regard. At least theoretically it s a level playing field. All traders have equal access to market
information. What s left for the traders then is to analyze that information, come to a trading
decision and start making money. So try to comprehend the development that took place through
years. Every moment forex market constructs a new history and hence you have to know what the
recent news is and how it is influencing the price movements. Also you should be familiar with the
parties those are working on the trading like the forex brokers or the companies selling trading
signals or other relevant services. If you can comprehend these simple requirements then

Teaching And Coaching As A Philosophy
A philosophy can be defined as a set of values and behaviours that serve to guide the actions of a
coach (Wilcox and Trudel, 1998, p.41). By drawing from all facets of a person s life, each is
specific to the learner and distinguishes teachers and coaches from one another. It can be
consciously developed as the professional, teacher/coachand student within education is exposed
to a practice as well as other life experiences. It is believed that clearly articulating one s philosophy
is a prerequisite to good practice (Cassidy et al, 2008, p.55) throughout this essay I hope to reflect
on my increasing knowledge foundation in teaching and coachingand how it has successfully
developed and been applied to my philosophy as a coach.

However, I disagree, as a coach I believe you must have specific sport knowledge to the sport in
context but knowledge from a wider base to fully engage in successful practice of techniques
which accompany a successful end result as well as being able to develop the athlete on a wider
basis. This is supported by the fact coaches work with fewer people and at a higher skill level
does not negate the fact that they are engaged in teaching...skills, techniques and strategies (
Drewe, 2000, p.81) this coupled with the fact coaches tend to spend more time with athletes
which means they too, also develop the fundamental domains of the athlete. For this reason I
believe both roles are intertwined and provide basis for both to thrive from. In order to for me to
be an affective coach I must take both concepts and make sure that I develop the child s ability as
well as other factors.
A way I have developed as a coach is by exploring philosophies of coaching and in particular three
core philosophical concepts, values (axiology), morality (ethics), and meaning (ontology). Values
(axiology) can be split into two sources, which include value in both sport and coaching and more
distinctly subjective and objective values. This is determined by whether a person is intrinsically or
extrinsically motivated. Subjective values

Roland s Heroic Hero
The loss of his men deeply troubles Roland into portraying the heroic quality of honoring the dead.
As the battle against the Saracens slowly diminishes the French forces, Roland scans the mountains
pass and cries out,
Barons, my lords, may God give you his grace, may he grant Paradise to all your souls, make them
lie down among the holy flowers.
I never saw better vassals than you.
All the years you ve served me, and all the times, the mighty lands you conquered for Charles our
King! (140. 1854 59)
The feeling of despair in Roland is evident in these lines. None of the rearguard ran away when
they saw a fierce battle approaching. Instead, they followed orders and fought honorably under the
command of Roland. At the sight of all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is notable to realize that Roland is physically about to die, yet the obligation of blessing his
companions is his top priority. Roland returns, lays the brave men down according to their rank,
and watches as the Archbishop blesses each one. Roland shows particular emotion when he sees
Oliver lying on the plain When Roland fixes his eyes on Oliver s cold body, he
felt such grief and pity, he begins to weep; and his face lost its color with what he felt: a pain so
great he cannot keep on standing, he has no choice, falls fainting to the ground. (164. 2215 20)
Roland and Oliver s relationship is much more meaningful than friendship. Although the two
arguments between Oliver and Roland seem like they pit each vassal against each other, they still
resemble brothers in arms (Ailes). No matter how different they may seem, Roland honors Oliver
in the end. In addition, the Twelve Peers that fought so bravely by Roland s side. Through the
excruciating loss of twenty thousand French soldiers, including his dear companions, Roland s
final words still bless his Heavenly Lord. Just hours before this moment, Roland was so caught up
in his pride that he didn t even realize how he had endangered the lives of his troops and disobeyed
his feudal relationship with Charlemagne. His pride distorted his motivation behind attacking the
Saracens without warning the rest of the army, yet he kept

Warner Brothers Pictures Gravity
The movie Gravity, a winner of 7 Academy awards, produced by Warner Brothers Pictures ,
shows just how dangerous space can be. Dr. Ryan Stone is a bio medical engineer who is on her

Matt Kowalski, to abort the expedition. Their colleagues back home have warned them that a ton
of debris is headed their way because of a Russian missile strike. The debris hits their station and
causes a lot of problems for them. They quickly realize that it is too late to return home and that
they have to find a way to survive with the clock ticking down. Losing connection with Mission

They undoubtedly got many things correct in this movie and viewers praise them for this. One
example of them achieving accuracy is when George Clooney had to let go to save Sandra
Bullock. Due to Isaac Newton s laws of motion, we know that an object in motion will remain in
motion unless acted upon by an outside force (Newton s First Law.) Since there is little gravity in
space, the astronauts had no outside forces acting upon them once they were moved, unless
something or someone hit them. As Stone is falling with her leg caught in the parachute, she is
decelerating. Kowalski believes that the parachute cannot absorb that much energy so letting go
of the parachute will be effective because it will only have to absorb Stone s energy and not both
of theirs. This scene is correctly shown in the movie and for the most part would happen the same

  • 2. How Does Wart Use Power In The Moat When Wart is turned into a perch to explore the moat, the concept of might is right is first examined. While transformed into a fish,Wart meets Mr. P. Mr. P is the king fish in the moat and has a very corrupt view on power over others. He tells Wart that Power is of the individual mind, but the mind s power is not enough. Power of the body decides everything in the end, and only Might is Right (White 45). Wart is hypnotized by the impact of Mr. P s words and learns that power is an intimidating thing. Mr. P is the epitome of unjust power being forced over the fish of the moat. He is portrayed as an unflattering king and Wart begins to be introduced to the idea that power is not always a good attribute. The idea of power is shown again... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is scared by the pressures of power and is intimidated based off his past experiences. Earlier in the novel, while talking to the badger he says, I should have liked to go to war (White 187). Through his experiences with Merlin, he now believes that ruling in a noble way is more important than intimidating the people one rules over. He adapts the mind set and ideals of his teacher, Merlin. Merlin consistently believes that jousting and tilting are foolish and childish. He passes his ideals on to Wart through showing him how foolish it is to joust when he takes Wart to see King Pellinore and Sir Grummore fight for no reason. He shows Wart that bravery isn t what he was traditionally taught and bravery is really shown when one has knowledge and a just mind set. White develops this motif through the theme that power corrupts and one must rule with equality and bravery in order to be a strong leader. This theme is explored and embodied through Merlin and his teachings. Through Merlin, Wart learns what it means to be a capable and knowledgable leader. With his strong militaristic background and intellectual experiences, Arthur is given potential to be a wise ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The key issue presented in front of the management is the possible steps to be taken by the management in order to avoid such losses. Critical Thought The issue addressed by the accounting system of Dakota office products invites our attention to the premise of Activity Based costing methodology. We are certain about the fact that the accounting and reporting system at Dakota Office Product is inappropriate and is leading to the company making wrong decision ultimately leading to losses. This was apparent from the record where the company was able to increase its sales without a corresponding increase in the profits for that particular year. Simon is trying to say that social media with hatred is not as enjoyable to use, where as without hatred it can be resourceful and fun. I agree with this quote because cyber bullying is nothing to joke about. It can cause death and Simon really speaks out when using this quote in his writing. Simon Wiesenthal is an author who was born on December 31, 1908 in Buczacz, Galicia. Simon died on September 20, 2005. My fair lady was really interesting and a great enjoyment to me. As soon as the movie started, Eliza Doolittle s voice brought me to attention to the movie. Her cracking voice and pronunciation which I never heard were good enough to pay attention to the movie. Also the atmosphere based on the early 1900s London captured me. Actually when the movie ended, I didn t recognize it was finished because of vague ending. But it was really nice and interesting movie. When you re ready to roll out the galette, remove the dough from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature until slightly softened, about 10 15 minutes. Dust the countertop with flour and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll the dough out in a circular shape to about Вј inch (6mm) thick. Don t worry if it looks a little wonky. It s rustic! Each time rain appears throughout the book, it sets the scene and adds to the mood of the situation, recurring numerous times in order to solidify that symbolic relationship. One time when the rainis prevalent is when Daisy and Gatsby first reunite. Their initial meeting is awkward and forced, thus the rain was falling. This allows the reader to not only understand the predicament to a greater extent, but also to visualize it. It had been five years since they were last together, and in that, the rain represents the despair left over from their time apart. Conservative Movement Thesis Carter s thesis is: Although the Conservative Movement gained followers through careful advertisement and presentation of candidates in the 20th century, their agenda was mainly aided by racist social opinions, anti welfare economic movements, and commercial displaying of candidates. George Wallace (Democrat) led a social movement so angry and powerful that he forced Richard Nixon (Republican) to learn the art of fully exploiting white voter s racial fears without running openly racist campaigns or governing in a racist way. Since then, people with presidential aspirations and the presidents themselves have evolved and refined these tricks into racially coded political advertisements, slogans, and symbolically charged events. George Wallace came into power by leading a social movement that was based on exploiting white voter s racial fears. At the beginning, the Democrat s positions were openly racist. Wallace started exploiting white voter s racial fears when he stated Segregation now! Segregation tomorrow! Segregation forever! Eventually, talk of race came to be coded into politics, like issues of welfare reform. Most candidates in today s world would not openly incite racism. Cryptography Essay Abstract With the expansion in the field of computers and highly technically advanced communication mediums like internet there is a necessity to secure the transmission of data. The information that is transmitted over the internet is a highly sensitive and critical information which needs to be protected from adversaries, hackers, and eavesdroppers etc. who bypass the existing security and perform dangerous actions. Cryptographyis the art and science of keeping the data transfer secure from adversaries, hackers and eavesdroppers. Cryptography and its algorithm forms one of the essential components to the security mechanisms in order to safeguard the data transmissions and data storage. Without the use of cryptography the emails and information can be intercepted without any authorized access. After researching academic papers related to cryptography I understand the basic working of DES algorithm and the cracking of the DES algorithm by brute force technology. I would like to explore the cryptographic algorithms, the flaws associated with the algorithm. In this paper, I will discuss about the DES algorithm and deficiency with the DES algorithm. I will discuss the existing problem with double DES algorithm and the basics about the Triple DES and the problem with respect to the Triple DES. A brief overview of AES has been provided. • 15. Sampling System And Its Effect On The Speed Of System 1 . INTRODUCTION There are plenty of sampling systems are present. By using those kind of sampling system it may causes large amount of distortion. Distortion includes aliasing, jitter, noise, aperture error etc. Aliasing. Some amount of aliasing is inevitable because only theoretical, infinitely long, functions can have no frequency content above the Nyquist frequency . Aperture error results from the fact that the sample is obtained as a time average within a sampling region, rather than just being equal to the signal value at the sampling instant. Jitter or deviation from the precise sample timing intervals. Noise, including thermal sensor noise, analog circuit noise, etc. In order to reduce the jitter and increase the speed of system we use wide band photonic compressive system. Often we expect to observe less voluntary disclosure by companies in emerging market countries than by those in developed countries: a. Equity markets are relatively less developed in many emerging market countries, resulting in lower total demand for company information by investors and analysts. b. In many emerging market countries, most financing is supplied by banks and insiders such as family groups. As Florence Nightingale described our profession long ago, it takes work and vigilance to ensure we are doing the best we can to care for our patients. (Mitchell, 2008) The World Health Organization outlines 6 areas of quality that help shape our definition of what makes quality care. Most times the patient does not see or not even know about these behind the scenes battles to ensure quality care. Conversely, most often, especially when considering a patient in the hospital setting, our perception is our reality. Patients often do not know the ins and outs of procedure and protocol and rely solely on their perception of the care they are receiving. Studies have shown that patients desire to be perceived and cared for as individuals. Lying in that bed waiting on a nurse for 20 minutes for pain medication may just translate into lack of care on the nurses part to the patient but in reality the nurse was caught in another room with a different patient with a situation he or she couldn t walk away from. One of the first things Morgan found out was that the white eyed trait is sex linked on the X chromosome and not sex limited, meaning females can have the white eyed trait expressed as well. Usually, males express the white eyed trait more often though due to only one X chromosome. This relates to this experiment in that the white eyed sex linked trait is the recessive gene being traced back to the parent generation. The objective is to identify the parent generation s genotype from only knowing the F1 generation s phenotype and conducting a cross between sixteen of the F1 generation to produce an F2 generation. The F2 generation should be able to solve the P0 s phenotype. It should also be supported by statistics, punnett squares, and a low probability value. However, due to the large distance any communication signals would have to traverse, in an emergency situation the astronauts would need to be able to act according to protocol. To prepare for even this unlikely situation, crew members should undergo pre flight and routine in flight simulations which involve safety measures of a breached hull, compromised oxygen supply, damaged thrusters, or other mechanical failures (Phillips, T. 2002). Although considering that this risk only pertains to the in transit portion of the mission and a meteoroid that penetrates the shell of the spacecraft in living quarters would most likely result in the immediate lack of oxygen due to the immense vacuum in space which would limit any opportunty to mediate the situation. Nutrition, although taken care of since the introduction of multiple day missions, is the most important risk factor to consider as it directly relates the health and ability of the crew member to perform their duties. The lack of proper nutrients and vitamins can lead to increased bone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Purchasing Drones The decision of purchasing drones for the purpose of local law enforcement to use could be a negative and a positive. There are several states in the U.S. who do allow the purchase and the usage of drones by local law enforcement. Some of those states consist of Texas and California; but for the states on the East Coast (where Baltimore, Maryland resides); there is one state who allows the purchase and usage of drones: Florida. There are several pros and cons on this issue. Some of the pros and cons revolve around money, time, and the issue of individual rights. A drone is an unmanned aircraft or ship guided by remote control or onboard computers. (Merriam Webster). It is also beyond [the] line of sight: the GPS of a U.S. spy drone. (Dictionary.com). The issue that will be continuously brought up will be the right of privacy. Will the usage of drones violate the Fourth Amendment? It can be a violation if abused. The key word in the definition of drones IS spy. Is it spying if you are looking at something in plain view, but the device is out of plain sight? The Fourth Amendment states that every individual has the right to not have unreasonable searches and not without probable cause. However, there are exceptions to the Fourth Amendment which includes the Plain View Doctrine. The results of this lab supported my hypothesis that the water s edge would have the highest biodiversity, the wooded area would have medium biodiversity, and the manicured lawn would have the lowest biodiversity. The reason that the results support my hypothesis is that the water s edge had a diverse vegetation around it for a variety of species to be found. It also had the pond where species could be found. The wooded area contained many layers of leave coverage which is good for some species but bad for others. The wooded area is also subject to runoff which reduced the number of small species that could be found on the ground. A way I have developed as a coach is by exploring philosophies of coaching and in particular three core philosophical concepts, values (axiology), morality (ethics), and meaning (ontology). Values (axiology) can be split into two sources, which include value in both sport and coaching and more distinctly subjective and objective values. This is determined by whether a person is intrinsically or extrinsically motivated. Subjective values ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. Roland s Heroic Hero The loss of his men deeply troubles Roland into portraying the heroic quality of honoring the dead. As the battle against the Saracens slowly diminishes the French forces, Roland scans the mountains pass and cries out, Barons, my lords, may God give you his grace, may he grant Paradise to all your souls, make them lie down among the holy flowers. I never saw better vassals than you. All the years you ve served me, and all the times, the mighty lands you conquered for Charles our King! (140. 1854 59) The feeling of despair in Roland is evident in these lines. None of the rearguard ran away when they saw a fierce battle approaching. Instead, they followed orders and fought honorably under the command of Roland. At the sight of all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is notable to realize that Roland is physically about to die, yet the obligation of blessing his companions is his top priority. Roland returns, lays the brave men down according to their rank, and watches as the Archbishop blesses each one. Roland shows particular emotion when he sees Oliver lying on the plain When Roland fixes his eyes on Oliver s cold body, he felt such grief and pity, he begins to weep; and his face lost its color with what he felt: a pain so great he cannot keep on standing, he has no choice, falls fainting to the ground. (164. 2215 20) Roland and Oliver s relationship is much more meaningful than friendship. Although the two arguments between Oliver and Roland seem like they pit each vassal against each other, they still resemble brothers in arms (Ailes). No matter how different they may seem, Roland honors Oliver in the end. In addition, the Twelve Peers that fought so bravely by Roland s side. Through the excruciating loss of twenty thousand French soldiers, including his dear companions, Roland s final words still bless his Heavenly Lord. Just hours before this moment, Roland was so caught up in his pride that he didn t even realize how he had endangered the lives of his troops and disobeyed his feudal relationship with Charlemagne. His pride distorted his motivation behind attacking the Saracens without warning the rest of the army, yet he kept ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 51. Warner Brothers Pictures Gravity The movie Gravity, a winner of 7 Academy awards, produced by Warner Brothers Pictures , shows just how dangerous space can be. Dr. Ryan Stone is a bio medical engineer who is on her first mission into space. Soon after taking off, Houston commands her and her fellow astronaut, Matt Kowalski, to abort the expedition. Their colleagues back home have warned them that a ton of debris is headed their way because of a Russian missile strike. The debris hits their station and causes a lot of problems for them. They quickly realize that it is too late to return home and that they have to find a way to survive with the clock ticking down. Losing connection with Mission Control is one of the many problems the two astronauts faced. Although this movie may have many events in space that are scientifically accurate, some events are completely inaccurate.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They undoubtedly got many things correct in this movie and viewers praise them for this. One example of them achieving accuracy is when George Clooney had to let go to save Sandra Bullock. Due to Isaac Newton s laws of motion, we know that an object in motion will remain in motion unless acted upon by an outside force (Newton s First Law.) Since there is little gravity in space, the astronauts had no outside forces acting upon them once they were moved, unless something or someone hit them. As Stone is falling with her leg caught in the parachute, she is decelerating. Kowalski believes that the parachute cannot absorb that much energy so letting go of the parachute will be effective because it will only have to absorb Stone s energy and not both of theirs. This scene is correctly shown in the movie and for the most part would happen the same way in real ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wherein the many equipment of Industrial Automation worldwide were used the V/F Speed Control of Linear Induction Motor which the Trains themselves, Automatic Screen Door, Moving Walkway, Lift and Escalator etc. Moreover, the MTR would also produce energy in a much cleaner, more energy saving, and more sustainable manner. The neglect of this energy source is restricting the MTR from increasing its sustainability and accessibility. Literature search Methods of Achieving Sustainability In this project suggests several ways to make the system more sustainable. (Variable speed appliance for energy saving included curtain pullers, trains themselves, automatic screen door, moving walkway, lift and escalator, compressors and pumps, catapults and launchers.) There are many discussed with respect to their Efficiency of use and Conservation . These are defined as follows: пЃ¬Conservation: Changing policy and/or processes of the MTR system so that it requires less energy to operate. пЃ¬Efficiency of Use: Changing the nature of technologies within the MTR so that they require less energy to operate. While both these approaches are valid ways of increasing sustainability, it is important to tackle the problem of sustainability from numerous angles. It can be assumed that developments will be made to achieve both conservation and high ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
